This was insanity. Plain and simple. Tokyo had already had been getting its fill with other strange creatures as Digimon in their own way and time made themselves known. Some kept hidden, others caused a bit of mischief or worse. That was how it was and certainly didn't make things dull...
... However, out of nowhere, a new menace seemed to just emerge. People woke up to discover the creatures of myths and legends had suddenly appeared. Ghosts, goblins, fairies, spirits, cryptids, and more other creatures. At first Zachary thought when he saw them they were Digimon, like many others, having taken form based off the myths and legends of the human world. But as he saw them just flying and moving around, he realized there was less digital and more... something else.
Zachary didn't know how to interpret any of this. At first he DID think Digimon had indeed had invaded, as they were just going around and doing their own thing. However, as he got outside and saw how they behaved, and moved-- it was clear they weren't just digimon. They were something else.
Real... mythical creatures... never had there been an oxymoron better worded to describe this. Even Panthermon, Zachary's partner was in awe of the site of how these magical creatures were real and already causing trouble in their world.
"Just when you thought you seen it all, huh Panthermon?" Zachary asked as near the scene where many of these spirits wandered about. They were from all over the place and Zachary recognized many of them. Some were ghastly undead-spirits, but were as cute as buttons normally. Others took on shapes like the kami from Shinto lore, others were those that looked like classic fairies, or tiki creatures, even dragon-like ones that fluttered in the air. Even those who resembled totem pole designs and creatures from south-american mythology.
Among all of them, Panthermon seemed to fit in the most as being a creature based off Aztec and Mayan mythology. The panther was on guard, looking at all the creatures roam around. "It is a little unnerving, but it doesn't seem like they are being particularly malicious." the cat said as he looked around. The cat was now in plane sight, not invisible as he usually was. That and most of the humans had ran off in fear of the sudden appearance of supernatural spirits. "Well for spirits anyway."
Zachary too was a bit perplexed, but unsure what to do. This was a whole new realm of interest to him. He had studied mythology and read about them in fantasy. One even appeared like a wizard spirit-- and had Zachary not of known of a "Wizardmon' out there, he could of presumed the two were one and the same.
"What are we gonna do?" Zachary asked, a hand gripping his hair in disbelief. "We can't just let them wander around like this? There is no telling how many there could be. " he wondered.
It was then that Panthermon had an idea. The cat looked up. "Zachary, you designed me to reflect myths and legends. Specifically, Mytholomon being a guardian of the gate between the netherworld or possibly the spirit world, correct?" he brought up, aware of his abilities being born from Zachary's imagination.
"Yeah," Zachary said, wondering why he was bringing it up."What about it?"
The panther let out a soft growl as he observed the wandering spirits. "Perhaps I can use my powers over Spirits in Mytholomon, or even as Jaguamon, to lure them away and maybe even find a way to send them back to wherever they came from. "
Zachary gave it some thought, remembering how Jaguamon was in fact a shaman Digimon and shamans dealt with Spirits in such a thing. In fact many of his attacks used by communing with 'spirits' or whatever equivalent there was for them as 'digimon'. His eyes widened as he realized his Digimon's idea might possibly work.
"Panthermon-- you are a genius!" Zachary exclaimed.
"Well, You did make me so you get some credit..." the jungle cat replied while Zachary began digging into his pocket.
He took out his Digivice , as well as a Blue Card he got from a Cardmon a while back . (Spoiler for future mission ) "Let's give it a shot!" Zachary said and swiped the card through. "Digi-Modify! Matrix Digivolution Activate!"
Light engulfed Panthermon as he felt an undeniable surge of energy course through his body. His eyes became more feral as he felt the surge and it started to change him, his body beginning to show matrix lines. "Panthermon-- Matrix Evolution!!" the cat roared, a sphere of violet energy criss-crossing around him till it encompassed him and grew in size. The nearby spirits took note to this as they looked to find the sphere change with the shiloette of whatever was inside grow larger and burst out. The sphere shattered into bits of data, revealing a now humanoid looking panther creature with tribal clothing and aztec shaman styled accessories. "Jaguamon!"
The giant man-jaguar emerged as he glared out at the other spirits, now focused on him. He clearly was a taller, more regal looking mythical creature by comparison to the spirits wandering around. Jaguamon didn't move at first, regarding the spirits and he soon sensed even more around the city.
At first Zachary didn't know what his partner was up to, till he knelt down on one knee and clapped his paws together. "Nazca Lines..." he growled, causing his whole body to glow with an eerie aura. Once the glow got strong enough, he slammed his paws to the ground, his claws digging into the concrete.
With his touch, the street suddenly came to life as a bright, blazing light emerged out of the ground. It snaked its way down streets and formed an image from high up above. The shape took the form of a giant jaguar throughout the city of Shibuya.
As the spirits inside began to become pacified, and even relax at the soothing presence of Jaguamon's magic sigil-- the others from around Tyoko began to be drawn in by the glyph. The truth was, his magic seal was like a portal-- a gateway that lured them in, and aided them to return to where they belonged. Bzack to the other side...
END.
