Strength to Protect What Matters [Alice/Justice]

Dorothy's cruelty in combat shows through as she laughs to herself in a quiet manner, trying her best to focus after imagining someone sneezing so hard they hit their desk. What a thing to hear about. Waving her hand dismissively, she seems almost smug about the fact she's temporarily disabled Gummy, her grin still unnaturally wide, but less so. "He asked for it, so I gave him it, it ain't a mystery." Even if this still is more casual than the average fight, she keeps watch of the pair of Rookie Digimon, knowing that her actions will cause this fight to escalate. Which is a good thing, in her eyes. It's been a while since she's had any sort of fun without that Human partner of hers ruining any chance of getting stronger than this. Any way to not show how weak she really is without that Human by her side, even if it is a little excessive. Anything to not end up being that pathetic ball of envy and weakness again... Despite the smug satisfaction, a brief stillness comes over her as she hears the cries of the Gumdramon, perhaps even feeling slightly guilty, but she continues to laugh regardless... Only to get slugged by a rapid series of kicks, each one just as hard as the last. Not being the strongest physically, this kind of attack is harmful enough to knock her off the broom a second time, barely managing to land on her feet with pain visible through her posture, a hunched over, angry stance devoid of her usual energy. If she's not careful, she could very well end up losing, reckless behavior being the least of her issues so far. "It'll take more than that! C'mon, ya pair of dorky lizards!" Readying another attack, a green energy pools at her fingertips and she attempts to punt Vee away with another burst of air in retaliation, her unpleasant grin slowly turning into a displeased frown. "Come on! I'll show you! I'll show all of ya!"Meanwhile, the green haired Tamer seems slightly puzzled at the fact that Justice is a street artist, something she has no experience with, a slight tilt to her head. "Ah. So your hobby is creating all that unusual art that I end up seeing in... Obscure places? Huh, maybe I've seen some of your handiwork without knowing. I guess one of my hobbies isn't exactly... Something people like to see, too." She stops herself from elaborating further, not wanting to get into her... Less savory tendencies, even if she hasn't really set anything on fire in a long, long time. Not wanting to jinx her potentially healthy outlet in the form of the Digital World, she just chuckles to herself awkwardly... Until Justice asks what's happened to Gummy. Shivering a bit herself, Alice tries to explain what her partner's done. "...Dorothy's skillset is more focused on disabling her enemies, then beating them mercilessly. It's... Not exactly fair or heroic, but it's effective. Every Digimon fights differently, so as unpleasant as this is... It's a learning experience. If you want me to tell her to dial it down, though, I can do that."
Dorothy uses Baluluna Gale to force Vee away from her.

After delivering the barrages of kicks, Vee did a backflip to gain some distance just in case Dorothy was planning a counterattack. Although he was successful of knocking her off her broom a second time, it still wasn't enough to bring her down for the count. Typical. Hearing her brush off the attack like it was nothing, he looked back between her and Gummy, who still on the ground covering his eyes.
He should have been the one to take that attack. Just hearing him scream in anguish like that reminded him of the time when they fought Commandramon, where he unleashed a barrage of bullets when he accidentally crashed into a tree. It made him go absolutely livid seeing that happen to him. Since then, he vowed to never let something like that happen again; to show that he was capable of being a strong big brother to Gummy, and a good partner to Justice.
Planting his feet on the ground, he started tosprint at the vulnerable Dorothy, not wanting his advantage to slip Unfortunately, the Witchmon had plan another spell just for the blue dragon and sent out a gust of wind in return. Like before, the wind was so strong it blew him away from the ground and send him into a nearby tree. Bouncing off from branch after branch, with leaves ruffling by the inertia of the force, he came to a sudden stop when his foot got caught in between one of them. He attempted a few times to release his foot to no avail.
"I'm so pathetic." Vee murmured to himself, his hands hanging free upside down, a sign that he was close to giving up. "She's too much. If only we were stronger, then maybe..."
Gummy on the other hand, wasn't about to give up despite being temporarily blinded. If one of your senses were out, then you'll to rely on your other senses to compensate. Slowly getting up, he started to sniff for any traces of her. Sure enough, he managed to pin point her exact location. Usually he would get all balls blazing and usher an attack as quick as possible, but not this time. This time he has to play it smart if he has any change of winning.
"Gah! Where the hell is she?" he said, turning his head at all directions. But in truth, he was playing coy to get her attention, trying to trick her so she can drop her guard. If she does, and if some miracle his vision returns, he'll know then if he hit the jackpot or not. Meanwhile, Justice looked at Alice with a worried expression after she explained her Digimon's fighting style. On one hand, every fiber in his mind wanted to agree with her so Dorothy can dial it down. But at the same time, it wouldn't be fair to his Digimon if Dorothy fights with a handicap. So...
"Hold up! Time out for a minute!" he yelled, taking a few steps towards the arena, while being careful to avoid the purple mist that was launched earlier.
Vee is hit by Baluluna Gale, sending him crashing to a nearby tree.
Gummy is blinded for one more turn.

"...Is that really all ya two got?" The witch in red hesitates a second time, not out of toying with her foes, but genuinely asking them that, almost shocked that she's even accomplished this with only minor trouble. "The last thing I wanna do is blow one of ya up, so I'm givin' ya the count of ten before I start goin' at it again!" Being in control of the situation is both exhilarating and worrying, mere moments away from making a mistake either dangerous to herself, or to others... "One, two, three..." As she watches the two struggle, she stops the countdown, and just waits... Whether it comes off as merciful or simply reveling in their suffering isn't clear, her unnaturally wide, jagged grin not moving. "you know what, screw the numbers, the moment you let your guards down..." The humming of another attack being charged up is clearly audible as she focuses energy into her hand, watching and waiting in the silence until Gummy inevitably breaks it. "I'd like t'see you try. Life ain't easy. If ya want me to stop, then you'll have to make me."The energy pooling in her hand is a deep cerulean blue, and once it is done, it would undoubtedly end the fight unless something were to happen. With Dorothy cackling gleefully, she knows she's in control. "Huh!?" Dorothy's rush of powerful emotions is cut short by Justice, the presence of a human close to her causing the witch to tense up and hesitate, urging him away with a wave of her hands, the poison clouds fading away soon enough. "Whatcha want? Soften things up a lil', or just give 'em a lil' moment to prepare for what I've got next?" With Justice too close to the fight in her eyes, she steps over to him and shoves him back, not particularly forcefully, but with some degree of anger. "And what are ya, stupid!? Can't ya see I'm in the middle of something?" Given how this is supposed to be a sparring match, it probably is for his own safety, even if it comes across as otherwise. All the while, Alice is just standing there, stone faced, almost glaring at her partner. "Enough, Dorothy, you always get worked up like this.""Well, maybe ya shouldn't constantly hold me back!" Dorothy shrieks, briefly aiming the magic circle in her hands at her own Human partner before lowering it, her breathing heavy, rage in her eyes before kicking the dirt. She raises her hand again, this time at Gummy, her focus still clouded by unrestrained fury. "All anyone does is hold me back 'n make me feel weak." The words come out of her mouth without her thinking, the witch's emotions getting the better of her, and she continues to charge her attack up, not out of wanting to continue the fight, but of something much more irrational.
Dorothy begins to charge Aquary Pressure against her Tamer's wishes.
AQUARY PRESSURE
A blue magic circle gradually forms at the caster's hands as they focus, and when sufficiently charged, it glows brightly before focusing into a pinprick-sized beam of ultra-high pressure water capable of cutting through objects, piercing holes in walls, and shredding flesh apart. It's difficult to defend against such an attack, given the sheer amount of physical force exerted by the water jet.
Ignores most defensive buffs, shields, armor, hiding in cover, and so on. Takes one post to charge up.
Poison Storm's blind effect ends. (2/2)

Walking up to Dorothy, hands in his pockets, he decided that since the sparring match was slowly turning into a all-out battle, it was best to suspend the match before it got out of hand. " You're being a bit too harsh on them." Justice said. "They're still Rookies after all--and you're a Champion. So can I just have a moment with them real fast?"Judging by Vee's low confidence and Gummy's temporary blindness, it was for the best.
In response to that, Dorothy promptly shoved it back in anger. Justice kept his expression impassive; though what she did was rude, he didn't let it get under his skin., not yet anyway. Truthfully, a lot of things have been bugging him as of late, and it was taking a lot of will power for him not to straight up fight with a Digimon. "No I'm not being stupid right now. I'm asking you to give them a little time to recover. Because looking at what's happening right now, you're coming off as more of a bully, and you don't even realize it." If worst comes to show, he wasn't going to let his Digimon get seriously hurt, especially Gummy. Not again.
While Alice attempted to call her off, Justice only stood between them and only watched as the witch Digimon threw a temper tantrum in response. It seems that her and Alice have a long history together; a history that was not at all sparkles and rainbows that he'd assumed. He jumped up in shock as Dorothy aimed her attack at her own partner, only to then aim in at Gummy.
Meanwhile, Vee, who was till up in the tree, hopeless, only watching at all three of them bickered while Gummy was slowly trying to find the witch Digimon with his nose. Seeing her aim at his brother while he was still blind made him jumped to life. He wasn't about to let history repeat itself again and watch his little brother get hurt again. He grabbed one of the branches his foot was stuck on and karate chopped it with ease. With his foot now free, he land on the ground and sprinted to where the others were, extending his arms out in front of his brother and acted like a shield.
Gummy on the other hand, finally made out Dorothy's scent. Even better, his eyes suddenly stopped stinging, a sign that his vision was coming back. Slowly opening his eyes, he decided that it was time to initial counterattack, to show her who's boss. But instead of seeing her, he saw Vee right in front of him.
"Bro? What are you doing?!" Gummy yelled. "I had the situation under control!"
Vee didn't waste a second responding, looking at his brother. "And by situation, you mean waddling around like a Penguinmon? Some brilliant plan that turned out to be"
"Hmph! And you called being blown away apart of your plan? No thanks."
Seeing Vee's compassion for Gummy put a smile on Justice's face for a brief moment, only then to turn to Dorothy as she was charging her attack. Taking a page from his blue friend, he took a step in front of him, ushering his hand in front of him. "Hey, just cool off for a minute, okay." he asked in a sympathetic tone. "Nobody's trying to make you feel weak. It's all about going too far. You're angry; I get that, but there's no need to physically lash out against your partner and my Digimon. Yeah her tone may be a bit harsh to you, but deep down, I know she really cares about you, just like how I care for these two trouble makers here.
He took a few steps to her, ushering his hands in a somewhat defensive, yet caring manner. "So please...discharge your attack." He couldn't help but feel bad for Dorothy. All that pent up rage wasn't good for her.
Gummy is now able to see.
Hoping Kick has finished cooling down.

For a moment, Dorothy just sits there in silence, listening to Justice's words, that feeling of guilt, that admission of being too harsh entering her mind once again. Soon, all that's left is the sound of the leaves rustling in a gentle breeze and the sounds made by Vee's struggling, the witch Digimon left alone with her thoughts for just long enough for her to respond to Justice, the look in her eyes still angry, but more at herself than directed at others. "You're right. I am being... Too hard on 'em." She grits her teeth slightly, her eyes darting around as if she's been caught doing something she shouldn't. "...It just comes so naturally after bein' at the bottom for so long."
The fact that Alice hasn't responded to Dorothy's threat speaks volumes, the emerald haired woman finally speaking up again afterwards with little to no change in tone. "That's why I've been trying to teach you human values. Part of it, anyways. And it's all right, you're still learning..." With calm steps over to both Dorothy and Justice, she glances to the other Tamer with a faint smile. It's good to see such confidence, she thinks to herself. "We all are, to some extent. Humans and Digimon, despite their similarities, are quite different..." The green haired woman stops herself from prattling on longer, and lets her partner decide what to do, not willing to get much more involved. "Yeah, yeah..." The Witchmon waits, her attack already fully charged, but she holds it for now, giving the pair of Digimon a chance to recover, not out of obligation, but a more respectful sort of restraint. Honor, perhaps? Dorothy blinks and quietly chuckles away the silly thought. "Get up 'n get ready, and do your worst!" Upon seeing the Gumdramon and Veemon get up and ready themselves once again, she seems... A lot less angry, and more excited. "I've got it cooked up for ya in advance, here ya go!" The summoned attack is a jet of water, capable of performing rather powerful cuts, a more directly dangerous attack than what she's done previously, but easily avoided provided one doesn't try to block or hide from it. As if to demonstrate, a falling leaf is torn to shreds as it enters the stream. During this, Alice steps back to the sidelines again, gesturing to Justice to follow so she can speak out of Dorothy's earshot. "You're right that we aren't exactly the most stable in terms of bond... But I think she realizes that without me, things would probably be far worse. I can only hope she understands these things as she learns them..." She runs a hand through her hair, seeming a bit anxious. "Despite the fact that Digimon can talk, act and behave like us, I am not sure if they truly do think in the same way as us... And yes. We do care for each other. In fact, I think I'm the first person she's ever... Really opened up to."
Dorothy fires off Aquary Pressure (detailed in previous post).

Justice's appeal at first was met with a short silence; a silence so short that it seems like it lasted forever to him. He didn't dare took her eyes off her. After Dorothy admitted that she was wrong, Justice breathe a sigh of relief that she was starting to listen to reason. "It's alright. Admitting our faults is a sign of maturity and wisdom. Trust me, I know what it feels like to be at the bottom." He turned towards Vee, giving him a nod, which in turn made Vee drop his guard stance in front of Gummy.
As Alice imparted her words of wisdom on four of them, Vee looked down at the grass, putting his scarf over his mouth. It was clear that he was taking the words to heart, that in turn caught Gummy's attention to as he gave him a worried expression. After they're little argument from earlier, he started to suspect that something was up with him. Usually he would be his happy-go lucky self and drop feet first whenever he saw an opportunity to spar. But now it's like things are different. He's been reluctant, sticking close to him, and always jumping into danger that seemed not worth it.
Before he could inquire an answer, the Witchmon called for the two the get ready as round two now begun. The two of them snapped into reality and prepared themselves against Dorothy. She seems rather happy now compared to the brutality she was displaying earlier. "Aw, how so sweet of you." he said teasingly. "Then allow me to bring the heat!" Seeing the pressure stream of water attack from a mile away, two quickly jumped in the air to avoid.
Instead of going for a combo attack with Vee,, Gummy instead opted to rush in alone since his brother's fighting spirt was dimmed, and it was apparent since he wasn't even moving after dodging. Enlarging his hammer tail, he dived towards Dorothy after doing a front flip, wanting to personally return the favor for blinding him earlier, though compared to his last attacks, this one could be avoided since the weight of his tail slows him down.
Following Alice back to the sidelines, Justice listened to her as she tells him about her and Dorothy's relationship. "I suspected as much." he openly stated. "And I kind of disagree om that notion, about Digimon not thinking the same as we do. He took a breath before continuing. I've been doing this Tamer shtick for about a month now. Although I may not have the same experience as you, or other Tamer's I've encountered, but my experience with Digimon taught me that they are capable of thinking the same way we do. They can think rationally, know right and wrong, all that stuff. It just takes time for some. The essence of the independent mind lies not in what it thinks, but in how it thinks."
Looking at Vee, who was only watching his brother take the first move, he noticed a look of distraught and uncertainty on his face, Naturally this worried him since the blue dragon was never like this. He thought for a minute, Maybe it has something to do against that Commandramon a week back and he was feeling guilty of it. He turned to Alice. "Yeah, opening up...." Whatever the exchange of Gummy and Dorothy's exchange, Justice yelled for both his Digimon to come here, especially Vee. He hate to postpone the fight again for a minute, but whatever was on Vee's mind needs to be spilled out.
Vee and Gummy dodged Aquary Pressure.

With things seemingly sorted out, things begin to play out quickly once the fight begins again, the Witchmon's expression of shock briefly visible as her attack goes wide, unaware of Vee's absence during the attack as she narrowly avoids the massive hammer, having to hastily dive out of the way into the dirt, leaves and grass with no ability to retaliate. Without her broom, she's not nearly as mobile. "Ugh... Wait a sec, where's your buddy? Ain't he ready, too?" "...Something's not right." Alice speaks up again, the emerald haired Tamer's expression no longer as stoic as it once before. "Vee doesn't seem... Particular well right now. Dorothy, hold your attacks." She soon turns her attention to Justice's hand in the conversation fully, her opinion different, but perhaps understandably so. "It's hard to know for sure. After all, Digimon are... You know what, never mind." She falls silent, a slight frown forming on her face. "...I feel like I'm being too harsh about this either way."As Justice calls for his Digimon to come over, Alice seems to be lost in thought as she approaches Dorothy, her mind full of doubt. Is she really treating Dorothy well? "...We'll talk about what's on your mind later. For now, let's focus on what's here in front of us."
"...Agreed." The witch nods after picking herself up off the ground for what seems like the hundredth time, pulling a twig out of her hair and throwing it off into the distance with a quiet snarl. Holding out one of her hands, she calls her floating broom back over and sits down, taking the chance to relax a little bit. "Just call out whenever ya guys are ready for round two!"

“Ah, come on” Gummy groaned, his tone whiny in annoyance. He shrunk the hammer on his tail to regular size and force his legs to strut to his Tamer; he did not appreciate the fight being interrupted for the second time in a row. “If you found a weakness in her attack patterns, I already figured it out. It takes her a bit of time to charge up her spells, leaving her wide open to attacks, right?” Vee on the other hand walked slowly as his brother past him, not saying a word.
“Na it’s not about that, little dude,” Justice said, “although it’s good that you’re paying attention. Usually you would just go swinging crazy.” He turned his attention to the blue dragon, lowering himself to him, who looked away as soon as he made eye contact with him. It was clear that something was up and he wanted to hide it.
“Vee what’s wrong?” His voice was calm and sincere, full of worry. Vee glanced back at him and quickly gave a wry smile.
“I-I’m fine, I’m fine!” Vee spoke, darting his eyes to Gummy, then Alice who were all looking at him in concern. “I just had too much spicy food last night. You left those spicy chicken wings out for us and I tried them out and just...kind of at them all at once. Ugh...that’s why I’m acting not at the top of my game today, so no worries.” He let out a nervous laugh to quickly mitigate the situation as possible, this however made Justice and Gummy worry even more. His laughter stopped when Gummy lay a paw on his shoulder.
“No bro, you haven’t been in the top of the game like, at all lately,” Gummy explained. “Every time when you see me in the slightest bit of danger, you always come rushing to my aid as if I’m gonna die or something. I mean yeah that’s what an older brother should do, but it’s like you’ve been overprotective of me as of late, thinking I can’t fend for myself.”
Vee opened and closed his mouth several times before he closed it fully, unable to find a response that would be suitable. He darted his eyes away from him in a nervous manner, fidgeting both his fingers like a shy child.
"Well come on, out with it!" Gummy said in an aggressive tone, his patience running thin.
Sensing his hesitation, Justice chimed in. “Is it about what happened to Gummy when you two fought that Xros General’s Commandramon?”
The question caught Vee by surprise. He looked up to Justice with his frowned eyes, sweat visible on his face, before looking away, covering his mouth with his scarf. This right there confirmed to Justice that was the problem.
“Yeah...I feel the same way about what happened to him—seeing him badly injured like that, knowing that I could have stop the fight when things were getting out of control, was honestly the second most scariest moment of my life.” He turned towards Gummy. “I was too blind, and almost payed for it dearly...But I bet for you it was even harder, since you're the oldest and it’s a big brother’s responsibility to protect the little brother, and I bet you’re thinking you're a shit-ass brother for letting that happen, right?
Vee nodded, lowering his scarf, then took a long, deep breath before starting. There was no way out of this now. Any more silence would make it even worse. “It’s just...before then I thought if two of us stuck together when fighting, there would be no way we’d lose. But... seeing all those bullet wounds all over him made me such an idiot for believing in that. I mean sure, right now is just a sparring match, but so was the one with Commandramon, and look where that ended up. Now it’s just every time we fight, wether as a team or alone...I’m terrified. Always, looming on my mind is the thought of one of us might not make it, or you getting injured...it holds me back, doesn’t allow me to fight as well as I wish I could… and consequently... I feel weak.” He looked up to Justice, then to Gummy, tears visible in his eyes. “I don’t know what I would if one of you guys gets killed because of that.”

"...He shouldn't be this afraid, but it's understandable, given the situation. A failure like that... Isn't exactly something one gets over easily." Speaking after she hears Vee's confession, Alice shakes her head slightly, deep in thought but still focused on the current situation. She would say that he's traumatized, but she doesn't want to make things worse, leaving him be save for that first comment. For now, she decides to direct her thoughts to Justice. "I've only ever seen one Xros General... They're very uncommon, the kind of thing you hear of in rumors... They're strange, to be sure." The military theme strikes her as vaguely familiar, but she decides it's not worth pursuing for now.
Dorothy, on the other hand, seems more hesitant at this revelation. "Didn't think he was that bad..." She scrambles to get her broom back, sitting down on it like a bench as she floats back over to Alice's side, staring down at the grass and wondering to herself, a sigh escaping her lips. She soon drifts over to Vee, Justice and Gummy, and speaks, being a bit quiet at first. "Umm, hey, listen. Just 'cause you're struggling now doesn't mean that it ain't worth it. Trust me, I've had a lotta trouble with... Just about everything until Alice came 'round to help me." She seems to not want Alice to hear this, leaving her Tamer to think while she continues.
"Hiding from your problems ain't gonna, like, make 'em get any better. You have to confront them, one way or another, face it head on... That's the thing 'bout fear." The witch looks back nervously to Alice for a moment before continuing. "It only gets worse the more you leave it alone. The more ya let it control you 'n ruin everything else... S-Somethin' like that." She soon heads back to Alice, who seems to have finally stopped being lost in thought.
"You seem to have almost as much on your mind as I do these days. It's a little strange." Running a hand through her hair, Alice looks to her Digimon with a slight frown. "And you say I'm the one who worries a lot."
"Hey, you're not helping." Dorothy's response is joined with a bit of a grumble, the witch returning to her position before the fight was interrupted a second time. "What with you avoidin' the Human World 'n bein a big dork about that whole thing that happened on New Years..."
Alice's expression suddenly turns cold. "And you know why. They'll find us if we're not careful, and the last thing I want is to... Potentially lose you." Turning away from her own partner, she seems to be lost in thought again. "I said we'd talk about it later, all right?"
The two remain in an awkward silence after this until Dorothy decides to speak out, directing her voice at Vee and Gummy and deeming talking with her Human partner a lost cause for now. "Hey, you still up for stuff, or what?"

It was the first time in his short life so far that Vee carried so much pain and resentment that it was too much to take in after letting it all out. He collapsed on to his knees, his small body shaking as he sobbed. Justice quickly got on his knees and brought the blue dragon to him, comforting him, while Gummy rushed to his brother as well to console him.
"Shhhh. Hey, hey, it's ok, man. It's ok." Justice said, speaking in a soft and comforting tone. His face was contorted; sadness starting to grip him a bit. He didn’t think it was this bad.
While he understood how he felt, Justice found it kind of hard to relate to it. Like Gummy, he’s the youngest out of three siblings, so when growing up, both his older brother and sister were extremely protective of him, much to his dismay. They treated him like he couldn’t do anything so much that eventually, he became distant towards them. He still hasn’t talk to them since coming to Japan.
“I just want to stop feeling helpless…” Vee said slowly, sobbing on his Tamer’s jacket. “I want to protect the both of you. If I can’t, I’m just worthless.”
The Witchmon came up to the three of them and explained to Vee that hiding your problem won’t resolve them, only just eating you up further and further on the inside until it controls every action you take. For a few moments, Justice considered his words. She wasn't wrong. In the past, Justice had felt worthless too, like no matter what he did, he could never meet up to the high expectations of his mother, or the other experience Tamers he'd met so far since discovering Digimon. That even his best efforts would never be enough. He had felt helpless and useless, like there was nothing he could do that was special, or made him a suitable partner.
"So, you're just gonna give up and keep feeling that way," Justice questioned honestly. "Vee, you're young, and understand what you're feeling, but you shouldn't let a failure like this defeat you. Look at me, life has knocked me down by my knees more times than I can count. But I never let each mistake and failure I've made be the end of me; I didn't let them define me."
"How?"
"By picking myself back up," Justice explained. "It's not about how hard you get knocked down, its how much you can get hit and keep moving forward." He paused, breathing in deeply. "Really it's just learning and from it. And I want you to know that you're not alone in this, all three of us can learn from this."
"Yeah," Gummy chimmed in. "We're all in this together. You don't have to hide your pain. Let us take it when you can't. You might not feel strong by yourself - but we are strong. I know we are. I can just feel it. And like you said the day we met Specs decided to be his partners: 'We're half pints by ourselves, but the three of us together make a whole pint.'"
"Still pint and a half, actually." Justice mumbled under his breath.
Vee silent, his lead lifting and turning to his brother. "But..."
"Always with the buts, you just have to believe in yourself, Veemon," Gummy told him. "You have to believe that you can defend yourself. Not just for me, or Specs but for you. And you can do it, I know you can. And if Specs knows you can. Besides..." his face turned a bit red with what he was about to say next. "You're like the coolest big bro I could ever ask for.
Vee's ears stood straight up on his head and he opened his eyes to Gummy's comment. He lifted himself from Justice's chest and looked at the Gumdramon for a few moments before hugging him in a warm embrace, tears still rolling down his face, but not from sadness, but from happiness. "Thank you..." He reached for Justice's shoulder, bringing him in. "You guys are the best I could ask for."
Dorothy then asked the two if they were still up for their match, in which Vee responsed with jumping out, wiping his tears away. "Yep! You bet! I feel like now, we're better than we were before. I won't let my failures hold me back. You're right Justice, failure and mistakes are what makes me... normal. It's what brought all me - us - here today. I have faith in all three of us!"
Suddenly, Justice's D-Watch began to glow a vibrant orange, as well as the bracelets on Vee's arm and Gummy's tail.
"What's this light?" Justice said, standing up in surprise.
"I've heard about it. It's the light of Digivolution." Gummy said in awe.
"Digivolution? Oh! You mean that thing in which you guys transform, right?"
"Yeah, With this, the both of us can become stronger from the power in your heart!" Vee said happily.
"Seriously?!" Justice exclaimed, a wide grin started to appear his face. "This suddenly just tool a turn to awesome!" He turned to Alice. "Uhh how do I initiate the Digivolving-thing?"

For a moment, Alice and Dorothy let the trio have some space, the pair mostly just hoping for a good outcome. Dorothy seems especially invested, gazing at the group from a distance, her mood anxious, the words she said being hard for even her to believe at times. "Guess everyone's got their problems... And ways to get over 'em." For a moment, she looks to her Tamer, knowing that something is on the green haired human's mind, but as always, she'll never say it.
Alice smiles for a bit as she hears Dorothy, but for now, she mostly keeps to herself. "You'd be right. Perhaps I need to revise some of what I've been thinking..." Once again she returns to being lost in thought.
Turning her attention back to the conversation the two lizard-like Digimon and their Tamer are having, Dorothy slowly, gently floats back over on her broom, realizing that things seem to have taken a turn for the better. Feeling good about herself, she almost asks if the pair is ready for a second round until something unexpected happens, the glow on Justice's watch-like Digivice catching the witch's eyes. "Hey, Alice! Take a look!"
"Ahh, what is it?" Finally heading back towards the group again, Alice immediately seems interested in the glow, something both familiar and yet... Utterly mysterious. "Your Digivice! I know this light, it means your partner, or partners, in your case, are ready to Digivolve... As for how it happened, I still don't know how it works..." She trails off, mumbling something too quietly to discern, but without a doubt a question to no one in particular.
"Iunno. Whenever it happened with me 'n you, it seemed to be when you overcame something that was bothering you. Like, emotionally. I ain't an expert like Dork Queen here, but whatever." Dorothy's comment only evokes a confused sigh from Alice, who doesn't respond. "Whatever, to me, that means you 'n Gummy are ready for round two... If ya want. I can take it!" She boasts.
"Well, I can't stop you, but yes, I think it would be an opportune time to test things out... Though I can't guarantee when they'll be able to do it again. I'm not sure how Dorothy here stays in her Champion stage so easily... As for why, I think you just like it." Alice seems to warm up a little bit after her Digimon's comment, slipping her Digivice out of her bag and casually tossing it with her hand once. She seems curious, but not for the reasons Dorothy seems to be, something a bit more thoughtful. "Just be warned, I don't think either of us will hold back this time. And only if you want, of course."

Justice's fingers clenched around the D-Watch, the device still glowing like a bright sunrise. Hearing from Alice that they were not going to hold back for the next round, he grinned widely. He wasn't gonna let an opportunity like this slip. For the longest time he'd wanted to see what his two Digimon could turn in to when it was that time; that time was now. He turned to both Vee and Gummy, whom in turn nodded at him. "Alright then, let's get this party started!" he said, clencthing his hand where his D-Watch was on into a fist. The light on Vee and Gummy's bracelets began to quickly engulf the two dragons in a blinding light, making Justice put his arms over his eyes in response. "Veemon, Digivolve to..." The light around him were all absorbed in a tornado of digital flames that surrounded Vee's form. The small blue dragon's body shifted to become even bigger, much larger and muscular form. The horn on his noise became larger and longer, almost in the appearance of a large dagger. Large, white wings expanding outwards, a single flap were strong enough to dispense the flame tornado around him. His colors stayed intact, with the yellow markings on his face staying the same, but only much larger. An additional marking materialized on his chest, taking the form of a "V", with two lines coming out of the bottom of the V to make it look like an X. He now had three fingers on each hand, with small horns on his knuckles. His eyes showed a more seriousness and more confidence than before, and with that he shouted with pride, "ExVeemon!""Gumdramon, digivolve to.." Like Vee, Gummy grew to a large size as well, having a bit leaner build than his older brother. The spikes around his face grew much larger and more angular, The "X" mark on his face still remained on his forehead. He was clothed in armor made of a specialized rubber, thanks to his elastic nature. He was dorn with black leather pants, a belt with a buckle that sported an "X" mark as a decal, gloves around his three-fingered hands, and foot bracers. His hammer tail transformed into a long, sharp tail anchor donning the tip. On his back, his wings grew larger, but not nearly big as his brother's. Wiping the flame data out with his tail, he stood tall and proud. "Arresterdramon!""Holy shit..." Justice was opened mouth in shock, struggling to find anything to say. So this was the power of Digivolution. He always knew that his two Digimon would take such a difference if they ever digvolved, but this was something else, something amazing. Stepping over the grass that had burning embers still trying to manifest into flames, he approached his two Digimon with a bit of caution, still wary if they were still the same. "How...how do you guys feel?"
Vee and Gummy started to take in their new look, looking around themselves. They'd never imagine they had this kind of power in them; it was a bit alluring at first. "We feel..." Gummy let out, his tone a bit sinisterly. "...Like we just got finished training for 10 years!" Vee finished, really amused. He then turned to Dorothy, giving her a smirk, then to Gummy. "Two brothers against one, right?" Gummy agreed. "It's fair." The two gave each other fist bumps and stepped away from the two Tamers and approached the witch Digimon, getting into their ready stance. This fight won't be like the first round.

"...Well, then." Alice's smile takes on a slightly less friendly, more competitive tone as she begins sketching things out, tempted to take a look at the two recently evolved Digimon with her Digivice scanner, but too busy getting down the details in her drawing. The pair of dragons makes her a bit uncertain for Dorothy's safety, but given the previous sparring matches, both are feeling confident. "Are you ready, Dorothy? Being outnumbered like this... Isn't exactly a common situation." "Yeah, bring it! I'm still gonna give you some trouble!" Dorothy's cockiness is obvious now, pointing at Vee with not a hint of hesitation as she kicks her feet a little, the broom flying up higher into the air as she readies her next assault, the orange glow pooling in her hands an obvious indicator of what is to come next. "It ain't life or death, but it's still two against one!" Another magical symbol forms as she puts her hands together in front of her, and from it globs of burning tar come raining down upon Vee as she floats above the pair. With the first attack finished, she uses the broom to swoop down and head straight towards Gummy with a green symbol at her palm, the sharp turn enough to get her hat to slip off and get her to hastily put it back on before continuing. "Baluluna Gale!" The second attack she ends up performing is slashing at Gummy with blades of wind in an attempt to cut away at the Arresterdramon's armor. "Show me what ya got! I don't have all day!" As confident and aggressive as she is, she knows that no matter what, she's outnumbered. Being careful isn't exactly something she's used to, but now she has to be at least a little bit cautious. Getting hit off her broom would be not only humiliating, but almost certainly spell defeat, her other hand gripping the handle tightly, the witch's speed and range perhaps her only advantages at this point. As Dorothy begins to fight, Alice becomes engrossed in witnessing the battle again, casually heading over to Justice's side while staring at her notebook the entire time. "It's good to see everyone so... Full of energy. And for our friends here to show off what they're really capable of, right?." After briefly showing Justice the completed sketches, she slips the notebook away, the look in her eyes not relaxing in the slightest. -- Dorothy uses Armagus Flare on Vee and Baluluna Gale on Gummy. (Both are detailed earlier in the thread.)

The two brothers took Dorothy's comment as a challenge. Sure it was two against one, but they had a feeling that the witch Digimon was only now about to show her true strength since she couldn't before. They watched as she flew above them, preparing what appears like balls of fire to rain down on Vee. In response, the two quickly split off, with Vee using his newly acquired wings to fly out of the way while Gummy sprinted out of her target range. The raining tard left burned marks around the field in the process.
Seeing as how they could been burned to a crisp if they were still in their Rookie forms, Gummy was bit taken by surprise when Dorothy decided to come after him, preparing the same attack that utilized condense air pressure that blew his brother away earlier. Instead of moving out of the way however, the Arresterdramon decided to boast up his chest, plant his feet firmly onto the ground to take the attack head-on. "Bring it!" he said. With this power, he didn't feel like he was gonna lose. The gust of wind hit him head, tiny blades of wind beginning to scratch and cut his armor, making him wince a bit, his feet starting to skid off where he stood with dirt coming out. When the attack ended, he was still standing, his eyes gleaming a bright green as this was the chance to attack since the witch had to prepare her spells before she attacks.
Seeing this as well, Vee used his wings and flew at Dorothy, preparing his attack. An orange light starting to radiate from the X symbol on his chest.
"EX Laser!" The symbol on his chest shone brightly, releasing an energy wave at Dorothy in the form of an X.
Regardless if the attack landed or not, It allowed Gummy a good shot to land his first attack in this new form.
"Mach Flicker!" Gummy shouted, unleashing a barrage of consecutive punches at Dorothy.
Watching the fight, Justice too became engrossed at the action, not taking his eyes off for even a second. He found it pretty hard to contain his excitement seeing his two Digimon in action. A hudge grin was on his face and his eyes were wide in attention. He was like a kid who had just received a cool and expensive toy for his birthday. He was so into it that he didn't even notice Alice coming to his side, so when she started to talk, he jumped a bit in surprise. "I know right? All of this action is just too crazy to miss!"
She then showed Justice sketches of both Vee and Gummy in their newly evolved forms, which raised an eyebrow on him. "Wow, you draw very fast. You sure you're not magician like your Digimon and just conjured up a spell on your notebook?" he asked in a humor manner. After that, he started to cheer for his Digimon, unable to contain his excitement anymore.
Vee flies out of the way of Dorothy's Armagus Flare.
Gummy decides to take Baluluna Gale head-on, suffering a few minor cuts all around him.
Vee uses Ex-Laser on Dorothy. Ex-Laser: Chagres an intense laser beam in the shape of an X from its X patterned-chest and fires it towards the enemy. Strong enough to destroy large boulders. Two-post cooldown.
Gummy uses Mach Flicker on Dorothy after Vee's attack. Mach Flicker: Unleashes barrage of punches . One-post cool down .

Indeed, things are different this time, Dorothy's movements much harder to predict as she zips around on the broom, making sure to try and stay on it and avoid getting too close to the pair of evolved dragon Digimon. The stress is obvious to see, her teeth clenches tightly into a crescent grin while she silently focuses on the situation at hand. No longer capable of tanking the blows the twin dragons deal out, the first thing she does when an X-shaped laser flies her way is to hastily set up some form of protective barrier, snapping her fingers and shielding herself in a glassy, reflective orb. "Shardallion Lens!"The searing orange beam of Vee's laser is harmlessly absorbed by the sphere, dispersing the attack into a harsh orange glow that obscures Dorothy completely. "Gyahaha! You're gonna have to hit me harder than that!" Just as she says this, a fist cracks and breaks through the orb, sending shards of shattered orange material through the air as Dorothy gets slugged repeatedly. The first blow stuns her, the next few send her effortlessly tumbling into the dirt. The broom clatters down alongside the witch, and she stands up, clearly not at her best any more, an unsteady posture visible. "One more chance, that's all I need..." She puts her hands together and focuses, almost forgetting that this is supposed to be a sparring match and not a true fight. Prismatic light flickers between her hands momentarily, multicolored sparks unlike anything she's done before, anger giving way to slight surprise as something new starts to form momentarily. Frustrated, she settles for something less untested for now, the energy forming into a violet pattern before releasing a blast of noxious purple smog at the successful attacker. Alice silently watches the battle with a smile, raising a brow at Dorothy's attempted attack, but her curiosity is set aside for now upon seeing the violet fog. "Trust me, I don't draw nearly as fast as some of my old friends. They're back home, though, far away from Shibuya and Digimon as a whole. That's... Probably a good thing, to be honest." She doesn't show it as much as Justice, but she is just as excited to see this fight. As an opportunity to learn more about Digimon more than anything else, sure, but still excited.
Besides, the curiosity hides her feelings well.
Dorothy uses Shardallion Lens to nullify Ex-Laser, but is struck by Mach Flicker repeatedly!
After, she uses Poison Storm (detailed earlier in this thread) on Gummy in retaliation!
SHARDALLION LENS
The caster raises their hand and produces a large white magic circle around herself that then forms into a bubble-like shield with a translucent mirror sheen. It doesn't last long, but it deflects ranged threats with incredible effectiveness, energy and physical projectiles alike being nullified.
Protects the user in a shield that prevents them from being hit by projectile attacks for 1 turn. Melee attacks still cut right through it as if it wasn't there. Three turn cooldown.
Armagus Flare is on cooldown. (1/2)
