Digis Letting Loose [Leith]
|
Post by Colin, Luke & Bellamy on Oct 7, 2018 20:52:45 GMT
Most unfortunately for Colin, his adventures in the digital world had been temporarily put on hiatus. Despite his success in obtaining Luke and Bellamy's Armor Ultimate digimentals in an adventure in the Tyrant's Labyrinth, he was most unfortunately struck down by a nasty chest infection upon his return to Earth. And so the boy was bedridden, being looked after by his mother.
Also in the spate of bad fortunes, Colin's sister Sophie had also caught the illness, putting a temporary hold on operations in AEGIS. It was thus a kind of slow time for their digimon partners, Luke the Elecmon, Bellamy the Impmon and Lantis the Leomon. Since the three of them were okay though, they thought of going to the digital world themselves for a little while. After hesitantly revealing their plans to Colin and Sophie, their sick partners said it would be fine.
"No need to hang around us all day, we'll be fine" Colin said, before coughing hard. Leaving them with words of sympathy and to get well soon, the digimon took a portal from Earth to the Digital World, straight to Whitewater.
"Ah, it's been a while since I've been here" Lantis remarked, the Leomon looking impressed at the scenery. "In fact, it's been a while since we've done, well, anything together, yes? And I thought we were virtually meant to be brothers, eh?" he leaned down to pat the digimon on the shoulder.
"More like roommates" Bellamy quipped back, but was mostly kidding. "But hey, yeah, we haven't really hung out much have we?"
"Then, what better way to do that than to spend a night on the town?" Lantis asked, eager to catch up with his partner's brother's partners. "Ah, but we don't seem to be dressed for the occasion".
"Alright then, to the Soup Store!" Bellamy announced, pointing dramatically.
"...Bells, why would you buy clothes at the soup store?" Luke asked, then realized what was going on. "Oh, memes, right" he rolled his eyes. Still, a short while later, the trio were dressed in bright tropical shirts, although only Lantis was wearing pants to go with them.
The trio looked rather obvious as they made their way through Whitewater's nightlife precinct, the sun steadily descending in the west, painting the sky orange. There was a fresh salty breeze from the sea, and it certainly seemed that it'd be a lively night for them. After all, it wasn't often that they had the chance to let loose without their partners to worry about.

"That one?"
"No."
"That one?"
"No."
"That one?"
"No."
"...that one?"
"Jesus, we're just going to dinner, Shout."
"It's Whitewater, dude!" Shoutmon took a moment to quit following Leith down the sidewalk and instead walk backwards in front of him. "It's the biggest party in the digital world every single night. What are we even doin' here otherwise?"
Leith sure did look like a partygoer, of course. He had foregone his typical sneakers for black flip flops, and his jeans had been replaced by equally dark black camo swim trunks. Of course, Leith would never leave home without some real world metal band's T-shirt. Though glasses made him seem a little stiff, what really gave away his unwillingness to party was just how dismissive he was of Shoutmon's constant requests to peek inside every club and dance hall they passed. Then again, they weren't playing his music anyway; a rather graphic Killswitch Engage shirt gave away what he really wanted to hear just about then. "We came for the beach, not the... noise. Let's be honest: after everything Adrian put us through, I am not interested in the clubs."
"You're not interested in the clubs on a good day," Veemon astutely pointed out.
"Equally true," the young man shamelessly acknowledged.
"OK, we can do the compromise thing, right? How about a karaoke bar?"
"Stop!"
"I thought you like karaoke!"
"No, s-stop!" This time Leith wasn't trying to dismiss his digimon; he was just trying to prevent Shoutmon from backing straight into a very tall, very muscular, very mean-looking digimon (or, so was Leith's first impression of him). But Shoutmon couldn't figure out the vague warning in time, so that's why he backed straight into a Leomon walking in the other direction. Immediately Leith braced for an angry reaction, but, oddly, Veemon smiled and waved.
"Luke! Bells!" It was only at this point, as Shoutmon prepared to spin around and demand the Leomon watch where he's going (though Shoutmon was the one walking backwards) Leith crossed his arms and had to scoff at the coincidence.
"You guys again? What are the odds of running into each other in Whitewater twice now? It's not a small city."
"How ya doin'? Who's the big guy? Where's Colin?"

Luke, Bellamy and Lantis were doing a similar window-shop of where to eat tonight. The trio were beginning to get rather hungry, but, they too were getting a little picky about what to eat tonight. After all, it was unlikely they'd get another chance like this again, and they each had a different idea of what would be the perfect place. Bellamy was eager to try out a place that specialized in digimon-only meals, with tastes unpalatable to humans, now that they didn't have to worry about Colin. Lantis mainly wanted a place to simply relax and unwind. And Luke wanted to dine in a popular establishment, but not rowdy and hard.
So much so that the three were looking in any direction other than ahead, when at the last moment Lantis bumped into a Shoutmon that was walking backwards. Completely by accident, so he'd say.
"Ah!" he gasped, hoping the rookie digimon wasn't too badly hurt by that. Since Lantis likely weighed at least five times more than he did, he wasn't inconvenienced that much, but he just hoped the Shoutmon wasn't too badly hurt. "You alright there?" he asked.
Luke and Bellamy immediately recognized who it was. It was Veemon, Shoutmon and Leith! "Heh, we're wonderin' the same" Bellamy admitted, grinning and scratching the back of his ear. "Well, heya there, again. How's things goin' with you guys?"
Veemon then asked the same thing, with additional queries. Luke would answer. "Well, this big guy here is Lantis, he's our... uh... I wanna say 'partner-in-law'? But that doesn't make sense, hm. Well, I'll just say he's Colin's sister's partner. And as for Colin, he's unfortunately kinda sick, so is his sister, so they've let us come to the digital world ourselves for a little while".
"Yeah, not surprisin', man, what he did in that temple in the forest..." Bellamy remarked in bewilderment at an adventure not yet disclosed. "So, Lan, this is our pal Leith, and his partners Veemon and Shoutmon".
Even if Colin didn't really know where they stood on Leith and his partners yet, Bellamy was still willing to count them as friends, even if they could be a bit rough around the edges. He wouldn't mind kinda getting to know them a bit better in an informal setting, now that hopefully their problems had been sorted out.
"Hello, nice to meet you all" Lantis said, smiling down at the group. "We're currently looking for a place to settle down and have dinner, then possibly some fun afterwards. Would you know of any places like that around? I admit I haven't been to Whitewater much". Lantis spoke in a kind of polite, yet informal manner, his accent a standard British, rather different from Luke and Bellamy's New York dialects.

Leith wanted to share with the three digimon just where he was planning to go to dinner, but apparently a certain someone had to get their teasing out of the way first. "Whoa-ho, dude, you are a big guy!" he remarked with some amusement at Lantis before advising Luke and Bellamy, "Hey, keep the furry-" He meant Lantis. "-away from the furry, eh? I know what you guys are like when you get the chance. Ha!" The second furry Shoutmon was referring to was clearly Leith, which made both the young man's and Veemon's eyes indignantly shoot wide open.
"D-dude! Shoutmon! You can't just go saying that to people!" That was Leith's best, probably poor attempt at deception. Even though this Tamer was about the last one to fall into a stereotype like that, he unfortunately scolded Shoutmon for saying what he did without trying to refute it. Even worse, the red that rushed into his cheeks probably gave him away, too. For some moments, it looked like almost nothing had changed since this trio's little ride on Daedalus. However, on a worse day Leith probably would have poured it on a Shoutmon a lot harder than that; it seemed he was truly just embarrassed, not necessarily angry.
"Anyway." Veemon stepped between the two groups, acting as Leith's hero. "We were just going to an outdoor cafe by the beach! We heard it's got good food for humans and some digital world specialties, plus it plays music Leith liked when we walked by it earlier today." The fact that Veemon went out of his way to say that almost made it sound like that was a major selling point. That was because, at least for the Tamer, it was. "Don't know what we're doing after, but I bet we'll figure something out." Veemon frowned a little then. "Are... are you sure you wanna leave your humans alone when they're sick?" Maybe it was only natural that Veemon disapproved of that. Both he and Leith wouldn't soon forget what a dutiful nurse the digimon was when his still newly initiated partner came down with a nasty stomach bug.
"Well, they've got their parents, right? Plus each other," Leith pointed out, "I'm sure you guys wouldn't just take off if they urgently needed you. If you guys aren't already doing anything, wanna come with us?"

Lantis's face stretched into a smile at Shoutmon's words. "For you~" he answered, giving a gentle purr.
"Oh geez, here we go with the baneposting" Bellamy exclaimed, rolling his eyes. "Wait why am I sayin' "posting"?" Well, that was a question for the ages.
The next part of the statement, to keep the "furry" away from the "furry" caused a little bit of confusion among Luke and Bellamy. Especially when Lantis turned to Shoutmon again with a raised eyebrow and a grin. "Oh, are you implying that'll be a bad thing?" he asked playfully, then gave a wink at Leith. The others still not getting it, Lantis eventually felt he needed to break the impasse with Luke and Bellamy.
"So, uh, I think he means, that, Leith is a human that... "likes" digimon like me?" he explained. Both of them blinked for a moment before they realized all at once.
"Ah, right, okay, that's fine with us!" Bellamy assured the others. "Heh, surprised there ain't more of you humans that appreciate us smexy digimon, heheh! Not that I'm that way inclined myself, I only like other digimon that way, but I'm okay with that"
Luke knew a little more about why exactly humans didn't think that, so he simply chose to prod Bellamy in the shoulder to dissuade him from saying much more than that again until he was truly knowledgeable in that sort of thing. Thankfully the derailed conversation went back to topic when Veemon said they were heading to a beachside cafe that sounded like it would fit all of their expectations.
"Oh hey, that sounds sweet!" Bellamy immediately said. To Veemon's concerns, he waved his hand a little to dismiss them. "It's fine. Colin's got his folks lookin' after him. Plus we're goin' by digital world time here, even if we spend all night here, we'll just be gone a couple of hours for him".
They took Leith's invitation with delight. "So, sounds like that's where we're going then" Luke concluded, and they followed them to the cafe.

"OK, cool, but I gotta say something here." There was no way the young man could let this conversation continue in the direction it was going on. "First off, I'd have to be gay to be into a clearly male lion-"
"-Which he is."
"-I... OK, yeah. Wait, I mean gay, not necessarily- I mean, not that-"
"-Dude, loosen up!" Shoutmon held his two hands behind his head as if laying down and then began walking backwards again to look at Leith. "You're, like, the most uptight musician ever. Do some drugs! Get some tail! Trash a hotel room! We're rockstars now!"
"You know, he has a point," Veemon unexpectedly agreed, "About the 'fun' thing, I mean, not the... other stuff. You know, I was a fun-loving digimon when we met, and I'd love to bring out that side of me again! Maybe you try it, too?"
"Right... let's see how the weekend goes."
Apparently Leith had kept his order simple: spaghetti and meatballs which was conservative on the sauce. It wasn't quite like he'd ever had it in his home world, but perhaps that would have been an unrealistic expectation. In any case, he seemed to find it satisfying enough to eat, which itself was an accomplishment given this Tamer's palette. Veemon and Shoutmon both had decided on something Leith could neither identify nor pronounce, but it somewhat resembled some unholy combination between cake and bacon. Leith was a good enough sport to try it, but he regretted that instantly. He only swallowed because spitting in public seemed too rude.
"So, uh... Lantis. You're Colin's sister's partner. Does that mean you do that, uh... what, that Digimon police thing? What was that called?" Leith looked at Shoutmon for help. He didn't get it.
"THOR or somethin', I dunno."
"My own fault. Vee?" Shoutmon seemed to occupied by food to care about the tease.
Veemon, however, shrugged. "I forget, but that sounds like it's really hard and dangerous work! It must take strong people to do it."

Lantis's eyebrow raised high as he was told that Leith was gay, but chuckled a little as the young man seemed to be stumbling over his words. "Your partners are right, it's been a tough time for most of us. Let's simply try and have a good night shall we?"
"Yeah, that's right! Somethin' we can look back on" Bellamy concurred. Luke agreed too.
After that, the digimon trio felt free to order what they wanted. Bellamy went for some tasty prawns with a chilli sauce, Luke settled for some nice chicken fillet, while Lantis eagerly ordered himself a choice cut of steak.
As for the drinks, the three didn't have to worry about drinking in front of Colin, so they gladly ordered a bottle of red wine to share between them. During the meal, Luke noted that somehow he had been seated next to Veemon, and for some reason seemed rather shy about talking to him. Mainly because after their chat on Daedalus, Luke found him rather likeable and, if he was honest, kinda cute, but the shy little digimon was frightened something awful would happen if he made his interest known. However, after a couple of glasses, he began to relax a little.
"That's an interesting dish, Veemon, I don't think I've seen that before" the Elecmon remarked.
Meanwhile, Lantis looked up at Leith as he made conversation. Despite his little flirt earlier, the Leomon had been behaving himself, trying not to make Leith uncomfortable. So he was fine to take this slowly and see how it went.
"Yes that's right, I'm the chief digimon agent at AEGIS" the Leomon replied. "If things get really bad, which thankfully it hasn't happened yet, it's my job to be the final backup. Other than that, I mostly act as Sophie's assistant".
"And her muscle" Bellamy chipped in. "Anyone who wants to mess with AEGIS has to deal with this big kitty-boy" he patted Lantis's arm. "Wow, hard as a rock!"
"Oh, Bells" Lantis chuckled a little at the praise. He turned to Veemon. "Indeed, we do take our job seriously. Oh, and not to worry about how things are at the moment, we have enough agents to cover us while Sophie is sick and I'm away".
Lantis cut himself a piece of steak, washed it down with a sip of wine, then turned back to Leith. "So how about you, Leith? I heard Shoutmon mention you're rockstars earlier. I take it you're a musician then?" his blue eyes fixed with interest.

Something told Leith he didn't want anything like a night Bellamy wanted to look back on. In terms of drinks, Leith just had ice water. Apparently, he even thought it was important enough to make sure no lemon slice was added. Veemon had a little pop, and the both of them failed to dissuade Shoutmon from getting his own wine bottle. He was half done with it almost before Leith could pick up a fork (which beat chopsticks from his perspective!).
When asked about his dish, Veemon chuckled a little and scratched behind one of his long, floppy head appendages. "I, uh... I don't know. Some digital world food? I lived mostly in the human world at first. But, hey, it sounded good, and I'm trying new things. And you know what?" With a form, Veemon got himself a very liberal portion and gulped it right down. "It is good!" Veemon then proceeded to slide the plate a little closer and offer, "Want some?"
"Bellamy, could you have possibly chosen a more inappropriate thing to say over dinner?" Even though the words in that question sounded like a reprimand, Leith's little exhale out of his nose and half-smirk gave away that in fact he found the display a little amusing. "Jesus, though... note to self: don't fuck with AEGIS." When Lantis asked a polite question about the young man in return, Leith still seemed unusually relaxed but did also stiffen up a bit. "Heh. Yeah, I play guitar and I guess a little singing. Did the hair give it away?" The young man then pulled some out of his eyes, something that perhaps looked vain but was really a little self-conscious - an odd reaction, since that was part of the reason he kept it that way.
"He said it was because of me, you dork!" Shoutmon teased.
"Oh, uh... yeah. I'm gonna pretend that didn't happen." The embarrassed red cheeks were back, but the Tamer did a good job of not showing awkwardness otherwise. "I mean, I already played guitar in one band before these guys and... you know. Digital stuff. Then Shoutmon and I started a thing, and then a couple other Tamers joined the thing, so... I guess we're kinda in a band again." As much as it would inflate Leith's ego to go on more about it, he didn't want to look like he was getting the stereotypical musician arrogance, so he didn't go on any further than that. "It's really fun. I missed it more than, like, anything."
Shoutmon did not share those same reservations. "Haunted Threnody's blowin' up! We've been livin' in Rosewood playing for bits and a bed, now we got more instruments than we can use and studio quality singles on T-net!"
"I mean... I feel like gear in this world is a bit more afforable, too, so that helps," Leith thought he had to add for modesty's sake.

As they sat down at the table, it was noticed by Luke, Bellamy and Lantis that their acquaintances for the night were not heavy drinkers. And, if they were honest, that was perfectly okay. For Lantis, it would encourage him to not intoxicate himself too far as to lose control of himself. So, after the first bottle of wine was consumed, he ordered a simple lemonade to replace it.
Also, on the other side, Luke felt a similar way. Yes he had drank a bit to break the ice, but he didn't want to turn said ice to turn to disaster. Too much ice sinks the most unsinkable ships, as the Titanic found out. He'd simply use the warm buzzing in his mind to reassure himself that it should all be fine. Just don't be outrageous or rude and he should be fine.
Veemon answered that he didn't know what the food was, but it seemed to taste nice. Luke was surprised when Veemon offered some, then smiled. "Thanks a bunch" he said, then took a small portion to eat. Whew... the texture was unusual but the taste was brilliant. "Wow, that is good" he remarked. "Thanks for that, Veemon, do you want a bit of mine?" he offered a piece of his chicken fillet, thinking that was fair.
Bellamy, who had drunk a little more than Luke and Lantis by this point gave a grin at Leith. "Gimme a few moments and I can think of some!" he said. "Ah, just kiddin', heh"
Leith confirmed to Lantis that he was a musician. "Ah, that sounds wonderful. I wouldn't mind listening sometime" he said, then chuckled again at the mention of hair. "Yes it is a little long, for a human anyway. For me that's comparatively little hair" he ran his own fingers through the mighty mane on his head.
It seemed that Leith was rather happy about talking of music. So Lantis was interested in learning more. "Is that so? Have you made any singles yet?" he asked, curiously. "Or do you have any in progress?".
Shoutmon seemed to say that they were. And available on Tamernet no less. "Ahh, yes, Tamernet, I should ask Sophie if we can get that sometime" Lantis mused to himself. "Funny thing about that. Did you know that a technician from AEGIS was the one that made it?"
"Huh? Really?" Bellamy asked, surprised.
"Indeed. Satoshi managed to get it set up. Hopefully it's all working fine and is useful to you" Lantis continued.

The little blue digimon loved many things, including frequent naps, the taste of adventure, a low-stakes fight, and, of course, seeing his best friend smile. Leith trying not to smile too wide, like he was right about now, was just as good in Veemon's eyes. However, that was perhaps the only thing that made it higher on the list than another of Veemon's greatest pleasures in life: food.
The mini-dragon beamed like a child offered candy, feeling about the same as one, too. "Thanks Luke!" he exclaimed as he accepted a portion of it, though frankly it took restraint not to steal the whole plate.
"So you're telling me Tamernet is an AEGIS invention?"
"Nah, nah, I've seen this movie before! Big Brother makes a registry disguised as something nice, just like they put microchips and vaccines and faked the moon landing?"
"The fact that those things were technically in a documentary does not make them true. I gotta admit that I hate social media as a rule for basically every reason, but... well, I'd be broke and homeless if it weren't for you guys-" Leith glanced at Bellamy and Luke in turn, "-and you only showed up because someone told the whole world where to find me."
"Uh, we still are kinda broke and homeless?"
"We'd be more broke and homeless, not to mention constantly fighting. How broke can we be if we're taking a vacation, anyway?"Leith half-considered catching the other twins up on exactly what led the young man to take up residency in the human world and the thing that made him take a vacation, but neither of those topics were exactly cheerful, making them seem counterproductive in his mind. "Anyway. Tamernet. I guess it feels kinda good to be reminded I'm not alone here... but I kinda wish I had it when I was, you know... green."

Luke smiled back at Veemon. He was glad to see that he was enjoying their dinner. Although... Luke didn't know what to say next. He glanced at Bellamy, wondering what he would say to keep things going, then decided against it, as saying that would probably make most of the table spit out their drinks.
"So, uh..." Luke began instead, speaking a little shyly. "What kind of stuff do you like doing, Veemon?" he asked, thanking whatever gods were out there that the fur on his face was red and thus hid his blushing.
Bellamy then blinked at Shoutmon. "Uh... I got no idea what you just said there" he admitted. "Big brother?"
It seemed that the news of the Tamernet was mostly well received, although it could have been more useful earlier. "Yeah, sorry about that, Satoshi had to iron out a few bumps, last I heard from him" Lantis said.
So, Leith and Shoutmon mentioned that they were broke and homeless. Lantis gasped as he heard that. "Oh no, I'm really sorry to hear that" he said with genuine worry. "Are you handling things okay? Is there anything we can do to help?"

Oh, boy. Funny enough, Leith wasn't the one who completely ruined the conversation for once. He was trying to be positive, but Shoutmon had to go and do that. Now the lion digimon, without context, was really freaking out. Leith had to shut that down fast as he could. "It's not as bad as it sounds. Like, not even close. I mean... it was, no doubt, but now, like... I dunno. I've got a reliable roof over our heads, enough to eat, and a couple good friends." Leith glanced at Veemon and Shoutmon in turn before intentionally putting a surprised look in his face. This was so he could pretend to only just realize, "Oh, yeah, and those guys," with the implication they weren't the good friends he meant.
They took this with good humor, meaning they probably knew nothing was meant by it. Veemon smiled and chuckled a little while Shoutmon issued a, "Oh, fuck you!" with an odd hint of playfulness given his language.
"But I think we've got what we really need." "I mean, if you're offering free money-"
"-then we'd be too proud to accept it. But... really. I mean, to you I'm still kind of a stranger, so the fact that you just offer something like that is... really cool." The young man smiled and bowed his head a little gratefully.
Meanwhile...
"Me? Oh, um..." Apparently Veemon found his own first answer funny because it made him chuckle a little. "I'm nothing like those two lazybones. I like to be outside! I like to run and train and explore and get in a good scrap!" Veemon clenched a fist as he finished that but also added, "But I'd prefer if it wasn't a real scrap or real danger. Just a little excitement, y'know?"

Lantis relaxed a little as he was told that it wasn't as bad as it sounded. They still had shelter, food and support from friends, so that was something, he supposed. He even chortled a little at the playful joking between Leith and Shoutmon.
Leith then stated that it was nice of him to offer help to a stranger. Lantis gently smiled in response. "That's alright. You seem to be friends with Luke and Bellamy, plus I would never turn down an opportunity to assist someone in need. But if you're certain that you're comfortable, then I won't impose anything on you that you don't want".
While the Leomon did believe in charity, he also respected peoples' pride. He had asked, and that was all he could do.
Luke listened to Veemon's likes and happy pursuits with interest. He seemed to be an outgoing digimon that liked exercise and exploration. "That sounds awesome" Luke said. "I like the same, mostly, although it's always nice settling down with a book or playing the guitar at the end of the day. And yeah, nothing like a good sparring session to get the juice flowing!" he noticed Bellamy's raised eyebrow, then realized he should probably clarify on that. "By juice I mean, uh, electricity, since I'm an Elecmon, not, juice as in..." he realized he had probably gone a little too far to salvage that sentence. "Wow, this chicken's cooked perfectly!" he said instead.
Before long, Lantis, Luke and Bellamy had finished their dinners, Bellamy giving a loud whoop as he ventured to eat the last prawn he could manage. "Whew! These things pack a punch!" he exclaimed, referring to the chilli sauce. "Anyone else want the rest?" there were three left, his mouth could take no more (of those anyway).
When that was settled, Lantis looked at the others at the table. "So, that was very nice" he said. "What shall we do next?"

"Karaoke bar!" Shoutmon, well, shouted as soon as Lantis asked the question of while his Tamer covered the check. Noticeably, Shoutmon didn't even consider using his own bits, though then again they were basically sharing between them all anyway.
"We didn't really settle on that," Leith felt the need to point out, standing up.
"Well, wanna? Come on, man, I'm thinkin' of you here."
"I..." Leith glanced at Veemon. "What do you think?"
Veemon didn't answer Leith right away. That was because, when offered the rest of Bellamy's food, he eagerly accepted it. He might have eaten more politely than Shoutmon, but he sure didn't eat slower. The only real difference between them was that Veemon neither chewed with his mouth wide open nor spoke with food still in his mouth. Therefore, Veemon politely swallowed before looking up and responding uncertainly, "I- I'm not a good singer..."
"Alright, screw this crap. Blue? Digimon meeting!" Shoutmon started to pull Veemon right out of his chair and away from the other trio.
"What're-"
"You, too, wet blanket! Meeting!" Well, what choice did Leith have? He followed. It looked a lot like Shoutmon was scolding the others for something, but they were too far out of earshot for hearing, so Shoutmon hoped. At least their little private meeting didn't last too long; within two minutes they returned with Shoutmon proclaiming, "So, you guys up for the karaoke bar thing or what?"
"You two are such fucking morons."
"You're a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, Shout."
"Ugh! Look!" While looking at Veemon, Shoutmon inclined his head toward Luke. "Are you tellin' me you can't tell he's into you? He's lookin' at you the way Leith looks at pizza."
"Ray of sunshine."
"Hey, you're just as bad, you know." Uh-oh. Leith knew where this was going before it even got there. "Mufasa over there wants to make you his little-"
"Please do not ruin my childhood for the sake of your rant."
Surprisingly, Shoutmon agreed to this. "Look: you need to go to karaoke because Luke likes music, and you gotta do what he likes if you want a shot!" Apparently, Veemon's scales were no defense from blushing; those blue cheeks turned a slight purple. "And you would drive that lion insane with the right song. Can't actually tell if he wants you for a night or for longer, but if you want a shot-"
"Did you ever stop to consider that I might not 'want a shot?'"
Shoutmon crossed his arms. "Very funny." Leith couldn't push back; he was just too stunned about being called on his bull. "We're gonna ask 'em to go. If you have a problem with that, stop me before I do."
Nobody stopped him.

Lantis was surprised when Leith covered all of the cost of the dinner, he wasn't seriously expecting that. "Oh... gosh, did you mean to do that?" he asked. He would be willing to eagerly split the bill for doing so, but, if Leith had meant that as a friendly gesture, he would be quite happy to receive such a gift.
Luke and Bellamy felt the same. While they were sure Colin would insist on paying if he was here, well, he wasn't, so they'd chalk this one down as a great thing for him to do.
After they left the cafe, it seemed their next destination would be the karaoke bar. "Hah! Yeah, that's a perfect idea!" Bellamy said, loving the idea of singing. Karaoke in Whitewater was one of his favourite things to do. Luke rather enjoyed it as well, although it wasn't something Lantis had done before. Still, seeing how others seemed to like the idea, he'd be glad to go along with it.
"I don't think I've ever sung before though" he admitted.
"Ah don't worry about it big guy, I've seen you at parties before, give it a minute and you'll be up there shakin' your leather-clad tushie" Bellamy laughed. It was then that he noticed that Shoutmon had pulled the others away for a moment. "Huh, wonder what they're talkin' about?" the Impmon wondered, then shrugged.
While they were away, Bellamy looked to his brother. "So... how's it goin' with Veemon eh?" he asked.
"Well, um, I don't know... I want to make him know I'm interested, but, don't wanna sound like a creeper either" Luke admitted. "Plus... uh, don't you think he'd think it's... weird that I'd find him cute? Oh god what if he says no? Or he's already taken..."
"Lukey, calm down there, pal, you're thinkin' about it too much as usual" Bellamy reassured him. "Just relax, let things flow, if it works out, great, if it doesn't, oh well, move on. It took me a few goes before I settled down on Coronamon remember?"
"Yeah, after you flirted with half the digital world" Luke pointed out.
"Well, true, but, that just meant half the digital world didn't want me so I respected their decisions" Bellamy shrugged. "But you ain't gonna find out if ya don't ask"
Luke actually didn't have anything to say to that, so he just nodded and smiled. Then the others returned and asked if they were going to the karaoke bar. "Hell yeah we're goin'!" Bellamy answered, and they would follow them straight to it.
