"Ah... its nice to be back, isn't it?"
With a smile, Valeria gave a small chuckle. Both her tamer and herself found themselves at a rather peaceful outdoor cafe in the markets of Terminus. They had settled down for a break this afternoon, deciding to try out the first place they came to the first time they came into Terminus.
The last time had ended with an unfortunate run-in with an irate Stingmon, but thankfully, that insect was nowhere to be seen! Taking a sip of her tea, Ami gave a shrug back towards the rabbit: "Alright, it is nice to be around here again... but really, is this all we came back for? Just tea and a late lunch?"
"Hey," the rabbit's ears flattened a bit, "You were the one who wanted away from all of the craziness in the first place. And besides, we can worry about the semantics of it later... right now, I need to unwind a bit too!"
"Mhmm." Ami smirked: "Just until my mom cools down over you breaking the water heater again, right?"
"... Shaddup." Crossing her arms, Valeria huffed and looked the other way, as her tamer stifled a laugh.
Oh, this was looking to be a rather 'normal' day...

The bustling streets of Terminus, with all kinds of digimon cramming themselves in along the roads that lined the city. It was teeming with life, with commerce, and with some celebrations here and there. All the more reason for Viktor to hate it. Genesis stuck close to him as he pushed through a few Digimon deciding walking slower than everyone else was their way of getting about the city. And like an angry driver, Viktor cursed at them as he passed.
He was slowly losing his cool at the annoyance of the Digimon, like in a city in the human world. He was ready to punch someone, and every second a slow walker prevented him from getting around the crowded sidewalk, he wanted to follow up on that idea. Finally he pushed his way into one of the side streets. A lot less busy street at that, which prompted him to take a deep sigh and sit at one of the many outdoor cafes. Genesis giggling at his struggle with the population:
"Gonna wade out the storm there, pops?"
"If I get slowed down by another slow walker..."
He picked up a menu and began browsing, not really seeing Ami and Valeria literally sitting across from him, flipping the menu with a sniff as Genesis turned and waved. She recognized the two, and though she had somewhat of an internal fear embedded in her after that whole neck biting thing, Valeria was still a little rabbit sitting at the table, looking less threatening. Genesis had faced much worse since then, and could stomach seeing her without cowering in fear. Then again; She was just a cute little bunny rabbit. And the thought of her going back to Mega was something of a fear to the rookie, the fear of the thirst, the hunger, and the despair was something she never wanted to experience again. A small tinge of fear that slowly ate away at her sanity, no matter how hard she fought it mentally.
"Genesis, what the hell is Pu-erh?"

"Well, anyway, it should be alright to burn a few days over here..." Continuing her conversation with her partner, Ami briefly looked down at her Digivice, just to check the time. Valeria, giving a small twitch of the ear, looked across the table as she leaned over.
Wait, was that Genesis over there, waving at them? "Eheh..." A bit nervously, the rabbit gave a small wave back. The last time these two Digimon met wasn't really on good terms. Granted, Valeria didn't quite have her sanity during that fight, but it was still something that wasn't so comfortable to bring to mind. Because of that, seeing Genesis wasn't the best feeling for her...
However, Valeria's wave and the sound of a familiar person gave Ami a moment to pause, and look behind herself, just to see who was there. "Ah!" Giving a wave back to the fox herself, Ami recognized Genesis straight away, a small smile on her face. She didn't feel the tension that their Digimon felt, and besides, it was nice to see Viktor. It was rare to see older tamers, and she had to admit, Viktor's 'older' sensibilities came into play quite a few times. She was expecting to see the somewhat-gruff tamer across from Genesis, and she did-
Wait. What? Blinking, she rubbed her eyes, and stood up to go and say 'hi' to the two at the other table, just in time to hear Viktor's question. "Ah, that would be 'Black Tea'. And nice to see you, Genesis... Viktor?" She sounded almost unsure at that last point: even back at the other table, Valeria was beginning to catch on:
"He does seem cleaner, somehow. Huh."
"... Pardon her tact, please..."

As if more things weren't cropping up in one place, Viktor noticed Ami and her questionably sane partner. He recalled doing a slight intel gathering with them, but it was short lived as Fringe went back into hiding. He was getting closer, so close he could taste victory. But, like all things that got this close, he needed to keep his distance, be patient and let his target come to him. He had come too far for this for it to end with him being brash and immature, like a pup getting his first kill.
But the matter of Ami standing in front of him was something different all together, she wasn't hostile, not by any means. But she was acting...a little different. Like a school girl with a c-
Oh right. He was a lot younger now, that may be why she was acting slightly different. Nevertheless, he would pretend he didn't notice and continue to flip through the menu, finally putting it down and settling with some milk and bakery items. It was no secret that he strongly disliked tea.
Genesis quickly stood up as she offered the two a chair, asking simply;
"Fancy meeting you guys here, what are you doing around these parts?"
Genesis gave a smile to hide the fact that she was terrified of Valeria still. Likely to the two she did a very good job of hiding. But not from Viktor. And it wasn't even the fact that they were mentally linked, but just the small cues from her demeanor and facial cues. They were ever so slight, but they were definitely that of fear. Which made Viktor chuckled to himself, as he turned in the chair to pop his back, assuming Ami and Valeria were to take the seat, Viktor would strike up some small talk as he waited for the food to arrive, giving them a quick fill on Fringe and how he was getting closer to making his drone army;
"I tracked him back to Terminus. Some sources say if he's not here, then he's in Luminas."

Somehow, there was still a tinge of awkwardness in the air between the two groups, as Ami and Valeria came over to sit across from Viktor and Genesis. Perhaps it was because the last time they met, it was on weird terms that neither of them understood with some Datamon or something that they had never seen. Perhaps it was because Viktor suddenly looked twenty years younger... or, most likely, perhaps it was because Valeria and Genesis were awkwardly smiling to each-other, ignoring the big elephant in the room.
"Um..." Blinking through this awkward tension, Ami took more than a moment to register Genesis' question. "Ah, yes. Valeria and I are just trying to chill out in the Digital World for a bit... relax after everything crazy that's happened here, you know?" Shrugging, Ami gave a glance towards Viktor as he spoke about Fringe - honestly, Ami and Valeria knew way too little about this to make a comment - and, for several moments after that sentence came out, both the Digimon and the tamer just looked at him blankly for a moment.
"... Alright, I think I'll just ask it." Valeria sighed, and put as polite a smile on her face as she could manage: "Viktor, why do you look like you belong in the same school as Ami now? You humans age weirder than I thought-"
"Ahem." Putting a hand on Valeria's head, Ami shook her head. "Really, though, it looks like twenty years just fell off your face. I mean... blah, you look nice." There, she got it out! A sigh given herself, she hazarded a guess: "Something catch you off guard searching for that robot?"

Well, that was not a matter of time. Viktor was hoping it would go unnoticed, sure the stress on his face was gone, and the scars were glossed over. But he didn't think he looked that different, and Valeria's question made it pretty clear that it was.
"Was hoping no-one would notice. Koneka reassured me, at least. I, uh, well I kind of died. And in order to bring me back to the living, Koneka kind of overdid it. And it healed me...perhaps too well."
He closed the menu as he rubbed his stubbled chin:
"And yeah, something has caught me off guard. I was told he was a fugitive, a criminal. If that is so, why would he be in the one place a criminal would avoid like the plague? Something just is not adding up in my head."
He took a deep sigh as he stood up, patted both Genesis and Valeria on the head and started for the restroom;
"I will return. Genesis; Behave."
She nodded and darted back to Valeria, not wanting to take her eyes off her. Ever since she absorbed that Myotismon she found herself more...On edge. She did a remarkable job of showing it, but one move to startle her and she'd hear for a fight. She only hoped Viktor didn't notice, which was unlikely. That man picked up on the smallest facial cues, even in Digimon.
Probably why he's hired for questioning so much, nothing gets past him. With a sigh of her own, she spoke to Ami with a warm smile and a chuckle:
"No worries, you probably got him spooked. Commitment scares him. Also, If it's any consolation...Viktor didn't die. He got close, but I have to hand it to him. He took a hit from an Ultimate, but it was the crashing part that nearly killed him."
She tried to remain 'cool' as she couldn't help but glare at Valeria, rather viciously too. She was slowly going from a frightened fox, to a predator wanting revenge. And after what seemed like hours of glaring, she finally spoke with her heart pounding through her ears:
"You know the scar never quite went away...And you took some of my data. As the doc said."
While Viktor wasn't there to keep her in check, her anger slowly started swelling in her. Putting a knot in her stomach as she shifted in her seat, fists balled with a glare that would make Viktor advert his eyes. What was angst was now apathy, fear was now anger. Every second she waited was another second her blood boiled for revenge. This time: She was more than capable.
Some say revenge is a dish best serve cold, when your foe is at their weakest. Genesis always disagreed with it. To her, this was personal.

"Er..."
"Huh."
Well, that was interesting: Koneka was some sort of fountain of youth with her healing hands? It sounded too bizarre, and yet it seemed to be the only thing that made sense. At least, as far as Valeria figured, as she gave a quip back about Fringe: "Well, this city's bigger than most people realize, so if that's the case, then... er..."
And there Viktor went, leaving a confused rabbit, a staring Ami, and a near-steaming Genesis. As the fox spoke to the teenager, Ami snapped back to reality: in all honesty, Viktor just looked too different, and something just wasn't fitting quite right in her head. And Genesis' inclinations weren't helping: "Commitment? Um, I think you're mistaken - wait, an ultimate? What happened to him, exactly... Genesis?"
Here we go...
Yup. The elephant in the room had started to rear its ugly head. For several moments, the rabbit simply pretended not to notice the fox. What was the rabbit supposed to say: 'Sorry for going berserk and mauling everyone'? Besides, there was that dark look brooding at the side of her eyes. And with that last sentence, Valeria gave a sigh. "If it weren't for you blinding me, I probably wouldn't be sane now. For what its worth... thanks, I'm sorry, and I've spent the better part of the time since then working on control. So, how about we don't test it?"
The last thing they needed was another 'incident', regardless of the victim! With that, Ami fought to desperately salvage the situation:
"Er, right! Genesis, what did you order?"

It was as if everything Valeria had to say was only provoking the fox. She was put for blood, and she was certain to make blood spill, even it was her own. She could feel something agitating her, telling her to kill this rabbit and reclaim revenge. She could feel the knot in her stomach climb it's way into her throat, her nervousness made a powder keg that everyone was standing on. And before Ami could finish her sentence, Genesis cleared the table with both arms; sending silverware and plates across the cafe. She gripped the table as she spoke;
"You're LYING to me! You WANTED to so this!"
A voice of reason spoke to her, her rationalization was kicking in. Not sure what exactly she was thinking. But the more she did think, the angrier she got. And that was an open flame to this powder keg. The cocktail of emotions only fueled the fire as she spoke again, equally as angry;
"I'll get my revenge you sorry excuse for-"
A second voice of reason spoke to her, this time in the form of Viktor slide tackling her.
"Enough. What has gotten into you, young one?"
She struggled under Viktor, only for him to shift and make it harder for her to move; "She nearly killed you! You're going to let her get away with that?"
Viktor tightened his grip as he put a forearm on the back of her neck;
"If I has a list for every person that tried to kill me, I could write a damn novel. Stop this before I make you stop."
"You can't make me do-"
Without another word spoken, she was out cold, thanks to Viktor and his knowing of her pressure points. With a simple grab and twist, she was rendered unconscious. He stood up as he waved people off;
"It is ok. Everyone is ok. Just a flux of behavior, go back to your tea."
Viktor sighed as he sat her up; "Sorry about that...I uh, didn't think she'd snap over...Well nothing. My contact called me, just some stuff on that Datamon. So uh...Your hair looks nice?"
Though he'd admit he did see Ami as slightly different, he was more interested in changing the subject, trying to decert attention from the fact that his Digimon literally almost destroyed a cafe for nothing. Generally something most people don't want on their hands.

"G-Genesis!" The Renamon's sudden outburst caused Ami to blink, barely raising her arms in time to cover herself from the silverware sent flying from the table. Wow, this was turning out really bad: Viktor was gone for a moment, and Genesis had already snapped, an absolute vicious look in her eyes trained directly towards Valeria. If the daggers shooting from her eyes were real...
"... Jeez." Surprisingly calm, Valeria gave a sigh, shaking her head. No matter what she did, it wasn't going to make it better. If nothing else, Genesis wasn't going to take anything from her, so she simply kept quiet as Genesis went on. After all, the fox didn't see the Russian man running from behind, ready to pin her to the floor. With a fierce thud given from the fox, Valeria jumped atop Ami's shoulder, looking down at the struggling pair. Ami looked like she was about to say something, but with a tug to her sleeve by the rabbit, and a shake of Valeria's head, Ami sighed and let Viktor handle it.
And it was handled, leaving the fox unconscious in her chair. Well, that was one thing settled... but, looking around, Ami noted that the entire cafe was now left staring at them. Even after Viktor's word to the restaurant, they were definitely drawing more than a comfortable amount of looks... perhaps it would be better if they just went?
"I understand why she snapped... here probably wasn't the best place for it." Valeria shook her head, and glanced towards Ami, as Viktor tried to change the subject:
"Oh, um... thanks." Running a hand through her hair, Ami couldn't help but feel the awkward air of the entire cafe just, well, staring at them! "Um, perhaps we should just get out of here? I mean, I don't think we're quite in the mood for tea anymore."
With a dry chuckle, Ami gave a small look towards the fox: "How long will she be out like that?"

Viktor handed the owner the right amount of bits in damages as he grabbed Genesis and threw her over his shoulder, easily carrying her:
"It was like hitting a 'reset' button, she may not remember her out burst. She has been doing this ever since she she absorbed the Miyotismon. I am thinking it has something to do with it. I will find someone to look at her."
Viktor walked to the street, eyes still firmly locked on his fox as he cleared the cafe, rolling his neck as he say her down on a bench and checked her neck, making sure no damage was done, and luckily, there wasn't. He wiped the sweat from his brow as he put two fingers on her throat to check her pulse, ensuring she was fine. As time went on, he'd continue to check her throat and wrists, flicking water in her face.
"Well, that was interesting. We should be in the clear, have you any questions for me?"
He spoke with a sigh as he sat up, waiting for them to ask as they needed or acted as they wanted. Viktor would keep checking on Genesis as he stroked her head, trying to keep her soothed. Then would pull a notepad out and scribble somethings down nonchalantly. Giving Ami a smile if she noticed. Looking at the page would show several dates and times, the whole page infact. Like he was documenting something.

They couldn't get out of that cafe quick enough: as Viktor fronted the bill, Valeria quickly hopped on her tamer's shoulder as Ami followed Viktor out, back towards the market street and out to a clearer side road, where they found a nice bench to have Genesis sit down. From here, if you weren't coming from the cafe, one would likely think that the poor Renamon just had a small run-in with heat stroke... or something like that.
"Yeah, I can understand that... virus-type data always makes a Digimon a little more 'cranky', especially when they're not used to it." With a rather casual observation, Valeria gave a sigh: she knew this first-hand from taking over a rather enigmatic Devimon's data, who still occasionally decided to speak up in her head. Oh, the unrestful nights it used to cause...
"Well, at least she seems to be alright. But, um..." Ami blinked. "I thought that neck-pressure point thing was just movies... and you pulled it off on a Digimon? That's either lucky or... huh." Ami gave a small look around: it didn't look like anyone here was too bent on worrying about a tamer and his 'overheated' Renamon.
"Well, we'll stick around and help if you need us, I guess. But if not, well..." Ami looked away. "Its been a while since we've had a chance to travel with another tamer... you free at all, this weekend?"
Valeria chuckled: it was such a thin disguise!
