Demi toppled over and Ravenna slammed into the ground, nearly being crushed as Demi fell. Pickle would have felt bad about that if they'd had time, and probably would later, but as Demi flipped onto his back they were just a touch too slow in letting go and found themself lifted off their feet just slightly. It was enough, however, to compound with their reduced reaction time and allow them to be hit with Demi's attempts to kick them away. As they were flung back with a startled yelp, their speed was then further enhanced by Ravenna's Psychic Blast as it caught them at a poor time, flinging them even further. The combination of impacts, exhaustion from their first Spirit Evolution, and surprise at finding themself suddenly flying through the air for a moment caused them to lose their hold on their Labramon form. A Burst of swirling light and suddenly it was a very human Pickle tumbling across the ground before settling in a heap of dust covered limbs.
For a moment they were still, just trying to catch their breath and get their bearings, before they rolled over slightly onto their back with a groan. Blinking and willing their eyes to focus, they began to laugh as they lay there, a bit bruised, tired, but overall perfectly fine. After another few moments of just getting the giggles out from the adrenaline, they pull themself into a sitting position, beaming at their friends. Their hair was a mess, their clothes covered in grass and dirt from the tumble they had taken, but they had that familiar happy gleam in their eye and that same wide smile that hardly ever seemed to leave their face.
"That was really, really fun! I'm exhausted, is it like this all the time?"

After almost crushing Ravenna under his arm, the MetalMeramon barely saw Pickle flying through the air as his first kick hit the poor girl. Seeing them get hit made Desmond worry a lot as he dashed toward them to see if they were alright. The blond tamer went closer to Pickle who has been Digivolved back into a human and was now covered in dust on the ground. Demi was still trying to kick the air for a bit longer before realizing that he was just kicking the air now. Moving his head just a bit on the right, he saw his tamer run pass him with rather high speed. The Digimon then looked at Ravenna and then tried to find Pickle as he lifted his body off the ground. It was only after seeing them on the ground that he Digivolved back into his default form in a flash of light.
"Ravenna?" He asked while trying to see where she was now. His memory of him Digivolving was always a bit blurry but he did recall throwing the Psycrowmon to the ground and felt rather bad about it. "Where are you?" The fireball began spinning on himself looking for her. It would take him a few more seconds before finally seeing the spirit user. "I'm sorry!" He began shouting as he tried to get closer for a hug. He would try to hold on the hug as long as he could.
By then, Desmond was now next to them and making sure that they were okay. The Frenchman quickly looked at her face to see if there were any blood but from someone that got kicked pretty hard, they seemed to be pretty alright if with some bruises. "Are you okay?" Desmond asked as he offered them a hand. He would wait for Pickle to take his hand before dusting their hair with the other hand. "You got me worried there, Pickle." He said as he gave them a soft pat on the shoulder. "Glad to see that you are laughing though." The blond tamer smiled and even laughed a bit with them. It looked like they are going to be just fine.
"Pickle!" Demi's voice was quite loud as he floated toward his tamer and the new spirit user. The fire Digimon wasn't very fast so it took him a bit longer to reach them. "I'm sorry!" Again, he wasn't quite sure of how the training bout ended but he did recall kicking them maybe too hard. The Digimon had both hands in the air while floating and shouting their name. "Pickle!" Demi shouted again as if he didn't have their attention yet. Desmond would wait for his partner to get closer to them as he went for a hug. Again, he would hold on to his hug until Pickle would try to get away from his very tight hug.
"Well, to be honest, fights get a lot more violent than this one." He said as he then went looking for Ravenna by turning his head to one side. "I'm glad that no one got hurt, well, not that hurt." He paused to see if both spirit users were here. "Are you alright, Ravenna?" Desmond asked with a bit concerned. He knew that she might have suffered less damage but that slam was still pretty bad. "Let's take a moment to breathe." The tamer lowered himself to the ground and pat the DemiMeramon on his head. "It's all good, Demi. They aren't mad at you." The fireball looked up at with teary eyes feeling guilty. "Are you sure?" He asked shyly as he quickly turned his attention to Ravenna and then Pickle. "You can ask them." The Frenchman then said with a smile.

The Spirit Users had coordinated well against the Champion level, up until the end. Pickle was still off balance after tipping over Demi, and Ravenna's Psychic Blast sent Labramon flying and sliding in the dirt. Pickle returns to her human form, battered and bruised. Ravenna's heart sinks seeing Pickle injured by Raye's own attack. Ravenna quickly deactivates her Spirit form, appearing sitting on the ground. "Pickle!" Raye gets up and takes a few steps closer, but Pickle is smiling and giggling. There is a sigh of relief knowing Pickle is alright and enjoying herself.
Demi devolves down and shows great concern for the Spirit Users. The fireball hurries up to Ravenna and goes for a hug. Ravenna happily hugs Demi tight, ensuring that she is alright. Demi holds on the hug for a while, catching Ravenna off guard just how much Demi cares. "It's alright, Demi. Just part of training." Demi would also give Pickle a big hug. Ravenna felt bad seeing just how upset Demi was getting rough with his new friends. A smile stretches across Ravenna's pale and slightly pink cheeks, relieved everyone is okay and still coming down from the rush of battling.
"I'm glad everyone is alright. Demi, you got the worst of it. Sorry my crows and I were such a nuisance." Desmond was also concerned with the girls. Ravenna had a few scrapes and bruises of her own from the impact, but it was expected, and nothing compared to the injuries suffered in a difficult fight. Desmond ask Ravenna if she is alright. "Yes, I'll be fine, Desmond. Just roughed up a bit, part of the job. It's worth it once in a while for a fun time."
Pickle wonders if it was like this all the time when battling. Desmond is honest and admits it gets a lot tougher than this. "Desmond is right. It can be fun, but most battles will lead to a lot worse injuries." Ravenna can hardly control her excitement, and goes on about their battle. "That was so much fun! My crows and I were dive bombing Demi, and Pickle was getting in some nice shots. Then Demi used that steam, and I didn't know what the hell I was going to do. Then Pickle actually grabbed Demi's leg and knocked him over! Maybe I should trim my tail feathers."
Ravenna turns to Demi and smiles. "You don't have to worry, I could tell that you were holding back. You let go before I hit the ground. I may be small and fluffy as a bird, but I'm a lot tougher than I look. That attack still rocked me good though." Ravenna sits down and crosses her legs, leaning back on her palms, still catching her breath.

"I'm good, I'm good. Tired and a little sore, but I'm fine. Haaaaaa...." They flopped back gown onto the ground, arms played out at their sides. "Makes sense that real fights would be a lot more dangerous, but still, thanks for letting me give it a try. This'll be helpful for whenever I run into trouble later." Pickle knew they would too, they knew that sooner rather than later they'd get involved in a conflict of some sort. Demi's panic called them out of their brief musings on what might be ahead of them, and they pushed themself up onto their elbows in time to see Demi hug Ravenna and the older girl reassuring the little ball of sunshine and kindness. And then Demi came zooming over to them for a hug that Pickle was all too willing to return.
"I'm fine, You didn't hurt me at all I was just getting tired! It was pretty fun actually." They gave him a little squeeze and let him keep the hug going for as long as he wanted as they looked at Ravenna.
"That was really really cool, we worked together pretty well! Could you even trim your spirit's tail feathers? Wouldn't they just be back the next time?" They were very curious about whether or not anything could hold over between spirit evolutions. "Actually, I don't really have any bruises or anything I don't think, just a faint soreness that I think is mostly because of how tired I am. Do injuries not carry over?" If that was the case that'd be useful, but it could also just be that they hadn't taken damage serious enough to appear on her human body as well.
"I'm sorry I worried you guys at the end there, I probably pushed myself a little to far for my first go at it but I was having a lot of fun actually. Sparring with your friends is nice, I've never done it before and I'm glad I had a chance to." They were grinning again by the end, emotion swimming in their eyes as happy tears threatened to fall. "Thanks for helping me, for introducing me to this world. I just.... thanks."

Demi was very happy to know that both spirit users were not mad at him and that they were alright. He was still sobbing and was trying to convince himself that he did not hurt the two ladies. He began to sniff and look at the ground even when both of them told him that it was okay. Seeing his partner being so sad, Desmond crouched down to wipe off the tears from his big blue eyes. "There, don't cry." The tamer said before taking him into his arms. The fireball sniffed for a second before nodding and resting his face on the Frenchman's torso. "It's okay, Demi." It would only take a few more seconds before turning around to see the two girls and his smile came back slowly. "I'm sorry!" He said out loud once more.
Desmond laughed a bit when Pickle said that they are going to run into trouble. The blond tamer wasn't sure when they would try to come back here, probably alone as well. All he knew is that they sure didn't lack motivation. He would have told them to take it slow for now but he kind of knew that they would come back to the Digital World pretty soon. The Frenchman sighed and then smiled. Maybe he should let them enjoy this moment for now. "Well, I hope that you won't get in any trouble." He said after clearing his voice. "I would suggest to maybe run before trying to fight. Espicially if you are going to face a Digimon as big as Demi's champion form. Most of them, well the wild ones, will not pull any punches." Not that he didn't think that Pickle wouldn't be able to defend themself but he felt that he still should advise them to try the running tactic first.
"Also... We might need to tidy you up..." He slowly said seeing how Pickle was covered in dust and leaves. "Otherwise, you might get in trouble when you go home." Not that they could do much about her clothing but they could at least pat off more of the dirt and leaves. "There should be water in the Village. To clean your hands and face." He then looked at Ravenna and saw that she seemed to be pretty clean compared to the younger spirit user. "Can I play with the water?" Demi then asked with enthusiasm. "Only if don't try to drink it and jump in it, okay?" The Digimon nodded and threw his arms into the air. "Yay!"
"Oh, I should also tell you that time goes slower in here than in our world." He felt that he needed to clarify that in case that Pickle would be worry about going home in time. "I'm not sure how much slower but yeah, you shouldn't be late if you have a curfew." And with that said, Desmond went toward Ravenna with a smile. "Thanks for not going too hard on Demi." He whispered so that Demi wouldn't hear them. He knew that the more experienced spirt user could have gone way much harder on his partner. The fireball was too busy giggling in anticipation of playing with water than he did not hear his tamer whispering to the lady.
"Alright, can you walk, Pickle?" Desmond asked as he turned his attention to them. "It's not very far and I can carry you on my back if you feel weak." The tamer was in top shape seeing that he didn't have to fight and they didn't seem to be heavy at all. "Don't feel bad if you can't walk." He paused to put Demi on the ground and wait for Pickle to see if she would take his offer to carry them or not. When Demi got off Desmond's arms, the Digimon went toward Ravenna and extended his arms toward her. "Can I carry you?" He said with an innocent smile. To be honest, he knew that he couldn't be he always tries to do what his tamer do. "I am very strong!"

Pickle wasn't hurt that bad from their practice battle. The young girl had so much fun fighting as a Digimon for the first time. "Real battles will be tougher, but this was an ideal step towards fighting." One didn't have to go looking for trouble in the Digital World; sooner or later, trouble comes along.
Pickle asks Ravenna if she even could trim her tail feathers. Would it stay like that the next time she transformed? She also asks if injuries carry over. "Good question, I've never tried that before. I imagine they would be shorter for a while. As far as injuries carrying over, they are never as severe as they are in Digital form. Usually after a tough fight, I'm too injured to continue on fighting. Give it some time, and some food, and Spirit Users will be back to normal."
Demi is upset, concerned that he hurt the girls. Seeing Demi so sad turned Raye's joy into sorrow. The fireball apologizes again, being comforted by his Tamer Desmond. "It's absolutely alright, Demi. You don't have to worry. We both had a lot of fun!" Desmond mentions it might be better to run rather than fight, especially if there is a hostile Digimon at a higher level. "I agree, do not fight a higher level Digimon unless flight is not an option. This friendly battle was an exception, and at least we had the numbers advantage."
There was still the matter of getting Pickle cleaned up before she returns home. Ravenna isn't sure what her friends want to do next. Desmond suggests getting some water, and Demi is excited to play in the water. A fire Digimon playing in water? "I'd love to get some water. That battle made me thirsty." While Demi is giggling looking forward to playing in the water, Desmond whispers to Ravenna, thanking her for not going too hard on Demi. Ravenna smiles and nods her head. "No worries, the goal was to train Pickle." There wasn't much Raye could have done differently in her Sprite Spirit form against the Champion level if she was fighting for real. Creating distractions worked well.
Desmond offers to carry Pickle, and Demi offers to carry Ravenna. Feeling a little fatigued, Raye decides to let Demi carry her again. "Alright, you can carry me. I just don't want to get in the habit of being carried all the time, but I do appreciate it!" Ravenna lifts herself up by pushing with her palms and grabs onto Demi as the fireball carries her in his arms. "You are certainly the friendliest fire Digimon I have met."
Pickle was very grateful for her new friends introducing her to this world. It had to be overwhelming taking all this in, in only a day. "I'm glad we could help, Pickle. You've had an exciting day, that's for sure. Thank you all for a wonderful time!" Ravenna hugs Demi tight, pressing the side of her face against the warm fireball.

"Oh! Well that's good to know. I don't really have a curfew right now, my parents aren't home." They shrugged, beginning to brush off their arms as they spoke. "They won't be around for a few weeks still I think, and then they'll probably be heading off again after a bit. They trust me not to, you know, stay out too late or skip school and stuff when they're away. That's great that time is slower here though, means there's more time to explore!" Pickle undid their ponytail and started dragging their fingers through their hair to pick out leaves and twigs and other things that they'd picked up during their little tumble. "I think cleaning up before I go home would be nice though..."
Ravenna's words about injuries and such were very interesting to them. "Maybe you can try trimming just one small feather first just in case it does stick? You wouldn't want to accidentally mess up your ability to fly or anything if it does. Injuries not carrying over as much is... really useful though. Just in case you know? I wouldn't want to worry anyone if I got into a bad fight and got really hurt and then had school the next day or my parents were around to see me hurt. That would be bad, they already have a lot on their plates." Their tone was thoughtful, but still pretty casual, as if the thought of taking bad enough injuries that they'd need to cover them up carefully wasn't a bother to them at all. In fact Pickle seemed more concerned over worrying others than the idea that they might be seriously injured themself.
"I'll try to avoid anything that'd be too much for me, and at worst I'm pretty good at running away so... I think I should be okay. Thank you for worrying though, it means a lot!"
Desmond's offer to carry them caused them to pause for just a moment, thinking over their own exhaustion. "I... yeah I think I'll take you up on that Des, thank you. I don't think I could get very far just yet, I'm still really shaky. It was fun though! I'd like to do it again some time if we can, or go adventuring together or something!" They carefully clambered up onto Desmond's back, arms locked around his neck while being careful not to choke the older man. "Thank you again, both of you. This was nice."

As much as Demi wanted to be able to carry Ravenna, the little fireball couldn't even lift her off the ground. That didn't mean that he was trying. All he did was to try to get the lady in black just an inch above ground but did not succeed. Desmond saw that and chuckled a bit. "It's okay, Demi." He quietly said. The Digimon looked a bit sad upon realizing that he wasn't as strong as his tamer in this form. "How about you let Ravenna carry you instead?" The Frenchman then proposed as Pickle climbed onto his back. Being much smaller, Desmond had to bend his knees a bit so that she didn't have to jump too high to get her arms around his neck. After seeing the blond tamer carry the new Spirit user, Demi looked at Ravenna and began poking her leg. "Can you carry me?" He asked with puppy eyes.
"Alright, let's go." Desmond said before making their way toward the village. He would walk at a casual pace while keeping an eye on Ravenna and Demi. It wouldn't take long for them to reach the said village and find a mid-size fountain with some baby Digimon around it. Once Demi got closer, he would go at the edge of the fountain and poke the water. A bit of steam disappeared into the air making the fireball giggle. It was a strange sensation but still funny to him. "Ravenna! Pickle!" He then shouted as he turned around to face the two girls. "It's cold!" It was actually not that cold at all, it just felt cold to him.
The blond tamer would let Pickle hop off his back a few feet away from the fountain so that they could go toward it by themself. Desmond would stay there with a smile on his face as Demi poked the water once more. It was easy to see that the Digimon was having a lot of fun doing something to simple as poking. "Don't fall in it, Demi." Upon hearing that, Demi turned to look at his tamer and nodded. "I won't!" He shouted a bit too loud.
After giving some time to the two Spirit users to wash or drink or do anything else, Desmond would stay silent for a moment as he took out his cellphone. As usual, the clock on the cellphone wasn't working. All he could see are things that do not look like numbers. He forgot what time it was before going into the Digital world but Pickle did say that they weren't in a hurry to go back home. Letting the girls enjoy each other company, the blond tamer would wait a bit longer before going toward them careful to not disturb them if they were in the middle of a conversation.
"Well, if you want to come back here, you will need to go through the train station." It was strange that there's Trailmon that goes there but logic didn't always work in here. "It's the safest way to come here. It will take you to the Terminus City which is very safe." He paused for a moment to put his cellphone into his pocket. "I would suggest to go visit it and not get too far away from it if you want to come here on your own. It's a pretty big city and stuff to do. Also, you might want to keep all of that secret in our world. I'm not sure how people would react and I would hate to see you get in trouble by telling the wrong guy that there's a whole other world filled with Digimon."
"Alright, I'll open a Digi-port that will lead us to the Terminus City when you are ready. That way you will know where it leads into our world next time you want to get back in here." And after saying that, the Frenchman went toward his little partner and lift him into his arms. "I'll make you some food when we get home, Demi. For being nice to Pickle and Revenna." The Digimon eyes lit up as he heard the word food. "Yay!"

Pickle explains how her parents are out of town for a few weeks, and Pickle is left on her own. Ravenna looks surprised. "Oh, you're all on your own right now? I'm glad you are being responsible. That will give you more time to explore the Digital World." The new Spirit User suggests Ravenna should start by trimming one feather first. "That's a good idea, play it safe. I've lost plenty of feathers in battles before." Ravenna worries for the younger girl, but Pickle is mature enough to look after herself.
Demi had offered to carry Ravenna to the fountain. Thinking he was stronger than he was in this stage, she assumed he could. She hops up into Demi's arms, just to land butt first on the ground. Desmond suggests Demi being the one carried instead. The cute little fireball asks Raye if she can carry him. Ravenna smiles and tilts her head to the side. "I'd love to!" The Spirit User grabs Demi and carries him in her arms close to her chest.
With Pickle riding on the much Taller Desmond, the two tall ones head towards the village. They get there and see baby Digimon around a fountain. The water seemed to sparkle in the sun. Ravenna sets Demi down, and he goes up to the fountain, poking the water and watching as it turned to steam. Ravenna giggles at the sight of the steam. Demi says the water is cold, but being a fireball, Raye would have to see for herself.
Ravenna approaches the fountain and steps up onto the edge. She crouches down and leans forward to drink from a spout like a perched bird. The water tastes good and is very refreshing, having gotten thirsty from the fight. After getting enough to drink, Ravenna gets up and walks along the edge of the fountain, taking a seat leaning against part of the fountain.
Desmond explains how to travel around with the Trailmon in Terminus City. There, Pickle could get to and from the Digital World, and reach other areas. Having done all they could do to teach Pickle about Digimon, it was getting time to leave. Ravenna had forgotten all about what she was doing before meeting her new friends at the mall. "I'm going to miss you, thank you for all the fun! I look forward to seeing you again."
Ravenna gives Demi a big hug, then offers a hug to Desmond as well. "Why can't more Tamers be this great? Not like that Dante idiot." Ravenna then gives Pickle a hug goodbye. "It was nice to meet you. Take care of yourself on adventures. You are a Spirit User prodigy in my book." Ravenna turns and faces Desmond and Demi. "Thanks for helping Pickle out. Maybe we can battle again sometime, this time on the same team." Desmond opens up a portal to Terminus City so they can go on their separate ways.

"For now yeah. My parents have jobs that mean they travel a lot, but that's okay. They're doing important work that helps a lot of people and we always make time for each other whenever they're home!" Pickle sounded quite proud of their parents, positively beaming as they said that their jobs were to help people. "They're in Argentina right now working on a sustainable resource initiative, they've been there for about a month already. We talk all the time though, and once I'm a bit older they're gonna try to take me with them on their trips when I don't have school. For now they want me to focus on learning and growing though, finding my own ways to help others."
The trip back to the Village of Beginnings was nice, Pickle tired to the point where even the brief ride on Desmond's back had them nearly nodding off by the time they got there. Luckily the cool fountain water was enough to wake them back up and help them revitalize themself a bit as they wiped away dust and dirt and combed twigs from their hair. Once they had put themself together a bit, they stood with the others to attend to the last bits of advice the older chosen had for them. Desmond once again repeated the need for secrecy and advised Pickle to stick around a place called Terminal City for a while.
"I'll be careful Des, I promise." They gave him a mock salute, smiling all the while. "I appreciate your concern though! And thanks again, for all of this. Both of you. It means a lot." They happily joined Ravenna in the round of farewell hugs, squeezing each of their new friends tightly before pulling out a small notebook and pen. "I'll give you guys my contact info! That way we can get in touch later, I'd like to explore with you later if we can find a good time." They quickly scribbled their contact on a couple of bits of paper torn from their little notebook and handed it to both Ravenna and Desmond. "I'm gonna make the most of the help you've given me, I promise."
As they stepped through the Digi-Port that Desmond opened, Pickle knew they'd have plenty of chances to make good on that promise in the future.
