All in all? Amy didn't look very excited at the prospect of talking about her siblings. Or family, rather; yet, it was impolite to not respond when a comment was directed your way, wasn't it?
"Well, they aren't distinct for me." Judging by the child's expression, she didn't look very amused. "And I hope I don't become as tall as they are. Mom always complains it's very hard to find clothes that fit them. I wanna wear what I want!"
Not being able to reach the top shelf was a worthwhile sacrifice in pursuit of that goal, at least for her! Whether the other beings present agreed or not, that was on them! In any case, little Amy gave one final nod to Anzu's last remark before moving onto the next topic. Which... wasn't very much of a topic, admittedly.
"I want mine to be just like everyone's!" She replied to Akemi's question, her tone recovering its usual energy. "That would mean we're friends, right? Friends always get the same stuff! At least, that's what Mom said once..."
Whether that was true or not, that was something she would find out eventually. One everyone had their respective sandwiches in their grasp, the small brunette would smile. "Let's eat them together!" The meaning of that statement seemed to be quite literal, as she seemed to be ready to take the first bite from her sandwich, but was kind of expectant on everyone motioning to do the same. Considering how hungry she was, that seemed like quite the feat!
For the time being, Asher wouldn't have to worry about the strange lights creeping into the room. Their advance seemed to have completely halted, and it seemed like, at least for the moment, it didn't look it was about to resume anytime soon.

Just like everyone's, huh? Then so it shall be. And so it was. Anzu hadn't noticed that Amy hated this subject, so it kind of caught her off guard when Amy's tone regained that pep it had prior. "Mmhmm. It's one gesture of friendship. But...I'd say we're already friends, right, Amy? Plus, no matter what height you are, you're...still Amy. You can wear or look however you want because it'll still be you." Akemi told the small Amy.
It was pretty miraculous that she didn't start devouring the sandwich right then and there, considering the hunger that was stated to be felt earlier. She really was insistent upon the four eating together. So, Akemi had to oblige. Even Anzu did. The bean grabbed a sandwich that was literally her size, and stared at it. "...I don't even think I can eat all of this..." The obnoxiously rotund beast murmured.
"At least try." Akemi retorted, before, hopefully, they'd all bite down on the sandwiches. Please, don't let those weird lights creep in further.

So, she didn't want to be tall. Well, that posed a problem for her, in the future! Oh well. That should mean that the actual Amy might be... happy about the shrinking that had recently happened in her life? Hopefully. With a mindset of wanting to wear whatever she wanted despite height, Asher had to wonder how Amy picked things like journalism and architecture over something like fashion design.
Oh well.
Either way, everything seemed relatively safe and sound while Akemi finished making up the final sandwich. "Maybe, you'll like it so much that you'll try to eat everyone else's," Asher suggested to the bean, with a shrug. Surely Anzu could fit a bunch of sandwiches in her stomach! Right? Most Digimon were bottomless pits! If Whiskers were here, she'd probably be thrilled. It wouldn't be any surprise that a cat would have eaten all the seafood in the room, if given the opportunity. Maybe she would have enjoyed this trip more than Asher, considering that!
Instead, he was still just feeling paranoid about this whole thing! Maybe, it was hard to relax when the world wanted to be pink, and his girlfriend was about half her usual height.
Once everyone picked their sandwich, Asher would take the last one. "Well, let's eat then." While Akemi would hope that the lights wouldn't enter the room any further, for just this moment, Asher was only going to hope that this sandwich wasn't actually gross!

Little Amy gave Akemi the brightest smile she had given anyone until now. Expected? Unexpected? That was... hard to tell.
"You're right. No matter what happens, I will always be Amy! I won't let anyone say otherwise." Interesting thing to say on a moment like this one, but it wouldn't be the first time the quirky brunette had said things like those. And even then, something like that shouldn't matter in the face of their impending meal, right? Seemingly, everyone had agreed to begin at the same time, and unless had different plans in mind, that's exactly what would happen.
Sadly, that instant wouldn't be very long lived. As soon as the first bite was given to the food, the otherwise plain room was suddenly overtaken by the pink light that had otherwise remained on its edges. Besides changing the scenery at first, it didn't look like it was affecting anything that was happening, at least until after several seconds passed.
From one moment to the next, the child was nowhere to be found, and the room where everyone had stood was no more; Akemi, Asher, and Anzu found themselves freefalling through an endless, yet colorful void, not unlike the first time they had ventured in this strange dimension, even if this time it wasn't quite the same, either. The atmosphere was eerily silent, and the imaginary that bombarded everyone's eyes and minds as they fell depicted very specific scenes from a first-person perspective; the most recognizable ones were an unconscious human in front of the observer, even though their appearance seemed to change constantly, just like the scenery around them —would anyone recognize a certain blonde among them?—; various types of settlements, from villages to small towns, all in varying states of ruin and destruction, a vast room, filled with shadowy, yet imposing figures of different sizes and demeanors; the threshold of a ruined theater where other two certain blondes were venturing in, and finally an endless, empty expanse, entirely occupied with a being that was as massive as it was majestic. An aberration so sublime its mere presence instilled its observers with a duplicitous feeling of reverence and abject horror at the same time. A figure you couldn't help to stare at, despite how painful and borderline maddening the act was. A vision capable of driving anyone to the brink...
That, luckily, had been both blurry and brief enough to potentially not inflict any lasting consequences on its observers. Those instants might have felt like years, considering the bombardment of imagery the trio had been subject to. Good thing they had reached their final destination, right?
Currently, the three were in the middle of what looked like a completely deserted beach. The sky was blue just like the sea, and the sad around them was completely white. That panorama seemed to extend to infinity, at least if no one noticed a small figure sitting by the shore, staring vacantly into the blue depths as the waves caressed her feet. Considering her back was turned on the group and that the distance between them wasn't marginal, chances were she hadn't noticed the newcomers.
But, at least the group would be able to easily tell the identity of that lone observer. And the fact that, for a change, she looked like her actual age now.

It was indeed difficult for Akemi to figure out if she should've expected the widest smile she had ever witnessed the smaller Amy give. But, that was that. They ate the sandwiches, or at least bit into them, and then things...
Got weird.
The pink light overtook the room quicker than one could say reflection-based abilities overtook a freeform roleplaying site. For a few seconds, nothing happened, but after those precious few moments had passed by quicker than an activity check?
There was no room. Nothing to stand on. A void best described as a kaleidoscope of colors was what they fell through, and through it, Akemi and Anzu saw a number of images the likes of which they quickly deduced as images from the perspective of someone, perhaps Amelie herself.
They weren't sure who the blondes were. Well, the two in the theater they felt they had a good grasp upon.
It was all thrown off by whatever that THING at the end was. Whatever it was, no mortal eyes were clearly meant to perceive it. Was it due to the grandeur it held, or was it just that awful to look at? The world may never quite know the truth of the matter.
Finally?
The trio were at a beach. A blank, deserted and endless sea. The observer, the only other person here, was...Amelie Saboro herself. There was really one thing to do here.
"...Amy?"
Akemi uttered a simple question, as if requesting confirmation.

Why would 'gross' be the primary concern? Why didn't Asher consider poison, or perhaps, drugged sandwiches? After all, Little Amy was the only one who had gotten a 'safe' one, considering Akemi had made it in front of them! Since the small[est] girl was no longer with them, it was clear that this was the mistake that had been made! Or, not really, but it felt like the least brain-melting conclusion at the moment!
From pink to falling, none of this really felt ideal. Especially not after having planned on consuming a sandwich in [relative] peace!
Squinting, to try to watch the hallucination, Asher admittedly didn't really recognize anyone. There was a fleeting thought that one of the girls looked like an ex-coworker's girlfriend, but it was entirely possible he was mistaken! After all, things were happening at an already discomforting pace, and he hadn't even seen the coworker in what felt like a year, or more. And, with the last image, the redhead's nose scrunched.
This was giving him a headache. Was it the free-falling? The images? The final visage of a creature that almost felt like it shouldn't be looked at, while simultaneously needing to be?
This is why people shouldn't do drugs.
At last, they reached some sort of 'destination.' A beach. A much more welcome change, though Asher still would have much preferred to be back in the real Amy's room, with Ooi and Whiskers. Though, there was still a chance that the girl they were viewing was actually Amy, wasn't there?
Considering Akemi had already tried addressing her, they'd hopefully find out soon enough.

Unlike the previous events, the situation ahead of Akemi and Asher was rather straightforward. As they drew closer, some details about their environment —and about Amelie herself— would become clearer. First of all, and surprisingly enough considering they had already been observing her for a while, the duo would notice just now that the girl was wearing a rather elaborate, dark-colored kimono. However, upon further observation, they would also realize that both the brunette's clothes and her hair were very disheveled; it was actually hard to guess what must have happened for such a state of disarray to be so obvious on a person who cared about it to the extent Amy did.
What was probably the weirdest thing of it all, however, was that the young woman didn't even turn to face the person who was currently calling out for her.
"Thanks for making it this far. You should leave now, though." Those words were somewhat curt, and cold, but they didn't seem to carry any ill intent. Amelie's feet seemed to be firmly placed on the sand below, and she wasn't showing any signs of moving or speaking further.
However, from one instant to the next an exact replica of the portal that had brought the two humans into this strange adventure spawned, right beside Amelie herself.
"Goodbye."
She just remained still after saying those words.

There wasn't much to be made sense of when it came to this morning. It was already a pretty tenuous time in Akemi's life, but this confusion was...not doing much to help those matters, if that made sense. So, being told to simply leave after she went and called out for one of her best friends made Akemi react with...not irritation, but she was putting her proverbial foot down here.
"...I'm not leaving." She simply said. "You're out cold in the real world. Outside of this. Why should we just leave you behind...?" To say that Akemi refused to regard the portal or the goodbye was an understatement.
Anzu on the other hand glanced to Asher. "...Why's she like this? Hell, is she normally like this? Girl looks like she had a rougher night than that one time I thought it'd be funny to give Akemi booze."

There was a moment of silence, while Asher tried to process that Amelie was far too quick to push the group away. Lifting a hand to cover any expression that fell on his lips, the redhead debated how to take the situation. Granted, he was obviously going to side with the statements that were brought up by Akemi.
As for Anzu's inquiries? Clicking his tongue to the roof of his mouth, Asher shook his head. "I don't know," he admitted. "I've never seen her like this," lowering his hand to place it into one of his pockets, the redhead flashed a smile at the bean, "and I'm fairly sure I've made her pretty upset before." In a couple different ways, more than likely! He really shouldn't smile when saying something like that! It might make him look like a jerk!
...Though, he had to admit he was curious to know what type of person Akemi was, when drunk.
Ignoring the portal like everyone else, the redhead moved closer to his girlfriend. Was this actually Amy? He still wasn't entirely convinced. Either way, he'd reach out to carefully try to fix the brunette's disheveled hair. "Bad news, M'eudail," the teen hummed, regardless of if she'd actually let him touch her, "sounds like none of us are going anywhere without you."
Would Amelie humor them? Or was she still honestly expecting them to enter the portal without another word?

The panorama remained uncannily static for a couple of seconds; almost as if time itself had stopped. The waves and the sea seemed to have frozen in time until... they did not.
"I don't even know why I tried." An exasperated sigh escaped Amelie's throat at the joint response that came from Akemi and Asher. Granted, she was expecting something like that to happen, but that didn't make the situation any less frustrating.
"This is supposed to be an allegory of my headspace, or something like that." The brunette commented with an even tone as the disordered strands of her hair were put back into their place by the redhead, despite there being no reaction to such an act. "But I can't control it; not in the slightest. I'm... not even the owner of my own self. You can guess the implications by yourselves."
Whether that was an arrogant statement, or outright refusal to admit a truth that might have been too painful for her to bear, that was unknown. "My... Amelie's body was used for all kinds of actions without her permission or consent. Many of which she regrets deeply and that even you might've witnessed on your journey here. And that was just the tip of the iceberg. The worst is yet to come."
Seemingly out of thin air, the vague figure of a spirit totem appeared in the empty space beside her; the sheer power it irradiated was testament enough of the kind of spirits contained inside. "I don't think I'll be able to remain myself." A frown painted her face right after that comment. "Hell, I don't even know if I'm myself at the moment. For all that I know, I could just be a projection placed here to try and garner your sympathy, just so you help Amelie's body regain consciousness. Appeal to your emotions so you decide to aid the helpless, sad girl. Everyone wins, right?"
That comment was pretty much spat, pointing out an obvious amount of self-loathing. "That's why I want to remain here. That's why Amelie wants to remain here. She would rather never wake up than relinquish her free will. She just wants to watch this endless calm expanse and let its alluring call entertain her for eternity. That's why you should leave on your own."
Another sigh escaped the young woman's throat. "I honestly don't even know how you three made it up this place without getting hopelessly lost maze that a human mind is, but I guess that doesn't really matter. My body is weak; up to the point that I can't even stand up on my own. Nothing is deterring you from scooping me up before walking through that portal if that's what you want, just like nothing is deterring you from returning to the Human World on your own. I doubt anything you will say will convince me to want leave on my own will, but you're welcome to try if you so desire and if you're willing to waste your time."
One last moment of silence ensued, as one last look was given to the ocean ahead. "So. What will you do? Will you contradict Amelie's wishes and get me out of this place, even if that is against her will? Or will you leave her alone, like she wants? Maybe you'll try to hopelessly convince me about how leaving is a good idea. I'm actually curious on what you're going to do."

Asher had to admit, he wasn't really sure why Amy tried, either! Despite the reaction from his 'girlfriend,' Asher gave a small shrug and a chuckle. He had to find some humor in all of this, right? Otherwise, he was probably going to start getting frustrated, himself! The poor guy just wanted to go to sleep after rescuing his precious girlfriend from inside her head, with the help of a small tamer and her not-so-small bean-monster!
"The worst is yet to come?" Would there be any clarification, if he just parroted the words back?
While listening to the spiel, Asher occasionally glanced at the duo that also clearly wanted to help Amy. Surely, they wouldn't side with whatever 'this' Amy was saying about staying here, right? That would be madness. Or, at least, the redhead thought so. But, he wasn't going to interrupt the brunette's conversation, and wasn't really sure if Akemi or Anzu planned to, either.
And after all was said? "You don't honestly think we're just leaving her like this, right?" That would be dumb, even for a random chunk of Amy's mind to come up with! Unless someone other than Amy protested within the next few seconds, the spirit user slipped one arm under his girlfriend's legs, and put the other against her back, to lift her. Then, turned to Akemi and Anzu, just for confirmation. After all, they'd had to deal with making sandwiches and weird pink lights with him. This Amy just had to sit around until Asher came to whisk her away! "I hope you don't mind if I just," he trailed off, making a gesture to the portal with his shoulder.
It was four or five in the morning. Was anyone really going to stand around and try to coax Amy, using actual logic?
As long as nobody protested, he'd let Akemi and Anzu take the lead before stepping through the portal. After all, it was hard to say what would happen if he took Amy's not-body away from the area before everyone else had already left! Plus, it would just be flat-out impolite.
But, if the tamer or digimon did protest, he would at least wait to see how it played out. Couldn't hurt, right?

The worst is yet to come?
Hell, why did Amy even try in the first place? These people were her friends. At least, Akemi and Anzu alike considered her a friend. A rather close one, too. They both shook their heads at Asher. No, they really weren't going to interrupt Amy's conversation at all. Strange as it was, it did...provide some insight as to how spirit wielders truly worked.
At least those with the more malevolent sets of spirits to call upon. "We're not." Akemi uttered quietly. Yeah. Asher was all clear to try sweeping his girlfriend off her feet. THEN they'd go through the portal if that was a success. They didn't have any protests, they just wanted out of here so they could go the fuck back to sleep.
So, what would happen?

Another sigh escaped Amelie's lips. Having this kind of conversation of a group so bent on these convictions was as useless as it came. A shrug from the brunette's delicate frame, followed by what could only be classified as a confident smirk followed suit. "So be it. You'll see what I'm talking about when it happens. If the warning wasn't enough to deter you, why would an explanation of what may happen affect anything? The whole thing being a surprise would be way more... exciting, don't you think?"
The first thing that Asher would notice once she scooped up his girlfriend is that she was notably lighter than usual. The second? That any exposed skin that came into contact with his wasn't just cold, it was borderline freezing to the touch. One had to wonder if what he had picked up was truly a human or something else! In any case, just like she had said, there was absolutely no opposition to such an act. Thus, Akemi and Anzu were the first to step through the portal.
Strangely enough, once they did and moments before the redhead did the same, he would feel a pair of arms enveloping him. It'd have been a pretty warm and tender hug, if it weren't for the fact of how cold Amy's body was. Asher could probably even feel a stream of equally cold tears trickling down from his girlfriend's eyes.
"Thank you." Her current voice was the polar opposite of the calm, almost emotionless tone she had used moments before. It sounded broken and... scared. "Could you please thank Akemi and everyone else who came as well? That'd make me happy."
As he stepped in, a barely audible whisper resounded through the portal, "I'm sorry." The journey back had been a lot calmer than their initial trip towards the insides of Amy's mind. Almost from one moment to the next, Akemi, Anzu, and Asher were back on the real world. They'd soon come across Whiskers and Ooi, even though there was no trace of the brunette's physical body.
"Uh." Ooi trailed off, unsure on how to react to the recent events. "Just as you appeared, Amy's body began to become transparent and.. she just poofed. I saw her open her eyes before that happened, and she looked kinda sad? I'm not entirely sure of what happened. Mind explaining?"
This night had been quite wild, all things considered. But the issue had been resolved, probably? At this point, it was hard to tell.

The thing with cryptic warnings is that most of the time, they make little to no sense. They're really just enough to make you start contemplating what they might mean after the fact, and if you thought about it enough, that's when it would start to unravel you like a piece of yarn.
At least, that's what Anzu's experiences with warnings like the one Amy just gave them was...Akemi just...stared at Amy in relative concern. This was one of her best friends, and...she genuinely didn't usually act like this. It really wasn't like her in the slightest, which begged the question.
How...much of a grip could one's spirits have over themselves? That question remained as they proceeded through the portal with Asher and his girlfriend. When they had returned, and Ooi had begun to talk about what she had experienced...
Akemi looked to the Amy that was hopefully in Asher's arms, then to Ooi herself. For a bit longer than a few seconds. "We...found her in a place that was in that portal. And we brought her back. It's...It's a really long story. A-And I'm kind of tired...I'm not sure what to do from here..."
Whatever they figured out, though, at least the weird part of tonight was done with.

"If only I liked surprises more," the redhead hummed, giving a small shrug. Considering who they were talking to, though, it really wasn't a surprise that nothing would be outright stated! Granted, it was a bit surprising to realize just how frigid the girl was, upon being lifted. She needed a blanket! More likely something warmer, but it wasn't like anything would be an option to heat her up with, until they could get back to her home!
With the success of picking up the girl, and no strange things happening with the portal, Asher let Akemi and Anzu step through first, leaving him alone with whatever-it-was that may or may not be pretending to be his girlfriend. And, for a moment, he froze. Maybe, it was from the bitter arms that were hugging him, or what was said next.
While the temptation was there to tell Amelie that she'd be able to thank them herself, Asher couldn't help but get the feeling that there was a reason she'd be making the request. So, instead, he pulled the brunette a bit closer, and let out a deep breath. "Yeah." No words of comfort. Was this actually Amy talking now? He still wasn't entirely sure.
Between spirits and headspaces, nothing really seemed certain here.
Yet, there was still a moment of thought before entering the portal. Hesitation? They really didn't have to leave. But that could never really end well. While the spirit user debated making a joke to try to lighten the air, eventually he dispersed the though while clicking his tongue to the roof of his mouth. It was far too early for crappy jokes, anyway.
Finally, he stepped through the portal. And, hearing a final parting word, hands began to lower to their sides. After all, by the time he exited the portal, they would be empty. Just like the space in the room that she had previously been sitting. And for a brief moment? A clearly agitated expression fell on the teen's face.
There was a small gesture to beckon Whiskers to his side, before putting his hands in his pockets, and flashing a smile that instantly masked anything that he had displayed previously. "She wanted to say thanks, but," of course there had to be a 'but' in a situation like this, "she had to leave, for now." Did anyone else in the room know of Amy's occasional blackouts? Was this the type of thing that happened during them? So much for hoping that sort of thing wouldn't happen again.
But, maybe there was a more logical explanation. Hopefully.
For the time being? It seemed Ooi wouldn't get any in-depth answers. After all, Asher was siding with Akemi's exhaust! And, he didn't really want to discuss the events too much at the moment. "Sorry, but I think too much happened for us to really explain on no sleep," he admitted, while patting a hand on Whisker's head.
"Is Amewlie okay, though?"
Without missing a beat, the teen answered with, "yeah. I'm sure she's fine. So nobody needs to worry!" Very reassuring. "It's time to go, though," he added, already several steps toward the bedroom door. "I can give you two a ride home, if you want," he offered, clearly directed at the people who didn't live in Amy's apartment, other than Whiskers herself, who was already awkwardly following the spirit user.
"Try to get some sleep too, Ooi. If you need something later, feel free to call, alright?" Clearly, later meant after getting some much-needed sleep, before sleep deprivation caused any bad reactions to everything that had been handled this morning!
Either way, with or without the tamer and partner duo, Asher and Whiskers were on their way out the door, to the teen's car. This morning was just way too much for the ex-actor to keep smiling about.
