It was a fine, slightly chilly, yet clear winter's day in Rosewood. Luke was somewhat glad to be here, he always enjoyed visiting this town of the forest. Not only were there a lot of friends here, but, he just liked seeing that the digimon that hatched in the Village of Beginnings had a place close by to go. And that it had all been built in just a year was something he was delighted about.
The reason they were here today? Well, as a team with an airship mercenary digimon, Colin was one of the few agents in AEGIS able to quickly travel to other places in the digital world. And they were here to make a report in how things were going lately. Sophie had heard of... things happening in the forest, and had sent her little brother here to investigate. Thus, Colin was currently located in the inn, asking around for information.
Also in the inn was Bellamy and his daughter Gaz. They were currently spending time with another of their friends, Bezil the Gumdramon, who related a lot to Gaz. Luke had stayed with them a little while before another friend, Owen the Gaomon, had made his offer to Luke - if they wanted to do a bit of training while their families talked for a bit?
"Sure" Luke had said, and Colin had quickly digivolved him when asked. Owen did the same with his digimental, and the two had gone out to the park to hone their combat skills.
Luke was in his Teslamon form - a tall six foot rabbit digimon, covered in red, purple and white fur, built with long, powerful legs, a lean muscular body, dressed in leather armor on his chest, forearms and lower legs, equipped with an electric spear. And Owen was in his RaiGaogamon form - a canine warrior of a similar height, gold metal armor on his chest and forearms. However, they would not spar with real weapons. Both were equipped with eight foot sparring poles, practicing their spear drill. Well, more accurately, Luke was. Owen was simply defending and reacting as a living target would. Luke was grateful, it was much more effective than practicing against stationary objects.
While they were training in a public space in the park, it was clear that it was only training. Still, Luke's focus was entirely on the combat simulation. As he leapt around the sparring field, trying his best to get through Owen's guard, he would only be paying attention on his own stance, his weapon, and Owen. And the blue canine digimon was similar.
Eventually, after about half an hour, Owen called for a break. "Whew... best stop there, mate" he said, dropping his pole after defending a particularly heavy combination from the Teslamon. "Any more and the bruises are gonna show through my fur".
"Heh... sorry about that" Luke said, patting his friend's shoulder.
"No worries" Owen said cheerfully. "I might head back to the inn now. You coming?"
"Hmm, thanks, but, I might keep practicing for a bit" Luke said, dropping the pole and picking up his normal spear. "I feel like I've still got a bit of energy in me, and I don't get much chances to train like this".
"Alrighty. See ya later then" Owen said, then left him to continue the spear practice. There Luke was, almost dancing around his part of the park, methodically swinging and stabbing with his spear, sometimes following up with a flashy electric attack at the air. He was careful to keep away from others that might be nearby though.

"...What do you wanna do?" Leith called across the team's room in the Pillar of Eternity for the sixth time.
Shoutmon shrugged. "I dunno. What do you wanna do?" he punted back to Leith for the sixth time.
Leith pursed his lips and racked his brains for some way to fill time. Band practice was out without their bassist, and so was a little training (Leith very wisely refused to fight Shoutmon no matter what constraints he tried to propose). In the end he came up empty. So, for the seventh time, he reflected, "I don't know. What do you wanna do?"
On his way out, Owen might have finally recognized the Flamedramon leaning against a tree some way away, not obviously watching the pair train but in sight of it nonetheless. Flamedramon had witnessed this form in action once before, but at that time there wasn't really a chance to observe Luke's graceful movements, mastery of his technique, or the many, many other aesthetically pleasing qualities about him. Now that he finally had spare time, this was something that made the digimon smile a little wider than was really warranted from a rational perspective.
Flamedramon didn't get a lot of time to himself, and part of that was by choice; it was hard for him not to want to spend as much time as possible with his twin digimon Shoutmon and human Tamer Leith. However, more recently he was finding this Teslamon to be an intrusive thought, a distraction of sorts but without the negative feelings that tended to come with those words. Of course his Tamer understood, seeing as while Leith was a little less outspoken about them he certainly knew the feeling. Shoutmon encouraged Flamedramon to spend time with him as well, just like he did the night they got together. So, when Flamedramon wanted to know where to find Luke, he just asked his brother. Why not ask Luke?
Everyone likes surprises.
For the same reason, as Owen walked past Flamedramon, the armored lizard held one finger to his own lips while gesturing with his eyes at Luke, nonverbally asking the familiar canine to keep quiet about his own presence. Assuming Owen complied, Flamedramon would proceed to start sneaking in toward Luke. Perhaps they both stood out in a town populated mostly by rookies, but Flamedramon thought his own battle instinct and agility would be enough to keep in the spearman's blind spot.
If he was right, he'd surprise Luke by intercepting one spin of the spear with his gauntlet, the metal strong enough to take the blow just fine even from the blade, followed by an attempt to use both hands to pull the horizontal spear tight against Luke's chest, effectively binding the Teslamon's arms and upper body in a space too tight to move if he didn't let go of his own weapon first. At that point Flamedramon would lean his reptilian head in over his pinned prey and speak softly, "Am I interrupting?" coyly, finally releasing him.

Owen had an inkling of what the Flamedramon was up to. He merely gave a grin and a nod when the blue drake signalled his intentions. Besides, that was a reason Owen wanted to leave Luke alone for a little while.
Luke's instincts as a beast digimon did in fact make him aware that someone was approaching, hence his decision to not electrify the spear this time around. What he wasn't expecting was the individual to close the distance so fast and seemingly engage him in a battle move. All he knew was that the other individual was the size of a human, and also equipped with armor and claw-like gauntlets.
When he realized who it was and that he knew the Flamedramon meant no ill intent, Luke didn't raise his defenses and attempt to counter, simply letting him get close. While Luke hadn't yet seen him in his Flamedramon form yet, he knew from scent and mannerisms that this was Leith's partner.
"Not anymore you're not, babe~" Luke replied in a cheeky voice to Flamedramon as he leaned in close, aiming to surprise him back with a kiss on his cheek. The Teslamon was delighted to see him, he hadn't done so since the morning after their date in Whitewater. Going by these actions, it was probably safe to assume that Luke rather liked him.
As he was released, he stuck the point of his spear in the grass, the weapon a bit unwieldy to have around someone like this. "Heya, Blue, wasn't expecting to see you here" he said cheerfully, reaching out and patting Flamedramon's shoulder gently. "I was just finishing up some training here".
If one took note, Luke was considerably more outgoing and confident as Teslamon than he was as Elecmon. Being taller than most humans was one factor. Hence why Luke was standing bright and bold, his long ears standing upright, even his little tail wiggled a bit with excitement.
"I gotta say, I think this is first time I've seen you in this form up close, Blue, you look amazing" Luke said, taking in his appearance, definitely not disappointed with what he saw. "So, you staying around here for long?" he queried, tilting his head.

So it didn't work, huh? Well, not exactly as Flamedramon had intended, at least. Still, when Luke gave Flamedramon that little peck, the reptile couldn't help exhaling and relaxing a little even though he already wasn't stressed. It was a reaction he couldn't control. "You could give Shoutmon a lesson fighting like that. He uses a similar weapon, kind of, but you're way better with it. Don't tell him I said that," was his answer to hearing Luke was ending a training session. "Don't tell him I said he's too lazy and needs to get off the couch once in a while either."
In terms of personality, there was nothing different about Flamedramon as Veemon. He was still that optimistic, fun-loving, scrap-seeking, adventurous digimon whether he was six inches tall or six meters, the latter being a height he only recently obtained. To the compliment he answered, "Thank you. I couldn't hold it for long when we met, but I'm a whole lot stronger than I was then," with a little bit of pride. "I was thinking about staying around a while. Quantum isn't really a town yet, so this place has the closest shops and activity and familiar faces and..." Flamedramon smirked. "Lovable rabbits."
Unlike his Tamer, Flamedramon had gotten right over any reservations about public displays once he'd actually found someone he thought would accept them, so he had no problem leaning in and embracing the spearman, leaning in a little with one leg off the ground. It seemed he was just that eager, perhaps partially driven by inexperience and naivete. "Tamernet chat just isn't the same, you know?"

Luke pondered that. "Yeah, I think one day I'll have a go at least" he said about teaching Shoutmon how to fight with a polearm a bit better. "Although I can't say I'm that diligent myself with training, there always seems to be something else that needs doing. Ah well, can't be helped".The red rabbit digimon was glad to hear that Veemon was getting stronger. "Heh, you know I don't think I asked you exactly what forms you evolve into" he said. "But so far I like both the forms I've seen". So Flamedramon was going to hang out in Rosewood for a while? Luke beamed at this. "That's great! We're hanging out here for a while too. Colin's here to make a report for AEGIS about how things are going, so far it doesn't look like there's much to say though". The town was as peaceful as ever, the only sound other than the digimon that lived here was the sound of wind in the trees. The Teslamon blushed a little at that last point, but kept up his cheer. "Aww, that's nice. And as well as lovable rabbits I hear there's some handsome drakes here and there" he gave a little wink. When Flamedramon embraced him, Luke returned it, leaning his head against his cheek glad to feel his warmth again. He didn't do so too tightly, that chest armor was kinda hard, but all sorts of positive feelings returned to him as he realized that his boyfriend really was here and they were going to spend time together. "Heh, true, the real thing beats that any day" Luke replied. He then realized he'd best tell his partner. "Ah, just a moment, Blue" he said after they parted from the hug. He tapped something behind his ear. "Colin? Can you hear me?""Yeah, what's up, Luke?" Colin's voice returned through the comm link that allowed them to communicate even when separated. "I've just bumped into Flamedramon. Would it be okay if we spend some time together?""Ah, sure, no worries about that. Bellamy and Gaz are here, so, don't worry about us. You two have fun" Colin replied. Luke thanked him, then pumped the air triumphantly. "Looks like there's no problems with us hanging out for a while then" Luke said to Flamedramon. "So, Blue, how about we take a walk through town?" he asked, his voice gentle but his expression excited.
Assuming Flamedramon would walk at his side, Luke picked his spear up out of the grass and carried it in his right paw. As they walked toward the park entrance, Luke noted that there was a Strikedramon nearby with a group of 5 rookie digimon, the champion level barking out instructions and encouragement as they seemed to be training for something.
"Ah right, he's training them to try and digivolve" Luke remarked once he could hear enough of what they were saying. "Heh, that takes me back... a friend of ours helped Bellamy and I evolve to Rookie on the day we met Colin through training" he explained to Flamedramon.
It was then that he realized that he had shared relatively little of his own history with the blue drake. So he thought that now might be a good time to change that. "Wanna hear about the other times Bells and I digivolved for the first time?" he asked.

Flamedramon had to smile under his helmet when Luke so forwardly complimented his form. He was rather proud of it, and it was his personal favorite for everyday use, after all. The second compliment made him shut his eyes a few moments and smile still wider. His expression changed, however, when Luke communicated with an unseen person during the conversation. Of course, it wasn't that much of a mystery; Luke named his Tamer aloud, and Flamedramon had certainly used that same comm link himself in times of emergency, but it surprised the digimon to learn he felt the need to ask permission to make what seemed like his own decision.
Then again, maybe that's just how close they are, Flamedramon reasoned. It made sense to him, knowing that those two had been together at least a little longer than Flamedramon and his human. Plus Luke seemed reasonably confident during the aside that he'd get that permission, judging from the look on the warrior's face. In answer to the walk, Flamedramon nodded his head in the direction the pair ended up going, accepting the invitation nonverbally but still obviously. In case Luke forgot his spear, though, Flamedramon effortlessly plucked it from the dirt and passed it back to its rightful owner.
Flamedramon couldn't help but notice the champion shouting at the rookies himself, though he was more concerned than curious. Fortunately, this seemed like a consensual arrangement based on his observation. Apparently, Luke noticed, too. "I'd love to hear about it," was Flamedramon's answer to Luke's query. "Digivolving for the first time is special after all. Come to think of it-" Flamedramon looked down at his own body and then his arms before making eye contact with Luke again. "-you saw the first time I looked like this."

Luke gave a nod at Flamedramon's statement, not helping but give a little grin at the opportunity to look at him again. However, before he got too far ahead in himself, he put those thoughts aside for now. But, perhaps later, he would like a... closer look at him.
"Well then, my first evolution to this form took place on our first mission as members of PROFIT" Luke began to explain as they left the park, walking along one of the paths through the town. They drew looks from other digimon, being a Champion and Armor Ultimate in a town full of Rookies, but nobody seemed too bothered by that. "It was us, our boss Yuu and her partner Kyo; and another Veemon variant come to think of it. His name was Squire. Anyway, we went to explore some strange signals coming from an island near Whitewater. Turns out it was a secret lab that was doing forbidden experiments".
The lab was long gone now, and Luke didn't know who or what was behind it. But it was pretty nasty stuff. "It was basically using technology to force digimon to evolve beyond their capabilities. It caused them to go mad. So Bellamy and I evolved to stop the machines and bring them back to normal, then the lab was destroyed".
Next was a little less clean, however. "The day we evolved to Ultimate, we were on another job for PROFIT, this time with Marshal and his Coronamon, that's Bellamy's fiance by the way... Coronamon, not Marshal" he clarified quickly. "And Ryouta and Ryu the Dracomon. We were in the North investigating some Earthquakes. And it turns out a giant Groundramon was responsible. We cut it really close in that one, Colin was almost hit when the cave we were in collapsed. Ryouta and Ryu were hit though, but, we got out of there alive. The Groundramon escaped though".
He wondered how Flamedramon would react to these stories. By now they were passing through the market district, and there they came across a Burgermon at a hot food stand. Luke glanced at Flamedramon.
"Want something to eat, Blue?" he queried, feeling a bit peckish himself.

Flamedramon was quite the active listener. Where Leith might have shown no proof he was really comprehending (and Shoutmon might have just turned away if he was tuning out), Flamedramon tilted his head, nodded, blinked, and reacted appropriately as if he were invested and interested. He was invested and interested. What he was not, however, was surprised; Flamedramon had gotten a sense of the scope of adventures the other trio had been through by now. Of course, none of that took away from the fact that Luke and company were still the epitome of heroes in Flamedramon's eyes. Throwing themselves into danger to save souls they didn't even know with some regularity... How could Flamedramon ever compete with that? In one sort of way it made his own sense of personal righteousness smart, but the admiration for his boyfriend was unaffected.
The truth was Flamedramon wasn't very hungry, no matter how tempting the smell of that stand was. He knew Luke was, though, if he was asking, and the drake thought he had the space to cram something small down if it meant giving Luke the social leeway to eat himself. Besides, as his Tamer had once told him (who himself was told by another), eating with someone was a bonding experience, not just nourishment. No one eats next to someone they don't like, after all. "Oh... I could eat. How about one corndog, sir?" Flamedramon asked of the Burgermon with a little shrug.
When he got what he wanted, Flamedramon would go on, "Your experience is nothing like mine. In my case it seems like the danger has always come to me. My first digivolution was actually in the real world, a couple of weeks after meeting Leith. A much less handsome and funny Elecmon than you was draining power from that big mall in the real world. Adrian and his Shoutmon - you know them, right? - they helped us catch him, but he digivolved to champion first. I couldn't reach the champion level then, but we did have the assistance of an egg."
"I first turned ultimate when Adrian asked us to guard him during a personal matter. That was also the first time Shoutmon and I DNA digivolved. Apparently Shoutmon had some enemies, and they..." Flamedramon hesitated. He didn't like thinking about what he was forced to do: turn on his Tamer. "...we dispatched them in the end. But they kidnapped Adrian after that. We were the only ones who could save him, and we had to achieve mega just to barely escape alive." Flamedramon decided not to mention that they also killed four digimon in the process, though there was no loading. He couldn't know what Luke would think. But tactfully, to keep from looking too uncomfortable too long, he tried to end with a positive. "Shoutmon and I might not be as experienced or as strong as you and your brother, but we're definitely catching up!"

Luke was glad that Flamedramon seemed to be fully engaged with attention at this. He liked that he seemed to be a good listener. The Teslamon kept pace by tapping the ground with the base of his spear as he walked, using it as a kind of cane. Partly because it was a spear and thus difficult to stow away, and partly to prevent its blade accidentally stabbing a bystander because of how engrossed in conversation he was.
Then at the hot food stand, Flamedramon ordered a corndog. Luke glanced at it for a moment, blinked, then looked back at the Burgermon before any impure thoughts could hit him. "I'll have a..." he wanted to say 'burger' but for some reason said "-Hotdog, thanks", then realized it, blinked again, then just decided to go with it for now.
After paying, Luke continued to walk, taking a bite from his meal, trying not to think about it too much, and instead focused on Flamedramon as they continued to walk through the town. He almost choked as he was called "handsome and funny" but managed to prevent the food going down the wrong way, making a giggle at that, but gasped soon after at being told what kind of dangers had happened.
"Hm... I've seen Adrian around, but I don't think I've actually met him" Luke admitted. "He's got a Shoutmon too, right?"
A kidnapping? Oh boy. "Damn... that's terrible. But I'm glad you guys made it out of there" he said, finishing off his hotdog. "And heh, you sure are catching up. For our mega evolution, Bellamy and I kinda had a similar situation. A group of bad digimon were appearing over Whitewater, they seemed to have a grudge against Marshal and Coronamon. They were starting to fight with them and a friend of ours called Maia and her partner Kuu. Our friends were outnumbered and the enemies were mega levels, so we ended up reaching that level too. I became Fulminomon and Bellamy became Beelzemon. The fighting got fierce and then it got worse, when..." it was rather horrible so he took a moment to compose himself. "One of the enemy killed and absorbed their own so they could digivolve to super mega. Kuu was getting beaten back, and Apollomon... that's Marshal and Coronamon's biomerge, wasn't handling himself well. We were almost going to give up and evacuate Whitewater because of the attacks being thrown around. Then... Colin decided that we're going to biomerge instead, then we destroyed them, and Whitewater didn't suffer a hit".
Luke smiled a little as he remembered that. "Biomerging might be risky, but, it's one of the best feelings ever, Blue. Colin let us into his mind, and we let his into ours. Everything we knew, we shared. I felt for real just how much Colin and Bellamy loved me, and they knew how much I loved them. And the power we got from it..." he gave a warm smile at his boyfriend. "Only times I've felt anything close to that good in my life is when I'm with you, Blue" he admitted.
By now they were approaching a new area of town that Luke hadn't been to before. It seemed to be a kind of entertainment district, where so far there was a cinema, a small game arcade, restaurants, a theatre, even a museum. Luke took in the sights with fascination.

Flamedramon denied Luke the sight he really wanted to see. Since the drake wasn't all that hungry in the first place, he only took small nibbles at his snack instead of the huge bites he was certainly capable of with a muzzle the length of Flamedramon's. Of course, he didn't know what he was doing. If he did... he probably would have chocked it all down at once.
He was glad Luke was able to understand the gravity of the situation... or, perhaps not, considering Flamedramon had left some of the crucial information surrounding Adrian's kidnapping out. Maybe that wasn't necessary, though, since the threat was neutralized. "I... don't know anything about that battle. Feels like something I should, though. I might have been alive then. I wonder where I was..." At least Luke didn't let Flamedramon fall too deep down that past life rabbit hole. Luke went on about the wonder of biomerging: fighting not just alongside one's partners but as a part of them, and they a part of oneself at the same time. DNA was something Flamedramon already knew, but Leith wasn't a part of that mix.
Flamedramon briefly wondered to himself whether he and Leith would ever experience that for themselves. Then he decided if it ever became necessary, that probably wasn't a good thing. The Teslamon sure didn't agree with that, apparently, though, so it was a real marvel that the bunny had gone and compared being with Flamedramon himself to biomerging. Flamedramon warned him, "Alright, Luke, you know what talk like that's gonna get ya," before trying to suddenly block the Teslamon's path with one arm, remove his helmet with the other (for safety), step in front of the rabbit, and pull Luke into his own body to conclude the maneuver with pushing his lips on Luke's to deliver a kiss with a whole lot of affection packed into not a lot of time, just a couple of seconds. It was still a public place, after all.
Then again, there were a lot of other places to look in this district of Rosewood now that the town had expanded so far. Flamedramon didn't much care about them, but he couldn't just stare into Luke's eyes forever, could he? "Hey, Luke. Ever been in there?" Flamedramon pointed at the museum with one hand while the other put his helmet back on. "Maybe it's not where Prince Charming would take Cinderella, but I'm kinda feeling like doing something that doesn't make me sit down, y'know? My treat. Wanna go?"
"Go fish."
"What?" While sitting cross-legged on the floor, a deck of playing cards between himself and Shoutmon, Leith looked up at his opponent. "I thought we were playing War."
"No, I said I wanted to play Blackjack."
"That doesn't involve 'go fish' either!"
Shoutmon squinted at Leith. Leith squinted back. This was a fine use of their time, now, wasn't it?

Luke didn't mind that Flamedramon hadn't heard of that battle. "Probably best that it keeps that way I guess. We don't want too many digimon worrying about enemies like that showing up again" Luke said. Still, some digimon in Whitewater did remember, and thus he, Colin and Bellamy often encountered at least one admirer every time they went to the city. Bellamy relished the attention obviously, while Luke would politely thank those that gave praise. After Luke had talked about biomerging and how pleasant it felt, he kind of expected that Flamedramon would want to retaliate with such actions. Luke gave one of his usual big grins, dropping his spear and returned the kiss, wrapping his paws around Flamedramon, rubbing his back lovingly. "Yeesh! Get a room you two!" some random Gazimon called out to them. Luke responded by sticking his middle claw up at him. A Goblimon wolf-whistled them then shouted "Woo! Alriiight!", clearly enjoying the sight. And then a Agumon and Gabumon pair walked by, clearly impressed. "Wow, Steve, those guys are gayer than we are!" the Agumon exclaimed. "Adam, don't talk like that in public..." the Gabumon replied, blushing, but still smiled all the same. "Erm... I suddenly remembered that I forgot something. Let's go back home quickly"."Heh, my thoughts exactly" the Agumon agreed with a grin, then both of them sprinted back the way they came. Luke meanwhile felt that his cheeks were very warm after that, then gave a lustful look at his boyfriend's red eyes. 'Oh the things I wanna do with you right now when nobody's watching...' he thought, but purged those thoughts from his mind. He picked up his spear from the ground, but was sure to play around a little more with his boyfriend by bending and snapping while doing so. "Hm? Ah, the museum, I haven't been there actually" Luke said, glad to be distracted by something that rather interested him. "Sure, let's check it out!" he agreed, his ears flapping a little as he nodded. He would then enter the museum.
When inside, they were first presented with a fascinating display of artifacts and objects that seemed to have been excavated from the areas around Rosewood. For now this seemed to be the Backup Bayou section, full of fascinating items fished out of the boglands to the South of the town.
"Ahh, nice" Luke said, looking at a glass display case containing kind of mudstone sculpture covered with strange glyphs. "Have you been to the Backup Bayou, Blue? I've been a couple of times".

Wha...? That was odd. Who in the digital world would go heckling a little kiss? Flamedramon even went out of his way to keep it short, sweet, and classy. On the other end of the spectrum, a nosy Goblimon went and celebrated a little too much. Quite frankly, the drake wasn't sure exactly which reaction was supposed to embarrass him more. So he just became a little shier in answer to both. At least one person, a Gabumon, had a sense of class while his... friend? Husband? In any case, the Agumon Adam just went and put it all out there.
Flamedramon was glad to get away from them but not too off-put for it to have ruined the moment; that would have taken a lot more digimon with worse attitudes and higher levels, and even then... well, Flamedramon never objected to a fight where he didn't have to worry about Leith.
Flamedramon was quite honestly surprised about the extent of the collection inside the museums. Such a recently built structure had apparently acquired quite a few artifacts from old civilizations or iconic moments in digital history, and so many eye-catching, extravagant yet educational displays were almost but not quite overwhelming. The big, stupid grin on the armored lizard's face couldn't be contained. Even though he knew Shoutmon would have already dropped his headphones and tuned the place out, Flamedramon was still an Earth native at heart, giving this all a slight exotic element to it.
Well, that, and learning that Luke's ears flapped when he was excited. That was damn adorable.
"Backup Bayou? I've never heard of it."

Sensing that Flamedramon seemed a little uncomfortable by the reaction, Luke scowled at the onlookers. "Oh come on now, you've seen my brother do worse" he told them, before turning his back on them and proceeding into the museum.
Come to think of it, that they had seen his brother do worse was probably the reason why they had reacted so strongly to them. Well, at least other than the Gazimon it was mostly reactions of encouragement or the like. Welp, guess that was what happened if digimon kissed in public. Especially tall, lithe, naked warriors such as themselves... okay, Luke could now understand why half the digital world would have enjoyed the sight of them kissing. Still though, it was dang rude of them.
Thankfully once they had entered the museum all seemed to calm down, and Luke's attention would turn to the exhibits on display. It seemed Flamedramon hadn't been to the Backup Bayou, so Luke was happy to share the stories of his adventures there.
"It's basically an area of swampland between Whitewater and Rosewood" Luke said, moving on from the first artifact and walking slowly through the exhibit, taking in the sights of the old relics. "From when I visited there twice with Colin and Bellamy, we figured out that it used to be a civilization the size of Whitewater there, but, something seems to have happened hundreds of years ago. There's ruins scattered all about the place, most of them buildings sunk into the swamps there. But, we found signs of artifacts there. Digimentals, treasures, weapons, that much and more... yet the place is pretty risky. At one point we even had our digivolutions sealed, that was scary".
Curious to learn more about his boyfriend, Luke would then ask another question. "So, uh, Blue, sorry if this is a bit sudden, but... have you ever been up against a control spire before?" he asked, carefully. "You don't have to go into it if you have, just... I have too, so, just wondering".
He hoped he wasn't invoking too many bad memories here.

"The Bayou sounds like somewhere I'd rather avoid," Flamedramon casually commented, "Sounds interesting, but dangerous adventures haven't been my thing ever since Leith threw himself into harm's way and brought you three with him." Flamedramon seemed amused by what he said next: "Maybe Leith was onto something about being a shut-in." This thought seemed bittersweet to the drake. He didn't have to linger on it long, though. Rather ironically, the new topic actually perked him up a bit, the irony being that it was perhaps one of the scariest things he'd ever done in his life.
"A control spire once appeared in this place called the Sunken Elysium, but it was near the surface level. It was actually a total coincidence that we were there at all. We just wanted to go to the beach! But we saw it, and it was my bright idea to get involved." Flamedramon was clearly hinting that this idea, at least for him, backfired. He wasn't very broken up about that fact, though. "That was only the second time Leith and I fought together. Shoutmon wasn't even there! I can hardly remember a time without him now. Anyway, at first it seemed easy. We weren't alone, so one digimon handled the slave with a little damage on the spire, I focused most of my effort on the spire itself, and a couple of other digimon helped keep the two of us fit to fight and protect us. The problem is that digimon got a big attack on me. Ugh, it almost still hurts. While I was Raidramon, he stabbed a huge spear through right about..." Flamedramon cupped his hands around his midsection but off to one side, about just below the ribs. "Clean through."
"But that digimon, who actually ended up being our boss in ASCENSION now, healed me and kept it from getting too bad. That was the only reason I survived it when I got caught in a giant vortex of water that really beat me up. I..." Flamedramon hesitated, but he wasn't debating whether to continue, only how. "...hurt. A lot. But the spire came down, Cion patched me up instantly, and we freed the slave." Why did he still remember this event so fondly? Because, "That was the first time either of us ever did anything that mattered. Maybe we didn't save Whitewater, but we saved one person. That was the moment Leith started to think he was worth something as a Tamer. He wasn't happy about it, I mean, but he... he was glad he could do something good that mattered to someone. I was, too."

Luke could relate to what Flamedramon said. "Yeah, I guess so. I like adventures myself, but, not when they get too dangerous for my partner... and brother" he admitted Bellamy had a tendency to act before thinking. As they moved through the Backup Bayou exhibit, taking in the sights of all these artifacts, Luke actually found he was paying more attention to Flamedramon than the increasingly boring mudstone artifacts. He was intrigued by the blue drake's tale, that a tower had appeared in the Sunken Elysium. "Those ruins off the south coast?" Luke asked, intrigued. His spear almost touched a display, so he stopped walking as he listened to the whole tale. Luke's blue eyes widened as Flamedramon indicated where he was wounded. "Oh no... I hope it didn't leave a scar..." he leaned in for a closer look. "It really still hurts? Blue, have you seen a doctor about that?" he asked, clearly worried for him. Then the news of the water vortex. Luke gasped. "Oh wow, I'm really glad you survived that", then the Teslamon smiled. "And... I'm really impressed, Blue. It takes a lot to take down a tower like that, and, you managed it!"While Luke didn't say much more than that, in reality, that tale made him see Flamedramon in an even better light now. That the both of them had managed to take down a control spire as part of a team, Luke didn't so much as see him as a less strong digimon now as he had on the first day they met, more of an equal. By now Luke was a little bored of the Bayou exhibit, then saw something that interested him in the next room. "Ooh, what's this?" he asked out loud, then gasped at what was on display. Countless crystals, all somewhat glowing warmly in the winter sunglight that shone through the windows. "Ah... this is from the Shining Sea!" he exclaimed, intrigued. "Have you heard of it, Blue? Something like a desert between the West and North that glows in the night? Full of giant crystals like these?"Luke took a closer look at the exhibit. "I've been there once before, on an expedition when we were still with PROFIT. These crystals... they had some kind of strange power about them..." he was disappointed to see that there was a sign specifically saying "DO NOT TOUCH" on the exhibits, but turned to Flamedramon all the same. "I touched one of these with Colin as an Elecmon, then I digivolved straight to Teslamon... I have a theory that these crystals have something to do with our partners' digivices, but... haven't really got on to following up on that".
He paused, then continued on with another thought. "We found an abandoned city too, but, decided to retreat before we got too far entangled in what was going on. However, there's another group, KIZNA, they're gonna take a closer look at it" he explained, wondering if any of that meant anything to his boyfriend.
