HUMAN TAMER Name: Shohei Shinoda Alias: Sho Age: 17 Gender: Male Height: 5'10" Weight: 149 lbs Alignment: Chaotic Good Birth Date: March 22nd Western Horoscope: Aries Birth Place: Enbetsu, Hokkaido, Japan Skills/Talents:- Gastronomy - Growing up in a large family, Shohei learned the ins and outs of a kitchen from his older sister, and often helped her and his mother prepare meals for the family. He's experimented with a couple of dishes before, to varying degrees of success, but practice eventually makes perfect, right?
- Agronomy - Since part of the family business was farming rice paddies, Shohei was expected to perform tasks related to agriculture and cultivation. He finds the work to be a chore, and would rather skip out on it, but still knows enough on the subject to perform it on his own.
- Animal Husbandry - The other portion of their income, and possibly the most lucrative, was raising livestock. While the family mainly raised sheep for wool and food, they also assigned Shohei and his brother Souma to watch over the small chicken coup the family had for their own private use. Between the sheep, the chickens, and the herding dogs they owned, Shohei has a fair amount of practice for the caring of animals.
Backpack Contents:- Notepad and pens
- Cellphone
- ....It's honestly pretty empty.
Digivice: A regular D-3 with orange-colored sides.
Appearance: As pictured below, Shohei is a somewhat tall, but seemingly thin individual with bleached hair and eyes the color of amber. Despite how frail he may look, he's roughly as in-shape as your average farm hand, excluding his infrequent napping. Shohei seems perpetually happy, sporting a goofy grin everywhere he goes, which also leads people to believe he's an absolute moron, which is a stereotype his laid-back demeanor, his relaxed way of speaking, and his northern bumpkin accent only encourages. His plain clothes do nothing to bring attention to himself, which is just the way he likes it.
Personality: More often than not, people mistake Shohei for an idiot. In actuality, he's a relatively intelligent boy who is beyond lazy. Shohei is the type of slacker who wastes his energy coming up with the most efficient way to solve a problem. He gets relatively above average grades without ever opening his high school's text books, instead just learning from the in-class lectures. He also rarely ever does his homework, and therefore earns the ire of his school's staff. His lack of effort stems from his fear of eventually having to work his family's fields full-time, until the day he dies, which is the last thing he wants to do. He doesn't have any other plans though, as he doesn't want to get his hopes up about a different career, only to be stuck back on the farm.
Shohei's ceaseless joy, despite his predicament, comes from his ability to minimalize effort and his learned enjoyment of life. He's very grateful for his family, who he loves and is loved by in turn, and also for the simple things in life, like the taste of a freshly cut pineapple or the wonder instilled by the shapes of clouds overhead. His happiness even extends further beyond that to his small collection of friends, a strange assortment of not-quite classic archetypes. He's very compassionate, and is willing to help those he can, despite his relative disdain of hard labor.
Personal History: Our story begins in the small town of Enbetsu, in the pregnancy wing of the local hospital. Shohei Shinoda was born on the 22nd of March, to Kenzo and Mayu Shinoda, a married couple who lived close by on their rice paddy farm. He was the fifth child of the family, and yet still not the youngest, as his parents would go on to have a set of twins after him. The family of nine lived in relative peace on the outskirts of the city, tending to their crop. After one devastating drought, however, they decided to also add livestock to the mix, in an effort to recup their losses, and luckily found it to be a prosperous gambit come winter.
By the age of 10, Shohei was already learning the basic tasks that helped to keep their farm running, and also volunteered himself for cooking duty. His family held relatively basic views of gender roles, but only ended up having one daughter, and with nine people in the household, Shohei's help was very welcome. As he grew older, more and more responsibility was put upon himself and his siblings, which most of them loathed, but Shohei especially found irritating. This was in part due to his father beginning to feel the real effects of aging, but also because the family business expanded to include the sheep, and a small number of hens and roosters. At age 12, he and his older brother Souma were tasked with taking care of them while the rest of the family focused solely on the crops and livestock. It made sense in Shohei's mind that Souma, the eldest son, was in charge of the family food source, but why was he there? Souma seemed to have a handle on the chore, and usually let Shohei slack off and rest a bit.
He soon learned, however, that he was supposed to be learning in order to take charge on his own. At age 14, he found out too late that his brother wouldn't be around much longer, being lucky enough to secure a scholarship for a university in Kyoto, leaving Shohei as the sole caretaker of the poultry. Strangely enough, he initially felt the act of leaving was a betrayal of the family and himself personally. He believed the family needed Souma, that he was the one who would eventually take over the farm once their father grew too old, but instead, he was off to study marine biology. While Shohei eventually got over that, he began to harbor a deep seated anxiety of being stuck with all the farm duties as each of his family members left. So far though, no other sibling has left the farm yet, but the dread remains.

DIGIMON PARTNER Digimon Name: Yukimura Default Form: Hyokomon Gender: Male Alignment: Lawful Neutral Fighting Style: In his early stages, Yukimura is an unbeatable warrior, between his haunting stare and his soft feathers, most foes completely surrender to his martial prowess. Upon reaching his Rookie stage, he begins his training in mastering the forms of combat utilized by the samurai.
Skills/Talents:- Composition & Poetry - Yukimura is not only a warrior, but he's also a poet. He regularly writes haiku and compelling short stories using japanese calligraphy.
- Etiquette - Yukimura is a master at the various forms of societal conventions and norms, especially those befitting a follower of the Bushido code.
- Acuity - Not much gets past the Chick digimon. He's attentive to details, and usually knows when something is off about a situation.
Inventory:- Mulberry Paper
- Inksticks
- An Inkstone
- A Brush
- Scroll Cases
- A short Kiseru
Personality: Simply put, Yukimura is just an absolute unit. For a Rookie level digimon, he's quite mature and disciplined. However, to keep up that aspect of his identity, he takes it to the point of stoicism and sternness. He is not one to leave himself vulnerable to attacks, and especially not one to leave himself emotionally vulnerable either. Despite that, he can be rather considerate and sometimes even compassionate to friends, so long as they aren't slacking on their duties.
Yukimura believes that everyone has a destiny to fulfil, and predetermined role in life. Therefore, he's not one to goof off, and always takes situations as seriously as possible. He always seeks to live up to his own potential, and while that gives him a powerful determination, he generally expects others to follow his example. He absolutely dislikes those who ignore or refuse to live up to their fate. That's not to say that he hates the weak and disenfranchised, just ones with the means to rise out of their circumstances and take hold of their life.
Yukimura is not one to relax, and speculates that waiting and doing nothing not only dulls one's senses, but taxes their sanity as well; Idle hands are the devil's tools, or so he says.
Personal History: Yukimura has no memories of his past life or lives, if he had them. All he knows is that he hatched somewhere in the Blossom Isles, and grew up in a group of young ones. None of these baby digimon showed any sign of familial relationship, and yet Yukimura still considered them to be his family, his "brothers and sisters". Due to Yukimura believing himself to be the oldest among them, he matured quickly as to take care of his family, finding them food and safe places to stay. Before long, though, roughly half of this family had reached the Rookie stage, and some sought adventure and experiences. Some left to find it, and some stayed behind to take care of the others.
Yukimura wished he had the nonchalant nature of his siblings, allowing him to travel the world like those who left, but he felt as though he couldn't leave his remaining family unattended. Instead, he did his best working in the city known as Sakura Vale, finding lodgings and sources of nourishment for his younger brothers and sisters. He longed for the chance to prove himself, only amplified by the stories he found and read of heroic, wandering samurai digimon. As the tight-knit family eased into the comforts of city living, it became increasingly obvious to the others that Yukimura dreamed of the day he would take the first steps to his personaly journey. With all their needs met, and them no longer requiring the protection of their older brother, they pleaded with Yukimura to live his life how he wanted. Yukimura was hesitant about leaving his family behind, but eventually relented, as the allure of adventure was too strong for him to ignore.
Ergo, like the stories of heroic samurai he'd come to adore, his own pilgrimage began.
