MPC Name: Bounty Hunters (Wild Card) +
Campfire Tales
MPC Number: 55X (MPC40: Bounty Hunters) & 55A
Reward Requested: Posts
This is a combined MPC for MPC55X (MPC40) and MPC55A. Since the plots for both MPCs are connected I decided to do them inside the same thread, but they're separated by two different posts.
Like any Tsukiko MPC these are completely canon and have a first-person narrative.
PART I (MPC55X):
My faithful digimon partner, Mitsuharu, about to slay a wanted criminal that’s actually… an old lady!? Boy, I’m really going to need to give you guys some context on this one, right? Well, let’s see how I can handle explaining how things got to... this.
A lot had happened since I had my first encounter with a digimon and learned about these wonderful creatures and the definitely-not-short of mysteries world they lived in. I was now a (sort of) experienced tamer, who had learned a lot about this marvelous place and its inhabitants, had a digivice and even a well-trained Bushi Agumon, called Mitsuharu.
So you don’t believe me, huh? Okay, okay, I know I might have been a little dense and naïve at the start, just a little! But now I was getting stronger by every day I passed inside the Digital World along Mitsuharu and doing these bounty hunter jobs.
Ups, I went too fast there for a second again, didn’t I? Okay, let me try to go slower here. Yes, I’m inside the Digital World! The reason? Adventure! That’s what I’ve always loved, exploring and discovering new places, and if now I could do it with my own dinosaur samurai, why the hell not!? After learning about how time went by slower at the Human World, I figured I could spend at least a month discovering Mitsuharu’s home. Just like that, I followed Kazuya’s instructions and there I was: inside this alternative digital dimension... thing.
Now, regarding the bounty hunting: yes, Mitsuharu and I had decided to dabble in these sort of jobs after finding our first ‘Wanted’ poster around some old ruins in the middle of the desert. From there, we went to Rustport Town, an abandoned wild-wild-west styled village not too far from there. We got the guy and collected the bounty. In all honesty, it was a good way of making money without hurting anyone (who didn’t deserve it) and knowing more of this world while we were at it, so it was a win-win endeavor, really!
Anyways, that’s enough for summarizing, isn’t it? We basically went into the hunting of some beautiful digimon criminal. It didn’t take us much to find her, as she was resting in some sort of oasis in the desert. It was like a giant crystalline blue pool, reflecting the very intense moonlight that shined above it. It was located on the outsides of Rustport, just right in the middle of… a lot of sand.
Originally, this criminal had a beautiful figure and looked like a Persian cat or something of the sort.
She tried to convince us to leave her alone by using her charms in Mitsuharu who, at first, had immediately flirted at her; since you know he is kind of weak towards ladies. Of course, once the things got real, Mitsuharu tried to fight her but…
Some sort of old-lady-like digimon the digivice immediately identified as Babamon came out!
“What the…!? Who are you!?” Saying that I was unable to give any credit to what my eyes were seeing is probably an understatement, this beautiful red haired gypsy cat had turned into an elder!
“Some sort of illusive technique?” Mitsuharu clenched his teeth, staring at the enemy. He was confused, alright? He just wasn’t about showing it.
“HOW THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT!?” Maybe I could learn a little from him. It was pretty clear that I was startled.
In a swift movement, the Babamon simply appeared in front of the samurai and struck him with some old cane she was holding, right into his stomach, taking his air out. It was so quick but with such might! She then kicked him with a powerful swing, sending him right into the pond.
“Mitsuharu!” I could only yell, sort of clueless on what to do. The truth was that in just a couple of movements this grandma had proven to be stronger than my digimon. And we were prepared for this, of course! Hell, the first enemy we ever fought together was stronger than my partner, so we knew some more strong guys could come our way eventually, but… Maybe it was just that everything regarding this lady simple astonished us. She then turned at me, I could sense her eyes above my existence, even though I couldn’t really see them, since her silver hair was covering them. When she opened her mouth to utter words, I could notice she had pointy creepy teeth, like the mouth some sort of monster.
-Pink… hair? –She simply asked, not really expecting an answer, apparently. The woman started walking toward me. This wasn’t the first time I felt something like this; this digimon irradiated power, her energy was almost as it had a sole presence around the air; like she had an aura that was applying some sort of pressure in my head and body. Had Mitsuharu and I bit more than we could chew? The answer was definitely yes, I’m sure at that moment my deep blue eyes were showing how I knew that it didn’t matter what we tried, we couldn’t beat this Babamon. And she was very aware of this, I could feel it.
Just as I expected, Mitsuharu jumped out of the water, his body covering the bright moon for a second, to then slam his blade against the digimon in some sort of surprise, yet righteous, technique since their fight hadn’t ended, in all honesty. The grandma immediately turned towards him, and stopped his blade with her cane, to then send him back.
“You really care… “She started speaking again, a high pitch, elder-like voice, with a very slow pacing. “… About this human lady, don’t you?” The creature asked, Mitsuharu’s eyes widening after such query coming from his enemy during this fierce battle.
Without issuing any kind of answer, Mitsuharu just charged his blade, and dashed towards her, trying to hit her again. The criminal jumped in a quick movement, almost with my eye being unable to catch her movement, she appeared behind the samurai, kicking him and throwing him against me. This time the hit didn’t seem to have been issued with much strength.
“You are a smart digimon. That much I can tell.” The elder gazed at Mitsuharu as she spoke, very calmly.” So you know you can’t beat me, and yet you keep fighting…“She couldn’t be more right, but still, I wouldn’t expect less from my partner. “What is it? Is it the sole desire to protect this human?” The digimon asked out loud, to then answer herself to some extent. “That has to do with it, but... there’s something more, isn’t it? What is it? I really don’t feel like you’re chasing something so insignificant like the money.” Some silence ensued. Only the wind could be heard, blowing throughout the oasis, I couldn't stop wondering what was this lady trying to accomplish. Just when it seemed like Mitsuharu wasn’t going to answer, the dinosaur muttered his first words to the woman.
“Justice.”
Just when Babamon’s eyes were about to shift towards me again, the Bushi Agumon’s words caught her attention. “Justice?” She asked, not really comprehending what he meant.
“You’re a wanted criminal.” He explained immediately. “I don’t care about the money. I just care about making justice and putting you through jail”
Some silence engulfed the oasis again. I couldn’t feel anything but pride about the digimon I had for a partner, but I was also sort of doubtful regarding what was the old lady going to do with us. This feeling only increased when she started to laugh blatantly. It was an old woman-like laughter, that resonated throughout the place, to then end in some coughing.
The grandma then started walking slowly towards one big block of sand-colored bricks, that were piled up in a small wall around my height.” If it’s justice what you’re looking for, dear…” Out of the wall, she pulled out the cat digimon we had seen in the wanted posters and in the illusion she was using before, completely tied, with her mouth covered by some sort of bandana, Babamon dragging her by her feet. “… I think you arrived just a little too late. I already took care of this one!”
