Name: Hajime Rei.
Alias: Rei.
Age: 19.
Gender: Male.
Height: 5’ 10’’ (1.80 m).
Weight: 158 lbs. (72 kg).
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Birth Date: 03/04
Western Horoscope: Pisces.
Birth Place: Nagano, Japan.
Skills/Talents:
-Brave: For the lack of a better word to define it, we could say Rei is brave. The truth is that, maybe from overthinking or reading too many novels, he made a truce with death while being quite young. This means that, other than when he follows his most basic instincts, Rei is not afraid of dying. He will throw himself at danger most of the time without thinking about preserving his own life. Could we call this skill ‘stupid’? Yes. Yes, we could.
-Good cook: Although he would only qualify his own cooking skills as descent, the truth is that living by himself since he was 16 really helped Rei develop some good cooking skills. A man has to survive or something!
Backpack Contents:
Digivice: Regular shaped D-Arc with white base color and purple details. The area around the screen, usually black in most digivices, is of a light orange color.
Personality: Most of Rei's personality can be broke down from his most noticeable trait: the need to chase his personal satisfaction.
Although Rei is not the type to follow rules without questioning their origins, he is also not the type to cause harm for no reason. This simple philosophy allows him to be a functional member of Japanese society. However, not following any particular dogma or having any firm belief in some divine type of repercussion to be held for his actions, he has become the type to chase immediate satisfaction without sticking to any common moral laws. Most of the times, he will set the bar at things that can cause harm to others, but... when the damage is not too big and, most importantly, when he really wants to do it? Not even that will stop him.
Rei’s quest for personal pleasure works perfectly with his very little regard for his own life. Since he was a teenager, he has taken considerable risks that others could be too afraid to take only to gain enjoyment. This daredevil attitude did make him quite popular in school during some time, which helped him develop some decent social skills. He could be considered slightly chattier than the average Japanese male, more often than not using conversation as a way of smoothing most types of interactions.
Laughing? Yes. All of the laughing. Rei has a loud, very-easy-to-trigger laugh and a great sense of humor.
When it comes to Boru, his partner? Complete loyalty and trust. After all, he did save him at the only moment where he cared whether his life ended or not. Rei seems to be quite sure that Boru is the coolest
Appearance: Rei has light brown hair, long enough to be messy but definitely not enough to reach his shoulders. Except when he’s sleeping, a thick bandana has been placed on his hair, covering a good portion of it. Although most of these are black, he can sometimes put one from a lighter color, depending on his mood. A slightly pointy nose, small eyes of a dark brown color and what could be described as a charming smile (even if he does not use that one much) finish the list of facial traits.
When it comes to outfits, Rei will have fun playing with the color of his jackets and undershirts to match them during winter. He usually matches those with some jeans or, very occasionally, cargo pants. If summer is here, he will go for comfort and wear a t-shirt and shorts. The most relevant trait of all of his clothes is him not being afraid of throwing some more out-there colors like red, purple or orange occasionally.
Body language? Rei touches his hair a lot, regardless of the situation. He is not particularly good at lying or hiding things, so he will probably blatantly avoid eye contact and put his hands behind his back if there’s something that he does not want to tell you. This happens a lot when he's nervous around a certain someone.
FaceClaim: TOKYO RAVENS • Touji Ato • Rei Hajime
Personal History: Rei was born in Nagano as the second child of a couple that owns a ramen shop. Only two years after his birth, his little sister came to the world, which made him fit perfectly into the middle-child stereotype, not getting the attention that his younger sister got neither being the first to grasp the accomplishments his older brother achieved. Like everything in life, Rei got used to this situation. It was not like his parents did not take care of him or didn’t show him love. Actually? He considers them both to be excellent progenitors.
When the time came, his brother –who wanted to become a chef- was sent to study in France. His uncle passed away and left his house in Shibuya to his father. Knowing that the ramen cook was not planning to do anything with it, Rei BEGGED him to let him go live there and finish high school in Shibuya. To his surprise? His father accepted. In the end, it seemed like being a decent child and living by the shadow of his two siblings paid up. Rei had never been happier than the day he arrived at the giant metropolis when he was 16 years old.
The adaptation was hard. Then it got easier and easier. Rei finished high school and, against all odds, got accepted to study engineering, of all things, in Shibuya. Was it what he really wanted? Did he know what he really wanted? The answer to both questions is probably no. But that was fine, ultimately. He was used to the life in the big city, and just wanted to stay there. Even if he would probably have to study his life out for this career! Well… if he was admitted, he HAD to have some talent somewhere, didn’t he?
His first semester started. After taking his first exams, Rei walked back home during a rainy afternoon, not knowing that his life was about to change forever.
