A HONEY TRAP ENCOUNTER [PRIVATE: FAUSTEIN, MANDRAKE] (DONE)

Mandrake heard the angry buzzing as Fanbeemon and a Waspmon came flying out and surrounded him. This was not good. If he used an illusion to disrupt them his odds of escape weren't good unless he tried to talk himself out of the mess he found himself in.
Though worried he put on a mask of calm as he said "I mean neither you or anyone in your hive any trouble. I was simply checking the severity of your comrades injuries. I'm only near this area in the first place because I was merely passing through here." All he said was true but judging by how angry the bee digimon were he would have to wait to find out their reaction to his words. Mandrake was getting a feeling he may not like the upcoming response so he was hoping these digimon were willing to be reasonable because a fight would hardly go in his favor.

Of course, given the currently agitated state the Beemon and the Waspmon were in currently, they were not going to listen to the Impmon's explanations and rationale. Instead they exclaimed even more angrily and surrounded him still closer
"LIES!! YOU'RE WITH THAT INTRUDER IN OUR HIVE!! ENOUGH TALK!! YOU'RE COMING WITH US, INTRUDER!!"
With that, the time for talk was apparently over as they swarmed all around him for a few moments and divebombed at him in an effort to subdue him and take him into custody. Meanwhile, inside the Hive, Faustein was now lying in the dungeon where he had been locked up with his backpack lying outside the cell
Well well, these pathetic insects have at least that much intellect to separate me from my digimon and my backpack...I have to give them credit for that much...but seriously, they are NOT thorough with their checkup...how laughable
He mused silently, smirking at the thought as he made plans for his eventual prison break with the help of his two digimon who were in the cell right next to his own.

Seemed like diplomacy was not going to work and his survival odds were low considering he was surrounded and they were moving closer to him. Two of the Fanbeemon grabbed him by the wrists and Mandrake struggled in an effort to free himself but it proved to be no use. Since they wouldn't listen to him no matter what he said he just hung from their tight grip.
As he was carried into the hive he assumed the injured Fanbeemon were being tended to by the others. Except the Waspmon, who was flying not far behind the Fanbeemon carrying him. It was not long before he was being carried into what appeared to be the dungeon. Soon a cell door was heard opening and he was hurled inside by the Fanbeemon that were holding him with the cell door slamming shut and locking behind him.
Mandrake pushed himself to his feet and began to brush the dust off him before he sensed he wasn't alone in the cell and it was a mind he felt before. Turning toward the presence he saw a human with gravity defying white hair and, curiously enough, red eyes. An unusual color for a human but then again Mandrake knew blue eyes were unusual for an Impmon so he supposed it didn't matter.
Deciding to do more than stare, Mandrake said "I tried to warn you away from the hive but you just wouldn't listen. You should consider yourself lucky they only locked you up instead of killing you."

Faustein had watched quietly as the Beemon and their leader which was still unknown to him seemed to bring in another prisoner. That was primarily because at the time the Waspmon had actually introduced itself, he had nothing but honey on the brain, so his usually receptive brain did not register that name in its cerebral database. His new cellmate looked as though it were a kid in an imp cosplay, which made him smirk slightly. The little imp like creature had stared for a few seconds at his gravity defying whitish-green hair and his red eyes before chastising him and mentioning that he was lucky to have been simply locked up and not actually given a death sentence. So, naturally, Faustein asked the obvious question
"Oh? I am lucky, am I? Then, am I correct in surmising that these Beemon and whatever that huge other digimon was are quite bloodthirsty creatures? More so than other digimon that is?"
Then, he looked the creature over up and down before remarking with a cheeky smirk on his thin lips and a head tilt, the angle causing the dim light to accentuate the sleep deprivation induced bags under his eyes as well as the sparse growth of stubble on his chin and jaw
"Incidentally, I did not know that Halloween season is upon us already...did it come early this year perchance?"
Then, he fell silent to see whether his new cellmate would be intelligent enough to catch on to his reference and realize the meaning of his words.

That bluntly obvious comment made Mandrake want to roll his eyes but instead he replied in a calm voice which effectively hid his annoyance "Obviously not all bee digimon are bloodthirsty monsters. I've heard of some that even drag invaders out of their hive and dump them in the nearest town."
At the statement about Halloween, Mandrake gained a puzzled look before he said "Hallo-what? Must be something involving humans since I've never heard of it." Then with a smirk he said "If that's some insult about my appearance I'd say that you're one to talk. You look like you haven't groomed or slept in quiet a while. Now why did you ignore my warning? Surely where your partners would know about digimon that can communicate telepathically." Mandrake look around the cell and then back at his human cellmate before he said "Which it appears they aren't sharing this cell with you."

"Oh? Well, that's rather generous of them and reassuring to hear for me. It looks like there is hope to be had after all."
Faustein smirked as he replied and then listened as the imp which was his new cellmate recognize his reference and then throw it right back at him with an equally cheeky remark. So, he laughed in response, but then grew serious again once the imp had started to chastise him about not listening to its warning
"Touché. Wait, so the voice I have been hearing in my head...was you all along? Telepathy? So then, certain denizens of the Digital World are actually capable of thought projection, then?"
He asked quizzically with a raised eyebrow and a slight tilt of his head, as he was truly surprised by this revelation. He looked towards the cell right next to his own and gestured to his two partners, Taser the Kokuwamon and Lego the ShadowToyAgumon, which were patiently awaiting his instructions
"Well, they are right there, see? When the time is right, they shall assist us in breaking out of here and escaping this "Royal Hive" structure."

"Yes some digimon are quite proficient at projecting their thoughts even though my species isn't always known for telepathy. Then again I don't think my adopted caretaker was a species known for telepathy either." Mandrake said as he glanced at the adjacent cell where a Kokuwamon and ShadowToyAgumon were imprisoned. It seemed these bee digimon were at least smart enough to separate a human from their partner digimon but was the digivice taken from the human as well? If it was it would make some forms of digivolution difficult or even impossible. While Mandrake didn't have those limitations, becoming higher levels tended to be harder for lone digimon such as himself.
Glancing back at the human he crossed his arms and said "So what is your so called brilliant plan for escape. Judging by these bars they can contain most rookie and weaker champion stage digimon." True Mandrake knew how they could escape but he was curious on what the human had in mind.

Faustein listened and nodded pensively as he let his mind register all the information being given to him by the little imp digimon and after it was done explaining, it had asked him what was his plan for escape. So, he mulled the issue over silently for a few moments and then replied
"I do not usually tend to employ such nebulous measures, but in this situation, time is of the essence as is stealth. Therefore, since you have indicated that you are special among your species since you possess powers such as telepathy...I figure the most expedient option would be for you to handle opening the lock."
He paused there and with a head tilt, he asked quizzically
"That is, presuming you actually specialize in any powers related to telepathy...though, admittedly, I have never actually heard of anyone or anything possessing multiple schools in this area of expertise. So, what say you?"
He trailed off and then waited to see what would happen next and in the meantime, he activated his walkie talkie feature which had been installed in Taser and Lego so that they could communicate easily if the situation demanded it.

Figures the human, though seemingly intelligent, had no means of getting out. Not without making a racket at least so it appeared to be up to Mandrake. "I do have a method for getting us out of this and it would not draw any attention. Observe." It was time for another of Mandrake's talents to shine though he mostly used it to lift things. The blue eyed Impmon turned toward the cell door, closed his eyes, and put a finger on each of his temples. This would take precise focus and concentration.
Quietly the lock seemed to begin to turn and come undone first with the cell occupied by Mandrake and his human cellmate then the one next to them. Mandrake went to the door to the cell and slowly pushed it open. "As you can see telepathy is but one of my talents. I also have access to telekinesis as well."

Faustein watched as the little imp digimon went to work unlocking the prison cell's metal gate without touching it, though it did look like it took quite a lot of effort and concentration to do so
"Impressive, this makes me wonder what other powers you may be hiding, perhaps you can allow me to run a battery of tests on you someday so I can witness the true extent of your repertoire."
That's what Faustein said aloud with a smirk worthy of the best of mad scientists on his thin lips, while internally thinking
The Digital World sure has some intriguing specimens and phenomena, I wonder what other such mysteries exist out there for me to explore and study...this one's powers are curious, indeed...I wonder if they are due to some advanced technology or some natural phenomena that I am not yet aware of...
He snapped out of his reverie shortly after as he remembered something the little imp said earlier
"You had mentioned your species earlier, but what exactly are your kind called? To me, you merely look like a small child in imp cosplay..."
He remarked as he look at it quizzically and then fell silent, waiting for its reaction. Meanwhile, Taser and Lego which had been watching silently now got up and stood at the ready with a salute
"Awaiting instructions, General."

Mandrake stared at Faustein as if he were weird before he said "What do you mean by tests. I take it that these tests aren't simply ones done in a physical at a hospital. As for my other powers, utilize magical abilities which include the power to create illusions." Mandrake then thought 'What is with this human?'
At the mention of his species, Mandrake said "I see you aren't familiar with a wide variety of digimon. I am of a species known as Impmon." He then smirked before he continued "I assume you mean I look like a human child dressed as an Imp. I can see how you can think that considering that I seem to have quite a few human like traits." As the human's partners approached, Mandrake stepped out of the cell and said "You are more than welcome to rot in this dungeon if you want or you can come with me."

"You would indeed be correct in your assumption, Impmon."
Faustein assured the Impmon and then listened intently to its narrative as it explained how it was able to generate illusions through the use of magic power. Then it had gone on to speculate about the meaning behind Faustein's allusion to its appearance being akin to that of a child in imp cosplay. After that, once it stepped out the prison cell, Faustein followed suit with a smirk and waited for his partners to come as well. Once Taser and Lego had joined them, Faustein remarked while stretching to work the knots out of his body and walking slowly along
"Well then, shall we make our escape from this place? We should probably do it as quckly as possible to minimize the risk of running into one of those Bee digimon or that other enormous one which seemed to be their leader..."
He turned to the Impmon and then inquired about its identity, while making sure not to halt anywhere
"By the way, do you have any data regarding that huge insectoid digimon which seemed to be leading the FanBeemon around earlier?"
He fell silent and kept moving his eyes about to see if he could find a quick exit route out of the Hive. He ordered Taser to scout ahead as well with its analytic ability while Lego was put in charge of guarding him with its satellite arms maneuver wherein it ejected its upper limbs and had them orbiting Faustein like planets around a star.

"Impmon is only the name of my species. I am Mandrake and I assume your name isn't human." Mandrake said as he walked with the human who seemed to be a Xros General. 'I don't know much about Xros Generals since this one seems to be the first one I've encountered and teamed with what appears to be twins no less.' He thought as they walked. "As for escaping from this place, I agree with you. Maybe if I didn't stop to check on those Fanbeemon guards you ordered your partners to attack I wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. Which makes me wonder why you would willingly walk right into potential life threatening danger. That and why didn't your partners try to talk you out of going in here. Surely they know better."
"As for that larger bee digimon it is known as Waspmon. It might be best to avoid them if possible on our way out. Champion level digimon are stronger than rookie digimon." Mandrake would of used his telepathy to help but there were so many minds, he would have trouble sensing them coming.

"Ah, so digimon actually christen themselves with self-crafted names even without human input then? Intriguing, very curious indeed. By the way, you can call me Stein."
That had brought another issue to mind now that they were on the subject of humans and digimon
"Wait, where is your human partner, Mandrake? That is if you have one, of course..."
He had asked in a curious tone while transfixing the little imp digimon with his crimson red gaze, but then it had steered the conversation toward the reason for which he had entered the hive and also why his partners Taser and Lego did not try to stop him. To that he remarked with a bemused expression on his face, though the corner of his lips were twitching as if he was holding back laughter
"Why did I enter the Hive? Because I thought I could invite the Beemon for a nice friendly afternoon tea party of course...nothing wrong with that is there? Regarding my partners, they probably thought the Beemon were going to be reasonable entities...and accept the invitation."
He had tried to deflect the issue thus and then moved on to the topic of digimon power levels
"I see...so how much stronger exactly would you say a Champion is to a Rookie?"
He wondered aloud as he asked the little imp, trying to gather as much data as he could before they made contact with the Beemon series.

"We didn't always use names Stein. We digimon used to address each other by the name of our species, many still do, but when humans came into the picture individual names became popular." When the subject of a human partner came up he then said "I don't have a human partner. I'm more of a solo act you humans might say. Though at times it can be a lonely existence."
As he listened to Faustein's explanation to why he was in the hive, a disbelieving look appeared in Mandrake's blue eyes before he said "Seriously? As much as I enjoy tea, don't insult my intelligence. You are obviously not in here for such a reason. I wouldn't be a skilled magician if I was stupid."
Then the strength of champion level digimon came up and then after sighing, Mandrake said "I see your partners haven't discussed digimon levels with you. You see digimon start out as digieggs which hatch into newborn digimon that are called Fresh stage digimon, then they become in-training digimon, and after that comes the rookie stage. Your partners and myself are rookie digimon and so is Fanbeemon. Unlike Fresh and In-training digimon, which are weak, Rookies are relatively independent and capable of at least defending themselves. The next stage is the champion stage and that one would take multiple rookies to defeat if it comes to a fight. Even though I'm a rookie digimon, I'm not much for brawling but I have a few handy ways of defending myself if I have to."
