Rosewood Centerpiece (Mission) [Keramon, Mikazuki]

Rosewood Centerpiece With flaming hands cupped around a few glass sharps, Meramon exhaled a steady steam of hot air from his mouth, directly onto the broken pieces. His breath was so hot that it was capable of turning the glass from a solid to a liquid, and it did. The molten material pooled in his palms, unbearable to anyone who wasn't used to such insufferable heat, but it just another day on the job for Meramon. He began to twirl his hands, keeping the material warm as he worked it into something resembling an egg. It was coming along well before he groaned and tossed the semisolid project onto a nearby steel table, causing the half-formed blue egg to shatter from the impact.
"Oh, this is no good. I don't have enough to even make one Chibomon!" he huffed while walking toward the entrance of his workshop. The entrance was really more of a massive garage door, the large opening allowing the heat to vent outside and prevent the building from becoming an oversized oven. Just as Meramon reached the doorway, he turned and headed back inside. "Oh, dear. Oh, my... What to do, what to do?" he muttered as he turned on his heels and headed back to the opening again. He paced a few times, muttering to himself all the while, before gasping and lifting an index finger in the air as though he had been struck with an idea. "Yes, yes! That just might--" his entire body slumped suddenly. "No, that won't work."
With a sigh, Meramon pressed his hands against either side of his head and gingerly began massaging his temples. He walked outside, hoping the fresh air would do him good. Upon stepping through the doorway and seeing all the Digimon working diligently to help turn Rosewood into a proper town, he was struck with an idea. "Hello, good 'mon, might you be able to aid me for a quick spell or two?" he asked, waving at a nearby Burgamon who was busy delivering boxed meals to some construction workers. The tiny rookie gave an expression of apology before returning to what they were doing. "Yes, I understand. Good day to you," Meramon cheered with an awkward salute. He exhaled a quiet groan and glanced down the street to see if he could spot anyone who didn't look too busy to help.

Mika was completely amused by the sight of what appeared to be a living flame trying to sculpt with clay. Normally one would be like that due to schadenfreude or simply for a good chuckle, especially since clay needed to be moist to sculpt, but that was not the case for the boy-giant. Heck, Mika was secretly cheering for the sculptor as he watched from afar with Lopmon sleeping on his head!
And when the big Meramon called up, he was the first to answer, eagerly jumping to attend to the call (and nearly dropping Lopmon for the nth time in the process). "Hey! Do you need some help?!" he called out loudly, an eager smile plastered on his face.

Keramon didn't know exactly what it meant to be a sculptor or what it really entailed. How one could make an entire scupture out of glass was beyond her. In fact what did statues normally even look like? The small rabbit like tentacle monster brought the request up to their face again. Tilting it this way or that to try to get a better understanding of what was going to be asked of it.
No fighting or intimidating residents? Well it couldn't talk so maybe it'd scare them with it being too friendly? Be okay with getting their hands dirty? The keramon looked at their hands noting that they were indeed already quite filthy. Maybe the small squid like creature could use a bath or shower or something... She didn't know what clay looked like though and hoped lightly that the Meramon might let her know what exactly it would look like!
Was it possible for the small arms of this form to be able to transport building materials? She wasn't the strongest but she could fly... and maybe her abilities would be good for dealing with how to get clay? The keramon didn't really know and let out a small huff. The small rookie looked about as they stepped off of the train station. Rosewood had become quite a booming place hadn't it? She had heard it had started out pretty small... Even smaller than the small nameless towns that dotted the landscape in some places!
Keramon looked about for a little bit, failing to find the Meramon immediately. She'd of course eventually go back to the train station and hold up the request to someone. They'd give her an odd look... before pointing her in the right direction. Giving them a small apology and 'sorry' motion before floating off towards where she was to find the Meramon.
About five or so minutes later the rookie was greeted with the sight of a human... Or what she presumed to be a human greeting a meramon. A meramon that was looking around for people and even seemed to be wanting help from people. The keramon looked between the request and then the meramon, back to the request again and then back to the meramon. Yes this was who she was supposed to talk to. With a small wriggle of her body the keramon floated down giving a small wave to the both of them. She'd hold up the request to the meramon and point to herself to indicate she was here for the request.
While she was small, didn't look the strongest she would help! There was stuff she could find if they told her how to get to them... She'd turn her head without turning her body to look up at the human and gave a small smile to them. She didn't mind humans, they were tall. And usually nice. And usually gave good pats to mons. That and they had a partner that looked like a rabbit like she did so... This one couldn't be that bad?

Down the path a short ways was a tall human, sitting off to one side of the walkway and watching Meramon as he tried to enlist help from the busy Burgamon. Upon the human's head was a napping Lopmon, most likely his Digimon partner. The duo didn't appear to be doing anything other than people-watching and admiring the scenery. The gentle smile on the tamer's face made it clear to Meramon that these strangers had been watching him frantically pace around his workshop for the last few minutes. The flaming Digimon smirked. How funny he must've looked to the human. A burning man trying to sculpt. That was comical, especially if one didn't realize that the fire on his body only emitted heat when he wanted it to. Meramon motioned to the human, urging him to come closer. The human hopped to his feet, nearly causing his Lopmon companion to fall from his head in the process, and hurried over.
Before Meramon could even begin to utter his inquiry, the human beat him to it, asking if he needed any help. "Indeed I do, good man!" the sculptor mused. "If you and your friend would be so willing to help, I would forever be in your debt. For, you see, I am out of supplies to make my commission," he explained, pausing a moment to cup the side of his face in the palm of his right hand. "I am out of clay and very nearly out of glass. I can't very well bring my vision to light without them," he went on, shaking his head in disappointment. He lowered his hand from his face and shifted his gaze to a Keramon who was floating up to the trio. Another smile graced Meramon's face as he returned a wave, either not realizing that the newcomer was mute or not caring either way.
Keramon held up the request Meramon had sent out when his first version of the Rosewood statue was broken, then she pointed to herself, doing her best to indicate that his message was the reason she was here. Meramon laughed pleasantly and nodded in understanding. "Oh, how wonderful! I was quite afraid that my request had fallen on deaf ears," he chuckled, pleased that he now had two -- three, if they were counting the tired Lopmon -- people to help him find what he needed. "More the merrier, if you ask me. As I'm sure you saw in my message," he began, nodding to Keramon as he did, "I have no clay and am low on glass, two ingredients I need to make my dish exquise!" One thing was apparent: he was passionate about his art. He laughed softly again. "Oh, excusez-moi. Mixing metaphors."
"But I know what you might be thinking, 'Why not get them yourself?' And I would, my lovely 'mons..." he paused a moment to look at the human, "...and man, but you see, I cannot dig around in rivers without bringing harm to myself." He crossed his arms over his chest then, frowning as he did. "An artist must suffer for his work, I understand this undeniable truth, but if I were to expire before my art was complete-" he gasped in horror and looked between the trio of helpers before him, "Oh! Perish the thought! I would normally hop to the next town over to purchase what I need, you see, but I haven't any money. I was short on Bits before this job found me, and after acquiring the workshop, the tools, the... Well, you see what I mean, I'm sure." Meramon sighed, "This, of course, means I may not be able to pay you for your efforts. Would you still help this poor, struggling artist?"

Oh, the typical notion of payment. Why did people only do things for money was something Mikazuki simply couldn't bring himself to comprehend! Sure, part of it was simply that the boy-giant was brought up in an environment where such a thing was never a concern, but most of it came from the fact he simply wanted to be nice and helpful. Weird though it may be, it was better than sitting around doing nothing all day.
So without any further prompt, Mikazuki nodded enthusiastically, dropping Lopmon face-first onto the ground. "Oops, sorry Lop-chan!" he apologized picking up the grumpy bunny, who was already starting his usual tangents on manners and how Mika should be careful, but the blonde was in too good a mood to actually care for it. "But yeah, you got it Mera-Chan! We'll get you as much Clay as you need in no time!"
the Bunny Digimon agreed to it with a nod. "It is for a noble cause, so I pledge myself to your services as well, Meramon." Pompous as it sounded, at least the bunny was eager to help too. "Do you have a cart or something we can use to carry clay for you?"

The keramon tilted her head a bit and slowly blinked, the meramon certainly was a chatty kathy wasn't he? The keramon let out a soft hum, unsure of how to really motion to explain herself past what she had. So instead she put those big ears of hers to use! The meramon explaining crystal clear what he needed and what he wanted from them. The keramon's smile split ear to ear and she'd nod time and time again.
They wanted clay, they wanted glass. They needed both, glass was something you got from refining sand and clay was a workable material. So it'd make sense he'd want something hard and something soft! The keramon leaned a bit to poke at the meramon's body, he was made out of fire? Then came following the fact he was short on bits... as he had to purchase tools.
Keramon's mouth faltered a little bit and she felt her stomach protest at the idea for working for free. She'd put a hand to her stomach, frowning slightly and then letting out a sigh. She did say she'd take the job but... Well it was going to be difficult fishing in the streams that she wasn't familiar in!
Regarldess she folded the request up and slid it back into where she had pulled it out of. Clasping her hands together and giving the Meramon a bow. Her body taking on that brilliant light of digivolution to allow herself a bit more 'room' to work with. As her keramon form was fairly weak in terms of physical nature. Her antylamon form was far better suited for it and would likely be better at digging with her large hands. The tall rabbit gave a thumbs up and then made a motion to indicate which way they should go, as if asking for directions...

The human was more eager to help than the Keramon was, but Meramon wasn't going to force her is she didn't want to work for no reward. It wasn't fair of him to assume anyone would, though the assistance would've been greatly appreciated. If he was able to make this statue and deliver it to the center of town without it breaking a second time, the Rosewood council would pay him handsomely. He planned to split the money between himself and anyone who helped, but he didn't want to promise something he may not have been able to deliver on. Bad luck had struck once before, so there was a chance it'd strike again. No good would come from getting his hopes up, but it was difficult, especially when the human was smiling so much. The tamer was determined to help, even when his Digimon partner was scolding him. "That's the spirit, my good man!" Meramon laughed when the human agreed to help.
Then came another problem, a problem Meramon hadn't considered until the tamer brought it to his attention. How would they carry the clay and glass? The human suggested a cart or some other vehicle of transportation. Meramon's sewn mouth shifted from an enormous smile to a frown in a matter of seconds. "Oh, dear. I'm afraid I have no such thing. When I came to Rosewood, I carried what little belongings I had and ordered additional supplies to be delivered to my workshop." He fell silent for a moment of consideration. "I suppose you all could carry the raw materials to my workshop, but that'd be quite the feat for a group of your... size," he muse, deep in thought. As if on cue, the Keramon bowed and began to digivolve in a brilliant flash of light. When the light dispersed, an Antylamon was left behind, smaller than most others of her kind but still large nevertheless.
"Magnifique!" Meramon exclaimed as he stared at the Champion level Digimon, a smile having since returned to his face. "A stunning display, my good 'mon! It warms my inflamed heart to see you so willing and eager to help." When the tall rabbit silently asked where they ought to go, Meramon nodded to show he understood what she was asking. "I know the location of a stream where clay and river glass can be obtained, though it's some ways away," he confessed, sounding a little defeated as he mentioned the distance. Digimon had transported larger quantities of heavier equipment over greater distances, but these three were offering to help free of charge. Meramon couldn't, in good conscience, force them to slave away without at least offering some alternative solution.
"I think the human may've been onto something," Mermon said, pausing a moment as he looked to the tamer with an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, I don't believe I caught your name. Please, we're gentlemon, after all. A proper introduction is in order. I am Meramon, and you are...?" he asked, a playful grin lingering on his lips as he waited for the human to introduce himself too. Once the pleasantries were out of the way, Meramon returned to the matter at hand. "Now then, what was I saying?" There was a brief silence. "...Oh, yes! Barrows. I believe the workers might have something like that. What do you think, my loves? Socialize with the working class or manage by ourselves?" he asked while glancing expectantly between Mikazuki, Lopmon, and Antylamon.

"Well, this is gonna be hard... but we're still gonna do it!" Mikazuki nodded after Meramon informed them of the fact they'd have to carry the mud and glass by hand from the stream, which covered quite a long path. Sure, he didn't mind getting his clothes dirty most of the time, but now he'd have to wash them by hand.
Sweet! He'd have to learn how to do it after so long! Good thing his nanny showed him the basics at least!
The moment only got better when Keramon took it upon herself to show the duo another step of evolution in their species, turning into an Andiramon right before them, bedazzling both Tamer and Partner as they beheld the spectacle with wide eyes and mouth agape. Mikazuki finding it both awesome and adorable and screaming such as he jumped on the giant rabbit's leg and hugged it. "Oh my god, you're adorable!"
Meanwhile, Lopmon was more bedazzled by the fact that the form was all too familiar for him. "If you can become such a glorious beast, does that mean-" His eyes widened even further as the realization came along and he could only nod to himself. "Mika, you must use your Digivice on me at this very moment!"
"My what now?" The blonde asked, confused, rubbing the back of his head to emphasize the point and letting go of Antylamon, prompting the smaller bunny to facepalm.
"The thing you found on the river?"
"Ohhhhhh! Okay!" Mika nodded and pulled off his digivice and pointed it at the bunny, who closed his eyes as a sudden noise left the device and light shot out of it. "Lopmon digivolve toooooooo-" the Digimon exclaimed as its form suddenly grew larger and a semblance of clothes began forming on its body. "Turuiemon!" And as the now much less cute voice came up, Mika could only droll as the bunny emerged in a much more anthropomorphic figure, clad in a yellow Kimono and wielding a pair of Katars. Its ears were much smaller now, taking the appearance of a pair of sashes, and its fur has changed to purple.
Turuiemon could only look at himself appraisingly. "Not bad, but I was expecting a bit more..." he commented, looking over at Mika and patting his waist as the boy-giant apologized with a sad frown. "Don't look like that, Mikazuki. You did what you could. Soon, we WILL reach our apex and i'll make sure to help you all the way as we cleanse the land of all the filth in it!"
"Ok!" Mika nodded, not getting the hidden meaning behind the sentence, prompting the perceptive ninja to just roll his eyes. "Let us hence then."

The antylamon felt a blush spread across her face as the Meramon complimented her; she'd manage a small but somewhat stiff bow. Her awkwardness knew no bounds as she wasn't used to this sort of thing. She'd turn her head to where the meramon gestured to where they would find their 'prize' of sorts. She stayed mostly motionless as the meramon continued to speak, the little flicks of her ears being the only indication that she was still listening.
She was thinking, anaylizing, there was a small furrow of her brow and a mighty hand came up to rub at her chin. Though this thoughtfulness was interrupted as she was hugged by the human. Her face turned bead red and the digimon shifted somewhat awkwardly. She didn't know how to reciprocate this, but she'd slowly reach down to pat the human's head.
And upon seeing the lopmon turn into a Turuiemon the anytlamon shifted a bit, leaning this way or that as they inspected their newfound companion's form. She'd take the opportunity to stretch, silently groaning as her muscles seemed to ache from never being used. She didn't have legs or nearly as powerful arms in her other form so... There were muscles she didn't know how to use and length of arms that she didn't know either. With a small huff the mon took a moment to consider the meramon's last query.
She'd thump her chest twice and give a small thumbs up, she would be fine carrying stuff like this. A wheelbarrel would be helpful for mons that couldn't carry a lot and well... Anytlamon was a heavy duty lifter by nature! She'd motion towards the river and give a small smile, she figured they wouldn't need it with two champions but...
She'd make the motions next of the wheelbarrel, indicating that she could carry. Then followed by the motion of dropping it and giving a wipe of her brow. They should really only use the 'working class' tools if they tired out. It was better to not waste precious resources if they were needing to be used elsewhere!

Meramon paused in the middle of his spiel to watch the tamer and the Lopmon discuss what digivices and digivolution were. They were so thoroughly engrossed in their own conversation that the human didn't even introduce himself when Meramon asked for the human's name. But that was alright. Meramon could understand how exciting and distracting digivolution could be, especially for Digimon who'd never transformed before and for humans who'd never witnessed such a thing. And there was no denying that Lopmon's evolution to Turuiemon was quite a spectacle. Unlike his two long-eared companions, however, Meramon didn't strive for adventure, strength, and growth. He was content in his current form. That is, he was normally content. In that moment, though, he wished more than anything that he could turn into an Ultimate-level that wasn't totally engulfed in fire.
But there was no use lingering on "what ifs." What mattered was the here and now, and at that moment, Meramon learned that the human's name was "Mikazuki," for that was what the Turuiemon called him. As their conversation died down, Meramon finished what he was saying, drawing attention to the possibility of the group borrowing wheelbarrows from the construction workers in town. Mikazuki excitedly urged them to "hence" and Antylamon pounded her chest before giving two thumbs-up, conveying that she was strong enough to lug the materials by herself. They all appeared ready and willing to get to work at that very moment, fully believing that they didn't need any equipment to help them transport the raw materials.
Meramon offered a small smile when the Antylamon pointed toward the river and mimed out the act of carrying something and wiping sweat from her brow. For a brief moment, Meramon reconsidered what he previously thought the rabbit Digimon was conveying. It now seemed like she was saying that carrying everything by hand would be exhausting. The sculptor stroked his chin, a subtle smirk still on his face as he tried to connect the dots. The chest-thump definitely seemed like she was confident in her own strength. "No wheelbarrow...?" he inquired. The pantomiming was probably some sort of follow-up thought to her initial idea. "...Unless you all get too tired?"
He waited a moment for confirmation before laughing joyously. "Ah, very well! I suppose there is nothing left for us here then. Let us commence!" he chimed, putting one hand on his hip and swatting at the air in front of his face with the other, as though he was flipping non-existent hair in a dramatic fashion. With that, he began making his way down the street, waving and saying "good morning" to all he passed along the way. It didn't take long for the group to make it outside of Rosewood, and Meramon paused as he reached the end of an unfinished road. He glanced back to make sure all his comrades were still with him and, if they were, he would proceed to ask, "Now then, does anyone have any stories to share as we walk to our destination?"

"Well, there's always how we got to the digital world!" As was the norm by then, Mikazuki was the first to chime in with a tale to regale his current travel partners while Turuiemon followed along, appraising the blades on his arms without comment (at least for now). "It all started back at the Shibuya River. My friends and I went there for a swim at the only clean part of the river. Like, seriously, that river is-"
And THEN Turuiemon cut in. "More polluted than Jokermon's damned, sinful soul?" The bunny declared proudly, prompting Mikazuki to sigh. "Y'know, Lop-chan, one of these days, Joker-chan will really get pissed off at you being so mean."
The bunny scoffed. "When such a time comes, I shall rend him asunder in divine retribution and scatter his ashes to the winds!"
Mikazuki chuckled in clear discomfort as his zealot of a partner's threat and spoke a little more loudly, desperately seeking to shift away the tension from the bunny's words. "ANYWAAAAAAAY! Yuu-chan, Junpei-kun and I dived in and we were having a good time for a while, until we found these!" he flashed them his golden Digivice, tossing it upwards and catching it on a quick motion before continuing. "But then, out of the blue, BAM! The portal appears at the bottom of the river and sucks us all in! AND WE WERE ALL JUST IN SWIMGEAR!" The boy giant emphasized. "Then we found this fluffy bunny, Scout-Chan and Joker-chan, or rather, Drac-chan!" Immediately as he said that, Mika captured Turuiemon as if the ninja was a plushie and hugged him so strongly that the bunny was forced to gasp for air. "But we were attacked by a meanie giant wendigo who wanted to eat us!"

Upon verifying that Mikazuki, Turuiemon, and Anytlamon were with him, Meramon began leading the way away from Rosewood. Though both rabbit Digimon remained silent, the human claimed that he had a story to share, and Meramon encouraged him on with a smile and a nod. "Oh, yes! How you got to the digital world? Humans had such interesting tales when it comes to their first journey here. Please, regale me with the details of your expedition!" he mused. And with that, the tamer began by explaining how he and his friends went swimming in Shibuya River, a river which was apparently more polluted than "Jokermon's damned, sinful soul." Meramon proceeded to laugh at the banter that followed, even though the partners' conversation wasn't exactly comical; he was enjoying the dialogue, and the playful back-and-forth between Digimon and tamer was always an amusing sight to behold.
Mikazuki returned to his story with a loud exclamation and went on to explain how he first found his digivice, something that he flashed to the party as though to prove that he wasn't making things up. The device was a palm-sized gold machine, the appearance of which fascinated Meramon. He'd only seen digivices in passing, and even those occurrences were few and far between. Seeing one this close and in such detail inspired him. He wondered how he might go about sculpting one. A clay base and some paints, maybe. Should be easy enough, he told himself. It didn't look like digivices had too many intricate parts. That made sense. They were created for functionality and durability, not aesthetics. Still, Meramon was confident he'd be able to create a faithful yet beautiful replica if he ever needed to.
After a few moments, Mikazuki continued his tale. Meramon gasped and widened his eyes at the "Bam!" He was getting invested in the story, even if the human was skipping over a lot of the little details. Apparently, when Mikazuki and his friends were swimming, a portal opened up and transported all of them to the digital world. "Oh, my! You must have been so frightened," Meramon pointed out, though it was mostly under his breath to ensure he did not interrupt the story. It was apparently then in the story that Mikazuki met his Digimon partner. Meramon's smile returned as he watched the human embrace the Turuiemon, but the smile was once again replaced a surprised, almost horrified expression when Mikazuki exclaimed that they were attacked by a giant wendigo that wanted to eat them. "Oh, dear me! However did you manage to escape!?" Meramon gasped through sewn lips.

Lopmon looked utterly proud of himself when Mika spoke up about it. "Well, our fuzzy buddy here saved us along with Scout-chan and Jokah-chan! It was something like I'd only seen on TV shows before! Like, sure, mom never let me watch violent shows because she takes those ratings extremely seriously, but it was still as cool as the stuff I COULD watch!"
One thing to note about the boy's speech was how it increased in volume and excitement when he began retelling his few, but informative, adventures across the digital landscape, paying no attention to where he was going, while Turuiemon was very engrossed in the surroundings, making up for how absent-minded his tamer was about the whole deal. The four wondered deep into the forest and were on their way to the river by the time the golden-haired youth finally stopped talking.

Keramon didn’t really have anyway of telling a story; but she decided for the most part to listen to what they had to say. Her large floppy ears flicking slightly and the antylamon looked between the three curiously. Something about divine retribution? The rabbit looked confused and gave a small curious headtilt at such a thing. What did they mean by that? The bunny didn’t know and she couldn’t help but shake her head and give a small smile as they continued on.
Though while the trio continued to talk to one another the rabbit pondered her own journies as limited as they had been. Past whitewater and rosewood the rabbit mon hadn’t been to any actual city or have any real adventures. She fished, she picked berries and this was the first time that she’d do anything ‘exciting’.
Though as they continued on into the forest the rabbit perked a bit, her ears flicking to and fro as best they could. Honestly with such massive ears… It was kind of hard to control where they properly listened to. Just another reason why the antylamon body wasn’t exactly her prefered motion but…
She had to admit that she liked being able to walk with these three; her long strides made it a lot easier to keep up or even lead them. Though unlike most antylamon she wasn’t anywhere near as massive, only standing a few heads taller than the human! She’d rub at her neck a bit and sheepishly smile at the three of them. She’d make a motion with her hand to indicate a book opening and closing, a hand coming up to her ear and then a small shrug. She didn’t have much to tell them but she didn’t mind listening to their stories! She’d look around curiously, wondering how long it’d be before they’d come to where they needed to go...

Mikazuki humored Meramon by explaining how he was rescued by his "fuzzy buddy" and two other individuals. He compared it to something out of a TV show, but not a violent one. That was something he made abundantly clear. The sculptor chuckled lightly at this comment, amused by both the human's minor rant about how few shows he was actually allowed to watch and how strict his mom was about ratings. The subject of having a mom, or a parent at all, was foreign to many Digimon, for most were created, hatched, and raised in The Village Of The Beginnings. The only parental figure most Digimon ever got to have was Cherrymon, the guardian of the village. Meramon had fond memories of being a young Mokumon and racing up to the Ultimate Digimon in search for comfort or protection. Ah, to reminisce!
That was a major part of why he wanted the Rosewood sculpture to be a perfect representation of Cherrymon. It would be one of the first things visitors saw upon entering the town of Rosewood, and since most of the visitors would be young Digimon heading out into the world from The Village of Beginnings, he wanted them to see something that would bring them a sense of security, comfort, and familiarity. Even though Cherrymon wasn't actually in Rosewood, Meramon hoped that his likeness alone would bring the same sort of a fondness that was apparent in Mikazuki's voice when he spoke of his mother. Cherrymon had been a bit strict at times too, but he loved all the young Digimon under his care nonetheless.
By the time the tamer concluded his story, the party had made it about roughly halfway to their destination. Meramon knew this, for they had entered the forest. The river was nestled deep inside the thicket, not so deep that the sunlight no longer shined, but certainly in an area most Digimon rarely ventured. Embers floated upward off of Meramon's body, sizzling out as soon as they touched the branches and leaves overhead, rather than catching them on fire as one might have expected. "That was quite the story, my good man! Thank you for sharing," Meramon chimed with a large smile on his face. "We're halfway now. Another story ought to get us there."
With that, he glanced between his three other companions, though his white eyes lingered on the Antylamon for a few moments longer, silently expecting her to start sharing a story of her own. He didn't mind this game of charades, especially if it was the only way she could communicate. However, she seemed perfectly content listening to her companions' stories instead, a sentiment she pantomimed out with little problem. Meramon nodded and chuckled again, "I understand, my friend. Not to fret!" He turned back to Mikazuki. "Unless you have another to share, I believe I have a story of my own. A story about loss and discovery, youth and growth, and the power of friendship. But I am no storyteller, especially not one as fantastique as you, so I do not wish to take the spotlight so hastily," he exclaimed, equally excited about the prospect of hearing a story as he was about telling a story.
