Once again, Zachary and his Panthermon companion found themselves in another fine mess... one that felt like torture, misery and the desire to die. It started so simply with a simple plan by Starmon, their 'friend' and employer while Zachary worked at his card shop. The star-eyed Digimon was always trying to do more things to get his shop noticed. When he heard that Terminus was holding a super fun new show and participants to help advertise his shop-- he had an ingenius idea. Send Zachary and his partner to participate and sponsor the shop by 'participating' in this wacky project.
After Starmon talked to the host of the little project-- he immediately volunteered the human and his imagined Digimon to participate.
Now, both of them stood in a dark space waiting. Zachary had a nervous tick as his grip flexed and tightened every few seconds. Sweat was on his brow. Beside him, Panthermon stood quietly-- but with an upset and displeased disposition showing on his cat-like face.
"The next time I get my claws on Starmon, I am sending him into orbit!" he growled. "He is sadistic. He is absolutely sadistic."
Zachary sighed as he tried to keep calm. A part of him was worried how he would perform, while another thought it could be fun-- but the details were very unclear, specifically what would they be doing. He took off his goggles and ran his fingers through his hair to try and straighten it out. He didn't think this kind of thing would be in Terminus-- let alone the Digital World.
"I know its not ideal, Panthermon," Zachary said as he reached down and patted him on the head to calm his friend. "But this could be a lot of fun. I seen this stuff on Television. It really can be entertaining and besides, Starmon will pay us for it. "
The Panthermon just glanced away, despite the appreciated scratch behind his ears. "Our talents are better used elsewhere than this--"
A sudden roar of applause began to sound out as they knew the time was coming. Panthermon growled once more as he became nervous by the growing crowd. Soon a voice boomed to life around them in the dark.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMON! THIS... IS... SPLASHBOMB!!"
Light erupted around them as the curtains went up...
... and soon Zachary and Panthermon, along with others stood on a stage surrounded by a mass of cheering fans. Some were digimon, other humans, and other creatures that were difficult to see as the studio lights shined on them. He could barely see who was there-- but that might of been a blessing to avoid stage fright.
The entire arena was colored with a variety of bright contraptions-- data points all over meant to materialize new items, kind of like how the digivice used cards to change the terrain.
Zachary soon realized he wasn't alone as he soon saw others along on the platform with himself and Panthermon. One was a Leomon, a Gomamon, A Piximon, and a few other humans. Perhaps they were partners, perhaps not.
Before Zachary could even enquire-- a booming voice soon blared over the speakers and a large screen in the backlit up.
"WELCOME TO OUR REVOLUTIONARY DIGISHOW!" A voice blared up close-- only a mouth up close-- till it pushed away to see an odd duo. On the one who had gott up close to the camera, was a strange creature. A round, little digimon astride a floating crane-like device, with two large arms and a display similar to a slot machine. It used it to fly around as it looked like some sort of carnival toy. "I am your host, Catch Mamemon, here to welcome you all to our grand premier. We are showing grand feats, funny scenes and great prizes for our friends participating. "
"Don't forget me! And we are both Co-hosts, smarty pants!" Another voice blared-- as a second Digimon appeared on the monitor. Big surprise there... a large Starmon appeared. But unlike the one they knew, this one was a bright golden color with large Sunglasses over his 'face'. "My fellow Co-host and I are both here and we will be bringing you things that cannot be missed. Now, ready for some fun, everyone?!"
Letters of 'cheer' flashed on the screen-- and the audience cheered in excitement to be on cue.
Zachary turned to his Digivice and looked at the info that displayed. "Well no surprise there. Superstarmon. Probably a friend to our Starmon and how he got us to play this game," Zachary said as he looked at the brief data, and then scrolled to the next. "The other is Catch Mamemon. That one is new. It uses its lift to help move data around. "
"Now... we have gathered many contestants across the digital world to try our obstacle course... and maybe earn us some laughs along the way. Are you already!?" SuperStarmon called out, causing another roar of applause.
The light soon glared on a large obstacle course that stretched out along the arena-- most of it padded and cushioned. As the rest of the data formed-- it revealed to be elevated, suspended in space all on its own. Finally below- was a large pool of water with ladders and platforms to allow people to swim and climb up out of. What was tricky was some of the obstacles moved in patterns, encouraging people to jump at right times or avoid getting hit.
"Is this a joke?" Panthermon asked, looking at the obstacle course. Even the other contestants weren't sure what to expect.
IT was then that CatchMamemon made a grand floating pattern into the arena as the camera on the mega screen followed him closely. "The rules are simple for this round. Each one of you must travel across the obstacle course, TRY to avoid the traps and hurdles, and make it to the end of the goal. Each person's score is determined by how fast you can clear the course. If you fall into the water below, you will not be penalized... but you are encouraged to move as fast as possible. THe best of you will be selected by how you cross the course to the next round!"
