Name: Kamie Alura Laine
Alias:
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Height: Approx 5'
Weight: Approx 96lbs
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Birth Date: March 16th
Western Horoscope: Aries
Birth Place: Rye, England
Skills/Talents:
Drawing - Kamie is quite the budding young artist, although surprisingly shy to share her work - those that have had the pleasure of such a look have often commented at the talent the young teenager has. More than one sketchbook on her bookshelves are filled with drawings - of things, places and people she has seen and met - each sketched and carefully detailed. It is highly unusual to not see her with at least a few doodles and things on paper or even on her arms if lacking for a canvas.
Climbing - Something she has done since she was very young, something that often drove her parents to utter worry - suddenly turning around and finding the young girl half way up a tree or worse! More than once Kamie found her way onto a roof, not seeming at all concerned by the height - content enough to have her legs dangling off the side, feet kicking back and forth as she looked around in wonder. Still to this day its something she loves, and is actually quite good at - if only she could stop others from worrying about her climbing so much...

Personality:
For Kamie this honestly does hold true, for anyone that has ever had the pleasure of meeting the young Laine girl, would be sure to state at least one of the following about her - that she is 'full of energy', 'always on the move', 'needs to think before she acts' - and those would most likely just be from her teachers. But as active and somewhat impulsive as she can be, there are times when she is calmer and more at ease. Usually with a sketchbook on her lap, a thoughtful look on her face - with fingers tinged with charcoal or from pencils she has used and often with the young teenager somewhere up high. Usually in a tree but occasionally other unusual places.
She loves to learn, and has always done decently well at school - some subjects, such as art, more than others. But she does her best and loves to finish things as quickly as possible - not always all that well, but she finished things!
She is indeed somewhat competitive, something that shows in many aspects of her life, however, her heart often wins out - prefering to make others happy before herself. A surprise to some, not so much to others who know her well. She cares deeply for those around her, even strangers she just meets - wanting to make sure others are okay - but those closer to her, she is fiercely protective of. Despite being small she isn't afraid to fight to protect someone she cares about - she doesn't tolerate bullies in particular, their behaviour being a sure way to strike her fury and make her act before thinking first.
Appearance:
Kamie is in someways a little of what she calls 'simply average', she is light skinned and of simply average height - with somewhat boring hazel 'brown' eyes. Her hair is a light reddish brunette shade in colour - which isn't anything all that special either - at least if you mention it to her, although the style she has chosen is a little more unique - more so as she mostly decided to cut it herself on a whim.
When it comes to other things however, Kamie is sure to point out the tiny speckling of freckles just over her nose - usually with a wide smile at the same time. She has several small scars along her arms - most from adventures climbing places - and she has a small scar on her chin, one she sheepishly will admit was from attempting to copy her brother on a skateboard. She can also often be seen with fingers and hands smudged with either charcoal, pencil or ink of some kind - depending on what she has recently chosen to draw with.
As far as clothing goes - usually she can be seen in a uniform most days of the week, on weekends or otherwise it's rare to see her in something other than jeans or pants of some kind, usually paired with a simple t-shirt with some character or another on it and whatever sneakers she has managed to slip on that morning. When the weather is cooler however, she is almost always seen with a jacket of her older brothers, a piece of clothing that is honestly quite too big for her small stature but brings a comfort to the young teen and keeps her warm. Often paired with a cute scarf wrapped around her neck or usually half falling off of her shoulders.

Personal History:
Kamie Alura Laine was born on the Sixteenth of March, in the early morning hours right before sunrise - while this happened fourteen years ago - where she was born is far different from where the young teenager now lives.
She was born in Rye, a town in East Sussex in England. Two hours by train from London itself! It was a place her mother had been born and raised herself, a place she loved. For the first few years of Kamie's life, she often would run up and down cobbled streets - tagging along after her older brother Luka - it was in Rye that Kamie's love of drawing began. A tiny little girl drawing misshapen buildings and trees while sitting on her front steps waiting for her brother to return home from school.
Her parents were always loving and adored their two children, Luka being just a few years older than Kamie herself was their firstborn - a surprise child for the young couple but not unwanted at all. Despite the love for their children, they were a busy sort both having jobs of their own and struggling at times to juggle work and home life. Often resulting in Kamie and Luka having mostly each other for company, other than old Mrs. Hawkins who lived just a few houses down who often would watch over them. The elderly woman was somewhat of a constant in the children's earlier years, it was her who would greet Luka home from school after he started his schooling of course. And it was her who baked cookies for the children, teaching little things to a curious little girl, and took care of them until their parents returned home.
Usually, Kamie's mother was first home, greeting the children with an exhausted expression that easily morphed into true love and joy at seeing her children after a long day. They always had dinner together, something that their mother insisted on being home in time for, to sit with her children for dinner together - asking questions of their days no matter how silly the answers would be. Their father not always present in time for dinner, though he did try his best to be there as well.
Their parents being busy, resulted of course in furthering Kamie's adoration of her older brother - for when all else failed - Luka was there. He looked out for her, kept her safe, and of course taught her all sorts of fun things! Her big brother was by far the best person ever - of that there was very little doubt what so ever in the young girls' mind.
All in all for the first seven and a half years of her life, things were as they were - she was happy and growing, learning all kinds of new things and just starting her journey into school. Until one day, while Kamie was in class listening to her teacher reading from a book - some book that had magic and it was really cool honestly! But while this was happening in her life - 'The Accident' took her mother away from her.
Being still young she didn't fully understand other than something bad had happened, her mother had been hurt, and - she wasn't going to come home from the hospital. It was rough and confusing and - very scary of course.
It seemed at the time, to the young girl that her whole world was turning upside down and spinning by so very fast - almost like twisting around on the swings as much as you could... only to suddenly let go - it tugs and spins you so much that you start to feel a little sick. Then it just stops and everything snaps back into place - but you're stomach still hurts just a little and somethings still seem a little fuzzy from spinning. This though, there wasn't that extra feeling of joy - that made her want to do it again - no... things just wouldn't stop this time. It was like she was still on the swings - spinning out of control being tugged as the weight of her small body jolted the swing out of the spinning - spinning... so much spinning.
Her life was changing - her mother wasn't there, her brother was sad but still at her side - and her father was very sad, and very stressed - struggling with his own adult things. Then the next big change occurred for the Laine family - a work opportunity fell into their fathers' lap - one that would hopefully allow him more time at home, but one that would change where home was exactly.
Being taken away from the only life that she had ever known was - it was not easy. By now she was almost eight years old and suddenly finding herself in a new country, learning a whole new language was rough enough - but still dealing with the loss of her mother - with so many new things. The bubbly young girl was a little more withdrawn at first - diving more into her art, which did help a lot - but did make a few things harder, namely making friends.
It took time and it took a lot of patience - two things that Kamie had always struggled a little with. But her big brother was right with her, or kind of - he was older and starting highschool around the time they moved - but he still made time for her - to check she was okay. That she settled into her class before rushing to his own each morning. He helped her learn, helped her get the courage up to make new connections, new friends at school. He was there no matter the good or the bad.
Their father was around a little more often, always getting home before dinner - but usually gone by the time the kids were up in the mornings. The older Kamie got, the more often she noticed her father was almost a shadow of the loving Father that she remembered from back in Rye. He wasn't around as often by the time Kamie became a teenager and when he was. He always seemed a little lost in thought - perhaps still a little lost himself.
Despite some rough family issues going on throughout her life, Kamie has made it to the age of Fourteen. She has a father who does love her and her brother dearly but is still deeply grieving the loss of his wife and best friend - the mother of his children. She has a big brother who looks out for her no matter what he, himself is going through. All in All, Kamie knows she's lucky - she has a lot in life, she has a talent and determination to strive to achieve whatever she puts her mind to. And perhaps - she has something more, an adventure coming her way - with perhaps even a new, yet lifelong friend - or maybe even two.... she will soon meet.
Alias:
- Kamie - its her name, so of course its mostly used!
- 'Tiny Laine' - for the most part her brothers friends use this nickname, but its one that she's quite fond of - knowing her brothers friends usually see her as a little sister as well.
- Monkey - a nickname given to her originally by her father, but commonly used by just about anyone who has seen her climbing - or scolded for climbing onto a school roof....
- Kiddo - only by her brother, just about anyone else who calls her this will be firmly glared at and scolded.
