Aah, nothing quite like a day in the Binary Archipelago. It was 11:30 AM in the Digital World, and the weather was absolutely perfect today! The sun was shining, not a single cloud in the sky, and it was decently warm without being so freaking hot. The perfect day for a swim!
And that's what Adrian and Shoutmon had planned, as they were waiting for their friends Leith and his Digimon, Veemon and Shoutmon, to join them. Adrian was a bit nervous, however; Leith was still mad at him about something he had every right to be mad about. He just wanted to make it up to Leith.
"Think they'll be here soon?" Adrian asked Shoutmon as he lifted his goggles from his eyes. At the moment, he was wearing a tan T-Shirt with brown tropical swimtrunks with green leaves and palm trees on it.
"If they're riding Sonoramon, they should be," Shoutmon shrugs, putting his snorkeling gear on. "Come on, they don't HATE us yet, they're just a bit... miffed. We just won't involve them anymore, y'know?"
"Yeah... yeah, I guess you're right, Shoutmon."

Leith's own wardrobe was more casual than usual, too. In fact, this day, he wasn't even wearing a metal band's T-shirt. He was, however, in a dressed in a black and white swim shirt along with black camouflage swim trunks. The black theme continued with black swimming goggles whose lenses were even tinted black, plus the gloves he wore for riding. As for his glasses? Well, thank God for the Infiniti-store. Just over the horizon, maybe Shoutmon and Adrian were able to spot two small, distant bird-like figures in the distance, but in reality these were two dragons.
"You still gonna do the thing Sonoramon?" Leith shouted from ExVeemon's back. Knowing what was coming, he wisely chose his ride.
"You know it!"
"You might wanna be quick, then! That water is starting to get a bit shallow, I bet!"
"Nah, we're good! Woo!" Sonoramon let out a loud cheer as he devolved from that form down to rookie Shoutmon. From Leith's perspective he seemed to hit an invisible wall when in reality he was just speeding past the digimon. Why? Because Shoutmon couldn't resist diving out of the sky and into the ocean, something on which Leith didn't have the courage to join him no matter how hard he pushed.
"God, that guy's nuts."
"Hey, only reason I'm not doing it is I'm carrying you."
"Believe me, I appreciate that very much." When Exveemon landed on the shore, he knelt down and plucked Leith off his back in a closed fist but with the young man's arms free, a procedure they had made sure to practice for the sake of both safety and comfort. ExVeemon let his Tamer go once both bare feet were in the sand, at which point Leith stored his gloves in his digivice. "Thanks a ton for the lift, Vee," Leith thanked before addressing the other Tamer/digimon pair. "What's goin' on, guys?"
"How've you been?" ExVeemon added without stopping kneeling.

Adrian and Shoutmon began to hear something as they were waiting for Leith and the others. They looked up at the sky over the ocean and found the source of the noise: they saw a small red Digimon falling straight into the ocean.
And there they are... Adrian and Shoutmon both thought. Eventually, they saw ExVeemon fly down right by the Tamer and Digimon, letting Leith onto the ground. They both seemed relatively happy to see the pair, although that could just be politeness...
Adrian wasn't entirely sure, so he just decided to act friendly as well. "Hey, Leith... I see Red over there is just jumping straight in," he says, referring to the freefalling red Shoutmon.
"Yeah, why didn't I think of that?!" Shoutmon exclaimed. An idea forming, he then turned to ExVeemon. "Hey Blue, you wanna give me a ride up there as well?"
"Blue?" Adrian asked, raising an eyebrow. "Why not just call him by his name?"
"We call Leith's Shoutmon 'Red,' so it makes sense to call him Blue, doesn't it?" Shoutmon didn't really see a flaw to this logic at all.

Leith couldn't help himself. Hearing Shoutmon refer to Veemon as 'Blue' got a guffaw out of the Tamer that he failed to stifle in time by covering his mouth. ExVeemon, in turn, seemed to turn a darker shade of blue around the cheek area. Leith was tempted a moment to ask if one of those five who knew what happened in Whitewater blabbed to Adrian, but Shoutmon went ahead and explained himself before. Oooh... should I tell 'em? It didn't take Leith very long to shut that thought down. ...Nah. They know a lot of my secrets, but I think I'll keep that one a little longer.
The color only began to drain from ExVeemon's face after an explanation was given. Then he visibly relaxed. "You wanna go, too? Alright. First you, then me!" ExVeemon reached out to pick Shoutmon up off the ground like he did for Leith then, as it was more comfortable for him than laying down prone in ExVeemon form. Should Shoutmon have allowed that, he'd then let the red digimon out of his gentle grip between ExVeemon's shoulder blades, at which point he'd take off, fly out nice and far over the ocean, and suddenly roll over.
"Yeah... I guess that makes sense." Leith gulped before a burning question just had to come out. "So. Genocidal chevaliers and their boss is that guy. That's where we left off. Can you tell me anything new?"

Adrian and Shoutmon looked at each other in confusion with Leith laughing and ExVeemon blushing. If it were an anime, they'd be sweatdropping and giant question marks would be floating around their heads. Was it something one of them had said? They'd never find out, it seems...
Shoutmon happily hopped onto ExVeemon's hands and felt a blast of air as he took off. At one point, ExVeemon began to do a barrel roll, causing Shoutmon to slide casually out of the champion's grasp and begin diving at full speed.
"WHOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! I'M FREE-FALLING, BIYOMOOOOOOONS!" Shoutmon screamed as he plummeted down into the ocean, being cut off by a big splash and joining up with Red.
Man, this was already going so well! Then Leith had to ruin it all by bringing up the forbidden subject. Adrian was caught off guard so badly that he nearly fell right over. After regaining his balance, he looked back at Leith. "Dude... not now. Today's supposed to be a day of carefree fun in the Digital World, not dwindling over crap like that... if you have to know, we'll talk on Tamernet later."

"Damnit, Adrian." Leith hissed under his breath to try and avoid startling either other their digimon or other beachgoers. "...This isn't the kind of shit you can talk about online." Angry as Leith wanted to be, he was distracted enough to look over his shoulder when ExVeemon, without devolving, loudly whooped before looping backwards and letting himself fall headfirst into the water. Between his size and wingspan, that made a splash that really disturbed the water, not to mention the Shoutmons so nearby. At least someone's having a good time, Leith quipped in his own mind. That sight, however, made him reconsider the urgency of the situation. "Alright, you know what? Let's hang out and have a good time like you wanted. But, dude, you know this isn't the kind of thing I can just put off, right?"
On that note, Leith backed away and with his right hand alone removed his shirt, which hid a predictably lithe abdomen beneath it. With the left hand, or arm, he used the Infiniti-store to tuck it away. "You know what? That's definitely my favorite plugin, hands down," Leith decided before he began wading into the water. "'Ey! Vee! Let's just hope we don't meet a Whamon this time, eh?" he shouted after the digimon on his way.
ExVeemon did end up devolving, but not until he surfaced, at which point he was laughing like he'd just gotten off a wild roller coaster.

"Well, it's not exactly the kind of shit you talk about during a day at the beach," Adrian argued back. Just like Leith, he was distracted when he saw ExVeemon splash right into the water, splashing all the nearby Digimon, including Shoutmon himself.
"Augh! Saltwater in my mouth!" Shoutmon yells, coughing a bit.
"Let's stop arguing and let's start having some fun," Adrian says, taking off his own T-Shirt and leaving it by the rest of his stuff, which was on a towel in the sand (right next to a shady tree.) He pulled his goggles over his eyes and waded into the water as well.
Adrian took notice on how the water reacted. It wasn't like back home. The waves looked a lot more digital, like a digital wave of pixels replacing normal waves. He moved his hand a bit in the water closer to the deeper end, and the waves following it was the same story. A literal digital ocean.
The Digital World always found new ways to amaze him.
When Veemon rose up, Shoutmon immediately splashed him and began to swim away. "Blue's it! Blue's it!"

"Deal, then. We put a temporary pin in this." Leith agreed that as he lowered his black goggles and got out far enough to start having to tread water instead of standing on sand. "You know what? I'm not gonna lie: I come from a little money. My parents used to take me on vacations to the Caribbean and stuff every year, and you know what? I really, really hated it." Somehow Leith managed to say that with an oddly wide grin on his face. "Somehow it feels better, traveling on my terms to my destinations for my reasons. And, uh... the company doesn't hurt either."
Leith said that just as Veemon recovered from the surprise of being splashed. "What're you doing?"
"Hell if I know, but I'm in!" Shoutmon declared before throwing his own splash at Veemon.
Veemon's response was to dive underneath the water, where no one could hear him declare, "Vee Headbutt!" and drive for the surface. Headfirst he broke it, giving himself enough force to splash everything in front of himself, which he intended to be both of the Shoutmons.

"You went to the Caribbean? Lucky," Adrian stated, a bit jealous. With a mischievous grin, Adrian then added: "Did you see any pirates there, by any chance? One with the name: 'Sparrow, Jack?'" Hopefully, Leith would get this reference.
When Veemon asked what Shoutmon was doing, the latter easily responded: "It's either just splash fight or splash tag. You decide!" Shoutmon laughed when Red began to splash Veemon, as well. "See, Red has the right idea!"
Both Shoutmons would soon come to regret it, however, when Veemon jumped into the air and Vee Headbutt-ed the water, creating a huge wave that splashed both the red dragons. Shoutmon was even pushed back quite aways as he got splashed. "Wheeeee!"
"I wanna join in what they're doing," Adrian laughed, swimming faster and attempting to join the Digimon's splash fight. "Got room for one more?"

"I didn't see Jack Sparrow in the Caribbean, Adrian," Leith tilted his head and snickered. Apparently he did get the reference. Just to try and make Adrian jealous, though, he called after the other Tamer, "But he was at Disney World!" as Adrian began swimming in the other direction. However, he apparently didn't care to get in a splash fight a few dozen feet farther out to shore where the others could be dropped safely. So, while Leith did follow Adrian out, he tried his best to keep his distance to be a passive spectator instead. Why? Adrian must have a short memory; if those two digivolve to their farthest, they'll wreck Adrian and Shoutmon in a splash fight real fast.
But they didn't go down that route, apparently. Shoutmon stayed Shoutmon, and Veemon stayed Veemon as the latter decided, "Sure, you can join! Apparently it's splash tag, so the Shoutmon's are both 'it.'" At that, one Shoutmon glanced at the other and smirked good and wide. He tried to nonverbally signal his opposite to prepare a big, simultaneous splash toward Adrian.

Adrian laughed, happy that Leith had gotten his reference. Sadly that laughter was cut short when Leith casually mentions that he went to Disney World, which caused Adrian to give him the middle finger in response.
Adrian's family didn't go on vacation that often, usually due to a lack of money... a drop in the full bucket of water that was Adrian's previous shitty life.
When the Tamer swam up to the rest of the group, Veemon explained that they were playing Splash Tag, and that both of the Shoutmon were it. Before Adrian could explain that that wasn't how tag worked, both the Shoutmons combined their splashes to send one big splash at Adrian.
"Ack!" Adrian yelped as he was splashed, not expecting it to happen at all. Shoutmon laughed wildly at the combined splash attack they managed to pull on the human.
"Gotcha!" Shoutmon laughed. Suddenly, Adrian turns around and splashes Shoutmon back.
"Nah, that's MY line," Adrian quipped as he immediately swam away.

"Ha!" the young man cried out in response to the middle finger, personally finding it hilarious. Leith's family loved traveling a whole lot more than he did, so he was often dragged along on their trips. Ever the sedentary type, Leith preferred staying home all day over seeing the world, part of why the move to Japan went so poorly for him.
Soon as Adrian got completely soaked, Shoutmon, 'Red,' let out his own, "Ha!" along with a second snicker when the other Shoutmon got tagged right back. Just about then, Shoutmon thought of a dirty little trick. So, while he thought nobody was looking, he suddenly began to dive nice and deep. The water was way too clear for him to be completely invisible, but someone would have to look straight down to notice exactly where he was. Meanwhile, Veemon made himself busy by trying to avoid whatever splashes would come next and Leith just tried to keep watching without getting involved.
What're you up to, Shout...?

As Adrian was laughing and swimming away, he noticed Red doing something awfully peculiar. He was swimming deeper and deeper into the ocean, He looked down at Red as he swam to his destination.
Was he planning to grab someone's leg? That was Adrian's first thought, but there could be loads of other tricks he could've been planning. He just decided to wait and see what he was going to do, out of morbid curiosity; a mind-reader or fortune teller he was not.
Back with Shoutmon, he spotted Veemon trying to swim away. They were a bit of a distance from each other currently, but that was going to change. Shoutmon summoned his mic and began to spin it in the water as fast as he could. Eventually, the rapid spinning caused Shoutmon to be pushed backward, zooming right towards Veemon.
As soon as he was close enough, he'd stop spinning his mic for a second and splashed Veemon with it. "Innovative, huh?" Shoutmon says, using the same tactic as before to swim away.
"Just casually defying the laws of physics, I see," Adrian chuckles as he notices what Shoutmon is doing.

Veemon was quick on the uptake: it didn't take more than a couple of spins of Shoutmon's mic stand for him to realize what was going on and try and avoid it. He was not, however, quick in terms of physical velocity, at least not quick enough. Veemon did try and kick away from the rapidly approaching Shoutmon, but given the difference in speed he might as well have stayed put. The end result was that Veemon indeed got tagged and couldn't even get off a counterattack before Shoutmon managed to rush away. "Hey!" he claimed with facetious indignation.
Leith couldn't help chuckling at just what an effort the other Shoutmon was putting into this... until his digivice beeped a couple of times calmly. So he checked the little device on his wrist, and- "Oh, shit!" he mumbled to himself at the sight of the message. He knew he had to flee fast, so for no apparent reason - at least at first - he made a frantic break to get closer to shore, close enough that no digimon could hide under his feet.
Adrian, of course, couldn't see the warning that Leith's Shoutmon had armor digivolved to RedMantaraymon. Maybe if hehis Shoutmon were especially observant they could catch the light of digivolution shining faintly from beneath them, but would they be quick enough to avoid what was coming? Leith thought it was doubtful; he knew that eight-yard-long creature was about perfectly built for a giant splash. Leith had managed to evacuate the area in time so that when RedMantaraymon jumped and flopped back down, he was barely lifted by the 360-degree massive wave. Veemon, however was not, yelping in surprise as he got absolutely soaked.

"It seems that I am a master of both fire and water," Shoutmon was laughing as he cruised through the ocean with his weird microphone trick that he was doing. This was actually the first time he had tried out the trick, and he just thought of it on the spot! Why didn't he think of this sooner!?
"Hey, Leith, you're missing ou- Leith?" Adrian tried calling out to the other Tamer, but was confused when he saw him swimming back to shore. What was up with him? Then Adrian remembered seeing Red swim down into the ocean. Curiously, Adrian looked down as well.
"Oh shit shit SHIIIIT!" Adrian yelled as he attempted to swim away as well. He didn't make it too terribly far when RedMantaraymon jumped out of the ocean, completely taking Shoutmon by surprise. When it flopped back into the water, it created a huge wave that pushed both Adrian and Shoutmon so hard that he practically flew right back to shore, his face slamming right into the sand.
"Okay... NOT what I had in mind for today," Adrian groaned as he got up. "I legit should have seen that coming..."
