Holding his blade up Clayton couldn't fully see straight anymore, his eyes were getting heavy and his stance was getting weaker. He was in his Kotemon form holding Zu, the digimon he found in sword form. His opponent didn't even seem remotely bothered by the fight they were just in merely scoffing as it turned around. "So, that's all the power you have, maybe I chose wrong then..." As they said this the digimon Clayton could barely see anymore slowly vanished in a ray of light, disappearing from Clayton's sight. What was left was a simple totem in front of Clayton that vanished from sight, going to who knows where.
Clayton was barely holding on to his form, still he couldn't keep it up anymore. Slowly the teen fell to one knee digging his sword into the ground, as he did this a field of data surrounded him reverting back into his human form, still holding Zu in her sword form using it to hold himself up. "Darn, I. I messed, up." As he said this the teen fully fell to the ground, his arms giving out on him as he hit the soft grass hard. The sword he had falling off to the side as he fell.
Once it was out of his hand the sword turned back into their Digimon form of a Zubamon, getting up she walked over to Clayton. "Clayton, Hey. Clayton get up." She shook the teen trying to get him to wake up, he was just unconscious but being asleep in the middle of nowhere was a bad idea, the fight he just had would've made a lot of noise and drawn in attention, hopefully not too much.

"What was that?"The light green face of David's ModokiBetamon partner Ziggy peeked out from the spikey mess of hair on the boy's head, staring off into the distance where a thin light had just shot up into the sky. The pair had come to the Hills today in search of caves to explore and find adventure in. Unfortunately, David had mixed up the meanings of 'hill' and 'mountain' and had been thus far unsuccessful at locating anywhere to do some spelunking. Adventure always seemed to find them though. "Let's go check it out." David had already begun tapping his very special shoes to the ground, forcing the wheels to drop out of them. "At least be careful." The frog mon knew that this warning was completely in vain. At this point, it was just out of tradition and care that Ziggy at least tried to keep his partner safe. "TO ADVENTURRRRRE~!" With just a small lean forward the motor in David's ATs spun up and propelled the boy forward through the hills towards the spot where the light had shone just a few moments ago. Clayton was a bit out of it for a few moments, he did just get his butt kicked pretty bad after all. With the Zubamon next to him shaking him a bit trying to wake him up. It was slightly working he opened his eyes a bit but something loud he heard about adventure over the silence of the hills woke him up even more. With a grunt the teen slowly got to a sitting position for a bit before rising up fully rubbing his head for a few seconds. "Clayton, are you okay?" The Zubamon asked, a hint of worry evident in her voice.
Clayton definitely didn't look alright, while transforming back did heal him a bit it was still pretty evident that he had gotten into a scuffle and lost. However instead of admitting that Clayton just gave a smile and a thumbs up. "Don't worry I'm fine, it'll take more then that to, ughh." While he was back on his feet he was still a bit dizzy, stumbling for a moment before regaining his balance. "Man I really got my clock cleaned." Clayton quickly made sure he still had everything on hand, flashlight check, Kendo sword check still on his back. Sunglasses, dope and also check.
"You didn't get any clocks cleaned you got beat up." Clayton stared at the digimon for a moment before realizing she probably didn't get it. Grabbing his D-tector from off the ground Clayton looked around for a bit.
"Where'd the spirit go, I'm ready for round two." He was not ready at all.

David arrived on the scene and skid to a halt, examining the scenario in front of him. A shiny golden sword..dog...thing(?) helping a young man back onto their feet. Both were beat up, but recovering. Clearly something intense had just happened.
"Hey are you ok? You look really cool. Your friend is cool, too. Did you see a bright light? What-" David began excitedly rattling off questions and compliments before being abruptly shushed.
"David, hey. One at a time." Ziggy, David's faithful companion, tried to reign the boy in and keep his excitement in check. "Besides, they're clearly disheveled."
"Right right. Sorry, dad." David's voice dripped with discontent and sarcarm. But he knew Ziggy was right, so he chose his next question carefully. "How can I help?" Everyone is searching for a world where they belong. A place of light, free of falsehood.

While Clayton was busy getting ready for round two that he was almost surely going to lose again he failed to notice David coming up on them, when he did the first thing he heard was apparently that he looked cool. Which caused Clayton to rub the back of his head not used to a compliment like that. "I'm not, well uhh." Clayton was barely able to get a word in edgewise as he kept rattling off questions.
Thankfully what appeared to be the kids partner, or at least Clayton assumed, chimed in calming them down. "It's no worries, I'm fine." Clayton gave a thumbs up and smiling through whatever pain he was in at the moment.
"No, he is not." The Zubamon chimed in easily seeing through Claytons little lie. "That beam of light was a spirit totem, for its trial it challenged him to combat, suffice to say he lost." That was hurtful, but very true.
"Yeah.... Could barely even scratch them." Clayton stopped for a moment before punching his open palm. "I know I can beat him though, can't give up." Then the teen got an idea, he didn't like asking a little kid but considering this was the digital world strange things did happen. "If you wanna help could you help me find the spirit again? It flew off somewhere, dunno where though." Considering that AT they had could cover more ground then Clayton alone.

"Hey Ziggy, what's a spirit totem?" David decided to ask his faithful companion instead of the mon who had just mentioned them or the guy who apparently just fought one.
"They're, well..." Ziggy took a moment. He wasn't sure of all the details since he wasn't partnered to a spirit user, nor had he ever been. At least as far as either party was aware. "You remember Amelie? How she turned into a Digimon? Spirit totems let certain humans turn into digimon."
David remembered. Oh, how he wished he could forget and scrub the image of Heraldmon from his brain. At that invasive thought, the young boy's eyes darted over to Clayton, imagining the beaten yet determined teen turning into some kind of horrorterror. He visibly shuddered at the thought, but quickly shook it off. Clayton had to know what he was doing. If he wanted to change into *that* sort of thing, it wasn't for David to judge.
"Ok, I'll help you. Partner, send me up." David got into a sort of runner's stance. His legs bent and tensed, ready to take off.
Ziggy knew exactly what that meant. The pair had practiced this particular maneuver a couple of times on their adventures. Within moments, an Aqua Tower spawned below David and shot straight into the air, carrying the boy with it. At the instant the tower reached its zenith, David jumped and launched himself as high as he could go. While in the air, the boy spun around once before landing back on the tower, which slowly sank back into the ground.
All in all the boy's eyes only made it about fifteen feet into the air at most. Not terribly high by Digimon standards, but easily the best that could have been done with this particular technique. The synchronization between the two was somewhat incredible for a pair so new to each other.
"Yech. Wet socks." David immediately began to shake his feet, but to no avail. The majority of the water was trapped by his shoes and wasn't going anywhere. "I didn't see any glowing light.
"What do you think? You fought it. I heard that when people fight they can learn all kinds of things about each other. Where do you think it went?" It is probable this boy has learned the wrong sorts of lessons from certain episodes of Power Rangers. Everyone is searching for a world where they belong. A place of light, free of falsehood.

Oh right, Clayton probably should've mentioned what a spirit totem was before asking for help. Before he could though the apparent Ziggy had already mentioned what they were, if it let a human change into a digimon that was enough for Clay. Though after that was mentioned David looked over at him for a moment, The teen noticed the kid shudder as he looked over Clayton which made the teen a bit confused towards the reason why. "It's not that odd is it?" Spirit totems weren't too weird.... Actually thinking on it yeah they were considering his reaction when he first used one. "Actually wait yeah, Spirits are pretty odd."
Still they agreed to help him out, Before Clayton could say anything on where to look or to split up or anything it seems that they already had an idea. Calling for his partner a massive water tower shot the kid upward towards the sky, making Clayton stumble back a bit surprised. "Oh, wow. You sure that's safe?" It was the first question that came to mind.
"If they weren't sure I have my doubts they would even attempt to do this, Clayton." Yeah it seemed kinda obvious when Zu mentioned it, still though it was quite the sight to behold.
When David landed Clayton gave a thumbs up. "That was really cool, never seen anything like that before." The teen had to admit he was impressed, though unfortunately they had failed to see any beams of light from even that high up, had the spirit already moved that far away?
"If the spirit does belong to Clayton, your idea may have some merit. Go on, try and find them Clayton." Zu seemed to agree with David, looking up at the teen waiting for him to make a move.
"Alright, guess it can't hurt to try." Clayton gave a light shrug then took a small step back, holding his D-tector up and against his chest with his eyes closed. Taking a deep breath in and out, he thought he looked really stupid at the moment, unsure of what to even do. 'Show me the way.' he thought to himself. As he stood there though the grass around the teen started to blow violently around in the wild, if one looked closely behind the teen they would see an ethereal figure standing behind him with a symbol of a sword hanging in the air.
As soon as it came it vanished though, As it did a thought came to the teens mind, a direction to take. "It's that way." Clayton lifted his arm almost robotically towards the north with a low and quiet voice.
"Clayton, what was that thing?"
"What thing?" The teen asked completely clueless. Voice back to normal.

Did the coolkid just call David cool? That is so...cool. The unexpected compliment caused the boy to blush and look downwards, hiding his face. "Th-thanks." Receiving praise from strangers was a skill the boy desperately needed to work on.
While Clayton did his divination thing, David had a more pressing need to take care of. He took out his digivice and used it to rend the very ground in twain, creating a small 1 foot portal back into the human world. Into his own room, to be precise. Reaching one arm deep into the portal, David fumbled around for a bit until he found his prize. Fresh socks. No way was he going on a new adventure with a new friend squishing every step.
Ziggy was about to scold his partner for using the substantial power of his Digivice for such mundane tasks, but was interrupted when Clayton had come up with something. Both partners turned towards the older kid in time to see him point and claim they knew the way.
"What thing?" Ziggy and David echoed Claytons confusion in unison, having been too distracted to see sny sort of spectre.
David, having finally gotten his shoes/skates back on, clicked the wheels into place and zoomed off in the direction Clayton had pointed. He didn't get very far, however. After making it about twenty feet, he stopped and turned back towards all the others. "Come on. Your thing is this way, right?" Everyone is searching for a world where they belong.
