To think this day had gone so well before, it'd come to a stop like the worst roller coaster ever. There sat Kotemon's tamer, sitting in the dirt with his mouth wide open. Let's start over. It started when at school he heard someone mention an old movie theater. Due to a series of poor translations and just plain ignorance, his partner learned that a theater in the entertainment district had something to do with "like, the best horror film ever!" (in his tamer's own words). The film, Kotemon couldn't remember it's name and it really didn't matter to the mon, was supposed to be one of the scariest, most bowel-breaking films ever created... After about two hours of wandering and searching, his tamer found ruins of the movie theater, broken down by the hammers of time, the location's once cheery and pleasant demeanor now a distant memory in the minds of anyone who knew what happened on the day the film aired. "Alright, get up, we can just go buy the movie online..." Kotemon said, trying to haul up the student. "Man, you're heavy... come on, snap out of it. You only knew this place for two hours... You're too young for a ticket anyway... And they wouldn't let me in regardless, even with the "little brother" disguise you cooked up... Get up!" the digimon shouted, trying help his tamer up. Duffer, however, steadfast as his mind was filled with thoughts of how this could have happened. Ghosts? Loonatics? ...Digimon? However, as he spotted most of the location had no grafitti or missing objects, his mind came to a conclusion aside from the obvious "police are good at stopping thieves" assumption. "If all this pricey stuff's still here..." Getting up, Duffer put his ballcap on and pointed to the theater. "The movie must be as well!" Kotemon frowned, tempted to hit his tamer across the back of the head. "You... you're kidding me right? You're afraid to enter an ancient tomb, your school's storage room, and your foreign exchange parent's basement, but we're outside a dilapidated, abandoned, and condemned movie theater and your very first instinct is to look for something that's probably long gone." "Nothing bad's ever happened in a movie theater." He argued. "Not while it was abandoned anyway. And even then it's just some guy in a mask scaring people off the land." "...I... you..." Kotemon held his head in its hands, rocking it back and forth. "You know monsters exist, you know that you are not trained well enough to defend yourself, and you know that this place is liable to collapse at any moment... and you STILL want to go in." "Eeyup! What's the matter? You scared now? You scared of an empty building?" "Oh my Yggdrasil, don't-" "Bawk bawk baaaaawk." "I am not afraid, i-" "BAWK BAWK BAW-Ow!" Kotemon struck his companion with the training sword. "Fine! We'll go in! But you'll find NOTHING but disappointment and pain." The tamer smiled, adjusting the backpack and content that he'd bested his self-proclaimed "master" in an argument.

An old facade, not the smartest place to make a phone call due to the fact that no-one would be caught dead under a bridge in this land, but it did make sense; If they were too scared to even stop under a bridge, they wouldn't dare enter a condemned building. Viktor could push over some of the support pillars, which made him sigh as Genesis was covering the door to make sure no-one heard what was being said over the phone.
"No- No. It has been taken care of, just... Better intelligence on the operation next time, da?"
He was sure to use one of the press rooms, where the sound was blocked and wouldn't echo as he pulled his smartphone away from his head and mashed the hang-up symbol. Dropping the phone in his pocket, Viktor heard Genesis call him through a small headset;
"Pops, we got two entering, one human, the other digimon. Plan?"
Viktor sighed as he peeked from the door, "Keep your distance, don't reveal yourself, not yet."
Genesis retorted; "You know as well as I do that a tremor will bring this place down and kill these too! I say we="
"We can't risk it, leave them be."
An audible sigh was heard over the mic as Viktor closed the door and quietly walked to the set o stairs that led down, given his occupation, not even a digimon could hear the man move. This surprised most, and even Viktor could throw off presence sensing Digimon, sneaking around for the past twelve years granted him that ability. He watched, laughing to himself as he watched the two bicker and one strike the other, cute now, would be a problem if he ever got above rookie. One strike would turn his tamer from a human to a stain on a rock, and if Viktor hadn't seen men die first hand from Digimon, he wouldn't believe it.
Genesis watched with intent as Viktor moved from one end to the other, literally getting inches from the two and zipping past and getting into cover. Viktor did grasps the instability of the land. but he still didn't understand the gangs here. The small street gangs felt pressure because of the increased security, so they did business where no-one could find them, and today wasn't any different. Five guys walked in, making fun of the instability of the place, laughing and jumping at eachother. The spoke of a urban legend of a ghost that stalked this place for years, and while the latter wasn't true, there was a ghost in the building with them, and his name was Viktor.
Genesis jumped followed, landing behind the kid and his Digimon, covering the mouth if either screamed, or both if they did. She would be presented in her Kitsune form, giving a small sigh as she would introduce herself;
"My name is Genesis, my tamer is out there. You guys are in danger, please, stay here." she gave a warm, motherly smile to keep them calm as she radioed Viktor;
"Pops-"
"I see them, standby, we'll see if they walk away."
The five men were chatting, about a hit on some cop and about some big Yakuza crime boss, a name Viktor had heard thousands of times. He gave a sigh as they said they wanted to look around, to the protest of two others, who were called out on being "whimps". Viktor could only pray that they would back off and listen to the whimps... or a ghost would be haunting the building.

Kotemon turned around on being touched, but relaxed as it saw it was just another digimon, one obviously not inclined to fight them. Letting out a sighed, he frowned as his tamer was about to open his mouth. "Don't say anything..." He whispered. "Get out that phrasebook and find out what she just said."
The tamer sighed and dug in his pack, finding it and giving a loose translation. "She say-" Kotemon yanked his tamer's shirt and gave him a shushing motion. "Right..." He whispered. "...She said she's Genesis... her tamer is... somewhere... and we should stay here or else danger."
Kotemon gave his tamer a stare that, even through the mon's helmet, the tamer knew was a smug grin. "Maybe you'll start listening to me more often... but I doubt it."
<Why're we in danger?> He asked, looking at the new mon with slight confusion.
"Ask her why she jumped us." The tamer did as ordered, Kotemon trying to climb onto his tamer's shoulder's to read what the book was saying so he could ask the questions.
"Hey, geddoff..." He mumbled, trying to push the Digimon off of him. Eventually, the tamer relented and Kotemon was able to ride on his shoulders, looking at the book and realizing something.
"...Oh, right... I can't read anyway."

Viktor took a sigh of relief as the men started walking away, being glad he didn't have to fight anyone, he would turn around to go collect Genesis and be on his way... When what sounded like a kid yelling at it's sibling. And unfortunately, Viktor wasn't the only one who heard it. The gangsters all turned to eachother, egging eachother on and pushing themselves deeper into the theater. Viktor cursed silently, they would put the digimon and tamer in the hospital, or worse, if they found them. And normally he would leave and chalk it to "Not my problem", but he knew Genesis would insist.
Genesis smiled at the two's bickering. Almost like siblings, and it was cute, minus the part where one loudly exclaimed to the other, which prompted Genesis to quickly hush them, speaking in pretty fluent Japanese;
"<Quiet! There's a reason why->"
As she spoke she heard footsteps approach, too light to be Viktor's and too loud, it was one of those hand gangsters, she was sure of it. She would put herself between him and the man, who opened the door with the most shocked looked on his face. Then relaxed, laughing as he called the others up.
"<Hey, no worries guys, just some girl and her friend. Guess we lucked out.>"
Genesis acted quickly, activating her holosuit just as the door opened. Last thing they needed was police and DATS here. The man didn't even care to notice the digimon on the tamer's shoulder, and none of them noticed the fifth guy not respond. Genesis smirked, the big guy was already going to work.
She spoke as she kept the two shielded; "<Walk away and you won't end up in a full body cast.>"
A small growl could be heard escaping her lips as she spoke, the grimace on her face spoke volumes with her tone. But this guy was a tough nut to crack. And so was the two others that stacked behind him. One spoke to the other;
"<Where's Mokoto and Kaz?"
The other two shrugged as he waved it off with; "<Probably chickened out, this girl says she's gonna put me in a cast. What say we teach her some manners?>"
Only two chuckles were heard as the man on the right simply vanished. Unknown to the other two as they started walking toward the group. Smiles on their faces.

Duffer fumbled with his book, looking for translations for what she'd said. <Aha! OK... do you know if they have Witch Projects of Blair in camera?> Kotemon covered the tamer's mouth before the other guys entered but let go as they saw her transform. The boy looked at the book again, frowning as the men gave him another few things to try and translate. <Do you think...> He began, Kotemon frowning at his companion. <They are also looking for the movie?>
Kotemon tried to see why she was shielding them, giving the apearance of his human's head was shaking violently and unnaturally. Eventually, it stood up on its partner's shoulder's, looking over Duffer's head revealing its bright yellow eyes, the pointed horns, and his own pair of arms. In the shade of the dank building it would appear the top of his cap and Kotemon's... coat looked like they were made of the same material.
"Who's that?" The mon asked. Perhaps the visage of the male growing a second head and another set of arms from the top of his skull, as well as speaking what sounded like complete gibberish to the average Japanese person would be enough to frighten them off... perhaps not, who would know but them?

If they could see it, watching Viktor work was rather entertaining to some. The Russian quickly moved through the darkness, silently shifting and pulling the men into the darkness, so quickly, in fact, that the men didn't even have time to scream. He moved with them, just out of the corner of their eye as he continued to weed out their numbers. Five turns into four, four into three, and three into two before both were in the room where Genesis and the kids were. He watched her shield them defensively as they approached, Kotemon doing some strange thing that only caused the men to laugh as Viktor quickly went into an adjacent room and waited. Genesis noticed him move into the room and waited patiently, soon to call out to her tamer as they inches closer.
The walls were so flimsy on the inside that Viktor could easily break them with a shoulder ram, and the plan was to ram through the wall and finally make himself seen. Two on one wasn't ideal, but Genesis would likely step in, so a two on two was the plan. But, if push came to shove, he could do what he had to. Genesis stopped as she called out;
"Now Viktor now!!
As soon as she screamed, a figure of a man came bust trough the rotted dry wall, who quickly delivered a powerful front kick to the first man, knocking him into the second as he wasted no time, picking one up half way and slamming him on the ground. The second took a swing at Viktor, nailing him on the jawline as he responded by grabbing the thug's arm, twisting opposite and punching the elbow, causing a wet crack to echo through the small room as he fell over, screaming in pain. Viktor looked to Genesis, then to the kids:
"We have to go. Now."
With a nod, Genesis extended her hand, hopefully being clear that she was trying to help. Viktor was smart, and he knew this man's screaming brought attention, the law enforcement kind. And that would bring DATS which would be a bad time for everyone. And being implicated for a Digimon incident in Shibuya wasn't on his plans any time soon.

Blinking and looking at one another, Kotemon and Duffer took her hand, following the two out of the building, not really in an ideal point to argue with two strangers, both of which neither could see and had just kicked the asses of five people.
As they were leaving the building, Duffer sighed. "You entered an abandoned building in the seedy part of town, why aren't you surprised we were jumped?" The mon asked, sarcastically. "We never got that movie, which is the whole reason we went there." Kotemon rolled its eyes and climbed off of Duffer's shoulders and onto the ground, accidentally scratching the tamer's leg. "So? I told you we can just rent it." Kotemon repeated his earlier statement. "Besides, it would've been in Japanese. You'd have no clue what was going on." "That would make it even scarier!"
"You RUN at the sign of danger and avoid anything remotely deadly even when I say it's perfectly safe. When YOU think something's completely safe it's based on fake logic, shoddy writing, and illogical concepts!" "...How'd you learn those words if you can't read?" "That's not the point! The point is that you are an idiot! What would have happened if these two HADN'T shown up? Do you think I would simply beat them to death for you? Do you think I'm your bodyguard AND parent? I get you to bathe, I get you to wake up, I get you to exercise, to do your studies, to practice your japanese, and what do I get?!" "Kotemo-" "DON'T even try... Apologize to these two. Then you and I are going to sign you up for something so YOU won't have free time to get yourself killed."
After a long, painful silence, Duffer looked at the two. "...Sorry..."

Viktor crossed his arms, listening to the two ramble:
"Are you quite finished? You two sound like a married couple"
The Russian sighed as he turned to Genesis, who nodded and started pulled the men away from the doors. Knowing they would have to leave very quickly and very soon. She looked to Viktor who nodded and turned to the two bickering kids,
"Where there are a few, many will follow. These bastards are like ants."
He wiped the sweat from his brow and walked to the door, gesturing for Genesis to follow, who gestured for the kids to follow. In a short amount of time, they would find themselves on the street, and with Viktor staring them down;
"Reckless, stupid kids. You almost got my partner and I killed. You're lucky I led you out and didn't stack you with those other fools. But my partner has a heart, so be happy she is more forgiving than I. Genesis? We're leaving."
With a nod Genesis placed a bag on the ground, giving a wink as she followed her tamer. It was a copy of that movie the kid was rambling about with an address on a movie theater that was safer and could play it. It wasn't much, but it was a nice gesture she could try to afford after he tamer stormed off like an angry dog. She wondered how much Ami even dealt with his anger, but he did have a point. With increased gang movements and digimon able to appear at a moments notice; Climbing around a facade wasn't the smartest idea. She just hoped the kids learned.
But if they were anything like she thought... They didn't.

As the two followed, Duffer felt shame. His simple quest for a Horror movie had lead to disgust from two complete strangers and his own partner. The American's silence, for those who knew him, was an uncharacteristic moment for him. Kotemon had only heard his silence in his sleep. Even has they continued to insult him, Duffer's personal thoughts were dealing the most dangerous of blows. He'd wanted a fun adventure, a simple trek to find a simple prize and a bonding experience. What he found was Yakuza, a couple of DATS officers who didn't like him, and the dislike of his own Digimon.
Thankfully, he wasn't thinking about that, even though the niggling little thoughts were in the back of his head. His mind was on the movie. "I can't believe we couldn't find it. I've always WANTED to see The Blair Witch Project..." He mumbled, before noticing her leave the bag. Noticing her wink, he went over to the bag and opened it up, finding the film reel and address... "Oh no..." Kotemon sighed, face-palming. "And we were this close to learning a lesson about ourselves..."
"Alright Kotemon, We did it!" He smiled and waved to her "Thanks! I owe you one! Come on Kotemon, let's go find a projector!" He said, laughing and running away. Kotemon sighed and followed this tamer, unhappily.
