Gar hummed as he walked about the park, bring one of his hands up in order to push some of his hair away from his face before returning to one of the pockets of a brown jacket with a star stitched on the front right side, currently worn over just a simple gray tee shirt. It was one of those semi-rare days when both of his parents wouldn't be home all day and probably not for most of the next either, so Gar wasn't expecting to get any calls and he didn't plan on making anything for dinner tonight so there was no need to go to the store. At least not that he could think of at the moment. Instead, Gar decided to spend his days like he spent most of his days; out about town. Except now since he didn't really have plans he could just sit and wander around the park for as long as he pleased!
Gar had his attention suddenly drawn away from the path in front of him as his peripheral vision caught site of one of the local stray cats. He was planning on striding over to the feline friend to give it a friendly greeting pet but tripped up on his own feet before he could. Thankfully he recovered and didn't fall flat on his face, but when he turned back around to be on his way he instead bumped into another person. He didn't fall on his face, but he did stumble, trip again, and fall hard on his butt.
"I'm sorry! I didn't watch where I was going, are you alright?" Gar asked before he had even properly gotten up yet. He'd busied himself with wiping his hands that he skinned a little off on his tan pants before he had even looked up at who he'd bumped into.

Akimi had better days, and today was no exception. The small woman and her publishing agent were called out early in the morning for a meeting with her stand in, who had been growing a worse pain. It was clear to the world that he was a stand in from his utter behaviour, but the world chose not to pry. He felt it insulting that after changing his name to a female one legally and not getting any payment for the credit he was falsely taking was unfair for him. It was explained repeatedly that since he pulled the wool over Akimi's eyes when he tried to get a book published under what was technically and cleverly hidden as her name, and was clearly filled with things she would never write, he lost his meager cut for violating terms of the contract.
The lawyer he brought with him left as soon as he heard that he violated terms of the established contract, as there was no good case for him at this point. Most of the fanbase was well aware that someone as arrogant as the fake could not write the "Prescription for love" trilogy. He was strictly warned that next time he tried to get a lawyer involved, he was to formally ask for a private meeting.
Akimi's day wasn't exactly stellar for the rest, her 'twin' sister Tera was running through the park on her usual jog with her boyfriend's sister, who keeps mistaking Akimi for Tera's younger sister. While twins for years, Akimi's stunted growth and the fact that she still fits in the children's department clothing, Tera had brought her sister a large chocolate\ muffin, that she reluctantly accepted but knew it was meant to silence her anger that usually arises from interactions involving hr height.
She spent the rest of the day wandering around, looking at people and trying to get inspiration for characters, looking at every little action. Her gaze was at a man in a suit carrying what appeared to be a speaker set he just bought into a car after going to a store. "Hmm, A businessman with a secret career as a DJ. His classical musician daughter not approving as his late wife loved dance, creating a conflict." She looked around then and found an elderly lady reading a book. "Elderly lady, waiting for an old lover that had smitten her once more, after the loss of her husband and the distance of her busy family she finds comfort in his arms. Only to learn that one of them is on a limited clock."
Akimi was walking until she had to stop for a moment, out of breath as her chest felt tight, her fingers clasping around her neck as she tried to catch her breath, her foot wobbling. She was almost fine until she felt someone large bump into her, knocking her over.
"Ow, ow, ow." She managed to wheeze through her coughs, she tried to get up but her tiny body seemed to be tired as she fell back down. People on benches or walking by scoffed at the boy though doing nothing to help Akimi, some of them knowing her state as she was a regular here. Two elderly women yelled from a bench. "How rude! Poor girl, what is wrong with you boy! Akimi is small but how dare you just knock her over, poor thing might be in worse pain!" "Oh dear, I hope she doesn't need the hospital, she's a fragile girl, poor thing spent too much time in the hospital.. Although gotta admit, I thought that dog last week would've done her in." "Shouldn't we have done something then?" "Should we do something now?" "I'll put it on the list to give her something later, we live in the same building."

Taking full notice of the girl in front of him, it was obvious Gar hadn't fallen over due to the girl's size; He definitely had just fallen out of clumsiness. Quickly getting up with mild panic but mostly concern, Gar held his hand out in an offer to help her up.
"I'm so sorry I really shoukd have been watching where I was going but I was distracted and oh gosh are you alright? I think I have some band aids in my bag if you scrapped anything?" He quickly rambled, but somehiw he was still able to be heard coherently.
Gar had heard the old ladies on the bench mention how the girl in front if him went to the hospital a lot and that she was fragile. He really hoped he would be the cause of another visit should she have broken anything. Oh that would be terrible and Gar would feel guilty for the rest of the month and then some.

Akimi sighed as the elderly ladies did nothing but talk, but she couldn't blame them for not doing anything. "Hello Mrs. Kurosaki, how's the new knee? Oh, Mrs Ito, has your wrist healed yet?" The elderly ladies were flattered that the girl remembered. "Oh, just fine." "You should focus on yourself sweetie." Akimi noticed the hand reached down for her, but she simply ignored it as she slowly backed away before she tried to stand up on her own, only to slip on her dress and fall back down. "Ow..."
She slowly tried again, and brushed the dust off herself, before she reached into her jacket's inside pocket and pulled out a particular device, her D-Tector Digivice. "Damn thing is a pain to land on. Seems indestructible." she muttered under her breath as she moved it to her right pocket before zipping it up. Falling twice on it was quite the pain, and she hoped that removing the pressure would relieve some pain or at the least help her breath.
The smaller girl looked up at the taller man, and tried to figure out his excuse, she was torn between covered eyes or he was looking elsewhere, she guessed probably both. "I'm fine, I don't need bandaids pain killer or anything, it was just a small fall. I'm Akimi Midoria. Pleasant to meet you."

Gar pulled his hand back to himself once it was clear that Akimi wasn't going to take the help. He was a bit worried it was because of something he said or just the sheer fact he was the reason they fell, but he could dwell on that later. He did take note of that device though. It looked different than his own, but Garret didn't want to bring it to attention right now. At least not in public. He didn't know how Akimi would react to such a question, or any passerby for that matter.
"Ah I'm glad you're alright then! My name is Garret Lang. Call me Gar!" He was about to hold his hand out again for a handshake, but wasn't sure if Akimi would even take it so he let it hand by his side instead. "It's a pleasure to meet you, even if the circumstance is a bit of a mess," He replied, bringing a hand up to scratch his cheek with a short, slightly nervous chuckle.
"Are you sure there's nothing I can do for you? Not even band-aid wise! I just kinda feel bad for causing a scene and would like to make up for it," Gar continued, trailing off near the end as he looked to the side. His cheeks tinted a bit pink in his embarrassment.

Akimi noted that the boy appeared to be persistent with trying to extend his aid for the minor inconvenience. "It's okay. I'm not hurt." However while she was trying to get by on her own, and that included dealing with pain. She adjusted her stance trying to get her footing normal but soon she felt a sudden rush of pain rush through her right foot and all the way up to her thigh, she winced in pain as she bit her lip. "But I do need off my foot, I think I might've twisted it..."
The small girl looked around, trying to find a place to sit down for a while, but the nearest empty bench was a short walk away. Akimi started to slowly make her way over towards the bench, limping greatly before she managed to almost fall over again. "Ow, ow, ow, ouch." Before she finally sat down, sighing relief before rubbing her thigh over her dress. She muttered under her breath "Damn leg, this wouldn't happened as a Sistermon..."
Akimi figured better to make sure that the boy knew that he was not guilty of anything severe. At the very least she can ensure that one of them would leave in a good mood."Look, don't feel bad, I was already having a rough day, you pretty much didn't cause any harm by comparison. By comparison this is, well, very minute. I'm sorry if I was in your way, I had to stop but I was having a brief issue with catching breath so I stopped for a moment."

Despite Akimi's reassurances, Gar didn't look any less concerned and guilty. "You weren't in the way! I mean it's a public path it's not your fault for walking on it! All the blame is on me in this, I should have been watching where I was going but I got distracted then bumped into you and tripped over my own feet and I'm really really sorry!" Gar rambled, holding his hands together in front of his chest, eyes cast down to the side.
His gaze returned to Akimi after a moment. "Are you sure you don't need anything? I mean it would probably be best to get ice on that ankle if you twisted it and you really should keep it elevated not to mention this is in the middle of the park and you shouldn't put pressure on it for awhile even though you probably have places to be-" Gar was going to be rambling for awhile. It's best to either cut him off now or just tune him out before you go mad.

Akimi sighed as she listened to the boy ramble on, not wanting to interrupt him just yet. She was glad he wasn't rude or arrogant, and especially not aggressive about the situation. However she did believe that there was such a thing as over apologizing and reaching too far for rectification. Eventually she raised her hand to face towards the man as she was signaling the man to stop talking, hoping to clear the air. "It's fine, I'm fine, don't worry."
Akimi took a deep breath as she was starting to get a slight headache from the boy so she had to silence him for a moment. Truth be told compared to everything else, he was a splinter after a few hits with a full tree."Compared to everything else today, nearly ended up in a legal dispute because of a surprise attempt at a contract change that can't be changed due to violated terms, my future sister in law having the memory capacity of a standardized calculator, you knocking me over is sorta, mundane." Akimi checked her phone again, and only noted a message from her father, Akimi sighed as she read it and put away her phone. "Today is a bad day for me..."

Gar had thankfully ceased his apologies after the hand motion telling him to stop. He had to admit, after realizing just how much of a tangent he'd gone on, he wouldn't be surprised if he ended up overwhelming Akimi. But bad habits were bad habits and this was just one Gar hadn't worked out of yet.
When he hears her mention legal dispute, and contract however, he comes to the realization that 'Oh, this person is probably older than me,' rather then younger as he had assumed. "I'm sorry to say you're day hasn't been the best. There's a tea shop nearby that I can take you to though! It would probably make for a nice place to stay for a bit as your ankle rest for a moment," Gar replies as he motions to the still twisted ankle with one of his hands briefly. "Of course I could always just, uhm, actually leave now, if you would prefer?" The realization that he'd probably over stayed his welcome in his concern hit him like a tennis ball, and had him a bit more outwardly nervous.
