While in reality, the circumstances that led to Akemi meeting Anzu weren't...quite as simple as Amelie had made them seem, neither of them had a way of knowing that, right? "Doesn't seem like it at...a first glance. It seems like they've grown pretty close since...however long they've known each other, though." That's all anyone could really ask for with critters like these, right?
Of course, Shizu got the immediate and possibly accurate impression that Amelie might have enjoyed hearing herself speak. "Makes plenty of sense, actually!" Gacha roulette, though? "That's probably the most apt way to describe that that I've heard so far." A totally free one-stop gacha roulette that had cursed beans in it.
Amazing.
The luck of the Amaya on the other hand was...something that was laughable at best. "Hopefully it doesn't?" It sounded a little ominous, truth be told. "I don't like calling our luck 'bad.' Makes it seem like we know it's...not the best. I think unpredictable's a better word for it."
Like a gacha roulette! "Of course I'll look forward to it! If they're friends with my sis, then obviously they have to be nice people, right?" The frenchwoman obviously held a point, though. They had to deal with all the food first before they could talk more regarding this subject. "I'm...hm. I'm actually not sure what I should expect, given all I have is second-hand knowledge. I need to actually -go- there, you know?"

The brunette nodded sagely at Shizuka's statement. "Yes. Despite what might outward appearances might suggest, Akemi and Anzu are very close to each other, and one could say that they're actually very good friends. It's just that Anzu's got a very... special way to show affection, you know? She's what one would call a book tsundere. She'd rather die than openly admit she's fond of anyone, even though actions surely speak louder than words for her. Overall, I think she's a very good friend, even if a bit... quirky, for the lack of a better word."
Sure, the circumstances in which said duo had met weren't precisely clear for the brunette, but she still thought she had more or less an accurate representation of these two. Maybe! There was no true way to know for certain when it came to them.
Another nod was given to the following statement. "Yeah. I wish there was a way to manipulate the result or at least to skew the odds in one's favor, but if there is, I haven't discovered it yet. I guess it just depends on whether you're lucky or not. I'll be rooting for you, though! We'll see what happens when it does."
Overall, it seemed like Shizuka was well on her way towards her Digital journey, and she actually seemed excited about it...? At least, she had taken it a lot better than the usual newly-minted digidestined did.
"I agree; firsthand experience beats any kind of questions that I might answer, but being prepared to what you might find there doesn't hurt either. But~!" The young woman clapped her hands, a smile already etched on her face. "Other than that, do you have any other questions? If not, I think we can pay and get going. Unless you'd like a dessert? I'm game for that."
She wasn't complaining on the slightest.

"She does seem like one of those people, honestly...Anzu, I mean. The kind that show their affection in -real- particular ways." Shizu tilted her head as the phrase tsundere was used. What was that? Hm.
It was pretty clear she was unfamiliar with that term, but she nodded her head a few times regardless. Definitely gonna look that up once they were home. I'm rooting for you, though...It felt nice to know that someone believed in at least one of this family having good luck. It put a genuine smile on Shizuka's face.
It was less excitement being shown from the girl, and more a legitimate interest. What started as a passing curiosity began to yield more and more information that she had not previously known. Ergo, the inevitable question had been posed. How deep did it go? That...led here.
"There's no such thing as being too careful, after all. I do have one more question." A deeeevious smirk (for an Amaya) appeared on Shizu's face. "What sort of dessert would you like?"
...Perhaps that may not have been how Amy had expected that to go, but the ball was in the frenchwoman's court.

A hum of approval was given to Shizu's notion. "Yup, that's just the Anzu we all know an love. Quite the sweetheart, isn't she? Still, I think that she's a pretty close friend; probably one of the digimons with whom I've bonded the most, I might add."
Granted, Amy herself wasn't very big on digimons, but at least she could say that there were at least a few whose company she enjoyed. Anzu was one of those.
Interestingly enough, that reverie would be interrupted by the comment that followed. An interesting expression for an interesting girl was the result of an exchange that the brunette hadn't expected on the slightest. "Has anyone ever told that you can be a lot like your sister sometimes? That was pretty smooth." A borderline childish giggle erupted from the girl's mouth.
She stared to the establishment's door before nodding. "I want some ice cream, are you up to it? Everyone likes sushi, but I might need to gauge your taste regarding ice cream to know if you're worthy of hanging out with me."
That had been an smug —even if acted— statement. Unceremoniously, after paying for their food, Amy began to walk towards the exit. What kind of ice-cream did Shizu like?

To bond so closely with a Digimon with as many issues as Anzu was something that Shizu could, surprisingly enough, respect a little bit. Especially given the bean's numerous issues that...she had made a few leaps and bounds in overcoming.
"No, actually...Does she say stuff like that a lot? I thought it was a good thing to ask..." It had not struck Shizu that maybe Amelie had been referring more to the Council rather than food. Though, food was indeed on the small girl's mind!
Except, ice cream might have taken her a bit off guard. "Yes. I feel precisely the same." Shizuka's gaze hardened into a stare that could potentially pierce through the souls of the unworthy. "Pick your poison, Amelie." Wasn't that something you ordinarily reserve for drinks?
Either way, the smaller girl followed the bigger out to the door. "Could be anything. Just don't get me mint--that's for old and sad people."

It was true that, while Anzu was a very peculiar digimon with her own set of values and morals, yet nonetheless made for a priceless friend once her trust was gained. Nonetheless, that wasn't the point of the current conversation.
Funnily enough, it was about how being a smooth talker was apparently a trait shared in the Amaya bloodline. "You'd be surprised. I think you two just have a way with words that make a bit jealous." She said, smirking with amusement all the way. Alas, Amy couldn't have the best traits of every person ever. That'd make her too much of a Mary Sue.
Alas, there wasn't nearly enough time for that. The duo was already on their way to get ice-cream, and, even if Shizu hadn't picked any flavor in particular, her reply was good enough to make the brunette nod with satisfaction. "Right? Mint is something that only old people should eat. But I guess I can't criticize people for their tastes... too much."
Overall? It was a small walk towards a pretty small, but nonetheless quality ice cream shop. And, soon enough? The girl was carrying two cones, one of which was handed to her smaller peer. Its coloration was characteristically pink. "It's strawberry. Hope you like it."
Amy's herself was pitch-black, just like her soul. "I feel like we had a good time today. We should hang out more often! And that isn't to say, that I should definitely show you the city at some point. It's gonna be so fun!"
Was the young woman getting ahead of herself? Probably, but that was pretty much Amelie, for starters.

While it was true that the family had a strange way with words that others could not quite replicate or keep up with at times...Were they all aware of that? To hear that you caused another girl who was also (probably) your friend to be just a bit envious, though. Should Shizu have felt proud of that?
Such was just one of many good questions that existed within the world. "Well, yeah, not everyone that likes mint's an old person. I just don't think it's something I'd go out of my way to eat, if that makes sense." Shizu replied as she did her best to keep up with the much taller Amy. Being short was not fun most of the time.
Shizu accepted the ice cream offered to her, and was pretty much stabbing it with her tongue while Amy spoke. She gave her a nod. Yes, it was true, she was probably getting ahead of herself, but it was still a kind offer of her. "I'd like that. Sometime soon, yes!"

A hint of wisdom could be detected on the small girl’s words. It was true; while mint wasn’t necessarily a taste exclusive to old people, it surely lent itself for teasing others. Something which might or might not have been among Amy’s favored brands of humor. In any case, it seemed like the two girls were enjoying their frozen treats at the moment, and that’s what mattered the most.
Once they were done, Amy gestured at Shizu to follow her while she headed back to the car. “Well. I hope that was fun enough for you! Because it was for me.” It wouldn’t be that long of a journey, and they’d eventually get where. And, once they did and the engine roared to life again, a look would be given to the shorter girl. “Ready to continue? We still have quite the long day ahead of us. At least, for as long as you can bear with me!”
An effervescent giggle came out of her mouth. Could it be that she was having fun? At least at the moment, it sure seemed like it!

"I mean...Did it...look like I wasn't having fun?" Shizu blinked a few times in confusion while she followed Amelie. Regardless of this, it did seem like the two girls were kindred spirits in some shape or form. Which could be pretty telling as to what sort of company Akemi kept.
"Of course I am!" The girl nodnodded a few times as she got in the car and the engine roared to life. It was pretty clear that despite her height, Shizu at least had the patience to deal with one entire Amelie for an extended period of time. "If anything, you should be prepared to bear with me rather than the other way around."
Because her own sister could barely stomach her sometimes, it was likely wise to dispense this warning now rather than later. "So. Are you ready, Amy?"

Shizu’s own response made sense in the context of the conversation. And in all honesty? Even if Amy prided herself to be a somewhat empathetic person, getting a read of somebody she had met this very afternoon wasn’t an easy task, and that was to say the least.
“I mean…” A shrug followed those words. “You look like you did, but better be safe than sorry, right?” At least in her mind, that was a pretty valid question! Flip side? At least there wouldn’t be any misunderstandings for the time being!
“I think you’re pretty fine! If I didn’t know better, I’d almost think you’re the older sister.” Luckily, Akemi wasn’t there to hear those words! Else she might’ve felt a bit incensed.
In any case, the car was getting ready to get to their next destination when the brunette’s phone rang. Taking a moment to answer the call, a small conversation ensued before she hung up and looked at the shorter girl.
“Do you mind if we pick my dau-.” Stop. Oh wait, Shizu already knew about the whole digimon deal. Amy had gotten confused for a moment. “My daughter on the way back? She was spending some time with my roommate, but she’s got an appointment at the moment.”
With some luck, Shizu wouldn’t mind a third member on their small group! It had been a good day, all things considered. Shizu had proven to be a sweetheart, and it was definitely a good thing that Loire managed to know people a bit more ‘around her age’ than the ‘adults’; and the two seemed to get along fairly well!
It was a true pity that, for reasons outside anyone’s reach, that meeting would eventually end —or be cut short—, but that was fine. Amelie had the feeling the two would see each other again. Well, not hard to guess considering she was Akemi’s sister!
Yet, at the same time, it also felt way more than that. [Exit]
