Looking for Experienced Spirit Wielder! Hi! My name is Aoi, I'm an Otamamon and I'm looking for an experience spirit wielder to help my friend, he is also a spirit wielder but it's a little new to this whole thing and our last adventures had not go that well, I thought that maybe someone could help him understand a little what it means to be a spirit wielder and connect with his spirit! Also be warn that my friend has a bit of a temper and I could call him stubborn so patience is advice! We'll be waiting at the Spartan Training grounds Sincerely Aoi The Otamamon~ "You did WHAT?!?" Kyo shouted looking a little bit irritated "I post an add looking for some one to help you!" Said the Otamamon cheerfuly ignoring the anger tone of her partner Kyo just facepalmed and let out a tired sigh, true he does need a little help figuring out how to be an actual spirit wielder, as of now he only has evolved a couple of times and while he feels in sync with the spirit on those moments, most of the time they don't pay attention to each other he barely knows why he was selected in first place. "Besides, you have nothing to lose and this way you might be able to do something in case the cave event happens again"
And the frog dropped the bomb, as the man still has the guilt of not being able to help back then, in the end nothing happen thankfully and the duo was able to save Amelie from whatever was on that cave and manage to get a map for a future adventure with the French girl, but still he needs to get stronger so he can be of help for the very few people he can call friends. "Fine, I'll give it a try, just don't do things without consulting me again"
The duo awaited on the entrance of the Training grounds hoping to see this "teacher" for Kyo, who knows? It actually might be helpful and learn a thing or two of the spirit

The day was nice, as per usual in this part of the Digital World. The clouds gently flew by overhead as Toki happily walked along the path to the training grounds, checking the request for a teacher. A spirit user that needs a little bit of help? Sounds like something he could at least try to help with. For the longest time he wasn't even aware that training grounds even existed in this place. That definitely could have been useful a long time ago for him, but he didn't dwell on that. He looked over the post again and smiled at the mention of his 'student' being the stubborn sort. That's something he could relate to, so that shouldn't be a problem after a while.
He looked over the various training equipment and the amenities supplied to those who wished to use the training grounds and nodded to himself. "This place seems rather nice." he said to himself before he looked up to see a couple of figures in the distance. The Otamamon that posted the message and who he assumed to be the Spirit User they wanted to be helped. With his usual friendly disposition, Toki approached and waved at the duo "Hello there! I saw your request and thought it'd be a good learning experience for the both of us. My name's Toki Akiyama. It's a pleasure to meet the both of you." he said.
His spirit, a very calm looking Cherubimon of some sort, appeared behind him and bowed its head "I am glad to meet you as well. I hear you want to learn more about what it means to be a spirit wielder. I hope our guidance proves beneficial."
"We'll do our best, at any rate. So I guess we should start from the beginning? How about you tell us how you met your spirit and how well the two of you get along, if they're sentient enough to speak with you that is. There's a certain wavelength the two of you need to be at in order to properly evolve and keep it sustained. Some people say we just borrow the power, but if you ask me, we're more like...heirs being passed down powers that we have to use responsibly. I guess what I'm getting at is, how does your spirit want its power to be used, or what kind of personality do you think it has?"

It didn't took too long for his "teacher" to arrive and giving credit when credit is due he did look like a person with a lot of experience, they got close to greet his master, something he noted rather quickly was that the young man was taller than him for at least half a head.
"Hi, nice to meet you my name is Kyosuke Ishida a─" Before he could say anything else the little frog on his shoulder raised her voice
"HI! I'm Aoi, the one that make the add, thank you so much for coming!" The Otamamon wave cheerfully
One thing that surprised both was the appereance of Toki's spirit, that was a first time thing for Kyo and something he did not expect, he knew that spirits some spirits where sentient and may talk to the user, but being able to materialize? That was news to him, but interesting nonetheless makes him wonder if his own spirit can do that too.
That aside the next couple of questions that Toki made where a little tough to answer, he barely remembers something about his first time meeting the spirit aside meeting Amelie who kinda give him a quick sum up of what the digital world was and what a spirit wielder is.
"In all honesty our first meeting was a little weird, can't really remember what happen that day I just remember hearing its voice, I was on a black void and the spirit show me what I now know as my sprite form, said something about being a chosen one and then I woke up on the Mainframe Hills" After that Amelie come and help him go back to the human world but that's not really important "About if he speaks well... He does but most of the time just warns me about other spirit wielders or tamers that might hide their digimon, although he is capable of speaking more than a few sentences as sometimes does contact me and offer advice or his not much needed opinion on certain subjects, I guess it's a good thing I'm the only one I can hear him, as for personality it's hard to say when we barely talk but for hat I got he is prideful and doesn't like Virus type that much" Hopefully that would be enough information because it's kinda hard to talk about the spirit when they haven't do that themselves nor it sounds that it's interested in getting to know Kyo to begin with

Toki crossed his arms and nodded to himself as he listened to Kyo's explanation of his experiences thus far. "I see..." he spent some time thinking about this, though noticeably frowns when he mentions the spirit's disdain for Virus types "If you ask me, there's no place for the kind of mindset that prejudges someone based on type. There are perfectly nice Digimon out there that are Virus type. And truly awful ones that are not." he said. This was something he always felt rather strong about.
He shook his head a bit "But this isn't what we're here to talk about. So your spirit is capable of communicating with you. Have you ever tried reaching out to them? The two of you are linked from here on out, so I think it would be good for you to communicate as friends. It doesn't always have to be a serious moment." he said as he leaned against a nearby tree.
"Another thing, it's...not really helpful to just be called a 'chosen one.' There are a lot of us from what I can gather, so simply saying we're chosen ones isn't really going to narrow down what we want to pursue, you know?" he said. He kept a calm smile on his face to make the others comfortable around him. "Though I can relate to your early times here. I just remember being pushed into the river and woke up near the Village of Beginnings. Not long after I got here, I was out there helping someone find their Digimon. When we got attacked, my Digivice appeared and then...I don't remember much of my first spirit evolution, but I can tell you I was in a lot of pain afterwards." he rolled his shoulders a bit to emphasize the point.
"So let's figure something out here. First, how comfortable do you feel in your Sprite form, and what exactly is your goal? To sustain it? Or reach your next spirit stage? Second, what do you want to do with this power? To protect yourself? To protect others? To fight for your own ideals? Your decisions are your own. Everyone has their own definition of strength and once you figure that out I think you'll start having an easier time of it. That, and having the courage and confidence to take the steps needed to truly connect with one another. Treat your spirit like a person, because they are. Find out their history, their desires, their regrets. Bring them peace, or help them attain goals they've wanted to. As long as it's not too destructive towards other people, of course."

Kyo had to agree with Toki that the mindset of his spirit was wrong, anyone who thinks that it's better than someone else be just by their race (or in this case type) is asking for a beat down, specially if they think they deserve a special treatment or abuse their "power" on the small and weak, there is a reason he use to be a bully hunter and being honest he still is one.
"Reaching out? How? I don't even know if he hears everything I say or reads my mind or something, he just decides to talk whenever he feels like" The man shrugged, most of the time he didn't even felt the presence of the spirit so it was hard to know if he was there "To say the least he always warns me when another spirit wielder is near and one time a tamer but we were on the human world so I believe it's easier to detect them there, yet this time he didn't warn me about you"
"Maybe because we know about Toki and he seems nice, sure the spirit can recognize the good intentions of our friend!" Aoi finally speak
"And I'd agree if it wasn't because whenever is another spirit wielder around he always says something like "It is hard to understand their intentions and whether they're allies or enemies" so it feels a little weird him not saying anything now"
To say that the questions brought by Toki were good was an understatement, he made really good questions that some he had thought while others not so much, what he really wanted tho? Up to now he just wander around waiting for something interesting to happen, sure he met a couple of people that he'd like to help but as of now he's really weak having just the sprite form and the spirit not thinking that he is ready to get the new stages.
"I just want to get stronger... I'm a jerk and I don'tr try to hide it, I suck at socializing too, but there is at least 2 persons I know that they kinda are special in a way and wish to help them, but as of now I can't reach other forms nor the spirit wants to talk with me and I've barely fight to say that I know the ins and outs of the sprite form" A tone of frustration in his voice "Last adventure I almost lost one of them and I couldn't help but feel useless and powerless I NEED to get stronger"

Toki paced back and forth a bit as he mused over Kyo's words. "It's tough at the beginning, but a lot of things are. I'd at the very least take the chance to sit down and attempt to speak with him however you can. I'm sorry I can't be of much help in that regard, but my spirit's more of the talkative sort so I rarely have trouble communicating with him. Perhaps take it as a bit of a meditative experience. Hold onto your digivice, quiet your mind, and see if you can feel their presence anywhere. Even if it's just a feeling, that means you're making progress."
He smiled softly at his words "You say you're a jerk, but you give yourself far too little credit. You have a fondness for others and a desire to protect them. There's warmth in you. Be at peace with that. There's no shame in it. Being more introverted is also okay. That's how I've been for a very long time...it's only until recently I've been able to break out of my shell a bit."
His smile faded a little at his story "I'm sorry you had to go through something like that. I admire your resolve to get stronger for the sake of another. Alright, you said you barely know the ins and outs of your sprite form? That's okay. It's where all of us Spirit Users begin. Don't see that form as weak. It's strong in its own way. It also marks the beginning of your journey, so treasure that. Once you try contacting your spirit, how about we just...practice getting into our sprite forms and using our abilities? Seeing what kinds of abilities you have will help me teach you practical uses for them."
"It's been quite a while since I've used my sprite form, but let's begin!" he said happily as the single ring of code swirled around his hand. He pulled his Digivice out of his jacket pocket and brought the code across the scanner "Spirit Evolution!" he shouted the data dispersing around him and covering his body. The orb of light that swirled around him faded as a shorter rabbit in martial arts gear appeared in Toki's place "Turuiemon!"
He stretched his legs a bit "Ah, nice and simple. Good to go back to the basics every once in a while. So! Let's see you change into your spirit. Take your time, friend!"

Kyo wasn't surprise that meditation as a means to contact the spirit was brought up, to be perfectly honest is a thought he had but meditation is not his thing, sitting in complete silence waiting for something to happen? Nope, ain't gonna happen.... But since he agree on the teacher might as well give it a try so Toki see that he does want to learn.
"Just because I'm acting nice now doesn't mean I'm like this all the time, I know when to stop being an ass" He said and then sit legs crossed "Don't take me wrong I know deep down I can be a good guy but... I grew up learning to take care of myself and just myself so I'm pretty much a loner, not a team player, everything I do is for myself" A little contradictory to what he say earlier of wanting to help 2 persons that he feels are special, denial much?
Closing his eyes Kyo tried to focus and reach the spirit, at first things didn't seem to go anywhere and his patience was running short, if the spirit was there it was making a nice job eluding Kyo and when the man was ready to give up he felt something, a small and weak presence but quickly banish and soon the voice of the spirit sound on his head.
"I'm honored that you finally decided to reach me, sadly I know why you're here and the answer is no, you're still not ready"
And silence again, to say that THAT was frustrating was an understatement Kyo quickly stand up boiling in angerm what's the point of choosing him if it's not gonna let him get the rest of the totems? It make no sense!
"Screw you then!" He sigh and then look at Toki "Says I'm not ready"
"Well, that's why Toki is here!" Said the little frog happily oblivious to how spirit wielders work "To help you get ready and do whatever spirits do!"
The contact might've been a complete failure but next step was going to sprite form and train? Yeah that's more like it, Kyo saw Toki going for the usual procedure of evolution and pay close attention to his teacher new form, a bunny with a martial art gear? Interesting not too much different from the ghostly image he saw when they introduce themselves, Kyo didn't lose much time and also evolve the ring of coding covering him in a cocoon of light before banishing and revealing Strabimon
"Meditating ain't my thing, but fighting? I make a living out of it, I'm ready when you are" The wolf grinned

"I think I see your problem. You have this image of yourself that you're a loner and that you live for yourself, but that image has been altered thanks to the people you wish to protect. Just because you grew up fending for yourself doesn't mean that's how you always have to live or view yourself." he said as Kyo tried to reach his spirit through meditation. Kyo looked uneasy and impatient, but he was doing well in Toki's eyes just by trying.
Then the anger came and Kyo shouted at the spirit for saying he wasn't ready. "I'm sure they meant no offense. You have a lot going on, and I can empathize with that. Not being ready for something doesn't mean you're being mocked, Kyo. It means you just need more time to adjust and learn what you're currently capable of. Build fundamentals and grow from there."
Kyo's attitude changed when the concept of combat training came up and soon he easily changed into his sprite form, something that made Toki smile happily "Well you've got Spirit Evolution down pretty well if I do say so myself. That's a good first step!" he said. He tilted his head a bit once he got ready for a fight "You make a living out of fighting, hm? Well let's see how that translates to a fight between Digimon."
He crouched down slightly into a combat stance. Legs apart, knees bent. He took a deep breath with his eyes closed before he slowly opened them before he made a gesture with his hand to 'bring it.' "The first move is yours, Kyo. Let's see what you can do."

Well he did not expect for Toki to lecture him about how his "image" have change and while yes, he can see that something might have change admitting it is not easy, specially thanks to life past experience and sure not all people are the same, but it hurt less to be a loner than to put hopes on someone else just to let you down constantly.
"Maybe, who knows? The wolf walks alone until someone gets his trust after all"
"Not being doesn't mean you're mocked" He's right but at the same time it's not the answer you want to hear when you feel weak and powerless, as good and useful as the sprite form can be it has its limitations and he doesn't expect win against a champion with just that form, no matter how much you can avoid the enemy attacks or if you outsmart your enemy, once they get a hit on you that's it.
Fortunately this was going to be just a small Sprite fight, in any other case Kyo would ask Toki to not hold back but you gotta accept your limits before breaking them, he didn't know much about martial arts so aside the "bring it" gesture the wolf couldn't really make up anything about Toki's fighting style, well since this was just a spar no need to bring the strong abilities aside his own knowledge of boxing, he clench his hand into fist and raise them in front of his face moving back and forth taking the famous "Peek-A-Boo" stance
"I hope you don't hold back, just because I'm new to digimon fighting doesn't mean is I don't know how to throw a punch" He grinned getting ready to throw the first attack.
Kyo took a quick step forward to close the distance between him and Toki and then deliver a straight left followed by a right hook, then he quickly took a step back creating distance again, for now nothing too complicated seeing how his oponent will react, be on the defense even when you attack until you see the opening you need, after all no need to go all out on the first move

Toki felt as if he may have said something unintentionally hurtful. He would have to apologize later...he focused on the training at hand. That stance indicated that Kyo was a boxer. Toki had never sparred against a boxer before so this should be an interesting experience for both of them. "If you do not want me to hold back, then I won't. Let's go." he said with a smile. He intended to keep that promise.
Kyosuke dashed forward. Toki raised a palm to catch the left straight and brought up his right leg to guard his body against the hook. He hopped back with Kyo and nodded before he went in for his own attack. When he got close to Kyo, he swung his right leg for a powerful roundhouse towards his head. Whatever happened next, he would suddenly stomp that foot down and pivot his body for a heavy left straight aimed for Kyo's torso. "I've studied Kyokushin Karate for my entire life. I'm excited to see how our styles differ." he said with his usual positive tone of voice.
Kyo had not used a digimon ability quite yet, so neither would he. He would respond in turn with whatever Kyo threw at him. However, he would fight back with all he could like he said. This was Kyo's chance to vent. Toki knew that. He recalled the spars back home. In an odd way, he missed them. How he wished he could go back and appreciate the time he had with his fellow students and his family.
Toki's breathing was calm and practiced as he assumed his normal stance in front of Kyo. His mind was sharp, and he was ready to continue. What would Kyo do next? How would he react? It was refreshing to have a fight like this again, especially since it was to help someone meet their desired strength.

Toki manage to avoid and block his two first strikes without much problem , which was good as he wasn't really expecting the attacks to connect but just to start the sparring and see how his "teacher" would react, as Toki dashed forward and throw the roundhouse kick, the wolf raised his guard to the right side of his head and while the attack was blocked Kyo might've underestimated the strength of it and lose his balance staggering a little, as the second attack from the rabbit was coming he decided to move away to the left than receive it again.
"That kick sure hurt, good means you're not gonna hold back as I ask" The wolf said shaking his arm before assuming the stance again "Karate huh? I'd like to say that I hear about it but my combat experience goes only against other boxers and a couple of street fights but I can assure you no one there knew a fighting style like yours, this will be an interesting spar"
Dashing towards Toki again he throw two quick jabs before going for an uppercut, this time instead of taking a step back he stood as close as he could and if the rabbit took a step back he immediately would step forward trying to keep their distance as close as possible, that way if he tries to throw a punch it'll be easier to duck or dodge out of the way and been so close could make it difficult for Toki to throw a kick like last time, still being this close also could mean that he could be grabbed and boxers don't have many ways to defend against that.
He could also try to use one of the abilities of his spirit but if Toki hasn't make one he won't either, better keep things fair and square, besides the fight just begone it's not smart to go all out on the first round, "save your energy for the late rounds and score the victory when your opponent is exhausted" that's what his trainer always said

Toki blocked the jabs as usual, but Kyo's push to stay close to him threatened his balance a bit. He kept himself planted in his stance and pushed back against Kyo, though that left him open to the uppercut. He recoiled back when it made contact with his chin. He staggers back, struggling, but smiled "Nice hit." he suddenly lurches forward again and goes for a series of heavy punches to Kyo's ribs, taking a step forward with each punch to put the pressure on.
This close, any of his more sweeping kicks wouldn't have the room to actually be used effectively. He would keep the pressure on and wait for Kyo to go back to his peekaboo stance. If he did, Toki would kick his left leg up, threatening to push Kyo's arms apart before bringing his foot down on top of his head for a strong heel kick. Afterwards he would shove him away with his shoulders and once again stomp back into his default stance.
"Boxing vs. Karate...I'm sure there are movies about this somewhere." he said with a chuckle "Maybe a video game or two." he smiled, clearly enjoying himself. "I hope this is going well for you, Kyo. Keep at it!"
Kyo's apparently been in a lot of fights throughout his life, and his skill certainly showed that. What made him decide to be such a lone wolf? Was it just a desire of his? He didn't seem like a typical introvert...something must have happened. At least that's what Toki thought before he continued to focus on the battle at hand. Kyo was keeping his Digimon form pretty stable, so it wasn't a matter of not having the focus to attain the next form. What was it, then? He would continue to gauge how Kyo fought.

Keeping the pressure seemed to be a good idea at first, specially after the uppercut landed, Toki decide to play the same strategy and put pressure on the wolf by striking at the mid section, taking a step forward with every punch he throw he force Kyo to lower his guard to block the punches and take a steps back threatening his balance, thinking that he had a good defense and that soon he could counter attack soon prove to be wrong as Toki break his guard with one kick and then intermediately follow with another kick to his head
"Not bad..." He said scratching his head a little "Guess after this one can say that it's "The King of the Iron Fist" He chuckled loosing up his stance a little, arms resting to the side of his body and his hands were open, he still move back and forth taking small jumps from time to time "Time to prove another strategy"
That said Kyo launched towards Toki one more time, but instead of going for quick punches this time the wolf stomped Toki's foot and then spin to the left using the momentum to hit the rabbit with the back of his hand if this missed he would still use the momentum of the spin to make a downward slash with his left claw, after that Kyo would take several step back, crouching as if he was ready to leap forward again, on arm close to the ground the other raise at the same height of his head, hands half open with the claws pointing to Toki
"Gotta loosen up a bit, it's a digimon fight after all, I should be using the more natural abilities of this form, right?"

Toki smiled and kept on his toes as Kyo recovered from the previous hit. "King of Iron Fist...catchy." he said. He wondered what he was going to do next. Kyo's posture had relaxed a bit, making it difficult to properly read what he was going to try. He raised his fists in anticipation.
Kyo dashed forward and Toki was ready for a punch, but felt a pain down at his foot when he stomped down. He grit his teeth and ducked under the backhand as he pried his foot away from Kyo's, though couldn't move in time as the sharp slash connected and cut across his shoulder. Despite the pain, he grinned "Now you're getting it...however..." he muttered before he circle stepped around Kyo's charge and in an instant, kicked upwards at his gut before stomping and bringing his fist down against his back.
He stood where we was regardless of the outcome "One step back is enough. Use your legs to spring forward after a single jump back. Too many steps makes a charge too obvious. But you understand that our powers and traits as Digimon can be used with the skills we already know." he said. He was ready to continue if Kyo wanted to, but was still thinking what exactly it was his spirit wanted from him. "What is it your spirit wants from you, I wonder? I can tell you have the fortitude to handle your next spirit, so that must mean there's something else they want you to tap into. Something they want you to see and understand before you take that next step forward. Has he anything new to say?" he questioned, still in a strong stance for the next attack, whenever it might come.

So far this sparring has been a back and forth, one of them charged and attack while the other counter attacked, while one could say that they were even Toki was quicker to understand Kyo's attack patterns and counter accordingly, this time taking advantage the long gap the wolf was creating to get ready and stop his next charge with a kick to the gut.
"Maybe you are right..." He said standing up and catching his breath "Having a long gap makes the charge obvious, yet whenever I bring the claws something tells me to have distance for a clear view before leaping for the attack" The wolf sit on the floor "I don't know, sometimes you could say that an instinct takes little control and give me certain ideas of how to adapt my fighting style, after all when you have this claws boxing doesn't seem like the smart choice"
Hearing Toki's question of what do the spirit want of him made Kyo thought that it would be good to try and contact him again, after all this little sparring should prove that it's ready for the next stages, right? Focusing again he search for the spirit voice and this time he found it much quicker than before, could be because at this point they are still fused
"Outstanding show, you can improve for sure but I will not say that I'm not impressed, yet you are still not ready" The spirit sentenced "While physically you may be ready, mentally is a whole different thing, the hero's journey is a long path and you should not skip any of them, I need a warrior to inherit my powers not a brute that jumps head first without thinking, when you understand that I'll guide you to the next totem"
That said Kyo started boiling in frustration once again, so much that he lost control of the form and went back to human, the urge to scream and punch something raise but he fortunately manage to calm down and with a sight he lay on the grass
"So... You know something about "The Hero's Journey" or something like that? 'Cuz I sure don't" He asked Toki hoping a little more enlightment on what the spirit meant
