(( OOC notes: Continued from this thread. Maria barely speaks a word of Japanese, so she'll either need a Digimon to translate for her or a character who knows English. )) Maria was left standing on the train platform, staring open-mouthed and holding her strange pink device as a talking train rolled away, leaving her with no idea of where she was or how she would get home. Assuming this all wasn't some crazy dream, of course. Just to check, she pinched her cheek, wincing when she put a bit too much force behind it. Nope, she wasn't dreaming, and now she had a sore cheek. Great. Maybe the stress of moving to Japan had finally gotten to her and she'd just imagined that the train was talking. On the one hand, that made a lot more sense than what she'd seen in the past several minutes. On the other, it made her seem a bit crazy. She wasn't sure which was the better option. Probably best to just not think about it and focus on getting back home, instead. She turned around, looking around for any sign of a schedule or someone who could tell her where the heck she was... assuming she could understand either of those, of course. Ugh, where was Annabelle when she needed her...?

"You know, I don't get why people would still be fine after commuting hours nonstop like this. To be honest, the last thing I want after school is to ride some vehicle for few more minutes. You know I'm already sitting for hours already! Give me something to lift, or something to work at!" Tetsu protested.
"Come now, brother. I know you're tired, but venting like this won't give you anything. Now that we're here at least the travel will only take a while," his partner, Gryz the Bearmon pacified him, patting his back.
Well, it can't be helped considering they only have access to Ys, which lies in the north when it comes to what portal they have available; and going there means they'll need more time to ride wherever their destination wise. So the way to go is to after all, going to Trailmon Terminal.
"Saaay, what should we do today? I feel like buying some stuff to prepare for our next adventure..."
"More food? Or more items in general?" Gryz asked back
"Probably... more items... Or just resting again? But resting is boring though..."
Tetsu stood near a foreigner looking girl... Ugh, this one is taller than him... Burying a complicated feeling in his chest, he looked up to the schedule and...
"...Hmmm, Rosewood, Rustport and Whitewater in fifteen minutes. Village of Beginning in thirty, Ys in an hour (holy shit), Snowflake in thirty minutes too... Seriously, where to go I wonder..." Tetsu rubbed his chin as he thoughtfully think of his route.

Ah the Trailmon Terminal. This was a place that Pickle was very familiar with by now, considering the sheer amount of time they spent exploring the Digital World. Normally they'd already have a destination in mind by the time they arrived here, but right now they weren't sure where they wanted to go. Perhaps they should just hang around Terminal City today? They wandered around the terminal thoughtfully, carefully moving around the various others that filled the space as they considered their options.
It was one their second meandering round of the terminal that they saw it, a Trailmon pulled up and a very confused and frustrated looking girl stepped out, looking more than a little bit lost. She definitely looked foreign, although it was hard to tell exactly where she was from. Hopefully she spoke Japanese or English. Pickle wasn't great at English but they were usually able to get their point across when it counted. If nothing else they could always turn into a Digimon and take advantage of the odd innate translation abilities they had. It wasn't as clear for her as it was for a real, pure Digimon, but it was enough. There was also a Tamer nearby, hopefully he and his partner could lend a hand if language became a problem. Either way they couldn't just ignore someone looking distressed.
"Hello, you look a bit lost, do you need help?" They said it first in Japanese, and then in English just in case. Their English was slower, the pronunciation a bit garbled, but still understandable.

Maria's eyes wandered to the shorter boy who stood beside her. Now that she thought about it, there weren't many people here, were there? She was used to Shibuya's ridiculously crowded subways, so the fact that there were so few people at this terminal only furthered her suspicions that this place wasn't... well, normal, if she had to pick a word.
The boy, not surprisingly, spoke Japanese as he looked up at what Maria realized was the train schedule. But before she could get a good look at it, something brown caught her eye. She looked down to see...
A kid in a bear costume. Yep. That's what that was. Definitely nothing weirder than that, nope.
Someone else spoke, drawing Maria's attention away before she could stare in bewilderment for too long. Her face fell into a frown when at first, the stranger spoke Japanese, but then, they translated in slow, poorly pronounced English. For once, Maria decided not to complain. There was already too much weird stuff going on; she'd take anything "normal" she could get.
"Oh, thank God, you speak English," Maria said, probably too fast for a non-native speaker. "Do you know where we are? How do we get back to Shib—"
Bee-dee-da-deep, bee-dee-da-deep, bee-dee-da-deep!
Despite her attempt to keep what little composure she had left, her eye twitched at the familiar annoying sound. She pressed the center button of her Digivice (not that she knew it was called that) a few times, forcing a smile. "Shibuya," she continued as if nothing had happened. "How do we get back to Shibuya?"

This terminal was definitely much less crowded than the average Shibuyan train terminal, which Shizu was not only not very surprised about, but she was also rather relieved. The fact this was here meant she didn't need to continually rely on her sister using a digiport to go to and from the Digital World.
...
Looking for spirits was tough work, okay? Especially when your digivice just flat out didn't do much at all aside from spark and beep incessantly. Either way, Shizu walked up towards the place with the schedules on it, and towards the gathered crowd. From here anyone could go...practically anywhere that a train could go. Though, there were people here that were conversing or looking through the schedules. The former in English...She didn't have that good of a grasp on the language, but she got the gist of what was being said.
She looked to the overtly muscular kid. "...Hey, which of these outside of Whitewater would you go to?" The japanese was probably painful to hear for the foreigner. Prooobably. But Shizu was keeping quiet for a reason. Mostly so the two could chat in peace. Hopefully.

Oh, there are two other person... and the foreigner speaking in English? Tetsu decided to chime because he finally understood what she wanted to ask. "Well, if you want to go back to Real World, the train heading that way should be coming in one hour. It shouldn't be too long of a wait." His English isn't really perfect. It's very thick with accent and he lagged a bit, but it should be good enough for the taller girl to understand hopefully. Gryz meanwhile simply raises his paw in greetings.
Though not after a few seconds later he got asked, this time by a Japanese. Oh drats, he's not done explaining, so he looked at Gryz, who nodded and looked at the girl Tetsu answered to while the boy now switched to Japanese to talk with the older one.
"...Oh? Um... let's see... Well, if you don't like Whitewater, I'd go to Rosewood. It's calm and relaxing there. I would also go to Snowflake if coldness isn't an issue. The onsen there is heavenly, you know? It's good for relaxing and definitely good for napping afterward..."
Meanwhile, Gryz decided to chime in the talk with the foreigner girl...
"I assume that you're lost then, young lady? Like my partner here said, Trailmon going to Real World will resume their operation in one hour. It's a break time, you see. As for where you are, let's say you're in another world that's connected to Shibuya. If you don't trust me because I looked like an amusement park mascot, I assure you I have no zipper. It's much easier to treat me as a talking bear instead."
This one's english is very fluent meanwhile.

It took Pickle a minute to process what Maria had said, as they were both having to translate what was being said in their head and distracted by the incessant beeping coming from what looked like a Digivice of some sort. They didn't have a chance to answer before the Tamer and his partner nearby piped in on their own. Shooting a grateful look at the pair, especially the bear-like Digimon that was now present, they gestured down to the girl's Digivice and speaks again in careful English, taking the time to make sure her words got out properly.
"That looks like a Tamer Digivice, where is your partner? I do not think they normally make that much noise." They were wincing slightly as they spoke, disliking how stilted and formal they sounded in the foreign language. But clearly from the girl's previous reaction when they had spoken in Japanese, she probably couldn't speak much of it herself. It was only right to make an effort if they were the one trying to help.
They looked at the Digimon that had joined them and switched back to Japanese for a moment. "Thanks, I'm not very good at English so I might need your help translating if you don't mind. This is probably her first time here, do you think she got on a Trailmon by accident? From the looks of things she has no idea what's going on right now." And then back to the girl.
"Did you... ride the Trailmon on purpose? You look confused and lost." They couldn't help but be a bit blunt when speaking another tongue, they weren't used to English at all and it wasn't their best subject in school either. During this whole conversation, Pickle kept a smile on their face, friendly and reassuring. "Oh! You can call me Pickle, what is your name?"

"Real... world?" Maria echoed the excessively muscular boy (wow, how had she not noticed those muscles before?), raising a skeptical eyebrow. But then someone else asked him something in Japanese, so he signaled to the kid in the bear costume, who continued explaining for him.
Unfortunately, that explanation didn't really do much for Maria, who crossed her arms, eyebrow still raised, before speaking: "You expect me to believe we're in some other world and that you're actually a talking bear?" She tried to laugh, but it was rather weak and shaky. Being in another world would explain all of this weirdness... but that was impossible! Other worlds didn't exist!
... Right?
"My partner?" Maria asked the other stranger, which was followed by an excited chirp from her "Tamer Digivice." So that's what this thing was called. "What partner?"
Her weight shifted to one foot, and she frowned in annoyance as the stranger began speaking with the "bear" in Japanese. She only caught the words "English" and "Trailmon" before the stranger turned back to her.
"Yes, I'm lost!" Maria snapped. "I got on a train to find my maid, and now I'm here, and people are trying to tell me this is some other world and there are actually talking bears!" She huffed, flipping her hair in what was, to her, a comforting motion. It made her feel like she still had some semblance of control, even after her little outburst.
"Maria Wellington. Not that I'd expect you to know why that's so important. What kind of name is 'Pickle,' anyway?"

Rosewood, huh? She repeated that phrase to herself a few times while the boy's partner, a rotund and chunky bear the likes of which outweighed a particular bean of legend (severely so), joined in the conversation with his own rather fluent English in an attempt to provide clarity to this sassy and lost kid who was close to Shizu's age.
"Yes. He is indeed a talking bear." Shizu stated in English. Oh god, this was going to be the single worst conversation she had ever had in her whole life. "...This is a lot of things to dispack." THAT WASN'T EVEN A WORD. "My english isn't the best, so...I should let the other girl do it." Pickle. That was her name.
...Weird name, but she felt it was pretty valid. "Amaya Shizuka." She introduced herself rather quickly, bowing before she quieted down once more. She silently wondered what could happen next, considering Maria didn't seem to be having the...best day in the world.

Eh, what's even happening over there? The girl just starting to speak so haughtily that Tetsu just craned his neck and he just... makes a complicated expression? Like, just how stuck up is this kid? Tetsu just... looked at Gryz and before the bear could stop him.."...Nnnnnnope? Pretty sure you never heard of me either so I guess we're both the same... ship? Kayak? Plus if I have heard of someone with that family name, pretty sure that's not you, but your Mama and Papa, probably?" Tetsu answered in English.
Sharp, no nonsense, but that's how Tetsu rolls to the face of haughty people like her. What with some kids flaunting off their father's or mothers, or whatever ancestor twice passed third estranged's wealth or accomplishment as their own? It's not like they have a hand on it. Parents on the other hand are different. They're at least have some hands on what they kid did.
Gryz meanwhile was frozen, but chortled out a laugh. "Sass, on point," Gryz commented in Japanese, which made Tetsu sticks out his tongue coyly.
Gryz just returned back to Pickle meanwhile "Interesting name that you have there. But returning to your question uh... what's your preferred term of address? -san? Either way, she took the wrong train definitely. There's no other explanation on that. Considering how complex is a japanese's railway is, and sometimes without english guide, you'll get lost easily, so I wouldn't blame her on that."
Gryz of course was amused to the little girl's outburst. "Well, if you don't believe me you're free to check my mouth, miss. Or my back. Pretty sure I got no zippers anywhere."
Well, anyway, introduction!
"Shishidou Tetsushi, a nobody, really! Here's my partner, Gryz." Tetsu curtsied, perhaps a bit sarcastically, but admittedly messing with someone like this is fun.

"Pickle is a... nickname? I think that is the right word." Pickle was entirely unflustered by Maria's attitude, still smiling in the face of her little outburst and haughty mannerisms. "Your partner is a Digimon like Gryz! You have a Tamer Digivice, so you must have a partner somewhere." They hold up their own Digivice, a D-tector covered in charms of all sorts. "I have no partner I am not a Tamer. I can become a Digimon." They look around at the others who had been tossing out their own input before looking back at Maria. "If you are here, it means you meet your partner soon. Most people who come here accidentally meet them."
They looked at Gryz and and his Tamer, listening to their little exchange before offering them and the girl a quick nod, always grinning as they replied in Japanese to the trio. "Very nice to meet all of you! Don't worry too much about your English Shizuka, I'm not... great at it either. Also! Not a girl! Not really anyway. I'm kinda a girl, sometimes a girl, but you can address me as a girl if you feel most comfortable with that, I don't mind either way really. We should help Maria find her partner, if she has a Digimon with her it'll probably help her out!"
They looked happily back at Maria, swapping back to English. "You can get back home when the Trailmon start again, but until then we can help you find your Partner? But you are in another world, the Digital World, and it is amazing and also dangerous if you are not prepared." They paused for a moment to think before their grin grows wider. "I think I can help prove it more! Do not freak out, Maria." And they backed up, looking around and noticing that thankfully pretty much everyone other than their little group had filtered out of the Terminal by now.
Pickle raised their D-tector up slowly to their head, struck a quick pose, and called out "Spirit, evolve!" They were surrounded by a swirling sphere of light before crashing through the front of it now changed. "Labramon!" They took a moment to shake themself off, reveling in their now canine form before trotting back up to the others. "See, I'm a Spirit User, which means I can become Digimon. You're a Tamer, so you have a Partner instead!" Their words translated for the others, Maria hearing them in English while the others heard Japanese, though the English translation was still a bit odd sounding. "This'll make it easier to talk to everyone too! I shoulda done this earlier really."

"Unpack," Maria corrected for Shizuka. "Yes, let... Pickle take care of the English." It felt weird calling another person "Pickle."
She wasn't sure what was more surprising: that everyone here knew at least enough English to talk to her (then again, Pickle looked more likely to know English than the rest) or that she had just been so... calmly sassed by the muscular boy. For a moment, her eyes went wide at the unexpected comeback, but she quickly recovered and turned her head to one side with a frown, arms still crossed. "Well, of course I haven't heard of you," she said. "You're clearly not important enough. Besides, I can't expect people like you to know about my family, anyway."
She wasn't sure about taking up the bear kid on his offer. On the one hand, actually finding the zipper on that costume would have been so satisfying. On the other hand... part of her was afraid that she wouldn't actually find one. "Uh, no, I'm not touching you," she settled on saying, attempting to disguise her hesitance as disgust.
Shishidou and Gryz... At least Gryz would be easy to remember, along with Pickle, even if it was a weird nickname. Maria almost asked what it was short for, but she knew there was no way she'd be able to remember. Amaya and Shishidou were already slipping from her mind (not to mention the fact that she'd already forgotten that Japanese people usually introduced themselves with their last names first).
Tetsushi's curtsy got a muffled snicker out of her. She was pretty sure he was making fun of her, but the sight of such a muscular kid curtsying was probably the funniest thing she'd seen all day.
The more Pickle explained things, the more Maria felt like she was having some sort of fever dream. Tamer Digivice... Digimon... Partner... The Digital World... It all sounded like some kids show. And the others kept turning to each other and speaking Japanese. What were they saying? Again, Maria only caught a couple of words: "English," "girl," her own name. She wondered if they were all in on some kind of elaborate joke connected to all of this digital nonsense.
But any doubts she had about the reality of her current situation all but shattered when Pickle turned into a white and pink dog. Despite their request for Maria not to freak out, she let out a surprised yelp and stumbled back, doomed to fall gracelessly onto her rear unless someone caught her. Her Digivice clattered against the terminal floor, revealing an arrow on the screen that pointed east, no matter which way the device was turned. Those more familiar with the Digital World may have realized it was pointing toward the Village of Beginnings.
For several long, painful seconds, she stared at the transformed girl. She looked around, looking for some kind of curtain or light projector or something that revealed this all as an illusion. But there wasn't anything. Just an emptying train terminal, two other kids, a talking bear that suddenly seemed way more likely, and this person-turned-dog.
"If I'm dreaming," Maria finally said, her bravado and anger sucked out of her, "I'd like to wake up now."

This was a lot to process at once. See, Shizu wasn't...informed on people who were nonbinary or genderfluid. So, Pickle actually did end up teaching her something new in that there were people like that in the world. Shizu remained silent for a few moments, as though processing this information, before she nodded a few times. She thinks she gets it.
"Okay. I'm not too worried about it, but...still, I might slip up with the English. We definitely should find her partner if she has one, though." Question was, though...What would befit such a...sassy and bratty girl such as Maria?
The answer to this would have to wait, as Pickle proceeded to demonstrate something that Shizu's BRICK of a device could not accomplish. Spirit evolution. Into...A dog. A real good dog. Awwwww.
Shizu turned to Maria. "I mean, I can pinch you if you want? It'd be a bit unpleasant but that's the surefire way to tell if you're dreaming, isn't it...?"

(this was very late, I'm sorry)
Admittedly, neither Tetsu does Gryz understand about genderfluid too much, but the Digimon pretty much treat it like how some Digimons does not go by 'he' or 'she' in traditional sense, and that's fine. The explanation sort of make Tetsu's head spins though... sometimes a girl and sometimes not? ...the boy tilted his head, puzzled. The topic probably a bit too advanced for him at the moment, but who cares? Pickle is Pickle, that's all that's important right? They're nice!
...There's more pressing matter though. "Well, I would say it's normal that you don't know me. You're new to this place anyway, right? The same goes with me. I can't possibly know who you are or who your parents are when I hold no interest in what your parents do," Tetsu commented with a shrug. "So without the name to back you up, why are you still acting like a spoiled lass? It doesn't really makes sense."
...Tetsu probably need a bit more lesson in how some people aren't as adaptive as he is in new situation, Gryz thought. But whatever, it was amusing ...these two are just going to sass each other, huh... What an interesting dynamic.
"Well, lass, if you're dreaming, then it must be awfully realistic dream..." Gryz commented. "Pinch yourself and you'll know... and how lucid are you based on your action? That's another rhetoric that you need to find out yourself."

Maria's reaction was pretty much what Pickle had expected, although they'd been hoping it wouldn't be quite so bad. Still, this was headway one way or another. "I promise you aren't dreaming, I just Spirit Evolved, this is my S-spirit Labramon." Their voice was gentle as they very carefully nudged Maria's hand with their muzzle, aiming for reassuring as they took advantage of now being an adorable doggy. "You're in a world that's different from the one we come from, but that's not a bad thing. You're supposed to be here for a reason, and since time moves differently here you won't be gone long on the other side so don't worry too much about worrying others." They knew they weren't the best at this sort of thing, but they figured that giving the basics to someone up front was better than taking their time with it. "You're not alone, keep that in mind and things will be a lot easier I bet!"
At that they turned their attention to the Digivice beeping insistently on thee ground where it had been dropped. "Well! Looks like you have a direction to go at least. That's more than a lot of people have at first" Their tail started wagging happily as they looked around at everyone. "If we follow the arrow, I betcha we'll get to where we need to be, and since we have time before the Trailmon start work again, how about we see where this goes?" They were grinning, shifting from paw to paw as they sat their waiting for the others to weigh in. "It'll be Maria's first adventure here!"
