Valt had noted that Skadi had been doing well, but told him of at a potential tag-team battle with her and Ophelia working together. Surely 2 Champions on one would feel a little unfair to the average bystander, even for an expert like Valt, but a cheeky grin lining his face heavily hinted at a potential surprise waiting for them. That wasn't lost on Kenny, but it didn't stop him from thanking Valt and Ryouta for being willing to train them, flustering the Champion level dragon, and telling him that it was the appreciation was more than worth it, "Heh, it's nothing, man." Kenny smiled and shrugged, "Honestly, it's a good thing that you guys came along and be willing to help us. In fact, I admit I was a little nervous and shy about talking to you guys at first. And yet, Skadi just up and wanted to talk to you, and I willingly went along with it. She's like a moth to flame."
During the battle, the small buzz in his D-3, the burst of energy, and Kenny's excitement didn't seem to be lost on Valt himself, who asked him what caused evolution in a Digimon, Quickly, Kenny calmed down, but he still felt his heart pounding like mad, "Uh... emotion?" He answered. The 2 Digimon he did witness digivolve in front of his eyes was the animalistic Arkadimon, and Skadi herself, both going from In-Training and Rookie, and both of them seemed to be filled with that.
To which, Valt responded that no matter the level a Digimon was, emotions did indeed play a huge role in the digivolution of a Digimon, and as the battle progressed, Kenny could still feel all the emotions buzzing in his head, and the D-3 buzzing like no tomorrow. Instinctively, he pulled the D-3 out, and on it was a dim but glowing white screen, glowing brighter himself. He just gawped. It felt a little familiar to him, "Wait, that's the same thing that happened when Skadi digivolved to Weatherdramon for the first time, but my D-3 just feels a little more intense now." But it was too hard for him to take his eyes off Skadi and Ophelia's battle. It felt intense just watching the 2 go at it, even from a safe distance.
Skadi hadn't felt this natural flow of energy inside of her for a long while now. It felt oddly familiar, akin to the time she digivolved from her teensy, defenceless Mallimon form to her capable, and energetic Valaismon form. It was practically radiating through her at this point, especially with that powerful stomp summoning the pillar, as she jumped back to watch the magic happen, and to ready herself for Ophelia's next strike. She watched as Ophelia jumped into the air to dodge the spire, and created a pair of bucklers on her arms to break it. The sheep Digimon did give a small smirk as the spire broke into a usable platform and landed on it, but not before showering Ophelia with the shards. "Clever girl." She could only say to the Champion level.
Ophelia would then jump from the pillar to attack Skadi with a powerful kick, just as (what remained of) the pillar retracted into the ground once again the second she leapt off. Skadi readied herself with another Echo Bleat to try and knock her off course, but before she could get a single word out, Ophelia kicked her cleanly across the chest, sending her flying once again, and tumbling across the floor.
Maybe that wasn't one of Skadi's best ideas.
She groaned a little in pain from the impact, and was struggling to get up. She couldn't just quit now. She proposed she wouldn't let Valt down, she wouldn't let Kenny down, she'd let nobody down. And yet, she still felt that burst of energy flowing through her. She didn't want to quit now. She had to keep going.
Kenny winced a little as Skadi was kicked back. That really had to hurt. And as he noticed Skadi groan in pain. He called out to his poor partner as he clutched his D-3 tightly, "Skadi! Don't give up just yet! I know you can win!" All the while, the D-3 buzzed even louder than before, and the screen was now glowing a bright blinding white. And good lord, he could feel the buzz now.
It was then that Skadi had managed to finally pull herself up again, and turned her head to her partner, "Don't worry, pal. I wasn't thinking of doing that just yet. In fact, I'm just getting started." She then turned back to Ophelia, feeling the energy spread throughout all her body, flowing freely. "So, you wanna see my next stage, huh? I think you might be in for a surprise." She chuckled. And this time, instead of her horns glowing, her enitre body started to glow white, as the D-3 was now buzzing louder than ever, and the screen was practically shining, and then, a flow of data shot out of the Digivice, and Kenny could only watch as it happened, as his partner was engulfed by a bright shining light, not too dissimilar to last time Skadi digivolved to her next form for the first time.
"Valaismon, digivolve to..." Once again, her body grew in size, but where the jump from Mallimon to Valaismon basically consisted of a few inches more, this time, Skadi had practically ballooned in size as she bended over to accommodate her new form. Her hands transformed into a new pair of strong front hooves, and her back ones had similarly jumped in strength. A pair of big silver anklets formed on her ankles as the woolly collars disappeared, and her tiny horns grew large in size, spanning from her neck, and hanging to her back. Her ears still remained black, but a small bell necklace formed onto her neck, and her bangs still covered her eyes, but a confident smirk was now adorning her face.
As the light dispersed again, her new form was practically looking at Ophelia, with a face that practically screamed 'bring it'. With that, she let out another triumphant bleat like before, before she announced her new forms name, "CANANDENMON!!!" With her second wind, she scraped the floor with one of her front hooves.
Kenny had watched the digivolution with sheer awe this time. And unlike last time, he was not withering in pain courtesy of a Digimon. He could witness it all in real time without having to moan in pain, or feel his world blanking out. He loudly slammed his open hands on the glass with excitement, "SKADI YOU DID IT! YOU DID IT! YOU REACHED YOUR CHAMPION FORM! OH SWEET JESUS CHRIST I'M SO HAPPY!" He yelled excitedly, before attempting to throw his arms over Valt for a hug. There was no denying the excitement he had. With Skadi's digivolution meant that Valt could now go and invite the duo to join KIZNA. Although probably throwing his arms around a giant dragon that could snap his spine in two with just one hand probably wasn't a good idea.
Over in the arena, Skadi just chuckled proudly as she looked at them again, "No, Kenny. We did it. Thank you." She grinned at them, before she turned to Ophelia. With a sly grin, she bleated loudly again, but instead of shockwaves coming out, Skadi felt a lot of invigoration inside of her, and a newfound feeling of power inside of her. And it sounded so confident too. She had a lot to be proud of, and she was willing to show it.
With the bleat finished, she started charging at Ophelia at high speeds, and as soon as she got close, she would try to pounce on Ophelia to knock her down with a normal headbutt. Now the fight was really on, and if Ophelia thought she saw everything Skadi had to offer, she would have to think again.
Skadi gets kicked onto the floor, but an encouraging cheer from Kenny has finally allowed her to finally digivolve to Canandenmon for the first time. She lets out a confident Battlecry to increase her attack and speed, before charging in for a basic headbutt attack.
Battlecry: Skadi bleats loudly and proudly, but this time around, instead of causing damage, her bleats are very invigorating, giving herself and up to 2 allies within earshot 30% more attack and 10% more speed for the next 3 posts. Skadi can select which 2 allies will get the boost if there is more than 3. (3 post cooldown)
