[...]Though the time that had passed since their unique, marvelous day of intimate togetherness had indeed been significant, it had felt but like a blink of an eye - a lingering moment of pleasant anticipation and hopes for their second, amicable encounter. The festival of Saint Valentine was a mere, fleeting occasion compared to the sentiment of a lasting, innermost relationship with a truly special someone. Nonetheless, the afterglow of the wonderful hours spent were bound to dwell within their hearts for innumerable years to come. Such was the way of the mind and soul... in this case for the better. And so it was that an entity, one who once believed herself bonded with nothing but solitude, ventured the icy badlands of the North, all in pursuit of the destiny and destination she had chosen... her kindred spirit. Engulfed in the orange radiance of dawn, the visible remnants of Snowflake vanished at the edge of the horizon. A constant, piercing squall whizzed around and past the titanic mountain ranges - seemingly insurmountable ramparts which concealed a yet uncharted infinity. As endless appeared to be the white blanket that covered everything, for marks and taints were quickly remediated. Usually, this cacophonous harmony of natural beauty and desolation was capable of mesmerizing any beholder. This included a small, silver fennec, which blended into the surroundings as if her entire frame was adapted to live in this harsh, merciless environment. It was but the short, green scarf that wavered along her neck which made her stand out. However, today the outside was of little concern to her. Her focus was the only thing that mattered to her, and it was claimed by a nearby, atypically large cabin. She was not a stranger to this location nor this road, but this time she was not here to mend ragged wounds she had neglected in a perpetual state of burning, blind ambition. No... she had relinquished her folly born out of exasperation and shiftlessness. After all, with the emergence of clarity, it had ceased to be necessary for her continuance. She had discovered and embraced what she had actually wanted and needed - a one-of-a-kind individual who returned her affection. She did not understand how and why, and neither did she grapple with these tantalizing questions... as of yet. Among a myriad of trepidant thoughts that haunted her, uncountable regretful mistakes that gnawed at her, and the uncertainty that timelessness begot... Cion knew a radiant gleam that guided her path. And whatever it took, she would pursue it with every ounce of strength and volition she had. A person, who was so much more to her than a person. Hence, she eventually knocked on her door.

"Nyah..."
"The storm's not going to get any better, even if you're staring out the window, Syre."
Out here in the frozen north, foul weather like this was quite common. At times, the 'family cabin' could be a picturesque and gentle abode, but at others it seemed more like a warm, comely shelter, a strong bastion to withstand the endless winter storms. Ordinarily, the BlackGatomon wouldn't have thought much of it, but for a storm to spring up today, of all things? Taking a glance down at her D-Terminal, the cat gave a sigh.
Maybe I should have just offered to head out to Terminus or something instead...
She shook her head. For how well their first outing was, Syre almost dreaded the thought that something like this would come between them! Settling back down into her chair, sinking a bit into the cushion, she idly flipped through the day-old newspaper left on the table. Right, it wasn't even time yet - and if she thought about it rationally, then there was really nothing to be worried about. Cion could probably slice through these storms quite easily, hardly even slowing her down - so why did she find herself so flustered?
Meanwhile, Mikemon found himself back in his office, stepping in with two fresh mugs of cocoa. He'd set one at the other end of the table, before sitting down and resting one in front of himself, giving a small nod to the MeiCrackmon sitting across from him. "Alright: 'Of all forms, doctors are most likely to know the anatomy of Rookie level Digimon, compared to any other level. Why is that?'" He quoted a question from his own textbook, one of which Holly was using for her own class. Whenever Holly settled down to study, the doctor liked to toss these questions in: sometimes, Holly would find herself distracted by the 'what ifs' or the 'how to's', that sometimes she would miss a thing or two on the easier parts of her tests. And, unfortunately, the only way to get better at that was to keep drilling down the basics!
Right after his daughter would give her answer, though, the doctor's ear would give a flick - someone at the front door? "Hm? Right, one minute, Holly." He'd step out to the hall, and would flick the lock open, pushing the door open to that frigid exterior. The doctor gave a blink, seeing the Arniomon just outside.
"... Cion?" It took him a moment to recall her name, but it clicked - right, from the forest incident. "Um, to what do I owe the pleasure?"
"Sheesh, dad..." Syre, stepping in from behind, put a hand on Mikemon's shoulder - shaking her head. "I told you she was coming over, right? Ah, come inside, hun." Super-mega or not, the cold couldn't be that comfortable, and it would be good to dry off and warm up! Mikemon would step aside, giving a nod as the pieces clicked together.
"Ah, right - make yourself at home, Cion. Sorry if the cabin's a little crowded here - things have just decided to be a bit busy here, today!"

Holly’s ears flicked a few times and she stared at her book. The questions that her da asked and the book asking something simular had her leaning back in her seat. She’d scoop up the fresh mug and sip at it; her tail swishing as she mulled this over.
”Because rookie is often more than not the form that most mon’s find the most comfortable and when a fight occurs it’s likely that they retreat to that one. So treatment often occurs in that form more than any other.”
Holly knew that some wounds weren’t of form. Like the one with her ma and she’d tch as she heard that knock on the door. Jeez just when she got into this sort of stuff. She’d tilt her head as she heard the name. Cion… Their name had been on some older missions and activities. A strong individual and definitely someone that her late mother knew. Why was she here of all places? She’d lean so far in her chair that she almost fell out and well… Would quickly stick her head out of the study.
But then she heard one single word. Hun.
Hun.
Her face lit up and the meicrackmon’s smile couldn’t be contained in a normal range. Syre didn’t use language like that just for a friend. This had to be someone special! That or maybe cion was just someone that liked that sort of name? It was hard to tell. But she’d step out of the study; mug in hand [albeit with less cocoa than before].
But that’s when holly’s ears flicked to one side as a rambunctious snoring caught her attention. Silence had passed out on the couch again after a long stint of patrols. The shutmon was bushed and was half wrapped up in her cloak. Holly’s expression grew to that of amusement before she’d tap the top of the wolf’s head.
”Hey silence. We’ve got company.”
”Eh…? Oh… Lemme get up then..”
Silence yawned and shifted in her ‘seat’ stretching in such a way that went and showed off the new uniform she was sporting. It mixed well with her fullplate variety and even was really cozy given the winters around here. She’d hop off of the sofa and stretch further, grunting as she felt her back crack.
”Oof!”
Holly rolled her eyes and turned to address the newcomer. This cion; she had read about various other individuals of similar level but… None of them seemed to have a history stretching back as far as this one. Though there were some that came close but she struggled to remember their names at the moment…
”Hiya there Ms. Cion. My name is holly! I’m syre’s sister and this is-”
”Oh. We’ve uh… met before holly it’s all right.”
Last time they had met silence wasn’t capable of super mega. Last time they met silence hadn’t been in the knights. She hadn’t almost lost against the D-reaper or done all this crazy stuff. But that wasn’t important. Right now the wolf would be striding up to offer a handshake to the diminutive super mega.
”Good seein yah again. Now all we need is one more and this'll be a party! Hah...”

As the door's simple mechanisms shifted, rattled and budged, Cion could immediately feel her bravado concede defeat. Behind the faintly shivery poise and grace, there was a core beating with the rate and intensity of a modern car engine. In spite of what she had vowed to herself, she was unable to suppress her flurry, which seemed to ironically align with the current weather and blanket of snow covering the floor. But why was it that she was so anxious? Well... because for the first time in years, she had something tangible to reach out for, and she certainly did not wish to loose her hold on it.
Taking in a deep, icy breath, her aureate eyes widened slightly upon beholding the figure which was the erudite doctor otherwise known as Mikemon. Their paths had occasionally crossed, and mostly to benefit commonweal by opposing fiends. She held him in high esteem, irrespective of what had come before. She too has made mistakes - even grave and recent ones. Hence his support and amity were important to her. Nonetheless, it was somewhat amusing to realize how small the digital world was. That her dearly beloved had parental figures she was already acquainted with... merrily quirky.
"Well, I..." The silver fennec attempted to answer kindly by mustering her courage. However, she was interrupted by the candid resonance of a most charming belle. Almost instantaneously, she felt a titanic weight fall off from her - not unlike a tight chain around her heart that had been burst. The word 'hun' voiced by the BlackGatomon was an unfathomable balm for her soul, and it was responded with the warmest smile anyone was capable of granting.
"Ääähm... sure, thank you." She stated her appreciation to both digimons as she stepped inside the vaguely familiar, cozy cottage. Naturally, as it was becoming to a well-mannered lady, she utilized the means at her disposal to dry her fur. The last thing she wanted to cause were water damages. So far so good. All she had to do now was to present her best sides and act accordingly. She did not know what her darling had told her family, so she was understandably prudent. "No reason to apologize. The more the merrier, right?" She commented serenely, hoping her chumminess was appreciated.
Suddenly, the unassuming fox's ears peaked as they perceived a voice that was foreign to them. Turning to face the Meicrackmon, she at once remembered what Syre had shared with her during their special day. She had a sister. "Pleased to meet you, Ms. Holly." She greeted in kind, quickly delighted by the warm welcome she received from everyone. This included the final member of this mammalian kin, which was of course a chivalrous paladin she was quite acquainted with. "It's likewise splendid seeing you again, Silence. It's been a while." She replied genially while shaking her paw, glad to see that the lupiform knight, regardless of the name she carried, had done well for herself.
What a cornucopia Cion had found herself in. Everybody was so convivial and cordial. Anew, it appeared as if her worries had only hampered her path. She needed to learn how to relinquish them, but not today. Unsure what to do, she did as it was natural to her. Assuming an adequate stance, arms leaning against her side, she performed a deep, lasting bow to the quartet. "Sincere thanks for your hospitality."

"Good." Mikemon gave a smile as Holly gave that answer - more-or-less as it was in the textbook - and he'd return a nod to her. "I know its not your cup of tea, but the tests are more-or-less going to be based around this book for now. You need to get through the fundamentals before you'll be allowed to get to practical practice... so just keep your nose to the grindstone for now, alright?"
A few moments later, though, he'd excuse himself to answer the door. Honestly, Mikemon didn't know that the house was going to be this crowded, today! But with Holly coming over to study, and Silence just happening to be on break during the time, the house definitely felt like a cornucopia! As Cion would step in, Syre would pass Cion a towel, the fennec able to pat down her fur as she ran her feet across a floor-mat. It was common in Snowpoint for guests with thick coats of fur to need to dry off - and with four such Digimon living here, this was about the only way they could keep from tracking water everywhere!
Hearing that idle 'crack' in the background, Mikemon looked over his shoulder as Silence stumbled on over. "Ah, 'morning', Silence. Coffee should still be fresh in the kitchen, if you need it." He'd step off to the side, not wanting to crowd their guest more than necessary - but a crowd is what they were left with, regardless! Holly introduced herself, as did Silence - and right after, Mikemon would return a small nod to the fennec's bow. "Of course. Just let us know if you need anything." And honestly, this might be a good chance to get to know about Cion, especially if she was going to be part of the family!
Syre would find herself taking the towel back from the fox, loosely holding it before tossing it in the hamper with the rest. "I hope it wasn't too bad getting up here? I'd have warned about the weather, but its pretty hard for us to know how its going to turn, either..." She gave a small, somewhat nervous chuckle at that, as she'd lead on to the living area. Here, they'd be able to sit down and warm up a bit!
"More than that, how have you been?" It had only been about a week since their date, so Syre hadn't been expecting too much news, but she was still curious! "Can't say its been too exciting for me. Between the patrol work and shopping around Terminus for a place... well, that takes up quite a bit of time... heh..."
Well, now that she had to potentially find a bigger place? That might take just a bit longer!

Holly let out a small chuckle and glanced at silence, she didn’t know that they knew one another. When had that happened? Or was the digital world just in some way mixing people together on it’s own? Regardless the meicrackmon grinned goofily when refered to as Ms. of all things. She’d give a small dismissive wave to the other; that grin spreading slightly as she responded.
”No need to call me Miss of all things. Just Holly will be fine!”
”Mm… Coffee? Nah. I’ll be alright. Thanks though Mikemon~”
Apart from the chittering laughter that followed that; silence herself gave the diminutive super mega a firm handshake. Well… As firm of a handshake an ultimate could give someone who was going around in super mega all the time! Didn’t that get tiring? She had always wanted to ask that but… Someone else beat her to the punch before she could even open her mouth.
”So based off of your signal you’re super mega right now right? How do you keep it up all the time? Don’t you get tired? Or is there a super charge effect to your core that allows it to rotate at maximum speed without tiring? Some sort of partial data influx-”
Silence coughed softly and holly clamped her mouth shut with probably the amusing click possible. They were there to chit chat… not follow scientific focus or experiment on the poor fennec.
”Maybe later we can talk about that stuff holly… Don’t want to get too into that or we’ll be here all week. But yeah Cion, good to see yah again.”
Silence chuckled a bit and holly gave Cion a small smile. Though honestly the meicrackmon’s mind was still firing at maximum capacity given how she seemed to lean this way or that. Taking in cion’s appearance and well… Scientific minds wouldn’t be quelled so easily! Silence let out a small yawn and shifted to go do what she had said no to earlier…
”Mmm.. Maybe coffee is needed…”
””Terminus huh? Finding a big place there would be difficult unless you’re gonna shop in the upper district. Bit pricey though.”
”Try absolutely destructive! I’ve seen those prices...”
Silence called out from the kitchen; though she was quickly reduced to mumbling and clattering for wherever her mug actually went… Holly seemed a bit more focused on the fennec than the wolf in the kitchen though!
”So how did you two lovebirds meet?”

Visibly grateful for the doctor's hospitality, Cion straightened up again and assumed a relaxed stance. Nonetheless nodding with understanding, she made a mental note as to not accidentally overstay her welcome and become a burden to this family by voicing too many requests. It was unlikely this event would occur, given the grace the mannered lady carried herself with, but a reminder of common decency never hurt. Hence, though her focus certainly was the onyx feline, she attempted to grant everyone who addressed her the time and amicability they deserved.
Post a firm handshake on cordial terms with Silence, her position shifted as to face the charmingly inquisitive MeiCrackmon. "Very well, Holly." She stated kindly, evidently happily to oblige the implicit request of relinquishing some of her primness. The silver fennec had only meant well, but she did not mind a candid dialogue, so it was no problem to her. After all, it was, among other aspects, her darling's candor which had managed to enchant the unassuming fox. Speaking of modesties, it appeared that the Beast Woman had found an interest in her. Delighted to answer any questions that were posed, she nevertheless agreed with her hosts to continue with simple banter and proper introductions before tackling more serious topics.
Calmly following Syre inside the living room and sitting down right next to her, the vulpine ascendant began to display a perpetual, content smile. The open arms which had welcomed her, the pleasant scent of hot cocoa, the warmth of this cozy home... her trepidant thoughts had almost prevented her from savoring this marvelous atmosphere, and of course the people it contained. One day, she had to meet up with the young gentleman and express her eternal gratitude to him. However, today was destined to be theirs alone.
And as their first encounter, it had started because of a rather silly reason. Chuckling softly, not blush marked her muzzle as she gladly satisfied the curiosity of her partner's sister. If the others already knew about their relationship, then why not be as wholehearted as possible? "The holiday of Saint Valentine was when we met - a serendipity for pairs were selected at random. We simply enjoyed our day, dining and frolicking together in Whitewater. Over time... the pieces just fell into place, you see?" She explained chummily, not wishing to make a big fuss about it as to avoid abashing the BlackGatomon. In truth, their togetherness had meant everything to Cion.
Sighing dreamily, her aureate eyes shifted to Syre. Gently, she shook her head. "Don't worry. Getting here was easy-peasy for me." She responded teasingly, knowing that the playful cat was always willing to enjoy a bit of coltish hubris and shade. Not every person had the steadfastness to do so, but she appreciated the company of those who did - and those who cared for those they had bonded with. "I'm fine, thank you. My week was uneventful, excluding the pleasant anticipation for today. May I assume the same for you, darling?"
Not expecting anything of major significance to have occurred, the fennec's ears peaked upon perceiving a quite intriguing topic. She remembered her dear's intention to relocate. "I still don't understand why you pick Terminus of all places. Why not Whitewater if you do not like tranquil villages like Rosewood? I mean even the upper districts cannot embellish the fact that the capital has innumerable problems. ... ... Or... wait, is that the point? Patrolling the city as a knight?"

Ah, meeting the family so early on... perhaps this is why Syre found herself so tense, today?
The BlackGatomon asked that question to herself, of course! As much as she loved all of them, Syre had to admit that Holly could be a bit forward and overbearing, Mikemon tended to be 'on the nose', and Silence was the type to say whatever came to her head. It brought the cat to the point where she was equally eager and hesitant for Cion to meet them - silly as it might have sounded!
Its just nerves... take a breath, already. Putting a smile on her face, her ear would flick at the MeiCrackmon's sudden barrage of questions, and she'd return a chuckle to her sister: "You mean, a week before Holly would even run out of questions, right?" She gave a jest, from the older sister to the youngest, keeping the mood nice and light.
And as Silence stumbled, Mikemon found himself giving a small sigh. "Make it two, I could use one - oh, Cion, you want anything? Coffee, hot chocolate?" It would be easy enough for Silence to grab something while she was in the other room, of course!
With Cion right next to her, Syre briefly brought an arm around the fennec's shoulder, giving her a small, one-armed squeeze of a hug, before the cat would rest her hands on her legs. Holly's question came first, and Cion was quick to pick up on it. "Mm, we started to click right off from the start. Not what I expected from it all, but I certainly can't complain. Dad, wasn't that how you met mom?"
"Mm... not how we met. I actually asked her out once before that and she turned me down the first time..." Mikemon scratched his head. He looked on as Syre and Cion seemed to just get along naturally, Syre returning that simple question: "I'd say normal enough for me, too. Had my normal patrol routes with the Knights, and, well, looking through Terminus always takes a bit."
And, indeed, Terminus was quite pricey! "Well, sure, if you're trying to buy out a full floor of a highrise or something in the suburbs, you'll need a deep pocket... but there's still options around my range. Though it is a question of how much I - and, maybe we - would be willing to settle." The 'maybe', of course, came from the fact that Cion didn't have the best opinion of city living, herself.
Though at Cion's question, Syre shook her head: "Nothing as 'noble' as that. Honestly, I find the city a more relaxing place to be. 'Something' to do is always within reach, and it can be a bit packed or crowded, but that's what I'm used to. Whitewater wouldn't be a bad place to look, either, though."
"Honestly, good luck with that. Even being able to smell the beach is a positive for some." Mikemon gave a smile at that. "Anyway, hope you two don't mind me being a 'dad' for a bit here. I mean, clearly you two have hit it off well, so I'm just curious. Cion, what do you think drew you to her?"
"Oh, my..." Yup, being a 'dad' indeed. That blush was visible straight through Syre's black-furred cheeks!

Holly looked between syre and cion; trying to imagine what that first interaction was like. Thankfully they were quick to talk about how they met and the little bit of information that was given managed to give a goofy smile on the meicrackmon’s face. She’d lean to rub at the top of her sister’s head in a rather affectionate manner.
”Seems luck runs in our family huh? But yeah I’d have a lot of questions for you! More than a week if you gave me time eheheh...”
The meicrackmon chuckled and went to the couch, taking a seat on the arm of it. She was rather pleased with this entire situation and given the fact that cion was being so chatty well… Her tail flicked and she’d muse over something. What else she could ask or talk about?
”Two? Two. All right.”
Silence mumbled a bit and went to making the coffee. Her ears flicked a bit and she’d pause as syre asked that question. So K and mikemon had met at a v-day event huh? She’d close her eyes and sighed to herself. Crossing her arms while the coffee started to brew. She had put the grounds in, turned on the water… and now all they could do was wait for it to brew. She’d curl her tail around and glance back out of the room; her face seeming oddly… well. Oddly pensive for a second but she’d hide that with a small smile.
”Well relaxing is good and if you have a synergy with a place why not capitalize on it?”
Silence’s ears flicked a bit as she heard the answers syre and cion gave. Biting at her cheek as mikemon continued on. What drew cion to syre? That was actually a pretty good question but… She’d shake her head and mumble under her breath.
”Don’t you think that’s a bit… sudden mikemon?”
”I’m more curious if they had to deal with the terrible sugar cake you told me about da more than who drew what to who. Isn’t it obvious? Some people hit it off and their love is more certain than others. Just kinda how it works~”
Wait where was that experience even coming from? Holly’s throat was rumbling with a purr and she seemed awfully happy for her bigger sister!
”Ain’t that right Cion?”

"A hot chocolate sounds splendid." She gladly expressed her appreciation with candid glee in her young voice. Following this kind offer, innumerable pleasantries and small stories were exchanged. Cion's darling had done well for herself, and she confirmed that their initial encounter had been a coincidence, but the pieces had indeed simply fallen into their proper places. For her parents, their bond had taken more effort and time to blossom, but evidently this was not to anyone's detriment.
And though the reason to move homes was not noble as she would have guessed, it nonetheless intrigued the silver fennec greatly. "I see..." She briefly whispered to herself before scratching her chin for a moment. Visibly claiming a second or two to sort her thoughts, she ultimately nodded and decided to assist the onyx feline - after all, she liked the sound of the 'we' part. "Choose whatever locations you fancy and we'll visit them together. Don't worry. As an ex-member of the regrettably disbanded PROFIT, I know how to get you, or us, a most delightful leasing contract with favorable conditions." She confidently assured her comely partner that everything was fine if she was willing to trust her.
"Besides... I'm quite well-off myself." The unassuming fox added with a slightly teasing chuckle. Naturally, as someone without an actual homestead under her name, she had a vast amount of currency at her disposal which she had saved over years of mercenary work. As dangerous as it was, opposing cataclysmic threats was rewarded stupendously. However, she seldom had an incentive to spend her coin. What better opportunity and purpose was there for it than to serve their relationship? Perhaps this act and idea were too overzealous, but honestly she did not care. In the end, leasing something was practically risk-free.
Nevertheless, it was likely not an appropriate subject for this wonderful day of togetherness and deepening connections. Shifting her gaze to Holly who sat on the couch's edge, the vulpine ascendant showed her nothing less than her undivided attention and sincere kindness. Patently, she was very happy to answer any questions that were voiced. "Right!" She cheerfully verified the jolly Meicrackmon's deduction. Nevertheless... a notion manifested itself within her mind. Maybe this was the ideal occasion to finally put her sentiments into tangible words.
Slowly yet steadily, her petite muzzle swayed to look at the highly esteemed doctor, then the cherished, unyielding paladin - and eventually, her aureate eyes paused and lingered to behold the BlackGatomon's gracile frame and amber gleams. The smile on Cion's lips was rapt but faint; almost dreamy in nature, but undoubtedly genuine. Her response to Mikemon's question came without hesitation and blush, and bereft of uncertainty. "Truth be told... answering the opposite would be easier and quicker - but in the short time I got acquainted with Syre, I realized that her outer beauty matches her inner.
Behind every jest and quip, there is an ear and heart of genuineness. There is refreshing candor in the way she carries herself, which does not overshadow her geniality. She always grants a helping hand, and is not too proud to receive help if she needs it. She stands her ground, but does not reject intellectual honesty - an all too rare quality these days. Hence, although we do not agree on everything, we can understand the other's point of view, accept it and move on. She is coltish yet sincere, steadfast yet adaptable, mighty yet so gentle..."
She took in a deep breath, hoping that everyone in the room, and her dear in particular, grasped the way she regarded her. It certainly seemed as if she could have continued her compliments, but she did not wish to overstate her frankness. However, there was a single, important exception to this. Clearing her throat, she attentively scanned her environment so everybody would realize that she addressed them. "But, what drew me to Syre, above all else... is that she cares deeply for those who care for her. I can see this clearly - right here and now - with you, her family."

Two coffees and a hot chocolate. Mikemon gave a small nod at that, keeping his eyes on Syre, Cion, and Holly.
Of all things, the doctor definitely didn't expect to see Cion like this. Maybe she would have been a patient looking for a check-up after a fight, maybe he would have teamed up with the fox to stand against one of the Demon Lords - heck, he wouldn't have been surprised to just bump into her in town. But there was just something so surreal about seeing the fox here, bantering with Syre and Holly about potential places to settle down.
"Heh... were it so easy, Holly..." Syre gave a bit of a chuckle at that, but her ear flicked at Cion's offer. As she mentioned being part of profit, the feline's ear gave a bit of a flick, slight confusion on her expression. "Um... PROFIT?"
Mikemon was quick enough to pick up on it: "The team was a bit short-lived, but to put it in a few words, PROFIT was a group of... 'mercenaries', I think is a good way to put it... who used their renown to put themselves on the top of the list for higher-paid mission work." As for why it disbanded, the doctor really didn't know, nor was that really the point here.
If Cion was willing to help, after all, Syre wasn't going to turn her down! "Heh! I'll put together a list of good openings I find... and make sure they're big enough for at least two or three." That would be an adventure of its own, between comparing price, location, and the available amenities offered with the lease. For now, the thought would slip to the back of her mind, as the 'dad' question controlled the tone of the room.
Was it sudden like Silence thought it was, or was it just 'fate' like Holly seemed to think? Mikemon grinned, and gave a shrug. "The question is no more sudden then how quick these two fell for each-other. I just want to know what we're working with here."
Syre gave a sigh, a small smile given as she relented there. Indeed, on the surface, it might have been a bit strange that they hit it off so well after so little time. As Cion's gaze slipped over to Syre's, though, the BlackGatomon's tensity seemed to fade, the feline smiling as the two met eye to eye. And when the fennec gave her answer...
... Well, it was clearly far more than just a surface level attraction. The Arniomon was just as eye-catching to Syre as the BlackGatomon was to Cion, but Cion's compliments went far deeper than that, down to Syre's true character. Once the two had gotten comfortable talking to each-other, it wasn't hard for them to pick away at the layers, and even hit at a few sensitive points.
And that last remark was definitely something core to Syre. Hearing that, she gave a smile, and brought an arm right around Cion's back. Of course that was how Syre felt: she was raised with the Digital Field Club with a number of interesting personalities - and even her relationship with her direct family came from a personal place. She was blessed to have so many supporting her - and Cion could easily be one more in that group.
"... Guess its only fair if I return that, right?" The cat gave a smile. "Though really, I can't say that I have Cion's way with words about all this. She's just as candid as I am, and isn't afraid to speak her mind," for better or for worse, "but it's more than that. She's a patient, fun-loving Digimon who wants to see the best out of everyone, even if she hasn't seen the best of it herself. When Cion's heart has a chance to shine, it really shines."
And that, honestly, was enough to make Cion quite the endearing figure to her. She'd even lean in, and give a small peck at Cion's cheek - as Mikemon gave a nod at that. The two knew each-other so well, after such a short time... it honestly made him reflect about his current position with Silence. There was a spark, a connection there, yes - but how much did the doctor really know about the Shutmon? Or the other way around?
"Heh..." After that moment of self introspection, Mikemon gave a nod. "If its like that, then I'm not going to complain. Just make sure you're not rushing this too much, alright, Syre?"
"... Sure, dad." She gave a small nod at that, as the doctor turned his attention towards Cion. "I'm glad Syre found someone who can see her for herself. But, um, don't feel too surprised if I want to keep an eye on you around here. Just a dad looking out for his daughter."

Silence flicked her ears at hearing what cion wanted and was quick to get another cup set up; with the powder and everything in it. She was quick to get a kettle going and crossed her arms, leaning back against the table to watch everything process. Honestly she didn’t have much information on this PROFIT and didn’t really know what to add to the conversation. She was… uncertain for the moment. Holly meanwhile tilted her head, looking curious but was all right with letting the others speak.
It was cute to see the two interact and she couldn’t help but chuckle as both her sister and their girlfriend said what they liked about one another. She’d waggle a finger with a big goofy grin on her face.
”I swear you two are all mushy! But that’s adorable~”
There was a small giggle and the meicrackmon flicked her ears forward as her da explained what profit was. Interesting to say the least and all silence could do in the kitchen was frown. Was this the sort of thing she should know about? She wasn’t too sure. She’d consider what she wanted to do with the knights. It was a question she still didn’t know the answer to. She’d close her eyes and exhale slowly.
The coffee and coco were made rather quickly and she’d step out of the kitchen with the mugs for mikemon and hot chocolate. Quickly passing them off to their respective requesters. She’d go back into the kitchen to grab her own and then just lean against a wall just outside of the entry so she could sip at her coffee while listening in.
So much was said about both of them that the shutmon was at least glad they found comfort and loved one another to pieces. She could tell that they meant every word and she caught herself smiling softly. But then the things that mikemon said made her stiffen… Don’t rush? Or don’t be surprised about him keeping an eye on them. She’d cast her glance away and exhale softly.
”Mushy indeed…”
She didn’t really have much to add. Maybe she wasn’t as much of a lovey dovey type as she thought or maybe something was bothering her? She was still glad for the other two but she couldn’t help but excuse herself to go outside. Something about getting a little warm…
”Well if he gets to ask so many questions I gotta ask! When’s the next date gonna be? Cause I have a suggestion of where you guys could go!”

Following a brief moment of contemplation, Cion nodded in response to the esteemed doctor's concise description. Mercenaries was among the most appropriate labels to describe the former members of the disbanded organization PROFIT. From her point of view, neither her nor the others were selfish people though. They had simply recognized the benefit of possessing influence through power and coin. It was a shame that the leadership had enough eventually, but so was life - a perpetual struggle of change. Besides, one year she had spend with them was of great use to her to this very day, hence she was grateful for it.
Moreover, it was not like her adventuring days had ceased to be. Was it opposing malign fiends, or merely going apartment-hunting, there was always something that needed to be done. Therefor, she was glad that she no longer had to pursue these activities on her own. Togetherness, no matter the shape it came in, was often preferred by her. Although certainly able to stand her ground, she nonetheless welcomed and appreciated the company of those she cared for. Her darling and her family definitely were individuals who fell under this category.
Openly embracing the playful comment of Holly, the silver fennec briefly grinned with pride. The beaming joy on her muzzle lingered as she received the offered cup of hot cocoa. "Many thanks." She expressed her gratitude sincerely, as it was becoming to a lady who enjoyed carrying herself with grace and fine mannerisms - even if she was mushy at times. And as mentioned before, the unassuming fox had no reservations with sharing what she genuinely felt for the comely, affectionate felidae. The more honest and direct she was with her, her siblings and her parents, the better.
Fortunately, the reactions she was granted for her candor were both endearing and relieving. Feeling Syre's soft yet firm touch, she faintly leaned into her to savor her warm, cuddly presence. Being cared for was such a wonderful sensation - she had almost forgotten it. And the words her partner utilized to explicate her feelings... marvelous - and they were true. She wanted to be a shining beacon for those who desired or required a helping hand. Admittedly, her loss had caused her heart to stagger frequently, but it had never fully yielded to odium or exasperation. She was not completely sure what aspect of her had permitted her to prevail, but she was eternally beholden to it. Now, she could improve herself again - incrementally with every passing experience.
The onyx cat's cheeky peck made her squeal with glee. Evidently, there was but contentedness with their relationship, wherefore there was no reason to blush. Instead, she proudly relished her bliss. Nevertheless, Mikemon was not wrong. Patience was among the greatest of virtues. There was no need for them ro rush, and of course she understood that a father was protective of her daughter. Perish the thought if he was not! "We have all the time in the digital world. And of course I won't be surprised. Naturally, in return I will do everything to present my best sides."
Nodding firmly yet kindly, her aureate eyes ultimately shifted to the lupiform paladin who left their serenity. Weakly biting her lower lip, her focused constantly swayed between her and the Meicrackmon. And as much as she wished to remain in Syre's arms, it seemed as if a cherished friend was needing assistance. "Well, to be fair, today kind of is our second date. But sure, I'm open to suggestions. However... I think someone should check up on Silence first. Should I perhaps...?"

'Mushy'? At her sister's compliment, Syre found herself giving a blush, her ears flattening slightly at the thought. "Well... I gotta be the adorable one occasionally, don't I, sis?" She'd tease right back. Syre might have called that a jest, but there was some truth to it: Holly was usually the one to 'clean up' better.
Between her missions, her practice with the Knights, and her practice both at the range and with her shooting, it was about as common to see Syre 'well-kept' as it was to see her somewhat disheveled, perhaps with the slight scent of gunpowder in her fur. Not now, of course - she made sure that she was nice and presentable for the occasion. And hearing Cion's giggle at the kiss, Syre shared her own, teasingly bringing up her cheek to nuzzle against the fox's before she'd finally pull away.
The two got along quite well... but not everyone here seemed content.
As Silence excused herself - out into the storm, no less - it would come as no surprise that both Syre and Mikemon would find themselves looking on as the Shutmon made her way out. The BlackGatomon found her ear flicking at Cion's offer, but the doctor was quick to shake his head. Setting his half-empty coffee off to the side, he'd stand up and collect his own cloak. "Thank you for the offer, Cion, but I'll make sure she's alright. Don't worry about it too much - she's still adjusting to joining a new team, and its thrown her schedule a bit off."
He'd nod, and excuse himself as he made his way out the front door. In the momentary quiet that followed, Syre gave a small sigh outwards. "... Not going to lie, it has been a bit like this lately. I'd say ever since she moved back in, maybe after Holly and I said we were going to be moving out." Empty nest, or something?
"... But for now its probably better to keep it between them." She'd give a small shrug after another moment of thinking, before getting back to the conversation at hand. "Aye - I mentioned something about wanting to cook, and that built up to her coming here for the second date. So, you're lucky to be around the house today of all things, Holly." The older-yet-shorter cat gave a small, hearty laugh! "But, what did you have in mind?" Out in that snowy squall, Mikemon found himself half-covering his face, giving a small 'tsk' as he felt that cold wind against his nose. It was definitely too much of a storm to be out here for long: he'd step out, keeping his eyes down to follow the heavy, packed footsteps of the Shutmon... until he'd finally catch up to her, to Silence.
Who, without her armor and her own cloak, might have just blended in with the landscape. For just a moment, the storm would die down... and once he'd catch up?
"Hey." The tone was a bit flat, but he managed a smile through that biting cold, a slight curl at the edge of his lips. "... You alright, hun? You... want to hit up the town, or something?"

Holly couldn’t help but chuckle as the two interacted, they were adorable and honestly she felt like they all could really use some time to themselves. She was glad to recieve her own drink and silence would give the fennec a small wave of the hand as if saying don’t mention it. Holly rubbed at her chin as cion said that this was like their second date; was meeting their family really called this? A date of all things? She didn’t know if that would be much of a date…
”Oh there’s this lovely little bistro out in the Dark area; I ate there a few times while doing studies. Oh uh… Oh.”
Holly blinked as she noted that silence wasn’t even here now; what was wrong? She’d furrow her brows a bit and flick her ears forward. What on earth had happened? Was she upset about something or maybe the mon just needed some space after waking up? She had been rather tired and what not.
”Well! Lets just say it was unexpected syre~! But I’m still happy for the two of you.”
At her da’s explanation the meicrackmon nodded her head. It made sense, heck everytime someone joined or left a team there was always that little bit right? She really hoped that was the case as she wasn’t sure what else it could be!
”Oh! Cooking! Well! Jeez yeah we should do that! I think it’d be fun for everyone involved!”
Holly brightened up and then blinked a few times as she asked what the other cat had in mind. She liked the idea of a cook date so maybe the bistro could be the third date for them? It was hard to really suggest anything to her sister she felt. At least when this was involved.
”Well as I said, the bistro I went to was really good. It had a lot of tasty things and the mon behind the counter is really gentle even if he’s scary at first. Some kind of weregarurumon variant I think. He’s taller than I am!”
She’d laugh a bit and give a small shake of her head…
Cup of coffee in the middle of a storm? Definitely something that most people wouldn’t consider. But silence had taken enough steps out to the fencing of their property. Staring out at the town as the storm ripped around her. It was cold and she didn’t mind. Her heavy fur made this less of a problem and considering she was wearing a part of her knight uniform…
Her ears flicked back as she heard the steps of the cat. She’d sigh and turn her head as she heard that flat voice.
”I don’t know if that will help Mikemon. I’m… I don’t think I’m all right. But I’m not really good with this sort of shit.”
She’d turn and lean on the fence, staring out at the town. She’d sip at the coffee and make a face; it was a bit bitter so she’d pull out a small flask and dump some of it’s contents in. Taking another drink of the coffee she’d nod to herself. Was it whiskey? Rum? Something else entirely? Well the smell definitely made it seem like she was mixing some kind of alcohol into it…
”We never had a date together. We just sort of… decided to be together. We had eggs together but I can’t help but shake the feeling that… Well. We rushed.”
She’d take a deep drink of her coffee and sigh softly. Glancing back at the house. It was a strange location to her for the moment. She’d bite her lip and look forward again; she seemed a bit concerned. If not more worried than she usually was.
”I’m worried for our kids. More the fact I’m young so I don’t have a clue how to do motherly stuff. Seeing syre with cion made me feel really detatched and I just needed to step out of there before I said something stupid.”
