Digis Letting Loose [Leith]

"Sweetness!" Shoutmon whooped as the destination was set.
"By the way, don't worry about the bits. I mean, we invited you guys, right? Come to think of it... I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've done, like, anything just social where I was the only human." It seemed Leith was still a bit too tight to really show any feeling more than a casual shrug and a friendly half-smile. Still, that was probably more contentment and social grace than Luke and Bellamy had probably ever seen of the young man to date. "I'll admit it; I feel a little out of place." As they passed an entrance into a pretty loud, crowded, and well-lit place, Leith's body language got a little stiffer; he seemed to be trying to avoid physical contact with anyone. As far as he and company could see, the only human in the building at the time was part of their party. Aaaand now I feel more out of place.
"'Ey! Guys! I'm gonna get a round! Who wants what?"
"Usual, I guess." Leith's usual was nothing.
"One shot of Really Fuckin' Boring comin' up! Blue, Joker, Furry Bait, what's it gonna be?"
And this is what he's like when he's sober, Leith groaned inside his own head. Wait a minute. He didn't ask Luke what he wants? Leith watched Shoutmon trying to give Veemon some kind of signal, that's for sure. The young man thought the little hand signals were clear, but would Veemon pick up on them? Apparently, yes. That meddling little shit.
While Shoutmon wandered off, presumably after taking all the orders he asked about, Veemon looked to Luke and finally showed a little awkwardness himself by chuckling for no clear reason and scratching the back of his head. "Hey, Luke! Can I get ya something, too? Me and Leith don't drink, but I can just tell 'em to make what ever you want!" Veemon did a pretty good job of not looking nervous besides that, something Leith took personal note of.
Are you serious? Veemon is putting himself out there? When did-? Whatever Luke said to him on Daedalus, it worked. Shit, does the fucking rabbit have more game than me? Leith couldn't help glancing at Lantis, turning red, and looking back away pretty quickly. You know what? Something else to think about sounds good right now. So that was when Leith blurted out, "So, who wants to go first?"

Lantis was thrilled at the generosity. While he had been out to social clubs before, mostly in Terminus, this was really the first time he had dinner in a cafe, paid for by someone who wasn't Sophie. In return for this, when they entered the karaoke bar, he noticed that Leith seemed to feel out of place, being the only human here. "Ah don't worry about it, if anyone gives you trouble here, you've got me here looking out for you" he promised, clapping him gently on the shoulder. "Besides, most digimon in Whitewater usually like humans" Bellamy added. "I mean, given they've helped save the city several times, including Colin if I may brag so boldly"."What? Really?" Lantis asked, surprised. "Yep. When we biomerged for the first time. There was a Dynasmon attacking and was giving Marshal and Coronamon grief, and then he throws a Chaosmon at us, so Colin, Luke and I all biomerge to BlackJupitermon and finish off the Chaosmon, right up there in the sky!""...please don't tell Sophie" Luke asked Lantis, then Bellamy realized he probably shouldn't have said that. "Well... that's most impressive indeed" Lantis remarked. "Although I think she should probably know that her little brother risked his life in Super Mega level combat, but, I shall respect your wishes". He knew deep down that Colin would likely ignore any attempts of Sophie to restrict his digital world activities anyway. Bellamy laughed at Shoutmon's nicknames for them, Lantis was amused too. "I'll have a Margarita" Bellamy said eventually. "Creme de menthe for me, thanks" Lantis said, thinking he could do with a good digestif after that steak. Luke meanwhile wondered why Shoutmon didn't ask him, but he got his answer when Veemon approached and offered him something. "Oh! Ah, thanks" Luke said, smiling in response. While his blushing wasn't visible, his cheeks were rather hot so he knew he was doing it. "Well, I've always wanted to try a Mojito" he admitted, thinking something light wouldn't make him too smashed. He had to remember that he couldn't hold his drinks very well, although that was mainly because he only weighed about 40 pounds. Then, following that, Lantis honestly didn't know how to approach it next with Leith. He didn't want to take things too quickly and ask outright, so he thought that maybe some fun singing might help things out. "I'll go first!" the Leomon said, cheerfully, taking a swig of his drink and putting it down on the table. But... oh no, he realized he didn't know that many songs! Argh, what to do?! "Cool! Ya used one of these before, Lan?" Bellamy asked, rushing up to help him with the machine. Lantis was grateful to the Impmon for doing so. "No I haven't, thanks" he admitted, then watched as Bellamy helped pick a song. "This one should help kick things off!" Bellamy said. Lantis narrowed his eyes and saw that "Can you feel the love tonight?" by Etemon John was about to play. He knew what that one was. "Bells, not that obvious!" he hissed through his teeth. "Okay okay, yeesh, how 'bout this one?" he asked, then selected what he hoped could be an enjoyable song for the party. Lantis shrugged, supposing he'd try it, as the song said after all. "Right. Just keep an eye on the screen, the words'll show up. Don't worry 'bout it, we're all here to have some fun!""Alright then" Lantis said, taking a deep breath, and before long, broke into song, singing the best he could. The first verse was a little difficult as he struggled to find his proper singing voice, but eventually settled into the rhythm. Bellamy and Luke clapped along, cheering him on as the Leomon danced around the stage, thoroughly enjoying himself. All too soon, the song ended, with the twins applauding. "Whew! That was more fun than I thought!" Lantis said, thrilled as he stepped down and approached them. He gave a querying look at Leith, wondering if he was impressed.

Normally an unexpected touch like that from just about anyone would have made the metalhead reflexively turn his body to prevent it from happening, and yet Leith both saw it coming and let it happen. Leith hadn't been actually expecting a problem, of course; he knew this world knew more about the other than the other knew about this. That's not to mention he knew two digimon he'd seen reach the ultimate level to save his life. And yet, despite all the above, Leith somehow felt a little better after the reassurance anyway. Lantis managed to get friendly look out of Leith in exchange. My knight in shining armor, he thought only half-sarcastically. And if for some reason Lantis wasn't up to the job? Did he just say super mega? Holy shit... I didn't even know that was possible. How much higher does it get? Suddenly Leith took a step away from Luke and Bellamy uncomfortably. Shit. Those guys must be walking gods, and here I was asking to crash on their couch and go out to karaoke. Out of the corner of his eye he watched Veemon disappear toward the bar as Shoutmon was coming back and passing out glasses. What would I even do if these guys went mega, let alone that? I don't think I even want that much destructive power! Hell, I'm not sure I even want the amount we've got.
"Boy, I am gonna spike your drink if I see you get in your head one more time!" That was Shoutmon's response when Leith didn't immediately take the glass of water offered him; it seemed Shoutmon didn't want his Tamer completely left out after all.
"Uh- sorry! Thanks." The young man began liberally gulping down his glass as he sat down on one of a few couches just in front of the stage. And now, Shoutmon wants to set us up with one of those 'gods' and their 'partner-in-law.' Leith pictured the many varieties of shirts he'd seen older men wear that promised death to people who broke the hearts of their daughters followed by a variant that promised to sic a pair of super megas on that same young man. Gulp.
While Leith made his selection, Shoutmon made sure to watch over his shoulder the whole time - so to speak, anyway. "Do it."
"It's not exactly subtle."
"Glad you agree."
"I'm not doin' that one."
"Then do this one!" Shoutmon demanded as he made a selection for Leith. "Wait, that's... actually not a bad choice. OK, I guess." Of course, he still had to wait his turn, so while Shoutmon made a selection, he sat back down. What a surprising number of human world songs. Going back to watching, then, Leith observed Veemon's efforts. God, he was jealous. Veemon wasn't being very straightforward either, but he was acting confident and visibly interested somehow without making a fool of himself: the wide grin and relaxed body language made him jealous of the emotional intelligence Veemon had and Leith thought he lacked.
"One mojito!" Veemon announced as he passed Luke what he asked for, but the announcement wasn't entirely true. It seemed that Veemon was taking Shoutmon's advice to heard; he had returned with two mojitos. "I guess we're trying these together huh?" he mused before taking a sip... and failed to pretend that he enjoyed it. "Oh, that's... new," he covered with a little chuckle at himself. Damnit. Five months old, and he's got more game than me. Of course, this was about when Lantis was on stage. Like a good listener, Leith paid attention. He's not a metal guy, huh? Well... that's gonna make my turn awkward. The fact is, though, the young man was impressed... something not easy for him from any singer. Whoa! Didn't see that comin' with a start like that. It probably on his face that he was pleasantly surprised, grinning ear-to-ear and applauding more than just politely as Lantis came down. "Nice! Not bad. Colin and I actually watched that movie together when-" "Move over, bitches!" Shoutmon interrupted as he stood. "It's not my turn?" "Nah, I changed your song and put mine first." Leith sharply inhaled. "Uh... why?" "Yours sucked, and I wanted to go first. Now move." Leith obediently pulled his legs in to make room for Shoutmon, who elected to use his own microphone for his song instead of the house's. On his way off the stage, he made sure to stop by Bellamy and mutter so, hopefully, only the Impmon could hear him. "Listen. Your little brother definitely has the hots for mine, and even though he's too much of a bitch to say it Leith wants some of that lion. I'm gon' make it happen. You in or out?"

Lantis was glad and yet a little surprised that Leith gave a smile at him. Honestly, he wasn't expecting this to go this smoothly. The Leomon was starting to think about it more seriously. Yes, actually flirting with a human wasn't something he had done before, but, he felt in this case, it felt... nice, especially in that Leith seemed to like it.
"You have a nice smile" Lantis suddenly said, then screamed internally afterward, thinking it was too much. Ahh, he thought he'd be so much better at this! He'd practised trying to be charming, but there was a huge leap between that and actually doing so.
"Okay big guy, just relax, be patient. You've ruined like half a dozen dates by being too forward and impatient, just keep things comfortable" he thought to himself. Outwardly all he was doing was blushing a little, and didn't have the luxury of red fur on his cheeks to hide it.
Luke seemed a little startled by the look that Leith gave them, but Bellamy gave a wink and a smile. "Hey, not like we can evolve that high without Colin here" he said. "Don't worry, there ain't gonna be super mega fireworks around here any time soon".
Afterward, as everyone had their drinks, Luke was increasingly relaxing around Veemon, leaning in close to hear him talk. Although Veemon didn't seem to like his drink, it matched Luke's tastes fairly well, having enough sweetness to hide the bitterness of the rum. "Heh, nevermind, Blue, I'm sure there's another drink you'd like" he said, going giggly as the drink hit him. "...you don't mind if I call you Blue do you?" he asked, gently patting Veemon's hand. It was clear as the night stretched on, Luke was actually more similar to his brother than he normally let on.
"What's your favorite drink? I'll get it for you" Luke said, cheerfully. "I can't sit by and let you spoil me all night, hehe".
Lantis later on was delighted to see Leith smiling broadly at his performance. "Thanks, Leith" he said. "Doesn't surprise me, that film is Bellamy's favourite".
Next, it turned out that it was Shoutmon's turn. The song and performance was very impressive, while a rather big mood change from the last one, Shoutmon rocked hard enough to get the trio to match the mood.
As he passed by Bellamy, he revealed his plan to match up their brothers as well as Lantis and Leith. "Well of course I'm in ain't I?" the Impmon scoffed, finishing off his margarita. "Seems to be workin' so far. Got any ideas to help 'em get on with it?" while they did seem to be getting along well, it seemed that progress was kinda slow so far.
Luke meanwhile grinned around at the others. "So, who's going next?" he asked, eager for more. Lantis was too.

Gulp. A nice smile? Lantis had nailed a weak point of Leith's on that one. For no real reason, the young man was self-conscious about his teeth, so having someone go out of their way to compliment his smile made him turn real red real fast. Even more embarrassing, Bellamy picked up on Leith's anxiety about super-megas and somehow managed to make it sound like no big deal in his mind. Still, at least it was reassuring that they were on his side.
Seems Niko never stood a chance. Leith wasn't the only one being embarrassed, though. Veemon turned purple soon as Luke tried to use that stupid nickname Shoutmon mocked him with as a pet name. The difference in behavior wasn't lost on Veemon either. A couple of drinks, and he goes from a shy little thing to... well, this! Veemon's hand twitched when pat, but only once before it relaxed again. All of a sudden this alcohol stuff sounded a lot more appealing, but Veemon still answered honestly when asked about his favorite drink. "Um, just some ginger ale, please. And sure, heh, you can call me that." Hopefully Luke wouldn't catch Veemon's eye between walking away and coming back. Otherwise he'd have caught the blue digimon unconsciously watching a little too long and maybe even a little too low, too.
"Hang on," Shoutmon dismissed Bellamy's question quietly so he could turn his attention to Leith a moment. "'Ay, you're on next! Don't worry, you're gonna love this one!" Leith personally doubted that, knowing Shoutmon, but he took his medicine and walked onstage. When he did, Shoutmon went back to whispering with Bellamy. "Alright, here's the deal: Blue's the easy one. He's already hooked. Your boy just needs to keep reelin' him in! The tough one is gonna be Mr. Cranky." Shoutmon pointed at Leith with a thumb. "That guy's extremely stuck in his comfort zone. Simba tries to play it cool, and he's gonna go ice cold. You gotta rip him outta that comfort zone. I mean you come down on him hard, and you don't stop until whatever personal problem he's got with not doin' it by himself is gone." Shoutmon smiled confidently as he gestured to Leith. "Like I did."
As Leith adjusted the microphone to his height, a screen that would show lyrics gave away what song Shoutmon was about to make him sing. Wait a second. That's not the raunchy song he wanted earlier. Leith made eye contact with Shoutmon to silently inquire. Shoutmon smirked back, but not so much an arrogant smirk like his usual as a nonverbal, 'I got you, bro.' ...That motherfucker. He picked this one for me to sing because he wants me to believe it. He's good. But, in fact, Leith knew all the words to this song confidently. So he wasn't looking at a screen as he sang it.
Give Leith this much credit: he was a natural performer. Besides having the range for all the female parts (though he had to belt to do it), the kid knew how to entertain. He jumped and headbanged and danced and smiled like he was having the time of his life. How ironic that he was as deep in his comfort zone as he could get while singing a song whose message was that he should get far, far away from it. As he turned the last lyric into a strong and sustained falsetto note, he thought to himself, You win this round, Shout, but with a more playful internal tone of voice.
"Since I showed you mine, you show me yours. Anything I oughta know about those guys I don't already?"

Lantis noticed that Leith blushed from the compliment. It seemed to him that the young man wasn't used to compliments. He'd be a little lighter on them from then on, he didn't want to come across as patronizing. Luke meanwhile didn't mind when Veemon said he liked a non-alcoholic drink. " Alright, Ginger Ale it is" he said, grinning, and hopped off his seat and walked over to the bar. As he turned around, he did notice where Veemon's eyes were looking, gave a little smile, and returned the drink to the table. "Here you are then, Blue~" he said, then pretended to suddenly be hit with a thought. "Ah, why not? I like Ginger Ale too, I might get some for myself too" he said, then returned to the bar. This time, he deliberately dropped his wallet on the floor. "Gah, dang these claws" he muttered, then bent over to pick it up. As he straightened up, he turned and gave a little wink to Veemon. Soon after, he too returned to the table with another drink. "Now then, guess Leith's up next then, eh?" he asked, not bringing up the incident, just he hoped that Veemon liked what he saw. Bellamy had noticed that too, then grinned at Shoutmon. "Heh, no worries on that front, Luke's playin' along" he said. "And huh, yeah... can picture that" the Impmon rubbed his chin at that problem. Dealing positively with Leith could be like treading on eggshells sometimes, but at least Lantis was playing gently. As Leith performed his song, Lantis stared with amazement. The performance was incredible. Luke and Bellamy were rendered silent as well. While Lantis had simply enjoyed himself, Leith was seizing the attention of everyone in the room and wasn't letting go until it was over. "Magnificent!" Lantis boomed as the song continued. "Geez, Blue, your partner's amazing!" Luke complimented Veemon. As it ended, there was cheering from rather more than just the three of them. Then Shoutmon asked Bellamy how they could help out with Lantis. "Well... Lan's got some confidence issues lately too, I guess" Bellamy admitted. "He's kinda lonely lately and wants to connect with someone I guess? Like how I connect with Coronamon. But it shouldn't be too challenging, you saw him up there a few moments ago, push him in a situation he likes and he'll go for it".
As Leith's song ended, Lantis almost gushed with praise. "That was incredible, Leith, you have so much talent!" he said.
Hopefully that was enough to work on. Afterward, Bellamy called out to his brother. "Hey, Luke, you wanna have a go?""Sure thing!" Luke said, excitedly climbing up on the stage, picked his song and, probably for the first time in a long time, let loose and thoroughly enjoyed himself. His light, warm voice laid out the lyrics and danced around the stage in a manner that just felt really fun to do so. As Luke sung, he thought about Bellamy and Colin, how they both looked up to him to act as the voice of reason, how he'd have to constantly worry about Bellamy running his mouth off at an inopportune moment or if Colin was struck by misfortune at one point in their travels in the digital world. But, as he smiled at Veemon, he thought that, maybe he shouldn't worry all that much about them? Yeah, he'd be there for them, but, why worry all the time and go over all the things that could go wrong. Maybe that was the drinks talking, but, by the end of the song, he almost bounced off the stage, cheerfully sitting back down next to Veemon. "Did you like that one?" he asked.

Veemon was no fool. He was watching too closely to think that Luke dropped his wallet by accident, especially after seeing him so deftly handle other objects like glasses in those claws and claiming to play an instrument with him. Heh. I know what you're up to. The blue digimon accepted the glass gratefully and clinked against Luke's before turning its bottom upward.
Leith looked like he felt on top of the world as he came down off the stage. He'd just sang a song he liked, and frankly the loud cheering and clapping from the audience didn't hurt either. Now that was a compliment; there was no faking a whole room of applause. "Thanks guys," Leith sincerely appreciated as he sat back down, taking the fist bumps Veemon and Shoutmon offered him on the way to his seat. 'Greatest thrill not to kill but to have the prize of the night.' 'Beauty always comes with dark thoughts.' 'Drunken disguise chances all the rules.' Tasteful but blunt. Leith glanced over at Shoutmon, who was conspiring with Bellamy obviously, as he figured, Fine. We'll try this your way.
"Well at least they got that much in common," was how Shoutmon responded to the tips for Lantis, "They both love their comfort zones, want a real sort of thing, and, damnit, can't just get to the point."
And yet, just as Shoutmon was denouncing his Tamer's approach, or apparent lack of one, Leith changed things up. For one, when he was back sitting down, he was a lot closer to Lantis than he had been before, giving up some personal space to almost be touching the lion. "I... wish I could get lessons or something. I know I'm not too good for that," was his attempt to check his own swelling ego. From his body language, he almost looked like a different person from who he was five minutes ago: performing for him seemed to have the same effect that a little alcohol had on Luke, even if not as strong. So while Luke was taking his turn, Leith leaned in so he could keep his voice down and avoid disturbing the performance but still be heard by Lantis.
"Listen. I'm not... I've never even been on a date. Ever." Even though Leith was still smiling, it seemed a bit more forced now. Between every word was a pause so long it seemed like Leith had decided to stop talking, as he was trying to choose his language very carefully while also keeping calm. "But you are clearly interested for some odd reason, and I..." Leith took a visible deep breath. "...don't like putting myself out there like that even if I actually do think you're-" Again, the nervous young man seemed to choke up. "Yeah, 19 years old and never even gotten a second look before. Isn't that pathetic? And now, here I am, whining instead of just saying I like you because I'm a mess who, even though I'm not depressed or anything like that, isn't used to someone actually seeing me like that, so now I'm..." The slow and controlled speech by this point had become hasty and emotional with a couple of voice cracks. "...I'm totally blowing it now, aren't I?"
Unfortunately, Leith wasn't being nearly as subtle as he had set out to be. Veemon noticed his troubles and looked on with a sullen look. It ached him to watch his friend struggle like that, but Veemon knew this was one lesson he wouldn't be able to teach Leith himself; only experience could help him now. That was the only reason why when Luke returned, Veemon was able to keep on smiling at his own interest. "Nice one!" the blue digimon complimented as he threw one arm over Luke's shoulders. "Nothin' like a guy who can sing, that's for sure!" as true as that was for Luke, Veemon also hoped that his Tamer would pick up the message and take it to mean he should be more confident in himself.

As Leith sat back down, Lantis noticed that he was sitting much closer than before. He tried not to look too surprised at this, it was a sign that hopefully he was succeeding in helping Leith have a good time. “Well, I wouldn’t put it like that” he said, chuckling at the notion of not being good enough. “But as a swordsman I can agree that even the best blades need sharpening to continue to be good. Just keep at it and I’m sure you’ll keep on being a bright shining star”.
Wow, where did that come from? Lantis thought that was a bit odd of him to say, but hopefully it was the right thing.
Lantis listened to what Leith had to say. That he was letting his thoughts come out so readily, he said nothing until he had finished. Yeah, it was kind of odd that he’d develop feelings like this for a human that wasn’t his partner, but, Sophie had always maintained a somewhat professional relationship with him. He never really had the idea of showing her affection like this. Perhaps this was why he was a little overwhelmed and awkward in this situation.
But, hearing that Leith was just as nervous and awkward as he was, well, it felt like they connected in a way? As Leith seemed to be on the verge of breaking down, Lantis didn’t know what made him do it, but, gently, he leaned forward and gave the young man a small lick on the cheek.
“O-oh! Gosh! Sorry!” he gasped, leaning back, blushing furiously behind his furred face. “I-I didn’t mean to do that, I mean, if you didn’t want me to, I just thought... you’re not blowing everything at all, just... I thought it was sweet of you to be honest with me like that, and, you... kinda like me, and I thought... that’s what humans do when they like each other a lot, right? Well, I mean digimon do the same too, only it's more holding hands, but, I mean... you’re trying to tell me that?”
Bellamy was clutching his face in horror and anticipation at this display. Was it too much? Or not enough? He looked at Luke, who wasn’t paying attention to it, instead focused on Veemon.
Veemon would quickly find that Luke’s fur was as soft as a rabbit’s, and rather warm as well. He was surprised at the gesture, but pleasantly so, giving a contented sort of giggle as he shifted to make himself more comfortable, leaning his head on Veemon’s shoulder.
“Aw, thanks, Blue, you’re so sweet” he said, smiling up at the dragon’s ruby eyes. He didn’t say much after that, just wondering how Veemon would react. He hoped that they were building their affection in the right way, not going too fast or skipping too much for comfort. But, Luke liked being cuddled, so he’d be happy to settle for this for now.

Leith sharply inhaled when the public and, by human standards, very inappropriate display of affection came to him. Lantis was right to be ashamed the young man thought... until the lion digimon explained himself. Lantis seemed to be fumbling and scrambling just as much as the Tamer was. As Leith reflexively wiped his cheek with one hand he realized, Oh, my god. He's me. He's freakin' me. I mean, not the fact that I go licking people's faces in public - because I don't - but this guy's as nervous as I am. Ironically enough, the human seemed to relax with this realization. The reason? He suddenly felt like he didn't have to keep up modest appearances or try so hard anymore.
He couldn't completely relax, though. A lion digimon did just lick his face in public. "You got it backwards, Lantis. That's not what humans do. But, uh..." Oh, boy. No, Leith still couldn't be confident enough to just say what he meant directly and clearly despite his usual nature of being too blunt. Instead he could only hint at what he meant with, "...I think I could get used to it." He recognized his own cowardice, too. Really? That's my best? Geez, I gotta be more like Veemon. He's leaning in to this stuff!"
The leaning in Veemon was doing was both figurative and literal. The blue did nothing to get in the way of Luke's little display except look down at it and let it happen. "Hey, Luke, it's been a nice time. Maybe we should-"
"-So!" Shoutmon loudly exclaimed, jumping up and interrupting anyone speaking, "Anyone else goin' on? Bells, what's it gonna be? 'Cause if you're not, I'm pickin' another song!"

Lantis was frozen and almost terrified as he waited for the hammer to go down. Ugh, he just couldn't help himself could he? Maybe the whole thing he was doing was just wrong? What the heck was he doing? Trying to date a human like this, it wasn't right, was it? Then he listened to what Leith had to say, then, blinked. He could get used to it? He... didn't seem to have a problem with it? "Heh. I'm... glad to hear that" Lantis answered. But of course he'll dial it back a little if it would help calm things down. "Would you like me to just... put an arm around you instead?" he asked. Best make sure. And Luke meanwhile grinned widely back at Veemon. Was he really suggesting...? His digicore pulsed a little faster as a heart would. This was getting really exciting now. Then Shoutmon interrupted by reminding them that they were indeed in public. "Heh, I'd love to" Luke answered. "Maybe after the song's finished"."My pleasure!" Bellamy answered Shoutmon, jumping up onto the stage at last for his turn. He selected the song, grabbed the mic, then aimed to do his best performance yet. Even if his voice wasn't quite powerful enough to match the lyrics of the original, he didn't mind. Seeing his brother and friend that happy, he was in too good a mood to let that get in the way of some fun. Well, the night sure had been fun hadn't it? It looked like things would be working out. As the song finished, and Luke and Lantis clapped, Bellamy gave a bow, then jumped back off the stage. "So then, s'pose you guys want a bit of privacy now, eh?" Bellamy asked, giving a wink. Lantis blushed again and gave a nervous nod. Luke meanwhile would have just upped and carried Veemon off right away if he was strong enough, but supposed he'd wait for them to agree on things first, best not get too carried away. "How 'bout we all meet up at the cafe by the beach tomorrow morning?" Bellamy then suggested. He said little more about what may or may not happen in the meantime, he just hoped they'd all enjoy themselves.

Put an arm around Leith? Well, that was certainly more in the style of humans, but the fact that he was out in public, especially with people he knew well, still made Leith want to decline the display. On a reflex, he answered Lantis' offer, "Uh- maybe later." Leith could only hope that Lantis understood he really meant later and wasn't trying to give the cold shoulder again, but to be safe, he added, "There're a lot of people around," which would hopefully carry the implication that was the only reason.
"Huh?" Veemon, meanwhile reacted slightly confused, "I was gonna say we should see each other again some time. But you know what? If you had another idea, let's do that." Then it was time to listen like a good audience to Bellamy, though. Neither Leith nor Shoutmon really liked the song, like most of those of the night (or, ever), but they were still good audiences and friends who encouraged their friend and listened actively. Veemon, on the other hand, didn't have to fake it. He clearly enjoyed the performance more than the rest of the trio. Of course, then Bellamy came down and asked about privacy. "Yep. That sounds pretty good," Veemon personally agreed.
This absolutely shocked his Tamer, whose eyes shot open real wide. Of course he wasn't surprised those two were hitting it off; he was just forced to face an idea he hadn't even thought about in a very long time: they were making it sound like he and Veemon, and probably Shoutmon, would be spending the rest of the night apart. The last time Leith slept without both of them, or just Veemon in the room, was before he didn't know what a digimon was. And yet, Leith's own impromptu date indicated he liked the thought. Leith supposed he did, too, but he was still trying to keep up appear- Oh, forget it. We're supposed to be past that, now. Everyone else is at least. So after a nervous glance at Lantis, then Veemon, and ending on Shoutmon (who smirked and inclined his head as nonverbal encouragement), the young man admitted, "Yeah... sounds good. I guess we'll meet at breakfast," as he stood up and watched Lantis, somehow taking comfort in the lion's own uncertainty.
As it seemed the group was splintering, Shoutmon from behind Bellamy muttered, "God, we're good," and subtly offered a fist bump.

"Very well" Lantis replied, patiently. He understood that not everyone enjoyed contact, especially in public, so he would play the part of the gentleman. Following Bellamy's song, he looked rather more relaxed now that they had all had a good time.
Luke was delighted that Veemon agreed and chuckled as he realized he had misread the blue dragon's intentions. "Well, yeah, you could say I've got some ideas" he said, winking.
Then Bellamy suggested they'd meet up in the morning. Luke was happy at that, while Lantis gave a polite nod. "Very well, we'll meet up in the morning" he said. He'd try to make it clear that there would be no obligations for any of them to act in a certain way tonight, they could simply relax the whole time if they wanted.
Bellamy gave Shoutmon a fistbump back, grinning all the while. "Heh, guess we are" he said. "So, what do you wanna do, Shoutmon? Wanna head over to the arcade for a while? Or somethin' else?" Now that his brother and Lantis seemed like they'd be fine on their own for a while, he supposed he might get a bit of fun out of tonight himself.
So then, seemed tonight went up quite a treat! Hopefully by the end, all would be happy and satisfied. And tomorrow, be all fresh for a new day.
