Polty would be unable to help a wince, as the Ogremon slammed a fist on the counter; her sensitive ears making it a bit more grating than it might be for others. Oof; it seemed like a lot of digimon were struggling, as a result of the wild Boarmon terrorizing everyone. The Meicoomon was certainly sympathetic, though she wouldn't worry to heavily over it; figuring that sharing some food, and helping out with the Boarmon would fix everything up anyways.
"It sounds like you two've had a hard time." She'd muse sympathetically; idly checking her coin pouch. "I've got enough for a couple meals; how about I order us two sirloins, and the three of us can share it all, as payment for some information? I'll be happy with just half of one of the meals, and I figure that you two can figure out how to split the rest." She'd offer to the Ogremon and Goblimon, grinning in a positive fashion. That'd leave them both one and a half meals to share amongst the two of them; that was fair enough, yeah?
Charles, meanwhile, would be quiet initially as he listened to everyone's thoughts. He'd be looking quite thoughtful though, thinking it all over and processing the others' input. Pickle had a variety of ideas on how they could approach using traps against the Boarmon; though she also had some thoughts over them not knowing enough about the enemy, which Charles nodded in agreement about. He wasn't really sure what a Boarmon was, even; beyond it likely resembling that of a boar, and it seeming to be quite a tough beast. Before he could comment on Pickle's input though, she would get up and approach other hunters for input...
... And a sudden friend would hop up, into his lap..! Charles would jump a bit as Arakan leaped up into his lap, not expecting the little Plotmon to be here of all places - especially not during a time like this! Yet, with her happy bark, he couldn't help a warm smile and chuckle; reaching down to pet her head. "Hey, kiddo." He'd greet Arakan; idly scritching her behind her ear. "Yes, these are some friends; we've gathered together to help with a Boarmon problem, that the town seems to be having, like Scarab there said. How've you been, though? Is your spirit treating you well?"
Glancing up to Hisato though, Charles nodded. "It seems like this is indeed a dangerous digimon; if the other injured people here are to go by. I'd rather not get into a fight with it - or at least, certainly not a head-on fight - for the sake of you kiddos; so using some form of traps sounds like the preferable plan to me." He'd agree; idly glancing to the injured hunters, whom were recuperating in here. Thinking briefly, he'd also suggest "Perhaps it'd be possible to even get the aid of some of the other hunters, if they're feeling able and readied?"

The loud bang of the Ogremon's arm impacting the bar caused Pickle to jump as they listened to the words of the hunters around them. The felt their heart soften with sympathy at the explanation for the lack of food available in town, the lowered income, all of it. This Boarmon problem was more than just a cause for fear, the problems it was causing would only get worse as things continued. Pickle immediately shrugged off their backpack and started digging around for the money they'd set aside for basic spending in the Digital World. "Of course, you gotta eat after all. I need something myself so I'll grab a bite for each of us!" With that they approached the counter with a grin and some 'coin'. "Would I be able to get some burgers for myself and those folks at the table over there please?"
Once the food was made and received, Pickle sat down with the three locals and began digging in. "So tell me about what's been going on? We're here to fix it so the more we know the faster this'll be done." They spoke between bites, careful not to talk with their mouth full. Pickle had found after their first time Spirit Evolving that they had developed a much larger appetite, presumably due to the energy that went into changing into an entirely new creature. Flesh and Blood to Data. They found it odd of course that the food here was just as nourishing as food in the human world no matter what body Pickle was in at the time but they just chocked it up to weird Digital World Shenanigans, much like Polty's head situation.
They did take note of the entrance of another Digimon, apparently an friend of Charles' who was also another Spirit User? Pickle couldn't fully follow their conversation considering the distance and the words of the Digimon they were talking to currently, but they could always follow up on that later of course. All that mattered was that they were very cute and a potential new friend.

The Plotmon's short tail did its best to wiggle in response to Charles scratching behind her ears. At that point, the Ogremon slamming its fist didn't even phase the moderately distracted canine. "Boarmon problem? Are you guys trying to kill them or just drive them off?" There was a better word than "kill" that would be more appropriate to use when referring to Digimon, but she was far too distracted by the idle ear scratching to use her full vocabulary. If it'd been a week or two ago she would've just flopped down there and remained unresponsive, but she had gotten much better at self-control.
Now if she could just properly vocalize that to tell Charles how she was doing with her spirit, it'd be perfect. "They've been really good.. I practically don't know they're there until it's one of our Digital World days." The pup shook her head and put her front paws up on the table, leaning up to look at Hisato. "I do! I think.. But you don't have to call me pupper, Arakan works just fine."
The Plotmon looked back to Charles at the mention of traps and nodded her head. "Plotmon has poison if you guys wanna use traps!" And of course, if Charles were involved in all this, Plotmon was going to do their darnedest to participate in someway. Even if said way were lounging around in someone's lap and providing a bit of poison.

"Half would do just fine, thanks, Missy," the Ogremon answered. "...we get that everyone has been tense, and thus putting all their hopes on you, but... At the same time, we're also affected. The moment we steps out from the city, the damned thing already waiting as if it knows that we'll get to our usual foraging ground, you see... Oops, sorry, that's not quite what you wanted to hear, right?"
And thus the two plates of meal is served, and soon the burgers, the Goblimon and Ogremon splits the meal into two, but somehow the Ogremon gave bigger portion to the Goblimon.
"Bro, this--!!"
"Quiet down and just eat. My stomach is used to this sort of thing... I still got some raw Digishrooms anyway..."
"That's not decent food...!"
"Shut, eat." then the Ogremon looked at Polty as he munched on his food. "...Right, let's start with what you want to know. I'm guessing about the look of the thing and all that? It's basically like Boarmon, or should I say... it's Boarmon with lightning for body instead of flame, but... It looked like this."
The Ogremon began sketching, and the result is a detailed looking boar, with bigger front body than the rear part. The head is also huge, and it almost like there are no separation between the thorax and the head. The neck is nonexistent basically. Its tusks got elongated, and its mouth has pretty much grows to point where literally a quarter of its body is like a huge mouth.
"It moves fast, but it can't suddenly turn around... hey you guys!" the Ogremon called out to the ones that Pickle is treating. "What do you remember about the hog?"
"Well... for one, sudden sounds seem to alert it. Some of us tried screaming when it get too close to our allies so we can change its direction to us instead. It doesn't seem to be bothered by ambiance sounds. So it won't be bothered by rustling leaves, flowing water, or sound of lightning... but last time I saw... a fish splashing out of water pretty much caught its attention."
"Right so you heard them"
Speaking of which, the eyes are very huge. It's almost bulging even.
"....Oh right," the other one from Pickle's table quipped "...It might not be blind, but I think its hearing are enhanced several times. But in return, the brightness of its own body made it hard for it to actually pinpoint target through vision, and it seems scents does not quite reach its nose. The zigzagging pattern, we think is... something else. We have no idea what, but we don't think it's related to its senses per se... Also... please do not use any boar traps. It's useless, we tried it. The trap just melted."

"I think driving it off permanently would be the more ethical solution, but...It's entirely feral from what we know. Killing it isn't out of the question, as a result." Hisato nodded. "Getting some aid would be great--more hands on deck, as one might say, and some poison would all go a long way in dealing with it, but..."
Scarab saw fit to butt in right then and there. "I'm not sure how big the Boarmon is, so we'd likely need to do a -really- big pitfall trap. As well as hit it with everything we have, in addition." If it had accentuated hearing, however, perhaps it was possible to blow it's ears out using sound...
"...Maybe sonic-based attacks might do something to it's hearing? Also, how come the traps melted?" He stated out loud. They still needed more info...

Lightning instead of fire...? Polty would look the sketch over with visible curiosity; eyebrows raised. "Dang, that's a chonky boy!" She'd comment on the sketch; visibly surprised. Did that poor Boarmon even have a stomach anymore, with how much of its body was head at this point? "An absolute unit of a feral hog, I'd say; and one with a itchy trigger finger, from what the squad over there -" She'd gesture towards the group Pickle was conversing with - "says... Do you guys know why this Boarmon is so agitated? Is it a territory issue? Or is it on some loading rampage or something?"
Though, the reason for its zigzagging still seemed up in the air. Was it patrolling? Searching? Hunting? Polty wasn't sure; she didn't exactly think like a wild Digimon, so she didn't have much to go off of for reference.
Charles, meanwhile, nodded with Hisato. "If we can drive it off without killing it, that does seem like it'd be the most ethical approach, though..." He'd trail off briefly, thinking to himself. "... I'm also somewhat concerned at the possibility of it still endangering travelers on the road between here and other locations, though; or of it deciding to wander back here - as it seems that its hearing is almost supernaturally good. I think that trying to capture it in some way - pitfalls seem to be our best bet - would be the best ethical method, personally; but it also would be the most dangerous."
He'd glance down to Arakan, with her mention of poison; raising his eyebrows slightly. "Poison, you say...?" He'd question with a hue of curiosity and awe; given that neither of them, when they had first met and made their way home, had never truly figured out Arakan's Plotmon form's capabilities. "Do you know the effects it has on other people, Kiddo?" He'd question her - figuring that the more they knew about their options and tools going in, the better.
Scarab, too, had some good thoughts as well. "Sonic attacks probably would do well; I know that my Gaomon form has a move that can daze an opponent through sound, though I otherwise haven't hugely explored all of the things that that form can do." He'd mention; continuing to pet Arakan as he brought out his phone, and brought up a notepad app on it to do a few sketches; figuring out ideas for how they could do a pitfall trap.

"It being able to melt metal is a bit.... uh... concerning?" Pickle rocked back a bit at that information, eyes wide. "Like, just from proximity? Absolutely insane. The fact that it primarily relies on hearing is important though, since it means we might have a better chance at hiding if we need to so long as we're quiet." Overhearing Hisato and Charles talking about maybe just running off the odd Boarmon, Pickle looked over at them with a scowl. "If we don't deal with it permanently, we're just pushing the problem off for someone else and putting other people and places in danger. That's not ethical at all. It's already bad enough that it's causing all these problems here and hurting and killing people, we can't let it just go somewhere else to keep doing the same stuff all over again. Either we kill it or contain it permanently, those are the only real options here."
Turning back to their companions at the table, they smiled again. "I won't blame you if you don't want to, but if we handled most of if not all the fighting would you guys be up for helping us give it the run around and luring into hazards and traps? We're here to put an end to it but it'll be faster with more hands. Even just a little help with setting up an ambush site would be nice. Don't worry about it if you're not okay with it though, I can understand not wanting to go out there with that thing running around."
Looking back over at the others at the table again, Pickle's grin turned a bit sly. "If we need sonic attacks, my S-spirit has that stuff handled. I have a sonic attack ability, a sonic defense ability, and I picked up the ability to mimic sounds and sonic based attacks once I hear them a little while ago as well. I'm basically able to turn into a living soundboard at this point. I have s tougher form for combat too, but it's pretty melee focused so I don't know how that would stack up against something that apparently radiates enough heat to melt steel." Pickle shuddered. "I don't want to find myself getting melted too. That'd suck."

"Mmm.. Well I've never killed anybody with it, but I'm not so certain that verifies it's non-lethal." Arakan began, laying in Charles' lap and sort of tucking her front paws against and underneath herself. "For Plotmon I think it's just a self-defense thing. Whenever I first used it it seemed like it caused a lot of pain and a bit of paralysis.. Which implies to me that it's more meant to be like a snakes poison. But I can't really see this tiny form being a predator." She shook her head just at the idea. It seemed ridiculous to her that Plotmon was more close to a snake needing to get to its prey without a struggle and not so close to a goofy little hedgehog that just needed the extra protection.
The Plotmon sat up again, putting her front paws up onto the table and poking her head up over the edge. Felt less awkward this way to her, at least. "I don't have any sonic attacks.. I think. Plotmon is loud but not that loud. Though if radiates heat like that, I dunno if I can really poison it.. I don't wanna melt either." The pup nodded her head, agreeing with Pickle.

Why the Boarmon is agitated? "...Hmn, that's a good question, but... This pattern here? That's not territory dispute. A territory dispute means that it would stay in one single area, right? But this one just moves zigzag like it's looking for something. It's unthinkable for it to try to fight for territorial dispute in this sort of way.
...Truth to be told, many hunters and foragers outright label this one Digimon as a monster. It's beyond reasoning. Some ferals can be reasoned with, but this one? Son of a bitch won't even spare us anything."
"Come to think of it, we tried it, trying to deafen its hearing I mean, but there are some... ability that it use that seem to neutralize that sort of trap. What did it do again...?" the one at Pickle's table began to think out loud. "...It was too bright, and somehow it felt like it does something but we don't know what. The bomb was set to be REALLY LOUD, and most of us wear sound silencing headgear."
"...but basically, it didn't work." the other concluded, perhaps with a sense of hopelessness. "It might be different if we had more sound bombs, but we only could get one prepared on time. We had no choice and was desperate, but to think that it was failed too..."
"Oh about the boar trap, basically when it stepped on it and it swung shut, the metal just melted," another added. "So it's not like setting it would make it melt or something but... Yeah, it's concerning."
....Help setting the trap? "...It's not like we don't want to, but... we have seen some of our friends felled by this thing. And... honestly, it's traumatic. And most of us doesn't show it, but we're... wounded." the Ogremon answered to Pickle's question by pointing at the legs of the hunters she shared table with.
"....We're more to liability than good for ye, Lass. But if you want to take our traps then... We'll gladly give them to you. I don't think we would gain any if we just hoard traps anyway. If this boar is gone, then we'll be good again to fight."
"That's right, we can't set them for you, but most of our traps are self explanatory. They're easy to set up."
Would the team take the trap?
Offered Traps: Sound Trap x 1 This small stereo box looking object have pronounced loudspeaker. It's apparently a bomb that let out such deafening sound that could temporarily disables hearing of anyone present in 50 meter radius (3 turns). It's single use bomb, but bars its ear-destroying ability, it seems to have no external uses.
Sound Silencer x 6 Headset that prevents you from getting yourself deaf. Warning: you might not be able to hear anything, so it might have no difference compared to being deaf.
Bear Trap x 4: Ye ordinary bear traps.

"Well, again, the point is to drive it off. It wouldn't surprise me if poison from something that small was unable to put something that's probably really damn huge down immediately..." Hisato mused aloud. They were getting a good amount of information, from what he could hear, so they could likely get moving to engage the boar, but somehow he felt there was still much to learn here...
...Yet, what else could be asked? "...Right, is that everything?" From what Scarab himself could glean, they were being given traps to aid in dealing with the boar, despite the fact it could melt them. Perhaps the issue with the boar being able to melt the traps was... "I got it. Melts traps because it's own body heat is high enough to just...do that."
His Stingmon form was capable of a similar feat, but it was more for cooking people alive. Not that Scarab was about to just go and mention that...
"Hey, Polty, everything okay over there?" Scarab called out. Might as well check up on his friend.

"Driving it off doesn't mean that it won't come back, or that it won't hurt others, though; not unless we were to drive it off far enough." Charles pointed out to Hisato. "But at that point, I'd agree with Pickle and argue that containing it by some means would probably be more efficient, even if a bit riskier, and still give us the same conclusion. Maybe someone who is able to better understand it on a psychological or biological level could even figure out what's causing this Boarmon to be the way it is, if we can contain it."
Arakan's poison being paralytic, though... "Hm... Even if it doesn't stop the Boarmon, being able to slow it down even a little might help, if we could figure out a way to safely gather your venom, so that you don't have to even get up close to it..." Charles mused; briefly wondering how a dog could even produce toxins. But, then again, Plotmon wasn't a dog - Plotmon was a Digimon - so... It was likely some sort of logic that was beyond the real world logic that he was used to.
He'd still continue to pet Arakan, smiling down to her and mentioning "Either way, I'd say that attacks we can use from afar is our best bet anyways; though I have a feeling that my spirit doesn't have much in the way of that, given my main deal is punching people." with a brief chuckle. "I appreciate the poison idea, though, Kiddo; atta girl." Charles would conclude in praise, figuring that Arakan probably deserved some praise in her life, considering her home life.
Polty hummed as the Ogremon explained the Boarmon's insane amount of feralness - quirking her lips in a concerned fashion, as she took in all the information that the hunters would provide. Metallic and sound-based traps only did so much, it sounded like; and reasoning was out of the question. Though, the melting did made her think for a second. "The drawings, they make it look like the Boarmon is primarily electrical... Is it still fiery, too? Or do fire based attacks hurt it?" She'd ask; tapping on one of the electrical portions of the drawing with one of her feelers, as she ate her share of the meal.
As Scarab called to her though, Polty would glance back towards the table, and flash a thumbs up; grinning widely. "All's well over here, guys. I'll fill y'all in once we're ready to go! How're things on your end?"
At the offer of taking the traps, though... The Meicoomon would nod. "Might as well! I bet even if the sound bomb doesn't stop the Boarmon in its tracks, it'll sure be a beacon to lure it in!" She'd remark; pulling her Infini-Store out of her tail, and helping store up the traps for later use. "Thanks, guys,"

"The traps could be really useful like Polty said. And even if we can't use the boar traps like they'd normally be used, we might find something to use them for." Pickle got up to take a closer look at the drawing. "Do you guys have any shovels we can borrow? Pit traps might be useful since it doesn't look like it could climb very well. If anything we might be able to use them to create openings." They glance back over at the others at the table the humans and their partners had claimed a bit ago. "Does your venom stick around after you make it or does it go away after a bit? Because if we could maybe put like, wooden stakes at the bottom of a pit and lure this weird Boarmon into it, having the stakes coated in poison might make things a bit more effective. Even if it doesn't work as well on a stronger Digimon, any advantage we can get is better than no advantages at all."
They grabbed the last of their food and smiled at the hunters still at the table. "Thanks for answering my questions, it was helpful. I can't think of anything else to ask, but if you have any other advice, feel free to share it. Otherwise I think we can head out soon to get ready." Once the others spoke, they made their way back to the table that Hisato, Scarab, Charles, and Arakan were at.
"I think we should go over what each of us can do while we're here. I can, using my S-Spirit, create sonic attacks, create a barrier that can reduce incoming damage, reinforce my bite strength, and do a little bit of healing. I also have a spirit fraction that gives me some pretty good melee attack capabilities and some ranged capacity as well. Aside from that, I'm pretty good at climbing and can do minor first aid."

"Mm.. Heck." Arakan huffed. It made sense that her poison wouldn't do anything to a big angry boar, but there wasn't much else Plotmon could do.. "I can't hit anything from far away either. But I guess it would make sense my spirit's not all that useful the way it is now." She furrowed her brow, thinking hard about what she could possibly do here. When she couldn't, she let out a grumble and took her front paws off the table, retreating back down to Charles' lap.
"All I have is poison and teeth and claws, and none of these will be any good against a big boar." Arakan responded, giving the short list of what she knew for certain Plotmon could do. If there were anything more, she had yet to discover it. A couple of terms Pickle used had the woefully inexperienced spirit user feeling very confused, though this didn't feel like the time to ask for explanation. "I, um... Just have Plotmon?"

"Well for one," the Ogremon started "I don't think it have any fire attacks, no. We also never tried to use fire because it could cause a forest destruction after all. Forget about killing the hog, it'll probably kill us all. So about that, we have no idea if it'll work or not, but we assume it'll work as normal to it. It... definitely would be strengthened by electric type attack though. One of our member, one that died actually... tried to use lightning attack on it because it's more accurate than fire... and well... it looked like it's damaged, but it apparently become temporarily stronger. It's just... something about this hog is absolutely dangerous, so don't ever use electric attack on it, alright?"
"Oh right," the Goblimon finally going to talk too "I tried to hit it with my mace and all, and at one point when Bro was attacked I punched it... it's a bit tingly, but attack worked as usual. Though be careful that it might makes you a bit more tired than usual..."
"Aye, like... there's just something in me that suddenly made me unable to use close combat technique as fast, as if I'm feeling slightly fatigued, more than usual. If you want to attack it with punch, let's see... I guess, there's this plant deep inside the forest named Robbar. Slather its sap on your paw and claws. The damage will be reduced a bit, but it should prevent you from getting messed up just because you attacked it at close range."
Are they seriously going to make a trench?
"...Trench... is probably going to take a while though... I have no idea if you guys could do it or not, but if you want shovels, go ask the guard guy... Gerrick was it? Be warned though. The forest is dead silent, and the sound of the shovel will be loud enough for it to hear you if it's around. Though if one of you played a decoy or something..."
The Ogremon glanced at Polty. "...Vroom vroom?"
Then again, it's their choice.
If they go outside later, they'll find Gerrick waiting with the shovel. He repeated the same with the other guys... that it's probably a risky gamble with digging trenches, but... "I'll leave it to you, please return safely, and don't be ashamed to run away. We don't need more deaths" is all he said. He then walked to the gate, where someone with a hood greeted him and walked toward the tavern where they came from.
"Oh, going to fight the boar?" from the voice, it sounded like a female's. The body shape too. She's wearing papyrus-colored clothes with brown border.
"Please be careful... Many tried to fend off the beast, only to perish in the way... but you, hmmmhmmm..." she formed her thumbs and index finger into rectangular, as if trying to frame the sight of the team. "...Yes, I think you all got some potential. Would you like to know your fortune, perhaps? Sorry for my rudeness by the way... My name... yes, my name is Kouru. I'm a travelling fortuneteller, you can say! Oh, and a bard, but considering the menace... I can't exactly play my instrument, can I~?"
Recap: What's known is the boar is lightning elementalled the boar is sensitive to sounds, sensitive enough to hear anomaly in natural, ambivalent sounds. No neck, mouth is more or less a quarter of its entire body. Eyes popping out, huge tusks It moves fast, but cannot suddenly turn around. Moves in zigzag pattern Metal traps seem to melt upon contact. Unknown cause Seem immune to the sound bomb for unknown reason Might be blinded by its own light that it have very tunnel-like vision Seems cannot smell anything? Might be empowered by electric attacks Touching it may cause some disjointed feeling, as if you cannot use moves you previously used to bash it at close range as fast as usual.

"We're doing alright, just planning and theorizing ways to handle the hog." Scarab called back. Meanwhile, back at the table, Hisato took a moment to consider what Charles was saying. Containing it was likely a better solution than just merely driving it off, namely because it eliminated the chances of this feral hog even returning...
"Well, if you can put the venom in a jar...Nah, that'd be way too cumbersome, wouldn't it?" Scarab noted on the subject of Arakan's...venomous pupper powers.
Nonetheless, it seemed like they had just about everything that could be needed to do something of note to this hog. A decoy... "Polty's motorbike could serve as a decoy, sure, but that's up to her." Hisato decided to put that out there as an option after the Ogremon went vroom vroom. "A trench would depend on how fast we can dig...We don't have anything else to know, do we?" Hopefully not.
If they had everything settled, Hisato and Scarab would go out to wait for everyone. If that was all in order?
"...Sure." Scarab replied to the fortune-telling fellow. "Those are always interesting to read, right?"
