Yoshihiro had arrived in Tenebrous looking every bit an emotional wreck. He had come there looking for Ryuji after the teen had been kidnapped by a Buraimon that had defeated Yoshihiro when the two of them infiltrated a slave encampment run by said Buraimon. A slave revolt was the only reason the two of them made it out of that situation alive. Now here the little Calumon was looking for information on where his tamer could be after following the Buraimon's trail. Though catching up had not been easy. Yoshihiro clutched Ryuji's digivice in his paws as he floated through Tenebrous. Maybe if he were stronger what happened three days ago wouldn't have happened.
Flashback
Ryuji and Yoshihiro, who was riding on his tamer's shoulder like usual, had been traveling around The Digital Core not really doing anything in particular. That was until Yoshihiro had heard something in the air coming fast. Before he could warn Ryuji, Buraimon had landed and knocked Yoshihiro off his tamer's shoulder with a mere flick of one of his wings. Then as Ryuji pulled his digivice out of his pocket, Buraimon snatched the seventeen year old causing Ryuji to drop his digivice in surprise and, as Buraimon flew off with Ryuji tightly in his grip, he yelled "Yoshihiro, help!"
Unfortunately, there was nothing Yoshihiro could do since he was not able to float fast enough to keep up with Buraimon. Grabbing Ryuji's digivice, he glanced at it with a sad look in his eyes before floating in the direction Buraimon flew off. After describing his partner to and his kidnapper to many digimon he was able to pick up and follow Buraimon's trail but even without carrying Ryuji's digivice catching up would prove virtually impossible. Then he came upon a Digmon that was bound for Tenebrous, the direction Buraimon was headed for. The Digmon was even kind enough to give him a ride to Tenebrous and the two of them were able to arrive there. Though, at the time, Yoshihiro had no idea how closely behind Buraimon he was. Digmon mentioned a Togemon that ran a café that might be able to help him out.
Present
After floating for a while the emotionally drained Calumon spotted a café and floated toward it. WIth luck this one would have the Togemon that Digmon mentioned.

Going back was never an easy task, even though Amelie herself felt kinda numb towards the whole deal. She could only guess it was because of the process of getting acclimated to this world once again, but could it really be called that when she seldom felt… anything? It was honestly hard to tell.
Tenebrous was one of those places she had a weird fondness towards. “Doctor Cross’ doing, ain’t it?” She muttered to herself as soon as she took the first step into the city. That fruitless negotiation about a possible truce had turned sour and inconsequential real fast, which made the girl wonder if she was truly safe in case somebody recognized her? Yet… that seemed to be next to no issue as she advanced forward. Maybe she was that desperate to wake up from this numbness? It was hard to tell, considering her step didn’t seem anything out of the ordinary.
What was doing here, anyway? The truth was that the brunette had never in her life visited this place, and was honestly curious in regards to what was the deal with her late peer’s work. At first, she wandered somewhat aimlessly, just admiring the city’s architecture and how of a polar opposite it was when compared to Deeplane. All in all, she was glad that this place was everything her own wasn’t.
As far as she could see, there wasn’t a lot of interest to see, and she considered turning around and going back home at least three times before finally stumbling into a quaint café. Oh well; maybe she could find some quality tea here. That’d definitely salvage her visit.
She didn’t count on spotting quite the quaint creature before entering, however. A Calumon, alone on their own, carrying a digivice and with a look of utter exhaustion in their face. Not something she had hoped to see here, not by a long shot. In all honesty, it was kind of a miracle that the guy hadn’t been mugged by now… well, unless they were a mugger themselves. But how likely could that be? Probs not that much; nevermind the fact he didn’t appear to be a local.
“Hey there, little one.” She called out, referring to the small digimon. “I’m gonna be honest and say you look positively awful. Anything troubling you?”

Yoshihiro was expecting someone to speak to him but what he wasn't expecting was a voice that seemed friendly. He must have been more worn out than he thought considering he hadn't even heard the stranger's footsteps approaching him. Keeping calm as possible considering how stressed he was, he clenched Ryuji's digivice tighter before turning toward the stranger. "I've been traveling almost non stop for three days so I guess it makes sense that I would look awful." Yoshihiro said as he sighed before turning his green eyes toward the girl and continued "My tamer has been kidnapped by a slave trader, a digimon called Buraimon. My tamer is a tall seventeen year old boy with a mop of short messy black hair and blue eyes. When I last saw him, three days ago, he was wearing a baggy red hoodie. Have you seen him here?" Those big expressive eyes would be hard for anyone with a heart to ignore.
Meanwhile, with Ryuji, he lay inside a metal cage with his wrists bound behind his back with thick shackles so he couldn't remove the gag that he had that was keeping the teen from screaming. Other than being dirty and a little cut up, the boy seemed in perfect shape otherwise. He had worn those shackles since shortly after he had been kidnapped three days ago. The gag was only periodically removed when Buraimon gave him food and water. It was obvious that the slaver intended him to be in good health. Especially judging by what Buraimon had said little more than a couple hours ago when the two of them arrived in Tenebrous.
A couple hours prior
Buraimon was pulling Ryuji through the streets of Tenebrous by the arm. It had been three days since he had seen Yoshihiro after being yanked into the sky by his kidnapper. Now he was being forcefully marched through an underground city and the locals did little more than stare. To Ryuji's shock, not one of the digimon tried to help him and merely continued with their business like he was invisible. Resigning to look down at his feet he only looked up when Buraimon came to a stop.
Gazing around with his blue eyes, he spotted what looked like tents of various colors and sizes but didn't get to look for long as he was pulled into a gray tent by Buraimon. The birdman then unceremoniously chucked him into a cage barely big enough to accommodate him. "Don't expect your partner to find you. He may have my respect as a warrior but without you he is no threat to me. Tomorrow I plan to sell you to the highest bidder so you might want to get some rest. After all there is no guarantee that your new master will be near as benevolent as myself." Buraimon said as he locked the cage and headed into the depths of the tent.
Present
Those words had been rolling around in his head for the last few hours to the point that maybe the Buraimon's words had a point. For three days he hadn't given up that somehow Yoshihiro would catch up and now it looked like his Calumon partner likely wouldn't. Curling up into a ball he turned away from the door of the cage and began to quietly sob.

The Calumon’s plight was definitely something Amelie could empathize with, and it totally justified the small digimon’s regrettable state. The brunette’s expression was swift to turn into an indignant scowl. “Didn’t know that slavers hanged out in this hellhole of all places; guess it makes sense in hindsight though.” She proceeded to shake her head at the question. “I haven’t seen your tamer, but there’s probably not a lot of places where he’s being kept. We could probably fish there pretty quickly, unless you’ve got a better idea.”
As things were, conducting a search was probably what they had to do unless the Calumon was privy to information he hadn’t disclosed thus far. In any case… “I know a bit about this city’s layout. Hung out some time ago with one of its founders. There’s about three underground dens where some pretty shady activities are held. If we can pinpoint where your tamer is, we can intrude there and free him. Should be easy enough. I think.”
Despite everything, the young woman’s tone was even and confident. Even though it had somewhat lost its luster, there was this aura of authority about her that was quite palpable if one heard her speak for a bit. After patting her shoulder a bit, she gestured at the Calumon. “You can hop here for the time being. We probs have quite the trip ahead of us.”
Was that a hint of excitement in her voice? It was hard to tell amid the monotone, but it was hard to deny the notion of something definitely being there.

Seemed like this human had spent some time here in Tenebrous and even mentioned some underground tunnels that such rats like slave traders could not only hide but also probably do the sales of their slaves. Despite the girl's confidence, Yoshihiro wasn't so confident and it showed as he shook before he said "But what if Buraimon has already sold Ryuji? What do I do then? Even if he hasn't been sold there is no guarantee that the next digimon or human will be decent to him." Now the little digimon, who was normally a calm warrior in battle, was frantic to the point that he nearly dropped Ryuji's digivice from his shaking.
A large cactus like digimon came out of the cafe staring down the two in front of his establishment and said "If you are ruffians that intend trouble I suggest you go elsewhere. That behavior may be acceptable in other parts of Tenebrous but it isn't acceptable at my establishment." Then when he got a better look at Yoshihiro he said You poor thing. What's a little guy like you doing in a place like this."
With that Yoshihiro seemed to finally break down but never releasing his death grip on his tamer's digivice as he began crying. Reaching slowly out the Togemon let the emotionally exhausted Calumon snuggle into his boxing glove as he explained how his tamer had been kidnapped by a Buraimon slaver and how he eventually managed to find a Digmon that dropped him off near Tenebrous that supposedly knew a Togemon that ran a cafe. "I know that Digmon. He often handles delivering supplies to me. As for Buraimon, while I didn't see one with a human, slavers often use some of the underground tunnels to not only store but to sell the slaves as well. They sell them in the morning though so there is a good chance that your tamer hasn't been sold yet."
Remembering that the human female had mentioned tunnels, Yoshihiro wiped his eyes and said "You mentioned something about tunnels. Which way? I have to get Ryuji out of that Buraimon's clutches."

From what Amelie could see, the Calumon was undoubtedly not in his best shape. He was trying his best to not succumb to hopelessness and… failing, apparently. Amelie, on the other hand, could only comfort the little digimon the best way she could.
“If he has, then we force Buraimon to talk about the buyer and divulge everything he knows about them or we convince him gently. I’ve been in my fair share of negotiations with shady folks, y’know? You could say I’m rather skilled at that.”
It was then when a Togemon decided he had no better idea than to interrupt the conversation, even though he ultimately empathized with the Calumon’s frayed looks and understood his plight. That was a good thing, in the end! It seemed like the Buraimon’s location was known now, and that meant that the pursuit could begin.
Amelie had pretty much been waiting for the Calumon’s words before a cocky grin made her way to her face, she cracked her knuckles before gesturing underground. “I was wondering when you’d say that. Let’s get your tamer back, little dude.”
Taking some steps back to not collapse the buildings front, Amelie brought her D-Tector, a complex series of fractal code rings enveloping her hand as she spirit evolved. After the short transformation, a creature that no doubt would look at home in this city gestured at the Calumon, as if inviting it to ride on its back. If one could say such a thing had a back. If the Calumon boarded that unlikely horse, he’d feel a heavily distorted version of Amelie’s voice speaking directly into his mind.
We’ll get there in a sec! Hold on tight for the time being though!
Without saying any other words, the digimon rushed forward at a speed that was nothing short of amazing.

Though Yoshihiro wouldn't admit it now, it felt good crying his heart out on Togemon's fist. Not that he was against crying but he wanted to help Ryuji more than that. It seemed Togemon was also more than a crying shoulder as he had also given both him and the human he didn't know the information they needed. As the girl back up and digivolved his green eyes widened. She was a spirit wielder, though to be fair, he should of suspected such given that he didn't see or hear any digimon near her. When she offered to let him ride on her he hoped aboard maybe a little too eagerly but, at the moment, he didn't care.
This evolution was certainly much faster than riding on his tamer's back that was for sure. As a group of tents became visible a flash of white caught the tiny digimon's attention. Jerking his head in the direction the flash of white came from, he spotted a stage in front of the tents causing Yoshihiro to leap off the spirit wielder's back and float toward it.
Soon a digimental became visible at the base of the stage where it seemed the slaves would be shown before they were sold. Approaching the digimental for a better look he took in the segmented appearance. Possibly an insect digimon but what got his attention was the familiar sight of the image of a Calumon's crystal matrix and a Calumon's ears were on the top part of the white egg. "Could this possibly be meant for Ryuji?" he asked as if in awe.
The thought of Ryuji snapped the Calumon back into reality as he gazed around the tents. So many of them so it was likely Ryuji was in one of them. "So many tents. Oh, Ryuji, where are you?" he asked as he floated around his ears wiggling. Hopefully he would hear something that would lead him to his tamer but, even with his excellent hearing, all he heard was silence.

Eventually, the group reached some kind of action stage. Something that’d had made Amelie sick to her stomach… if she had one at the moment, that is. She could sense some energy emanating from the object at the center of the stage, and that was her mind concocted a plan. This would be pretty fun, wasn’t it? Been a while since she had gone relatively wild.
Alright, I think I had an idea. I’ll snatch that Digimental there and then smash the stage down. If your boy’s here, then the commotion will be enough for at least show a glimpse of him. That’s when you sneak out and free him. How does that sound?
Sure, it wasn’t a plan possessing the most finesse, but the brute force approach was probably the quickest and most effective way to get the digimon’s tamer back. Nonetheless, if the Calumon had a better plan or thought that was a bad idea, Amelie would remain still, at least momentarily! Hard to say if she’d do so for a prolonged period of time, considering how much she seemed like she was itching to act. Could she be blamed, though?

"I thought only digimentals could only be claimed by the ones that were destined to wield them. No offense but you aren't exactly a tamer or lone digimon. Judging by the digimental's appearance I would say that it was meant to work for a Calumon." Yoshihiro said as he indicated the ear like decorations and the image of a Calumon's Crystal Matrix with a wave of his paws. He then said "I could hear Ryuji's heartbeat if we were close enough to him. Maybe he is being stashed in one of these many tents. The problem is there are so many that if we aren't lucky this could take all night."
With a sigh, Yoshihiro floated away from the auction stage and toward the tents. His ears wiggled as he passed by each tent. As he passed by a gray tent the sound of soft sobs caught his attention. He recognized those sobs from the times Ryuji had bad nightmares. Not to mention he could hear his tamers heartbeat. Not believing his luck the little digimon floated quietly inside the tent. He didn't know if the spirit wielder would follow him or not because he was more concerned by getting to Ryuji.
As he entered the tent he caught sight of Ryuji with his wrists shackled behind his back and heard the sobs coming from his tamer. It sounded as if he had lost hope and it was gut wrenching. Floating into the cage, this was one time he was glad he was small, he set the digivice next to Ryuji and floated up and whispered "Ryuji."
At first all Yoshihiro got was a faint whimper in response until he placed one of his paws on Ryuji's tear streaked cheek. This caused the teen to roll over looking at Yoshihiro with his eyes red and puffy from crying. Seeing that Ryuji was gagged wasn't an obstacle for an in-training digimon like him as he grabbed it and pulled it off. "Y-Yoshihiro?" Ryuji croaked. It was clear the teen hadn't used his voice much in the last three days.
Yoshihiro placed his paw on Ryuji's cheek again and said "Shh, it's okay. You won't be in that cage long. I just have to find a way to get you out without waking the entire town."

Breathe deeply. Have empathy for the distressed Calumon. Here we go!
Didn’t mean to claim the thingy as mine, y’know? Just making sure it’s safe for the time being. Protecting valuables and stuff; don’t think that chosen Calumons transported the thing to the center of that stage anyway, right?
Apparently most of her plan hadn’t been commented on, which could only mean one thing; there was no strong opposition for it, of course! Since the small white digimon had flown into a very definite direction, then it meant that Amelie herself had a wide range of targets to work with and generate an adequate distraction.
With that in mind, the simplest of outcomes was reached. From one moment to the next, a fire column descended upon one of the nearby tents, where the Calumon had definitely not gone. The flames were seldom harmful, but they sure were showy enough to divert a good deal of the attention to that place. It was hard to guess, but that’d probably give the Calumon and the human partner he had potentially found enough time to engineer an exit.
And if it didn’t? All the better.

Noise erupted outside from other digimon when the spirit wielder unleashed her attack It was so loud one didn't need Yoshihiro's excellent hearing to deduce that. "What the hell is she doing? How is stirring up potential trouble helping?" Yoshihiro asked with a growl. Ryuji glanced at his partner in surprise since this was the first time he had heard the little digimon swear.
Yoshihiro's ears wiggling caused Ryuji's blue eyes to widen as Buraimon started to come into view. Fortunately, Yoshihiro snagged Ryuji's digivice and managed to dive out of sight just outside the cage. Buraimon barely gave Ryuji a passing glance despite the fact that the teen was no longer gagged. He would deal with it later when he found out what all the racket was about.
When Buraimon exited the tent, Yoshihiro floated back into the cage and set the digivice in his tamers lap as Ryuji sat up. With all that racket going on it was doubtful Buraimon would hear what Yoshihiro had in mind anyway. Now that Ryuji had his digivice, though it wasn't in his tamer's hands, Yoshihiro had a feeling that he could digivolve.
It seemed Yoshihiro's assumption was correct as Ryuji's digivice came to life. "Calumon digivolve to Calumon(Rookie Form)." Now in his four foot tall rookie stage, Yoshihiro uncurled his three foot tail channeling energy from the Crystal Matrix on his forehead causing both the red triangle and his tail to glow with power. "Whiplash!" Yoshihiro said as his glowing whip like tail smashed into the lock causing the door of the cage to swing open from the raw force he used. Grabbing Ryuji's arm, he helped his tamer to his feet though the tall human had to duck as they stepped out of the cage. Now Yoshihiro glanced at the shackles binding Ryuji's wrists behind his back. Ryuji nodded as if giving him silent permission to try to remove the shackles he had worn for three days. Channeling much less energy he then said "Whiplash!"
"Yowch!" Ryuji yelped after the shackles around his wrists shattered and he brought his arms in front of him noticing the bruises caused by the attack. Oh well it was better than the shackles he was sporting.
"Sorry, Ryuji, I guess I still channeled to much energy into the attack." Yoshihiro said as he returned to the cage and retrieved Ryuji's almost forgotten digivice and placed it in his tamer's hands.
"Don't worry about it, Yoshihiro. At least you didn't blow my hands off or anything." Ryuji said, his voice still hoarse as he pocketed his digivice.
"Then let's get out of here. There's a digimental not far from this tent. We should try to acquire it before we get out of here." Yoshihiro said as the rookie digimon pulled on his tamer's arm as the two exited the tent and spotted the source of the chaos. Digimon were running around some tending to the fire others looking for the cause of the trouble.

Well, hadn’t that been effective? Amelie could pretty much feel that the ruckus that she had caused was enough to divert the attention of one too many curious digimons and humans alike. All in all, the diversion had been a success! With any luck, the Calumon would be able to sneak in and secure his human while everyone was too confused by the chaotic nature of this event.
So, what’d Amelie do, then? For one, another fiery eruption would erupt from a nearby-yet-far point, further compounding into the bedlam underway. At the same time, the aberration would remain hidden, at a far enough point to be decently-hard to track. Basically, everything was set up in such a way it’d waste the time of whoever was pursuing as much as possible.
What were the odds of them reuniting, anyway? It wasn’t like she had formed a particularly close bond with the Calumon, and it was probably in his best interest to get away as quickly as possible when everything was said than done. Maybe it was smart to just scram after ten minutes or so? That’d be good enough of a headstart for them.

Yoshihiro and Ryuji had barely set foot outside the tent into the chaos when the four foot tall rookie digimon's ears twitched as he picked up the sound of wings flapping. Just as Ryuji was about to ask what was wrong a voice caused the teens words to freeze in his throat. "So, Yoshihiro, it seems you are far more persistent than I give you credit for. You must be a glutton for punishment since the last time we met I defeated you soundly. This time, however, I will not show you the mercy I originally offered. If you want to leave with the boy, you have to defeat me first." Buriamon then unsheathed both of his swords and said "Let's see if you've improved as a warrior since we last met then."
Ryuji dug his digivice out of his pocket knowing Yoshihiro had no chance in his current form against the Buraimon. "Digi Armor.."
Before Ryuji could finish, Yoshihiro interrupted "Ryuji, the digimental is near the auction stage. Don't worry about me, I'll hold him off."
Ryuji wondered if Yoshihiro had lost his mind. While it was true his partner was much more powerful in his rookie form, he was still outclassed in strength by the champion level bird man. Hesitating briefly, Ryuji turned and sprinted for the auction stage. Seeing this Buraimon was about to leap into the air to pursue the seventeen year old but felt something wrap around his wrists binding them together but not forcing the champion digimon to lose his grip on his swords. Looking at Yoshihiro, it seemed the rookie had used his three foot tail to bind his wrists. What was more surprising was that Yoshihiro was pulling on him as if they were involved in a strange game of tug of war.

That had gone better than expected. Amid the chaos, nobody even suspected a digimon that was more-than-well hidden and that, in fact… didn’t need to remain a digimon anymore. From one second to another, Amelie returned back to her human form and gazed around, her intent being to check firsthand if the Calumon and his partner were alright.
It took one look at the stage to recognize a boy running towards it and that, some distance away, the Calumon and a Buraimon were fighting. Well, it seemed like the resolution of this situation would be pretty straightforward. Was it even opportune for her to intervene? Probably not, but where was the fun there?
She ran towards where the confrontation was taking place, and, taking a nearby pebble from the ground, threw it straight into the Buraimon’s head.
“Hey, Birdbrain!” The brunette shouted, her intent to distract her from the Calumon. “Why don’t you mess with somebody of your size? Afraid of getting turned into KFC? Cos I’m sure feeling up to some over here!”
Would that be enough for a distraction? Maybe enough for the male to reach the Digimental? Maybe enough for peeps to get a laugh at it. In any case, it’d be a victory.

The awkward tug of war was brief as Buraimon shook off the now rookie stage Calumon like he were little more than an irritating pest with the four foot digimon hurtling into the ground. Before Buraimon could fly after Ryuji a pebble bounced off his head. Confused momentarily, Buraimon turned in the direction the pebble came from to see a girl and she was yelling insults at him. "Have you lost your mind, girl? Don't you know humans are no match for digimon? I suggest you stay out of my matters before I decide to sell you as well as that boy." Turning in the direction of the auction stage, he said "Speaking of which, the boy should be easy enough to round up since his partner is no match for me."
Yoshihiro clutched his head as he pushed himself to his feet. The rookie looked in the direction of the auction stage seeing Buraimon closing in on Ryuji. "Ryuji, look out!" Yoshihiro shouted causing his tamer to look up just as Buraimon landed in front of him and snatched the teen up by the front of his shirt. He was only a precious few steps from the digimental too.
"Just where do you think you're going? Can't have my merchandise running away and potentially harming himself." Buraimon said with a faked tone of concern causing the seventeen year old to struggle vigorously in the bird man's grip. Before Yoshihiro could intervene something happened that neither digimon expected. Apparently that baggy hoodie had a practical use as Ryuji managed to wiggle out of it and dropped to the ground causing Buraimon to drop the hoodie in surprise. Then before the bird could grab him, Ryuji scrambled over to the digimental and lifted it with ease.
Just as he lifted the digimental Buraimon snagged him by his upper arm but Ryuji didn't drop the digimental. "Yoshihiro, Digi Armor Energize!"
"Calumon(Rookie Form) armor digivolve to Mantismon!" Yoshihiro said and as the light of his digivolution faded a six foot tall and seven foot long white mantis digimon was standing in his place. "Let him go, Buraimon!"
"Demanding pest aren't you? Very well, let's see what you can do little bug." Buriamon said as he threw Ryuji on the ground next to his hoodie which the teen picked up and put on but as he scooted away from the the bird man, Buraimon said "I wouldn't go too far human. After all, there are digimon around here more dangerous than myself."
