It was near dawn again; the third dawn as far as he could count. It was a weird segment to develop so quickly; his mind before had been nothing but blurry emotions and thoughts that he couldn't understand. They had come; they had gone and had left him wanting.
But then his digivolution to Exo-Viximon had changed a lot of things, altered his perception. Increased his spatial awarness; he became better. Stronger. Fitter. Stranger. To the others they required rest; they required substinance more than he did. He had a mouth, he had basic needs. He needed food water and air... but not as much perhaps?
He found that the swanmon's were fairly adept at caring for their children, helping him and teaching him how to walk. How to run. How to talk. He found his voice strangely robotic. There was nothing awkward about it; just strange. He wanted to know more and they taught him things. Things on the second day.
Now it was the third; now he had the ability to look around. This form felt fast; energetic. Wanting. But it also felt like he needed more... Something. So he explored, he found food, he found friends. Fast and few inbetween. He didn't really understand how either worked with his metal body.
But then another evolution came on that third day, pushing him into existance proper. Then came his broken digivice, with tooth, nail and keys of some strange place. The swanmon's baffled and not understanding his questions. He had nothing that he could do. Nowhere to go. So he sat and thought things over. Thought things through.
It just befuddled him. This strange little robot was what he was; but it felt wrong somehow. He felt like he should be taller; squisher. Maybe he had been a regular gabumon previously? It was hard to know. Everything was a blur. He was a blur. It hurt to think about it that way. So he didn't bother with it. He just let it be.
It made him hungry to think, to move. To breathe. To do all these things. So he started to eat. Chomping and munching away at the edge of the rest of the children who were busy listening and learning. He needed to think; he needed to proccess. So he moved away. Found a place near the edge of the village where he could watch the others and ease his burden of thought.
It really didn't help but now he wasn't hungry anymore...

She had always heard stories about this place, The Village of Beginnings. A warm atmosphere in both climate and emotion. Having grown up in Luminas however this was Raimei's first time seeing the place for herself. The ground was soft, but unlike dirt. The checkered green squares decorating the floor looked like it beloved on a knitted blanket, too. Large building blocks dominated the landscape between trees decorated with various toys.
A part of Raimei felt that she didn't belong here, like she was trespassing. It was a strange feeling of unease, and she wasn't sure what to attribute it to. Possibly her strict upbringing in a militant Luminas. The blackgabumon carefully made her way through the outer edge of the village, mindful to not step on any of the toys on the ground. She lacked a purpose for this visit aside from curiosity, but something on the gentle wind had intrigued her. There was a strange scent on the breeze, one that didn't strike any recognition for Raimei.
After rounding the corner around a comically large plush pyramid block she spotted a digimon that looked as much out of place as it did foreign to her. Different shades of blue dominated the strange digimon's color palette. Its artificial aesthetic probably meant it was part of the metal empire family too she guessed. Not too far off and within eyesight a Swanmon busied itself with other children. Raimei approached the strange digimon from the side. She purposely stepped on a squeaky ball to announce herself hoping it'd be less startling than calling out to the robotic stranger.
"Hey there, not-so-little-fella. It's kind of hard to hear the swanmon from over here, don't you think?"

It's been some time since Malik had been here. Most of the Digimon he knew had already digivolved and set out on their own adventures. Still, visiting this place was always nostalgic. He was more confident now, but it was difficult for him to speak to people he didn't know. Maybe there was someone here he could talk to and even help out if he could.
He had come a long way from when he was reborn here. Back then he was a scared young digimon with fragile self-esteem. To a degree, he still had much to work on, but he was proud of his progress. He looked at the various Digimon and smiled as the new Digimon played and listened to stories.
Then, there was a strange sight. A mechanical Digimon that was something he had never seen before in all his studies. As he approached, he noticed that a BlackGabumon had decided to approach the Digimon as well. He waited for a moment, before he walked forward to make himself known. Was the Digimon lonely? He knew that feeling..."E-Excuse me." He said. The little Lopmon didn't look too out of place in the Village, but he seemed to have an air of experience from all his travels so far. "Is everything okay over here? I'm sorry to assume, but you seemed...to be thinking about something." He said to the mechanical Digimon.
Upon realizing he hadn't introduced himself, he bowed nervously to both Lance and Raimei "M-my name is Malik. Nice to meet you both." As much as he tried to seem approachable he struggled with his nervous stutter "If there's anything either of you need...you can ask me. If not, I could...spend time and listen if there's anything you want to talk about."

Maybe he should have stayed with the group. Maybe he should have at least talked to them; but their muffled voices and strange looks didn’t sit right with him. Lance couldn’t help but look down at his hands; staring at them unblinkingly for a long few moments. He barely heard the approach of Rai and only was brought out of his stupor by the fact that she stepped on a squeaky ball. His head jerked and he’d look towards the sound; his core whirring as though to spool unimagined weapons.
Nothing really happened after that other than him just staring quietly at the mon in front of him. His pose and nature screamed that he was once a fighter of some kind. One foot slightly forward, the other back. His arms spread evenly but eventually lowering to pose less of a threat. He was startled by that noise and startled further by seeing a mon he hadn’t before. Or at least seeing a variant of one he hadn’t. Which was ironic given the fact he was practically a one of a kind himself.
”...A little bit. But that’s the point. I wasn’t listening to what they were saying before anyways.”
The robotic tang to his voice was noticeable; thankfully it wasn’t so deep that it was garbled like some but it sounded strange to lance. Some of his mannerisms didn’t translate to this form; biting the inside of his mouth being one of them since it didn’t reach in the same way as organic flesh and blood did. So instead he’d just clink his jaw together.
Then there was another person that approached; lance blinked a bit and turned his head to what seemed to be… was that a lopmon? He had seen a few here; most of them were older and well most of them were also really chipper and friendly. Caretakers for sure. This one must have been a visitor given how he spoke.
”...I am. Or was rather.”
The thoughts that had been ever present just a few moments ago felt far far away; which wasn’t so much a bad thing since just going for them over and over wouldn’t do him any good. His memories seemed like mush and his thoughts towards them probably wouldn’t accomplish much more than irritability. At the bow lance blinked and he’d hesitantly do the same.
”Mine’s Lance. I’m… not entirely sure what I could share or talk about. I’m still trying to sort out this-”
Lance would motion to himself, frowning a little bit. Though that was another thing that didn’t translate well on his features. A slight shift of gears and he could feel his jaw lowering just a little bit. Maybe making him look a little more frustrated than anything else.
”Everything’s a bit hazy, mushy. Muddled. Don’t feel quite right here but also don’t really know where I’d feel right either. Like I've done this before but somehow haven't...”

At the stranger's admittal that he hadn't even been listening to the swanmon, Raimei felt a bit clueless. Wasn't it the swanmon's duty to instruct the young digimon? Or was this mechanical mon beyond these early lessons already?
"I see," was the lame response she managed as her gaze turned back to the group nearby.
Another stranger appeared, this time a lopmon, asking if the blue robot was okay. Raimei wondered for a moment if these two knew each other, but that notion vanished when Malik hastily introduced himself shortly after.
"I'm Raimei," she answered back with a polite bow of her head, "nice to see another friendly face. I'm alright myself, just playing tourist really."
Lance had a lot more to say than she did, but Raimei certainly could empathize with his words after her self imposed exile from Luminas. The feeling of being out of place, but not knowing where else to go.
"It sounds to me like your journey is ready to begin," offered the blackgabumon softly to Lance. "I wasn't born here, though; that's just what I decided to do when I felt like that before. Travel until you do find that place where you belong. I'm still looking, but the world's a big place." She shrugged her shoulders before glancing to the lopmon.
"What about you, Malik? If you were born here, do you remember how you felt when you left?"

Malik tilted his head slightly. Lance was trying to sort things out with himself, and that was something that Malik understood completely. "...yes. I understand." He said with a slow nod. "When I first woke up, I felt the same way. Lost. Confused. Unsure. I spent much time alone just...thinking about who I was...and if I wanted to even figure that out..."
Though he tried his best to smile "Lance...there is a lot of time to learn. A lot of time to figure that out. Sometimes that's not a question one can answer by themselves, and a question that can't be answered in a short while..." He said, giving his own opinions and experiences on the matter. "It took me a long time...to come to terms with myself." He approached slowly to get closer. "I understand what you're going through...so...I hope I can be a friend to you."
He nodded at Raimei "I was born here...as far as I can tell, my data was really badly scrambled when it returned here. Many of my memories were jumbled or outright...gone. When I left...it was only after someone encouraged me to see the world and make my own experiences in this life. I felt regret because I didn't even try to make friends...I was too scared to. Leaving can be scary, but one day we must if we want to see our world with our own two eyes. each lifetime is a new experience...nothing will ever be the same as the last...and I think that's exciting."
He shuffled around nervously "Sorry...I rambled. It really is nice to meet you two. I hope we can all get along."
