[MML 1] Rotto's Magical Adventure!

The proposal was successful! A happy mewl escaped Sho's lips through a giggle as Keriann clapped. But he was more pleased at what the Syakkomon was saying, a savage grin cutting across their face. Though, it was quickly replaced with shock as they began to tell them about their father, and almost her own name... "Your father was a scientist? Oh! You'll have to tell us more~" The Bastemon seemed to be primed and ready to go along another ramble, before Rotto interrupted them. Apparently the Dorimon found her so unscrupulous that he had to speak up, but with her goals so aligned with the group's, they couldn't just leave her input unconsidered. "Is that so?" Sho inquired, hearing that offhand mention about Dorimon's plans. It stirred their thoughts a little; if the Dorimon had chosen to go this far with someone of this background, what plans could he possibly have? "Well, for now, since I don't have your name, you'll be Discord from here on. It'll streamline things once everyone else has a name later." They mused beneath their veil and under their breath. Turning to Keriann, they nodded, looking towards her while they directed their speech. "True. We should be able to gleam all the information we need from Mizu once she returns...I doubt that we'll be stuck if she's gotten the chance to question the 'tender for that long..." They predicted, beginning to move towards the counter. "I'll approach to see if we're all good to go." And with that, the robotic barkeep would begin to see the suave and sultry cat-woman approach, coming next to Mizu as she sat in front of the card. Sho signalled their presence with the small tap of a claw, beginning to speak quite amicably with them. "Ah, an old friend? Haven't seen you in a while, have I?" She began, trying to give Mizu an out she could latch onto...

Mizu grinned. "A Gizamon, eh? Sisters from another, hairier mother, I say!~ No prob, I'll give them your card! Thanks for the info, pal! Here's a little something!~" With that, Mizu paid for the drink, doubled the price as a tip...and hopped onto the bar to give the robot a little kiss on the cheek. She then giggled, took the card, swallowed it and waddled over to the group.
Yukiko rubbed her chin. "Y-y-y-you really put a lot of thought into this, Sho, just as a good Field Club member would. Ok, we'll go with your plan! But with so many ships around, how do we find one for us?" "Oi, guys, I got a lead! There's a warehouse belonging to some spanish guys on the eastern end of the island! I am to give them a keycard, maybe they can help us out!" Yukiko blinked, then turned to Sho and the group. "Uuuuh, should we?"

“Discord sounds perfect!” A chuckle punctuated the Syakkomon’s statement. Since everything seemed more or less clear, once Mizu pointed them to the headquarters, the recently assembled group left the inn behind and started walking. While they went through the clearly mainly-touristic town, Keriann would ask some very simple questions about humans in the Digital World and how this whole dimension worked. If her human peers answered these, the little girl would at least get a grasp of concepts like tamers, digivices and even digimon evolution stages, which was always a good thing to know! Of course, this also included some introductions between Mizu and the rest of the group. After walking for around ten minutes, the group would see a big sign with the words they were looking for: ‘ Los Amigos del Ocio’ A set of buildings laid behind a huge archway, which indicated the entrance to the company’s ground. Just by being around for a short while, they would spot some Gizamons carrying boxes and creates going from some buildings to others. The whole headquarters were next to the sea, so it was safe to assume they were taking those crates off or into a ship. The place was huge and the grounds consisted of much more than a single building. The company seemed to be doing fairly well. Since every Gizamon seemed too busy to talk and the door to every building remained closed, the group decided to keep walking, until they spot one more worker at the distance, right in front of one of the warehouses. The frog seemed pretty distracted, although he didn’t seem to be too busy. Maybe they could talk to him? While they walked by one of the sides of the structure the Gizamon was guarding, they would notice a small hole on the lower side of the wall. It seemed to lead to the insides of the building, although it was fairly small. Probably a digimon that was small enough could fit in there, like Dorimon, Discord or Mizu. A potential plan B? There didn’t seem to be any other way to enter the building, except for the door the frog was guarding. Maybe one of them should try sneaking in through there now that no one was watching, just in case negotiations with the doorkeeper didn’t work. Or… maybe not. It was their decision! In any case! Once they got close enough, they’d raise the attention of the frog, who would look at the oddly assembled group while tilting his head. “Hi there!” Rotto greeted the guard while sitting on the floor. After another tilt of his head, the Gizamon broke the silence. “Hola!” He greeted them with a smile. Upon being stared at by the Gizamon, Keriann took a couple of steps back and hid behind Sho. This frog was a bit scary for her. “Do you work here?” Discord asked with a smile, glancing at the whole building behind the guard. The Gizamon’s eyes widened, while he stared at the clam. Eventually, he spoke again. “ No entiendo lo que estás diciendo…” He noted. What did he say? “He’s speaking in a dialect I can’t comprehend.” Rotto remarked. “Do any of you know what he’s saying?” Did anyone in the group know how to communicate with this guy? "Yep. That keycard is the path of least resistance towards our goal. The less we endanger ourselves, the better. Now let's get to that house of wares!" Sho nodded to everyone before leading them out together. He had enlightened the newest human attached to the crew on all sorts of subjects concerning the Digital World, its inhabitants and all it had to offer on their way over to the shipping corporation's building. The captain should take pride in teaching their crewmates well anyway, and with their membership to the Digital Field Club with the leader of said club in tow, who better to give Keriann an introduction to the world they lived in? All the flowery, dramatic, and sometimes comedic description they threw in had to help a little, didn't it? Like watching an edutainment video on the internet. But it wasn't long before they came across the 'Los Amigos Ocio' proper. Something that threw up more than a couple red flags in their head anyway just from the unfamiliarity of the name alone. There wasn't a string of characters he recognized in that name...It had to be in some different language. Hell, probably human language considering the lack of Digimoji, but considering they were in the digital world, Sho kept it in the back of their mind just in case everyone there was speaking that language as well. They were quite the motley crew, standing in front of the archway that led to the entrance underneath. But they had to advance towards the Gizamon anyway, nothing ventured, nothing gained after all. They kept their eyes on the details, taking in the scenery, noting the movements of the system that made up this shipping corporation...For now, the operation was still simple. The Plan A was getting the keycard to a V.I.D (Very Integral Digimon) and seeing where it took them, for Plan B, there was that small entrance...a frog they could converse with...perhaps a few other angles that Sho hadn't seen just yet. Before they knew it, they were already being greeted by a Gizamon. Quite amicably in fact, sneaking past these guys or taking their things might leave a bigger mark on their conscience than they thought... Forget that. Focus on what you want. As always, his spirit was still there to reinforce what they were already thinking of, but seeing as the confusion was beginning to pile up, the Bastemon leaned over to Rotto and Discord as they quickly ran into a language barrier with the Gizamon...Wait. Didn't Mizu say that language was 'Spanish'? They've gotta know some part of it! Sho held up a claw to the Gizamon to signal them to wait before turning to their crewmate. "Mizu, are they speaking a dialect of Spanish you can understand? If not, do you think they'd understand Digimoji? We need some way to tell them we got a card." Sho began to ask, occasionally glancing around to get another look at their options.

Yukiko let Sho take the lead in explaining the goings on in the Digital World. Sure, she was the club leader, but why should she be the only one to show off her knowledge? Let her dear club member show off their smarts, too! Mizu, for her part, was delighted! This was gonna become a real pirate adventure now! Kira-chan, who had been rather quiet and observant in the Inn, cheerfully twirled around, eager to see this warehouse for himself. And soon,. they did find it! What a cool place! Look at all these Digimon! Smell that harbour air! ...listen to that language she does not understand! All three of Team Yukiko were stumped by this. Yukiko knew this was Spanish, as her British father had given her insight on what languages existed in Europe. But that was as far as she could help here. And neither could Mizu. She gave her Tamer and the Keramon a puzzled look, then turned to Sho. "No dice, hot stuff. Only person I could imagine speaking this weird language is everyone's favourite melanin-less lesbian! Digimoji is our best bet! Anyone got something to write on? Because I can write Digimoji, but I sure can't -speak it-!"Kira-chan was a step ahead. Using his many tendrils, he made Digimoji shapes, hoping to communicate. With his tendrils, he spelled " "

The whole situation developing in front of the warehouse was pretty... Interesting. More than one of the parts involved in this whole exchange seemed to be fairly confused about the matter.
"Aren't you... Speaking digimoji right now?"Discord asked, tilting her slimy head to the side. Rotto looked equally puzzled. What did they mean?
What was worse, The Gizamon seemed to have no clue about what Keramon had formed with his tentacles. What in the world was the official language for Los Amigos del Ocio!? The whole language barrier matter was turning very confusing. Luckily, one of the members of the crew seemed to have a solution.
“Huh…” A sweet voice broke inside the mess of misunderstanding the conversation currently was. Her hands behind her back, Keriann leaned forward, trying to contribute somehow, without really leaving her haven behind Sho's back. “… I understood what he said.”
“Y-You did?” The Syakkomon turned immediately, blinking twice while staring at the human girl. Rotto did pretty much the same, looking fairly surprised.
“M-Mhm… He said h-he can’t understand what we’re saying.” The little girl noted, looking at the frog creature from behind the Bastemon, still seeming a bit fretted by its looks.
Still staring at Keriann, Rotto issued the obvious question. “How do you know that?”
“I am… from Trinidad & Tobago.” She explained. Right when she remembered digimon had no idea what that was, she elaborated. “That is a place in my world that is… kind of close from count--places that speak Spa--that dialect.” She corrected her own words along the way to make it clear for the critters. “A friend of mine at school speaks that… and I’ve learned a bit.”
“Shocking.” Discord muttered. “T-Then talk to him!” Rotto wiggled his short tail.
Without leaving her spot, she addressed the frog. “Hola. Tú hablas español, ¿verdad?” She asked kindly. Immediately, a smile lightened up the frog’s face. “Sí, sí!” He answered while nodding intensively. “Mi nombre es Uva. ¿En qué puedo ayudarte?”
“Uh… Sí. Emm… dame un momento.” She nodded, turning to look at Sho and Yukiko right after. “He says his name is Uva. I t-think I can translate. But we’ll have to go slowly. I don’t want to mess up. What should we ask him about first? L-Let's... try to keep things simple, please.”
Well, it seemed the third human in this crew was proving to be quite useful right now! Since translation was difficult and it took a lot of time, they better picked their questions carefully.

There were far too many things to break down when it came to the details and capabilities of his crew, but Sho was all too aware of how quickly time can get away while he was scanning and thinking and picking apart every piece of what went into people's responses. He was even more acutely aware as a Bastemon that the opportunities for choice and action were dissolving with every second he spent thinking about how to get past this one Gazimon. The cat-woman looked out towards their whole crew and called them together with a gesturing claw, composing their plan. They needed information now. As much information as they could as simply as possible. Sho looked towards Mizu, remembering the card she carried that led them all to this point. "Alright. Courier can speak their dialect. We should immediately figure out how far that card you have can get us. Simplest way to do it is to ask 'what does this mean to you?', the faster we can relay that to them, the better." He explained, invoking the codename they'd chosen for Keriann as they put forth their plan. Every once and a while, their ears and eyes might be drawn to the small entrance just to keep an eye on its state. "If that falls through, Discord is our plan B. If their credentials can get us anywhere, it'll be somewhere we need to be, no matter where we end up. We've got the brains, haven't we?" He relayed to the Syakkomon, speaking rhetorically and aiming a claw at them. "Now, for plan C. There's a bit of a rabbit hole over by the other Gazimon with a frog the last I saw it. Recall, you've got the size to get in there and lead us to a better entrance and I don't doubt you can find a way to communicate that to us. It's a last resort, so keep yourself alert and ready, because you'll need to move if that's the case." He explained to Rotto, referring to them with the codename he just now concocted and giving a look towards the place the Bastemon had been scoping this whole time. If any of their real names come out around this place, it'd probably be game over... "How does that sound, Yokai? Anything to revise?" Said the Bastemon, now looking to Yukiko for any sage counsel she could conjure...

Well, whaddya know! This young lady was capable of speaking this tongue. She knew it was called Spanish, but she could not really speak it, herself! What a relief! Kira was quite disappointed that he could not help after all. Yuki gave him an encouraging pat on the head before turning to Sho. Seems that the Spirit User had various contingency plans! She was rather unsure if anything involving subterfuge or force was the way to go. "....l-l-l-et's keep the other two plans for an emergency, I say. I f-f-ffeel with Keirann's linguistic talent, we can get quite far already." She turned to the girl. "C-c-can you show them the card Mizu has and ask them what it means to them? A-a-and if it doesn't mean much, can you ask if they have someone we can talk to?" It took about a few seconds before she realized the nickname Sho had given her. "E-e-e-eh? Y-y-y-y-yokai? Me? W-w-what kind of name is that??" Mizu giggled. "Well, with an iron club you would totes be an Oni with that beef!~" Yuki blushed and waved her arms about. "Q-q-q-quiet!"

With Sho putting their gears to work, it seemed like the LARPers had an action plan! Would they be able to turn it into reality? “Understood.” Keriann delivered a firm nod, ready to get to work! “I definitely hope we don’t have to use plan B.” Rotto sighed, while Discord just giggled. “Well, it definitely would make things easier, you know?”When the Bastemon mentioned the rabbit hole, Rotto remained staring at it for a second or two. As a matter of fact, he could fit in there perfectly. The Dorimon mustered a little smile. Was he planning on something? Once the discussion was over, the group was back in front of the Gizamon to give this another try. “Queríamos saber si…” Keriann started speaking Spanish again, her hands on her back. “... esta tarjeta te dice algo?” She asked, glancing at Mizu in a way that denoted that now was the time to show the card. While this exchanged happened, Yukiko (and Yukiko only, thanks to her position) would notice something… … moving around her feet. Rotto was slowly but firmly walking towards that small gap at one side of the structure, the one Sho had pointed at earlier! Should she stop him? Or maybe it was a good idea he went in, in case things went south? This was a decision Yukiko had to make, since no one else had noticed what Rotto was doing and, when they did, it would probably be too late! Back to the negotiations in a foreign language, the Gizamon actually looked pretty shocked about seeing that card! “ ¿C-Cómo conseguiste eso?” He asked, looking at Mizu. “ Eso no es importante.” Keriann shook her head. “ ¿Qué podemos hacer con ella?" “ M-Me gustaría verla. Sólo así puedo decirte para qué sirve.” Uva stuttered, seemingly quite shocked about the ítem the Betamon was holding. Then, he extended his own 'paw'. “He says he wants to see the card. But… in the way he wants us to give it to him so he can look at it from up close. He says that’s the only way he can know what can we use that card for.” In all honesty? The youngest human member of the group didn’t seem too convinced about this frog. “H-He seems pretty excited about it. He didn’t say it was his... though. Anyways, your call.” The girl wrinkled her mouth, still hiding behind Yukiko, where she had been during the whole negotiation. “Just give it to him and let’s get this over with.” Discord wobbled over her own shell. What should they do about it?

Gears were turning, everything was progressing as planned. It was near instinct for Sho to push up the bridge of his glasses in these moments, but since the keen feline eyes he had now needed no correction, he merely tapped at the bridge of the Bastemon's nose with a small smirk. The eyes of these Bastemon had more work to do anyway, now that things were actually happening. And for now, that meant turning his attention to the conversation at hand. Those gleaming lavender pearls leered and stared at the interaction, the Bastemon's ears aiming themselves forward to catch the tone of what it was hearing. They had to soak it all in... there'd be no other way to formulate an informed response. "If he tries to run off with it we'll have to insist on following him." Sho asserted, turning back to follow Keriann with his words. Or skin him from ear to ear... He decided to ignore that suggestion. Too...direct for these trying times. "At any rate, we wouldn't even have revealed the card unless it was the simplest option available. Go ahead and let him see it, there's a whole group of us, the advantage will be on our end of the ring." He mused beginning to find a more sage thought in what he was saying. Would they really have the advantage? As the others surely went off to show the cards, Sho continued his inspection, visually picking apart the environment to see if there was anything out of place...anything lying in wait. Surely I could sense it...this form is the most familiar one I know... He thought.

Yukiko blinked. Eh? What was Rotto doing? Trying to sneak in? Th-th-that's not allowed! Yukiko was not about to get into trouble because the little furry bean wanted to take the more direct round! She slowly slid along with the little one, trying not to draw attention to him, and tried to trap him by pushing her legs together. His forward-thinking method was admirable, but this place was already seedy, and she didn't want a small bean to be in there all by itself!
As for Mizu, she was rather suspicious about the need of the fellow frog to physically hold the card. Raising an eyebrow, she looked over to Kira-chan. "First mate, secure the card, then let him have it!" "Aye aye!" The Keramon saluted, took the card, and gave it to the Gizamon...while holding tight onto one corner with two fingers. His arm hung limp, so the Gizamon could turn and twist the card as he pleased, but if he tried to run away with it, he'd have a Keramon with him!

Although the language barrier made the situation dicey, it didn't seem to be the only complication involved. "Eek!" Rotto let out a squeal that got lost among the sounds of the conversation taking place. The Dorimon had been squeezed by Yukiko's legs and his plan of sneaking inside the warehouse seemed to have been defused for now. With the obvious complication of having Kira holding the card, Uva tried to examine it from up close. He seemed to be even more amazed upon confirming the authenticity of the object, while he remained fascinated by the fact that, for some reason, this group had this. While still speaking in a language the group couldn't quite comprehend, the frog addressed Keriann. Once he was done speaking, she turned to the rest of the crew. "He says that he doesn't know anyone that owned this, but he thinks his boss might be very interested in it. He referred to it as an Invitation Card, although I don't really know what that means."“So that’s what it was…” Discord muttered in an audible enough tone of voice. “Do you know what those are?” Keriann’s eyes went down to stare at the clam. Leaning the frontal part of her body forward, the Syakkomon imitated a nod. “I do.” She remarked. “They are a type of label that enables you to speak directly with the leaders of a certain crew if you give it to them. According to the pirate code, the members of that crew can’t harm you if you have their Invitation Card and they’re forced to listen to what you have to say. It’s a very valuable item among pirates that potentially gives you the chance of establishing an alliance. Pirates in the sea may kill for an Invitation Card of a powerful crew. It’s a very important item.”“Interesting…” Keriann muttered, her index finger over her lower lip. “… who created these cards?” “They are created by each of these powerful crews themselves. They usually give it to people they trust but who don’t belong to their crew, like a tool of power. Naturally, once the crew gives their Invitation Card to someone, that someone might become a target to have it stolen or lost in any other form. Since they don’t have a name or are issued to someone in particular, if the card gets taken away from the original receiver, the new owner is entitled to a conversation with the crew. Invitation Cards is the way crews make sure whoever approaches them is worth their time. If you have an Invitation Card of a powerful crew, it is safe to assume you’re very powerful yourself.” Discord went on to explain while both Rotto and Keriann listened carefully. “I don’t know what crew’s Invitation Card that is.” She confessed, looking at the one Kira was holding. “But it does seem authentic. Considering this Gizamon seems so interested in it, it might be from an important crew. Maybe a Treasure Hunter, even.”“I don’t get it… why do pirates create these cards in the first place?” Rotto asked a pretty valid question. “It’s an item that’s basically restraining your freedom.”“But it’s also a source of opportunities.” The Syakkomon noted. “Let's say an individual or a crew named A has an Invitation Card of a certain crew B. If A decides to approach B and shows them B's Invitation Card then B instantly knows the approaching side was strong enough to steal that card or that someone who is at least as strong as B gave A that card.
That means B could be getting in trouble by hurting or ignoring A. So, in a way, when pirates give out Invitation Cards, they are buying themselves potential deals, but also restricting themselves from hurting anyone who has them. As I said, Invitation Cards are a sign of power. They don’t have a name printed in them, so whoever has them, has… well, the possibility to negotiate with a powerful crew in their hands.”“So that’s why they’re so valuable…” For a kid, Keriann seemed to be getting a good enough grasp of the concept. To sum up: This card they had was an important item that probably enabled them to have a deal with a strong pirate crew while, at the same time, protecting them from that crew. No wonder why this frog wanted it! Once Discord’s explanation was over (and once she had answered any question Yuki and Sho might have), Uva would address Keriann once again. Once he was done speaking, she turned to the rest of the crew to translate. “He’s asking how did we get that card. Should we tell him? He also says we should show it to his boss since he loves collecting those types of items. He said he is in his office, which is… that way…” The yellow-hatted girl pointed her index finger to the north where a slightly bigger warehouse could be seen in the distance. “I don’t think we should be losing any more time.” Rotto asserted, sounding a bit impatient. “Ask him if there’s any ship that goes towards Re-Re Island leaving soon.”
Keriann affixed her eyes over the fuzzy creature, to them have them drift towards the clam. “Don’t be such a killjoy, Rotto! Let’s see what the boss has to offer for our card!” “N-No! If we keep losing time our ship to Re-Re Island might sail and we’re going to lose the opportunity! We should focus on that right now!”As usually, Discord and the Dorimon posited two very different opinions. Keriann looked at both Yuki and Sho, tilting her head. Should they go talk with the leader of Los Amigos del Ocio? Or should they question Uva about how to leave immediately towards Re-Re? Or maybe… was this a good time for splitting? Time to make some more decisions! OOC Inventory:-Old Coins [Misc Item] [Mizu] -?? Invitation Card [Crucial Item] [Mizu]
