Of Loathe and Regret [Shade]

Contempt. Regret. Fear
Older, less familiar feelings that rose their heads given recent events. His mind couldn’t be brought to bear the thought of the lapsed memory. Three days of silence. Three days of darkness.
Not but twelve hours ago did he wake chained to the floor of some room. Guards watching over him and clear signs that he had been there for sometime. Viktor looked down at the fur worn down on his wrists, rubbing them as if to erase them from his body and mind. He didn’t have to guess to know what was done in those three days... anyone with a brain in his situation could tell. Was that all he was then? An object? Something to be used?
A slam of his fist against the wall brought forth that familiar sting... the pain reminding him. But it wasn’t enough. He wasn’t enough. He had no more choice. He needed Kajunemon.
The Fox sighed as he looked around. Still no sign of Genesis or that boy she ran off with. She was definitely exploring the ways of being human, more so now that she was an attractive young woman than a fox who knew karate. She would likely be sometime as this one seemed to be interested in her. He couldn’t deny her like before, he could walk away, sure. But this would lead to him being out of range and not able to source his power.
”Goddammit” he spoke under his breath as he leaned against the wall and crossed his arms. All he could do now was wait and seethe at this emotions that gripped him so tightly. That’s all he could ever do, really.

A succulent meal.
This is all that shade really felt, somewhere distant to him. Somewhere he didn't really know. He'd eye his andromon counterpart that was idly keeping track of him from across the street. The robot shopping in one of the many locales here.
Shade had been very passive for the last few weeks, very contained. Very reasonable. He wanted to go out, wanted to explore. Wanted to know and learn more, he was curious about his 'hunting grounds'. He was curious about all the emotions he could feel piled into this place. He'd turn a page of the picture book, tracking a line with a finger.
There weren't many words, not like the words of those bigger books. These were meant for others, younger than him. People that had been well read and civilized for much longer.
Meal. Meal. Meal. Meal. MEAL. EAT. MEAL. EAT.
The wraithmon huffed a bit and looked up to find the andromon a few feet away from him holding up the tracker device. Showing that he recognized that shade was feeling hungry. The andromon knew of shade's habits of feeding with that collar on. He couldn't digitize anything like he was, all he could do was pull emotions from them. He'd gesture for him to be careful about it and took a seat, raising a brow at seeing the book hastily shoved into his possession.
Shade would clack his teeth and slither off. Seeming unsure for a moment before trotting towards where he sensed all these negative emotions from. The strength that he could feel them were surprising. Contempt. Regret. Fear... there were others but those were so strong!
He'd peer around a corner, finding that individual leaning against a wall. A beast type digimon, a rare breed that he knew as a magical fox. A renamon of sorts. They were known to be fierce warriors, good friends... people you could trust if you became one to them. But to shade he was curious why this one smelled so strange. The wraithmon spoke lightly, from the alley. A whispering question, to see if the fox would follow into the alley. It was one of those deep alleys that if the fox went in the wraithmon could come out fully and still have the both of them hidden.
"Fox...?"

He tried to push off these feelings. Tried to hide what he truly felt but... it grew progressively harder. He’d feel pit of regret art in his gut, that want to just... disappear. Fall of the grid and not have to worry about these problems.
But he had to worry about these problems. They weren’t ones that would go away with time. He was lured. He was controlled again, and he was used. He’d spit and take a deep sigh, trying to relax from emotions that began to grasp. The fox could stay them off... for now.
The a voice from an alley. Something calling him ‘fox’. Which was not incorrect. Viktor winced a bit, stepping closer,
”Show yourself.”
Whoever had business with him, didn’t need to conduct it from the shadows!

Shade could feel those feelings, he could feel them quite well. It was both annoying and intoxicating. Being like an empath of sorts, being able to feel those emotions. He'd grit his teeth, clacking them softly after a few long moments, he could feel the attempt to relax. It didn't seem to work; or at the very least didn't seem to work at a deep level. Whatever had happened to this individual was deeply troubling, making the large creature curious but...
Feed.
The predatory nature in him was difficult to push away, something that he couldn't fight. The large wraithmon blinked and slowly stepped out of the shadows that he 'hid' in. He towered above the renamon, his tail thumping to one side as it drew out of the shadows.
"Fox. Come here?"
The wraithmon seemed pretty curious, sniffing at the air and tilting his head just a little bit. The eyes on his head were closed but the many eyes on his body were not, they were looking around and a few of them were staring quietly at the renamon in front of him.
"Have questions. Better talk in dark. Need know. You know. Shade knows things. Help fox."
That's what other's always wanted, to have questions asked. To have them answered and to have help pushed on them. Though it was a little irritating to have to stoop down to prey's reasoning he'd reach forward to tug at the fox; wanting them to come into the alley. If they did he'd whisk them away into the much deeper more private portions... if not he'd have to do some more convincing!

The proposition seemed almost comical that Viktor gave a low chuckle,
”No.” he said simply, looking over the almost menacing figure. He was the last one to judge by looks, but a creature like this was not after sometime as simple as a truth or answers. It likely wanted something else. Most likely something to eat. That meal would not be Viktor.
And yet... something made him more compelling. More reasonable. The fox gave a small step forward, but quickly corrected to appear he was widening his stance, as though he meant to fight if needbe. Instead, he began to question:
”What could you possible tell me?”
The fox crossed his arms, clearly skeptical but... somehow willing to at least listen to his logic. He was fairly certain he could beat this beast, this Shade off if the situation required it. But that’s if the situation did indeed require it.
Only Shade could determine that now!

Shade tilted his head as the other spoke, telling them shortly no. It was a frustrating sort, an earnest response. The large creature didn't much care for the negatives. It didn't much matter to him, he would go to the fox then. Stepping forward somewhat lightly. There was no real sound to his movements, no oomph to them. He just seemed to glide forward, he noted that small step forward with a curious eyebrow raise. Though his eyes on his head remained closed and that ever present smile still remained. He'd clack his teeth thoughtfully..
"Fox is over... burdened on Contempt. Regret. Fear. Shade can make fox forget. Shade good at that."
Shade shrugged slowly and leaned down to sniff at viktor; not really breaking that personal bubble just yet. He'd furrow his brow lightly and even reach forward to try to tug at viktor. Trying to make the other move forward. He wasn't really being forceful as of yet, he didn't want to make a scene or make really a huge fuss... But he could feel all those emotions in there.
"Could tell Fox what to do. How to do. Make Fox see. Would need time yes?"
Shade wasn't being coy, he wasn't being tricky. He was being honest at this point. He knew exactly what to do with people afflicted with so much negativity. They were bubbly and bright after he was done. He'd clack his teeth thoughtfully and address that question again.
"Fox would be skeptical. But shade has no reason to be tricky. Not in city. Too many faces."

The fox only raised an eyebrow at the first words... make him forget? He didn’t want to know how that process went and the sudden forwardness rose a bit of concern. Yet... he didn’t pull away as ‘Shade’ tugged on his fur. He only planted a slight bit as he heard those final words. That confirmed whomever he was, he was no good. Viktor would sort of break the spell a tad, narrowing his eyes
”Too many faces? Implying you’d do what if there were no faces?”
Maybe he was reading between the lines. Maybe Shade really wanted to help. But this was a shortcut, and in Viktor’s experience... those never ended well. He would only keep his stance wide and his vision narrow. He didn’t trust this beast and with good reason it seemed. But still... something was... off about this. Like it was okay. Like he was telling the truth. Viktor couldn’t pin the thought, but something was swaying him.
And it might be working.

Shade blinked a little bit, tilting his head slightly as he continued to tug at the fox. Trying to get them to follow him into the shadows. It would be along process with this one yes. The wraithmon blinked dubiously as the other asked him about what he'd do if there were no faces. The clacking of the teeth and thoughtful manner that followed would of been worrying if he hadn't already been like this through the rest of the 'meeting'.
"No faces means shade could of started already. Shade wouldn't have collar."
Shade pulled back some of his darkness that had overlapped with his collar. The beeping of the little tracking device made itself known for a moment before he'd let it slide back in the darkness of his body. It was latched to his framewire and meant he couldn't really do anything stupid here. It was something to restrict his power, he could tell the other was distrustful and he couldn't help but huff and sniff at him.
"Shade won't hurt Fox. Want to help Fox. Digimon not meant to have so much negative. Shade meant for that."
Shade was being honest still; he wanted food and wanted to feed on this fox. But his method of feeding didn't require him to take data, didn't require him to load people. With the collar he couldn't do that even if he wanted to. The creature shifted slightly, still tugging, still sniffing and seeming to be a little more wanting for the fox to follow him!
"Let shade help Fox. Come with shade yes?"

The fox would lurch forward a tad as he felt Shade continue to pull at the tuft of fur around his neck and chest. He’d take a step forward but also grip the Digimon’s wrist,
”Very well... you try anything and you’ll very quickly learn how much of a mistake it is to hurt me. Understand?”
This wasn’t an empty threat. Though the D-Reaper’s influence was untethered to either of their minds, Red Mode still existed in his and Genesis’ data. The moment he was brought to bear enough pain, she would come running. Then the hunter would very quickly become the hunted.
Viktor sighed and stepped forward again, letting Shade carry him into the shadow as he kept his guard up, unsure what this would do or what would happen. If he truly meant to remove the negative emotions, he’d have his work cut out for him. If he tried to devour the fox he’d find that a lot harder to do than anticipated. Yet after all of these thoughts... Viktor didn’t feel uneasy or worried. He felt... oddly secure. Like he was going the right way. Was this Shade or did he truly want this? Maybe...
No... it was best to let this one play out for now.

Shade smiled widely as the other stepped forward, not really caring that they grabbed onto his wrist. Made it easier to do the same to the other! With another arm that slid out of his body; it wasn't full of malice or anything thankfully. More just making sure that the other didn't fall over or something. He'd flick his ears at the notion of hurting them and simply raised a brow. One of his eyes peeking out from the lid.
"Was not plan to hurt fox."
Shade puffed up his chest a bit and shifted slightly as he could feel the certainty of the other. Once they were an ample enough distance away hopefully the fox could relax! At the sigh and the stepping forward, shade would sweep viktor up quietly. Taking them deep into the alleyways! Winding twisting around and eventually they'd come to a deep T intersection where there was a cover and plenty of darkness to go around.
Shade would gingerly deposit the fox on the ground, still gripping at his wrists for a few moments as though he was hesitant to let go. Still sniffing away at the fox as trying to make sure that the other's emotions were there.
He would only have to get started for viktor to realize that he meant what he said. Though the draining sensation as the wraithmon tugged at those emotions would feeling worrisome at first. It'd very quickly give way to the positive emotions hidden underneath!
"Fox has so much negative. Need less. Shade eats negative. Get's answers for fox. Fox gets better after the negative gone."
Shade didn't seem to be moving away at the moment though, he was still trying to tug viktor over into a darker spot of this T section for one reason or another!

As soon as he was swept of his feet, Viktor gave a small, almost surprised gasp as the suddenness of the movement was unexpected. He could feel the twists and the turns and he could only think of Shade in a positive light as he’d look up and catch glimpses of his features. This was unlike him... he normally would deny the beast and even fight him off but yet... he felt as though he should listen and do as needed. Like a thought in his mind reminding him that Shade could be trusted.
Finally, they’d stop and Viktor’s trance was broken. He could make our a T sort of intersection with only darkness at all sides. Whatever Shade had planned it wouldn’t be seen by anyone but the two. He would listen and shake his head. Shade had a point... Viktor had a lot of negative emotions. Could be really... ‘eat’ them? Viktor has so much, there would be no way he could get all of them.
Viktor sighed and leaned back, examining what he could see. What did he truly have to lose? Anything ‘life threatening’ would result in an angry fox crushing Shade. Worst he could do was try to take his negative emotions and either consume them... or be consumed.
Viktor nodded and stepped forward, ”F-fine. Go ahead and try.” he spoke as he followed him into the darker area!
At very least, this would be interesting.

Shade didn't seem surprised as the other was swept off of their feet; the gasp causing an ear to flick but nothing really bad. It didn't take him very long to find where they needed to go, thankfully the conflicting emotions that viktor was experiencing gave the wraithmon the time he needed to travel.
That trance made it even easier and the wraithmon looked around thoughtfully. Looking up to sort of gauge what the time was and how long this was going to take. Huffing to himself he'd tug still at the fox. Trying to get them to follow him further in. But they seemed adamant for the moment to stay to examine. Shade gave them the time they needed and once the other spoke shade perked up.
"Fox will not regret."
Shade would walk forward, tugging the renamon into the darkened area. Slowly sitting down. The creature would tug at the renamon to sit down along with him. Though where he suggested he sit might be odd for viktor. Right in the beast's grasp so to speak.
"Will take some time. Sit!"
Shade said quietly, tugging at the fox. If he sat down where shade directed he would immediately start feeling his emotions getting tugged at... though it would take quite some time for the wraithmon to get any real headway! Shade clacked his teeth, seeming rather amused by this whole thing. Or perhaps he was enjoying himself? It was hard to really tell!

Another sigh and clearing of his throat in the darkness. He understood sitting but... in his lap? He thought on it, and the more he did, the more it made sense. The embrace was likely what was needed to siphon the wrought emotions. If this was the only way?
Viktor would take a deep breath and sit where Shade told him to. Looking up a tad as he felt a sudden nervousness overtake him. Enough that he might stand up quickly. Or would have... if not for that influence. Viktor adjusted backwards a bit, moving to and fro as he looked at Shade. A hard swallow followed;
”Remember... if you hurt me...” he said almost as though he was reassuring himself more than anything. He’d close his eyes and try to relax. Hopefully this wouldn’t take as long as Shade made it sound. But if Viktor was thing... it was patient!

Shade tilted it's head, the sighing, the clearing the throat. He'd raise a brow; one of those eyes peaking out from underneath his closed lids. There was a small furrowing as the fox seemed to think over what he was suggesting. Eventually he'd take a deep breath and sit down against the wraithmon. His body was cool, cold in some places but gentle enough to where he wasn't threatening terribly. Though the wraithmon would have to shut any eyes viktor was sitting against. He felt the other's presence more firmly, the emotions, some of them overwhelming, some of them not. he would have to start small!
At the adjustment shade clacked his teeth and the other spoke. Saying that if he hurt him... well it sounded like he was reassuring himself more than threatening. Shade would shift, Settling where he needed to and coiling the tail around the both of them rather protectively!
"Won't hurt. Said won't. Fox need not worry!"
Shade seemed cheerful, then he'd start his work. Tugging at the emotions gently as to not upset the balance. Inspecting them as he consumed them, dragging memories that caused them with. He just kept working and working on the fox. Who as time progressed would feel the draining effect, but the strange feelings that replaced them were definitely positive!
"So much negative... more than thought..."
Shade mumbled and eyed the sky with one of his tail's eyes. The appendage slithered back into the darkness of the place as it started to get deeper and deeper. If viktor didn't move they'd be here for quite some time... Which would let Shade do a lot more work than probably needed to be done!

Another sigh escaped the fox as he sat quietly in the larger Digimon’s lap. This didn’t feel right... but it would? Viktor’s mind sort of warmed more into Shade, those feelings of contempt, regret, and fear all but erased in such a timely manner. Or so it felt. But the anger. The anger was pulling him out of that trance. He could feel it. That boiling point rising to over his head, over his mind. But even still... he pushed it away and soon... well, it was enough for him to stay where he was. Accepting this ‘devouring’ of the negative emotions. And... wait why was he angry?
What even caused him to be angry anymore? Was this... normal? Wasn’t he always a Renamon? Always with Shade? Wasn’t there something he should be doing? No... he just needed to focus on removing these emotions. Viktor only gave a more content sigh as not just the emotions but the memories faded. That of his human life, of the D-Reaper, of those who betrayed his trust. All melted away as he was left only with the here and now.
He didn’t speak, he only let that warmth over take him. Carrying him into a state of bliss that felt all too familiar... one he couldn’t put his finger on but was one he did rather enjoy. He’d lean his head into the beast, letting him do as he pleased now!
