Solomon nodded.
"As many bad people exist in the Digital World, as many good people exist, too. You were lucky that you met the latter first."
He stroked his chin.
"And now you three are just exploring?"
Ayumi giggled. She was quite giddy to find someone so willing to listen to her!
"Oh, oh, I would never harm someone for my research! I mean, not without their consent if the experiment requires it, but I'd never hurt them for nothing! My ultimate goal is a database of knowledge, available to everyone who wants to learn! Maybe if we fully understand this world we can keep it safe better, and maybe reduce conflict!"

Eleonora listen to Solomon's words, he was right she was lucky of meeting Kazuya and Royland if it wasn't for them she probably would still freaking out and won't even listen to the twins, she finally nodded answering the dinosaurs question
“Yes, for now just exploring, I want to get use to this world and all the surprises it can throw at me, you could say I’m doing a… Tactical scouting? I’m sure there's a military sounding word for this but aside from them calling me general I know nothing about military things” she chuckles
The gears were happy to hear that Ayumi had a noble goal, surely gathering knowledge and sharing it to help others understand the digital world and its inhabitants was nice, after all we fear the most to what we can't understand, as much as humans are scare of Digimon, they also can be scare of humans especially if they never meet one.
“That is indeed a noble goal, we appreciate your sincerity and we hope you can achieve your dream someday”
“If we can help in any way don't doubt asking”

The dragon nodded.
"No doubt, being a general and using militaristic vocabulary makes as much sense as me and Ayumi using scientific vocabulary. And there is no doubt to be on guard, as this world holds as many dangers as it holds wonders..."
He looked wistfully into the fire.
Ayumi smiled at the eagerness of the gears.
"Well, the best thing you could do would be to allow me to examine you in my lab at the library, so that I can learn more about XRos Evolution functions! Digivolution is a process that still holds many mysteries to us!"

Well that's one thing they kinda can agree, while it make sense those two use scientific vocabulary due to being researchers, Eleonora wasn't really a general she was just a girl that end up involve in this crazy world, but hey maybe in the future she will accept this title having a big unit to take down anything on her path, accomplish her goals or just help those in need.
"I guess it make sense yes, but I don't believe I'm the best fit for the rol I know nothing about war or command a big group" The blonde confessed "I got lucky this two are very loyal and act without questioning but we are yet to have a real big adventure or fight, so I don't know how will I develop on a situation like that, I'm really bad at taking "now or never" decisions"
That was something Eleonora always struggle, having the pressure on her back knowing that if she makes the wrong decision everything can end horribly bad, as much of a tough act she shows the German can't keep it when pressure gets her, again maybe her adventures in the future will help her overcome this, as a general she needs to remain calm and collected analyzing the best possible outcome to guide the army to victory.
"Anyways, what were you guys researching here?" She asked eating another marshmallow
The gears kept listening to Ayumi, examination was kind of a weird subject for both, they have been examinated, researched and experimented on several times before escaping that group known as Decode Network, while Ayumi looks much better than that organization they are still a little uncomfortable with the subject.
"It all will depend on the type of examination, we are not very fond of being analyzed"
"Also it would be more helpful for both parties if we do it after we got a partner to DigiXros"
"Yes it will be easier to study when we can actually do a DigiXros and study the process"

Solomon nodded once more.
"You may claim inexperience now, but there is no better school than reality, no better teacher than circumstance. With time, you will become a better general, and look back at these times with humour."
As for Ayumi, she nodded at the gears.
"Alright, I'd be most happy to have you once you have a new army member! I'd love to help, but I don't even understand what constitutes a good army member yet..."
She then turned to Eleonora, who asked what they were researching.
"Eh? Oh, we were researching the arboreal environment at night, to test whether it conforms to the rules of ecology outside or if they have their own rules!"
"Meaning we were testing if forests at night work the same here as in the real world."
"Uh, yeah, like that."
If Solomon could move his face he'd be smirking.

Solomon's words were wise befitting of his name, wonder if that's just a coincidence? In anycase the purple dragon was right, she just needs time to gather experience and what better than the digital world itself, while this can be consider an "adventure" for the German, being camping on a forest doesn't actually get you experience commanding a group of digimon, although it does help to get to know her partners so maybe she'll do it again on the future.
"That's true I guess I could explore deeper into the forest or accept bodyguard jobs or something, anything that can give me a little fighting experience, I also need to start recruiting more people to the group"
And that's a completely can of worms on itself, how is she going to recruit digimon? You can't just go and ask them "Hey I have an army wanna be part of it?", the blonde sighed and ate another marshmallow
"What constitute a good army member is unclear to us too"
"Less what constitutes a good Xros Partner, there are so many variables and we are not sure whith who we might be compatible"
"Specially when the number of the army can go up to 12 members and us two making a total of 14"
"Yeah... Don't remind me about that..." The mention of that big number send shivers down Leo's back. "And I love to visit your library and help you research the Xros Evolution once I have at least one more member. OH RIGHT! You wanted to draw this" She pull the Xros Loader and hand it to the girl "I don't know much about this devices, but it does look extremely different from the one Tamers use, so if you find something interesting about it you can tell me" Eleonora smile warmly

Ayumi happily received the XRos loader.
"Aaaaaaaaah, thank you so much! The sketches will help me study the outside while you're not around!"
She put it down gently, and pulled a sketchbook out of her backpack, opening it and eagerly sketching the loader.
"That XRos fusion is less defined and foreseeable than even regular Digivolution is quite intriguing.", Solomon replied to the gears for Ayumi, who was too busy doodling.
"But Ayumi has very sophisticated equipment at her lab, it could help us unveil a thing or two. Until then..."
He stretched.
"Does anyone have crackers and chocolate? I could prepare an American snack for us."

Eleonora smiled as Ayumi took the Xros Loader and started sketching it, she look like a little girl that got a new toy and the German found that cute, she can't blame her tho she's a researcher and for what little she knows Xros General are not that common, so this must be one of the first time she gets to have a Xros Loader to study
"Indeed, I find the process of digievolution interesting and mysterious, which is why I'd love to learn a little bit about it yet it feels like no matter how many times some one explains it I won't be able to fully grasp the core concept" Eleonora nodded in agreement with Solomon, she then reached for her backpack and look inside "Yeah I got some animal crackers and a pair of chocolate bars, would it be good enough?"
The gears on the other hand stood next to Ayumi and help her take notes while she sketched, while they didn't fully know the ins and outs of the Xros Loader they do had some information that the researcher might like to add to her notes
"As you see the Xros Loader has just two buttons that are the wheel use to scroll through menus and selecting digimon of the army, and the button in the middle use to confirm the selection"
"This makes it easy to navigate with one hand and keep an eye on the status of the army, also much like some digivice it is capable of reading cards/chips to enhance the army strength, although it seems to be disable for the moment"
"Finally it comes with the V-Pet Functionality already installed, whoever designed the Xros Loader knew the sheer size of the army could get troublesome and make it so they already can fit in the device"
As the gears speak, a new question pop up in the head of the German, something she didn't thought up until now as she kinda has an idea of who created her Xros Loader, but the model had to come from somewhere right?
"Do we know who made the digivices? Like who thought of the different variants and came up with the models and the different purpose of each one?"

Ayumi nodded and took generous notes as the gears explained everything to her. Just getting the chance to study and sketch a new type of Digivice was sending the girl into a cheerful frenzy.
Solomon nodded as he took the crackers and chocolate bars.
"It is not much, but restriction breeds creativity."
So, making a crude grill from cables in Ayumi's Infinistorage, Solomon pulled pieces out of the marshmallow and formed them into small spheres which he warmed over the fire, alongside small pieces of the chocolate bars. Once warm enough, he assembled them with the animal crackers into tiny, bitesize s'mores.
"Here. Careful, they are hot."
Upon being asked a question, Ayumi looked up.
"Eh? Who made them? Er, well, that's hard to say. There are multiple legends surrounding them, like the one where the Sovereigns made them, or others speak of an entity called Yggdrasil which made the Digivices to help keep the Digital World safe but which later turned against humanity, and further others claim they are spontaneously created by the Digital World itself as a sort-of self-defense mechanism whenever a human passes in. Its hard to find conclusive proof for any of these legends, the whole field is still full of mysteries!"

Leo nodded and carefully took the snack made by Solomon and ate as she listen to Ayumi's explanation about who made the digital devices and figures... Much like anything related to the digital world it seems this too was shrouded in mystery and different possibilities as to who was the actual one.
"The history of the digital world is truly ambiguous"
"Even with our knowledge and data banks pointing concrete things it's hard"
"We have data and profiles about the sovereigns but whether they are real or not is still unknown"
"Yggdrassil is an even more elusive figure, yet is more accepted as a god and many digimon believe on it like one"
"Hopefully the club will find answer to these mysteries so we can update our data banks!"
Listen to all this Elonora smiled it seems that the digital world it's bigger than it looks like and hides a lot of secrets, she can definitely see why a person like Ayumi would like to uncover those mysteries, it does sound fun yet and that makes the German wonder how much progress the club of the girl has made
"I see, it's certainly interesting and I wish you good luck with all your research, I do want to know tho, so far what was the biggest discovery you guys made?" She ask with a smile on her face "I would love to know something more concrete about this world" Not that the gears didn't explain things to her, but they kinda never stop rambling so maybe another human explaining to her will help her understand this world a little more

Solomon nodded.
"Indeed, the Digital World appears to not be lacking in origins and dieties, and pantheons too."
He would rather not elaborate on -his- part in one of the many pantheons, though.
Ayumi tapped her chin. The biggest discovery so far? That was easy.
"Well, so far we got two huge discoveries, though one's still in its infancy! The first was that we discovered fossils, which should not be able to exist by the logic of the Digital World! Their existence implies a lot about this world, and a potential application of the Anthropic Principle!
The other, much more recent one, is a shard realm hidden deep beneath Old Terminus! So far I only managed to detect the existence of it, I am still trying to find out what it is and where it is!"

Leo listen to what the gears said about the figures Ayumi mention and then the commment of Solomon just made lot of more questions pop in her head, if there are so many powerful legendary digimon and pantheons how do they do to coexist without being at each others throat for clashing ideals? Are really that storng to be compare to gods? the more she thinks about this the more hard it gets to understand this world
"It's going to take a while to get use to this world I see..." The German sighed
The Gears on the other hand focus on the discoveries mention by Ayumi and her group, fossils of digimon? That sounded like one of the biggest discoveries on this world, specially since digimon of the old age have been gone for quite a while the fact that they leave a fossil instead of being deleted really got their attention
"We have heard tales of the old age of the digital world and how digimon use to have smaller life span"
"The creation of the Digimental is linked to the desire of the old digimon to expand their life and get stronger"
"The discovery of those fossils might help unravel a little more about the old age and how Digimon use to live
"Once we help to study the DigiXros we would like to check those fossils and see if we can help in any way possible with their investigation"
"I agree, we should definitely pay a visit to the library one day"
That said, all the info dump while interesting and Eleonora was enjoying it she was feeling a little sleepy now, maybe they could keep going tomorrow if they decide to spend the night, or in another moment if they leave surely they'll meet again in the future, for now Eleonora would wait for Ayumi to finish sketching the Xros Loader
"Will you spend the rest of the night with us or are going to keep investigating?" Leo ask with a smile
