Perhaps it was fate.
But perhaps it was also the workings of many cogs grinding away together to find the source of it all. The source of a mon called orion. It was early morning before the signal was found; a particular angel and her artificially bound brethren were looking through scores of data and were too busy to initially recognize what they had found.
It wasn’t until the loud voice of a very particular director that they paid any attention to the beeping. They hadn’t just found another place of Orions. They hadn’t just found somer andom hovel he had retreated to.
No.
They found the place that he went to call home; where he went to go rest and recuperate. The sheer amount of traces and signals that came from there were overwhelming to such a degree. And of course like everywhere else… He was so deep in the layers of terminus it was impossible to directly find him without some kind of hint or clue.
The fact of the matter was… that his old hide out that they had found a year or so ago was just barely near the surface in comparison. This lab was so far down, so far removed and it felt like it was on another plane of existence entirely that… well. It explained why it was so hard to find him.
They wasted no time.
There were two that they knew to contact. A particular Blackgatomon and a particular tamer that had come along with them. Chalice knew them directly and would contact them herself but… Her Artificial intelligence knew orion best and discretely sent out two other messages.
One to a tamer better known as “Shi” and a solo digimon known as Cion. Unaware of the connection that cion had with Syre. But they were known for their strength and gusto. Knowing that the four would have a better chance than just two if this truly was Orion’s home.
District director Malgonoth also made a few calls of his own. A healthy regiment of andromon’s and a pair of Machinedramons. Ontop of it all? He also called in X-001. A Hi andromon responsible for helping with the crystal forest incident. With that call their home ‘base’ was safe and established. No one was allowed in or out. Communication to the central hub of terminus was turned off and they waited for their arrivals.
Many would nervously adjust around the massive dramaons who now stood outside of the city hall of the district malganoth directed. Their orders were simple. To keep anyone out but those four and their partners and or mercenaries.
If they weren’t part of that select group they simply weren’t let in. If they did show up? One at a time or even together they would be quickly ushered inside to a waiting room. Where a few andromons waited and stood guard. They weren’t as powerful as the hi-andromon that stood guard in the central ‘plaza’ of the ‘city hall’. But they certainly were tougher than their regular counterparts. These andromons were not champion level but ultimate level. And there was quite a few of them.
The two machinedramons were of super mega tier and seemed to be carrying armaments that made them especially dangerous. Who was to say what else was on this turf? Regardless of who arrived first they wouldn’t see anyone ‘properly’ living until about fifteen minutes passed. Plenty of time to get to know one another or figure out what was going on. The first person they would see wasn’t even probably someone they’d want to. An angel with her AI companion.
”It’s been… a long long long long time since I’ve talked to any of you but… We’ve finally found him. We’ve found orion and we’re about to make an attack on his main base of operations. With you four at the spearhead.”
It wasn’t even a moment after the living chalice spoke that her artificial counterpart spoke up from her wristlet. Prompting the living one to hold her arm up so a little projection could take form.
It’s been a really difficult fight to get through every layer and firewall. But we have ONE teleport for you guys in until his firewalls are down. Which you know what that means. You go in. Plug me in and then I can offer you advice or mapping or whatever. But that’s not even what all we want you to do.
Chalice let out a soft sigh and crossed her arms, the motion making the artificial version of her flutter a bit and the angel rolled her shoulders just a bit.
”Everything. We want you to destroy all his work. Data. Experiments. EVERYTHING. I don’t care how you do it or how it gets done but not a single shred of anything he’s worked on can be let through. If even a smidgen of his work remains we’ve failed. Which is where… The artificial version comes in. She’ll be able to fully wipe the system when placed in a central location or hub. Which… also will mean she’ll be wiping herself out along with all this data.”
Don’t worry about me though, I’ve got back up versions of me up here so me wiping myself out down there doesn’t matter super much. But that does also lend… another issue of how well defend this place probably is. The three of you probably remember that minor labs potential defenses? I bet this one is far better defended and far better equipped to handle any potential incursions. Any questions?

Orion couldn't hide forever.
Up until this point, Syre had done everything that she could: the initial raid with Dio and Carlos a little over a year ago, the break-in of that sham of a recording studio, and even handing one of Orion's agents over to the city's investigative teams all helped to push Orion into a corner. Though the madman might have had friends in high places before, it was becoming more and more clear that dealing with Orion, even as a political ne'er-do-well, was bad stock.
Finding Orion would only be a matter of time. And when Syre got the call, when the task was offered, she accepted without hesitation, and Cion would receive her invitation only a few hours later. It would bring them both, as well as Gio, Dio, Carlos, and Shi, all out towards that secure base just outside of city hall.
Syre would be the first to arrive, not as a BlackGatomon, but in her ultimate form, a Sistermon Noir, to both acclimate her data signal and take advantage of the form's calmer demeanor. She'd spot the base, and walk past both of the Machinedramon with clearance, a nod and a small bow given to X-001. "Glad to see you're doing well, One." Syre was cordial, but perhaps understandably not the chattiest one in the room. She would, of course, greet Cion, Dio, and Carlos as they came in, but it was clear that they were here to do a job.
A job bluntly told to them by the Mastemon and her counterpart: destroy Orion's legacy, make the base unusable, and wipe everything clean. Syre listened intently, but there was one key part that wasn't said, one thing that the Sistermon had to clarify straight away:
"You didn't mention what we're going to be doing with Orion himself." Syre's words would have dripped with venom if she wasn't in the emotionally-dulled body of Sistermon. "Trust me, every bit of his work will be wiped out. The bastard's gotten away with too much as it is... so."
"What do you want us to do with him?"

Shi... Wasn't sure what to make of the message he got, he had gotten messages like this before on his D-terminal and it usually always spelled out nothing but trouble for the trio. Still there was something about it, something that the tamer couldn't ignore even though part of his mind wanted to. Maybe it was a simple response to a call to action, maybe the idea that others could get hurt that drove him. Perhaps it was even simple boredom that drove him to go, None of that mattered as him and his partners stood in front of the entrance. Both were simply in their rookie forms, Yuudai getting ready for a fight while Yasuo had a bit more of a distant look on his face.
Shi had told his family where he was going before hand, he knew his mother wanted to talk him out of it but she didn't. Probably figuring that he would be as stubborn as she usually is. These thoughts occupied his mind as he approached the location, quickly he was rushed into what he assumed to be the waiting room alongside his partners, Shi couldn't help but take note of the surroundings, quite a few guards seemed to be littered around which did nothing for his nerves. Nevertheless he retained his neutral expression as he walked to the waiting room.
He seemed to come in second, a Digimon he thought he recognized, at least the form but the one he knew what white with a pink hat, probably a variant. Shi would simply resign himself to leaning against a nearby wall while he waited, the twins standing next to him, Unless someone greeted him he wouldn't talk back, nor really seemed like he cared to that much at all to do so, Yuudai and Yasuo would do their best to greet the others as they came in, showing a friendliness their tamer didn't seem to share.
After a small while eventually who Shi assumed was the one who sent the message showed up, speaking of the same digimon Shi saw in the message, Orion. The trio were definitely in the dark about most of the defenses they spoke of, but if the group was at the same level Shi and the twins were at he had a pretty good imagination on just how large the defenses were. And considering apparently the rest had encountered this before this might even be something more personal, Shi couldn't say for sure.
"Besides what to do with this 'Orion' I have none, If there's one thing these two are good at it's blowing stuff up." Shi's voice was steady and calm, not even a hint of emotion behind his words. "I won't waste time asking to be filled in on the finer details, We don't have history with the guy but We'll do what we can, I can promise you that." Shi had no beef with this Orion but is seemed clear to him that something bad was up with this guy.
"You can count on us, me and my brothers won't let you down." One of the Agumon's, Yuudai added with a smile, the other simply nodded agreeing with his twin.

Well, this one was a long time coming, wasn't it? Ever since the trio of Carlos and the twins had been tasked with infiltrating Orion's base all that time ago it was obvious to them it wasn't going to be a clear cut case, another mission they'd simply cash out with and forget about eventually. Not just for the things they saw there, nor the way it affected them and mostly Syre, but for the simple fact they had a loose end at the end of it: Orion, the one responsible for too many bad things to list was still out there, free to start his less than savory deeds from scratch as he pleased.
It seemed however his luck had finally ran out, or was about to, as they finally got word of a task from a familiar employer. With some hesitation they took the offer, less out of some sense of duty and obligation and more for the simple fact they knew Syre would be there.
Family had to look out for eachother, right?
They'd eventually make their way into the base later that day, the place looking about as guarded and loaded with equipement as the last time they were there a year or so ago. They walked into what seemed to be the right room, taking note that (as per usual by this point) they were not the first to arrive. That dubious honor was reserved for a man accompanied by two agumons, neither of which rang any bells for the trio, and of course a Sistermon they knew all too well. They greeted their four team members, obviously giving Syre a slightly warmer smile but otherwise nothing much more than that, despite Gio's protests. She was clearly not in the best of moods for that right now, understandably so.
After formalities were said and done they finally got a rather quick and to the point rundown of their mission: leave no stone unturned, no room untouched, not a single thing left in Orion's based. They might as well had called this a scorched earth operation all things considered, something neither of them seemed to have much of an issue with.
"I guess my only question is if we know how better defended this place is. You know, so we don't accidentally burn out everything we have on the first room if there's an army waiting for us behind the next door." Carlos said with a shrug, unsure of what to expect. Their last mission like this had gone surprosingly without a hitch, but then again that place could have had really light security for all they knew.

Was there a point in repeating what had been said and thought already? Unlikely so, hence Cion kept her mind calm and composed for a moment as to match her rarely yielding, ladylike poise. The truth was that most people here were strangers to her, and that her ken on Orion and his schemes was that of a civilian reading the occasional newspaper. Many names and references that were voiced naturally went beyond her understanding, nor were they of concern to her. She had arrived due to a very simple and fierce impetus, which was the same as Syre's.
To protect their family.
Though mostly ignoring the mechanical army that was present to guard the area, she had to give credit were it was justified. Whoever her employers were, they were evidently dead set on ending whatever this imbroglio was for good. Understandably so, this was just fine by the silver fennec, who was arguably the least conspicuous ascendant that has ever roamed the digital realm. Aside from her signature, differentiating her from a mere Rookie was likely difficult, especially since she remained in this restrained state for practically the entirety of her existence. Her darling was quite aware of the metabolic drawbacks this imposed.
However, that was ultimately of no importance. Yet upon spotting Dio, she could not help herself but wave her hand at him with a rapt grin on her muzzle. Although not much had happened between them after that delightful evening, she was nonetheless happy to see him fit as a fiddle. They had chosen to tread different paths, which led the unassuming fox into the arms of a comely onyx felidae, but that did not mean that she did not care for him as a friend. Besides, as probably the de facto supporter of their squad, it was better to have an amicable relationship with everyone.
Listening to the admittedly simple yet effective plan, the vulpine lady gently nudged her tense darling's shoulder. The question that was vocalized was understandable, yet lacked a certain amount of definiteness from her point of view. Thus she decided to chime in with a firm yet kindly spoken recommendation. "Regardless of the answer, a... 'permanent' solution seems prudent, does it not?" She asked with a slightly rhetorical tone to her dulcet voice, confident that the others would agree.
Annihilating ideas and their history was easier said than done, particularly in a realm were reincarnation in a variety of forms was commonplace, if not mundane.

The andromon gave a small nod back; with an equally small wave. He was on the job so he was a bit less chatty than last time when he was just directing things. He was here and ready for a fight along with every other robotic digimon here.
”Same to you syre.”
The last time they had met would have been back in the crystal forest but the both of them knew what this situation finally meant and how serious it was. With everyone save her not knowing him all he’d do was watch. He figured that they wouldn’t introduce themselves. Not that most of them needed introducing.
But the first question of many was important. As important as the situation itself. Chalice and the AI shared a glance between one another and the latter of the two would instead become projected to the table in front of chalice. Where they could place down a large map of the location. It seemed needlessly complex but the AI being how she was… was fairly direct.
”That. Largely depends on your decision in the field. We’d like to have him alive but I don’t that’s plausible at this point and a permanent solution? Well. Malganoth wants execution… by Sea of blood. Which would indicate interest of capture but killing him on field and loading him is also all right. He’ll resist, he’ll fight and… he’s extremely powerful. So capturing him may not be an option.”
Chalice didn’t even seem too sad about that part; not even bothered really. Miffed more that she couldn’t get more information out of her ‘father’ than anything else. Hearing that the two agumon were good to do what they needed to do the AI nodded.
”Well then it’s pretty straightforward. If you want to know more information about what has been done upon a later date we’ll fill you in. If not that’s fine.”
The AI would turn her attention to Carlos and frown after a moment. How better defended was this place compared to the last time? From what this chalice knew… There was a large amount of digimon in the old place. Ones that she oversaw. With a sigh she’d wave her hand and dozens of red dots appeared on the ‘map’.
”From our initial scans of active data-cores and signals. We’re reading at least twelve active megas and two large clusters of ultimates. There’s two super mega signals in there as well and they’re really close to one another. If I had to guess? Orion’s making another experiment except this time he’s working on them directly and personally. At least enough to where… they can’t happen like what did with the last location. He’s not dumb by any means; he learns faster than most and that I suppose is why he’s developed this way.”
Chalice’s wings would twitch and she’d fold her arms. Huffing just a little bit at that assumption made of cion. It seemed to her at the very least that both syre and cion would want to kill orion. A deed she once again did not mind; but there was also information that the mastemon wanted from orion. So her voice was on capture… even if she wasn’t likely to be going.
”As irritating as it is. Yes it does seem prudent to perform a permanent solution in field. But there’s also no telling what sort of effect he’d have on your data. Orion is immeasurably old; not even luminas knows how old he is. I don’t even think he knows how old he is. There’s bound to be some corruption in there and I don’t know if any of you could handle it without some aid or severe repercussions. But if you do decide to its best handled promptly and quickly.”
The mastemon tapped the map; it was an intricate one and from the looks of the first layer… that’d be where they would be teleporting in. The AI would rotate the map a few times to give everyone a good look at it. There seemed to be three levels, the first where the clusters of ultimates were. Then the second smaller level where the megas were housed… and the last which seemed tiny but also large enough for proper combat. With the two super mega signals in there.
”I don’t expect the ultimates to put much of a fight up against all of you; but a reminder that these people didn’t choose this is probably needed. So if you can… well. Not kill them? Or at least make it so they don’t suffer if you have to? We’d prefer a capture route on all his experiments so we can try to do what we did for the meicoo’s after his first mess. I don’t know what sort of manipulation he’s done to these ones or how powerful they’ll be even at ultimate. But as you can see here the clusters are large enough to be an active threat even if you all are capable of super megas. Dogpiling and teamwork will probably be their motif. So don’t let them gang up.”
The map would stay on the first level for as long as it was needed and any questions would be answered. The next ‘section’ was of the area with the megas. A large two pronged room with eight signals in each.
”If I had to guess the elevator from this primary area on the first floor goes down to this second one. There’s at least three different ones but I’m not sure which one you could take without actually physically being on spot. Which is why I’m coming along in the first place. But these two clusters of megas also seem to be guarding a subsidiary quartet of rooms that are connected to one another. If I had to guess? That’s where he keeps all his information and data about his experiments.”
The final and last portion of the map; Chalice herself would speak up and she’d tap on it. Zooming in. The pair of signals would be abundantly apparent as to who they were. One being his ‘ultimate’ experiment. And the other being Orion himself.
”The room itself is a massive lab; It has to be with the energy signal and spacing that we’re detecting. So large in fact that we’re sure it’s… over something. We’re not sure what, some kind of energy source? A large cut into the digital world thread maybe? It’s hard to tell but it’s also a location that you’ll be able to fight freely. Given we don’t care if you wreck the place. Orion… May look defenseless when you arrive, may look unlike what you’re expecting but don’t give into whatever ploy he’s putting out. The mon is a monster and you’ve seen it first hand. But… also realize that he’s interested in keeping his work preserved so if you can stop him without violence? I’d appreciate it but I’m not asking you to do so; I don’t know how much he’s done to the person he’s working on. And if they were hurt to a degree i don’t know how well I’d be able to help them. Sixer was easy because of our timely arrival and our ability to avoid combat but I doubt that’ll be the case here.”
The AI would roll her eyes a bit and tap on the map; blowing it up back to the scale it was at before. A good mile or two of actual laboratories and the like seemed to be what they’d be ‘beaming’ into.
”With all that being said. Where do you want us to teleport you in? Our devices can only put you on the first floor unfortunately but you get the pick of the litter.”

In all, this could have been a pleasant meeting, if not for the subject matter that the group was there for.
Carlos' group, Cion, and Syre were all on good terms, and Shi seemed to have a capable, level head. Syre and Cion seemed to be more interested in what to do about Orion, leaving Carlos to ask the practical question - just what were they fighting against? To the first question, Syre listened to the Mastemon's explanation:
Capture was preferred, but deleting - and loading - Orion was a close second. To that, honestly, the Sistermon couldn't help but give a 'tch', feeling a twitch, a pull at her heartstrings. Load him, right... that's how mom...
Ugh! The cat shook that thought out, pushing it to the back of her head, as Chalice laid out the floor plan of the facility. The first floor was guarded by several waves of ultimates. The second had the megas, guarding administrative offices. And the last were the Super Megas - one being Orion, and one being an unknown foe.
"Hm... offhand, I'd say that asking us to be merciful is already asking a lot of us." The Sistermon looked through each of the three layers carefully. "Its not as if it will be simple to 'hold hostages'. Knowing Orion, several of these Digimon will either be machines or cybernetics in nature, and will simply not know their limit. Trying to take 'hostages' will only keep the enemy pieces in play. As for where we'd want to start, we'd want a position that maximizes our visibility of the entire floor, without having too many adversaries to our back."
To that end, Syre tapped the area next to the elevators. "Right here. I would recommend that we start here, and use the momentary disarray we have when we teleport in to rip open the elevator doors, and destroy the cables and the elevator car. We can eliminate their method of reinforcement, and reduce the risk of letting our enemies know when the doors are going to open."
"Realistically, we want to spend as little time on that layer as possible, anyway. The megas look more threatening, but if we go to the second layer as quickly as we can, and force the issue by immediately attacking the administrative rooms, we can force the twelve megas into a defensive stance. If we split up, we can roll this advantage straight on through - though this would involve all of us being Super Mega right from the start."
The Sistermon stood back, crossing her arms as she looked over the diagram again.
"A straight blitz on the second floor will prevent them from easily transferring out their data. The only drawback would be that we would leave the ultimates on the top level uncontested... hm..."

Capturing the foe alive, that definitely wasn't the twins strong suit, though even if it was from what Shi was hearing it might not even matter that much to begin with. Shi looked at the two Agumon by his side for a moment while they talked, he didn't say anything but if it really came down to it he wasn't risking his and his brothers necks out for this, he'd still at least make an attempt to capture but if it's between him and his opponent he wasn't gonna back down. With the addition of possibly learning what was going on Shi just shook his head no, all he needed to know was this guy was bad news.
Then came the numbers, quite a few Ultimates and Mega's with two Super Mega level digimon... This was definitely some tougher stuff, no wonder they'd come to a complete stranger for help on this. Shi'd push himself off the wall he was leaning on and walked closer to this map with the dots so he could get a better look at it, taking in every single detail that he could, Yuudai and Yasuo focused on it also, making sure to have everything they could down to memory.
Then came the part of making sure the Ultimates didn't bite it, which made sense to Shi. An operation this large was bound to have a few people who didn't want in on it. "We'll do what we can, I can promise no more." Just like with the capture thing Shi wasn't about to stick his neck out for these Ultimate level digimon, while it might've seemed a bit cold he would at least try to make sure they survived.
While Shi was considering where to drop in the Sistermon made some good points, though the uncontested Ultimates did also have Shi a bit worried. "Could be for the best to leave them, if we rush through the floors and take out the Megas first the Ultimates might lose their nerve." Shi added figuring that'd probably be the best point to jump in also, after all if they took out the Megas first the Ultimates might think they don't stand a chance against them.
Shi then simply backed up and scratched his head. "Though I suppose we shouldn't count on a chance. But I'm fine with a Blitz." Get in fast and start beelining towards important stuff, worked for the trio.

Surprisingly so, their employers had a rather detailed map of the hostile location's layout. Cion figured that they had the means to perform covert operations to attain such data, which was not unlike the services that her cherished companion Vertigo provided. However, this was not an undertaking in which the sentient jet plane could contribute effectively, thus she had not informed him about it. Not to discredit his ability to lay waste to an area - perish the thought - but his weaponry lacked a certain degree of finesse. Self-preservation was as important to her as removing the threat that this pompously named fiend posed.
Though remaining calm, there was something that surprised her, which was the concentration of powerful digimon. Achieving Ultimate was quite the feat, Mega a rarity, and ascending was well-nigh a legendary accomplishment. It was evident that there was a universal shift towards greater power, evidenced by her allies and other acquaintances, but as an anime that she enjoyed watching had put it... this seemed like a bargain sale. Presumably, their target had influenced digivolution through artificial methods. Did that mean that his slaves' empowered forms were perhaps unstable, and maybe unsustainable? Regardless of the answer, assuring that they would at least reincarnate with their memories intact was an understandable secondary goal.
References, options and approaches were discussed, to which the unassuming fox nodded frequently without saying a word. She had not been aware of any previous missions, except for vague intel of her dearly beloved, for which reason she was willing to go along with whatever sound strategy that was proposed. Although it was slightly aggravating, she knew that her group did not require another vanguard. She was a sentinel who would get them through this... likely not unharmed but alive. Her role, as it typically was, was to bolster their fighting capacity.
And if they went with Syre's idea of a sudden blitz then that kind of support was certainly necessary. It was a daring approach, but she had to admire the fervor of the onyx felidae. For understandable reasons, this was a personal matter that the both of them wanted out of the picture for good and as quickly as possible. They had to fight to earn their peace of mind.
Even as a graceful lady Cion had to admit that combat was instinctively enjoyable, but this was neither fun nor games. This was a grave situation that had to be resolved for them to return to their peaceful life of shenanigans, caresses and occasional duties. Perhaps they were monstrous in appearance to humans, but that did not make them monsters - disregarding the denomination that this realm's population bore of course.

Thankfully it seemed that as opposed to last time, their mission givers were a lot more well informed about what they were to expect today.
There was admitedly a very slight relief on Carlos' mind as he heard that, while preffered, they were very much not obligated to bringing Orion alive. That made things significantly less hard on them, though he immediatelly felt awful for thinking that. As much of a bastard as this guy was, the fact the possibility of erasing his existance brought any piece of mind to Carlos worried him a tad, sending a shiver down his spine as he tried to shake that thought away, focusing on what other information they had. As for the many guards and henchmon? Well the same applied: capture would be prefferable, but not mandatory. Still not the most ideal of situations but at least Syre's plan seemed to aim away from facing all of them, which was ideal seeing just how many of them were.
A quick blitz through the key points of the facility seemed to be their way to go, only part of her plan anyone in the trio seemed to have an issue with was going super mega right from the get go.
"As the team's resident Lord I hate having to be the one to ask this but: should we really go all out asap and risk burning out just as we come across with Orion?"
"The faster we get through them the less we have to worry about running out of energy." Carlos said, prompting a shrug from the imp but little else in the way of an objection. Besides much like Shi said, the Megas were the biggest threat anyway. Without their support the Ultimates would probably become even less of an issue, even if they didn't opt to give up.

”I’m only asking cause it’s not uncommon for the ‘lower level’ mons to be nothing but test subjects for orions experiments. You know how it is. We’re not asking you to hold them either. We have something that will allow us to pinpoint them and teleport them out like how we’re going to teleport you in.”
The mastemon took out what looked to be a small bunch of disks. Presenting it to the group she’d split them apart; there were many microsized devices that ultimately just… kept splitting apart. It was really hard to see how many there were!
”Simply attach this to their body at any point and thumb over the ‘button’ it’ll send a small pulse to us and we’ll have a team on standby to accept them. If you even go that route at least erm...”
Chalice leaned to look at where the ‘nun’ wanted to put themselves in. It wasn’t a surprise to her and her reasoning seemed sound. The mastemon bit her lower lip and glanced at the AI counterpart who gave a small shrug.
Twelve? Sixteen you mean. Eight and Eight there Syre. But yeah that would require you to be super mega and there’s no telling how the ultimates will react to you guys going down the shaft of the elevator. They might pursue or hesitate. Really up to the cards on that one. And I’m not sure how good of an idea it is to split up. Which one of you guys would team up with who? And against what even?
Chalice rubbed at her chin and overlooked the map before nodding her head. It made sense to her what they all said and then… well. The silence from cion, the input from shi and then the input from carlos and dio. She sat there musing it over and eventually gave a shrug.
”Just cause you’re super mega doesn’t mean you’d be going all out in terms of fighting. If there’s 6 of you all at super mega? That would probably illicit panic among a group of ultimates. But ultimately we’ll give this choice to you all. If you want us to port you in there that’s where we’ll put you. Now here’s the question.”
Which one of you is going to carry me?
The AI folded her arms and looked around the lot of them. It was her job to clear out any data on the inside of everything. Even going so far as to delete herself once the process was done. That way there was no chance that any of the information orion had horded would ever see the light of day again.

Eight and eight?
Eight and eight. Taking another look at the blueprint for the middle floor, Syre would return a nod, doing her best to push that silly mistake to the back of her head. Dio's concern was more relevant to the situation, anyway: would they all have the stamina to stand up to Orion if they went all-out from the start?
"Its a gamble, but I think Carlos has the right of it. If we try and use our lesser forms throughout and 'save' ourselves for Orion, we'll end up wasting more energy than we'd save. Besides, its not like any of us would get any second chances if things go wrong. Being Super Mega from the start gives us as much a buffer as we could hope for."
Next came two important questions: for the left and the right wing, who would be paired with who? Syre took a look across the room. She knew Cion and Dio, of course, but was largely blind to the capabilities of all three dragons in the room. It was tempting to say that the split should be "herself and Cion" in one room - but with two sets of twins in the other, that may either cause the 'weaker' twins to get individually overwhelmed, or for the enemies to try and focus their efforts on the side with fewer Digimon - both of which could collapse their formation.
Syre needed another perspective on this: "I would recommend that Shi's group and Carlos' group be on different teams, just to keep the numbers level. My Super Mega is a Gallantmon, a defensive-type better at middle-range." Cion, meanwhile, was better at healing and longer fights with her Arniomon form, and likely paired better with a more-aggressive, attention-seeking partner!

Well that was good, while Shi wasn't very confidant on that whole tech aspect of it just having something that can teleport them would make this a lot more simple. So he just gave a small nod and figured if it was that easy he'd at least try and do something about it. It also seemed that everyone was in agreement about blitzing the place, felt like the right idea to Shi and looking at his partners they didn't seem to have any objections about it either.
Still though that would leave two groups to deal with eight Mega level digimon. Seeing as the other tamer had twin partner like Shi he was going to interject that they should be separate, however before he it was already said, so he just gave a simple nod in agreement. "I'm fine with that, best to make the teams as balanced as we can." which then would probably come the question of just what can Shi's group do, which the twins decided to speak up on that part.
"I specialize in close range combat and aggressive battling, Pretty much all my abilities focus on doing as much damage as I possibly can." The Agumon without red armbands around his claws, Yuudai, Said. He seemed a bit proud of that fact. "Though in a pinch I can heal myself and any poison like stuff if I need to." Recalling that part of his abilities.
Then came his twins turn, the one with red armbands around his claws. "I'm pretty much the total opposite of him, I specialize in long range and defensive abilities with a bit of healing in there also. Though if I really need to I can use an ability that pretty much wipes out everything within a 20 meter range around me."
Though when it came to who would carry the AI Shi simply rubbed the back of his head. "I don't think it'd be safe for my to carry you." Shi didn't feel confidant the twins could keep them safe, even if Shi usually had a lot of input while Biomerged. He also decided to leave the team building to someone else, considering he didn't know much about anyone else's abilities he was pretty sure that someone elses input would be better.

Hopefully dealing with the lower level threats would be as quick and easy as promised, but Carlos wasn't about to hold his breath and bank all their success on something relatively unreliable as technology. Still, the option brought him a modicum of peace, which was more than he could ask for considering...well, everything right now.
Though when it came to how to balance the two teams if they split up however, reality would turn out to not be as clear cut as Syre was probably thinking.
"Is this a bad time to mention we only went Super Mega on our own once?" The black scaled dino said, raising his hand somewhat sheepishly, almost slightly ashamed of that fact.
"That's right, they're...well, I guess now we are slightly comfortable fusing in a pinch, so we could still go with Shi and his partners guys and just...try to offset that weakness. But we're fine with either option really." Carlos said, not acknowledging the slightly awkward glance Dio gave in Cion's direction around the time she came in.
"Eh, just let Carlos carry you, unless we fuse he'll probably stay out of the line of fire...this time." Dio said giving the man an annoyed smirk, which he simply retorted with a slight smile and a raised middle finger. Once that was all done however, was it hopefully finally time to go and get this insanity over with? The trio certainly hoped so, as hesitant as they were to even begin.

It was... a bit awkward for the vulpine sentinel to be present. Again, as stated many times before, her ken on the matter in front of her was not first-hand. Truth be told, she did not care for Orion and his insane schemes either. Rather, her impetus was to assure Syre would prevail and continue an existence of peace by her side. Thus, as always, any and all references to past events went straight over her head, nor was she interested in leaning more about something that was going to be destroyed for good until sunset.
This however left Cion without much input to vocalize during this debriefing. Things were what they were, and stating the obvious was pointless in her point of view. Furthermore, she knew that she would likely not join the fray directly and instead provide valuable support. She possessed a yet unseen form that was very capable of CQC, but this did not seem to be what their group needed. They had plenty of fighters already.
This was the very reason, including aforementioned factors, why she remained quiet for the most part. She did not have experience. Neither was she the first to risk her skin. It was practically everyone else who mantled the role of vanguards, hence it appeared appropriate that they ought to decide the approach. It was easy for her to adapt to whatever they chose, as her set of skills were exceedingly flexible and multipurpose.
Nonetheless, she was about to raise her paw before Dio beat her to it. It seemed reasonable to her to be the bearer of the program that would bring an end to everything. After all, she was not a frontline soldier. But if the Impmon believed his human companion to be the best choice, then she did not question that decision. Moreover, she shared his eagerness to finally get going and bring an end to their adversary's undertaking.
