A lone Pteramon flew haphazardly through Western Flatlands; there was a measure of desperation as it struggled with a small, ball-shaped stowaway that was fiercely holding onto the digimon's neck by clamping her jaws onto it. As far as things looked, they’ve held that stalemate for quite a while. It was only when the winged digimon began diving down that any signs of a resolution began to show.
The landing wasn’t graceful at all, but the concussive force had proven to be enough for the MameTyramon to finally ease its hold; those moments were seized by the Pteramon, who took to the skies and flew as quickly as possible and promptly left the confrontation.
As adrenaline left MameTyramon’s body, its form began to undo, leaving an injured, exhausted, and unmoving aqua-haired girl sprawled in the ground.
Junko wasn't the type of person that considered herself lucky or anything, but her current situation was nothing short of completely ridiculous. How things had turned this way was completely beyond her comprehension, and that was in the remote possibility she even considered trying to understand what was going on. Right now, all the brainpower she could muster was being used to contemplate the Digital World’s orange-ish evening sky.
“Fuck my life…” Blackness slowly enveloped her mind as her eyes closed. One thing was for sure; the teenager had seen better days. It’d take her a while to wake up.

It had taken a while for her to notice, but there was an alligator on the train.
Well... She wasn't sure it was an alligator. It was big, red, lizard. It kind of looked like a dinosaur, but Elly was told that all the dinosaurs were all dead or that they all got magically turned into birds or something. So it couldn't be a dinosaur. It was an alligator. When she noticed the alligator, it glanced over to her, then back to reading the newspaper it was holding. Elly didn't know that alligators read newspapers. Elly didn't even know that people still read newspapers. But apparently they did, because there was one reading it right now.
But Elly heard that alligators liked to eat people, so she decided to get off the train as soon as possible. And then she ran away as fast as she could. It was getting late into the day, apparently, and she had to get home. But she didn't recognize this place at all. The last thing she remembered was trying to get onto the train home, but she must have gotten lost. The signs at the station were in English, but she couldn't follow the maps very good.
So while Elly was running, she tripped over something. She tumbled to the ground, and she felt a stinging sensation in her knee. She looked down and saw that it was red and scraped now. It hurt a lot, and tears started to form in her eyes. But through her clouded vision she saw what she had tripped over. A blue-haired unconscious girl that looked hurt. And she wasn't moving. Elly felt her face. She wasn't cold so that meant she was still alive, she thought, though Elly wasn't a doctor person.
But when something like this happened, you were supposed to call for help, right? But Elly didn't have a phone, 'cause papa said that she would lose or break it. And if she screamed for help, the red alligator might hear her and come back on from the train. Oh, but all the other girls in Elly's class had phones, so maybe this girl would have a phone, too! So Elly began to search through the girl's pockets and belongings for her cell phone.
This was a brilliant idea that could in no way backfire for her!

Junko’s time in the nebulous realm of unconsciousness wasn’t a gentle —or restful— one. Truth was that this day had thoroughly sucked for her, for the lack of a better word, and this moment of respite wasn’t any different; she was unmoving, but her expression wasn’t relaxed in the slightest. It was almost as even ‘sleeping’ made her angry!
Luckily for the person who had stumbled upon her, she initially not aware enough to notice how somebody literally tripped on her as if she were an obstacle in a track race or something. Similarly, and besides a slight feeling of discomfort, the teenager didn’t react at all when her face was felt.
However, what was undoubtedly felt and might’ve been an act of recklessness was when the blonde decided to more thoroughly inspect Juni’s clothes. Depending on how thoroughly the search was, the smaller girl would probably be able to find anything ranging from a wallet, a phone, and a funny-looking reddish-colored device with teal grips.
The search, however, had its cost. Slowly, Junko’s eyes opened; when they did, they immediately bore into the circumstantial… thief? Least to say, if looks could kill, the poor girl would already be dead on the floor. “T’fuck ya think ya doin’, brat!?” She snarled. Even though her voice was hoarse, the tone still managed to be fairly threatening. “Ya have five seconds t’explain yerself ’fore ya lose half yer teeth.”
As dire as that threat could manage to sound, ironically, it was ultimately… toothless. When the teenager tried to stand up, she found herself falling back into the ground due to the sharp jolt of pain that coursed through her whole body; it seemed like that small altercation had its costs, and that she hadn’t fully recovered from them yet.
“Shit.”

It didn't take Elly too long to find the unconscious girl's phone. Her eyes lit up as she grasped it! She felt around, trying to press all the buttons she could find on it. Papa never let her have a phone, so she never used a phone other than their house phone. She had no idea what she was going to find. Was is password protected, or did it just go straight to her phone's wallpaper? Welp, regardless, not long after Elly had grasped the unconscious girl's phone, the unconscious girl was no longer unconscious.
She gave her a threatening glare and some words that were enough to intimidate any seven-year-old child, let alone poor Elly. She had threatened to knock out her teeth, and Elly didn't need any help with that so far. There were plenty of her teeth naturally falling out as it was. Her legs immediately buckled under the pressure as she fell onto her rear, but even though her body showed a clear fearful response, her face was another story.
Instead, her face glared back at the blue-haired girl with an angry-looking scowl. It was her default face, really, but it grew even more intense when she got scared. She was saying some words but she the little girl couldn't understand Japanese very well, plus the girl had some kind of accent. Oh, but she understood the last word she said. It was a swear word that her classmates would use a lot. She covered her mouth as if she were the one that just said it.
Elly was silent for a while, but she finally answered once she got her wits about her. "Hurt... Call... 911..." She managed to nervously mumble, in English. The fact that 911 wasn't a thing outside of her home country (let alone another world) didn't even occur to her, but it was all the little girl knew.

While the phone was both easily accessible and the device didn’t possess any kind of lock screen, the blonde would probably run into a couple of problems; the first one being that —besides the cute wallpaper— everything else on the phone would probably be unintelligible, given the language was most likely on the alien side to her. The second? That the device had no signal at all, even though being unfamiliar with mobiles meant she probably wasn’t aware of that one.
Nonetheless, the situation had turned pretty tense pretty fast; it wasn’t hard for Junko to discern the small girl had been scared shitless despite her apparent ‘brave’ facade. She also got after some moments that the girl didn’t seem to understand Japanese all that well.
“Freakin’ ferners, man. I swear.” The teenager huffed under her breath. Truth to be told? Her English wasn’t the best, but at least was on the somewhat understandable side. Bad side? Trying to sound threatening in a language you weren’t fluent at was a lot harder, given the additional brainpower required to make sense.
“That ain’t gonna work, brat.” It was still heavily accented, but at least somewhat (?) understandable. At the very least, she was glad she knew what 911 was from watching one of those cheesy detective shows when she was a kid. “There ain’t no service here. Wherever t’hell we are, anyway.”
She just felt inhumanly sore right now, but that wasn’t going to stop her in a situation like this one. It took her a fair bit more effort in the second try, but at least she began to incorporate. A bit. “Take ya don’t know this place either, do ya?” Maybe they could be lucky and the brat knew anything about this crazy place, but Junko wasn’t holding her breath for that one.
“Still want my phone back, tho. Can’t say I appreciate m’stuff randomly taken from me, y’know?” It was true that her tone was a bit more conciliatory now, but that was partly because she probably wouldn’t be able to give chase to anyone running away from her at full speed. Not like this, at least.

The blue-haired girl was trying her best to speak Elly's language, however accented it might be. It sounded like... they were both lost. And that the phone was broken or something. Elly gulped before handing it back to her. "Sorry..." She said, in Japanese this time. It was one of the few words she could pronounce properly. And it was one that she had to say a whole bunch.
She was clearly in pain, though, and Elly thought she had something for that. If she couldn't call for an ambulance, the next best thing was in her pocket! She reached in and pulled out a small white bottle of pills. Children's Tylenol, to be precise. Probably not enough to make a difference, but it was all the little girl had to offer. She had been having tummy-aches recently, so papa gave her the entire bottle and told her not to take it all at once. "You are hurt... make feel good?" She offered the bottle to the strange foul-mouthed girl. Whether she took it or not, Elly wasn't sure how to explain how she got here.
"Ah... um... train. Bad train. Very bad train..." She tried to explain to the best of her ability, using as much Japanese as she could while being forced to use English for the rest. And sadly, she couldn't say anything about the red alligator because she hadn't the slightest clue how to verbally express that one!

Progress was… progress, all things considered. The girl didn’t doubt snatching her phone back and storing it wherever it was before its theft. “Jus’ don’t try t’pull that crap again.” She huffed again. Maybe she was being too rough with what amounted to a scared kid, but… given everything that had transpired through the day, her ability to display patience was greatly hindered.
And that was without having in account the precarious situation the girls were in. Sure, cursing at her own misfortune was somewhat cathartic, but unless Junko got up and actually did something, chances are that she’d end up not being able to even do that. The teenager sighed, then grunted before finally adopting a sitting posture. “Fuckin’ hell.” Swearing was probably best done in Japanese anyway. Felt a lot more satisfying that way.
As the sky above the pair continued to darken, the woman eyed the bottle offered to her for two seconds or so before taking it. All in all, that had been pretty kind. “Thanks. Ya don’t seem that bad… for a brat, I guess.” Flipping the bottle’s label, Indications were skimmed through until she got to the dosage; a hundred and sixty milligrams per pill, huh…
She took out six pills outta the bottle and swallowed them without thinking twice before handing the bottle back to the small blonde. “That’s probs takin’ a while t’take effect, ’nyway. We should get goin’, unless ya fancy stayin’ in a dumpster like this place.”
At least from what she had gathered, the girl didn’t know much about her circumstances; oh well. In a sudden motion, Junko overpowered the pain and stood up and started walking. Almost unconsciously, she reached to the back of her head, and while she could feel a small clot and there was undeniably a reddish stain on her hair, at least she wasn’t bleeding anymore. A silver lining to this awful situation, probably.
It was only then when she checked her person in case she was missing anything besides her phone for those brief moments. At least momentarily, it seemed like everything was in place. In fact, she might be carrying something that might not even be hers. From one of her pockets, she brought out the funny-looking, reddish-colored device with teal grips™ and showed it to her companion. “’s this yers, brat? I don’t remember ownin’ this crap.”

"Sorry..." She repeated, muttering in little more than a faint whisper. Then she proceeded to say a bunch more bad words. Elly could tell that this lady probably did that a lot. She took some pills and gave the pills back to Elly, where she clumsily put them back into her belongings. "Y-you're welcome..." Then the girl began so start walking away, even though she still looked like she was hurt. That was bad, wasn't it? But... Elly couldn't tell her that. The girl was older than she was, after all. She probably knew better than Elly did. So Elly just went along with her, catching up to her by picking up her tiny leg's pace and grabbing onto the blue-haired girl's wrist. "E...e...elly..." She finally managed to mutter aloud. "N-not... brat..."
And when the blue-haired girl showed her the weird-looking red and teal toy? Elly just shook her head. She had never seen anything like it before. The screen was really small. Was it some kind of phone that really old people used?

Junko waved dismissively at the girl’s second apology. It was a good thing that she understood she had to tread lightly, but that one was a bit overkill, wasn’t it. “Already heard t’first time ya babbled, dude.” She groaned. Not the most patient person, over here. “There’s a sayin’ that goes ‘ya can’t eat apologies’. Ya won’t gain anythin’ by doin’ it more than once.”
Hopefully that wouldn’t be the cue for her to say sorry yet again; that’d be borderline infuriating, and Juni’s patience was notorious for its disappearing acts. A nod was given towards the blonde when she acknowledged her thanks, and while it wasn’t hard to tell that something was bothering the small one… Juni honestly couldn’t care less.
However, there was this small detail that had been omitted up to this point. The plain truth was that, while Junko was both notably older and probably way more athletic than her companion, something which in hindsight created a physical disparity that hadn’t been obvious… until now at least. “Ah, crap.” She wasn’t a fan of the hand suddenly enveloping her wrist, but the realization was doing a pretty good job at offsetting the displeasure. There might've been even the slightest hint of a grin there. “Seems like ya’ve got some spine, after all. ’N a name to yer face as well. Awright; hold fast, Elly.”
All things considered, chances were that even despite the teenager’s injuries, the duo would be faster if they didn’t have to deal with the pace of a kid. Thus, Elly was promptly lifted off her feet unceremoniously; with some luck, the blonde would take the hint and hold onto Juni’s back. “Jus’ don’t get too used t’it.”
It anyone dared to ask her if she thought she’d be giving a small kid a piggyback ride in an alien world, she’d have scoffed at the notion, yet here she was. Oh well; this is just how things are. She’d just have to roll with them. “D’you remember ’n what direction t’train was? Maybe we can find a city ’r some signs o’ civilization.”
From her spot, Elly would probably be able to observe pretty clearly the wound on the back of Juni’s head; despite that bottle not being friendly at all, it looked like it was healing fairly well for how recent it had been.
And maybe, just maybe, she’d be able to spot in the corner of her eye the shadow that was constantly trailing behind the duo. A possible cause of worry? No way to know, at least for now.

That wasn't right... was it? Elly was sure the blue-haired lady was wrong. After all, you had to eat more than once! Elly was beginning to wonder if this blue-haired lady was stupid or something. Well, she was older though, so that meant that she was still smarter though, right? Elly was kind of confused, so she just said, "S-sorry..." But wait... blue-haired lady didn't want Elly to apologize anymore! "Ah! Sorry!" The little girl looked like she was on the verge of tears from all her frustration!
But she did accept the piggy-back ride, but she was still waiting for blue-haired lady to give her her name. Wait... was she not supposed to give her name out, either! Oh no, was Elly being a bad person for talking to a stranger!?
Still, it wasn't like she was being mean to Elly, and she wasn't offering her candy or promising to take her home. Except she kind of was. Did this mean that Elly was getting kidnapped? What was bad because there was no one to call for help! But... Elly still didn't think it was that bad. Her kidnapper was lost, too, and looked kind of hurt.
Blue-haired lady asked which direction Elly came from, and after looking around for a bit, she shrugged her shoulders and pointed towards the set of train tracks. "That way... or... maybe... that way?" She pointed to both directions the set of tracks went. Incredibly helpful.
Either way, she wasn't in the best mindset to notice any presences stalking them. Not that Elly, the girl who would be looking at her feet if she were walking, would have noticed them even if fully alert.

Pretty expected, but the only fitting response to how insufferable the blonde was managing to be was a loud huff coming out of Junko’s throat. “Jus’… forget ’bout it.” Her tone wasn’t the nicest, and her waving her hand dismissively reinforced her words. Having to deal with a small kid was wearing on her nerves like a few things could. Yet, somehow, she had managed to not lash out at Elly just yet. Quite the achievement, wasn’t it?
Oh well; at the very least the piggyback ride had —mostly— happened in relative silence. Truth to be told, Juni was a person of few words, and that trait was kinda exacerbated by the fact she was both injured and exhausted. Chances were that if anything was expected from her, that probably should be asked.
But, that wasn’t very important for the time being, was it? The fact remained that the duo was still hopelessly lost, stalked by something neither of them could perceive at the moment, and that Elly was proving to pretty much be dead weight at the moment. Oh well; at the very least they weren’t in immediate danger, right?
Or maybe, they were. “’Ey.” The blue-haired teenager called. With any luck, her companion wouldn’t be asleep. “Ain’t the temp gettin’ a bit on t’warm side?” Despite the fact that it was already pretty dark out there and the temperature had otherwise turned a bit chilly, for some reason it almost felt like somebody had turned on the heat… from directly under them.
Call it instinct or whatever, but Juni dived to the side right before a geyser of pure magma erupted in the spot where the two had been right before. “Fuckin’ hell.” She exclaimed under her breath in disbelief, just as her gaze focused on the direction of the trail that the attack had left behind. At the end of it, there was a strange humanoid being that had green clothes and that was… frankly quite ugly, all things considered. Probably belonged to some balinese myth, or something.
But more importantly, there was a small kid shrouded in the darkness of that imposing figure. Maybe three or four years older than Elly? Hard to tell. It was only then when Juni had a vague idea of what was going on, even if she wasn’t sure of how it happened. “’Ey, arseholes! T’fuck was that!!?”
The answer she would get was a look of disapproval from the stranger being as the kid stepped ahead. He looked a bit on the familiar side, even though Junko couldn't recall where he had seen him before. “Shinohara Junko.” He said, his tone as hateful as a kid’s could be. “You’re gonna pay for what you did to my brother!”

But of course, Elly would never take the initiative to ask the scary lady that was nice enough to give her a piggyback ride. She didn't always understand what she was saying, but she was really angry a whole lot for some reason. Kind of like when papa and mama were still living with each other. Did that mean that the blue-haired lady was going through a... a divorce? She didn't look that old, but maybe she really was.
But blue-haired lady was right about it feeling warmer all of a sudden. Especially since she was getting really cold and was shivering... but not anymore! Suddenly Elly flew off to the side as a buncha lava came gushing out of the ground! She was still hanging on to blue-haired lady, but her arms ached from the sudden movement.
She didn't whimper or cry or anything like that. In fact, she was giving the strange boy and his green-clad companion a rather intense glare. But Elly was shivering in fear. But she held onto blue-haired lady, whose name was apparently Junko Shinohara. But Elly still stuck to her, wrapping her little arms around Junko's neck and squeezing for dear life.
And just when you think dead weight couldn't get any heavier.

This situation was just great at the moment; Juni could feel Elly shivering on her back, and while she wasn’t sure on whether that was due the chilly weather or because she was scared shitless, it wasn’t hard to form an educated guess. The teen herself? She was just too dumb reckless to give a damn about the whole deal.
At the very least, it could be said that the two girls had something in common. It might’ve been for different reasons, but the glares directed at their assailants’ direction weren’t something to scoff at; even the Baromon seemed at least a little bit intimidated at them. “I don’t know who’re ya talkin’ about, brat.” The female said, threateningly. “Am I ’sposed to know ya or yer brother? Cuz no bells ’r ringin’ over ’ere.”
Those words acted like pure magic; the kid stepped forward once again, his figure becoming relatively clear —for a low light environment like this one, that is—. He seemed pretty angry at what he had gotten. “I can’t believe you forgot about my brother!” Quite the bit of indignation right there. “You. You don’t remember Daiki Suzuki? You ruined his life! After you broke his nose, everyone in our neighborhood thought he was a criminal! Getting involved in street fights and gang violence! He was shunned by everyone!”
Junko stared at him, disbelief clear on his expression. “Well, brat. That was cuz he is a friggin’ criminal. He ’n his pals jus’ happened to be at t’wrong place in t’wrong time. And faced t’wrong person, to boot.” Maybe things weren’t as black and white as they seemed! Or maybe, they were? Not like that mattered. “’N, jus’ so ya kno, that fucker ’n t’cowards in ’is gang tried to their revenge today. T’dumbass broke a bottle on m’head while I was kickin’ ’is friends’ asses. Dun worry tho. He’s prob gonna need stitches down there after t’kick I gave ’im.”
Was it a good idea to aggravate the guy who controlled the… freak? that could summon magma pillars out of the blue? Probably not. Yet, was there anything else expected from Juni? She stood her ground, a cocky grin plastered on her face.
“You’re LYING! My brother is a good person! You’re the one who ruined his life. Everything would be better if you just didn’t exist!” By now the kid was veritably furious. “Baromon! Take care of her.”
A fireball sailed towards the girls, the teen evading it in the nick of time by jumping to the side and taking cover behind a rocky formation. She was panting and clearly exhausted, but her disposition showed no signs of that. “’Ey, Elly.” How was the girl doing, anyway? This situation was a bit on the stressful side, no lie. “I’ll need ya to hop down. Can’t run as fast with ya on m’back ’n I’m sure that green asshole’s gonna stop throwin’ fire at us if I sink m’fist on t’brat’s face.”
Applying some old-fashioned violence seemed to be the first solution that had sprung on the girl’s mind. Not like they had time to think about something more complex, anyway.

Elly was having a really hard time following the conversation... Junko said that someone was a bad person, but the other boy said that he wasn't. So apparently fought with the boy's older brother or something?
But if the boy said his brother was a good person, was Junko bullying him or something? Well... that didn't seem right. Junko said a lot of things angrily, but she was actually being considerate of Elly. She didn't seem like the type to bully people. Maybe she just only bullied boys, then? That probably made sense. She could see Junko beating up a bunch of boys. Boys were gross after all, and they liked to make funny faces at Elly.
Then the monster threw more fire at them, and Junko managed to dodge out of the way before Elly could get burned. Not that Elly particularly noticed any of this. She clutched onto Junko as tight as she could, her eyes closed as she tried to wish the bad monster away. She was shivering in fear at the mere sight of the monster.
But Junko said that Elly should get off of her back. She looked hurt and tired and now she had to deal with a really bad fire monster. But she seemed like she was really confident. And it was probably for that reason alone that Elly let go and jumped down. She was going to beat the bad people up and make them go away, right? "P-please don't get hurt..." She managed to weakly cry before running off on her own. She ducked behind a large rock, nearly hyperventilating from the utter terror and excitement at hand.
Which is probably why it took her a moment to notice the two other creatures hiding behind the rock.
"So... should we do something?" One of them asked. A dark green lizard-like creature holding a microphone, stand and all.
"I think this is something we should stay out of..." Another creature, a robotic-like turtle with a helmet, that kind of looked like a computer mouse a really old person owned. "We should just hide here until they sort their stuff out.
"No way, what if it's just a misunderstanding?" The metal lizard asked. "We should try and sort things out, you-" At this point Elly had moved up behind the rock, causing the pair to just stare at her as she caught her breath. Then she noticed them for the first time, causing her to get scared almost immediately and give them an intense glare. And unlike Juni, these two were easily shook.

While somebody who seldom cared about collateral damage, this situation didn’t please Junko in the slightest. As something clearly on the dangerous side, it was a pity that a brat small girl like Elly had to be involved in a life-threatening situation. Maybe she was growing a bit soft? Nah.
“Attagirl.” She muttered with satisfaction once the blonde descended, a confident, carefree smirk already evident on the older girl’s face. “Ain’t gonna lie. I’mma probs get hella hurt.” Juni stretched her sore arms for a second as she gazed forward. It was a good thing the Baromon wasn’t that far away. “But that ain’t comparin’ t’wat they ’r gonna get. Be back in min.”
The confidence —or cockiness?— she displayed was almost palpable; the teenager gave one last look to Elly as she retreated from the area of conflict before walking out to the open. “Ey, morons! Want a piece ’o me? Git ready for it!” For somebody who already had a pretty rough day, Junko didn’t seem to be showing any signs of slowing down.
Both Baromon and the kid ahead of him glared at the offending words and their owner. “Don’t hold back. Get rid of her.” No more words were needed there. A flurry of fireballs careened towards their enemy, their intent being nothing short of lethal force. Not like fire had a non-lethal mode, anyway!
Zigzagging was the only logical option to be an easy target in the face of the onslaught. With each step forward, she gap between the two parties became smaller, but avoiding the projectiles became harder as well and the tiredness slowed her movements progressively. It wasn’t hard to predict the eventual result of such an action, yet… “C’mon, fuckers! That’s all ya’ve got? I’m jus’ gettin’ started over ’ere!”
To say that her opponents were getting aggravated was an understatement, even though that feeling of mocking triumph fated to not live for way too long. As she was about to finish her dash, Junko was hit squarely in the chest in a blow that sent her tumbling backwards and winded her in the process.
She couldn’t even curse as her lungs desperately gasped for air. After confirming such a victory, both her opponents approached. “Can’t even boast now, can you?” A kick was promptly given to the girl’s side, making her double over in pain.
Yet, no word was uttered; no whimper or groan of pain, This invited a second blow, then a third, then a fourth. Increasingly frustrated at the lack of a reaction, the young male just gave a look at his partner. “I thought this was going to feel better.” He looked disappointed, until his face lit with an idea. “Maybe we’ll have to try harder? What do you think, Baromon?”
Considering how the ground below Juni was beginning to heat up as the other human stepped backwards, it wasn’t hard to tell what was about to happen next.
