The largest of the Binary archipelago islands, the mainland which saw a lot of visitors. The weather was shining bright as always, white sparkle and glimmer working it’s way to the various types of ground. The sand, the foliage, the rocky more mountainous parts. Not a square inch of exposed surface was spared the sunny beams of light. It gave a calming, warm glow over the entirety of the beautiful archipelago island.
Amongst the rocky outreaches, swathes of grey and brown jagged shapes scaling high into the sky and showing off an impressive mountainous shape close to the centre of island. A dot of black moved about on the large sunlit surface, like a spot of vantablack absorbing the sun’s heat, ignoring the reflective sheen that everything else had. Bero had walked up one side of the mountain today, looking far and wide for magma vents which should have accompanied the smoke coming at the top of the mountain. He wanted to see the magma and determine its temperature, see the fire it burned with.
However, it had all been for naught. This side of the cliff was as devoid of interest as Bero’s cape was devoid of it’s usual silver stripes. The cape was almost smoldering in the sunny heat, one could swear that it was the latent heat of the cape burning black, to be as black as it was now. Bero hopped over a small rock, only to tumble over the new earthy ground he landed on, recovering himself quickly with a grunt. His cloak had been up in the air for a bit high above him as he stood legs wide. It slowly calmed down to softly rest against his back, the heat it had gathered touching Bero’s scales once more. The trip downward was a continued series of careful walking and tumbling until he once more reached the bottom of the mountain.
He had been fortunate to have gotten so fire resistant, else he’d be burned from the hot ground, which luckily had subsided as the ground gave way to grass and shrubbery. He looked back up the mountain, seeing shining black surfaces amongst the rock, lines of absolutely basic code running along the small bits of processor that stuck out of the mountain like ores. He shook his head in irritation as he noted there was nothing of the fire that caused the smoke above the mountain, which in itself was also lacking.
His feet made soft strides onto the thin forest area that separated the mountain from the beach. Bero stook out like a sore thumb, a black void on top of glimmering green grass, until the moment he stepped under the cover of tropic trees and thin forest. The shadow of the leaves instantly made him far and far less noticeable. Walking through the Forest, he came upon small openings where there had been homes or small shops. Placing a hand against his cloak, he could feel how warm it had gotten. Sadly, he did not have the bits to buy something to cool it off right now.
Bero simply continued, eventually reaching the beach once more. The beach was as busy as one would expect, although luckily not absolutely stuffed. The sands had been warmed up nicely, the soft sounds of water shushing the worries of any present. Not everyone could notice, and Bero wasn’t sure why he did, but he could tell the sheen of firewalls set up further in the water, to prevent movement from both sides, a sort of sparkling translucent surface which you could see the occasional red triangle in.
While usually, any digimon reaching the beach would have someone clambering to walk up to them to sell them something, Bero was met with a quiet reception. Despite for all the hustle and bustle the beach had, it seemed Bero had made a name of sorts in the short time he had been here, and no merchant approached him. Without hindrance, Bero started walking onto the beach, any other rookies or lower giving him a slight berth, as Bero looked for a peaceful spot on the beach. Eventually finding on, he calmly walked over there. A few people gave him wary eyes when he stood still.
Plop. He let himself fall onto his legs and read end, sitting in the warm sands and listlessly looking at the ocean and sand around him. His Cloak was once more warming up again, basking in the sun. Digimon still gave him a slight berth, although he did not act against it in any way or form.

Since PROFIT had disbanded, Colin and his partners still visited this part of the Binary Archipelago from time to time. From their old base on Kongou Island to the significance of the area with their evolutions to Champion, then Mega, then Super Mega, this place held a lot of significance to them.
Firstly, because Colin thrived in the humid coastal environments here. The water meant that it was never too hot for him, and the moisture in the air kept his sensitive lungs in working order. And as long as there was land, his partners Luke the Elecmon and Bellamy the Impmon were happy too. Neither of them performed particularly well in water, so being on land next to it was their ideal situation.
This was their third day on this island. They were steeling themselves for their planned expedition to the Dark Area. Also present was Bellamy's daughter Gaz the Gazimon, who hoped to act as a coach for her father and uncle.
"Call that a baddaboom, dad? That was just baddapathetic!" she scolded her furred Impmon dad at a particularly weak attack aimed at the rocky target.
"I just slipped up is all!" Bellamy snapped back at her, internally agreeing, but still, didn't like being told off like that.
"Let's have a break" Colin suggested, not wanting them to fight with tempers like that. Thankfully they agreed, the three digimon returning to their cabin aboard the airship digimon Daedalus for some water and light snacks.
"How goes the training?" Daedalus asked through his onboard PA system.
"Eh, getting there I guess" Bellamy answered. In truth he didn't feel like he was getting any stronger. The challenge just didn't seem to be there.
"Hmm. Well I've been operating my sensors and it may interest you to know that there seems to be a large number of digimon on a beach at the other side of the island" Daedalus said. "Shall we take a look?"
"Oh them, they're alright, just vacationers from Terminus mostly" Luke said, recognizing that some digimon might not be appreciating the cold winter and have thus come this far south.
"Still though, let's check it out" Bellamy suggested. The others agreed and before long, Daedalus was coming in to land on a spot of clear land at the edge of the beach, where the sand could support him and so as not to disturb the beachgoers. Still, a large 30m red and white mechanical dragon airship would surely gain attention.
And thus they disembarked Daedalus. Colin wearing his usual clothes of a red scarf, indigo shirt, black pants and sneakers; Bellamy wearing a red scarf, red gloves and a leather belt and cross-strap securing leather shoulder armor; Luke with a blue scarf and a similar shoulder armor, and Gaz wearing her usual clothes of nothing whatsoever.
"Hm, looks alright so far" Colin remarked, the four of them beginning to walk along the beach curiously. Of course they drew attention right away, but unless they were being offered things useful to them, they'd decline most of these beachside merchants.

Bero sat there, allowing himself to remain in an irritated mood, incapable of not noticing the increased activity elsewhere on the Beach. He did his best to not look at it, since he didn’t generally respond well to… anything, really. With so many champions around, he didn’t want to raise an alarm or cause problems for himself in any capacity. However, his natural survival instinct told him to be wary of the loud sound that the large landing airship created. Or was it airship digimon, realistically? He didn’t really know, all he knew is that most vehicle digimon were way out of his league, so he didn’t need to bother with this one. He would resume doing his best job to ignore the environment entirely.
He only needed to stand up or get angry for longer than an entire second before something would potentially go wrong. So his experience spoke to him. As if on cue though, time passed and a large crowd of people who were trying to sell stuff to new visitors parted, to reveal the newcomers to the beach. A Human. With digimon to boot. Plural, as a matter of fact. He failed to understand how these things happened. He’s met humans who were equal matched, but every single one failed to charm him in any capacity. Even if they fought him time and time again and won, they and their mentality did not belong in the digital world.
Yet this one hadn’t charmed one, but multiple digimon to follow him around. Bero sneered. His fires of his cloak reared up for a second, but like a flashfire, they died down. He looked to all the champions around and calmed himself down, as far as he could. Some of his scales started flashing red, occasionally from their soft silvery to a much brighter, glowing colour. His Cape also started getting frazzled. Digicode messages started appearing, hovering just an inch above the parts of his scales that were closest to his black cape. ‘Overheat Exception’ they read. Bero was baking in the sun and trying to ingore it. He had taken worse burns, he’s sure some long term slow burning wouldn’t damage his code too much.
He’d be fine in the long run. If the human came closer, he would sneer at the human, and light his cloak aflame, only causing more exceptions. He’d never do it for longer than a second though, and wouldn’t do it at all if Colin didn’t approach him.

As they continued along the beach, Gaz was distracted by one of the digimon nearby that was looking at them. They were a BlackGabumon of some kind, and the way he blazed his cloak soon drew Colin, Luke and Bellamy's attention as well.
"Huh, ain't that somethin'" Bellamy remarked. He had always thought a Gabumon's coat was flammable, but it seemed it was that digimon's natural element. Although there was something in the way he was looking at Colin that the furred Impmon didn't like.
"Hm. He doesn't look too good..." Gaz remarked, unsettled by the sight of the strange data rising from him. Normally, data like that meant that a digimon was wounded or probably worse. She looked at her father and uncle. "Should I go ask if he's okay? He might be in need of some healing"
"I don't know..." Bellamy began, but Luke shrugged.
"Sure, doesn't hurt to at least ask" Luke said. Gaz would then walk toward the BlackGabumon, waving a paw.
"Hey there, you feelin' okay?" she asked. At a closer glance, one would note that Gaz was a little different to the average Gazimon. Her eyes were emerald-green, and she had a little more of an impish look about her. If the BlackGabumon needed help, she'd call over Luke. If not, she'd probably leave him be.

The figures seemed interested in him. Frag it all to the dark zone and back. He didn’t want to deal with this kind of thing right now. Not finding anything and being way too surrounded by stronger digimon was hell enough in itself. Engaging in interaction when he couldn’t prove his superior mettle through combat? Torture. Absolute terror itself. Impossibility incarnate.
Gaz came closer to him, a slightly different Gazimon from most, but nothing he deemed worth noticing. Or so he thought. There was a slight difference in the way she used, it made her seem more lithe, more tricky. Important things to note for a battle, not that he thought it mattered. After all, no matter what she did, she also sympathized with the arguably useless humans. Even if some black-caped, Cupimon-befriending, cocky jerks were really good at kicking Bero’s face. But she was polite, and was asking him if he needed help. Behaviour he did not expect from the expression he had just given them. Well, maybe he could manage something, if they were being polite. It wouldn’t be the first person that fought him as a polite gesture. Wisemon knows why, he didn’t really show any personality that was worth the politeness.
He sneered. Calling them a name to exemplify on their true nature wouldn’t hurt too much. Not that he could help it if he felt he should at least be honest with how he felt towards them, and letting them know. Communication was the basis of communication. Even if they didn't like it, they were in just as much trouble as he was if they started a fight, right? His words contained a powerful disdain, but weren’t as taunting or angry as usual, just unfriendly. “I am fine, at least i’m not reliant on… that. I don't need no help from anyone who would be weak enough to pair with a human. I prefer my acquaintances being capable sorts.”
He spoke with great snark, looking at Colin and creating a thin layer of blue fire all over him to match the gesture and exemplify his dislike towards the human. As the fire on his back formed and vanished almost just as quickly, the red error messages continued, increasing for the split second he had his fire on. No matter how worrisome they were and how much damage they were doing to him, it seemed Bero was adamant to not care, which showed in his expression focused on the Gazimon and the human that had accompanied her.

Gaz was a little puzzled by that reaction. 'Welp, glad dad's outta hearin' range, he'd be pissed off alright' she thought. But she would answer the hothead regardless.
"Yeesh, angry little guy ain't ya?" she asked. "And meh, I ain't with the human. I mainly hang around him 'cause he's my dad's partner" she explained. Still, she liked Colin, and felt a flash of anger as the BlackGabumon declared that humans were weak. But still, that gave her an idea.
"Them's fightin' words there" she declared, rubbing her chin, then sneered right back at him. "Bet my dad and uncle could still kick your ass though" she taunted. "Though seriously, you okay? Wouldn't be a fair fight if you were wounded".
Yep, that's right, Gaz was still interested in helping her family train up for the battles ahead. And this smug anti-human digimon might just be the motivation they needed.
"Gaz, what's goin' on, why's he pointin' at Colin?" Bellamy asked, approaching too.
"He said you and uncle Luke are weak for pairin' with humans" Gaz replied truthfully.
"Is that right ya sneering punk?!" Bellamy snapped, his green eyes narrowing with dislike. "You wanna put your money where your mouth is eh?" he raised a finger, conjuring a small fireball.
"Bells, easy now..." Luke warned his brother, approaching too. "Don't pick fights here..."
"Actually, was thinkin' this might be a good opportunity" Gaz said, smiling. "You and dad need training, this guy seems pretty fired up, so, how 'bout it, hotshot?" Gaz asked the BlackGabumon.
All of this was going too fast for Luke. "Um... does he need healing or not?" he asked, a little awkwardly. Then Colin too arrived, a little cautiously. Gaz explained it all again to him. Once Colin understood, he folded his arms, giving a small grin in response.
"So, you think humans and our partners are weak, eh?" the AEGIS agent asked. "How about we settle that?" by now Colin had encountered more than a few digimon that were xenophobic toward humans and he was beginning to get annoyed at that kind of prejudice. It was about time he had the chance to challenge one of them.

Angry little guy… Yep, that was Bero alright. And he embraced it too, although he did not like being called short, he was already so hotheaded that adding that anger to the pile did little, if not nothing, to his overall mood. She commented on it being her dad’s partner. How had she even found her father? Ugh, so many digimon dealt with this whole parents deal. Bero wondered why he never met his. Whatever, it was unimportant, and didn’t change the situation at hand. She commented on it being fighting words, to which Bero not only grinned but opened his eyes up further and tilted his head slightly. He spoke in a mocking tone, the sand shifting under him as he leaned towards her a bit. “Nahhh, Really? I thought people always took to fire and painful truths like it were a casual conversation.”
As if it wasn’t horrible enough that his choice of words was mocking her intelligence, his tone also tried to ridicule the way she pointed out something he had considered obvious. He clearly thought she was being a dumb Gazimon. He also clearly believed to be on some pedestal above her, speaking of ‘painful truths’.
The impmon now came closer, a green eyed fellow who seemed to be curious to the situation. Bero watched with a wicked grin as Bellamy took offense and conjured his small fireball. Bero observed it, noticing it’s temperature was at the very least hotter than the fires most rookies could generate. He was getting fired up himself, seeing Bellamy’s flames. He stood up, the white sand shifted under his feet and one could swear they might even hear a sizzling come off of either the sand or Bero’s skin. Bero’s entire cape caught blue flame the crackling noise overtaking the noise of his damage or any sizzling. Blue fires raged upwards creating a much larger fireball to Eclipse all of the Blackgabumon, who put his fists together in a challenging gesture, although his cape didn’t move much yet besides being on Fire. “Hah! Rather be a punk than a weakling who’s looking to be coddled by a human”
And now the Elecmon approached. Something about his posture and methodology was different, much different than the fun hotheadedness the Impmon. He was cautious, Bero could tell it from the way he moved and the words he chose. It only pissed him off and made him want to fight more. Of course those kind of nice digimon were the one to pair with a human. Well, he’d be learning them a lesson soon enough. Then the Elecmon and the Gazimon started talking about how they shouldn’t and how they should fight.
“You’re digidanmed right i’d be down for a fight! And if you’re down too, maybe i won’t get any law-keeping asshats on my back!” When the elecmon spoke, Bero’s fires died down for a second, his eyes focused on some champions and other stronger digimon staying around the beach, whom he feared might break up the combat. But Gaz’s suggestion came as a blessing from above, which is why Bero reignited in full flame and responded with great grinning pleasure.
The Elecmon asked if he wanted healing, to which he rolled his eyes. He was somewhat damaged, and he supposed it would impact his performance, but it was just another disadvantage he’d have to deal with. “Well, i’m not ABOVE taking the healing if you’re offering. If you want to fight me at my full strength, it’s your funeral, bud.”
He grinned towards the three, even as Colin arrived. Bero was small, even amongst Gabumon, and had to look way up to face Colin. Bero crossed his arms as he grinned in defiance against the human’s words of challenge. He wanted to settle the idea. Bero laughed aloud at the suggestion. “I’m not going to be saying no if you types come to me yourself! Just don’t cry when i toss your ass out to a trailmon terminal like i did all the humans before!”
A blatant lie, Bero has met more issues fighting against humans by now, and not nearly every human he has met has been thrown out to one of the Trailmon Terminals, although a good few still had. He wouldn’t mind adding this one to the list, even if they arrived here by different means. Also like, he couldn’t haul Colin all the way to a trailmon terminal from here, but that didn’t even cross his mind.

Bellamy grinned at Bero at those words. "Heh, guess someone's jealous then" he taunted. "Why yeah, I enjoy bein' coddled by a human. I cuddle with Colin every night, because he's my friend" he then leaned forward a little, mockingly. "Do you have any of those?" he asked, feigning ignorance. "Easy on there, Bells" Luke said, scowling at his brother, but didn't outright stop him, he was a little annoyed at those words himself. It seemed the challenge was on from all sides. Not even Luke raised an objection, therefore Gaz would make the arrangements. "Gazimon... Warp-Digivolve to...!"Before their eyes, Gaz transformed far beyond what Colin and his partners had thought possible. Bellamy for one stared in wonder at how far his daughter had grown. The "Warp" was no joke either. She had bypassed her Champion level completely, and was revealing herself in her Ultimate form. And boy what a form it was. She stood ten feet tall, an almighty wolf-like digimon with a drill-like horn on her head. Her armor was purple and silver, as well as her fur. And her weapon was a violet spiral drill-spear. "...JaegerDorulumon!"As the light of the evolution faded, Gaz then raised her drill-spear in the air, making it spin at high speed. The faster it went, a vortex of glowing pink light began to form, until with a cry of "Life Halation!" she cast a spell of healing over Luke, Bellamy and the BlackGabumon altogether. Such a potent healing technique would surely make such a match undisputable. "Alright, fellas..." Gaz said, speaking to all. "This is gonna be a supervised match for all to see... stakes are pride alone". It was clear she was playing the part of the showperson, advertising it as a point of entertainment for fellow beachgoers. At once, a large portion of the digimon on the beach turned their attention and began to gather in view of the battle. "On one side, a solo digimon that claims humans and their partners are weak. And on the other side, a human and his twin partners. Will that challenge prove right or wrong? We shall see..." of course Gaz didn't want anyone to die in this match. "Knockout only guys, go any further and I'll stop you" she promised. For a moment, Colin, Luke and Bellamy were a little unnerved by this sequence of events, but, for the trio, a fair battle supervised by an Ultimate level... yeah, that seemed pretty legit from where they were standing. "Well... if this is what you guys want..." Luke said, assuming a battle stance. "Sure, I'm up for a scrap"."It's on, hornhead" Bellamy added, grinning competitively. "Speaking of, what's your name? Bellamy here, Luke's my brother, Colin's my partner, Gaz there's my daughter. Just for the benefit of those in the audience so they know who owned your ass today".Colin had a feeling it wouldn't be that simple, but he was there, ready to support his partners in this match however he could.
Gaz uses Life Halation on Luke, Bellamy and Bero, restoring them to full HP to begin the match.
Life Halation: Gaz raises her spear, making it spin and glow with light, then sends forth waves of multicolored light over herself and allies. Restores a minor amount of health received from damage. [Cooldown: 2 turns]

“Friends? Oh so you’re one of those types? The types who’d rather straddle behind to make friends and limit each other’s freedom together rather than attain power and fight, as a digimon should, to be free? This should be fun.” Bero sure wasn’t holding back, but there was something of a wistfulness to his words. His acting was almost on point though, so it was hard to tell that he was just saying this to piss off the impmon and get in a better fight. With even the Elecmon in on it, Bero was starting to feel pumped. The Gazimon digivolved to a much more powerful form, which irritated Bero immensely. His fires burned less brightly, and he even staggered back as he watched her get much stronger. Well then, it turns out he really, really, really needed some method to tell what stage other digimon could become, because if he wasn’t careful with his actions here, he’d be catching all hell. Despite being under supervision instead of fighting freely, Bero had made his point and was ready to pull through. He took a deep breath as he was healed, the red code vanishing and his grey scales entirely visible once more. Without any pain to annoy him more than he already was, he could stoke the fires somewhat higher. He crossed his arms and watched in irritation as the now JaegerDorulumon announced the stakes of the battle and the nature of it being supervised. He wasn’t happy, but he wasn’t running either. Knockout only… Well, it’s not like Bero ever went further. With even the more shy digimon ready to fight, The impmon introduced himself and the people around him.Bero gave a sly smile. “Earn it.”Accompanying his words, Bero’s fiery coat started crackling before the flame grew to an almost roaring flame. Bero walked closer to the two with calm steps. “So, two on one? Let’s skip the niceties then and see if you two are ready for trial by fire. Petit Arena!”The roaring flame of his cape got even more impressive as it suddenly spread out to his sides, and within what seemed to be just a split second, a roaring wall of flame surrounded the three in an arena made of Blue fire. Bero was already lit blue by his own flames, so it didn’t make him appear visually much different. Now roaring with blue fires surrounding his cloak, Bero made a dash towards Bellamy! He was aiming to force Bellamy into the wall of flame of Petit Arena, but he knew a straightforward attack was going to be too risky! He was going to try to perform a kick early, to feint them out, and then push them into the fire with his claws which would suddenly stretch, but they’d have time to respond to these first attacks before Bero could attempt to shove them both! Bero starts the battle off with Accelerant Ignition! Bero approaches the twins slowly and when in range, suddenly traps Luke, Bellamy and Bero in Petit Arena! Bero runs to Bellamy, intending to do a feint kick, but i felt that would be too much for one post! Move descriptions Accelerant Ignition Buff - Stoking the fires of his cape with raw energy, Bero covers himself with raging fire which allows him to move about 30% faster and makes touching his cape quite harmful, to the point of enemies dealing minor damage to oneself upon striking Bero with a melee attack. This buff lasts 3 posts and has a cooldown of 5 posts.
Petit Arena Utility/Attack - Erupting flames from his coat, Bero has the flames trail across the ground to circle him and an opponent within 5 meters of him. These flames form a high wall of fire, creating a small arena of Fire which is difficult to escape. This attack cannot automatically connect or damage Bero’s opponent upon activation. Touching the fires makes anyone except Bero take minor damage, forcing them self through the fires to escape the arena (or someone else forcing themselves into the arena) deals severe damage. The Arena lasts for 2 posts, and has a 6 post cooldown.
Flame Coat Combat Passive - Naturally capable of lighting his entire coat aflame, Bero makes sure to always fight with this fire backing him up. As long as this passive is in effect, Bero’s coat is covered in hot blue flames, and he can control the claws on his coat freely as if they were two extra sets of limbs. He can stretch out these limbs like rubber, using them to increase the reach of his basic attacks, and allow him to interact with objects or digimon from a distance. The elastic nature of his cloak allows him to attack up to 5 meters away, or about 5x the expected distance the limbs could reach. These limbs are strong enough for him to pull himself up by them or push himself off the ground using them. Due to being constantly aflame, they increase the damage of his basic attacks using these arms by 10%. While the hot flames of his coat are dangerous, they do not actually deal significant damage when merely touched. Cooldowns: Petit Arena: Used this turn! 6/6 posts remaining for cooldown. Accelerant Ignition: Buff! Is currently active, used this turn, 3/3 posts remaining active, CD not started yet.

Bellamy's grin did not fade at those words. As he looked at Bero, he could see his old self in those eyes. A stubborn independent digimon sure of his own power, that he needed no other to aid him... he remembered how he had been beaten again and again for as long as he acted alone. Indeed, he hadn't won a battle until Luke had entered his life back then. Hopefully this could be a lesson that the Impmon could pass to him. As the fight quickly changed from pleasantries to action, Bero quickly took the first move. Luke and Bellamy almost staggered back from the suddenness of his first move. An arena of fire, one that would restrict their evasion, at least on the ground... but wow, this guy was obviously good with the fire element. Something that didn't go well with fur, but, the twins had machinations of their own to deal with this. Then, Bero charged straight at Bellamy, making the Impmon glare with concentration. He had to time this right... While Bellamy might not be very physically strong, he somewhat made up for this with a catlike litheness. Before Bero would close in, Bellamy pounced at least ten feet in the air in a high arc, twisting his body around midair, a blue light glowing from his paws. "Freeze Lancer!" he snarled, and let forth a torrent of razor sharp ice crystals down at Bero. If the sharpness of the ice didn't get him, hopefully the ice would melt to water to quench those fires a little, and to help his brother's next move... Meanwhile, while Bero was concentrated at Bellamy, Luke took advantage of his drawn attention, then lowered himself on all fours, raised his tail feathers, made them spark, then launched a Sparkling Thunder directly at Bero, aiming to cover his brother. Still, the heat of the fire arena discomforted him. Yet, he would tolerate it for now. This was pain, yes, but nothing compared to the Control Spire of the Cipher Jungle, or the pain of the end of Leky in the Valley of Dragons. This was small-time compared to that. Whatever false bravado the brothers had before had vanished. These twins weren't blowhards, they were hardened veterans, and they would put up the best they could against this opponent. Although they could sense that this BlackGabumon was a little tougher than the average digimon... Bellamy evades Bero's charge by jumping over him, counter-attacking with Freeze Lancer from above.
Freeze Lancer - Summons a shower of ice crystals in front of him, then sends them flying at the target.
Bellamy does not make contact with the Petit Arena.
From all the fire, the Freeze Lancer ought to leave Bero a little damp unless he evades completely...
Luke aims a Sparkling Thunder at Bero from the side.
Sparkling Thunder - Leans forward on all fours, unfurls his tail feathers, and discharges a bolt of lightning from the built up electricity at the target.
Luke does not make contact with the Petit Arena.

Bellamy was quick to dodge out of the way, leaping high into the sky and launching his attack, a rain of ice striking down upon Bero. Bero first recovered from his movement into a standing still position. Initially, Bero may have tried to block it, but he felt he was in a match he wanted to decide quickly. Throw them through the fire and flames, rush them down while he’s being rushed down, see who loses first, as it were. Not realizing the foolishness of his decision, Bero decided to suddenly reach out towards Bellamy. Despite Bellamy leaping well in the air, Bero’s cloak arms could reach far further, two of them easily aiming for Bellamy’s legs! The various ice shards struck him head on, dealing some damage to him, and the resulting water doused his flames a little, but it evaporated in just a few seconds flat. Just how hot were these flames?! His speed boost seemed to be temporarily held back though, as Bero had to regain the lost heat. Bero however, toughed it out, although clearly taking damage. Fires rushed through the Cape’s stretching limbs, as a Burning Brand was prepared in tandem with the grapple maneuver aimed at Bellamy! He did his best to grab hold of Bellamy’s legs using his stretchy arms, using his natural arm to grab the base of his cape from below Bellamy. Bero would simply hope that they’d connect and grab Bellamy’s legs, because he was already pulling on the stretchy limbs to attempt to throw Bellamy into the wall of fire! That’s not to say that any part of it went smoothly, as even when he was grappling for Bellamy’s legs, he got shocked by the other’s attack! The electrocution hit him full on, and left him another bit worse for wear. Damage was something he was used to taking though, so he didn’t stop trying to throw Bellamy into the wall of Fire. However, if anything, it was a benefit that he only sent two claws, one for each of Bellamy’s legs! His other hand and claws could easily be used to try and focus some attention on the other twin. Had Bero still felt the fires of his cloak raging on, he would’ve moved closer to Luke before attacking, but not given that choice, he simply pointed a finger to Luke, hoping Luke would be within his range! “Little Blue Hunter.” A voice said with an eerie, professional calm as one of Bero’s remaining flame claws pointed to Luke and sent out a roiling jet of homing fire! Bero tried to accompany the gesture with an extra attack from his remaining 4th arm, but as it stretched up, it’s frayed fur failed to ignite properly, and a bit of a static shock remained inside of it. Bero cursed internally, learning well how important defense was for him. Bero is struck by Bellamy’s Freeze lancer! Bero’s Accelerant Ignition is temporarily doused by the cold created by Freeze lancer, rendering its effect useless for this post! (It’d duration still ticks down by one post.) Bero uses two of his Flame coat claws to Grapple Bellamy’s feet, using Burning Brand via one of his claws! Bero grabs hold of his grappling claws and swings them towards the edge of Petit Arena, hoping they’d grab Bellamy and throw him into the wall of fire! Bero takes the full damage of Sparkling Thunder, putting him on low health already! Toughing it out surprisingly well, Bero continues his toss maneuver, and uses his other hand and claw to fire a Little Blue Hunter at Luke! Move descriptions Burning Brand (RAM upgrade) Debuff - Bero extends one of his claws, and attempts to touch his enemy. Upon touching the enemy, Blue flames quickly rush over them, while not damaging them directly. Marks of the attack appear over their body as a brand, lasting up to 3 posts and making them more vulnerable to any fire damage Bero deals. This has a 3 post cooldown.
Little blue Hunter(RAM upgrade) Attack - Initiating this attack, Bero charges a powerful blue flame in the tip of one of his cloak claws. Bero jabs his arm forward to point towards the enemy, and his cloak claw follows the gesture. A trail of blue fire erupts from the tip of his claw and heads towards his target. This blue fire can turn slightly to home in on it’s target as it travels up to 30 meters. This attack requires 2 dodges to avoid. If Bero uses this attack against an enemy within 2 meters, the fire trail stops after passing by them and returns to hit them again in the back. The attack does minor damage with each hit and has 1 post cooldown.
Accelerant Ignition Buff - Stoking the fires of his cape with raw energy, Bero covers himself with raging fire which allows him to move about 30% faster and makes touching his cape quite harmful, to the point of enemies dealing minor damage to oneself upon striking Bero with a melee attack.
Cooldowns: Petit Arena: It’s duration is almost over, it ends directly at the start of my next post! 1/6 posts cooldown passed. Accelerant Ignition: Buff! Is currently active, although suppressed, 2/3 posts remaining active, CD not started yet. Burning Brand: Used this turn! 0/3 posts cooldown passed. Little Blue Hunter: Used this turn! 0/1 posts cooldown passed.

Bellamy knew he was in trouble the moment that Bero reached out with his crazy burning cloak and grasped his leg. His green eyes widened with shock as he realized just how strong this digimon was. The sentient flame, the way his and his brother's attacks had little effect on him. The Burning Brand afflicted him indeed, and then the BlackGabumon seemed to aim to hurl him into the whirl of fire that surrounded the arena. Bellamy could tell that those flames would hurt him very badly if they connected.
Thankfully, Bellamy was the partner of a human, and that human could sense he was in danger, then drew a card from his pocket and scanned it in the nick of time.
"Digimodify! Armadillomon's Hard Brick activate!"
"NOT THAT CARD" Bellamy snarled, but relented to its effect anyway. The Impmon curled into a tight purple ball, defended further by a golden light. As he passed through the flames, yes, he could feel them alright, but for the sheer damage he could have taken, he only felt some heated discomfort. He passed through the flames and unravelled himself, panting with anger and indignation from that, his purple and white fur smoldering a little. He could feel the burn, but not critically so.
Luke meanwhile, still in the arena, seemed to be still in the firing line. The BlackGabumon then launched a homing fireball at him. The Elecmon by now knew how to deal with these homing attacks. Hold still until it makes the final lunge, then avoid. Most unfortunately, this wasn't a simple homing warhead that would home in on him, this was fire, and as he made the final lunge, could feel the sheer heat against his fur, making him wince from pain.
Still though, he would not let such an attack go without retaliation. In a similar manner to his brother, Luke raised a finger, conjured a ball of sparkling lightning, then hurled it at Bero's torso.
Colin scans the Armadillomon card through his D-Arc, targeting Bellamy.
NS-01 Card Name: Armadillomon Type: Digimon Rank: Bronze Duration: 1 Post Diamond Shell: The target Digimon immediately rolls into a ball, rushing at the enemy. Hard Brick: The target Digimon rolls into a ball, offering protection from weaker attacks. Damage from Rookie attacks is heavily reduced, and damage from Champion attacks is reduced to a minor extent as well.
Colin has 6 card turns remaining.
Bellamy uses Hard Brick, heavily reducing the damage from Bero's attacks.
Bellamy is afflicted with Burning Brand [1/3 turns]
Luke does his best to evade Little Blue Hunter this turn, but the heat gives him minor damage, singeing his fur.
Luke attacks Bero with Ball Lightning.
Ball Lightning - Raises one of his claws, charging a small ball of electrical energy on top of it. He then hurls it at the target as a projectile attack.

While being tossed, Bero heard Bellamy speak, mentioning a card. Bero cursed to himself, as he was once again foiled and combat had been made difficult due to these fragged cards! Bero felt a fury well up in him as the mention of a card, and how it’d likely protect the Impmon from the damage, right after Bero had gone through much effort and damage himself to try and cause it. On top of that, it wasn’t looking like his situation with the Elecmon was going to get much easier either. Luke had almost easily minimized the damage he would take from Little Blue Hunter with a very well timed dodge, and as Luke charged his own attack The Petit Arena faded and Bero’s Accelerant Ignition had hitten full heat again. He had gained his speed back but lost his terrain advantage, the full battle finally visible. Bero was clearly on the losing end, as some small parts of his cape failed to light fully aflame properly, and the static was still running through him. On top of the damage he sustained, another attack was on his way. Were he desperate, he’d block this to try to keep himself healthy. But this was just one attack, and he was fighting two digimon. Perhaps with his speed… Bero Attempt to use his extra speed to dodge the second electrical attack, his feet planting into the sand and dashing him out of the way, his claws reaching to the ground and extending themselves to help push him out of the way! One claw snapped back before the ball lightning hit, but it hit the other claw. That claw also snapped back to Bero’s position, the fires on it fading for a bit as the fur frayed. Bero grunted as the shock traveled through his claw and caused some light damage on his body. He was low on stamina, his Petit Arena was down, and the damage he would deal was minimized, and he hadn’t blocked when he should have. The card put him at a disadvantage he wasn’t going to recover from easily. As one claw hung lazily due to it’s shock, slowly reigniting and Bero regaining it’s control, Bero stared at the tamer and impmon with great offense. “Can no one just rely on their own power anymore!?”
“I suppose if you also fight with those spaghetti’d mess you call cards, i can show you my own tool use!” in strategic anger, Bero stretched out his capes’ claws. He figured they would make a good shovel! He dashed towards Bellamy using all the speed he’d have, digging his claws into the sand, throwing out as much of the sand as he could infront of it! As his claw was still on a mighty fire, the sand would be pretty hot, too. Lacking in better techniques to use right now, he’d just sidestep, using the sand as cover, and try to attack each of the two twins with one of his claws, stretching them in hopes of hitting them from an unexpected angle. Bero’s Petit Arena ends! Bero’s Accelerant Ignition fires back up, granting it’s effects once more! Bero uses his increased speed and his Flame coat claws to dodge most of Ball lighting, it still hits one of his claws, dealing minor damage to Bero! Bero Angrily comments at Colin & Bellamy for using a card, before using his speed to dash forward and using his Flame coat claws to throw up a cloud of hot beach sand! Bero sidesteps using the cloud as cover and tries to attack both of the twins with a basic attack from a less expected angle!

As the combatants of this spar began to regather the sense of their surroundings, Colin, Bellamy and Luke took a moment to take a look at the status of the battle. It had seemed that Bero's strategy had been to create a situation on the battlefield in which he would have delivered critical damage to Bellamy, but, that strategy had been thwarted, and as a result, it seemed his main strategy was thwarted, and it seemed he had taken great offense to it. "That's what humans are for" Bellamy stated, getting over his embarrassing little maneuver for the moment to justify how this thing was meant to work. "They look out for us digimon, they back us up with their power."But it seemed the BlackGabumon wasn't done yet. He seemed to be aiming some kind of sand attack at them. Realizing this, the twins immediately turned their heads. They understood the threat entirely, no way would they risk having their eyes burned with this hot sand, but alas, they could not dodge it entirely. They flinched with pain as the hot sand landed on the fur on their backs and heads, but they did their best to quickly shake it out before their fur caught fire. Luke was the first to turn around, his blue eyes making a stern look at Bero. Once again, Colin drew a card, and slashed it through his digivice. "Digimodify! Cross Barbee activate!" he shouted. At once, the ground to Luke's right glowed blue with sparks, and the handle of some polearm rose out of it. As it extended a foot taller than Luke's head, he gripped the weapon and drew it from the sand, aiming the golden trident at his opponent. "Humans are not a force for bad in this world." the Elecmon said, firmly. "They're not weak, they're not evil, they mean to make life better for us all" he slashed the air with the weapon, then readied it for a further strike. "But if you still mean to challenge us, bring it!"Blue electric sparks shot across Luke as he advanced, the sparks extending to the trident weapon. He aimed an electrified slash at the BlackGabumon, aiming to take advantage of the extended reach of his weapon. Furthermore, he was backed up by his brother. "Semper Fire" Bellamy whispered, his left hand glowing with violet-red fire, then clicked his claws, and sent a rush of seemingly sentient flame roaring toward Bero. Colin uses the Cross Barbee card on Luke.
VB-20 Card Name: Cross Barbee Type: Modify Rank: Bronze Duration: 3 Posts
Effect: The target Digimon summons Sistermon's trident. While weak offensively, its strong Gold Digizoid material and pronged tip make it very useful for parrying.
Colin has 5 cards left to use.
Luke takes damage from the sand brought up by Flame Coat, but turns his back to minimize critical damage.
Luke is equipped with the Cross Barbee [1/3 turns]
Luke uses Livewire Tackle on Bero.
Livewire Tackle - Pumps his fur full of built up static electricity, then charges at the foe or alternatively punches them, discharging the electricity into them (Attack modified this turn, he directs the charge through the Cross Barbee)Bellamy takes damage brought up by Flame Coat, but turns his back to minimize critical damage. Damage is increased thanks to the Burning Brand.
Bellamy uses Semper Fire on Bero.
Semper Fire - Bellamy's "serious" attack. Stands sidelong to his opponent, raises his paw, then clicks his fingers, shooting a powerful fireball at the foe. [Cooldown: 1 Post]
Semper Fire cooldown: 0/1.

Before speaking any further, Bero had already used his sand attack, which made speaking more a foolish point. As they blocked the worst of the sand attacks damage, Bero didn’t get much better opportunity to do anything, his accelerant ignition subsiding and his body now covered only in normal blue fire instead of the crackling pyre he was before. Bellamy gave Bero a stern look, staring through the small remnants of a cloud of sand as Colin swept another card to help his Elecmon. Bero was seething, but he didn’t let rage cloud his combat analysis. Proving his point would rely on him overcoming the power of these cards without them. “But you need to protect them! Divide your strength and your freedom suffers!” Bero countered to Bellamy’s own speech. Besides, he saw solo digimon use cards anyway, so he didn’t see the point of attaching a human to the process. The Elecmon spoke of good versus evil in his turn, preparing to attack bero with his new weapon. Realizing they’d both attack now, Bero knew that now was the time to defend. He also was glad that the Elecmon was getting closer, as it’d make this all easier on him. “Who cares about Good or Evil! Those are just words that those with the power to limit freedom use to judge the weak with! The strength your human adds to you is fun and all, but relying on each other means you’re not free to do as you please!” He countered as well, as he stared right at the Elecmon as said Elecmon dashed in to attack. Right before Elecmon’s spear and it’s first sparks of electricity would contact, Bero unleashed his block. “Azure Zenith!” The tip of Bero’s horn flashed blue and the entire BlackGabumon was surrounded in a spinning sphere of blue fire. The roiling flamed blocked and cancelled the electrical charge and slowed the spear that rushed to Bero. Outside of that, it’s blue fires rushed down the spear itself and heated the environment around him, countering in respond to the melee attack. It remained just long enough that Bellamy’s Semper Fire challenged it as well. Semper fire blew away the blue fires that Bero had surrounded himself with, but it’s own fire had vanished just as Bero’s Azure Zenith had. As the fires around Bero vanished, he was revealed to have not been hit by either attack. Bero had already pointed towards Luke with a finger the moment the fires had vanished. his arm was exactly parallel to the spear in the length, sitting just an inch away from it, pointing at Luke. Before he fired his attack, he had two of his flaming claws suddenly stretch out to try and restrain two of Luke’s limbs, one aimed for the hand Luke held the spear with, the other aimed to try and restrain the opposite foot. “Little Blue Hunter.” He’d try to pull Luke closer at the same time as a third claw fired another blue fire towards Luke, Bero hoping to hit him twice! Bero’s Accelerant Ignition ends! Bero blocks Livewire Tackle and Semper Fire using Azure Zenith! Azure Zenith's counter damage tries to affect Luke! (your decision if his spear's reach prevents the counter damage from happening, i'm good either way.) Bero attempt to grab Luke’s spear-holding limb and his opposing leg using Flame Cloak basic ‘attack’. Bero attempts to pull Luke closer while he fires a Little Blue Hunter! Move descriptions Azure Zenith Defense - A small gout of flame rises from Bero’s horn before quickly creating a thin wall of flame all around Bero to protect him with, this defends him against rookie level attacks and reduces damage of champion level attacks by 50%, and also damages opponents who use melee attacks for minor damage. This ability blocks for a duration of 1 turn. This ability has a cooldown of 4 posts.
Cooldowns: Petit Arena: 3/6 posts cooldown passed. Accelerant Ignition: Buff ended this turn. 0/5 posts cooldown passed. Burning Brand: Still in effect! Cooldown not started. Azure Zenith: used this turn! 0/4 posts cooldown passed. Little Blue Hunter: Regained use this turn! Used this turn! 0/1 posts cooldown passed.
