A Nice Break [Leith, Miyu]
|
Post by Toki Akiyama on Oct 31, 2018 3:14:20 GMT
Toki looked out towards the park and the surrounding buildings. He took a deep breath and stretched "Ah, it's been a while since I've been back here. At least I still haven't missed any of my classes. Thank goodness for that time dilation." he said. It was morning, so it wasn't too crowded at the park right now. Many people were going to work or school, so he had a part of the park to himself.
"You've more than earned this break. I've missed simply resting at home and reading those books with you. Those games you've taken an interest in are great fun as well. I will admit, part of me wishes I had a physical form to enjoy them more as well." his spirit said.
"Well I feel kind of bad if you put it that way...but I appreciate that you enjoy my company. We wouldn't have gotten this far if it weren't for your advice and friendship."
"It really means a lot that even as a spirit I am able to help those I care about. I appreciate this opportunity so much, so I should be thanking you as well. Oh, you had sent a message to Leith, yes? It has been a while since we've seen him. I hope he has been well."
Toki nodded "Yeah, if he wanted to meet up he should be here pretty soon. And yeah, I hope so too. He seemed new when the Dark Tower showed up all that time ago. I wonder how different things are now...come to think of it I haven't heard much from those towers lately. It's probably only temporary, but I'll enjoy the peace while it lasts."
"A good plan. A fleeting thing, peace is. At least we're caught up on what we have been reading and watching." his spirit said with a jovial laugh.

"So you wanna hear something embarrassing?" It appeared that Leith was talking to no one in particular, but that was only because most people had no idea what the black and blue machine on Leith's left wrist was for. The truth was that he was talking to his constant companions Veemon and Shoutmon. However, the both of them knew it wouldn't do to make much noise in public, so neither of them answered Leith's question. That was OK; it was rhetorical anyway. "I... completely forgot what this guy looks like."
"Really?"
"Are you serious?"
From within the D-3, both digimon broke the cone of silence to exclaim their surprise at their Tamer. For many reasons, they should have known better of course. For one, he was in his usual attire of dark black jeans, black sneakers, and a black metal band's T-shirt (Disturbed, in this case) and even had the black frames for his thin glasses to boot. The only non-black parts about him seemed to be his pale skin and brown eyes and curly, shoulder-length hair. Naturally, he didn't travel without a guitar case on his back either despite his recent acquisition of the Infiniti-store; like his band shirts, it was an expression of pride. He didn't exactly give the impression of a genius by his body language either, hands in his pockets and looking down. Then there was the fact that these digimon knew him, and Veemon was even there for the whole thing! Given all those things, Leith responded thusly: "I don't know why you're surprised. Only reason I remembered Shout's name right away is because I already met a different Shoutmon. And Vee, you were there, remember? We only saw this guy's real face for like ten seconds, and he was a digimon for the rest of it. If you think names are bad for me, try faces."
"Well the dude remembered you!"
"Yeah, and I find that fact extremely surprising, actually. I mean, flattering, but-"
"-Leith? He's over there!"
"Huh?" The good news for Leith was that there weren't a whole lot of people to confuse Toki for; with the park this empty and only one person standing where Veemon was indicating, Leith figured this was his man. "'Ey! Toki!" the young man called as he approached his old ally, "Yaho, do yo?" he greeted, exhausting most of the Japanese he had learned since then just to ask Toki how he was doing.

Slowly making her way on a small scooter with a side car was a young chinese girl, she's seen a lot on the park one could say is her favorite place and while normally she's here to relax or enjoy a peaceful day, today is different as instead of being carrying the "potted plant" she is usually around, in the side car now there were a couple of lunch boxes she make with the intention to sell.
"Hopefully we'll get lucky and sell a lot Bl─ She stop herself mid sentences remembering that Bloom wasn't with her today, the little plant decided to stay home and sleep today, weird but she wouldn't say no.
Once in the park Miyu took a good glance at it, it didn't seemed to be many people today, was she too early or too late? Who knows but food is still food and people usually don't say no to it, after some minutes waiting and looking shespotted a rather tall brown haired man, now what should Miyu do? How do you approach this? She knows how annoying some vendors can be and to be honest she was still new on this selling food thing (the first time she went door to door on the residential area) "Well, here goes nothing" she thought for herself.
"Good morning sir, I hope I'm not interrupting anything" She greeted the young man with a big smile, although her voice denoted some nervousness "My name is Miyu Feng and I was wondering if you would be interesting in some home made chinese food!" She reach to one lunch box from teh side car of her scooter, the box was white colored and small, it had on top a really bad drawing of a Tanemon almost like if a children did it, Miyu was good at a lot of things, but drawing wasn't one. "I'm selling what is known as Dim sum, it's a cantonese term that roughly translates to "Snack that touches the heart", they're steamed buns that can be make with a lot of things this are mainly made with veggetables!" Was this awkward? it feels awkward and wrong... Hopefully it's not at all

He heard the familiar voice call to him in Japanese. He smiled and appreciated it as he waved towards him "Hey, Leith! Good to see you." he said. He could tell he was a little awkward trying to figure out what to say in Japanese "I know...some English. Not a lot." he said. His pronunciation was fine, but many aspects of the syntax weren't something he grasped very easily. He always felt insecure about that. He should take more English courses at university "How have you been since we saw last? It's been a long time, yes?"
"What...have you been up to? A lot happened between then and now." he said, struggling a bit, but did his best. "Is he okay?" he asked in reference to his Digimon. Worried he was just being awkward, he rubbed the back of his head. He was the one who invited him to see how he was doing, but he still. Was he just being weird instead of friendly? He still didn't know.
Thankfully another voice broke the silence as a girl named Miyu rode along on a scooter. It looked like she was selling food! Perfect, this was a nice place to relax and have a bite to eat, anyway. "Oh, hello! My name's Toki Akiyama. It's nice to meet you, Miyu." he bowed politely and reached for his wallet. He noticed the design on the box and smiled warmly. He recognized that shape anywhere "A Tanemon..." he muttered before looking up at Miyu "Always a pleasure to meet another person from such an amazing place, isn't it?" he said with a knowing smile. "How much for a box?"
He looked back at Leith "You hungry? I'll buy!" he did bring invite him over here after all. It'd only be polite to offer.

"What do you mean? Is who OK?" Apparently, Leith didn't get the question at first, but it came to him soon enough. "Oh! Vee. Yeah, he's good. Uh, here. Say hi, Vee." In a public space Veemon knew he shouldn't speak too much, but for him it was enough that Leith held the digivice on his wrist up for Toki and faced the screen out, letting the little blue digimon look out from it and wave his greeting instead. However, the young man hastily dropped his arm when some food vendor rudely intruded on the very private conversation, which itself justified Veemon's silence. "Shit, you wouldn't believe what happened after we- hello?"
The young man wanted to calmly but curtly decline service to be rid of the woman, but Toki apparently wasn't on the same page. "I, uh... something tells me you don't wanna spend the money to feed all of us," the young man tried to hint. Then again, would Toki understand? He didn't have any way of knowing about Leith's other digimon yet. Again, making use of his Japanese, he managed to catch that Toki was implying the trio all came from the same place. Even though he got that right, it sounded too absurd for the young man to believe it. So he asked, "Uh... you mean it's nice to meet other people from Japan? Because I've been here like four months, and I'm like 80% sure neither of you is from Boston."

Miyu's face shine with happiness once the man that introduce himself as Toki said that it was going to buy one of the boxes, the chinese girl tilt her head curiously when he seemed to recognize the little drawing of a plant in the box and the "Always a pleasure to meet another person from such an amazing place, isn't it?" comment just make her wondr if it was possible that Toki knew about the digital world, it wouldn't be a surprise if it is after all most of her friends that know something about that world she met them here on the park, it's like the place always call tamers to meet.
"It'll be 400 yen per box, every box has half a dozen of steam buns" She answer with a smile. "I promise you won't find a best lunch in this world or any other" She winked to Toki see if he catch what she said, was a little obvious? Maybe but who knows
She then gave a look to the other young man near them, she didn't notice him at all... Well nothing that can be solve by a new introduction... If only was that simple since apparently he wasn't speaking their same language the only thing she catch is "Boston" which to her it can mean anything really, but it sounded like the name of a place, Miyu make a small bow apologizing for not understanding nor introduce herself or note him just a couple of seconds ago.
"China" She said pointing at herself, that should be enough to point out where she is from

Toki smiled brightly when he heard that Leith's Veemon was okay "I'm glad. He got hurt pretty badly back there, so I'm relieved to hear that he recovered." He leaned down and looked at the screen before he waved back at Veemon "Good to see you, friend. Glad to see you're well." he said before turning his focus back to Miyu. He felt a little bad for Leith as he clearly wanted to talk about everything that's going on...he would try and make him feel okay with talking about what he's been up to.
800 yen for two boxes of six dumplings? That was an amazing deal! Without hesitation he gave Miyu the money. He chuckled lightly at her 'hint.' "Any other, hm? You might have a bit of competition on the other side, but I'm sure these will be delicious! Thank you. So yes, I recognize the design on your box vividly. I've spent a bit of time taking care of them whenever I happen to visit." he said with a smile. "Are you busy? I'd love to talk about our experiences, though if you're busy I completely understand." he offered.
He looked back at Leith "Sorry if this...well, awkward. But I'm pretty sure Miyu here is a friend. If...you'd rather not talk about everything now, I'd totally understand. Still, I'm here to help if you need it alright?" whenever he got the boxes of food from Miyu, he'd hand one over to Leith. It wasn't Miyu's fault in the slightest, but he would completely understand if Leith didn't want to discuss what's been going on when someone neither of them really knew was there.

Ah, hell. 'A Japanese man, a Chinese girl, and a Bostonian meet at the park' sounds like the beginning of a crappy joke. Leith narrowed his eyebrows as he watched the interaction between Toki and Miyu. He just didn't get it, none of what Toki was trying to say. "You know this girl? You sure weren't acting like it a second ago." Clearly, between the language barrier and the fact that the young man didn't recognize the digimon so clearly painted, he was completely in the dark. So were his companions, apparently, as it only made sense they would have said something if they knew something. "I don't really want to talk about anything in front of the... let's say, 'uninitiated.' I've tried that twice since we saw each other. The first time went OK, but the second time went very, very wrong." Leith then tried stepping away from both Toki and Miyu, hoping the young man would take the hint. If he didn't, well, the next best thing would be that Miyu did.

A huge dorky smile was brought on Miyu's face when the man decided to buy two boxes! This was the first real sell she did, granted this was her second day at selling food and the park seems like a better place than going door to door but still, first client and first sell a nice good achievment for her and couldn't be more happy, even more funny is that Toki did get her hint although it'was so hard to get.
"Well, what can I say? It's hard to compete with a place that has literal meat apples" The chinese girl giggled. "Awww that's so sweet! I always wanted to go there and see all the babies, but I got caught up in so many adventures that I forgot, it's such a big world it's imposible to explore in one day"
She gave Toki the boxes and then look at the other man, she titl her head curiously but sadly she couldn't understand a single word he was saying, but she did catch how he just step away, message receive, it was a little rude to be fair but seeing that they couldn't understand each other it kinda was a better way to get the message across.
"I'm actually not that bussy, I mean sure I have to sell these but I'm in no hurry specially if it means hearing the experience other had there, but I guess I'm bothering... Is he one of us? Becaus if that's the case I have a very well hidden place in the park a friend once show me to talk about stuff, if it could hide a 7ft furry death machine that is Meicrackmon vicious mode it can hide perfectly 3 humans and their partners... Although mine is at home sleeping"

Toki rubbed the back of his head and took note of Leith's discomfort with the whole situation...how to properly convey this...he had an idea and looked around. No one else was nearby, so he took out his digivice and held it out "Leith. She's one of us. She's a friend." he explained. He showed him the box "See? Tanemon." He put his digivice away and smiled "I understand being unsure...but chance encounters are great. Could help us come to terms with what bothers us."
He looked back at Miyu "It always warms my heart whenever I go there. They all look so peaceful. What I'd do to make it that peaceful across the entire Digital World..." he sighed a bit. He shook his head "But enough of that, I'm sure that day will come. Yes, Leith here is one of us. We were just about to talk about our experiences there, so I'd gladly welcome another voice."
When Miyu mentioned a place where they could comfortably talk openly about the Digital World, he nodded "Oh, that'd be great! It's awkward having to hint at it all the time, so a place to talk openly sounds very good right now."
Though that would entirely depend on if Leith was okay with that, so he looked to him "She knows a good place to talk. We'll talk about what we have done...what we think. Could be fun?" he said and hoped that would be enough to encourage him to come with to talk about all of this.
As he talked, Toki opened one of the boxes and looked at the steamed buns inside "Oh wow, these look and smell great..." he picked one up and took a bite, instantly in love with the flavor and texture. He handed the other box to Leith "This one's for you."

"You sayin' some vendor in the park is one of us?" Leith skeptically echoed while looking at his own digivice. "I've never seen that digimon before, dude. Don't expect me to have read the whole encyclopedia." Incredulous as the young man was, he supposed the pair had probably already confirmed it to each other in the local language, leaving him out of the loop. Wait, but my guys would have known that. Why wouldn't they say anything? When Leith flashed his digivice screen the nonverbal question, two digimon on it both shrugged back at him. None of them knew that no one said anything explicitly until Leith had stepped too far for the digimon to catch the conversation.
"...I've only been here a couple months. Gimme a break," was Leith's defense for not following earlier. Still, if anything changed his mind, it was the dumplings. Even Leith's cold heart had to be melted by the taste of one of those. "Alright. I really only wanted to see someone I know, but I guess I don't have any stories that are that secret." So Leith followed Miyu and Toki to that spot, at which point he could finally safely release his company into the open world. "Reload, guys."
Veemon came came out first, at the beginning as a ball of light but by the end taking form into a little blue drake. When Leith underhandedly tossed him a dumpling, Veemon was ready without any need for verbal warning and, in fact, caught it in his mouth like it was a well-practiced move. Still, like a polite digimon, Veemon chewed and swallowed before waving courteously and greeting, "Hiya, Toki! It's been a while, hasn't it?" in perfect Japanese.
"Sorry that took a while, Vee. You mind doin' the usual?"
"No problem!"
Leith wouldn't blame Toki for being surprised when a second digimon came from the digivice. This ball of light became a Shoutmon, though with the difference that all the things that made a typical Shoutmon appear mechanical - screws, bolts, and a metal body as examples - were absent. Instead of machine, this digimon looked like organic flesh and scales, headphones worn down around his neck.
Leith reached inside to toss the red digimon another dumpling, but before he could, Shoutmon grabbed it right out of Leith's hands and poured the remaining dumplings into his mouth. Despite the fullness of his mouth, he only chewed a couple of times before issuing a casual, "'Sup?" in Japanese... and only afterwards swallowed his meal.

Toki had an interesting digivice to say the least, she only ever saw one like that before and it was long time ago, it means he is a spirit user, a human capable of wielding the power of spirit digimon to transform into them, that was so interesting and Miyu hope to see that kind of abbility in action because sadly the other person that she knows with that digivice didn't transform nor has she know something about her in a long time.
"That's amazing! You seem like a really nice person Toki, maybe we could go together to that place once I finish my break from the digital world" She said cheerfully maybe having some one to remind her of the village of beginings would help her visit the place
Fortunately Toki convince the other man to stay and accepted her idea to go to a new place, it was a little far from where they were, it was a nice little place behind some bushes people will need to really get out of their way to find them that's why this place was so good, it had a lot of space too, the only odd thing was a kinda big wooden crate lying there.
"I had to clean this place a lot to leave it was found, sadly I can't move the wooden crate, the already mention Meicrackmon stole a crate of food and hide it here and well I just leave it here" Miyu let a soft chuckle
The chinese girl smile again when Toki compliment her food and the smile grew bigger when Leith show his partners, the first blue one she didn't really know it was her first time seeing it, but the red one she could recognize it everywhere specially since it seems to have the same appetite as the other one she knows.
"Shoutmon!" She said excitedly, although this Shoutmon was a little different from the one she knew at least physically, well some digimons might differ from each other. "It's a pleasure to meet you both!"

Toki was really happy that Leith decided to go with the two of them. He would have felt bad if Leith had decided to leave after he invited him here. Once everything was squared away, Toki followed Miyu to these out of the way spot in the park. He blushed a bit when Miyu said he seemed like a nice person, but accepted the compliment and moved on. "Hey, yeah, you're right. This place is pretty out of the way. Definitely good for meetings." he took note of the box in the area and chuckled "I knew someone with a Meicoomon...but...I haven't seen her in a while. I hope she's well."
Toki smiled at Veemon and knelt down to wave at him "Hey Veemon! Yeah it has, I hope you recovered well after what happened with the tower. You did great back there." he gave him a thumbs up. To Toki's surprise, a second Digimon appeared from Leith's digivice. A Shoutmon "Two? I'm guessing one of the things that happened was you finding a second partner. I'd like to hear about that happened...well, along with everything else but you know what I mean."
He frowned a bit at Shoutmon's rather brash and selfish actions, though he simply shrugged and handed Veemon a bun from his box and one to Leith. "I've still got plenty for myself." he said, taking another bite "Assertive, aren't you?" he said to Shoutmon. "Nothing wrong with that, but that was food I paid for and Leith was going to share. In short, ask nicely next time, alright?" there he went again. Toki had a habit of lecturing, though he liked to think he did so in a less 'holier than thou' sort of way than some people. Miyu seemed more than excited to meet them both, though, and that was nice to see.

Veemon had to speak English real fast to keep up with all the rapid Japanese being thrown around, but he did it pretty easily after a lot of practice and had no complaints about performing the service either. Perhaps Shoutmon technically could do it, too, that responsibility wouldn't be trusted to him any time soon after a prank he pulled the first time he offered. It helped that English tended to use less syllables than Japanese, at least. Now that it finally seemed appropriate to talk about his experiences, he went and got started with Veemon interpreting every word. "It's a long fucking story." Veemon dutifully translated even the profanity, but he looked a little less happy when he had to say those words. Leith quickly summarized, "A psycho chick and her digimon tried to kill Veemon, and Shoutmon's egg appeared after we dealt with her. Shoutmon got caught by my parents, it started a fight, and I kinda ran away from home, living with some other kid with two digimon for a while and then that Rosewood place for a couple more days. Then I went home, tried to talk it out, and it didn't go well, so now I'm officially moved out and living in Rosewood now. Since then another friend almost got me killed, Shoutmon and I started a metal band with a couple other Tamers, and now we're playing the inn every night that they'll let us."
"And your boyfriend's a lion furry," Shoutmon helpfully added.
"And my boyfriend's a-" Leith looked uncomfortable and turned red, realizing what he was saying only after he had started. "...yeah, that kid I lived with a bit? Turns out I'm dating his sister's Leomon. How? Still not sure."
"And 'Blue's' with the kid's Elecmon."
"Shout, I really don't think our love lives are the point here."
As Shoutmon shrugged, Veemon tentatively complimented, "I'm surprised! Normally you would have... done something rash by now. You know, after-"
"Yeah, yeah, I oughta kick the big guy's ass. I didn't forget," Shoutmon spoke a bit too cheerfully, "But I figure everybody gets one. 'Sides, I'm a hypocrite if I beat up that other Veemon for hittin' a human, ain't I?"
"Hey, look over there!" Leith interjected right then, actually pointing in a direction but at nothing in particular, "A totally new topic!"

Miyu tilt her head when Toki mentioned knowing some one with a Meicoomon, was this world really that small? Well if it is he shouldn't worry the chinese girl had a meeting with Haru and her sister Naoko not so long ago and they both looked fine, Haru had to use some special lenses to hide the fact that her eyes were looking like Meicoomon but she really doesn't remember if that was explain, she was too busy hugging Tawna on her Plotmon form...
"If you mean Haru don't worry, She's fine we meet a couple of weeks ago, like us she's trying to have a break and take things easier, the digital world can really affect us humans in so many ways, every once in a while we just want a normal peaceful day without a giant red beetle or a weird winged zombie fox thing trying tu murder you" The chinese girl let a soft chuckle
She then focus on the other person and his digimon, she could feel a little sorry for poor V-mon working as a translator having to shift from english to japanese in seconds, the more she listen to Leith story the more she felt poor kid needed a hug but that wouldn't be her, a thing she has been trying to get good at is to respect people's personal space after all not everyone is fine with a stranger just hugging them out of nowhere.
One thing was for sure, that Shoutmon wasn't as nice as the one she knew, if anything she thought it was a rude brat and for once she was thankful that Bloom decided to stay at home otherwise this would've scream problems with the attitude of the red dragon.
"Don't worry there is more food where that came from, and if anything I could give one box for free I know digimon have a good appetite, thankfully my little plant does Photosynthesis and doesn't really need to eat"
