Just a regular day in Rosewood (Toki, invite)

"Alright Bors, your shift is done for the day. Go relax in the town for the rest of the night why don't cha?" A Palmon shouted over to a red dinosaur. The red dinosaur, Bors, looked over to the Palmon and gave a nods, smiling.
"Alright Rose, I'll head out for the night, I'll be back later."
"Alright, don't spend too long out though, alright? Also, do be careful out there, don't wanna lose one of my most capable workers."
With a quiet laugh and a wave of farewell, Bors walked out of the inn, heading down the street with a small smile on his face, paying little mind to the various rookies staring at him due to his size. When he had first arrived in Rosewood he had only been able to stay in the town for a short time before his money situation began to grow tight. Slightly panicking, Bors had asked around at the various businesses if they were in need of a worker. Eventually Rose, the owner of a small inn near the center of town he had ended up staying at recently, had offered him a job, offering to cheapen the cost of staying at the inn and providing him some pay. He had quickly accepted and had been working at the inn for a few weeks now, with Rose calling him her best worker (not a hard position to fight for, seeing how there were only a few other digimon that worked there).
Now however was his evening off, and he heard of a new grill run by a group of Burgermon being opened. As such his plan for the evening was to head on over to this grill, grab a bite to eat, head back to the inn, go to sleep, and wake up for the next day's shift. That was the plan, at least. But Bors kept getting the feeling his evening wouldn't go the way he was planning.

Toki was wandering the town and admiring the gentle light of the lanterns in the evening. It was just about dinner time and he wondered what he was going to get to eat for now. The sound of grilling echoed in the distance and he figured a new restaurant had opened. He enjoyed trying out new types of food, and food from the Digital World was no exception. It's a wonder the man managed to keep his lean physique.
As he walked the streets towards the restaurant, one of the Digimon in the area caught his eye. Tyrannomon? No...this one seemed smaller than normal. Maybe a prior form he hasn't seen before "Hey there! You going to grab something to eat too? Mind if I join you?" he offered. "My name's Toki Akiyama. How long have you been here if you don't mind me asking?"
He walked alongside the Digimon and seemed to be enjoying his day. "Smells good, doesn't it? It's been a long time since I've had a chance to relax with a good meal." Toki looked around at the various Digimon either training or getting off work for the day. Things seemed to be peaceful as normal and he wouldn't have it any other way. "I hope you weren't here for what happened a while ago. Things...were a bit tense. I'm glad everyone's settling in nicely again."
He chuckled nervously "Sorry, I tend to ramble a lot. I haven't even asked your name." His overall demeanor never changed from warm and friendly, even while apologizing. He hoped he wasn't being too overbearing with the Digimon he just met.

As Bors was walking he came to a halt as someone called out to him from behind. Coming to a stop, he turned to see a human approaching him. To say the least he was shocked, this human was even taller then he was, and he towered over most of the rookie digimon that lived here. Once the human had gotten close enough, he asked if Bors was heading somewhere to eat and if he minded the human joining him. Bors simply stood there and stared for a few moments before answering. "Ah, uh, sure." To say the least he was still in a bit of shock. This human, who's name he caught as being Toki Akiyama, didn't seem to have any sort of fear or caution when seeing him, most humans he had met either reacted with shock or fear when first meeting him.
Turning back in the direction he'd heard this new grill had opened, he began walking again, glancing over at the human who was unexpectedly tagging along now. "I've been here for a few weeks now, before that I was at the Village of Beginnings." The human then mentioned how it smelled quite good, which Bors nodded at. "Yes, it does smell quite good, I've heard good things from some of the guests at the inn I work at." The human then mentioned how he hadn't had a good meal in a while, which drew a curious glance from Bors, though he didn't question him on what he meant. He caused further confusion when he mentioned what sounded like some sort of conflict had occurred in the town some time back, something he would have to ask him about later.
Finally the human seemed to turn nervous, apologizing for rambling and how he hadn't asked for Bors's name. Giving a small smile, Bors nodded his head. "It is alright, my name is Bors. Also, I do believe we are here." In front of them stood the grill, a sign on the front showing a Burgermon's face and various meats orbiting it, the name reading 'meat paradise'. Not the best of names, but Bors wasn't one to judge. He then approached the door, pulling it open. "You first."

Toki nodded "Ah, so a relatively new arrival. I hope the journey here wasn't too difficult. The road between the Village of Beginnings and here has gotten a little safer lately. I once worked as a guide for Rookies and helped them get here so they could start their new life. As far as I know they're doing pretty well. I wonder if relations between Rosewood and the Digimon of the forest have improved as of late." he wondered.
When the two of them made it to the restaurant, Toki brought a hand to his mouth to hide his grin at the...interesting name for the place. Bors held the door open for him "Ah, well thank you." he said as he stepped inside. It was a cozy place and a few other Digimon had shown up to see what the deal was with this place. Toki looked around and saw a free table next to the window "How about there?" he said as he walked towards it and sat down. "I like window seats. I can watch the others go about their day and just relax at the sight of the peaceful life."
He wasn't exactly sure what kinds of meals they offered here, so he would request a menu before looking at Bors "So what do you think you're going to have? I'll probably have some water, or tea if they have it, to drink." he said. There was an air of tranquility around this human. "I hope Rosewood's been treating you well. It seems to be a good home for a lot of wayward Digimon. Out of curiosity, have you met humans before? If you haven't, I apologize if my sudden appearance was startling. I forget that a lot of Digimon still haven't met humans before."
The smell of the restaurant was pleasant enough, so it seemed like they were good cooks. "You work at the inn? I know some people who frequent that place whenever they're here. It's a pretty popular spot to rest after a long journey."

Bors followed the human in once he stepped through the door, stopping to look around at the interior of the restaurant. It was nice, it had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Tables and booths spread out across the building, though his unexpected dining partner pointed to a table by the window. When looking to him was a raised eyebrow the human explained that he liked to watch others go about their day and relaxed at the sight of peaceful life. "Uh, alright, if that is what you want." He then followed the human to the table, taking a menu offered to him by a passing Burgermon and responding with a thanks. Much to his relief one of the chairs at the table looked to be built for larger diigimon, which he proceeded to sit in, mindful of his tail as he did so.
Bors then turned his attention to the human, who questioned him on what he would drink. "Ah, probably a soda perhaps. I am not a fan of just water or tea with my meals." The human then asked him if Rosewood had been treating him well, which he nodded in confirmation. "It has been pleasant for the last several weeks, when I first arrived I had been a bit uneasy, but that isn't much of a problem anymore." He then asked if he was the first human he'd met. "No, I've met a number of humans before, some of them in the Village of Beginnings, some here in Rosewood, and others in different locations. So no, you didn't startle me. It was more unexpected, I had assumed I would be eating alone tonight. It is also because you are a bit...odd, compared to the other humans I've met."
He then asked about the inn that he worked at. "Well, I work at a inn, it is on the smaller side of things. With the growing number of digimon living here, as well as the increasing numbers of humans and digimon visiting, I guess more and more inns have needed to open up."

He laughed a little bit when Bors called him odd "Well I guess that's fair. I just enjoy spending time with people whether they be human or Digimon. Does that make me seem...odd?" he asked as he looked over the menu. "I'll admit I've only really tried reaching out to others really recently, so I guess I can come off as a bit overbearing. I just want to do my best to make some friends in this world."
When asked for his order, he looked at the menu one more time "I'll have the burger and fries. Thank you." he handed them the menu before he returned to the conversation at hand. "But yes, I can imagine the first time in any unfamiliar place being a bit unsettling. I remember moving to Shibuya for the first time. Didn't know how I was going to get by being crowded by so many people. I guess the Digital World helped out a lot as far as being an escape goes."
Toki thought about the implications of more Digimon and humans showing up "Hopefully there won't be an overpopulation issue...it's good that they're being so accommodating for people." he took a sip of his drink when they brought it over. "I wonder where some of these Digimon will go after they've grown a bit. Some will stay here, some might move to the bigger cities like Terminus and Whitewater. Or see the Blossom Isles. Maybe even go on their own adventures. We've all got our stories to tell." he said, that ever present smile not leaving his face. "Out of curiosity, do you have anything planned? Or do you think Rosewood is a comfortable place to live out your days? Either way's a good choice if you ask me."

Bors simply watched and listened to the man, listening to him question if him spending time with humans and digimon makes his odd, and then saying how he can come off as a bit overbearing due to wanting to make friends in this world. "It isn't the idea of you wanting to be friends with digimon and humans that is odd, I would say it is the level of excitement and enthusiasm. The humans I've met could get excited or enthusiastic, but they were usually more calm." He then turned his attention to the Burgermon who walked up to take their orders. "May I get the 20 oz steak, please?" He asked, attempting to give a smile towards the small digimon, though that did little more then make it tremble a little in fear. Suppose I need to work on my smile still.
As the burgermon practically scurried away, he turned his attention back to Toki, who was now talking about how he moved to some place called Shibuya, whatever that is, probably somewhere in the human world. He then mentioned how he wasn't certain how he'd handle the crowds, and Bors it curious that he viewed the Digital World as an escape. "Interesting you call the Digital World an escape from the crowds, as I imagine it would seem more crowded then whatever this Shibuya place is. Unless you are staying out in the wilderness mainly."
The human then began to wonder aloud, at least Bors assumed that was what he was doing, about if the digimon currently here would settle down or move on to other settlements, before asking if Bors had any plans or if he intended to stay in Rosewood. "Well...I do not have any plans for the time being, the last time I traveled outside of Rosewood I was sent to Binary Archipelago on a 'forced vacation', as the inn manager called it. Originally she had received an invitation to a resort there, but she couldn't go, and she sent me in her steed. As for if I will remain in Rosewood...I have yet to decide, though it has been quite pleasant for the last several months."

He nodded "Ah, right. I like meeting new people and Digimon, and I've never seen one like you before, so I thought I'd say hi." he said, hoping that was a good enough explanation. He looked at the waiter take his order and frowned at the fearful reaction they had to him. It seemed to distress Bors as well "Hey...you okay?" he asked, worried about how he took that reaction.
Still, Bors continued the conversation, something Toki respected "Trust me, in certain parts of Shibuya you can't go five feet without bumping into somebody. It gets really chaotic really fast. Here in Rosewood and the Village of Beginnings I can have a moment to think and relax and that's been good for me for sure. I do a lot of exploring as well, seeing the different locales and cultures among the Digimon. It's been an amazing, if not sometimes painful, experience."
The sounds of idle chatter and the cooking of food in the background was pleasant noise to listen to between sentences He listened to Bors' plans and smiled "Well there's nothing wrong with being happy with how things are now. In fact, I respect those who are content with what they have." he said. He chuckled slightly at the 'forced vacation' bit. "Well at the very least I hope you had fun on that. Binary Archipelago is a nice place to visit in my experience."
"Rosewood's coming along pretty well overall, so I'd totally understand wanting to stay here. I hope the refugees from the forest attack find the same level of peace and pleasantness you have so far. It'd be nice to see them get back up on their feet after what they went through."
After a while, their orders would arrive and it all looked delicious "Oh wow, this looks great. Can't wait to dig in." he took another sip of his tea before taking the first bite into his burger. "Mm. Cooked to perfection." he said, clearly happy with the food. The fries sparkled a bit due to the nice layer of salt dusted over them "I'll have to remember this place."

According to Toki this Shibuya place was a lot more crowded that Bors could of imagined,. He was already a big digimon and had some issues bumping into other digimon from time to time here in Rosewood, he couldn't imagine what it would be like if he ever visited this Shibuya place that Toki was describing. He then told Bors about how he exploring the Digital World as well, seeing all the different locales and cultures. "My curiosity of the outside world was one of the reasons I had left the Village of Beginnings. While I haven't done a particularly large amount of exploring, the times that I have have been quite an experience."
He then frowned slightly at the mention of Binary Archipelago being a nice place to visit. That isn't always the case. He then shook himself from that darker thoughts, once more listening to Toki discuss Rosewood, as well as discussing about refugees from a forest attack coming to live here. While curious, it wasn't his place to ask. As Toki had been talking their food was brought out, this time the burgermon giving them their food being far less scared of him, though still staring none the less. As he cut off a piece of his steak and began to chew, he let out a pleased hum, slowly chewing and savoring the taste of the meat. "Agreed, the food here is quite good, it just might have the best steak I've tasted in Rosewood."
Bors then went silent for several moments, silently eating before speaking again. "I'm sure you are curious about why that burgermon seemed scared earlier. Well, the reason for that is because I can come off as...intimidating. It isn't often you see a rookie level digimon as large as I am, so when I first got here most people were kinda shocked, and in some cases scared, when they first saw me. I've been here long enough that most digimon have gotten use to me, though newcomers usually have that response still when first meeting me."

Toki continued to enjoy his food as he hummed a happy little tune to himself. He listened to Bors "Curiosity is a wonderful thing. Just got to be careful where it leads you. I learn that the hard way, sometimes." he said with a bit of a laugh. "Still, there's always an experience wherever we decide to explore. Sometimes big, sometimes small, but there's something at the end of every adventure."
He took notice of Bors frown and felt a little bad. Did he bring up something Bors didn't want to think about? He decided to drop that particular part of the conversation since he didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable at all. He brightened back up at the mention of the food though "Oh really? Maybe I'll have to order that next time I come along." he said. He munched on one of the fries "Ooh these are really good. You can try some if you'd like." he offered.
Toki listened to Bors' explanation "Hm...well I can see where you could be intimidating, but I can also relate. I'm taller than a lot of Japanese people, so when they see me they naturally feel a little overwhelmed by that fact alone. However, I think it's your actions that tell what kind of person you are, not what you look like. From what I've seen you're a pretty good person, Bors. You work at an inn and you seem pretty courteous and respectful of others. Sure first meetings might be a bit awkward, even when you feel like they shouldn't be...but I'm sure once they give you a chance they'll see you for who you really are."
Toki hoped that the words he was saying made sense and brought some peace to Bors' mind. "At least that's how I see things. I know not everyone is going to think the same way as me, but I hope what I said makes you feel a little better..."

Based on what Toki was saying, he seemed to have been in a few bad situations himself in his travels. Though it seemed that even if his travels ended badly he seemed to view them as having provided him something at the end of his journey. Bors couldn't deny that there was some merit to his words. After the incident in Binary Archipelago he had finally been able to digivolve into his champion form without going on a rampage when he did so. He still didn't like doing so, as doing so altered his personality somewhat and made him, at least in his eyes, kind of an ass.
Shaking himself out of his thoughts he nodded to Toki's comment on possibly ordering the steak next time, which Bors nodded his head to. "If you really like steak, definitely get this next time." Toki then offered him some fries, which he gently grabbed from the basket they were resting in. Throwing them into his mouth and chewing them, he hummed in approval. "You're right, they are good."
Toki then went on about how he himself was seen as intimidating by other humans due to his height and how it is one's actions that define a person, before saying Bors is a good person. Bors then waved a hand dismissively. "It's fine, I'm not as upset about it as you might believe. Like I said, most of the people in Rosewood are fine with me now that I've lived here long enough to know me. Some of the new people aren't use to it yet, but they'll come around in time."

Toki nodded at Bors suggestion to get the steak next time and was glad he also enjoyed the fries. He took another sip of his tea before going back to his food. He was just about done eating. Time flies when having pleasant conversation. The two of them have both seen their fair share of adventures and they were equally important. Bors had went through a lot, so he hoped having a friendly voice to talk to would be a good experience after all was said and done.
He listened to Bors as he dismissed his worries about his day to day life "That's a really good outlook. You give people the benefit of the doubt and let them become accustomed to you even if they were a bit wary at the beginning. You don't let that paint a negative picture of them as people. I'm glad things are more good than uncomfortable here for you."
He sighed a bit "It's nice to get this chance to relax and chat with someone in Rosewood. I'm not sure when I'll be back next since I have a journey planned to the Blossom Isles. My friend said she found the location of the last spirit totem I need and I have to prepare to head out that way. It's been a long time coming, but soon my spirit will be whole. He's been a very positive influence for me...so I owe it to him to find this last piece for him."
He finished eating and smiled "But as soon as I get the totem and look around the Isles for a bit I'll probably come on back to see how Rosewood is doing. Though considering what I've seen so far I think it'll be just fine."

Bors simply listened as Toki approved of his outlook and how he didn't view people in a negative light because of how they react to him at first, as well as ending with how things seemed to be good here for him rather then uncomfortable. "Well, it would be difficult for me not to have this outlook I feel, after all, once I had rapidly grown to my rookie stage in the Village of Beginnings I had to learn to deal with it. Hell, the way humans and digimon in Rosewood respond to my appearance is child's play compared to how my friends that were in-training responded when I digivolved. They literally hopped around screaming at the top of their lungs about a monster appearing. Luckily Cherrymon had been able to calm them down, but that was a pretty common occurrence when new in-trainings met me." He then snorted in amusement. "Well, I wouldn't say my stay here has been completely comfortable, after all, it can be hard finding places that accommodate someone my size. I've unintentionally broken a few beds due to my weight when throwing myself onto it without thinking."
The human then mentioned that he was glad he had the chance to talk to someone in Rosewood, explaining that he was going to be heading to the blossom isles to find a spirit totem that his friend had found, as well as feeling obligated to completing his spirit as thanks for it's influences. "Ah, so you are a spirit user, that does explain why you don't have a digimon following you around. Frankly, I know very little about your kind, and based on what you said you can actually talk to the spirit, something I didn't know spirit users could do. As for this Blossom Isles place, I've heard very little of it, I am assuming that it is located in the Southern Tropics?"

"I'm sorry you had to adjust in a situation like that. It must have been difficult, but really that just impresses me even more. I can imagine it must have been pretty shocking to suddenly go from an in-training to such a vastly larger form. A form that has its own struggles and hurdles, from what you're telling me. That could be another project in itself...make sturdier and larger bedding for larger Digimon." he said, nodding to himself.
Toki felt a little bad that he didn't mention the spirit user part earlier "Yeah, it seems like that's a bit of an oddity for spirit users. There's still traces of sentience in my spirit and the more totems I get, the more they remember. With how much they've taught me I owe it to them to find this last one."
Bors then asked about the Blossom Isles "Yes, they're off the coast of the Southern Tropics. They only recently opened their shores to outsiders again after a long period of strife from what I hear. The Digimon there are still adjusting to everything that's happened in the Digital World as of late, as well as coming to terms with the existence of humans. It'll be an adventure, that's for sure."
He looked out the window and propped his chin on his palm "I wonder what I'll do next after that's all said and done. What will there be for me to do...I guess I can focus on just...helping others out to the best of my abilities."

While Bors simply shrugged as Toki gave him praise for handling his situation, there was a small smile that suggested that he appreciated it. "Well, I was a Koromon when I was an in-training, and I wasn't relatively large when I was in that stage, more or less around the size of all the other in-trainings. When I digivolved it was definitely a shock, everything had looked so much smaller like this. Still, if I had to choose between being as small as I use to be or as large as I am now, I'd prefer my current size." While he was curious as to what Toki meant by the next project, he decided to remain silent on it for now.
Bors simply nodded as Toki moved on to explain his spirit. Apparently it was rare for spirits to retain their memory, and this one regained more of it's memories the more totems Toki found. "If I didn't know any better I'd almost think you viewed this spirit as a paternal figure, seeing how highly you speak of it."
Bors returned to being silent as Toki explained to him the situation with the Blossom Isles, finding it odd that the Digimon there were somehow cut off so much that they couldn't even keep up with the going ons of the Digital World. "How is it these Digimon have been so disconnected from the rest of the world? I suppose I can understand them not knowing about humans, but to separate themselves so much that they don't seem to know about recent events? Seems hard to believe. Better yet, is it even safe to go there as a human? I can't imagine they'll be too accepting of you."
As Toki questioned what he would do after his next adventure, Bors finally decided to ask the question that had been nagging at him for a short while. "If I might ask, do you play some sort of major role here in Rosewood? You seem to know Rosewood relatively well, you mentioned something about larger accommodations for digimon as a new project, plus you had knowledge on some forest attack. Just seems a bit odd for a traveler."
