Heat was rising. Pain was becoming more and more evident with each second, and slowly but surely, Scarab would start toasting the poor bird. Which...would have continued to be the case if they had not made the attempt to start breaking the grapple. Which?
Was a good thing, especially with one considers that this was not the Full Nelson that Scarab was going for. So, with that plus the caustic nature of the Carriomon's attacks, they had managed to finally pierce the chitin. Which led to an inordinate amount of pain for Scarab.
Enough to get him to try an attack most basic, throwing the damn bird back onto the ground. Hopefully such an impact would hurt enough to deter the bird. Regardless, Scarab was finding himself more than winded right now... Relevant Passives: Skyrazor [Passive]: Scarab prides himself on how quick on the draw he is, and his capabilities at Stingmon provide plenty to back that pride up. Stingmon gains a 20% increase to his speed and overall reaction time compared to most other Digimon at his level.
Chitin [Passive]: On top of this, did you know that Stingmon are an exceptionally durable species of insectoid? Scarab enjoys a 20% increase to his defense against attacks, unless struck by a move that removes passive resistances/immunities. Scarab is hit with Fly-By and goddamn does that hurt. His response here is to try manipulating the grapple in such a way that he can toss Carriomon away and towards the ground.
Because man, that hurts.
Caustic Stacks - 5 - 40%, maxed.

Feeling their claws catch on the gaps worn into Scarab's carapace, Carriomon was quick to take advantage of the opportunity; digging their claws in as roughly as they could, and feeling the chitin give under their talons. Even as the heat rose, drawing a squawk of pain from the avian digimon, they'd attempt to tear at whatever they could...
... At least, until Scarab made the decision to throw Carriomon into the ground, sending them tumbling as they impacted with a sharp "K-kuh...!"
The bird would continue to tumble across the ground a short distance, kicking up dust in their wake; the sand stinging against the freshly-earned burns underneath their feathers and the puncture wounds. Everything hurt, everything ached - they and Scarab both were exhausted and losing steam fast. They weren't sure if they could take any more attacks from the insect, as it was now.
Desperate for some type of breathing room, any at all, Carriomon would push themself up and attempt a Raucous Caw - though it seemed poorly aimed, they were not aiming to necessarily attack Scarab directly, though more hoping to force him to back away. Besides that though, they didn't move from the spot - quiet, catching their breath with heavy panting, and watching Scarab carefully.
- Carriomon is yeeted and tumbles a relatively short distance away from Scarab. - They are visibly badly injured/exhausted, and on their last fraying ropes. - Carriomon uses Raucous Caw - inaccurately aimed - to attempt to force Scarab to give them some breathing room.
Move Used: [ATTACK] Raucous Crow: Carriomon lets out a supernaturally loud caw at the foe; striking them with a burst of sonic energy! [1 Turn Cooldown]
Passives Known: [PASSIVE] Caustic: Carriomon's attacks are acidic in nature; the more they fight someone, the more that any outer armor or defenses are worn away...! For each attack that Carriomon is able to land on the enemy, that enemy gain a stack of Caustic. For each stack of Caustic an enemy has, they lose 8% defense; up to a maximum of 40% at 5 stacks..! If no stacks are added/refreshed for 2 posts, remove one stack, and then another stack for each post afterwards until Caustic is applied again.

Acid was a very cruel mistress to be at the mercy of, because every single strike landed by Carriomon felt akin to fire searing through him. Fire that he couldn't just tough out because he was half a dragon.
So, it was nice to see that Scarab was still capable of executing throws. There was distance between them. Breathing room. Breathing room that Scarab was quite insistent that the bird would not have. He was close to trying to charge them, but he had to diverge in order to avoid the Raucous Crow. And thus, it all came down to a rather...tense staredown.
A sizzling azure Stingmon, and a worn out bird.
...
"...Hey. You're pretty alright." He found himself admitting. For how goddamn annoying they were, this had been a good fight. Why end it? There was probably something to be gained here...
"I'll be blunt. I'm at my limit. I'm pretty sure if either of us acted more, we'd just kill each other. I'd find that to be an immense inconvenience. And you? I'm pretty sure that's exactly the opposite of what you want."
Hisato had been staying back after the mishap from earlier. He wasn't exactly sure what to make of this...parley. "...What's he..." He muttered. Scarab dodges the Raucous Crow, and attempts the art of barley parleying.
Parley: A conference between opposing sides in a dispute, especially a discussion of terms for an armistice. Once per thread. This is a shitpost in combat logs. Don't mind this too hard.

As the two stared eachother down, Carriomon was visibly tense - ready to bolt or attack at a moment's notice, to protect himself; this fight had been rough. Very rough. Certainly, they had been able to push their limits and ascend to a form that they didn't expect to reach anytime soon; but it was in return for what they had been sure would be a life or death situation. But, before they knew it...
... Scarab, too, would back off. And as the two of them both watched each other with a plain wariness, the Stingmon would suddenly speak up.
"... Yeah. You're tough as hell, yourself." The crow digimon eventually spoke in turn, as they wiped away some liquid data that had splattered into their face at some point during the scuffle. They didn't know if it was theirs, or Scarab's, but they weren't too focused or worried over that. "I don't think either of us would want to die anytime soon, but I wouldn't be surprised if a crazy bastard like you was ready to greet Anubismon head on, heh." The last part seemed to be partially a jest - but in the Carriomon's opinion, 'crazy bastard' was not too far from the truth in describing Scarab.
That all being said though, Carriomon would look the Stingmon up and down briefly, before stating "I assume that you're not talking to me just for the sake of idle combat chitchat anymore, though." with an intent gaze - as though trying to judge what Scarab's intentions were right now. Was he being let go?
- Carriomon takes no action, instead speaking to Scarab.

"So I've been told." Scarab really didn't think he was that tough. Good at what he did? Sure, let's go with that. But he wasn't one to consider himself tough. Calling yourself tough just presented it as a lie. It obfuscates truth.
"And honestly, I'd sock that bastard upside the snout before he got to weigh my core like it's a bad unboxing video on Tamernet." He punctuated that with a hacking cough as the pain from the sizzling acid in his carapace would start to slowly recede. Emphasis on slowly. "And you guessed right." Smart.
"Deleting you'd be a waste. Not in a 'you're worthless' kind of waste. But in a 'it'd do neither of us good' kind of waste." Did that make sense? "So. I've got a really nice deal. You go. I go. We do our damnedest not to run into each other again. ...Because I'm pretty sure there's enough of our data around here to convince the people I need to talk to that a scuffle happened. That good?"
...Please. He was pretty sure he could do better...But that was a basis. Carriomon couldn't help but squawk a laugh as Scarab stated his willingness to sock Anubismon upside the snout; the Stingmon had guts, that much was plain to see - not that the fight the both of them had had left any room for doubt.
It sounded like the Stingmon was - indeed - willing to let them go, though; for free, from the sounds of things, at that. Though Carriomon had initially been surprised at the lack of needing to bribe Scarab for a chance to flee, it quickly became apparent that it was likely because the Stingmon would still get the payment for whatever bounty Carriomon had on their head. But even that being said...
... If the bounty was assumingly fulfilled, that meant it would likely take less time, before they could get back into the heisting business.
"... Yeah, that sounds good." the crow digimon would agree, straightening up. "Let's go our separate ways, then." Go their separate ways, and hope that they would never see each other again. Already, the edges of Carriomon's form was starting to melt into shadows - the crow digimon preparing to use Fadeaway to leave and disappear. Would Scarab leave Carriomon be, as agreed?

Being close to the verge of death kind of makes one realize there were plenty of ways to resolve something. Of course, it could also lead to a hysteria that led to just...flat out attacking, but Scarab was oddly composed about this.
And the Crowlomon was quite swift to depart, Scarab not making another move against them. They melted away into shadows, and once they did, the Stingmon turned. "...Come on. I hate it here." He stated, pretty simply, towards Hisato and Tentomon. Who was still shaking a bit, mind! "Y-Yes. I ALSO hate it here." The other bug nodded a few times.
There was only some more idle chatter before the group'd set out and away from the island. Because quite honestly, this was likely a bit more trouble than it was worth. And also because Scarab noticed that the bird had ACTUALLY brought him to his limits at the moment.
And he wasn't sure if he could even freely access Perfect...It wasn't worth potentially getting deleted over. It'd just be a waste of both of them. Besides! He gave his word. He hated going back on that.
