Little Amelie couldn't complain about her current situation; well... maybe a bit? Truth was that neither mister nor misses felt like giving their names. Rude? Kinda, but the small brunette was willing to overlook that for the sake of her new friends. That's what friends did for others, right? In any case...
She shook her head at Akemi's words, the flame of the lighter illuminating her face. "Why would I light anything on fire? That's dangerous. Fire is dangerous!" An obvious comment, but it seemed like the obvious answer to that question. After that, she turned to face Asher. "He uh... he actually doesn't use this lighter a whole lot."
The girl then made a pause, as if looking thoughtful "I'm sure I know how they're called, just give a sec." If her expression was anything to go by, she was thinking very hard. "Spills! He usually lights his stuff with spills. That's why I could get dad's lighter without him noticing!"
She seemed to be very proud of her reasoning. Could it be that this Amy was already a small bandit? It seemed like it! She gave Akemi a nod before following after her. It was just then when yet another question followed suit. For a group that refused to even give out their names, the young brunette's new friends were very inquisitive!
"Well... it's late at night? Isn't it dark when it's late at night in your house, mister?" One would've thought that the question was delivered as sarcasm, but little Amy was genuinely curious about how her friends' houses looked at night. Maybe they were quite bright! In any case... "But I can turn on the lights if you want me to! I just thought it'd be more exciting this way. Do you want me to?"
A rather weird mindset, but this was Amelie, after all. Something like this wouldn't be above her adult self either.

This seemed real. This seemed real, but maybe that's what the mind wanted to believe. In truth, even Akemi was unsure what exactly was concrete in this realm. "Exactly." She said, giving the smaller Amy a pat on the head. "Fires can be dangerous, so don't go starting any. Especially here, okay?"
...
Yeah, she was unsure what to make of this whole lighter deal, either. "I...Uh..." Anzu began. "What's a spill?" This was an unfortunately foreign concept to her, so someone might need to actually explain this to the bean. Akemi glanced in the direction of small Amy, before looking to Asher. "Oh, it's...late? What time is it? Turning the lights on would be nice, though."
This is definitely on brand for Amy in general, now that Akemi thought it over.

At least the tiny Amy was well aware the dangers of fire. But, now, everyone seemed to be contemplating what a spill was, aside from the small brunette! Scrunching his nose a little, the redhead gave a moment of pause, before opening his mouth. "Like, the rolled papers, or whatever, from old movies?" Giving a small gesture as if lighting an invisible, stick-like item on a candle, the ex-actor continued to pretend to use the item on an imaginary pipe, and then shake out the 'flame' that would have been on the stick. Which, perhaps, would have been a little better portrayed in higher lighting than... well, a lighter. But, whatever. Make do with what you can, or something like that! But frankly, he didn't really know the purpose behind those sorts of 'spills,' aside from maybe not burning one's fingers in certain situations.
Either that, or Amy's dad could make spilled liquid combust. Which, frankly, was a lot more concerning. And definitely possible in a mystery realm like this. Asher was just going to hope that he had been thinking of the definition for the right thing.
"I guess it's dark if everyone's asleep," he commented, at the newest question that the pint-sized Amy asked. "But, we have lights in the hallway so that we don't trip." Was that normal? Asher wasn't really sure. What he was sure of, was that his step-mom was awful at navigating houses in the dark. "Aren't you afraid of the dark?" Weren't little kids usually afraid of the dark?
In fact, just asking that question made Asher realize he wasn't too thrilled to be in such poor lighting. Luckily, Akemi would cover that part of the subject before Asher had to be the one to ask for better vision. While waiting for the 'excitement' of being stuck in the dark to go away, the redhead looked to Akemi, "it's going on five. So I guess it's more... early, now, isn't it?" Unless Mini-Amy said otherwise, that was.
Which also meant that the current goal would be to get breakfast, right? Hopefully, the food wasn't sitting on the counter or getting stale, before Little Amy would get to it. How long had she even been stuck in her room, anyway?

Little Amy nodded fiercely at what her new friend said. She agreed with that statement wholeheartedly! "Yup! Fire is very dangerous! I once met a girl who had more or less half of her body burned. It was... not a pretty sight." With any luck, nobody would emerge from this small venture in such a state; that'd be less than ideal.
At least everyone understood that fire was a dangerous thing. Essential for the survival of most human beings! It was then when the topic shifted towards spills. What were they, and what purpose did they serve when lighting pipes? Being the child of the person who used them, that was easy to answer!
The petite brunette smiled brightly. Knowing things that her new, grown-up friends didn't made her feel smart. "Almost, but not quite!" She responded. "At least the ones that Dad uses are made out of cedar. They're quite fancy! And that's why I don't dare to go near them." Too much information? Probably, but it was obvious that the small girl was more than excited to have company, and that she was as much of a chatterbox as her grown-up version.
Afraid of the dark? She shook her head at the question. "Why would I be afraid? The dark can't harm you, unless you trip with something you didn't see. But tripping happens even with the lights on." Maybe she was thinking about the question more than what she should? It was hard to say.
However, it seemed like neither person present was thrilled by the idea of having a lighter as their only light source; oh well. Little Amy frowned for a split second before closing the lighter and reaching the light switch that was conveniently in the wall just beside her. With a simple click, the lights were turned on.
Were they?
That click had done more than bringing light to the otherwise dark room. What had been a normal hallway had changed drastically as well. It suddenly looked way bigger and... warped, for the lack of a better word; the atmosphere had gotten heavier as a pink hue that everyone present probably recognized began to streak the walls, the floor, and the ceiling.
Good-ish news? Besides that, no further changes could be seen. After that peculiar transformation, little Amy beamed at her two friends. "There you go, we have light now! Can we continue now? I'm getting so hungry..."

Oh. Ooooh. Those things. "I think I saw a cartoon with a dumb cat and a bastard mouse with those once..." Anzu muttered quietly to herself, like a rather normal person. Akemi, meanwhile, was getting a bit of perspective into just how...eccentric Amelie was. Yet the small girl seemed about as lonely as someone else she knew.
...No wonder she was so excited to have company. As the lights came on, the duo noted how that familiar...pink hue began to treak the area. Anzu flew over to tap one of the streaks of light on the wall, while Akemi nodded to the little Amelie. "Yeah, we can. How...long has it been since you last ate, Amy?" She inquired, mostly out of curiosity.

A girl with burns? That... didn't really sound pleasant. Hopefully, the girl was okay. On the bright side of such a gloomy subject, it seemed that Amy definitely knew the dangers of fire! If one could really call that a bright side at all! But, the more he listened, the more concerned Asher felt about anything that the tiny version of his girlfriend had to say.
He really hoped this wasn't any sort of perspective on Amy's actual childhood.
Biting his lower lip, the redhead couldn't help but reach out and pat the tiny brunette on the head. Maybe something said had struck a nerve with him, but it was more than obvious that he was growing progressively more tense. And, it seemed that tenseness did not lighten up when the house did!
"Some people are afraid of monsters living in the dark, or something. I guess they're not really afraid of the dark itself, usually." Granted, Asher was now fairly certain that he was more comfortable in the dark, instead of in this pink-stained home. That's what they deserved for wanting to see better!
Maybe it was a random question, but Asher couldn't help but ask, "what's your favorite color, anyway?" Why was the world pink? He couldn't help but hope that it was pink, and that the family had decided to humor her with colorful lightbulbs. At least with Anzu trying to interact with the light streaks, he knew he wasn't just hallucinating the color!
With Akemi asking how long it had been since her last meal, as they continued on, Asher tried to force himself to relax a bit, and join into the conversation somehow. With any luck, Little Amy would provide Akemi with a not-terrible answer. "Do you know what kind of food your mom left?"

Little Amy couldn't help but blushing very, very brightly as soon as Asher placed his hand on her head and patted her. It should be obvious that if a person is crushing on you, doing that kind of stuff should totally be illegal! The small brunette could barely keep an even face after that, or even process the questions flung her way until a while had passed.
"Um, mister..." She seemed to still be stuttering a bit, even if the her voice seemed to harden right afterward. "Monsters don't exist. Or... if they do, they don't care if it's dark or not."
What did she exactly mean? At least the question served to snap her off her blushy stupor, and after that initial, strange twist in her expression, she was smiling again. "But those aren't so bad, mister! You just have to do what they say and behave like they want you to, and then they're mostly fine. No reason to be afraid of something like that, right?"
If one looked closely, they'd be able to notice that the girl's smile was just a little bit crooked, at least for the small bit of time that the aftermath of those words lasted. Once the light was turned and the environment changed, little Amy was back to her usual, cheery self. That also meant she was ready to answer her new friends' questions!
"I don't... know. Yesterday, maybe?" Was what she replied to Akemi. "I feel like I shouldn't be hungry, but I am. Is that bad?"
As Anzu tried to interact with one of the many pink streaks that littered the area, she'd feel a small jolt of electricity coursing through her body, immediately followed by a fiery flash projected directly into her mind's eye. Somewhat intense, even if it lasted for a split second.
Back with the humans... "Yup! Pink's my favorite color! The brighter, the better!" Was it a coincidence that a hue of said color was overflowing the area? Maybe. "And... I think she said something about a..." She made a pause, almost as if she were struggling with the word. "Lobster, I think? I'm not sure! Why do you ask? Do you want some lobster too, mister?"
As they advanced, the end of the hallway would be rather obvious, even if probably not quite what everyone expected it to be. A robust stone door that looked to be centuries, if not millennia old. And, if any more confirmation was needed, the word K I T C H E N was etched on it. It didn't manage to make it any less suspicious, though!
"Look, it seems like we're almost there!"

Opinions on headpats aside, there was obviously some form of mystery to unravel here. Having moved past the...subject of the girl with the burns (The Amaya really hoped she was fine...), Akemi glanced around and silently wondered if she was the only one seeing these pink streaks, while Anzu recoiled in intense amounts of discomfort. What the fuck was that supposed to be, yikes.
"I'm...not sure, honestly..." She uttered. Did she...see something off with Amy's smile? "My favorite color's actually purple, but...I do like pink." Akemi stated with a nod towards little Amy, while Anzu flew in the direction of the...stone door. "Hey, this looks -super- off compared to everything else. Uh...I'm going to be cautious and say we go in together here."
...With that, Akemi moved up to the door. Didn't take a detective to guess she was ready to find out whatever the hell was behind that. "Come on, let's get you some food." She glanced to Asher with a l o t of concern on her face. Concern towards this whole shebang, likely.

While it hadn't been Asher's intent to break any laws via headpats, it seemed that everyone felt uncomfortable in some way or another! Amy, by rules of embarrassment. Everyone else? The creepy expression that tiny Amy gave with her response. Oh wow, that was unsettling. Let's not. Ever again.
"I guess I'm just bad at following rules," he shrugged, avoiding making any indicator of his concern about the small Amy. At least this was affirming to him more that the child they were interacting with likely had no actual relation to Amy's childhood. Or, at least, now he was extremely hoping it didn't! For so many reasons!
Either way, if monsters were real in whatever reality this was, and they expected someone to obey, he could only imagine that the group was in for a world of trouble. If not due to him, probably due to a certain bean. You know, the same bean that just seemed to have a bad reaction to the pink on the walls. That didn't really encourage a comforting feeling, either!
Suddenly, Asher was deciding that purple definitely felt like a better favorite color than pink. Not that either of them were really colors he would consider a favorite. As far as lobster went? It wasn't really his favorite, but he certainly wouldn't tell a little girl that. And, chances were, it wasn't going to end up being something actually edible, anyway. "Only if there's enough to share," he settled on responding with. Hopefully, there wasn't. The longer they were here, the less he wanted to touch anything in the home.
"It definitely looks fancy for a kitchen door," Asher commented in response to the door seeming off. Sure, someone could be the skeptic, but he had a feeling if nobody played along, things might not go so well. It wasn't like they could really leave on a whim if Amy suddenly hated everyone, at that.
Maybe this Amy was essentially a monster that wanted people to behave. He hoped not.
Regardless! The redhead gave a small nod about going into the room together, and approached the door with the others. Looking at the expression Akemi gave, Asher pressed his lips tightly together and gave a small shrug. There wasn't a lot for them to do, really! Aside from enter the kitchen, that was. But, this whole thing definitely didn't feel right.
With the tamer's offer to get Amy food, Asher shifted to open yet another door of the home, and hope for the best.

It seemed that the resolution of this situation had ended up being awkward for everyone involved, and for a variety of reasons; luckily, it had reached its natural resolution, and everyone was back to being themselves again. That was good, right? Soon enough, the group found themselves facing the kitchen's door, all while commenting on lighthearted things, like everyone's favorite color or how they were 'excited' regarding eating the lobster!
Which, in all fairness, was more or less expected. Who didn't like lobster, after all? "I think that purple is a cute color too! That's what royalty likes to wear, right? I wanna be royalty someday!"
Would little Amy be able to attain such a title in her lifetime? Unlikely, but hoping was what counted. Without a care in the word, she followed Asher's lead, and soon enough, everyone was in front of the construct, even if the girl seemed to react with total normalcy towards it.
"I'm sure mom made enough for everyone to eat! My sisters get jealous when she does something only for me, so she probably let some spares in the kitchen. You can have them! They always try to snatch my food so it's fine."
Nevermind less than ideal filial interactions. What was behind the door, then? It seemed like things were back to completely normal; what everyone would see was, once again, an exact replica of Amelie's own living/dining room. The key difference? On the table, there was a tray with what looked like three perfectly-made lobster rolls. There were enough ingredients prepared for a fourth, but it seemed like the sandwich hadn't been made, for whatever reason. Did that mean somebody had to make it? In any case...
"There they are!" To say the least, Amy was ecstatic. An eager expression immediately took over her features, and it wasn't hard to discern that the young girl was salivating already. The only problem? She wasn't tall enough to get to the tray comfortably. Somebody would have to fetch it for her! And, maybe somebody was willing to make the fourth sandwich? So many questions abound.
Nevermind the fact that the pink lighting from the previous room was beginning to permeate the kitchen. What could that mean?

The laws of headpats aside, this realm's peculiarities were becoming more and more pronounced the further they dared to go within. "Well, I think you'll get there someday." Akemi told little Amy as she got in front of this...odd construct. But she looked at Amelie with a perked brow. Did...Did she have sisters? Huh, seems they might have had more in common than one might think.
"...There's only three, though..." Akemi muttered as she looked over the lobster rolls. Anzu was staring at them. "...What the heck're those?" The bean stated in a rather uncouth display of how uncultured she was. Of course, Akemi was pretty versed on what lobster rolls were and how to make them. "...Asher, keep watch, I don't trust the pink." She muttered as she went up to start preparing the fourth sandwich.
Anzu, meanwhile, flew over to small Amy. "So, what're your sisters like?"

Asher would let Akemi be the one to encourage Amy to become 'royalty' someday. Mostly because there was little he could say that wouldn't just be a direct reference to conversations he's already had with the version of Amy that he actually knew! Instead, they'd just continue on to the kitchen. "Do you have any brothers that get jealous, too? Or just sisters?" Sure, it was a fairly random question, but Asher seemed genuinely curious!
Perhaps, there was more interest on listening for any discrepancies from the Amy that he and Akemi knew. Did Akemi know how many siblings Amy had? He wasn't really sure how much the two actually knew of each other's personal lives!
But, now that they were looking at the three lobster rolls, the redhead gave a shrug at Anzu, as if pretending not to know. "Guess you'll have to try one, to find out!" Then again, maybe he shouldn't be encouraging anyone to eat here. It still seemed pretty sketchy. Especially with the pink lighting beginning to ooze into the room.
Giving an affirmative hum to Akemi, before she began making the final sandwich, Asher pretended to pay more attention to the conversation between Anzu and Amy about her sisters. It would probably be interesting to hear, anyway! And, didn't make it seem like he was legitimately keeping an eye out for anything weird to suddenly start happening! After all, what was so weird about the room turning pink? Totally normal, right?

The situation at hand was... strange, and that was to say the very least. But that had been the situation for a while, hadn't it? The four individuals were sitting in the conspicuously calm room all by themselves, all while the short-yet-not-shortest girl present decided to prepare the missing refreshment so the group could enjoy them all together. Friends always enjoyed meals together, right? It wouldn't be fair for the last person if the rest ate while they prepared the sandwich, so they waited for now, even despite little Amy's stomach deciding that wasn't the best course of action.
"Brothers...?" That had been the first question uttered in the tiny brunette's direction. Did she have brothers? "I mean, I have one, even if he really doesn't get very jealous. Tobi is a little, uh... carefree? That's the word Mom uses to describe him!" Which was code for him not really giving most earthly matters a lot of importance, but that would probably be too hard to explain to a young girl.
As an expectant Amelie keep on waiting for Akemi to finish, it seemed like the whole environment froze; the weird light seemed to have stopped its advance altogether. Could what was happening at the moment be linked with that, somehow? It was hard to guess.
"My sisters, Miss? They're nothing special, I think!" Weird way to describe a human. 'Nothing special'. "Valerie is tall and has dark hair and is very athletic. Yvonne is tall-but-less-tall, used to have dark hair but now is blonde, and is very smart! She may be smarter than the four of us combined!"
A brief description, but that was probably because lengthening the topic for too much would be awkward, right? By now, however, Amy was looking rather intently at Akemi. "Are the sandwiches ready, Miss? I'm hungry~"
That's what they were here for, right?

It was still rather shocking to Akemi that Amelie even had siblings in the first place, which probably led to some deja vu when one considers events that occurred around this time. But, that's also ultimately irrelevant to the context of what they were doing right now, isn't it?
Odd how the siblings were nothing special, though. Especially with descriptions such as those. "...They sound like they're more distinct people than anything, especially for here--tall is not something you see a lot in Japan, you know?" Anzu snickered at the small Amy. Akemi made no noise, instead opting to carefully work on the sandwiches. Anzu had taken a quick pause before she finally spoke once more. "...Those are good names, either way."
Akemi would ask one more question as she continued working on the sandwiches. "Hey, is there any way you'd like yours?" Depending on Amy's answer, she'd prepare one sandwich in a specific way. Anywho, in short order, they would be prepared. "Now they're done. You get first pick, of course." She was trying not to allow the peculiarities in the environment to get to her, on account of that was what she felt the place wanted from her. To crack. To break. To fold like heated steel.
She would not.

From Amy's talk on confirming she had a brother, and discussing some about sisters, Asher could determine that either this was actually Amy, or someone (something?) that knew a lot about her. Still, he wasn't entirely sold on this Amy-entity! Of course, that was because she was definitely the wrong height and age! And, this certainly wasn't some weird form of time travel.
Her sisters were all tall -- possibly because Amy was so tiny -- and they all had dark hair at some point! "I bet you'll get pretty tall someday, too." For a while, at least! Until whatever shrinkening was going on recently, at the actual Amy's apartment! Who knew if that was going to be permanent.
Still remaining fairly relaxed, despite the strange situation that they had fallen into, Asher would look over to see Akemi finishing the final sandwich. Did the pink pause, like their little 'mission' while Akemi made food? Asher would have barely noticed, if he hadn't been clearly instructed to keep a watch because of the pink hues. Granted, even if things weren't turning pink, he probably would have been told to watch out just because everything was kind of creepy.
It was interesting, though. Could he raise any theories from it? Probably nothing he could really rationalize at the moment. Though it was hard to say he'd be able to rationalize anything in this place, ever!
But, now that things were progressing, and tiny Amy was offered food, he'd glance for the pink lighting again, to see if it would progress. It also seemed that he was going to wait until everyone else picked up their own sandwiches, before picking the final one. Ladies first, or something like that!
