A pleasant warmth radiated throughout the small suite, accompanied by the soft glow of lamplight, as if it was there to visualize that warmth. A large window looked down out of the 10-(rookie-level)-story room, and into the nighttime city below; far from asleep, but the soundproofing made sure only the slightest, most welcome ambience would find its way inside the room, not to disturb, but to assist the slumber of its occupant, who had come across good money to be able to afford such a luxury. Between this, and the complementary chocolates found atop the dresser, quickly devoured, it was truly the perfect hotel room.
So why couldn't Susumu sleep?
The Dracomon tossed and turned under the covers. Hm, hm, was it too hot? He threw the covers off and curled up onto the bed. Hm, hm, what was wrong? He repositioned himself at just about 360 different angles of rotation, placing himself on different sides of the bed, on top of (on under!) different numbers of pillows. No, no, this couldn't be right! Hadn't he been told this room was the ultimate in luxury? This is what the city folk enjoyed, right? So why couldn't he sleep?
Forget this. He would keep the room for as long as he had paid for - a whole week - but for the moment, his discomfort had made it so he no longer felt tired. He would be going out for now, making an impatient dash for the city streets below. Leaving direction to his whims, he would end up following the first scent of something baking to tickle his nostrils...

In the midst of the late night, things were peaceful and quiet on the city streets. Lampposts and moonlight were the only things there to light the way - but Ophelia didn't mind, given her feline senses allowing her to be able to see just as keenly as she might in the day! Cassie was a little different; her eyes were made more for seeing in the dark underwater, not so much in the dark on land. As a result, the little Gomamon-X would hang close to Ophelia, as the duo stepped out of what looked to be a bakery; bag in hand.
"Uwwaahhh... I can't wait to get to someplace comfy, and eat..!" Cassie would yawn with a soft giggle, smiling sleepily to Ophelia, who laughed with. "Hell yeah! Are we grabbing a room? Or do we want some fresh air?" The Spadamon questioned, briefly peeking into the bag; from which, a multitude of warm aromas came from it. Fresh bread, and a few pastries; Ophelia had some extra bits, and the two had decided what better way to treat themselves, than to go to a bakery?
Of course, these smells were a godsend compared to the typical smells of Terminus. In the more high-end parts of the city, Ophelia found the scents to be too sterile and clean - nothing like the wilderness and outdoors that the duo were acclimated to. However, inversely, the lower-end parts tended to stink to high hell! On top of all of this, there was very little wind, and it was so tight-packed, that they couldn't help but find themselves the slightest bit on-edge from time to time, out here. Which, seemed to include even now; Cassie would glance around a bit - eyeballing the dark alleyways that the lampposts and moonlight didn't quite reach - before suggesting "Let's... head out into the Plains. I think it'd be nicer out there..."
Ophelia nodded her agreement easily, "Yeahh... I'd rather not spend more bits on some cushy hotel anyways..." She'd remark - glancing up towards the full moon above, until something would make her briefly pause. It was faint - given the aforementioned lack of wind - but... She could smell another Digimon nearby. Cassie, noting this pause, would glance over to Ophelia - though the Spadamon would simply quietly shake her head and keep walking. If trouble came knocking, she knew how to deal with thugs and bullies - she was more concerned about leaving the city, to get some actually fresh air.

Funny thing about being a wild digimon: you didn't value your eyes as much as the average digimon or human would. Eyes are of great value - don't get me wrong - but when you didn't need them, each sense could be substituted for nearly any number of the others whenever needed, most importantly, the sense of smell.
Susumu sensed the captivating aroma of baked goods, and it wasn't too far from where he had exited out to the street! He closed his eyes, focused, and walked. Though there would seem there was a sleepwalking Dracomon in the streets, his movements would be far too graceful for that - dodging and weaving between people, vehicles, vehicles who were people, and stationary obstacles such as street lamps and newspaper stands. When he opened his eyes, the Dracomon would attempt to screech to a halt to avoid inconveniencing the strangers in front of him, but couldn't slow down fast enough! Desperately, he shifted his weight over, his head landing sidelong on the ground. The dragon's nostrils flared with each sniff, and he gazed up at the digimon holding the bag, his tongue hanging slightly out of his mouth.
"Hi!" he opened, still just as on-the-ground. "I'm Susumu! Su-su-mu! It smells good over here!"

As the duo made their way towards the front gate to the city, Ophelia couldn't help but note that - despite the fact that she and Cassie were making a decent pace - the scent that she had noted before was still there. They were being followed by someone, it seemed; and between this and the typical oppressive atmosphere that Terminus had, to a wild-born digimon to herself or Cassie, it was safe to say that she was a bit on-edge.
Or, at least... She was on edge, until she saw what, or more exactly who, exactly was following after them.
Glancing over her shoulder - Cassie following Ophelia's gaze - they would see what looked to be a... Dracomon? Neither of them had met this species before in person, but Ophelia could at least recognize with ease that this was a dragon digimon; given that KIZNA was full of them! Cassie, too, would just as easily note something, though - her expression quickly becoming puzzled as she tilted his head. "Is... Is that digimon sleepwalking...?" "I... think so?" Ophelia would tilt her head as well, watching the sleepily stumbling digimon who - by some miracle - was managing to avoid running or tripping over anything! Well, that seemed to at least confirm that he wasn't sleepwalking as much as they had thought; but he certainly seemed to be in a little world of his own!
So much so, that when the Dracomon opened his eyes to see the two sisters, that he would practically trip over himself in an attempt to stop from colliding into them! Ophelia and Cassie would both stumble to the side briefly, blinking to the Dracomon, then sharing a quiet and puzzled glance. It would be when the Dracomon - Susumu, it seemed - began to speak and introduce himself, that the duo would turn their attentions back to him.
"Oh, hello! I'm, uh... I'm Cassie! Are you okay, Susumu..?" The little Gomamon-X would introduce herself, moving over to Susumu's side, to try and help him up the best a little seal could; nudging her head underneath him, and pushing him upwards onto his feet with surprising strength. Ophelia, too, would move over to steady him with a hand; her tailtip twitching lightly as she tried to ponder just who the heck this Dracomon was. "Nice to meet ya, I'm Ophelia." She would chime in; an amused hue as she looked the Dracomon over and added "I'm guessing you're smelling the food we just got. That's some damn good nose you got there, though!" The Spadamon laughed with this; her tail swishing briefly.

The downed Dracomon made an effort to skitter to his feet and assist the nice strangers in helping him up. Peculiarly, Susumu showed no inkling of embarrassment for the fall he had taken. "Ah! Hello, Cassie! You're strong! And I am doing fine, thank you! Wh-" Wobbling as he was, he was in danger of falling onto his other side before Ophelia reached out to stop him. "Ah, thank you, Ophelia! And hello! You're nice! And strong, too, I bet!" He continued to smile and extended his hands to shake them with those of the siblings - or the closest appendages available. Ophelia then complimented his nose, which made him tilt his chin upwards with pride. "Thank you, Ophelia! I am proud of it! The faster digimon in the forest would always get to the food first if I could not smell it earlier..." The bright, chipper tone of his voice trailed off for a miniscule stretch of time, and his eyes wandered back to the person he was speaking to, his tail pulling back up from the ground. "But I am living in the city now, because I am told there are cool things here! I am not yet sure what they meant, though... it is very loud, and confusing! But also big and exciting! I am sure I will find something. I was in a hotel room, but I couldn't sleep, so I went outside, and then smelled something very nice! And now I am here! If I may ask, where do you come from?" The dragon was now staring at the duo with sparkling, curious eyes. Had he forgotten about the food that had drawn him here? Or did he find too much satisfaction in meeting new people to care if he was hungry?

This Susumu fella seemed to be quite the friendly fella, huh? Cassie couldn't help but giggle softly as the initial puzzlement and awkwardness of the situation began to fade, in lieu of her usual cheeriness; Susumu's own cheeriness being particularly contagious. Ophelia, too, couldn't help but laugh a bit boisterously as Susumu commented on her - grinning widely. "Hell yeah we're strong!" She'd respond with a playful pat on the shoulder; the two of them being more than happy to shake his hands; or flipper, in Cassie's case. "I sometimes have a hard time regulating my strength, myself..." Cassie would admit with a sheepish giggle, scratching the back of her head. "I tend to knock people over on accident, more often than not, when I try to give them hugs..!"
The duo would listen with warm smiles, though, as Susumu spoke of his own sense of smell with a visible bit of pride, as well as what brought him here to the city. Ophelia would blink briefly as she listened, though - unable to help but wonder, did the mention of 'the forest' mean that Susumu lived somewhere in Rosewood? Or... Did he live on his own, deeper in the Eastern Timberlands somewhere? Cassie seemed to share these questions; tilting her head a little with a curious hue.
Neither them would really have a chance to ask (at least at that very moment,) though, as Susumu would be the first to ask a question! The both of them would perk to attention as he asked about where they came from; which, the two would smile as they responded. "We're from waaay way up in the Terabyte Mountains!" Cassie supplied - gesturing widely with her flippers, as Ophelia nodded and added "Yep; we're both wild born, wild raised! What about you?" The Spadamon would tilt her head curiously at Susumu. "You sounded as though you came from the Eastern Timberlands?"

"Oh! Hugs! I love strong hugs!" Susumu bounced once, lighter from excitement. "Nothing like going all out to show you care!"
"I've never been to the Mountains... but I wanna go everywhere someday! And that's part of everywhere!"
The Dracomon would cross his arms and remember fondly for a moment. "Oh, in the wild! Yeah, I lived there! In the Timberlands! I raised myself, though. Basically, I'd do stuff, and if it worked, I'd keep doing it! That's how I got this sense of smell! Then I heard about the human world, and I wanted to see what that was like! They scream and run away a lot though... poor humans... they don't need to be scared. So I want to be civil! And kind! And nice! I don't want them to be scared! That's why I moved here. I heard it's closer to what humans live like. It's a lot to take in..." Eventually, Susumu's face would light up again with an idea. "You two seem to know where some stuff is! Would you be able to show me around? It's alright if you can't..."

Cassie and Ophelia both couldn't help some light chuckles; Susumu was so enthusiastic about just about everything, it was contagious to the typically already-raring duo! "How about a hug now, then?" Cassie would ask with a gleeful grin and giggle, practically bouncing up to Susumu, flippers extended for that aforementioned hug! If Susumu accepted the hug, it would certainly be a strong hug; and unless the Dracomon was prepared, it would likely knock him straight over! Ophelia had admittedly considered whether to stop Cassie or not; but given that Susumu had gotten a heads up before, she decided to let him decide how to approach Cassie's utterly-flooring hugs.
As Susumu recounted his time in the woods, as well as in the human world, though, Ophelia would be quiet and contemplative for a moment- albeit, she didn't have much of a chance to respond to this specifically, before Susumu asked her about the city! "Ah... Honestly, we're pretty damn new to this place, too." She'd admit; scratching the back of her head. "We've been navigating around the city with these - our D-Nexuses." So as to show Susumu, Cassie and Ophelia both would pull out their devices - the Spadamon continuing "They're from a team that we're both a part of - KIZNA - and one of the things they are good at, is mapping areas out, and looking stuff up. Otherwise, we're about as lost as you are."
"And we kinda wanted to go outside to eat, too... Our food'll get cold and stale, otherwise! And the city feels kinda... Cramped and different from what we're both used to..." Cassie added in a small chirp - glancing towards the bag that Ophelia was still carrying, hooked onto the crook of her arm. Going back to before, though... "We've, uh... Been to the human world, though... Maybe if you wanna join us out in the Plains, we could share some food, and teach you a bit of what we know?" She'd offer - tilting her head a little, and offering a kind smile to the Dracomon. It sounded like he was really curious and enthusiastic about living with humans, and they had plenty of food to spare honestly; so she wanted to help!

Susumu was hoping Cassie would say that. "I'd love a hug!" He didn't take his or Cassie's words lightly. Rather, he ran up with arms spread out to return the hug with just as much force as he imagined Cassie would give - which is to say - all he could muster.
He would regard the D-Nexuses with exactly as much curiosity as he mouth show towards anything else. He put his snout straight up to the screens, as close as he could without touching them, and stare into them fondly. "Ooooooh! Coooool! So they have maps? Or do they make maps and then have them? My sense of direction helps a lot, but a map would be nice every now and then anyway..."
When offered the chance to leave the city with his new friends, at first Susumu frowned. He looked unsure, glancing one way, than the other, before leaning in with a surprisingly solemn bow. "I want to try my best to learn to live here, but... I agree. It is so very cramped, and when I focus on it too much, it gets hard to breathe... so yes, I will come with you for a bit!" he added, switching back to his lighter tone of voice. "Thank you so much for offering!"

Cassie's hugs certainly had a bit of strength to them; what the little Gomamon-X lacked in speed (it was awkward to move across stuff like concrete or grass at a decent click, compared to the more-slippery snow and ice!) she certainly made up for in strength; being built like a miniature battering ram! She'd be pleasantly surprised as Susumu would try to meet the hug with all the same strength that she did, though; giggling happily as she nuzzled the Dracomon. "Hugs are great; they're so warm and nice and friendly..~" She'd hum contentedly; prompting a chuckle and nod of agreement from Ophelia. Hugs were indeed great.
As Susumu shoved his snout to the screens, the sisters would blink, before giggling a bit. "Kind of both, I suppose?" Ophelia mentioned; glancing down at her own D-Nexus. "They can make the map on their own, but I recall Yuuki mentioning being able to share data with each other, too. I wonder if I'd be able to copy other maps onto here, too, in fact..." That would be fun as hell to mess around with, sometime!
With Susumu's agreement though, the duo would nod and smile. "Hell yeah; c'mon, we'll find a nice spot to camp out." Ophelia mentioned with a grin, gesturing for Susumu to follow as they continued making for the gate. "You can always head back inside after, if you wanna continue giving city life a shot," Cassie would add in reassurance; smiling brightly. "We've just been feeling a little cooped up and uneasy, in here. And even humans need some fresh air every once in awhile, yeah?"
Once the trio were able to make their way out the gate, the change was an almost instant relief to the sisters. Fresh air without the stank of the city, stars shining brightly above without any light pollution, and a pleasant breeze and open expanses without the cramped buildings. Already, the both were light on their feet as they made their way onwards; looking for the perfect spot to hunker down in for the night with an almost practiced hue. They've done this many times before, after all; not being ones to buy up hotel or tavern rooms for the night all that often.

It was strange... The hug had likely been the most satisfying hug of Susumu's life! Granted, the Dracomon had grown up more hug-deprived than any soul, no matter how moody, who had so much as grown up with a family. To him, this was a form of instant kinship. When applied to human etiquette:
It is not too uncommon for two strangers with any less than two seats between them in the movie theater to lean away from each other and make certain neither of them comes too awkwardly close. The lack of this behavior implies familiarity, and the reverse of this behavior implies either familial ties or a relationship. If two acquaintances were to willingly throw themselves into each other's arms with full force and intent in the context of a hug, then in these circumstances where such a thing could and did happen, that would be a signifier of a true bond forming in an instant. "Yes..." agreed Susumu, resting his head into Cassie's nuzzling, and returning the motion, too. "hugs are wonderful~"
He followed the sisters' information regarding their special devices well enough, and was getting eager to head outside to the point where he decided he wouldn't press on any other names they dropped, taking note of the name "Yuuki" for when he felt more at ease to engage in further conversation. He considered himself good at remembering names, each one now of great importance to him, now that he was more at leisure to make and meet friends than he had been not too much earlier in his life.
Being a little bit lost in thought for the moment caused him to fall behind on their way out of the city, but once he noticed they had gotten faster, Susumu began to feet the weight lifting from his own shoulders. Yes. He knew this place. Perhaps not this place in particular, but he knew open fields, amongst other untamed areas. "Hee hee! It's so nice out!" he would shout just loud enough while running through the fields with ease alongside his new friends.

"Hell yeah it is!" Ophelia would call alongside Susumu's shout, as the three of them would make their way across the fields. Ophelia and Susumu would end up running alongside eachother across the untamed grassy plains, though Cassie didn't seem to have all that easy of a time keeping up; having to push herself along with her flippers. "W-wait up a second, guys..!" She'd call to Ophelia and Susumu- to which the Spadamon would begin to gradually slow her pace, glancing back to her sister. "Oh, shit, right..." Ophelia would murmur to herself, laughing sheepishly as she scratched the back of her head.
Stepping back towards the Gomamon-X, Ophelia would kneel down closer to her level; reaching out to ruffle her fur. "Sorry, Cass; want me to carry you?" "Mmm..." Cassie would quietly hum to herself at first; both enjoying the touch, and thinking over Ophelia's offer. Eventually though, she would nod; smiling brightly. "Yeah, sure!" She'd chirp happily; devolving into Pukamon, so that Ophelia could easily carry the now In-Training Cassie, as the Spadamon resumed running after Susumu. All the whilst, Cassie would simply enjoy the wind that ruffled the fur atop her head; humming, and closing her eyes.
It didn't take long for Ophelia to find a spot to hunker down in, though; seeing a small hill with some bushes, and a single large tree, atop it. "How about we set up and eat over there?" Ophelia suggested to Susumu - pointing towards the hill in question. "Oooh, the tree looks like it'd provide some nice shade, once day rolls around!" Cassie commented with a bright smile; shifting a little in Ophelia's embrace, so as to get comfortable.

Susumu would also turn around to look when he realized he was also leaving Cassie behind. "Oh, how rude of me!" he would say, though he would eventually leave the situation to Ophelia, who knew much more about her own sister's likes and dislikes when it came to being led or carried. The Dracomon himself was considering devolving to Babydmon to float along as well, but he wasn't sure about that. He felt it would be rewarding to continue running along in the fields with his own two legs for the time being.
Susumu's eyes would sparkle when they arrived at the place they'd be settling down for the night. "This spot is perfect! I can tell! Even beyond the shade and all, it still seems perfect somehow!" He would proceed to run up to a spot somewhere on the grass, then walk around in a tight circle for a short time and sit down in a circular "sleeping" position, much like that of a dog, without actually sleeping. Shortly after, he would decide this had satisfied him that they had chosen a good spot, and stand up again. "Yep! I like it!"

Cassie was unable to help giggling in response to Susumu's response; mentioning "It's okay! I just have a harder time running on grass and concrete, than you guys do. I'm more used to water and ice or snow," with a warm smile. Ophelia would nod - adding "She doesn't really sink into the snow like you or me would; so she's a lot faster than we are. Her claws and flippers are good for keeping from slipping around on the ice, too." "Though I do love bellyflopping and sliding along on it, anyways...!" Cassie chirped with another giggle. Sliding around on the ice was fun, even if the others weren't as good at it!
Ophelia would chuckle a bit at the way that Susumu's eyes lit up, in regards to the spot that they had chosen to stay the night at. Indeed, it was a pretty nice spot; a large old -looking tree that they could sleep under, or sleep in the branches, of! Plus, given that it was on a bit of a hill, there was some elevation; allowing them to look out over the plains below. "Hell yeah; lets get comfy, then!" Ophelia remarked in response to Susumu's approval; Cassie hopping out of Ophelia's arms, so that she could digivolve back to her usual Gomamon-X form.
"I'll get out the tent, then!" Cassie would chirp, once she was on the ground; digging through the backpack that she had on. Pulling out an Infini-Store, she would begin to take out what looked to be a tent. Ophelia, frankly, didn't tend to find it utterly necessary - but it was part of the Advanced Exploration Kit that they had picked up for Cassie before, and Cassie seemed to get a kick out of putting everything to use, so... Why not? The two sisters would get to work on getting the tent ready; Ophelia meanwhile glancing to Susumu and asking "You got any preferences for food? We sort of picked up a variety from that bakery, and neither of us are picky, so..."

"Oooh! Belly-sliding sounds fun!" cheered Susumu. "I wanna try it some time!" He mulled over the idea in his head and spoke again. "Er, I would wanna try it some time, but... I... I just remembered that I can't really handle the cold." He would scratch the back of his head shyly as he said this.
It was true that the Dracomon was very fond of the place the trio had found to rest for the night, and shared the opinion that the tent wasn't exactly necessary. Nevertheless, it was a sight to behold! He watched in awe as Cassie pulled a tent out from something so small and began setting it up with Ophelia. How comfortable would this tent be?
Upon being asked about food, Susumu would shrug after a few seconds of deliberation. "There are a lot of things I haven't tried, and it all smelled pretty good! Whatever you have would be wonderful!"
