The festival was nearly over and done with, soon it would be back to Alpha and Beta training. Back home to Terminus and back to the reality of what they were up against. Though for now the three of them could rest easy in a hotel in Ys, safe from any harm thanks to the security this place employed. Inside the Hotel room all three of them shared, Alpha Beta and Cici, each one lost in their own deep sleep for the night. However each of them would be getting a visitor that only one of them could recall.
Alpha's head hurt slightly, everything felt so heavy at the moment and he was confused as to why. Wasn't he in bed? If this was the way that Ys had their beds it was too hard. Opening his eyes he realized that instead of in the Hotel he seemed to be in the regular house, laying on the floor. "Huh, how did I. Beta, Ciel? Where are you two." He called out but they didn't respond, instead he heard a new voice that he hadn't heard before.
"Alpha."
They simply said his name, It wasn't anyone Alpha recognized but the voice sounded strangely familiar to him. "Who are you?" The Hackmon called out, as if to draw him out the door that lead outside opened up on its own. Cautiously Alpha stepped outside the house and into the streets of Terminus, where a Jesmon stood in front of the house staring up at the sky.
"Alpha, I'm sorry. This is all my fault. The Myotismon, you and Beta. Everything from my selfish want." The Jesmon sounded old and tired as he spoke, his words addressed the twins and their situation so why couldn't Alpha remember them? Despite the lack of memories he felt a weird connection, like how he felt when he fought alongside Beta.
"Why, Why do you seem so familiar? Have we met?" Alpha was confused as to who this digimon even was, the Jesmon simply closed his eyes and let out a soft sigh.
"I can't answer your questions now, just know this. Regardless on what you and Beta go through. I will be beside you every step of the way." The Jesmon approached Alpha and bent down to look at the Hackmon before tapping him on the chest. "We are one in the same Alpha, I will always be with you. I just hope you can forgive me for this horrible situation I've caused for you." With that the Jesmon slowly seemed to vanish from sight.
Alpha felt his chest lock up with a strange feeling as he watched the digimon vanish, as if he was watching an old friend disappear before him. "Wait no, come back!" Alpha reached out to the digimon but it was pointless, slowly Alpha's world became more and more dark until he drifted off back into a deep sleep.
Beta didn't like this, she felt trapped, isolated. Her eyes closed and all alone she felt the cold ground she was familiar with. She couldn't sense Alpha or Cici which seemed to slowly start to send the young Hackmon into a panic. She was having a nightmare, one she was all too familiar with. Beta couldn't calm down, until a light seemed to shine from above. Slowly a digimon descended down above her, a weird sense of familiarity surrounded her as this digimon stood above her.
"Beta, Open your eyes." A tired old voice asked her, slowly Beta opened up her eyes and took note of her surroundings. She was back in the old hidden room the Myotismon kept her asleep in. Her heart started to race with fear but the Jesmon above her placed his hand on her head, giving her a sense of safety and keeping her grounded. "Beta, I am sorry. This is all my fault. The fact you have gone through this, the trials you face after. I am the one to blame, my selfish actions cursing the lives of two children." He simply said, a tear seemed to fall from his face as he said this.
"My only hope is that one day the two of you can forgive me someday, this horrible situation is the last thing I ever wanted to happen."
Beta looked up at the Jesmon for a moment, looking into his red eyes she felt a strange connection with the digimon. "Who are you? Have we met before... Why, Why do I feel sad?" Something within the Hackmon was stirred on seeing this Jesmon, some feeling deep inside that she didn't understand.
"I'm afraid I will have to reveal that another time, just know Beta no matter what you face. I am within you and Alpha. I will never leave your sides so long as I have strength in my body." The Jesmon promised as he slowly started to fade from view.
Beta reached out, the strange sadness becoming more and more powerful as she watched this digimon she had never met fade. "Wait, Don't leave!" But it was too late, as the Jesmon vanished slowly Beta fell back asleep, this time with a happier dream awaiting her.
Cici had her head on her desk, she felt the familiar wood on her head as she had passed out on this desks many times while working on different items. Slowly she opened her eyes and let out a yawn. Instantly she noticed some oddities with where she was, the place seemed like it was brand new. Slowly she recalled a distant memory of when she first started to live in her new house, it looked exactly like this. Slowly getting up Cici walked out of her room and looked up towards the roof.
After a few minutes she managed to get up on top of the house where she found a Jesmon, eyes closed sitting on the roof. "....Jes." Cici felt a multitude of emotions as she saw this digimon, however one question burned in her mind even more. How? Slowly Cici walked over to the digimon and sat down next to him, sitting up on the roof staring at the sky above as she had done so many times before.
"Ciel. I have to say something." The Jesmon started but quickly the Sistermon and placed her hand in front of his mouth with a smile.
"Don't, you don't need to apologize. Just listen to me ok?" She said already knowing what was going through the Mega level digimon's head. "You never planned on accidentally becoming Alpha and Beta I know. Everything that has happened hasn't been your fault." Cici let go of the digimon's mouth and simply started staring back up at the sky.
"Alpha and Beta, they won't have the easiest of lives that's for sure, following in your footsteps will be hard after all and Alpha's a bit of a work in process but that's life, sometimes it doesn't work out the way you want." Cici seemed down as she mentioned that but regained her smile.
"So long as I'm here I will protect those two with everything I have, I know I most likely won't ever see you again. But maybe that's ok, maybe there's a reason you became Alpha and Beta. I will protect them with everything I have Jes, I can promise you that. because it's what you asked me to do, my best friend."
As Cici talked the Jesmon seemed content, almost happy that he didn't seem to be needed. He just wanted what was best for his reincarnations and Cici, with her words putting him at east the Jesmon slowly faded away like before. As he vanished Cici slowly started to drift back to sleep with only a few final words lingering in her heart. "It was amazing to see you again, The one I.... Love." Saying those words to herself Cici fell back to a deep slumber. All three wouldn't remember what had transpired in their dreams, however Alpha, Beta and Cici would all feel a stronger resolve to push forward. In the memory of the Jesmon that came before them.
