...or Other's Lack Thereof (tridoriyaku)

Vetina had waited on the bench she met Yaku for the first time. She waited patiently for the human to eat his lunch here, hoping the human had a good day. She had performed his errands the previous day, and some quick examination and stalking had revealed Yaku's superior to her. After some...persuasion last night, she hoped he would change his attitude and was a little nicer to the employees... ---
This old man certainly could scream. If his mouth wasn't covered he would have possibly drew in some attention. While it was a tight fit, the man's house was large enough for the Blossomon to cram herself in with minimum damage to his place. To the man, this... "flower monster" had threatened to devour this man because "his evil malevolence smelt of sweet delicatessen." Said while she slowly licked him.
The man begged, prayed, urinated, and cried, promising he would do better. That he would be a good person. As part of the act, the monster claimed this change of heart was making him smelled weird, and left him alone.
Was fun. Would do again.
----
Vetina hoped she had done a good job with all she did yesterday. But she wouldn't know unless Yaku came.

Yaku approached the park, his day having been more confusing than the last. Apparently he'd woken up early to see his company on the news, his boss having had his house broken into and he having been assaulted. When asked, the police insisted that he, in an attempt to cope with the stress, created a scenario in his mind as a mental block. The thought of it being Vetina left his mind at the revelation of his boss screaming it was a "flower monster". As he got to work, he was introduced to his new boss, practically the same as his old boss, but didn't harbor a personal grudge against Yaku. This meant less overtime and a lower chance of anything bad happening to him. In order to "help them cope" he'd decided to give them the weekend off, citing his former's breakdown as an example of "near-koroshi".
As he approached the bench, he blinked at seeing his newest friend present, bowing in greeting her. "It is good to see you again, Vetina."

Vetina smiled as she saw Yaku arrive, and our of curtosy, bowed back to him while remaining seated down on the bench. "Likewise to you, pal. I trust your day had some relatively mild qualities, I would hope?" Unlike the human, Vetina had not seen the news. In fact she has been sleeping in a tree she had planted in the closest forest a while back... it was nice that it was still there.
By her seat she pulled up a bag of food. Takeout she had gotten, with rice and various sides. Almost too much for a woman Vetina's size to eat. Were Vetina an actual human, that is.
"I also hope the errand was flawlessly performed, to your specifications."

"Thanks... pity about my boss though... apparently he'd been assaulted in his own home. The police had to drag him to the ambulance... My new boss thinks he went crazy but I don't think that's it... no disrespect to him, of course. He gave us the weekend off as a result, though." He opened his lunch, getting ready to enjoy it. "...You've packed quite a lot for yourself... were you expecting someone to join?" He asked, his wife having packed him different types of sushi and rice. "Thank you, by the way. Thank you for delivering those things in on time, even if I still had to do some work in the end." As the man began his lunch, he sighed softly, his interest peaking.
"...My boss was screaming about a "Flower Monster" on the news... was he really cracking up or are one of your friends... similar to that?"

After thinking back on her act last night as Tridori related to her what he saw on the news, he asked about the amount of food she had. "Occasionally Hyperactive metabolism. It's fairly rare of a kind to my body, even to be compared to other digimon, and I can gain and lose spare tires with little effort." She began to eat. "But I strive to keep a sliver of rubber around me, just in case."
He eventually went back to the incident, asking if the one who scared his boss was anyone Vetina knew. She chuckled. "I know not any beasts of Flora... save for one... sister of sorts. Minor bond. Anyway, I was the flower monster. While I command the aqua in my form, my others take the counteances of plants. No harm was laid on him.
You needed some relief, no? I only inflicted the scare the crooked out of the crook."

He looked confused at her explanation, before accepting it as a metaphor and moving on. "...You broke into my boss's house? You tried to eat him? You turned into a plant?" His mind was filled with questions, all of them unable to come out, aside from those three.
As he looked at her eat he saw her point about spare tires, his mind going places he quickly shamed himself for thinking of. Sighing, he readied himself for his own meal, worried about his future with this mad woman. Would he end up in prison? Would his mind be wiped? Would his he find police knocking on his door and asking him questions he really couldn't answer? Out of all the emotions known for himself, the strongest of them was guilt. He would never be able to apologize to his boss without incriminating himself and making the issue worse. He'd never be able to get the man's life back on track again, and he'd never regain his fumbled karma. Karma was going to be swift and brutal, and whatever it was going to be, it wouldn't be fun.
Maybe he should stay home this weekend. Sure, he'd still be affected, but at least his wife would be there to help him cope.

Vetina kept on eating, answering the three questions he managed to get out of his mouth in between bites of her food. More questions... well, she dealt with them.
"Indeed, I tresspassed on his property. The carnivorous threats were empty bluffs, however. Consumption of humanity is not a desirable taste for my palate. I mentioned before I fly no banner of justice, but a friends misery must be relieved. Impart on me *some* trust in my intentions. I *don't* harm humans on a humbug, off principal. Your boss will recover, shaken, but deserved the effect.
You're timid, apolgetic. Being a doormat has not brought you much positivity. It's your aura. I understand that but..."
She sighed and shook her head, almost looking as if she was slowly falling into depression. "I'm not proper sans weird. It's...me. My being. It is not unpleasing to me, no no, I admire this being I am. But it aids me little in meaningful companionship, I understand... just say you no longer request my company, Yaku, and it shall be done. I'll be gone from you..."

"I... no, I'm just..." She'd know by now that his emotions were as easily manipulated as a wet paper plate. "I was just... please don't do that again... he was a jerk, but now I'm going to feel guilty about this... I can't even apologize right..." He sighed. "Do you think he knew what a digimon was? Or anything about you?" He asked, continuing his meal... "Also... I get the weekend off... perhaps... well, maybe you could show me that "Digital World" you were talking about... or I could introduce you to my wife. I'm sure she'd like you... just, don't... you know, show her. I don't think her heart could take it." He explained. "...Do you have any ideas?" He asked, hoping to try and rekindle their friendly relationship. He'd rather not lose his only friend two days after meeting her.

"I'm certain no elevated suit like him knew of Digimon. Scared him too good. But, while I can offer no promises, it will neither be a thing of high regularity. You've my word."
Her disposition lightened up a bit. She had no intentions of manipulating him. Still, with recent events of her life happening, even a digimon as strange as Vetina can feel down in the dumps. At least, like Yaku, she didn't lose a friend either.
"I'm somewhat hesitant to meet your mate. You shan't be deserving of false accusations of infedelity. But... an introduction to my realm might prove of interest. At least for remaining inside Terminus. It's a city, fairly familiar in form, umfamiliar in inhabitants, to humans for the most part. But humans do walk there. You needn't lay your presence there for extended periods, either. Just maintain... low levels of jitteryness. '

"Alright... but what to tell my wife? I can't simply brush her off after my employer went through all that..." He thinks, keeping silent as he examined the options, as well as tried to imagine this "Terminus City" she'd brought up... wait, humans? Humans lived in the digital world, alongside these unusual and whimsical creatures? Or where they visitors, like he? Ones who had made unusual friendships with the natives and been invited? How long had this been going on? Had he stumbled into a world of fiction, of a world beyond the veil that has been shaping humanity for as long as humanity has existed?
"Tell me more about the Digital World, and the other Digimon who live there... Also, what kind of humans? Surely they must be older or wiser than me. I can't imagine most taking this discovery and keeping it silent..."

"I'll keep the hours of length short. You can tell your mate...something... it's to be figured out later. Maybe relay the need to walk about.
The humans there average younger, and average is to be stressed, as older ones are about as well. And the digimon, with their own species based quirks, many have a personality that run a loose parallel to yours. Mind you, digimon of a more beastial nature also exist, but lean to the wilderness as stomping grounds. The city... is comparitively safe to this city we now stand in. Take what you will from that. Barring visual take ins, shouldn't be a difficult time to get used to."
Vetina went back to eating her food after looking around. However, while she did plan to reveal her Palmon form, there were others near enough to out too much risk on Yaku's shoulders. She wouldn't drop her costume in public.
"Also... not keep it silent? Don't be daft, you know the consequences and potential of knowledge of my world to this world."

"...Children? You bring children to this world? A world of creatures with powers beyond our own? A world where they can be torn to pieces by complete accident on a whim of a creature larger than them? That doesn't make any sense!" He said, only keeping calm enough to balance his meal on his lap. After a hort pause to calm himself down he looked at her.
"So... it's similar to this city? Are you sure it will be worth the trip?" He asked, inquisitively. "No offence ma'am, but I don't see the point in going to a city that is going to be the same as mine, to the point of speaking the same language..."
"...And I will do my best to keep silent about it, I assure you."

Vetina shook her head once Yaku expressed concern over children being in the digital world.
"The information you are receiving from me is a fraction, albeit also a bare minimum for someone like you. It's not a case of "coerced invitations", I assure you. There is a certain... dynamic between our species. As if a lottery, a digimon, or more, is tired to a human. In fact, some digimon begin life here. And the binding symbol is a device... a Digivice, it's forms unique in set purpose. This lottery, true to form and out of anyone's hands, skews towards younger humans. I'm not bound in such a way, and I assume neither are you. You are merely a guest. What course the children ride, human or digimon, post binding is their choice. Many choose to make the trek.
But digimon bound to humans protect them. They can amass power over time. But many form a close bond. Not marriage by another connotation, but a strong bond nonetheless. But, humans and digimon are snowflakes, and chemistry can vary.
Also, trust my words, the cities run a loose parallel in similarity. Loose parallel, not a Xerox. Would I find myself here, in a change of tempo, in a world where the safer route is a holographic facade as a body mask, were the two lands exact? Would be no purpose."
Vetina finished her food, placing the trash in the proper recepticle. She then patted her belly, a little larger than before, as she sighed happily.
"Regardless, keep this hush, hush. "

"So... children are brought to the Digital World and they... live there? Explore it? I... does anyone report these children missing? How many of them return, with their Digimon or without? I apologize for the questions and if you cannot answer them... It just seems that... nevermind... I assure you, I won't tell... it'd end just as poorly for me as it would for you." He said, remembering a story one of his co-workers forwarded to him about a series of unfortunates who were experimented upon in prison... and how, knowing his luck, he'd probably end up being the one with the worst punishment.
"And... I see your point. I'll give it a try... who knows, maybe it'll be fun... and I promise you, not a soul will know."

"Some explore, adventure, or live there. But I would not be able to glean if anyone, children to adults, would be rendered criminally absent here. I'm only a singular digimon. Would I be of reason asking you of *every* reason *every* human chooses another domicile and expect more than you'd naturally be able to reply?
With no effort I can provide information to you. But inquire of me statistics and you'll get nothing of it from me, ill-equipped to deliver any."
Vetina got up, preparing to leave, but still had something to say.
"But, you can inquire such personal information from humans there at your discretion. Trek down along Shibuya River at approximately 2 PM on your day off. Fear not danger, I'll ensure saftey on your person. And your day can book end with your wonderful wife. Hope to see you, Yaku."
She began to walk off, humming something to herself. Boy did be ask many questions...
