The snowy mountains of the Northern Prominence seemed surprisingly peaceful at a distance. From the sky, it looked as though nobody had ventured the mountains in days. With little breeze, the snow fell almost uninterrupted. Surely, at ground level, the world would seem less serene, but for now, it could be enjoyed.
A large crow circled above, debating the best path to its landing spot. Did it really want to land? To deal with the reality of things? It was a shame to think that the Digital World couldn't even enable the type of escape that the spirit wielder likely needed right now. After a few more moments passed, the bird lowered itself to the ground. With a final beat of its wings, snow scattered away from the Yatagaramon's feet.
It certainly wasn't as flashy of an entrance as a sports car, but it would have to do.
Smoke began to unfurl from the beast's feathers, as the creature began to shrink in size. Soon, the human behind the spirit was standing in one of the imprints left by their monster. Purple tipped wings were the last piece of the evolution to vanish, as black feathers fell away and vanished much like the smoke that had been the majority of the dissolution of the spirit.
The transition could probably still use a little work. But, he was making progress with molding it.
Pulling up his hood, Asher pressed his lips tightly together. Teeth clenched, while the teen took a deep breath. With a small, "tch," he relaxed his jaw, and stuffed hands into his sweater's pockets. He had agreed to meet at this place, right? There weren't many distinguishing features to the area; hopefully he hadn't mistaken the meeting spot. Either way, a calm smile would fall onto his lips, awaiting the company he had promised to see.
Soon, surely.

The main gift of a place like this was that Junjo could practically smell the hot cider simmering in a copper pot and soft gingerbread cookies baking in the oven! He loved snow, because snow in his world usually meant Holidays!
Though, it would've been nice if he could've brought some snowshoes or something. He could hear his Spirit's voices in his head now. You could've flown here, Baka. from Sprixiemon and a Junjo, you're going to freeze. Allow me to carry your burden. from Kimorimon, but he liked the idea of saving his energy in case he had to fight. That was why he was out here after all. That and he wanted to see Asher.
Speaking of attractive redheads, there he was, standing or shivering really in the snow as he peered around for the bright eyed rookie.
"Hey~ Asher! I'm here!" He was toting along lots of bags, must've been shopping in the village nearby. He waltzed up with a bounce in each step and grinned.
"Sorry I'm late, I got carried away by the souvenir's in the gift shop." Yes, this place had a gift shop, somewhere, and Junjo had found it.

It was pretty cold, wasn't it? For the first several minutes after turning back to his human form, the teen didn't notice. Then, as time progressed, he could feel his skin tinting pink from the chill, and it felt like the clouds his breath caused were only growing in size. Perhaps, only a sweater was an ill choice.
Luckily, the wait wasn't too long before his company had arrived. A relief. Had Junjo taken too much longer, Asher probably would have frozen from the cold! Or, maybe, just digivolved into something with feathers or fur. Like a smart person would.
"Gift shop?" Asher found himself questioning, slowly. Was the cold freezing away at his mind? Where the heck did Junjo find a gift shop, of all things? And what type of person bought souvenirs at the beginning of a trip? What an odd person. "Hopefully nothing fragile! It would be a shame if anything broke," the teen commented, gently.
He didn't want to discourage Junjo from his purchases, after all. But, he also didn't want the other young man to get distraught in the case of broken toys. Or, whatever was in the bag.
Standing in the remains of a large bird[mon]'s footprint, the redhead kept his hands stuffed into his pockets for warmth. "You wanted to work on getting stronger, or something, right?" For a moment, the redhead would need reaffirmation on such a thing. While he thought that had been the purpose of this trip into [what he thought had been] the middle of nowhere, now the souvenirs made him wonder if they were supposed to go sightseeing instead! Not... that Asher actually saw anything nearby to be sightseeing. But, apparently Junjo had a rare skill of hunting down places to buy things!
Either way, the teen would want an answer sooner, rather than later. Otherwise, he was going to freeze!

Junjo blushed. "Oh, no no, nothing like that. Everything I bought is quite sturdy!" He smiled warmly and held out an orange bag to his friend. "Actually, I kinda knew you'd be standing out here in something too sheer, so, I bought you this. It'll keep you really warm!"
Inside of said bag was a bright orange, puffy jacket, lined with thick, soft fur, and in the pocket of it would be a little digivice charm that looked like a pancake with a smiley face on it. "I thought it was cute."
He brought himself back to the important topic at hand. "Oh! Well I thought that the caves here would be a great place to train, y'know, dark, scary, cold (and a great place to cuddle up if they got cold). And then I found out that through one of the caves there's a whole town!"

Junjo was an anomaly. Asher couldn't deny that. And... that was saying something, coming from Asher of all people! Especially as he found himself staring at the orange jacket, trying to process what was going on. "Like," he paused, gingerly reaching out to take the item, "a gift?" Was he supposed to give the jacket back afterward? He wasn't entirely sure yet. Was Junjo his size in clothes?
Also unsure.
But, whatever worked. He wasn't going to let the other man feel like the item was going to waste! So, he'd quickly put it on, and give a small, "thanks," either way!
And, with the mention of cold inside the cave, Asher was a little more glad about the jacket. Still, he hadn't found the pancake charm yet. Give the dense boy some time! "So, should I guess that means the caves are a bad place for training?" Unless Junjo had found a better place!
...But, weren't the caves kind of dangerous for him to be exploring alone? Not that Asher had a lot of room to talk since half of his journies were solo, but still! Junjo didn't have the same experience! It was bad to say that he lacked much faith in the new spirit user, but it was pretty obvious that the teal haired man was still a bit... green, so to say. No pun intended!

Asher hadn't seemed to notice the charm yet, which was fine considering it had been tucked away in a pocket. At some point the redhead would shove his hands into the coat and find it, right? Jun decided not to mention it.
He nodded his head. "Yeah, the cave might be more extreme than I'm ready for, unfortunately." He grinned all the same and waved a blue mitten towards the cave he had come out of.
"But~ the town I found has this massive Hotsprings and some interesting terrain. We can train there and then not freeze too much. The locals all seemed happy enough to allow it too." He turned on his heels and started to march.
"Come on, let me show you." He marched towards the small, almost indiscernible hole in the side of the mountain and walked through it into the dark. "Oh, hold on." He closed his eyes and spoke softly. "Spirit Evolution." A warm, green light surrounded him and in the absence of it and some fractal ribbons floated Sprixiemon.
"Lucky for you, my fairies will light up this cave no problem." The little Digimon stuck out it's tongue before floating on. "Stay close fairies, its freezing! You too Red!" He insisted as he hugged himself tightly. Sprixiemon wondered why he couldn't have kept the coat his other half was wearing in this scenario, but it had simply disappeared during the digivolution process.

Eventually, the charm would probably come as quite the charming surprise! Unfortunately, Asher was also Asher, and too busy making sure the other person in this conversation was taken care of, instead of worrying about frostbitten fingers!
Listening to the find, the redhead gave a half-smile. "How'd you find this place so fast? You weren't waiting around here for too long, were you?" Did Asher get the time wrong to meet up? Had Junjo been waiting for literal hours beforehand? Did he leave his friend out in the middle of the cold, digital world, from a dumb mistake?
In reality, it was probably that Junjo had arrived far earlier than necessary. But it was important to be concerned in a moment like this! It would be awful is Asher was a bad guy here, and Junjo was just pretending everything was fine and dandy!
And, the closer he followed to the mystery cave, the more concerned he grew on how long Junjo had been waiting. How had he even noticed this place? Maybe, the teal haired man was just really perceptive. Hopefully. Or, maybe it had something to do with the other person's spirits. It was really a mystery to him!
Thinking of spirits, soon, Junjo was replaced with one! "Maybe we should have brought a flashlight," the redhead teased to the Sprixiemon. Surely, the spirit wouldn't appreciate the comment, but hey, it was better than just letting him get called Red, right? What was Asher, a Pokemon protagonist? Wrong franchise!
With any luck, they'd be able to get to the new location with relative ease, so that the teen could go back to being called by his actual name! For now, he'd finally stuff his hands into the padded pockets of the jacket, only to scrunch his face, and withdraw the long-awaited charm. There was a pause in his step, while giving a curious hum, and lifting the item close to his glasses. Soon, he'd follow again, with a small comment of, "I could actually go for pancakes right now," jokingly, before tucking the item safely back into the pocket.

Though Sprixiemon was the one driving, or rather flying right now, inner Junjo was overjoyed to hear the other spirit user's pancake comment. That meant he found the charm, and hopefully that he liked it.
Sprixiemon's fairies continued to light the way through the cave.
"I was, er, we were here early, we didn't wanna be late." The Digimon insisted.
"Don't need a flashlight when you've got me! I mean us!"
The fairy Digimon lead them to a small opening with light pouring through from the end of the cave, and through the other side, sure enough there was a village, bustling with Digimon and even a few humans. The snow still fell heavily but the citizens there seemed more than used to the wild and frigid weather.
A chill ran over Sprixiemon's spine and he shivered, hugging himself to try and stay warm. "Okay, that's it for now, bye-bye!"
A soft green light enveloped the mon, leaving Junjo and his warm jacket in its place.
"Isn't this little town the coolest thing ever, Asher?!"

It was interesting to hear the spirit speak as if Junjo and Sprixiemon had intent of arriving to this place. On the rarity that any of Asher's spirits had spoken, they'd seemed quite singular. As in, Asher wasn't involved in their choices and they weren't in his! Maybe, that was a sign that Junjo had a better connection with his spirit, though. One could only hope.
Once they reached the village, the redhead gave the digimon a friendly smile at the idea of it leaving. "Bye-bye," he echoed, with a small wave. Did he seem too excited to see the sprite leave? Hopefully it wasn't too obvious! But, there was quite a difference between being called Red and being called by his actual name!
Which, hearing his name was a bit of a relief after that thought! "Yeah, I wonder how they found this area." It was interesting, for sure! Asher wouldn't have thought a village would have popped up here, but he supposed it shouldn't actually be much of a surprise!
"So, where do you want to go to first?" Since Junjo knew the place a little better, from his trip earlier that day, surely he had some plans on where he wanted to take Asher! Would they train first? Or start with the relaxing trip to the hotsprings? Or did the teal haired man have other plans for them?
Surely, he wouldn't leave the redhead in suspense for too long! After all, two humans just standing at the entrance to the village would probably make digimons' heads turn eventually, right? Even if they were friendly to humans, nobody wanted to draw too much attention to themselves! It would just make them look weird.

Junjo was enamored with the atmosphere that this snowy village portrayed. He felt like he could spend an eternity here, maybe even open a cute little inn and become the first, he assumed, human innkeeper in the digital world!
He grinned from cheek to cheek as Asher asked what was on the agenda, full of excitement he grabbed for Asher's hand in hopes to lead him to their first stop!
Whether he got to hold the redhead's hand or not, he began to lead them to a red-roofed shop with a delectable smell wafting from the stream it puffed out in its might smoke stack. Outside of the shop was a blue dinosaur looking digimon that stood rather tall and wore a chef's apron.
"Mr. Growlmon!" He halted in front of the frosty looking lizard and motioned to Asher. "This is my friend Asher that I was talking about. Well, what about it? Can we try your awesome Ramen now?!"
The digimon looked curiously at Asher and leaned forward to sniff at him. "Firstly, its Mr BLUEgrowlmon, kid, secondly..." He grew silent, pausing in a stoic stance.
"I'm glad you asked!" His voice echoed in a boisterous tone now as he pulled back the curtain to let them inside.
"I've been eager to test this new recipe on some hungry mouths that haven't already grown accustomed to soup and the like." The digimon's voice was gruff and worn, like he'd been here cooking Ramen for awhile.
It looked at Asher. "So, what'll it be. I'm sure whatever you've got in human land I can make even better!"

Considering Asher had no reason not to be led around like a puppy on a leash, the redhead let the young man drag lead him by the hand. It was definitely snowy. And cold. Hindsight, perhaps he shouldn't have let the teal-haired man expose their skin to bitter weathers! It was too late now, though, and Asher wasn't about to risk his ego to say his fingers were chilly!
Soon, he'd be led to a red shop, that was immediately identified as a food place based from smell alone. Nobody could really complain about food, right? This was only further confirmed, as Junjo began speaking to the chilly lizard that apparently made amazing ramen! "Hi," he commented, giving a wave with his free hand. Not that the lizard had really acknowledged the introduction, but it wasn't like the spirit user minded all that much!
Except, now it was apparently a moment where Asher was destined to pick food. And honestly? He had absolutely no idea what to expect from a ramen place! He was clueless! "Well," the young man gave an awkward grin, while glancing at Junjo. "I have no idea!" God forbid, anyone find out that the only ramen Asher was familiar with was the microwave kind! He usually ordered random things at restaurants! Trying to refrain from being too obvious about what level of 'foreigner' he was, the redhead had no choice but to deflect.
"What do you think, Junjun?" Ah yes. Make the other guy pick everything. Easy. "How about you pick something for both of us?"
Nothing could go wrong with making someone else pick his food! Right?

Junjo was still pretty stoked that Asher let him take his hand to lead him into the restaurant. He was still beaming over that when he was addressed so directly as to what the red haired male should be eating.
But that was so much pressure! What if he picked something and Asher hated it? He tapped his index finger to his chin deep in thought, trying to think of what Asher would like.
BlueGrowlmon got a bit annoyed and let out an agitated sigh. "You kids are lucky I don't have much business right now...c'mon boys what'll it be?"
"Sorry Mr.Bluegrowlmon!" Junjo bowed his head after he swallowed air, the digimon's stance intimidating him.
"W-well, how about the triple beef Udon with boiled eggs, nori, and tempura flakes? Um, two servings of that please!"
The digimon grinned. "Now you're talkin'! Comin' right up ya little whipper snappers!"
Junjo looked to Asher. "I hope you like beef Asher...i-if not we can order you something else!"

While Junjo likely was overthinking everything related to the order and outing in general, Asher took the moment to look around the little shop. It was always a wonder, what things a Digimon-run establishment would hold, wasn't it? At the same time, a bit of a wonder on how similar they could be to the human world. It was hard to even say that the Digital shops and restaurants were more quirky, sometimes!
Listening to the interaction, an eyebrow raised. That seemed like an oddly specific order! But, whatever! He'd let someone else choose for him, after all. And nobody was going to make a single complaint about it! Unless, of course, it came out tasting more than questionable.
"Whipper Snappers?" Asher felt the need to quietly echo in Junjo's ear. "How old is he?" A joke? Or a legitimate question? Well, maybe it was a bit of both, in all honesty!
That said, there was a pause. "How old are you?" This time, directed at the other spirit user! "I don't think I've ever asked!" This was followed up with a small laugh, and shrug. He could make a solid assumption that the teal haired man was roughly his age. But how different were they, actually?
Either way, to the worried of the other man, Asher just waved a hand dismissively. "I'm not picky about most food. Beef's fine." Would he have really let Junjo order without giving a warning, at least? ...Well, actually, it was plenty valid for Junjo to have that concern, because yes. Yes he would have. Luckily that wasn't an issue here, though! So they wouldn't need to scramble for a second order!
But would they just keep standing in the shop, or would they find a place to sit? Being the newbie to this establishment, the redhead would just wait to follow his companion's lead!

Junjo -was- overthinking everything. Though he hadn't admitted out loud, in his mind this was essentially a date, that he dragged his favorite redhead to, so he wanted everything to be perfect! Even if Asher didn't know it Junjo would never forgive himself if he messed this up!
The teal haired human blushed at Asher's question. "I'm not really sure! Do Digimon even age really?..." He shrugged his shoulders and then turned even more red. He never told Asher how old he was?!
"Ah, I'm sorry! I just turned 18 in August--b-but I promise I'm really mature for my age!" He rubbed the back of his head, letting out a nervous chuckle before he calmed down. He didn't even comment on the beef, but he was glad that Asher would be okay with it.
"A-anyway, it'll probably be a few more minutes before the food is ready. Let's uh, get a table?" Jun was sure that he didn't need to ask it as a question, but what if the redhead had decided he wanted to stand and eat at the bar? Despite this thought he motioned to a table off in the corner of the restaurant that was decorated with a couple of small table plants and some festive looking mats.

Did Digimon age? It was really a question he should bring up with Whiskers. She'd probably know! Or mock him. One of the two! In fact, he didn't even know the cat Digimon's age, or any semblance of what it could be! Could Whiskers actually be ancient, having lived since the early ages of the Digital World, itself? ...Considering the cat-speak, most definitely not. "I mean, they probably do. They're pretty similar to humans, a lot of the time."
At least he could know with certainty that humans aged, and that Junjo was absolutely not a centuries-old entity pretending to be a dumb cat. He was just a really awkward human! Mature for his age, huh? "Oh, that's cool. We're the same age, then." Was Asher considered mature for his age? Did the teal haired man think that he was notably older? So many questions, but perhaps not the best person to ask. Junjo was clearly already anxious enough, as-is! The redhead wasn't going to try to add more nerves to the pile! For now, at least.
"Yeah, sure," the spirit user nodded, following Junjo toward the table of his choice. He really didn't care if he was at a bar or at a table, as long as he wasn't stuck outside in the cold while waiting for food! Once they reached the table, he'd wait for Junjo to sit, and then follow suit.
Luckily, he couldn't imagine food would take particularly long. Especially since it didn't seem to be overly busy in this little place! "Aside from shopping before I got here, did you do anything else?" Surely, Junjo didn't just spot a gift shop and only visit it and this place, right?
That actually led to another question, though! "If you were here earlier, did you already eat once?"
