Honestly why should he be surprised this is how things were after the holidays?
The stores had lost their holiday cheer, switching back rapidly from Christmas and new years colors to something more plain. It made finding the right store easier by just glancing about but it also made the large man somewhat frustrated in a sense. As he was looking for something themed in those colors for one of his kids as he had missed out on sending them a gift during the season proper.
The gift they had intended being wrecked by a neighbors dog no less!
But that didn't stop him from going window to window, door to door. Peeking inside each major store and trying to find that proper casing for the cell phone. Every so often he'd pass by an electronic store and check through there but his presence always seemed to cause some ire.
After all most of the electronics in there went on the fritz! It was a natural thing for him, his body signals always seemed to mesh poorly with electronics. Part of the reason the large man had never gotten into that sort of thing or hardly had a cell phone outside of his Nokia.
"Are you sure you don't have it in this color? It was just last week that you guys did..."
"I can check for you sir but no promises. Just wait here for a minute please..."
The clerk would dip her head and head into the back leaving the rather large man standing in the midst of all this equipment on his own. Which would only prove to him how out of date he was. Leaning down he'd stare at a cellphone; blinking owlishly the large man would bring out his phone and compare them! His was much more firm, seemed heavier and had some durability to it while this other one seemed like it'd break if he breathed on it wrong...
"Don't know why they'd think making them like this would be good..."
