A single letter.
That was all that came for her, it was all that she had really gotten. No luminas strengths trying to gain her loyalty, no whitewater corsairs trying to trick her into working for them, no terminus subjugation squad sending out a request for her. Just a single simple letter.
It had no address label on it, no real identifying mark past a single letter on it. One that she didn’t really recognize, nor did she recognize the symbol that was the seal for such a letter. It was wax and the letter within was something that told her a simple fact.
That someone wanted to challenge her, that same someone would be waiting for her on an allotted day. On an allotted time. The shutmon knew where the location was, she knew without a doubt where it was because her body and mind told her she did. It was deep within her to know. As was the case with most places.
The shutmon bid those she stayed with goodbye for a short time, promising to be back soonish. She had no idea how long this challenge would be or how long it’d take for her to come back. Sure it was just a few mountains over and to most that would be a problem but… The shutmon had the rare capability of flight. At least for her type of digimon that is!
A few hours into the day and she would arrive at the spot. It was a clear cut of a mountain, the top of which rather coming to a point was… Well it was just a flat plateau of sorts. Certainly large enough to even house some of the larger mons for a short time. She’d look about, unsure if this was the right location.
”Maybe another over? Hmm.”
The shutmon huffed a bit and tapped the hilt of her sword in thought. She didn’t know exactly where this other would be. Or if he would arrive just on time. She liked being a touch early, it made for simple things. She turned her head to look up to the sky, it was a mostly sunny day, with only a sparse amount of clouds and… well Maybe they were a little too early.
”Can’t help but wonder who…”

You sure this is a good idea?
We can't keep dragging our feet forever. How long had it been since Iko had accidentally run into that white Renamon in Rosewood? The Ankomon had been coarse with his words back then, but really, it was more like he was impatient. K wasn't just a leader: she was strong, as strong if not stronger than he was, and Silence was capable of just as much. He heard about bits and pieces about what the Shutmon had done through the Knights, through Syre...
... But really, the lack of progress irritated him. As petty as it was, as 'unimportant' as it was, he missed it: the bruises of their spars, their taut, tired, and pulled muscles, and their breathless exchanges as they exchanged blows. Without a rival, Iko had grown a bit more distant from the rest of the Knights, seeking out important and dangerous jobs just to be able to feel a rush, however brief it might be.
Without a rival, though, what focus did he have?
She's capable of far more than this... all she needs to do is remember it.
Perhaps it was foolish, but that was Iko's thought as he sent out that letter. 8 AM, to some desolate part of the mountains where they couldn't hurt anything around them. And just as Silence thought she might be in the wrong place, there would be a crack - a portal opening several yards to her left, as that same wolf she'd seen in her first month would step right on out, stretching out his back. The moment his eyes opened, they focused right on the Shutmon - a careful scan given over her data.
"... Hmph." He rubbed the back of his hand against his nose. "If nothing else, you finally got her 'feel' back. Gotten yourself into a fair bit of trouble, haven't ya?"
"Alright, seriously," Luke gave a sigh, shaking his head. "You're going to come right out and compare her to-"
"And what of it?" Iko spoke over his tamer's last words, giving a chuckle at that, as his attention returned to Silence. "Might not be the kindest way to put it, but it has to be frustrating - knowing something amazing's lying right under the surface, but not being able to bring it out. Any rookie whose reached Champion at least once knows that feeling - and it only gets more agitating with the higher forms. Do I have that part right, at least?"

Almost half a year at this point it felt. Almost so long that K would have come and gone in terms of strength. She had risen to a power beyond powers in that time. Something that not many throughout the world had attained. Her exploits unlike Silence’s were fading into something out of legend. Silence hated the fact she could read about that, learn about that. Know about that. Nothing she did ever felt like she was doing enough.
The lack of progress wasn’t because of her own hand a lot of the time, K had emerged in a time of strife. A time where the reapers, the spires, those orbs, and the dedmonlords had just come into being once more. Not to mention the hints of that wisemon. Something greater to push her along. She had nothing like that, no arch nemisis, no utter drive like the other. She wanted to improve but in comparison to K she was like a child flailing in the dark at the monsters that were there.
The shutmon was about to leave when she heard that crack, she’d turn her head to find the same wolf that she had seen in that first month. The same white wolf that had stopped the Skull meramon in his tracks. She’d grit her teeth a bit and fold her arms. She felt that scan over her data. Unlike before she couldn’t tell but in this form she could feel things a touch more acutely.
”No where in comparison to the sort of trouble she got into from what I heard. From the wisemon to other foes she had a list of great enemies. Where all I’ve had are tribbles in comparison.”
Silence’s icy blue eyes had far more warmth than K’s, far more pride. Far more emotions and feelings than the coldness that K was able to keep. She already knew who her prior iteration was… People always compared the two. And found the shutmon lacking.
”Why wouldn’t he come right out and compare me to her? Most others do it. Her friends. Her family. Might as well also be those that worked with her no? I figured out a while ago who or what you are. Nothing intense but.”
The shutmon shrugged, she knew that syre was also part of the knights. It wasn’t hard to figure out if you followed the right paths. Silence shifted a bit and flicked her ears. She knew how it felt, she knew the next step. But no matter what she could never quite get there. It was like something was scared, desperate even of what it may be. She’d grit her teeth a little more and one of her arm swords jittered.
”I know the feeling. When I hit champion I felt like the world opened up to me. But then more and more. And more. I hit ultimate and the same thing. Mega just… Feels strange. Like I’m cutting through air but I know I can do more. But I don’t have what she had. I can’t just sit around for two months in the middle of a forest. I don’t have some ancient enemy to wage war against.”
The wolf’s eyes narrowed and she’d point a single digit at the other.
”The only thing that was on the horizon that saw me from the start was you.”

It was true, Silence hadn't crossed paths with a 'true terror' of the Digital World as it was... but did K need any of that to move up to the next level? Really, her relationship with Examon and Jesmon already kept her in tune with her higher forms. At least in this respect, Silence wasn't well aware of just how her past self was.
But for Iko, this interpretation was just fine. "Interesting. You're right - you haven't crossed swords with someone like that before. But its also too reckless to simply run into something like that without know what you can do beforehand." The wolf smiled, openly presenting this mental problem to the Shutmon. "But allow me to be prideful for a bit. Wisemon, the D-Reapers, the Demon Lord aside - there was one more that K couldn't truly wrap her head around. One that she couldn't brush away, no matter how many times she squared off against them."
He chuckled. "And one who kept giving her the time of day - every Tuesday, for at least an hour, for the better part of half a year."
With that, the Ankomon stood up, sliding down from his perch, more easily meeting the Shutmon eye to eye. She was frustrated, of course, not knowing what lied just beyond that thin veil between Mega and Super Mega. And she had it right: Iko was the one who saw just what she was from the start.
"I'm not here to mince words, Silence." He pointed right back: "I'm here to fight you - but I'm not here to do it fairly. From the start and through the end, I'm going to use the strongest form available to me - and I'm not going to hold back. It goes without saying that you shouldn't either." He lowered his arm, and stepped back, as Luke readied his Digivice.
"You might think this world's a calm one - but it really can't afford to lose her potential for long. Let's see just how much your data remembers..."

She didn’t even have that. She didn’t have the relationship with examon and jesmon. She had no guidance from within. Every step she took was from people around her lifting her up, pushing her in some fashion or another. She had no real idea past the dreams, past those drawings. Those tender things that stayed on the fridge or the intense things that sat in her drawer.
”Yeah. Cause most of my experience has come from the little shit that the mission guild has been feeding me. I know basically what i can do but honestly if they had more than me I’d be boned.”
The shutmon crossed her arms and tilted her head, prideful? Wisemon. D-reapers. The demon lord aside… There was another that their past iteration couldn’t brush away or wrap their heads around. She’d frown slightly and consider this. She got to put this together, she understood where he was going or who he was saying that they had fought. So often. So many times for so long.
Then he got to the nitty gritty. That he was here to fight her, and that he’s not going to do it fairly. She’d blink a bit as the other told her that they were going to fight her at the strongest form. That he would no doubt fight her in a form she could not attain at the moment. She’d grit her teeth as the other readied his digivice. The shutmon shifted and knew for a fact that ultimate wasn’t going to be enough. Mega might be able to hold out…
But for how long?
But then again, did she truly think that this world was calm? She didn’t really know the answer. But it was apperant that the other thought that they needed someone of K’s par again. Else that would just leave a hole of some kind. Her expression darkened a bit and she felt a hitch in her core. A bit of nervousness. She still remembered the fight between the skull meramon and wasn’t sure if she could even match up to him.
A lot of self doubt for an instant and the shutmon would let out a little ‘tch’ before taking that light of digivolution before the other could even get started.
A cresgarurumon, though unlike K’s form it lacked the stereotypical glaive that they wielded the wolf wielded a pair of swords. Somewhat thin, somewhat like the jesmon’s blades but… They were far less ornate and likely a lot less stronger. The large wolf shifted her stance, one sword to either side, blades facing out. Her brow furrowing a bit as she stared at the other.
”Then stop talking.”
There was nothing more to really say about this, mincing words and being long winded about it wouldn’t get them to where he wanted her to be. The cresgarurumon let out a huff and spun her swords around. She wasn’t ready. She still didn’t feel ready, there was a strange knot in her chest that wasn’t like fear but… She was frustrated. Worried. And it showed.

Nervous as Silence was, she still agreed to go about it. She took her form as a CresGarurumon - Iko giving a short nod at the presence of a mega. Silence had come along quite a ways to get to this far, but the valley between Mega and the forms that lied beyond might as well have been giant chasms at this point. But if Silence wanted to give Iko any sort of challenge here...
... She was going to have to take that leap. He gave a nod, first to Silence then back to his tamer, as he took a few steps back. That familiar, gnarled dagger appeared in the wolf's hand - and he handed it right off to Luke.
"As the light turns dark..."
"... The Shadow Knight comes."
Both of their forms pulsed into a bright light, then quickly darkened as their form expanded into one. Rather than standing on two legs like the CresGarurumon - or even keeping to a similar size - the form instead continued to grow, reaching a terrifying thirty feet high, a massive, feral wolf stepping right out of the light. The Dakuferamon slammed down its foot, gnashing its fangs around the hilt of a much larger blade, black flame now billowing right off of the metal. His eyes trained right down on the CresGarurumon, a tense, expectant growl escaping its throat.
This was, undoubtedly, a Super Mega - much, much stronger than the SkullMeramon or the wolf that cut him down. And with no warning, from the center of its head, a powerful beam of light pulsed out - intent on striking Silence right at the center of her frame.
He'd be relentless.
He had no other choice. Lunar Ray III: A light builds up from the center of Dakuferamon's head, where the moon insignia used to be, energy briefly charging before being sent out as a white ray of energy. Simple, effective, and fast ranged attack.

The cresgarurumon shifted her stance slightly, shortening the width of her legs. She’d stare at the two, flicking an ear as the two seemed to be considering something. Then they spoke and… Shadow knight? She almost wanted to laugh but that bright light only made her more nervous. A bigger, rougher version of what Iko was was standing in front of her. Much taller than she was. Much much taller. If she had to guess, at least three times. It had a giant sword in it’s maw and well… that blade was huge. Heck if it wanted to it could probably slice her blades apart. That tense, expectant growl that came from the throat of the wolf made her take a hesitant step forward. No steps back. None were here. She wasn’t a coward, she took her sort of beatings like a god damn mon. And his first attack? Well rather than be with the sword as she expected well… She wasnt’ fast enough to dodge an attack with no warning, and certainly not a beam of light. She’d take that beam to the center of her frame and get knocked backwards. Not entirely off of her feet but she certainly skidded back, forced to use her swords to keep her from flying backwards. Her hands were alight with motion and either sword was in either sheath. She’d snarl and leap forward, for a mega it’d be hard to track, but for a super mega? She didn’t know. She just knew that they were close enough for her to use this technique. She was already hurting from the first strike of the giant wolf, but she took that attack with gutso! After making her attack of course she’d have a few moments to consider the next motion if she even got any... Log: -Silence takes BEAM to the face -Silence uses Wolf Flash Fang to try to strike at iko Passives: Soul-Bound|combat passive: Rather than wielding the stereotypical glaive that cresgarurumon's are known for. This digimon instead wields a powerful set of swords. This swords are naturally imbued with energy of the digimon's data. Rather than being a physical sort of damage, these swords deal energy damage and are not affected by reduction that would affect normal blades.
Full Metal|Combat Passive: This digimon's body looks to be heavily armored but in fact is simply metal given form; reducing all incoming damage by 10% without reducing it's speed. Move: Wolf Flash Fang: This digimon sheathes either of it's swords into their respective scabbards. After a moment the digimon leaps towards a target at a speed that's hard to track with the naked eye. At this instant it draws both of it's blades in a vicious slash, aiming at the target's chest. The concussive force of these blades are immense and the damage from this attack follows suit. Target must be within a hundred feet for this attack to be usable. Five post cooldown. It was a mismatch from the start. Iko's opening blow already threatened to blow Silence off of her feet, the mega barely managing to keep her composure. The Dakuferamon thought about simply dashing right in - but on seeing the wolf switch her stance, the wolf thought better of it.
Hm? Why stop here?
Sheathing her blades at that range? The wolf glared. She's going to use some kind of quick-draw - all of her effort into her next swing. We're strong, the wolf growled, but not invincible.
However, Iko's experience let him know, more or less, what was coming. Would it be similar to one of K's long range energy attacks? Judging by the way Silence seemed to vanish on the spot, that seemed quite unlikely: the blades would be drawn and swing right for the monster's chest. If it would connect, Silence might have felt it sink right into the wolf's pelt.
Instead, however, she'd hear the metallic ring of something else: her cross-slash connecting cleanly with the Dakuferamon's own blade. The technique was strong - enough to make the wolf's fangs ache in irritation - but for something that straightforward to work on Iko now?
It would have to be a lot stronger than that.
And the wolf didn't stop there: a moment after Silence connected with the blade, the metal itself would darken and heat up. In the next instant, a burst of flame would expand outward, intent on washing right over Silence, just as the beam had done before. Like this, perhaps Silence would be blown backwards. But even if it wouldn't, Iko would keep his gaze on Silence, approaching her with a steady pace.
It wasn't enough. Not yet. Ragnarok [Passive]: Iko's sword, clenched between his fangs. At all times, this blade is surrounded by Shadowflame, similar to a Meramon, burning others on touch. This brutal sword pierces Chrome Digizoid, and the metal of the blade is durable enough to withstand blows of the same quality.
Burning Darkness V (b): Clenching his fangs around Ragnarok, he can intensify the range of the shadowfire coating the blade, creating a 'pulse' sixty meters in diameter, causing heavy damage to his surroundings. This does NOT distinguish enemy from ally. Three post cooldown.

She was able to get close, this was good. Most of her attacks in this form were close quarters and judging by the appearance of the wolf she could maybe say about the same? She wasn’t completely sure. Maybe the beam attack was one of the few that he had? It was hard to really tell. She couldn’t help but feel like she’s been here before and she stifled that feeling. Knowing that she had never fought against someone of this strength; but her prior iteration had. Quite a lot actually… With her sword meeting the others and was more or less stopped dead in it’s tracks the cresgarurumon’s eyes flashed a little bit. So an attack of that strength wasn’t something that she could rely on? Or maybe the other had gotten lucky? She doubted the second part heavily. The cresgarurumon didn’t have time to do a follow up as the other used some ability that was just this burst of flame. It was strong enough to send her flying backwards, as she was still mid air for this attack. She’d tumble in the air a few times, crash into the ground and slide along it for a few meters before her sword came down. Slicing through the rock and slowing her momentum just enough so that she didn’t go flying off the edge. She didn’t even need to glance back as she could feel her foot dangling off the edge of the mountain. She felt the front of her body ache from the attack… it was very powerful. She hoped he couldn’t do that on the regular. The cresgarurumon could feel the other’s stare, the other’s approach. The wolf flipped her sword around in her hand while pulling the second out of the ground. Both in a reverse grip before she’d dash forward. Both of the blades trailed energy at this point, bringing them up to try to strike the super mega. The trailing energy that followed it detonating after a few seconds of being exposed to the air. She couldn’t help but feel she was slamming herself against a very firm and strong wall. Unsure of how much effort it’d take to break it. She couldn’t even really understand what she was looking at, the sort of gap she was looking to close. Iko and luke would probably notice that there was something off with her stance. Was she thinking too much? Or was something bound to happen soon? She wasn’t bleeding energy, she hadn’t taken damage. But maybe she was nervous? Maybe she was uncertain? No. She was much more certain than K was in their spars. Even if the former knight had been really good about it… This wolf felt a lot different. Even with the level difference she didn’t bat an eye about attacking something clearly out of her depth. So why the pause? Log: -Silence takes Burning darkness, flying backwards and dealing a hefty amount of damage -Silence uses Rising breath against Iko/Luke Passives: Soul-Bound|combat passive: Rather than wielding the stereotypical glaive that cresgarurumon's are known for. This digimon instead wields a powerful set of swords. This swords are naturally imbued with energy of the digimon's data. Move: Rising Breath: This digimon twists both of it's blades into a reverse grip. The next moment it makes a rising attack with both of it's blades. Trailing energy and detonating this energy in the same width of time dealing high damage to unarmored targets and Medium damage to armored ones. Two post cooldown. Cooldowns: WFF: [⅕] RB: [0/2]

A direct hit. Silence was singed, and almost sent careening off a nearby cliff, only barely managing to keep herself on her feet - and she definitely looked worse for wear! To that, Iko gave a snort and a growl, eyes flicking impatiently to scan her data.
What about now? Was that enough to push her over the edge? If anything, Silence almost seemed determined to throw herself back into the fray straight away, claws still purposefully clenched right around those blades. Another straightforward attack? Well-practiced, but... no subtlety. Only sheer power. She must have won all of her fights to this point through sheer brawls.
And to a straightforward effort like this, Iko wasn't going to show any quarter. Instead of trying to dodge or counter her efforts, Iko instead opted to meet her head on - barreling forward in a full sprint to meet directly with Silence's blades. Did he intend to simply overpower her with a basic tackle? Well, not quite: after a few moments of running, perhaps Silence would notice that Iko's fur no longer billowed in the wind. It, in fact, had become quite rigid, and as the energy slammed into it, it would explode against the makeshift armor.
The monster, with its hardened and spiked fur, would barrel right on through - and with a lowered head, he'd simply try and meet Silence with a full-on headbutt! Burning Darkness V (b) CD: 1/3
Spiked Cloak - Duration: 1/2 For two posts, Dakuferamon's fur takes on a spiky texture, hardening and becoming stone-like to the touch. Can be used defensively, or as an effort to siege or overwhelm the enemy with brute force. One post cooldown.

All of her fights? They were nothing. Paltry. They never amoutned to much. They weren’t any challenge. There wasn’t anything challenging from any of them, they had been mostly friendly. Mostly straightforward. Even with the moon, even with the harpy. They had been straightforward fights. Even though her life was on the line all she had to do was wade through and slam herself up against the challenge. Her physical prowess was enough, she wasn’t practiced past the guard training and even that didn’t amount to much. The straight on charge that iko did was enough to give the mechanical wolf a momentary pause. She didn’t trust that, she didn’t feel like this form needed something that physical. Without it meaning something. She’d snarl as she saw that the fur had hardened but that hardly meant much. She felt that hit her through the explosion and she’d grunt as she was flung back… And straight off the cliff. But there was no scream, no cry of surprise. She felt her feet bounce off the side of the cliff as she fell and fell and fell. There wasn’t much she could do in this, she didn’t have flight like K did in this form. The cresgarurumon took a moment while she was still bouncing off the side of the mountain to condense her energy. Iko would notice the spike of energy, but it wasn’t that of digivolution. No. It was something much different. And if they looked? Well they’d see that the Cresgarurumon had grown a swath of energy limbs out of their back. With swords and open hands as they scrambled for purchase along the side of the mountain, eventually stopping the momentum of the wolf a good hundred or so meters down. Silence huffed a bit and started the climb again using these energy limbs, quickly pulling herself along while still keeping her eyes on her opponent. It’d be a good minute before she could even get back up to the mountaintop… Log: -Silence took Spiked cloak to the face and went flying off the mountaintop -Silence used Blade of Ether to stop her fall and start climbing back up -Silence looks rather worse for wear. Passives: Soul-Bound|combat passive: Rather than wielding the stereotypical glaive that cresgarurumon's are known for.
Move: Blade of Ether: This digimon is capable of generating a powerful amount of energy. So much so that it can direct this energy to their back, creating a swath of energy limbs. Each limb comes with it's own blade and there's enough of them where when still it looks almost cape like. While in motion these blades and limbs are like a vortex, cutting at anything in melee range that the digimon has designated hostile. When active, this ability attacks on it's own. Dealing 75% damage of a basic attack. Inside of combat this ability lasts for two posts. Cooldown of three posts. Outside of combat this ability has no cooldown and may be used in a various manner to assist the digimon in endevours. Cooldown: WFF: [⅖] RB: [½]

One solid connection was all it took - the CresGarurumon was hit head-on, and blown right off the cliff that she narrowly avoided before!
Some, perhaps, would have thought of this as a little too far - but this was a fight between mega level Digimon. Seeing her vanish over the edge, the Dakuferamon merely gave a snarl, sprinting up to the edge of the cliff himself to peer over the edge. Indeed, there she was: clinging right to the side of the mountain, to try and pry herself back up. Left alone, it might take her a minute or two to reach the top... but the wolf had other ideas.
Just like our first fight.
Iko gave a growl, moving one foot forward to sink right into the shadow of the mountain.
A fight we couldn't afford to lose - a fight where I had to overwhelm you from the start.
The shadow of the mountain itself would begin to darken, Iko narrowing his focus towards the other wolf.
Maybe this one will make your body remember!
His eyes narrowed in focus, and at once, the shadow of the mountain was beckoned to his command. Rather than let his opponent try and pull herself up, Iko decided to push Silence a little further. The shadows would quickly spin into thin coils, dark tendrils of energy, like thick cord, beginning to condense and appear around Silence like a spider web. A few moments later, he'd grit his fangs - and the 'wires' would be drawn in, intent on snaring and catching around Silence. If caught, he'd pluck her right from the side of the mountain - away from any leverage that she had - and would hold her high, simply letting those cords constrict heavily around her.
What now, Silence? Burning Darkness V (b) CD: 2/3
Spiked Cloak - Duration: 2/2
Dark Tendrils III: Manipulating darkness directly from shadows, Iko can contort solid dark energy towards the opponent in the form of tendrils. If these strike the enemy, the tendrils can powerfully constrict around the opponent for ~3 posts with a combination of 'burning' and constricting damage. The shadows used for this attack are made from his own shadow, as well as any shadows intersecting his shadow, and additionally the Shadowflame coating Ragnarok. One post cooldown.

Yes. Left to her own devices the cresgarurumon would of ended up back upon the mountop. But things never really went the way everyone planned and as she climbed the other wolf’s eyes narrowed as she noted the much bigger wolf looking down at her. But… It wasn’t out of spite or just to watch her struggle, no he had something else up his sleeve. Something that the mega didn’t know that he could do; she had thought the shadow knight thing had been just flavor. But. Apparently the name wasn’t just a tease at something or a way to try to be edgy. The shadows under, around and all about her would start condensing. Her arms swiping of their own volition at these webs but being able to do very little against them. She couldn’t dodge these, so she was snared and plucked up high. She’d still struggle, she’d still try to break out. Clutching, grasping and even going so far as to try to slice through them with the bare amount of movement that she could manage. Snarling in irritation the wolf slowly drew her arm back. It was hard to concentrate through all this pain that she was currently experiencing. It was a lot like when she was wrapped up in that chain, but unlike last time the Cresgarurumon couldn’t expect help to come or wouldn’t get lucky enough for that. She’d struggle and just as her arm was raised high enough she found that there wasn’t a sword in it anymore. At some point during her motion her arm had spasmed and dropped the blade. In fact both of her swords had fallen out of her grip in the spasming of pain. It was getting harder and harder to do much, the constriction, the fire, the pain. The frustration of just simply not being strong enough, the cresgarurumon snarled and pulled at the shadows that were constricting her still. That were burning her, driving the pain like a steady nail into her body. She felt her body hitch, twist and she’d grunt in pain as it deepened further and further. That’s when something ancient rose it’s head from a deep slumber. A single eye cracking open from it’s lengthy time asleep. Was it so soon that silence would meet her end? And at a friend no less? One that intended her well by forcing her to digivolve? Maybe they wouldn’t have the answers they sought or the outcome they wanted. Silence was quickly fading in the grasp of the shadowy web; as she had taken blow after blow after blow from a super mega no less and this was certainly something that continued to hurt. But iko’s thoughts and desires were made clear. Something that perhaps he knew would force a hand. But, like every plan there was a hitch. Like every problem there wasn’t always a clear solution. Silence’s body indeed was grasped by the same light that would be considered digivolution. Unlike K’s silence’s digivolutions were bright, bold, proud. They were engulfed by it. The enrgy spike exactly what he was looking for. But Iko wouldn’t see the familiar form of Jesmon, the overwhelming presence that was Examon or even the lord of the empty space that was Gracenovamon take shape. No he’d see something only a few others could claim to see, something that K had only used a handful of times and never against her sparring partner. Not because out of spite or out of a desire to hold him back. But because of worry; because it was a serious form of fighting to a extreme. Jesmon was ballanced. Gracenovamon was fierce. Examon was overwhelming. But OmegaShutmon? It was everything that K had ever dreamed in her want to be a knight. Everything and more, but unlike K? Silence wasn’t any of those earlier three, she was purely and proudly something that had been cultivated in the deep core of K’s body. Something that had spent time furthering itself. The light brightened further, threatening to cut away at the shadows that were present, her signal grew more and more powerful. It seemed like it wouldn’t stop. The first time that Silence had ever touched super mega and her body was burning so brightly it was practically a mini sun. If iko deigned to look when it was over, the OmegaShutmon was simply standing there. Suspended in air, sure the shadows were likely still constricting about it but there wasn’t a care there. There wasn’t anything that really stopped it from resuming the fight. But there was something obvious right from the get go. The soft glow of the eyes and the dullness of them were indicating this was her bodies response. Silence had at some point passed out and this was a defensive mechanism of sorts. She was capable. But she wasn’t in control at the moment. And it saw a foe in front of her, a foe that had brought it to this. It’d curl it’s hands tightly and then slowly reach down to draw out the sword that was in a sheath around it’s hip. The sheath vanishing once the sword was out of it’s home. The body hadn’t done anything yet, as though it was considering what to do, where to go. There was the flight or fight response and well… This certainly was a fighting response. Log: -Silence couldn’t really avoid the web of shadows and got hit pretty hard for it. -Silence digivolved to OmegaShutmon but she’s clearly not all there. Passives: Silence of the Abstained: This digimon naturally produces no sound and cannot speak normally. Additionally within 150 feet of this Digimon there is no sound at all; nothing travels through it and any sound based moves are voided completely when within this space.
Knight of the Mausoleum: This digimon's body is freezing to the touch and the digimon itself leaves behind frozen tracks as though it had flash frozen each step. Additionally this digimon is unaffected by the cold itself making Cold based moves ineffective against it.

It was never meant to be a fair fight.
Silence lacked the tactical thinking to do anything but charge from the front. Combined with being down a level, and this result was inevitable: Silence was held in the grips of the dark tendrils, the wolf looking on as he slowly tightened his grip, pushing her ever closer to the edge. Silence's concentration waned, her frame started to weaken...
... And, in that desperate pinch, that dam of power finally wrenched itself open.
The darkness didn't give way. Iko had made the cords using an entire mountain's shadow, after all, but as that new frame took shape, the wolf noticed something off. Yes, this new frame was brimming with potential and power - quite a capable wolf - but it did not well out with power. His opponent's eyes were out of focus. So rather than push the bill, the wolf lowered the OmegaShutmon, back on top of the cliff, and let those shadows recede to his side. From there, he would wait.
Wait for either Silence's senses to return - or for this brief peak of power to wear off.

Desperation and bravado.
Things that her former iteration knew well of and it pushed her to great heights. But here as she was shifting and sifting through the gentle abyss of her mind she felt that odd edge. That odd sensation of someone watching her, someone greater than she could hope to be. But it was that same sense that it made her realize that the person watching her was the same person that she was. That she had always been, from that blossoming within K for such a long time…
Of course there’d be left overs from when she was within the bosom of someone greater. Someone more powerful. But of course in the same sense she wouldn’t match up with the same person that everyone compared her to.
The omegashutmon didn’t move once she was set back down, she had been attacked and forced to the edge but without something proper to react to all the form did was wait. And it was during that wait that the wolf no doubt would notice that there was a distinct lack of sound within quite a large radius of the other.
A few minutes dredged on and the body’s defensive response ceased, control was given back and the powered shutmon staggered a bit and felt her sword practically slice through the ground as she had attempted to use it to steady herself. It was far sharper than the rock that she had tried to brace herself against.
What on earth…?
The omegashutmon brought a hand to her head and blinked as she felt that armor against her face. She’d furrow her brow slowly and look to iko. The super mega seemed completely unsure of herself, there was a bit of excitement sure but… She hadn’t a clue what had occured. Yes she digivolved, yes she was powerful, but what was this form? What could it do? Why did she feel such a deep sense of pride and accomplishment from something she was forced to do?
Why did she feel that gentle tug of another's mind at hers?
