The young Ludomon could feel her heart skipping several beats as she jumped off the blue Trailmon that lead to the city of Ys, her knapsack wrapping around her body with everything she needed. Ever since she was hatched in Whitewater, she wanted to make a life for herself, explore every corner of the Digital World, and make one hell of a name for herself. She had waited far too long for this day, and by Yggdrasil she wouldn't be waiting any longer.
As she stepped near the barrier of Ys, her heart pounded louder and louder, as she looked up to the new life ahead of her. She took in a deep breath before muttering to herself, "This is it, Periperi. Your new life starts today. No turning back now." There was a clear sense of nervousness that flowed throughout her entire body, but that wasn't going to stop her. With a determined look through her face, she reached out her paw to the barrier...
If you had told Kenny and Skadi all those months ago that they would end up becoming part of one of the biggest, if not the biggest, organisations the Digital World had to offer, playing host to one of the big cities they called home, then they would just shrug you off without a second thought. But now? This was like a secondary home for them, a base for them to get some training done, recharge their batteries, or mainly just to hang out on a chill day.
Today felt like very much the latter, although there was a little itch in Skadi for the former that she wanted, too, especially with her mentor, Valt, but she understood he could be busy with his life. But for now, today those two would be going to the markets, maybe pick up some stuff along the way, grab a bite to eat, and maybe later they'd go to the Cerulean Gym to train Skadi up a bit, hopefully with a friend. Maybe Ophelia could show them a new thing or two, who knew?
The sweet smells of the food tickled their noses as they walked by, "Y'know, Skadi, when I was a little kid, I loved going to the markets with my dad on the weekends. I always just found it enjoyable to look at all those weird and wacky knicknacks, pick up some stuff with my own pocket money, and I loved those mini cinnamon donuts, too. They were the best." Kenny happily reminiscenced to his partner, willingly keeping up with his tamer.
Skadi gave a little giggle in turn, "I don't blame you. Those donuts sound really delicious."
"I know, right?" Kenny added, "And there was this little machine they had, showing the donuts being made in front of your eyes, and that cute squeaking duck that kept cheeping every few seconds. Oh God almighty, that was the best. I'd kill to have them again one last time!" He laughed, making the little Valaismon giggle again as well.
"You're telling me. All this talk about donuts is making me hungry. Mind getting us some lunch, Kenny?" She smiled, to which Kenny gave a nod to his adorable partner. The two had ended up at nearby takoyaki booth, and as Kenny was ordering a box each for the two from a Frogmon merchant, Skadi's mouth was already watering. While the two were always up for a great adventure, sometimes a slow, easy day would be more enjoyable for the dynamic duo. At least they didn't have to risk their lives on days like this.

Disregarding some actually relatable hesitation and anxiety coming from the barrier, today was a pretty chill day in Ys, no pun actually intended. Yui had opted to treat her partners to some lunch at the market, and Bu and Fuu decided that of all the varied cuisine options they could procure, they decided to go get sandwiches.
So, that's the short of how they ended up on a bench chomping at pastrami. "Soooo...What is this stuff?" Bu asked, looking for Fuu as if that would grant her clarity. "...Food." Fuu replied, not sure what she was supposed to say. She at least liked the stuff. Then again, so did Bu.
Yui was oddly silent, though, the woman's eyes wandering around the marketplace until...They landed on some sorta sheep digimon that looked like that sheep pokemon but not quite. Still, she was pretty sure she had seen these two around before. "Heeey, there's some spots open here if you wanna eat!"
Yup.

The moment Periperi stepped through the barrier, the first thing she did was take a brief glance on herself, and her own surroundings. She blinked several times, still trying to register what she just did, before a wide toothy grin started to emerge on her face. She made it through, and with that, her new life had officially begun, ready to move into the big city to start a new life. She let out a few excited sounds of laughter as her eyes darted everywhere, taking in every sight and sound over the modern ancient city.
But where to first? Clearly, there were plenty of options for the little greenhorn Ludomon for where to go to. And for someone so young, a great first impression was important for her. Probably best to start small, right? Her eyes shot towards a huge marketplace, which looked rather bustling today, what with all the Digimon and the odd human moving around?
Yeah? Why not? She shrugged to herself. Maybe she'd get the chance to rub shoulders with the residents here. With a quick rearranging of her bag to keep it up on her bag, she set off into the market nearby. After all, she did once overhear the praise 'When in Rome' once. Maybe she'd blend in perfectly with the rest of the locals, who already called this place home.
Who knows? Maybe she'd end up finding the fabled king of Ys?
Just as Kenny paid for the food, and picked it up from the counter, he and Skadi quickly turned over to a quite familiar female voice calling them over and a equally familiar set of teammates; Yui, Bu, and Fuu, the former of the trio calling out to them. A kind smile formed on Kenny's face, as did Skadi's. It was always nice to rub shoulders with other KIZNA members, especially on a nice day like this.
"Yeah, that sounds good, thank you!" Kenny called back to the two, waving a free hand into the air, before he walked over to them, Skadi willingly following in turn. Once they reached over to the three, he quickly straightened himself out before speaking once more, "Hey, it's nice to see you guys again. The name's Kenny, and this is my Valaismon partner, Skadi!" He gestured to his happily waving partner.
"Nice to meet you guys!" Skadi chirped happily to them.
Considering Kenny and Skadi were only familiar with these 3 in passing, maybe it was best to get to know them, "So, how you guy's been so far? We've been pretty busy ourselves, going on adventures, doing a fair few missions, the works. And honestly, we've been enjoying it a lot so far." He chuckled, "Apart from the very few times we nearly died because a wild Digimon saw us as lunch, that is."
...well, at least Kenny still managed to retain that sense of dark humour he had from the start.

It was true that the little Ludomon had so many places to start, yet at the same time, the truth of the matter was still the same. She was but a greenhorn, and a greenhorn could very easily be overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the Ancient City of Ys. Fortunately, that's why people such as this Inconspicuous Keramon In White Robes Who Was Totally Not Mae, I Swear were here to help people find their way.
"Hey. Ludomon." She stated, quite plainly. "I've...never seen one of your ilk around here before. Do you need a tour? I-I can help if you want." Hopefully Periperi had heard her. Well, it was nice that the pair had accepted the offer that Yui had put out. The guy was around her age, which meant they might have some amount of common ground to converse on. "I'm Yui, these two are Bu and Fuu." The Ryudamon and the Dorumon raised their arms as their names were stated aloud.
"Nice to meet you too!" Bu chirped out loud, clasping her claws together. Fuu remained quiet, leaving Yui to do a good chunk of the talking. "Well, it's been the same for us. A few adventures here and there, but the bulk of my free time I've been spending familiarizing myself with the city as well as the ins and outs of this Tamer business. I've...uh. I've had a fair share of encounters with wild Digimon too, it's been a bit of a trip."
...There was a lot to unpack here.

The marketplace, despite it's large size, looked so far away, and so intimidating too. Growing up in the more tranquil, and way smaller Rosewood (and the fact this was literally her first cycle), the town's more easy-to-understand nature was more her speed, unlike the massive size of Ys. And she was barely scratching the surface of this place too. It all felt so dizzying to her, and it was a lot to comprehend for a little kid going into the big world like her.
All the while, all these Digimon, several much larger than her, or most other Digimon that called Rosewood home, for that matter, were also roaming around Ys, plenty paying no heed to the lost Ludomon as she found herself being scattered around, bumping into other Digimon around her, and eventually, once most of the crowd died down, the now bewildered Periperi found her head spinning wildly, Ys quickly devolving into a blur in her own eyes. She rubbed her head a little weakly, trying to regain her bearings all around her, blinking several times.
A few moments later, through all the bustle and chatter from the residents, she could hear a voice calling out to her, forcing herself to turn around instinctively to see... a friendly looking Keramon in robes. And much to her surprise, she was actually offering to help her around, too!
Quickly, the Ludomon dusted her off and straightened herself out, opting to make as best of an impression as much as possible, before approaching the Keramon with a friendly smile, attempting to mask her inner nervousness, "Uh, yeah, I would really appreciate that." The Ludomon grinned a sharp, toothy grin, "I was just looking to go to the market, but I kinda got lost on the way there, eheh. Would you mind helping me out for a little bit, please?"
So those 2 Digimon partnered to Yui were called Bu and Fuu, huh? Funnily enough, those 2 Digimon looked eerily similar to one of the Dorumon and the Ryudamon in Persephone's photo when Kenny and Skadi paid her a visit that day. Were they one of Hikaru and Owen's many, many, many kids too? Either Hikaru or Owen wanted to have a huge family to their name, or they were just a little... busy a lot of times in their life.
As the two of them sat down to enjoy their takoyaki together with their fellow KIZNA teammate, it wasn't much of a surprise that Yui and co. had their own fair share of adventures too, especially for what seemed to be a newer Tamer. Kenny let out a small, self-aware chuckle at this as he ate, "I can see why. When you first become a Tamer, sometimes dealing with any Digimon in general can be quite a bit of a handful, hostile and friendly," He joked, "Like, my girl Skadi here seems all too happy to drag me into a plethora of crazy situations without warning."
"Aw, come on, Kenny, you've enjoyed a lot of them, haven't you?" The Valaismon retorted, lightly slugging him in the arm playfully.
Chuckling again as he rubbed his arm, the young man continued, "Yeah, you do got a point there, pal." He then turned back to the twin Tamer, "In fact, her constant dragging was what actually got us into KIZNA in the first place. And, to be honest with you, I don't either of us would be here today if we never got to meet Ryouta and Valt at the Spartan Training Grounds, and Skadi just up and sparred him for shits and giggles." Even to this day, his partner was completely unpredictable, even to her own Tamer. How Skadi's thought process worked, he'd probably never know.

It was funny. The Keramon had found herself in a similar situation to this little girl once before, and just as one of the royal family had aided her, so too would she help the little shield-based critter(?) find her way in the ancient city. "The market...Mmm. That's an easy one." She stated as she started to lead the Ludomon on. "Really you just need to be on the lookout for a surplus of stands and shops, it's a rather...communal sort of marketplace. Which carries it's own fair share of merits, too."
Mae explained on the way. Yes, the Keramon was Mae. She liked being helpful sometimes, okay? Perhaps the resemblance was very much because most Dorumon wound up looking the same, hmm? Outside of three particular cases within the city, of course! "Agreed--Dealing with those two's basically like dealing with a yin and a yang if that makes sense. One's painfully shy and the other...not so much."
The two Digimon looked up from their food. "What?" Yui told them. "It's endearing!" Turning her attention back to her peer, though. "I probably wouldn't be here either if Fuu and Bu hadn't dragged me out of the Spyware Caverns." A pause. "...I'd probably be a popsicle, eheh! They dragged me over here and I thought it'd be a good move to sign up with you guys."
At the mention of Skadi sparring people for shits and giggles, though? "Oh, uh. Mood." Bu nodded. Was she hip yet?

Despite the abject kindness of this sweet Keramon offering to help this little lost Ludomon, it was pretty hard for the latter to ignore the bigger picture, considering they were still two small Rookies navigating a large city, at least as far as she knew. At least the Keramon seemed to know the way to the markets, and as she went, the Ludomon would willingly listen and follow her along, keeping up the pace with her alien-like ally in the process.
But as they got closer to the market, the loud noise and the bustle seemed to grow larger and louder by the moment. Either she went on a bad day, or she had severely underestimated how popular Ys was. What if she accidentally lost her new Keramon friend inside the sea of regulars? What if she got lost and ended up unable to find her way out so easily?
No way was she taking any chances with that.
As they neared the entrance of the marketplace, she stopped in place for a brief moment, "Um, excuse me, Keramon," She uttered, raising a small paw up into the air as she addressed her friend, "...can you please hold my hand while you lead me around the marketplace please? I just don't want to accidentally separate from you... just in case..."
Hey, it was better than getting lost and/or trampled alone.
To Kenny, twin tamers were about as rare as hen's teeth, considering up until now, the only other twin tamer he knew was Colin, the guy who's Impmon and Elecmon helped save his life after the Arkadimon attack from God knows how long ago. He stifled a little chuckle from Yui's comments about her own partners, because it just felt all too relatable, amount of Digimon they had be damned.
Still, both of them listened in intrigue to how Yui joined KIZNA as they continued to eat together, and a knowing smile came across Kenny's face as the twin tamer mentioned about how her Digimon saved her from the Spyware Caverns and dragged her to Ys. Now why did that sound way too familiar to Kenny and Skadi again...? Small world, honestly.
He sighed happily as he leaned back onto his seat (but not before giving Bu a chuckle and an affectionate pat on the head for her comment), "Kinda reminds me, me and Skadi got into KIZNA via pretty similar circumstances. We came across Ryouta and Valt, they found this little special spark in the both of us, and just a week later, bam," He waved an arm in the air way down to his seat, "we're in KIZNA, just like that. At least, that's what Skadi told me."
A huge, hard-to-ignore grin emerged on Skadi's face, "I still get that giddy feeling whenever I remember that moment Valt praised me in our very first spar. He was clapping, and cheering, and yelling 'You clever girl! You passed! You passed!' at me, and..." she giggled happily, "Sweet Yggdrasil, that still feels so good!" Kenny chuckled once more as he pet his partner's head this time.
He wished he had a quarter of the positive energy she had.

Had...Had she not introduced herself to this little one? Mae tilted her head at the Ludomon before she nodded. "Sure. I'll be with you the whole time. Also...You can call me Mae. What's your name? If you have one, of course." She took the hand of the Ludomon to keep her close. Not that it was a simple endeavor, given how...large a Keramon's hands are.
Periperi would be safe. Mae would ensure this. Similar circumstances? Yui blinked a few times at that. "Well, I...might have forgotten to mention there was a Greymon trying to pin me down and eat me. Bit different than just running into two members, but...it all ends the same, right?"
Fuu looked to Skadi, meanwhile! "You must be a pretty good fighter to impress Valt like that...Good job." Was she sizing the sheep up? Perhaps. It was hard to believe such an adorable exterior could belie a fighter that could keep up with a...really goddamn buff Veemon.
"It is a pretty good feeling, right? Getting praised by an opponent..." Bu finally managed to interject. Wow. "What was that spar like, if I can ask?"

An oddly warm feeling had started to settle inside Periperi as the Keramon, Mae, grabbed her hand. The Ludomon responded thus, giving a tight but soft grip as she followed her into the marketplace, "I'm Periperi. And I'm new around here. It's really nice to meet you, Mae." She smiled kindly to her, keeping up the pace as they walked along.
Soon enough, both would enter the marketplace, and the Ludomon's eyes widened in surprise as she looked around the place; plenty of Digimon, big and small, bustling everywhere without as much care in the world. Mae could feel Periperi's grip tighten just a little bit harder from the young teddy's nerves starting to catch up to her. Yet Periperi still stood strong. She hadn't gone this far just to quit now.
"Wow..." Periperi could only mutter as her eyes glazed everywhere they could in awe, before landing on Mae, "Is this place really what you call home, Mae?" She inquired to the Keramon with just a tilt with her head. She couldn't help but be impressed by the sheer scale alone.
"I... guess you do have a fair point there, Yui." Kenny noted. Should he ask about that Greymon and what was it actually like to survive something crazy like that? Actually, maybe not. Probably too traumatic. Especially considering the massive strength and ferocity the average Greymon carried on it's shoulders, especially to a muggle-turned-tamer like her, if her description was anything to go by.
All the while, a light blush tinged over Skadi's face as she turned to Fuu complimenting her, "...thank you, Fuu. To be honest, I didn't think I had it in me." She uttered. Kenny couldn't resist giving a light chuckle as he pet his Digimon on the head.
Hm? What was the spar like, exactly? "It was amazing!" Skadi cried out, "When I was fighting Valt I managed to trick him by absorbing some of his winds, and when he was chasing me I shot him back with them, and he was clapping loudly like this," She intimidated that clapping that Valt did, "And he was all like 'clever girl, you passed! You passed!' and I was so excited that I managed to impress him! I'm so proud to be his disiciple."
Another chuckle came from Kenny, "Trust me when I say I've never heard the end of this."

Periperi, hm? That was a strange name, but one that was arguably unique enough to set this singular Ludomon apart from however many else existed in the world. From what Mae could tell, Legend Arms digimon were...a rarity. A sword and a shield. And potentially more. And also Spadamon. "I'm a little new myself, but I know the area. It's very nice to meet you as well, Periperi." Okay, actually -saying- the name was like a tongue twister. Neat.
That's what made up that classification. And yet there was one being led by her around Ys. It was odd! ...But at the same time, odd was what Mae was used to. "Mmm...Yeah. It's like a second home to me, one outside of the one I have at Luminas. The people here are like a family to me, you know? ...People meaning the people in the team that...run this place." Mae was swift to clarify this. "Is there anywhere in particular you want to go to in the market? There's maps to tell you where everything is." She pointed to one of the kiosks, something that could definitely help Periperi find...
Not just anything specific.
Everything. All things consider, Yui recounting what was probably a horrifying introduction to Digimon was probably something that many would consider confusing. However, Yui also didn't really think too much of it. She might have had more to say but her attention was quickly stolen by her partners having a nice interaction with Skadi.
...It was also pretty easy to see why Valt gave her praise, too. From what Bu could tell, this sausage-fingered goat was a rather tactical fighter. A clever girl, as those from a land down under might put it. Or like how Valt put it. Hm.
"Yeah, I know the feeling. Bu likes talking about her spars with one of the other members, a Spadamon named Ophelia. And when I say likes..." Yui trailed off, before Fuu cut right back in. "She can't stop talking about how she split an ice pillar on two with one headbutt at one point." The Dorumon nodded sagely.

How did Periperi get her name, exactly? Was it her real name? Her nickname? If anything, she didn't mind herself. It was something she liked. And something she didn't mind exactly. And happily for her, it looked like Mae herself also didn't mind either. And that she knew the place like it was engraved inside the back of her skull. It was like Yggdrasil explicitly sent down one of his followers out just to help her.
Wait, what did she mean by 'the team that run this place'? Was this entire team running literally everything inside the big fancy barrier? Ah, never mind. Was Mae a member of KIZNA herself? That was so cool! Already Periperi's mind was racing with the endless possibilities that it could bring to her...
That train of thought was quickly stopped on one simple question: where would she like to go? For a moment, the Ludomon scratched her cheek, lost in thought, before she answered, "Well, I do have some bits on me. Do you want me to buy you a snack from over there? As a thank you? For lunch?" She pointed to the food stalls with her free hand.
Hey, it was one way to repay the favour.
Honestly, it was hard to describe Skadi's most notable, and visually impressive, fights by simple word-of-mouth alone. But then again, the ferocity and the velocity of said fights made it already a little tricky for someone like Kenny to try and describe it all by himself without making it sound like he just escaped from the nearest insane asylum.
Thank God Skadi could be around to back his words up.
Skadi couldn't help but giggle a little at the mention of Ophelia, courtesy of Yuu, and to be frank, Kenny couldn't blame her. You couldn't put these two in the same room without them playfully roughhousing and tousling one another, fragile objects be damned. The only way to stop them was to just toss Valt into the room as well and wait for the problem to resolve itself in a matter of moments.
But the bit about Fuu and the ice pillar? Well, Kenny froze upon hearing that. He knew Digimon were tough creatures, Rookies included, yes, but a freaking ice pillar? With just her forehead? Simply blinking for a brief moment, his mouth agape for a brief moment, before simply stating, in an amazed and surprised tone, "...Jesus Christ, Buu." How could she do that and somehow avoid hurting herself in the process?
...the helmet. It had to be the helmet. That was the only explanation he could muster.
Skadi, on the other hand, had pretty much eked herself to the edge of her seat to stretch herself out to Buu, her face contorted into a wide grin, enough to let Kenny lean back in a little bit just to give himself a little more room, "Wow Buu, that's amazing! How'd you do that?"
Kenny just pushed Skadi back into the side with one hand, chuckling a little as he turned back to the gals, "Don't worry about her, she can get a little nosy herself sometimes.
