The flow of events that occurred past Shino becoming aggressive were highly predictable. Commandramon aimed for the head and demanded, "Drop him!" Renamon slipped one set of claws under her chin, and Angel put herself between the pair and the other Commandramon.
"Oh, I've been waitin' too long for this!"
"Don't do it!" was the quick command Tadayoshi gave which saved Shino's life. "Angel, back off! She's unarmed!" Come to think of it, that last thing wasn't something he could completely guarantee, but the more probable risk of himself getting a good beating was still better than risking Shino catching a bullet. Commandramon and Renamon compliantly stood down but only as Shino began to pepper Tadayoshi with questions. Angel stayed battle-ready, and unfortunately it didn't look like she wanted to avoid one. Both Tadayoshi and the captain gave the wise cracker side-eye before the human started to spill. "Alright, I can answer all that, but let me go. You're making my friends nervous."
She did. "First of all... I didn't kidnap you. You suggested going someplace else, and this was the safest, most discreet place I could think of." He pointed toward the horizon. "You can't see it from here, but Terminus City is that way. I can get you there and from there home whenever you ask. Meanwhile we're in the middle of the Network Plains, the digital world's biggest, greenest plot of undeveloped land - and that's saying something." But he knew that didn't answer the real question, so he went on. "The digital world - it's exactly what you probably think it is from the name. I don't know whether human technology or this world came first, but here it is. These-" Yoshi gestured at each of the visible monsters. "Are the monstrous denizens of this digital world known as the digimon."
"On most days, to most people, none of this matters. They'll never see this world or its people in their lifetimes." After saying that he amended, "Actually, they probably will, just without knowing it. But I, and apparently you, aren't most people." He prominently displayed his Xros Loader for Shino to see. "Don't ask me how we were selected or why, nor by whom or when and where. But this, these machines are a link between one digimon and one human." Yoshi smiled knowingly. "...or, at least it is for most people. But as for me..." With a wave of the device, suddenly Tadayoshi was absolutely surrounded by digimon. Now added to the mix were Hagurumon, six Missimon, eight MetalKoromon, a Jetmon, and two Rocketmon. There was even one more Rukamon visible on the screen which Yoshi explained with, "Rashi doesn't do well on land."

The sudden show of hostility had mounting effects as Commandramon joined the fray and drew out his gun-- and pointed at the black bunny rabbit digimon. The tension hung for a moment as even Shino sweated, her anger still there but annoyed these creatures just lunged at her. Commandramon kept the barrel aimed as long as the rabbit was at SHino...
"Be vewy vewy quiet, I'm hunting wabbits." he said-- which made Shino glance at the other Commandramon as if he was indeed crazy.
The tension soon died as everyone let go-- SHino, then the others, though Commandramon-- her's-- kept an eye on the black Terriermon, the two not getting along at all at the moment. It seemed both of them wanted some action and didn't care where they got it from.
She listened as long as she could without interruption. Shino's expression went from pissed off, to irritated, to surprised, and then settled in thoughtful as she rose a hand to her chin in thought. She was now in deep hacker mode as she soon reran everything that was said. "This is impossible... and yet, a separate perhaps artificial environment constructed from a digital space that functions the same as a a terrestrial area... and sentient self-aware artificial intelligence capable of taking physical shape and form from mere data. Such technology shouldn't exist and yet... is it perhaps-- " Her train of thought stopped as she gasped and realized Sojiro's shop. "W-wait a minute?! What about my uncle's shop. When i said somewhere else I didn't mean another dimension! He must be freaking out from the mess and without me-- he may of thought the store was robbed and I was kidnapped. Again-- Kidnapped!" she said and pointed a finger right towards his nose.
It was then he explained the Digivice too... the device clearly was related to what just happened minutes ago. The hacking on the shop, and her intervention from it. She had a good idea perhaps WHY she got one after hearing him. "I think its pretty clear why I got it. Perhaps it was from hacking whatever system tried to invade... but that brings the question." Shino then turned to the NEW Commandramon, who was now blinking blankly at them, lost with all of her techno-talk. " Okay, you. Spill. Were you the one who was hacking me a little while ago? Why where you doing it?"
Commandramon tilted his head in puzzlement as he used the tip of his gun to scratch the side of his head and helmet. "Hmmm.... Um...Sorry, Ma'am. I don't know. I couldn't tell you. "
"Can't and won't are two seperate things, you." Shino said firmly with arms crossed. "Which one is it?"
The little military looking Digimon hummed again but lowered his gun from his head. "I'm sorry, but I really can't remember. Actually... I don't think I remember much of anything actually."
The sight of so many digimon now from Yoshi's device was indeed impressive. She wondered if any single one of these digital monsters were capable of hacking as strongly as what happened moments ago. However, her gaze turned to the Commandramon, puzzled and now concerned. "Wait... you mean, you don't remember a thing? You lost your memory?" she asked, a sad tone to her voice.
No doubt for Yoshi, this might be a situation he would find interesting too. How many digital monsters find human partners, but lose their memory in the process?

"You little-" Angel tried to pounce at Shino's subordinate when taunted like that, but she only managed to get as far as an ear's length. That was because Renamon stepped on one of her ears and pinned it into the ground, leaving the wabbit continuing to pull with her arms outstretched for a tackle but with no way to get where she wanted to be.
"Thank you."
"Next time, I'm letting her go. I'm your spy, not your babysitter."
"Duly noted." The captain appeared confused, so Tadayoshi explained, "It's a human world reference. Some American cartoon." As Shino became worried about the shop, Tadayoshi tried to assuage that anxiety with, "Sh, it's OK, don't worry about the shop. Time flows differently here. For example, the five minutes I needed to recharge the digiport in the human world for you were... oh. Thirty-five minutes." Whoops. Tadayoshi forgot about the time divide himself for a bit. "I'm very sorry. But by real world standards, we haven't even been gone for ten minutes yet."
He decided to let Shino and Commandramon hash out their little argument in private when the subject of amnesia came up and Shino clearly asked for his advice nonverbally. "It's... possible. More common that you might think. In most cases, digimon reversion and reboots result in them losing all memories, and sometimes that's the moment they become bonded to a human." Tadayoshi crossed his arms and looked skeptically at Commandramon. "But you didn't revert. We saw you alive and well before and after your amnesia. And that brings us to..."
Tadayoshi knew his Commandramon wanted the floor, to ask the burning question he had, so he yielded. "You said 'kill all humans' - your exact words." With an intense look in his eye he elaborated, "You'll understand if, as the human world's first line of defense, we can't let that go unaddressed."
"That's true. We both heard you. Shino, I know you heard it, too."
"What do you say to that?"

The hostility died down, or to the general degree. Shino listened carefully as Yoshi explained the time difference between the real world and this place. SO by retrospect, the moments they were spending talking him, nothing short of a minute would have passed. Even though she feared if Sojiro would notice anything bad in the shop-- at least she knew her time here wouldn't be as critical. A sigh of relief escaped her as she realized this place had all kinds of rules.
"Honestly, that makes sense. If this is a digital environment, the processing speed of such a scale would no doubt affect time differently. Amazing..." she said, nerding out a bit with her hacker knowledge.
Once things returned to Vector, Shino felt a bit sad. Perhaps it might have been a bad situation for the little gun-toting Digimon, but he lost all his memories-- and it partly was Shino's fault. That much she knew. She stepped back to talk to Yoshi and his Commandramon. "The fault might of been on me a little bit but-- when he or whatever tried to hack the shop's internet, when I tried to counter it... the resulting power surge could have completely wiped his memory. It's not a stretch since that can be done to any computer." she explained.
Still, the one known as "Captain" spoke up to address the "kill all humans" part. Shino glared at him too while he just rose a claw to scratch his chin. "Hmmm... It's kind of fuzzy. But I remember there were no non-humans in that game, so that was why. You know, Ma'am. You were there."
SHino glanced away, perplexed by that one. "Well, that is technically true-- but what about the hack you did on me? That was you wasn't it."
"Nothing comes to mind, Sir! Sorry, Sir!" he replied with a salute to Shino.
A sigh escaped her as her shoulders slouched forward. "Would you stop calling me that. I'm not a military officer IRL. " she said as she turned to Yoshi, unsure what to really do. "Why don't you tell us what you DO remember, okay? "
The Commandramon looked around, trying to remember anything and everything he could. "Hmm... I know I'm a Digimon. My name is Commandramon-- like my fun-house mirror cousin over there." That comment was gonna get him in trouble later. "That's about it really... Oh wait-- I remember the game. Yeah, I was there."
"What for? What were you doing in there?" Shino asked.
"Why else? Having fun I guess-- and I remember YOU!" he said and pointed a claw at her with an endearing tone. "You were so cool! You were like *Bwoom! Pow-pow-pow!* and then you went *--BANG!!* with one shot! You're an awesome sniper. Anyway, I was impressed by how you blew me away. And that is why I want you to be my commanding officer!"
"Wait-- you want me for what?!" she gasped, despite her grip on her Digivice.
Commandramon didn't hesitate to step up closer to her as he held his gun lightly in a rest position. "I wanna be a sniper like you. I bet we can really help each other out. Come on, what-do-ya-say? Let's be friends! Besides, you're very pretty-- for a human."
Shino felt torn, to be flattered by his praise, or smack him upside the head for the half-comment about being pretty for a human. Unable to really think clearly with this little digimon's insanity, she turned to Tadayoshi with an exhausted look. "Honestly, I really could go either way here... but It really doesn't seem like he is a threat? Sort of..." she replied.
However, one thing was clear and Tadayoshi would know it. The Digivice in her hand was the link between her and Commandramon. It was highly unlikely it would even be given to her and respond to him -- if he truly was a hostile digimon wanting to kill her or those around her. The biggest issue was his amniseia-- as to why he was in that game to begin with and what happened then when she somehow triggered his emergence.

'Processing speed?' That... Tadayoshi couldn't grasp that theory in full, but it almost sounded like it made sense. In any case, it meant the world was already starting to make sense to Shino. She's quick.
"So, you claim your threat against humans was just... gaming talk."
"To be fair, I've heard worse. Just not that specifically."
"And the attempted hacking?"
True. That wasn't nothing. But were the answers to find about that? If the stranger just pleaded ignorance from amnesia, than true or not there was no way to elicit those answers right now. "Forget about it. Shino won the engagement. That's the best we can know here." Tadayoshi did not, however, agree with Shino's assessment that Commandramon was no threat. "I don't know, Shino. He did just point a gun at his own head. I get the sense he doesn't have any idea how to use the thing. But in any case... you don't have a lot of choice. No one does." He showed off his Loader. "That's just how it is. What you make of it is yours."

The comment about about the gun at his head and how he might not know how to use it made the Commandramon look grumpy. "Oh, like dobbleganger over there never did any funny tricks with his gun. It has a safety! I may not remember how I know, but I know how to use it. " he said and made a little twirl with his rifle. "It has a paintball mode too! Come at me on the paintball field some time. I'll kick your little ass!" he mouthed off.
Shino felt an unsettling realization she was gonna have to deal with this little, mouthy reptile. "Question, are all digital monsters as peculiar as this one?I think he is a few Gigs short of a hard-drive. " she asked Tadayoshi.
The answer might of very well of been yes to that one.
However, Shino got the gist that the device was her's and more importantly... it somehow had a connection to specifically the digimon beside her. She was both nervous and intrigued at the same time.
Finally getting a sense of all of this, Shino turned to Yoshi with a determined look. "Okay... so what does this make you? How do you have so many Digimon and how did you learn all about this? " she asked, getting a sense of how he operated. "You commanded them like an army, let alone you acted like a general almost."
She was catching on quick to what Tadayoshi was a part of.

"Safety is a habit, not a setting," was the captain's pearl of wisdom in answer to the other's defense. While it wasn't spoken in a hostile tone, he clearly meant a little jab with it. "And if you want to learn to be a sniper, your first lesson will be learning how to keep quiet."
"I promise you that you don't wanna compete with the captain here." Tadayoshi boasted with a little pride, "I've seen him non-lethally subdue a Tuwarmon through a steel wall at almost a kilo. That's what got us recruited by AEGIS in the first place." Commandramon didn't let his own pride show much, but he did stand a little taller and straighter. "I don't think most digimon are as... let's say 'spirited.' Digimon are just people... but different. But not that different." "If the boy scouts don't wanna take ya, I will!" "You'll do no such thing." "Why-" "-would-" "-anyone-" "-paint-" "-a-" "-ball?"
"Why would a gun have the ability to paint?" "I think there's a human game for that." "That sounds fun!" "That sounds boring." "Excuse me? She asked me a question." Apparently, Tadayoshi commanded enough respect to shut his entire army up with only a polite interjection. "I'm actually only bonded to one digimon, like you: the captain here." Tadayoshi put a hand on his shoulder. He didn't react. "The rest are free to come and go as they please." "Oh, are we now?" Renamon snarled. "In the sense that you aren't linked to me through a digivice, yes. After I met the captain, we met the others. Some are under our protection, some want to protect us, some are in it for the glory, the money, the thrill, or just because they have nowhere else to go. We're called Silence, and I am indeed its General." Tadayoshi spoke the word "Silence" in English. "This is where you and I aren't the same anymore. Miss, you have no idea just how much power we're both holding in our hands, but it's not exactly the same. It-" Yoshi hesitated. Digivolution might have seemed like too much for Shino to grasp after an information dump like this. "-Well. You'll find out in due time."

Shino was starting to get the grasp of things. While still mad at how she left the state of her uncle's shop, this was important and she was now understanding what she gotten involved with. The hacking or rather the coding used to infiltrate their computers like that bothered her-- but if Commandramon here was as innocent as he seemed... perhaps it was something else, or a part of something else. It would take a great deal of computing power, and the only reason she overcame it was because she anticipated a command and inserted a self-destroying worm program to undo all of their commands within her system. The result somehow-- forced Commandramon out.
When Tadayoshi explained his digimon and all the others around her-- she was curious now how their powers were different but just as strong. She held her digivice softly in her hand, realizing she had stumbled upon a big mystery. A smile almost came to her lips at the thought to crack the device's secrets.
Her attention came once more to the term AEGIS. "WHo are what is AEGIS? YOu're part of some kind of guild? " Shino asked.
Despite the peculiar attitudes of these digital monsters, she was starting to adjust to the 'chaos' of them. She soon felt the pressure of her Commandramon leaning against her, as if to seek her presence while he was quiet -- for the moment.
"So Commandramon-- like yours, is a species name right? YOu call him Captain for a different alias or true name? " she asked. If that was the case, she realized her COmmandramon would need a name as well.

Tadayoshi thought that he explained that, but looking back he remembered he'd really just made references to the organization without really going into details. He supposed it made sense to elaborate on that since, after all, it was on that duty which he had leapt into action in the first place. "Offline, we call a gathering of more than one person in the same place a 'group,'" was his smart-alecky jab at the gamer girl for using a gamer term before he got down to business. "But it's really more of an 'organization.' We're the first line of defense, like the captain said. We monitor, digimon in Tokyo, assess the likelihood they'll be conspicuous, and step in to maintain the secret. If a digimon is conspicuous, we help them hide. If they're defiantly conspicuous, we might detain them for a while and even send them home. If they're a threat to property we'll subdue them as quietly as possible, and if they're a threat to bodily safety-" Tadayoshi frowned. "We'll neutralize that threat with maximum justifiable force." Tadayoshi decided not to mention the mercenary work his team does on the side, which didn't always pay better but did give his team more freedom when it came to applying force. He also decided not to mention the other line of defense in the human world. "I'm acting co-chief of AEGIS, though when I came to your shop I really and truly just wanted some coffee and wifi."
When Commandramon became the subject, Tadayoshi signaled with a hand that the captain was free to speak for himself. "'Captain' is not my name. I'm just Commandramon. 'Captain' is what my comrades in another time called me. It was more like a nickname than a rank."
"I'd say it still fits though. Now, the Lieutenant, here-" Tadayoshi held out his arm straight, and Jetmon knew this was a signal to perch on it. "And the Spymaster there-" His other arm pointed at Renamon. "Are actually named by their ranks and jobs among my team. Jetmon is third in command, and Renamon - well, her job is probably obvious. Those little guys there - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Gulf, and Hotel -" He was obviously referring to the MetalKoromon with letters painted on their backs in red. Each one beeped once when called on. "They were just all called MetalKoromon when we met. We gave them names to tell them apart. Hagurumon there is just their kind's name, too. However, Angel there, the BlackTerriermon, she came with her name. So did Jekyll and Hyde, the twin Rocketmon; Bonnie, Connie, Tawny, Lonnie, Ronnie, and Sid-"
"-Heyo!" they all enthusiastically, somewhat harmoniously greeted.
"-Are Missimon who named themselves. Rashi, here-" Tadayoshi showed the happy little Rukamon chilling in his Loader. "Got his name straight from his mother - you know, like us normal people. To answer the question behind your question... it's inconsistent. Those who want names have them, and those who don't need them don't bother. Strange to us humans, but that's how it is."

Shino frowned at Yoshi's sarcasm. If she didn't have a similar gun-toeing guardian that threatened her the last time she grabbed his collar, she would of kicked his ass again. Then he finally dropped the sny remark to mention his group. This was of great interest to her. Besides him, there were others with Digimon, who knew about it and actually used the tools and digimon at their command to help stop dangerous ones. She took a moment to ponder this, once again deep in thought. As she did, Commandramon-- hers-- looked up at her curiously, his tail wagging lightly as the time went by.
"Of course i know you make groups in real life. I'm not a recluse. " she retorted "Still, your group sounds interesting. If you are willing I'd love to learn more about it. If there is any place for a hacker, maybe I can be of assistance. And you can help me learn how to work with him."
"Oooh! We joining a party?" Commandramon said.
At the mention of the names -- Yoshi went through the names of all the others. Shino felt a bit overwhelmed by so many to learn, but she smiled at all of them. Especially the fox. She found that one very interesting. But if they both are named Commandramon, it wil be hard to tell them apart." she said and turned to hers. She knelt down and looked at him. "HOw do you feel about having a nickname or different name? Something for you to fit in with humans a bit better?" she asked.
"Hmmm..." Commandramon thought, rubbing a claw to his snout. "I guess I don't mind. I mean its not like I know anyone else who called me Commandramon anyway... What you have in mind, sir!"
Shino shook her head, hating how he kept talking to her like an officer. "Let's see..." she thought aloud and her gaze soon came to his rifle. Rifle... shots fired... line of sight... trajectory of a bullet... Her mind went to many differnt topics, then settled to a word that justified him well. "How about... 'Vector'? Does Vector sound good? Like the Vector of a bullet."
For a moment, Commandramon's eyes lit up at the sound of it. It was almost as if the first moment to have 'an identity' beyond just being another Digimon, like the other COmmandramon. It was something that gave him something special. "Vector... I like it! I like it a lot. Private Vector, reporting for duty, Ma-am!" he said happily with a salute.
"Please stop calling me that..." Shino sighed.
At least it cured the problem of separating Tadayoshi's Commandramon from her own, or else they would be calling for the same name all the time.
"So, um... any chance we can return back to our world, cause i get time is faster here... but I'm sure my uncle will kill me if I am not there to explain the shop." Shino asked.

Tadayoshi began to charge his digiport, but in the minutes it took he had time to answer, "We already have hackers, and they're people we know and trust. I don't know if I feel comfortable introducing a hacker I don't know to so much highly sensitive information of an organization whom, naturally, faces dire consequences in the event of its work being made public." The boy folded his arms, feeling conflicted about that. He was, after all, recruited as a total stranger to his boss, like Shino was asking. There's also the matter that it wasn't a matter of just checking a box; he and all of his digimon were thoroughly vetted and stringently evaluated... except for Angel, so Tadayoshi was convinced. If they weren't right Sophie would-
-Right. Sophie wasn't here. That meant those duties would fall to a couple of 16-year-olds both equally new to the organization. All the same, it just didn't feel like the honest thing to turn down a sincere application without even bringing it to one of the James siblings. "...I'll pass on the request." Five minutes later a portal opened, through which Tadayoshi offered, "After you." While Shino would end up exactly where she left the shop down to the inch, this time her wait for Tadayoshi was divided by seven instead of multiplied.

Shino was put off a bit by Tadayoshi's cynical response to her possibly joining-- even a bit offended. If it wasn't for the response to her violent outrage before grabbing his collar, she would of done so again but didn't. She grumbled at the response and leered at him with folded arms. "You really have a habit to pissing off a girl, you know that? Well , you can kiss that coffee goodbye for that comment. " she replied grumpily.
"Oooh is Coffee something you can eat? " Vector asked, fitting in to his new company easily.
As the portal opened, the conversation was left in the air ... but Shino had no choice but to go along with it. "Fine. One crisis at a time... Let's just hope not much time had passed or Sojiro will kill me. " She said and with a breath to swallow her fear-- she jumped into the portal.
Upon their arrival, they were in the back alley of Sojiro's shop, Shino already sensing the difference and similar feel and sounds that could only be Shibuya. Despite the craziness and the fallout to now having a digimon partner... Shino had her new partner wait out in the alley as she went in to explain to Sojiro what happened.
A fib of many fibs, from how the computers and technology blew out-- and the mess of an angry customer who was too impatient for his coffee. At least Tadayoshi would get a surprise if he decided to show up again to cause Shino grief.
The End.

This was not the first time Tadayoshi was told he had no idea how to treat a girl. He owned that, too. "You should meet my girlfriend. You two agree I anger the fairer sex a lot." He shrugged and looked down, indeed ashamed but also resigned to his fate. It was tolerable since, after all, he still got the girl in the end.
Tadayoshi returned everyone in his team to his Loader prior to his return to the real world. Back in the shop he attempted to say goodbye to Shino and wish her well, but she was making it quite clear with both verbal and nonverbal language she wanted nothing else to do with him right now. Well, now that was going to be a big, big problem if he was ever supposed to be her superior. Still, the General promised to seriously consider her request, and so that was what he was going to do. Maybe she'll be a bit less cross with me if we can work together on that 'Vector's' lack of... discipline, he thought, even using the diplomatic word in his own head.
Unfortunately, he lost something after all this: Now I must find a new place to take breaks... and Renamon might just murder me for not getting her coffee.
Silence has withdrawn.
