Personality:
Dylan compartmentalizes his personality depending on the company present. Around good friends he may be relaxed and extroverted, around strangers probably quiet and stiff, on stage highly dynamic and arrogant, and around family most likely cagey and quiet. None of these are illusions or acts, but the last on that list is still closest to his truest self. In his own mind, Dylan is ethically superior to most other people because of a well-defined moral foundation. This includes a strong personal stake in causes he sees as being for social justice or moral necessity, on which he may be loudly opinionated. It’s for this reason he feels he could and should do great things for the world, if only it would let him. He thinks a shortcut to achieving influence in the world is fame, and to that end he has devoted himself entirely to his practice of music. All his current study in school is, in his opinion, a meaningless act. While not deluded enough to be certain of his heroic aspirations, he still has enough of a skewed, teenage risk-assessment view to go all-in on it anyway. In times of stress he can maintain a cold, calculating view of his situation, but this is only a temporary coping mechanism against becoming completely overwhelmed. Dylan likes to think he works well with others, but if he thinks his partners in any endeavor are grossly incompetent he is likely to become frustrated with them. On the other hand, the same can happen if he feels outclassed by them. The sweet spot is in the middle, where he contributes about his share and not grossly more or less. While he rarely acts out of altruism, Dylan insists that someone who can do great good is in fact obliged to, which for him is often the biggest driver to action in the face of stress. In conversation, Dylan has little regard for the use of profanity in everyday speak as well as more colorful expressions as hyperbole - not unless speaking to someone much older than him or of charge of him. In his off time between homework and music interests, he enjoys shooter games and long naps on the bed.
Appearance: Dylan’s dark brown hair naturally curls up, even at a length that comes down well past his shoulders. He’s caucasian and a much fairer than most. Off stage he wears thinly framed glasses that he can’t see well without. Over his slim build he usually wears the band T-shirt of some metal band, dark jeans, and black sneakers. On stage he may don black fingerless gloves and remove the glasses. His face is always almost cleanly shaven - he never seems to just quite nail the close shave. On chillier days he’ll travel in a black hoodie, usually worn unzipped, or in extreme cold a thick black winter jacket. Hoods are usually but not always down. He wears a pick on his neck on a string just to show off his hard rock identity in his style. Dylan’s eyebrows are thick and bushy, and while his acne seems to have gone mostly away not all of the scars did.
Personal History: Dylan was born in Boston Medical Center to parents Gerald and Jeena Loon three years before his sister Sierra. This was his entire world until just six weeks prior to his story’s start, which was when his adventurous-type parents decided it was simply time to fulfill their shared dream of living in the bright and lively city of Tokyo, Japan. Prior to that, the boy’s grades and social life were very high and healthy... until they weren’t. When most of his childhood friends moved to different schools and sometimes different parts of the country (in New England at the time many more people were moving away than arriving), both of those things started sliding downhill. His new normal was going to school, then locking himself away in his room until his family finally caved into buying him a guitar and lessons like he’d asked each Christmas. He was hooked instantly. In no time at all he was asking for sound interfaces, fancy microphones, and monitors, sometimes taking jobs for pieces of more expensive equipment, with cables as stocking stuffers. Heavy rock and metal music incidentally turned out to draw him both with some pleasing sensory affinity to those instrument sounds as well as its tendency to “say the quiet part out really f*cking loud,” in his own words. His first and only band was in the states, and he knew his “high school band” sounded about as good as that description suggested, further driving him into producing his own songs entirely. Six weeks into Japanese life, his music was about the only thing meaningful to Dylan that he was able to take with him. He’d gotten about a year’s notice to learn some very basic Japanese in a special class before shipping off, and at his story’s start he still struggles with it as well as having no personal contacts in the city. However, he understands this is his life now and accepts it... reluctantly.
Digimon Name: Shoutmon
Default Form: Shoutmon
Gender: Male
Alignment: True Neutral
Skills/Talents:
-Can play any musical instrument he sees proficiently, provided no physical limitations prevent it
-A tinker and mechanic; enjoys working with machines and reasonably simple tech.
-Can summon or banish a microphone and headphones at will.
Inventory:
-One battle microphone.
-One vocal microphone.
-One set of headphones.
Personality:
Shoutmon is a digimon with a highly dynamic personality that can shift on a dime from the slightest stimulus. His default state is that of someone who only wants to live, let live, and have a good time while he still as it. For Shoutmon, a good time could include a party, a chat, a nap, or a little alone time. It can even include a brawl; for Shoutmon, few things can match the joy of blowing out somebody's eardrums or simply whacking them in the head as hard as he can. As he sees it, a fight can either be consensual (meaning the opponent has no justification to be upset about these things) or nonconsensual (in which case the opponent definitely deserved whatever they got). Either way, Shoutmon has no moral qualms about it. An adventurous and outgoing digimon, Shoutmon is always seeking his next big thrill, occasionally setting a toe over the line of recklessness along the way. Outside this state, any insult could drive him into a searing anger - or a deep depression. Any compliment can send his spirits soaring. Any success could overfeed his ego, and any failure could utterly crush him. In the end, though, Shoutmon almost always bounces back from one extreme, even if he only ends up in another immediately after. As a team member, Shoutmon tries to build his partners' confidence and back them up. He looks for a need or niche and tries to fill it himself. This digimon has a strong sense of justice and a very black-and-white view of most things in the world, which doesn't exactly help his impulse control.
Personal History: Shoutmon has historically been a transient sort, never staying in one place for long. Most everywhere in the world has been fun for a while, but almost nowhere ever really felt like home. While Shoutmon has some contacts in almost every region of the digital world, none could be accurately described as close friends. There had always been one thing he was lacking. Something was missing. Every day was a party, a scrap, a mosh pit, then a nap. It was only recently that Shoutmon even realized what it was he was really striving for through a lifestyle of hedonism: fulfillment, specifically of some specific purpose.
Fresh
Species: Jyarimon
Appearance:
Attribute: Free
Family/ies: Dragon's Roar
Type: Slime
Fighting Style: Even in fresh form Jyarimon is equipped to really ruin somebody's day. His screech is shrill and loud enough to stagger some who are caught unaware. However, this is really more of a deterrent or a shock technique to let him have a short burst of flight to escape danger.
Abilities: [1 Ability Max]
[Noncombat passive] Short flight: Jyarimon can fly under his own power, but only in short bursts at very low altitudes.
1. Sonic Cry: Jyarimon cries out at the top of his lungs at a volume and pitch that can shatter glass and cause those too close to momentarily stagger.
Digivolves To: Gigimon
In-Training
Species: Gigimon
Appearance:
Attribute: None
Family/ies: Dragon's Roar
Type: Lesser
Fighting Style: This troublemaker can be a hit-and-run trickster or an all-out berserker. That all depends on just how badly Gigimon wants them to hurt.
Abilities: [2 Abilities Max]
[Noncombat passive] Moderate Flight: Gigimon can fly under his own power, but not for long periods of time or at very high altitudes.
1. [Passive]Righteous Rage: Upon taking damage, this digimon gains a stack of Righteous Rage. Upon damaging an opponent, he loses one stack. Upon damaging an opponent while having three stacks, he loses every stack. This ability may stack up to three times. Each stack increases the damage he deals by about fifteen percent. If this digimon has two or three stacks, he is too enraged to let himself be affected by healing. If this digimon has three stacks, an extra post of cooldown is added to each ability he uses.
2. Sonic Screech: Gigimon roars, which for him is really more like a shrill screech. This deals directional sonic damage.

Digivolves To:
Rookie
Species: Shoutmon
Appearance:
Original art by Chromedumb. Mechanical part removal by Spire.
Attribute: Free
Family/ies: Dragon's Roar
Type: Small Dragon
Fighting Style: Growing up doesn't have to mean maturing. Shoutmon is all about the DPS, and he doesn't intend to change that for anybody. However, he's still wise enough to know that nothing reduces damage per second as much as being knocked flat, so he'll still put a reasonable emphasis on his personal defense as well. He uses his mic both like a weapon and like a limb for extra mobility, and he likes to disrupt an enemy's natural flow in order to open them up for the big one.
Abilities: [4 Abilities Max]
[Noncombat] Summon/Banish: Shoutmon is able to materialize and dematerialize at will his microphone stand and his headphones with negligible time and effort.
1. [Passive] Righteous Rage: Upon taking damage, this digimon gains a stack of Righteous Rage.
2. Soul Crusher: Shoutmon sings or screams into his mic to charge it with his rock spirit's energy. All of Shoutmon's basic attacks with the microphone deal physical damage about equal to an ability with no cooldown. When Shoutmon next uses Rock Soul or Feedback Blast, that ability is somewhat more powerful. The charge wears off after three posts or after using one of those abilities (whichever comes first). Cooldown: 2 posts.
3. Rock Soul: Shoutmon summons his deepest spirit and channels it into a directional scream through his microphone. Targets take sonic damage from this attack, and it reinvigorates Shoutmon enough to shrug off some of his pain, effectively slightly healing himself. Cooldown: 3 posts.
4. Feedback Blast: This digimon uses his microphone to absorb a damaging ranged ability and sends the same attack back at its user. The reflected attack is sent back with all its additional effects still applying to the original user but at somewhat reduced damage (if the original attack had a damage boost, the reflected attack is sent back without it). Champion attacks are diffused and not reflected, being too much data to store for the mic. Cooldown: 3 posts.

His tail and drumsticks are used for wide-ranging sonic attacks and amplify his immense physical strength. By using his wings like sound reflectors, any attack can be a wide-ranging area-of-effect or a focused blast. Watch out!
Abilities: [6 Abilities Max]
Flight [Noncombat]: This digimon uses his wings to fly under his own power.
1. [Passive] Air Funnel: Percussimon can redirect and amplify sound waves by aligning and vibrating his massive wings made of a special material full of microcavities. By doing this, he can disperse an existing sound over a wide area, which gives the sound a 25-meter area of effect radius with about a 25% decrease in potency due to covering a wider area. His constant sound direction technique also immunizes him from his own attacks. Cooldown: 2 posts.
2. [Passive] Righteous Rage: Upon taking damage, this digimon gains a stack of Righteous Rage.
3. Pressure Gong: Percussimon conjures a giant gong out of thin air and pounds it once with his tail. The huge sound reverberates and deals massive sonic damage. As well, the shocking impulse of the sound can damage the inner ear, inflicting a lasting ache and severely throwing off someone's sense of coordination and balance for two posts. Cooldown: 5 posts.
4. Drum Roll Assault: Percussimon roars at his drumsticks, causing them and the end of his tail to faintly glow orange. He then uses his drumsticks as blunt weapons, striking at a foe's body with them in an extremely rapid combo. Even glancing blows cause this attack's strike to produce a loud sound which can deal big sonic damage to the one hit. Cooldown: 2 posts.
5. Feedback Roar: This digimon uses his mouth to absorb a damaging ranged ability. Then, he sends the sound that it had made (heavily amplified) back at a foe as a directional sonic attack. The reflected attack is sent back with all its additional effects still applying but at somewhat reduced damage (if the original attack had a damage boost, the reflected attack is sent back without it). Absorbed ultimate attacks are diffused instead of reflected, being too much data for him to store, and can only be about 25% absorbed. Cooldown: 3 posts.
6. Metal Dragon Soul: Percussimon summons his deepest spirit and channels it into a guttural metal scream reminiscent of a dragon's roar. The opponent takes sonic damage, and the scream reinvigorates Percussimon enough to shrug off some of his pain, effectively slightly healing himself. Cooldown: 3 posts.
7. [RAM Upgrade] Drum Roll: Percussimon uses his sticks and tail as blunt weapons, pounding on a foe to deal blunt force damage.
