As both groups were about to find out, Machinedramon were not only menaces at close range. No: they were formidable fortress types: at the cost of mobility, they would be able to produce powerful, wide-area attacks, while being able to take several attacks themselves.
Such was the case of the BlackMachinedramon: as the spinning claw would meet that shield, and the axe behind it, Skadi would not find the 'catch' that she was looking for. Rather, for the few seconds that that two attacks were in contact, she would see sparks flying up off of her axe, the force of the Machinedramon's swing felt all the way down to the core of her arms. A second later, the Machinedramon was forced to back-step by the force of its mirror shield - and as it did so, its foot would catch into the mud, causing the metal titan to briefly lose its footing.
That was enough for the monster to be rooted in place, largely unable to dodge the onslaught coming for him. The arm of that spinning claw was raised up, and subsequently shot through by the railgun blast and the deluge of Mae's makeshift claws. The first bore a hole straight through, and the second ripped the already-weakened arm to shreds, leaving an inoperable piece of metal.
... And with a puff of steam, the Machinedramon would dislodge the entire arm. With a scorch mark and a small hole through its helmet, from the AvengeKidmon's piercing rifle, the beast still stood - but it clearly knew that it was outmatched. Two super megas, a mega standing in front of him, and another behind?
If the BlackMachinedramon wanted to protect this tower, it would need to act beyond the capacity that it was working at right now. With that, the beast would stand astride, regaining its footing - its chest beginning to pulse, and slowly grow orange, as it built up to do something.
And that something was enough for the Wizardmon to swear. With the two tamers and Connor with him, the sorcerer pointed his staff forward, an ethereal barrier blocking the way to the ramp. Even Connor added to this, at least matching the Wizardmon's pose with his own:
"Pierce that one's core, quick! It's gonna blow!"
"Wolf, try and use the other one as cover!"
That was, perhaps, easier said than done. The WhiteMachinedramon was not under nearly as much pressure as the BlackMachinedramon. Silence managed to halt the fire of the barrage with her crescent blade, a deep cut made into that armored arm, but it still looked raring to go - just as that electrical spear slammed right into his arms.
As the arms sparked, he would swing out, in an effort to at least get Luke off of him, before he'd clamp both of his arms against the floor, and ready his own cannons. But, as the 'Giga Cannon' was being primed, that same electricity would spark, delaying the attack for a few seconds. But for the WhiteMachinedramon, it was worth the risk.
His back was against the wall. And if it got this off, the Giga Cannon that was forthcoming could hit a large part of this circular room at once!
BlackMachinedramon is critically wounded, and begins to self-destruct. WhiteMachinedramon is delayed from attacking for one post - but readies Giga Cannon, regardless.

This was bad; this was really bad. If it wasn’t for luke adding in with their own attack it would have been even worse. The Cresgarurumon growled a bit as it noted that it’s crescent blade had only managed to cut deep and not sever it like she had hoped. Seeing the other mon swing out; potentially knocking luke away and clamping down onto the ground? It was reading a big attack with those cannons; a big attack that maybe would cause a lot of issues. But then there was also the commotion behind them. But they’d need to focus on one enemy at a time. This enemy in front of her had to go before she could deal with the other; if it was still standing. The cresgarurumon knew that it couldn’t just willy nilly attack, it couldn’t just make random efforts. She had to be smart, precise and to the point. The heavy armor of this mon would make efforts that weren’t these… poor in terms of effecting the battle as a whole. That being said? She noted that there was wiring that the machinedramon had that connected to the cannons. With a snarl she’d jump up; with it’s arms clamped to the ground it’s not like she could get stopped by it right now right? With the sword that was encased in the energy of the seventh key she’d make a resounding swipe, aiming to cut the cables attached to the canons in one fell swoop. She figured that these were what would power the forthcoming attack. That or they were some kind of guidance system; it was hard to tell exactly but it was a gamble she figured would pay off. That or maybe it’d cause whatever energy that the machinedramon was using to fire into it’s core rather than out of it’s cannons? It was hard to say. Ultimately she’d land on the other side of the machinedramon; it’d have to turn around to get her and until then she would have it’s back open to her. Log: -Silence jumps up and over the machinedramon, making slashes at the cables connected to it’s cannons with it’s empowered blade. Passives: Soul-Bound|combat passive: Rather than wielding the stereotypical glaive that cresgarurumon's are known for. This digimon instead wields a powerful set of swords. This swords are naturally imbued with energy of the digimon's data. Rather than being a physical sort of damage, these swords deal energy damage and are not affected by reduction that would affect normal blades.
Full Metal|Combat Passive: This digimon's body looks to be heavily armored but in fact is simply metal given form; reducing all incoming damage by 10% without reducing it's speed.
Move: N/A Active effect: [RAM UPGRADE GIGA]The Seventh Key: A Gift from her last iteration, for unlocking the potential that she was capable of. This ability is naturally represented by digital coding on various parts of her body, one on each of her arms, legs[Dragon, Space, Sword, Silence] and a seven pronged key on her chest in light blue Luminescent pattern. This ability allows her to draw forth a saberk unlike any other, one that bleeds into others of it's kind to strengthen them if they are present while also allowing a blade of it's own use if she deigns so. This saberk is capable of being any weapon, capable of shooting out energy waves or projectiles and lasts until broken or dismissed. To enhance a present saberk she must invoke this ability separately. The range on the energy blasts/waves differs level to level for melee 15/50/150/300/1000 and ranged weapons 30/100/300/600/N/A respectively [Measurements done in feet]. Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Aug 10, 2020 9:19:33 GMT
Be it by sheer good luck or the amazing teamwork on show here, somehow, as the team had lay the hurt upon the Machinedramon, they somehow managed to avoid getting a single scratch upon any of their persons. But Skadi knew she couldn't hold out forever. Even as her arms started to feel more and more pressured by the second, she grit her teeth and dug her hooves deeper, her gaze never breaking from her adversary.
As the Machinedramon stumbled back into the mire, the Kheimon gave one final swing to the floor, painting heavily, only being able to watch as both Mae and Bellamy would, and let's be honest here, raise absolute hell upon the massive robotic titan. Yet, she could feel her joints start to wobble slightly, and beads of sweat could be seen building upon her forehead. But her proud smile never wavered. She knew she had a good team on her hands, and her hand tightly gripped upon her axe once more.
Only when the core of the beast started to glow a bright orange did her smile waver. Like Connor and Wizardmon before them, she could tell that the worst was yet to come. And Kenny knew that too. Behind the Wizardmon's shield, Kenny hid behind the spellcaster, only daring himself to peer from behind as he lay his hands upon his shoulders. The Wizardmon could feel not just the wobbling bones, but the heavy breathing as the tamer said nothing, and could only wait and see what would happen next.
Without even blinking, the 10 orbs that circled around her arms had floated up towards the back of her body, then above her, all the while forming a giant circle, a bright glowing white transforming into a blinding aqua blue, that would only glow brighter in a matter of moments.
In what seemed to be mere magic to the average observer, the circlet would fire off a powerful shining beam of light, not too dissimilar to the Giga Cannon beforehand - in terms of both appearance and power - surging at blinding speeds towards the glowing core. Allies who accidentally found themselves within the mighty crossfire wouldn't exactly feel much. At worse, they'd feel nothing more than a light shiver down the spine, and maybe a few goosebumps or two.
The Machinedramon wouldn't be so lucky.
Had this beam struck true to it's target, nothing it had upon it's disposal would save it, it's (pieces of scraps that could charitably be called) armour, any protective shield or barrier it may still have hiding up it's sleeve, anything. Hopefully, that alone would be enough to put down the mighty behemoth once and for all.
But a little extra elbow grease wouldn't hurt either.
In order to stop the impending explosion, and with no other available shield to protect the group, Skadi fires off an Armourbreaker-boosted Eraser Storm, directly aimed at the glowing core of the Black Machinedramon.
Eraser Storm: The ten orbs of Skadi form a giant circlet near her of up to 200 meters, before firing off a beam of light, said to decimate even the evilest of Digimon with relative ease, bar her own allies. This attack can also be charged for up to 3 posts, giving a +75% damage increase to this attack for a total of +225% damage. If charged up for 3 posts, this can also allow this attack to bypass/break shields, passives, and buffs to deal maximum damage. (3 post cooldown)
The passive Armourbreaker has been activated for this post.
Armourbreaker (passive): If this passive is triggered, any attack she uses will possess the ability to bypass defensive passives and defensive buffs the opponent(s) may have on them, as well as bypassing and destroying any active shields they may have on them. Each ability will have a minor cosmetic change to them to indicate whenever this ability is triggered. If used on an attack which can already bypass defensive buffs and destroy shields, that attack’s damage is doubled by x2. (3 post cooldown)
Buffs/Nerfs: Skadi, Mae, Luke, Bellamy: Aurora Borealis (+50% ATK/SPD): 2/3, can stack Skadi only: Armourbreaker (Bypass all known defences): This post only
Cooldowns: Hailstorm Crash: 3/3 Reflection: 2/4 Eraser Storm: 0/3 Armourbreaker: 0/3

None of the trio thought this would be easy. It had taken them long enough to rise to the occasion in fighting not one, but two horrifying Machinedramons. However, so far, they had landed their intended blows, and such, were at least in this for another round.
The Black Machinedramon seemed to be critically damaged by the onslaught, but, to everyone's horror, it seemed to be on the verge of a core explosion. If that happened, well, that would be the end of them.
While Colin trusted that Skadi and Silence mostly had it under control, he still wanted desperately for his partners to help contain this as much as possible. His thoughts were shared by Luke, who was as unprepared for this battle as Colin was. While of course he could have launched another attack, his abilities in this form were more geared to helping others. And he had a move in mind.
"Colin, can I help Mae?" he asked his partner. Colin nodded, and with that, Luke turned his attention to the Rasielmon, casting a wave of energy upon her. "Over Soul!" he cried, granting her energy that would allow her to use one of her stronger attacks once more.
Bellamy meanwhile turned his attention to the White Machinedramon, ready to bring down the pain. "Misery Bullet Rain!" he snarled, shooting dozens of orbs of darkness at it, each of them ready to cause strong amounts of damage.
Colin meanwhile watched all of this with horror, hoping they had all of this in check.
Luke uses Over Soul on Mae.
Over Soul: Luke waves his paw and sends a rush of divine wind at himself or an ally. When this wave hits, the cooldown for 1 attack is removed (as long as it is 3 turns or less). If the cooldown is more than 3 turns, then the cooldown is reduced by 3. [Cooldown: 3 posts].
Spear of Ezekiel cooldown: 1/3
Bellamy uses Misery Bullet Rain on the White Machinedramon.
Misery Bullet Rain: Bellamy's guns glow with grey fire and he shoots all of his weapons at the enemy, creating about 50 medium velocity dark energy spheres. If the enemy evades or defends against this attack, the cooldown is refunded and Bellamy can continue the attack manipulating the dark energy so they spin around his target, turning into a shell of darkness, then blasting them with double damage with enhanced accuracy. This makes it potentially fatal to other Super Mega levels. The cooldown would then apply after this turn. [Cooldown: 3 posts]
Hellfire Railgun cooldown: 1/2

Let none ever state that Mae was not prepared for anything in the world, for she had anticipated that SOMETHING in this place was going to attempt self-destructing. If every digimon encountered here had been a robot, then evidently one would have to have detonating capabilities. So, being faced with a Machinedramon about to go nuclear? Not something she wasn't expecting. She didn't think she had the appropriate firepower to pierce the core at the moment...Until a divine wind, courtesy of Luke, rushed over here. A quiet utterance of something was made, before one of the ciphers on her arms began to rev itself up once more. With gusto. Before she aimed for the chest of the BlackMachinedramon and let the beam of power rip, aiming to strike there and finish this before it could explode!
Relevant Passives: Fatebreaker [RAM Upgrade Giga]: This entity has the same mysterious foresight that a Rasielmon would possess. As such, Mae has the ability to divine a potentially infinite number of futures, depending on the level she's at. There are, however, limits to her foresight. For one, the lower the level, the more muddied, limited, and opaque the visions will be. The higher, the clearer. Furthermore, in combat, this is only really applicable as a way to warn herself and others of various attacks. Whether she can dodge them or not even with this is entirely on her. Should she successfully dodge an attack she had a vision of, the chances she can dodge the next one are lower. Basically she can’t spam this unless she wants the hurt.
Elemental Connection: Every three turns, Mae can apply one of five elements to her attack, changing it’s properties and/or appearance to suit the opponent she’s facing. They go as follows: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light.
Instinctual Supplement: Fatebreaker ties into this passive--Her foresight is amplified greatly in this form, enabling Mae to have above-average reaction times to a LOT of things. Basically, she’s greater at dodging and/or countering attacks than a good deal of her other forms.
Mae receives Over Soul from Luke, and the cooldown on her Knowledge Stream is done away with. So she uses it immediately. AB: 2/3. Knowledge Stream: Mae combines all five of the elements that she can use for her Elemental Connection passive to fire a beam that can best be described as pure, concentrated unmaking. As all five of the elements from that passive are present, this attack...has no element. It simply is. Three turn cooldown. Cooldowns: Divine Punishment: 1/3 Spatial Relocation: 3/4 Knowledge Stream: 0/3

Thankfully, there was full agreement with Connor's and Wizardmon's assessment of the situation. The two of them focused on defense, but it was uncertain just how much their barrier would be able to hold back, and considering the level of firepower that was threatened in their direction?
Stopping the explosion would be much better than dealing with the aftereffects. But even as the BlackMachinedramon threatened its detonation, the further WhiteMachinedramon threatened an almost-equally threatening Giga Cannon in the group's direction, resulting in about a 50-50 split of the group's efforts. Mae's empowered Knowledge Stream would crash right down towards the data-dense BlackMachinedramon, as Skadi let forth her Eraser Storm to attempt to target the whole machine at once. The Wizardmon lowered his hat, Connor shielding his eyes with his free hand, as that torrent of blinding not only completely concealed the machine, but left the group entirely unable to see what was beyond. They would hear a 'crack', and some form of loud detonation in the distance - but nowhere near the level that it could have been.
The BlackMachinedramon's frame gave a spark, several functions critically malfunctioning as it collapsed into a heap, exploding out a few moments later into trash data. As for the WhiteMachinedramon? Well, not that it could be expected from a fighter-type, but Silence was about to get a direct lecture in mechanical engineering, in perhaps the most brutal way possible. She would succeed in detaching the cables, but that came at the effort of a direct attack on the WhiteMachinedramon's very active livewire. The moment that the cables were disconnected, a powerful short-circuit echoed right through the ports, resulting in a short-and-fast electrical explosion - one that would not only likely through Silence off course, but would send an immense electrical shock directly through her entire frame. In similar fashion, the back of the cannons would blow out, an impressive amount of smoke billowing out through the back of the beast.
This, paired with Bellamy's hail of bullets, would heavily strike against the Machinedramon's armor. No effort could be made to dodge, so they would simply hit head on, and leave the WhiteMachinedramon to fall on its knee, straining to even look back up at the group.
"... Can't let that one do the same trick..." 'Connor', muttering to himself, would do something that would look more than a little crazy for a 'human' to do - that being, slip right out of cover, giving a full sprint across the battlefield, right towards the WhiteMachinedramon's body. The beast threatened to object, but before it could begin the same process as its 'twin', Connor's hand would already be on top of the mega's lowered head, a white light glowing from his palm.
"Rescind the Gate's order. Shut down."
With everything else going on, only those with excellent hearing or those closest to him would hear what Connor even said - but, either way, the WhiteMachinedramon's frame would go slack, light fading from the sentry's eyes as it collapsed into an inactive heap. And from the way Connor stepped away, turning his back to the WhiteMachinedramon, he was absolutely confident that that was the end of it.
"... I have so many questions about our 'friend' here, but for now..." The Wizardmon coughed, and called out: "Everyone, take a minute. Stay alert, but refresh yourselves however you can. Whatever's down there's not going to take what we just did sitting down!"

With so much happening at once it would be difficult to follow everything. But with her sword slicing through the cable and her lack of engineering experience well… She was given a result she wasn’t entirely expecting. She’d jittery as she was sent off course and scrambled as she hit the ground before falling flat on her face with a rather mellow curse coming from her lips. But glancing back and slowly pushing herself up; she could see that smoke billowing upwards. ”Duly noted not to hit those cables for when they’re charging…”Silence muttered to herself; readying her blade again as she figured she’d have to end the machinedramon’s fighting ability another way. Up until she saw a pair of feet followed by a line of words she didn’t entirely know what to make of. She’d lean to one side, giving a shake of her head before staring oddly at Connor. ”Okay. That was weird.”Hearing what the wizardmon said the cresgarurumon gritted her teeth and nodded. The only way she really had to heal in this form was from the knight’s ability to regenerate and she wasn’t sure if that’d be entirely enough. She could digivolve to help bump up her total health and such but there was also the issue of her aura slowing down people. So for now she’d take the moment to stand to one side, the bits of her that were damaged from the electrical explosion were slowly healing and the metal body of the cresgarurumon didn’t seem too worse for wear. ”Gonna save that for when we know…”They didn’t know what was down there, how strong it was. It wouldn’t be good for her to just be in her super mega for a scout or something. So she’d keep her biggest hitter in her back pocket for now. Even as she felt an itching somewhere that suggested to her that she shouldn't be on the defensive. That this was a mistake to just idly sit here; they should be moving forward and not waiting. She'd twist her hands on the grips of her swords and gritted her teeth. She didn't look entirely enthused about sitting around either but... If the fight was coming to them it was better to know where you were fighting right? Log: -Silence takes quite a nasty jolt to her frame… -But with everything that happened she at least has the ability to takes moment to let her regen do some work! Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Aug 25, 2020 4:44:22 GMT
For a few brief moments, everything was a blur.
Kenny couldn't bear to watch; rather, he found himself covering his face with his free arm as both Skadi and Mae let out a dual assault upon the Machinedramon to stop the impending explosion, wincing and shutting his eyes as he heard an explosion start to rock the area - but only after a few moments would he dare himself to look up and the see the end results.
As Skadi's massive beam died down, the circlet behind her would collapse, before shrinking down and resume circling her wrists once more like if nothing had happened. Heavy painting could barely be heard over the (thankfully was smaller) explosion from the Kheimon as she watched the BlachMachinedramon fracture into data. She'd only give a cursory glance towards the remains before turning her focus back to the rest of the group, rubbing one of her aching arms, "You guys OK?"
"Never been better." Kenny simply joked with a lopsided smile. He'd say more, but his sight, along with Skadi's, would quickly drift over to Silence's battle with the WhiteMachinedramon, and the smoke bellowing out of it. But before either could react, Connor had already run off without so much of a proper warning.
"Wait-!" In a sudden, impulsive moment, Kenny would try to reach out to grab Connor's shoulder. Key word: 'try'; rather he'd find himself grasping empty air as Connor went on to stop the other Machinedramon effortlessly. Neither budged from their spot to try and stop Connor as he looked to calm the other draconic android without breaking so much as a sweat.
...just what was Connor's connection with the Gate anyways.
Still, neither could complain all too much, and Skadi could only give a nod towards the Wizardmon as she sheathed her axe and stretched her arms, "You're telling me. I swear, I felt like my arms were ready to just pop off right then and there. We've barely managed to get out of this unscathed." It was a bittersweet reminder; apart from the more hands-on Silence duking it out with the WhiteMachinedramon initially mono et mono, one slip up from the rest of the group and things would easily have gone to hell.
Yet, she still stood on lookout for any possible new threats looming nearby.

Luke gave a sigh of relief as his attempt to help out Mae worked and her attack worked in the nick of time. And it seemed the team's combined efforts took down the mechanical duo.
The black Machinedramon was destroyed, but the White one lingered, and seemed to be about to attempt a self-destruct. To Colin's horror, Connor rushed out onto the battlefield to attempt to stop it. Luke and Bellamy were too shocked to stop him as well.
"Connor! What are you doing?!" Colin cried after him. But, to their shock, Connor seemed to be able to shut down the white Machinedramon alone. They blinked for a little while. How in the world was this possible?
Well... supposing the Machinedramon had been beaten down enough by powerful attacks, leaving it vulnerable for whatever skills Connor had, well, it wasn't so mind-blowing from that angle. Wizardmon then advised them to take a moment to heal up for a bit.
Colin, Luke and Bellamy took advantage of that. For the moment, Luke and Bellamy powered down from their Super-Mega forms to their Ultimate level forms - Dynammon and Astamon. After all, it took lots of energy to maintain their high forms, and keeping them when there was no visible threat or use for them seemed like a fairly illogical option. But they wouldn't revert to their Rookie forms as before, given that it was likely they were by now noticed. Colin began to pant a little from the effort though, it took some of his energy to keep them evolved.
"Colin, best have some chocolate." Luke advised his partner. Colin nodded, taking out a bar of emergency ration chocolate and took a couple of bites. While it was no substitute for a good night's rest, it still kept him functional further for this situation.
"You want some chocolate too, Kenny? Skadi? Mae? Silence?" he offered the others, realizing they had expended a lot of energy as well, and might appreciate just a little boost before continuing.
Bellamy meanwhile regarded the room with a careful gaze before continuing. "Yeesh, that was some red carpet they laid out for us there." the Astamon remarked. "Hey, Connor, you seem to know a bit about this place, any idea on what we've got ahead of us?" he asked.
With the threat ended for now, Luke and Bellamy de-digivolve to their Ultimate levels to preserve energy.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm good. Just two near death experiences via Machinedramon detonation." Yes. Absolutely okay. In all seriousness, shaken as Mae was, they had managed to come out of this relatively unscathed. Two cards swiped, a lot of firepower shown off, and two scrap heaps.
Yet.
...How was it that a HUMAN was able to shut down the White Machinedramon alone? Unaided? The Rasielmon found herself leveling a stare towards Connor. "Who...are you...?" She murmured quietly, before she turned her attention to Colin and co. An offer of chocolate. A snack ordinarily toxic to cats, but there was a fun liberty presented by her being a Digimon. Mae did not obey the same laws of nature that normal cats do, so she could eat all the chocolate she wanted.
"Don't mind if I do." She replied, an earnest smile on her face. "Honestly, treat yourself to some. We deserve it after that...But, the question does remain. Where exactly should our destination be within this tower? To find the source, that is..."

Yeah, there was about no way that Connor could get away with that without an explanation, right?
He had the appearance of a human, but acted with such confidence that he'd be able to make that dash and make contact with the mega without injuring himself. Connor didn't seem 'invincible' by any stretch of the imagination, but for him to pull off this much? Heck, how was he able to control the BishopChessmon that was watching the floor above?
That line of thought was briefly put on pause as Colin made the offer for chocolate, the Wizardmon giving a small tilt of his hat. "Actually, do you mind if I grab one? Its quite rare that I get to sample anything from the human world - and having a Datamon as my research partner doesn't leave much room or need to order sweets on our budget." If offered, he would take a bar of his own, a small nod given to Bellamy's question. "Suffice to say, your handling of the situation's far better than mine, Connor. I've seen such marked walls before, but you're able to read them clearly. What can you tell us about this place... if you're even allowed to say?"
"It's not a matter of what I can or can't say. Rather, its what I can afford to say." Connor turned to face the group. "You all came here as part of one group, but I'm here on my own. I know about as little of you as you know of me."
"Fair enough..." The Wizardmon gave a sigh. "Then let me rephrase - what can we expect to see ahead?"
Connor gave a pause. "... I'll yield to Mae's question. At the base of this tower, we should expect to find whoever is behind all of this. Whoever they are, they seem quite inexperienced at using the... 'tools at their disposal', so to say. Its minute, but the walls themselves show evidence of adjustment and reprogramming, like they didn't know exactly how to reign in what they created. At first, anyway."
To that end, Connor would give the ground a tap with his foot. "More to the point, that means that your 'culprit', or the city's 'leader', or however you want to put it, is only one more floor downward. Based on what we've seen so far, they're most likely going to fight quite ferociously to keep hold of what they have."
"My intent is to wrest control of the tower away from them."
"I see..." The Wizardmon rested his chin on his palm. "So its a matter of if we trust this complete stranger to take control of this phenomenon..."
"Well." Connor nodded, "That is about the long and short of it. For now, you can think of it as deciding whether 'that' is better than what is currently going on."

Silence wasn’t sure what to think at the moment;l the fight had gone pretty smoothly. Minimal damage on their half. If you excluded the fact she had been basically electrocuted this was a completely one sided victory no? She didn’t trust that easy nor did she like the fact this was the case. She’d rub her chin and frown; staring at the human that was near the whitemachinedramon.
Her attention was taken off of the other by colin who offered a bar of chocolate. The cresgarurumon took one of the offered bits; popping it into her mouth whole [minus the wrapper] and put a hand on her hip. The other resting firmly on her sword.
”Thanks. Won’t be stepping down though, easier to digivolve forward than it is backwards when I’m raring to go like this.”
Silence adjusted herself and turned to Connor; icy blue eyes taking him in for a few long moments. She’d shake her head for a moment. His answers to mae’s question didn’t rest easy for her. And the fact that they needed to trust a complete stranger also didn’t sit well with her. She’d rub at her chin, leaning slightly to inspect him. The human wouldn’t miss the fact a ten foot tall mechanized wolf was inspecting him that much was sure.
”I can’t say that there’s trust going either way that this point, but the fact that you didn’t attack us and were willing to work with us compared to the two big oafs that we just fought puts you in a better place. I’ll ask a simple question then. What do you want with this phenomenon if you mean to control it? If you don’t want to answer that’s fine but it’d be nice if you could at least allude to something.”
There was no point in dancing around the fact, no point in saying she wasn’t suspicious of him. But if they were to trust one another there’d be some clarity for him; if he wanted to know what she was here for she’d gladly share it.
If he didn’t want to, Silence didn’t have much else of a choice than just to go along with him and hope. She didn’t really like that; her eyes slid off of the human and back to the other side of the room where they would have to progress past the whitemachinedramon and down to the next floor. Which eventually would lead them to the one in charge of all this nonsense.
”I’ll be honest here, trust in itself is difficult to place to someone you just met but sometimes you just gotta take a chance. As stupid as that sounds. But if you’re as workable as you have been so far, then there’s no real reason to doubt you won’t be workable after the fact. I’ll be quite upset if that’s not the case afterwards though...”
She’d sigh and cross her arms, shaking her head just to make a point. Gods she hated this sort of trivial bullshit but what could you do? If he didn’t answer he didn’t answer, it wouldn’t change what she had to do for this job or what she was required to do for the group that sent her here.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Sept 17, 2020 1:39:54 GMT
To say the past few minutes were both physically and mentally exhausting for almost everybody here (bar the superhuman) was an understatement. Already, Kenny found himself unconsciously rubbing his forehead just to ease the rampant throbbing and beads of sweat, the only thing snapping him out of his trance was Colin offering him some chocolate. His eyes weakly glazed across to his fellow man as he gave him a weary smile.
"Thanks, man. I appreciate it." He said, taking a small piece for himself and Skadi. The Kheimon would give a grateful nod to the tamer as well before popping her own piece into her mouth. As Kenny chewed on his own piece, the still-painful headache threatened to drown out whatever both the Wizardmon and Connor had to say. But both of them could still get the gist of what was going on and what lay ahead.
Yet, Connor's simple goal, mixed within what he could actually tell the group, did threaten to muddy the waters. Even the Perfect-level BishopChessmon looked nothing more than a glorified lackey in comparison.
Still, both knew better than to upset the guy who managed to single-handily defeat a freaking Machinedramon without even breaking a sweat. With Silence already having asked about Connor's ultimate goal, the young man simply scratched his chin before looking at the superhuman, "Speaking of which, are you aware of any possible... 'incidents' outside of the tower itself that the general public don't know about? Like, bystanders being bribed to keep quiet about whatever the hell's going on here?"
Yeah, let's face facts: there would be no way that somebody would raise a giant, mind-controlling tower just for shits and giggles.

"So, we have that, at least..."
To wrest control of the tower from the one who created it. Mae had reservations about this, but...There was much about the situation that she knew very little of. And knowledge here was something that would prove far, far more valuable than going in blind. As much as she regarded her...gift of being able to divine the future as a burden, it would do her a service today.
It had been, in fact.
Mae was unsure of if this would yield anything, but she made a quick attempt to gaze into the future. See what would happen -if- they found the one responsible for the generation of this fortress, and Connor was able to do what he said he would do. She naturally had no input to add just yet, so it would be up to everyone else to keep the small talk going.
For the Ophanim was not a very social girl. And she was deep in focus.

Colin smiled and offered Wizardmon a piece of chocolate too. "Sure, no problem there." he said, and offered him a piece.
It was something that Colin's grandpa had taught him. Sometimes, when a situation was all in chaos, the sweet taste of chocolate could stifle the shock and allow someone the energy to act. Hence why he came with it in the first place.
They then paid attention to Connor's answer to Mae's question. Colin, Luke and Bellamy's expressions became more sombre as he continued. His intentions were vague and he didn't say what his ultimate intentions were. Simply that he wanted to remove control of the tower away from those currently in control.
Silence then asked the question that the trio wanted to know. And they eagerly awaited the answer. There wasn't much else they could add to the conversation from there until Connor answered, so they simply finished their chocolate and waited for what he had to say.
Although Bellamy just had to ask. "How did you shut down that Machinedramon though? Man, that was awesome. Do they have a weak spot that anyone can get to if they know where it is?" he asked, eager to know the secret in case one day it was just him against a similar Machinedramon.
