YUUUUKO-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!
Ah, stop being a party-killer, Lop-chan! It’s just a hug, and Yuko-chan is my bestest friend, so i’m gonna hug her as many times as it takes for the message to sink in.
Ehehehe… Ok, ok, I’ll stop! Sheesh!.
Aaaanyway, Yuko-chan! You’re not gonna believe this, but Lopmon and I just came back from another dimension! Like, a whoooole new mess of a dimension.
No, it wasn’t the Digital world, Yuko-chan! I’m sure of it!
Aw, come on, Jokah-chan! I’m not THAT STUPID! Lop-chan and I know enough about the digital world at this point to know the difference, know?! And that place was NOTHING like the Digital World. Actually, now that I think about it, it reminds me of our world! Specifically, it reminds me of a private island mom and dad took me to last year to meet a new business partner. But the weird thing is that not only there was magic in that world, but you’re not gonna believe it, but they solved EVERYTHING with Cards!
Nuh-uh! It’s totally true! And it’s not like our enhancer cards! They’re totally different and the people of that world are totally obsessed with those cards.
Ok, lemme start from the beginning.
So, you remember when Junpei-Kun, you and I first fell into the Digital World through the portal in the Shibuya River? The one where we found our Digivices? Ok, so get this: I was going there to show Lop-chan-
No, I wasn’t going to take a dip into it again! Lop-chan here wouldn’t have let me and you know that.
Moving on, I was just walking around when I saw a little girl fall down from the main bridge into the dirty part of the river. Logically, Lop-chan and I wouldn’t let that happen, so Lop-Chan and I used maneuver 2 to save her. Oh, you never saw maneuver 2… Ok, so basically it consists of me throwing Lop-chan at someone who’s falling and he digivolves into Turuiemon and saves the person on midair. Cool, right? We invented it on the beach one day for a cannonball contest with Valt and Ryouma.
So we did get her, but right as we did, something fell out of her pocket. It looked like some sort of… red card with a rose drawn on it.
And here comes a doozy: When the card touched the water, it began glowing and a cyclone formed on the water! A red one, to boot! Lop-chan managed to get the girl to safety, but when he did, he was sucked into the vortex! I couldn’t just let him get sucked in! so i jumped into it to try and pull us both out by making him evolve into Cherubimon. It was then my Digivice glowed along with the card and we suddenly were falling face-first into a road in the middle of an island! Like, it was water as far as the eye could see and a huuuuuuuge island behind us! And what was weirder, Lop-chan had reverted to his original form! Logically the first thing we do in this case was asking around where we were, thinking we WERE in the Digital World, but there wasn’t a single Digimon in sight! only people dressed in uniforms. Fortunately, the first bunch of people DIDN’T freak out when they first see Lop-chan moving. Especially this one guy in black who kept talking to himself and another one who was as big as me and wore a cute dino bandanna.
What were their names again, Lop-chan?
Ohhhhh! Manjoume-chan and Kenzan-chan! Thanks, friend!
So when I met them, I told them everything- Lying is bad, Yuko-Chan! Plus, it’s not like the info was useful to them anyway!
As I was saying, I told them everything and they… didn’t bat an eye. Heck, Manjoume-Sanda - yeah, he told me to call him that - Told me this wasn’t even CLOSE to the weirdest thing they’ve ever been through. And you know me, Yuko-Chan, I LOVE a good story! But when I asked them about it…
They did not take it well.
The first thing they did was starting to look around for a beautiful girl called Asuka, her brother Fubuki and a little guy called Sho-Chan and then they told us to meet them at a place called Osiris Red Dorm. So, get this! Apparently, the place I landed in was a school that taught kids how to play Card Games! Specifically, this really hard card game called Duel Monsters! Crazy, right?! Like, it’s part of the mandatory subjects they need credits to graduate! The dorms they mentioned were also sorted by their performances, so the better you do, the bigger the dorm you’re placed into
I’M NOT MAKING THIS UP, I SWEAR YUKO-CHAN!
So, I get called to meet up with the rest of the guys and they had a story to tell. Apparently, Duel Monsters was based on this really weird Egyptian ritual to call forth monsters to do battle but things got out of hand and the game was buried until a guy called Pegasus Crawford decided to recreate the game into the modern world, and ever since it’s been abused by bad guys to do magic bad things!
They dealt with some of those themselves, just like we did! There was one incident where they had to face off against 3 evil gods, an evil light who wanted to blow up the planet and even being trapped in another dimension by a demon…
And this part made me perk up! If they got back, they must’ve found a way to! I asked for more details, but when I did…
S-sorry… I just… need a moment. This part gets a bit hard to deal with.
It took a bit of talking and Lopmon almost came to blows with the dino bandanna guy!
Huh? Yeah, i did call Lopchan by his name. Why, is that weird?
Ok, so… anyway. They eventually started retelling the story. A while ago they were trapped in another dimension by a spirit called Yubel, who was obsessed with one of their friends, a guy called Judai Yuki. In fact, this guy was the reason they became friends in the first place! And the spirit wanted to have Judai all for itself! To do that, it manipulated a lot of people and even got most of them separated and destroyed the guy’s psyche to the point where he became an evil king in that dimension and started slaughtering people left and right to complete a card called Super Fusion, that could fuse anything together. And I mean ANYTHING! Like, it almost destroyed the entire multiverse when Yubel tried using it.
But… to stop it, their friend had to intercept the fusion and fuse with Yubel, which allowed him to transport them all back home, but… he had to stay behind.
This whole thing happened a few weeks back, and once they finished telling the story, Sho-Chan disappeared into the woods. Asuka-chan and Fubuki-chan explained to me how he’s been running himself haggard to go looking for Judai, even though they pretty much were assuming he wouldn’t come back.
Now, I didn’t want to intrude on their problems, but I kiiiiiinda had to if I wanted to go home. This guy was possibly the only way to get back here, after all!
So i offered to find Sho-Chan and keep him company.
It wasn’t hard to find him with Lop-chan’s help. Since he could fly in his base form, we had an easy time spotting him. He told us to go away, at first, but after we told them we wouldn’t leave him alone and I used the puppy face on him, he let us stick around.
He began telling us that this Judai guy was the reason he overcame many of his personal demons, but also an incredibly selfish guy at times. In fact, this whole thing started because he was looking for someone who Yubel trapped in another world. We spent almost the whole night talking, but I think this would drag too long if I went into detail about the stuff he told me.
And believe me, Yuko-chan, it was a LOT! Poor guy had enough emotional baggage to get me to cry!
Hey, I’m a sensible guy, Ok?!
It was then that a loud boom came from the forest and we both ran to investigate. And my god, I swear I’ve never seen someone so happy to see a guy before. The very night I came in, Judai came back!
But there was something different about him, according to Sho. I just noted one thing about him…
His eyes… it looked as if the guy was just a ghost walking around. Nonononono! He was just fine physically. It’s just that he looked as if he was dead inside. Like, imagine you on the New Year’s party back at my house, but… a hundred times worse.
Yeah, it wouldn’t even come CLOSE to how bad the kid looked.
When I went to greet him, he looked as if he was about to jump me and Lop-chan! His eyes turned green on one and orange on the other and started glowing! He immediately told me to get the hell away from Sho-chan! Thankfully, Sho stopped him and explained the situation, but it didn’t help much. I still could feel those creepy eyes on me.
Lop-chan! Don’t judge him just because he was fused with a spirit! That doesn’t make him an unholy abomination!
Nuh-uh!
Nuh-uh!
Nuh-uh times ten!
Good!
So, when we got back to the dorm, it was a really intimate thing, so I stayed on the balcony of the Osiris Red dorm while the guys all caught up with Judai for a while, aaaaaaand I fell asleep on the door! Not like it’s a good place to sleep, but it’s better than the wet ground, right?
So the next day, they talk to the principal and let me stay in a room in the same dorm Judai stayed while they figured something out. Turns out the Osiris dorm was mostly empty now since most students upgraded to Ra Yellow and Obelisk Blue, so it was just me and the newcomer. And he was pretty chill after the initial shock. Like, he was distant, I’ll give him that, and he DID tend to talk to himself a lot. A while later, he explained he was talking to a Duel Spirit, which was a spirit bound in one of his cards, a cute little critter called Winged Kuriboh!
He was the one who pulled most of the weight on bringing me back. It took a few days, that went by without much weird stuff happening, but eventually, he picked a card called Dimensional Fissure and told me to put my Digivice on the table.
How did he know? Well, I told him about it, silly!
Kinda had to if I expected him not to kick me out. Yeah, he wasn’t very nice initially.
Moving on, he put it and the Digivice on the table and pulled out the Super Fusion card. And I could FEEL that the card was bad news. And it wasn’t just because I heard how it was made or because of how apprehensive Judai-chan looked when he showed it, but also the card itself… it almost smelled like blood! And cardboard doesn’t smell that way, right?
Then when he did it, he told me to get a bit away, just as the card started glowing and the sound of thunder could be heard around the room. The Digivice and the card levitated into the air and… melted together in a black vortex. I was about to ask what was happening but the Digivice soon returned to my hand, as good as new, and Judai-chan told me to flash it towards the door.
Well, nothing happened then, but then Lop-chan had the brilliant idea to do it on a computer instead. So I did it and the portal opened. I was left alone with Judai-chan as I was about to leave, but before I left, I did what I needed to do the most ever since I met him. I gave him a big hug! The guy needed it the most I’ve ever seen in my entire life!
Aaaaaaand that’s it!
…
I’M NOT HIGH, YUKO-CHAAAAN!
