Digimon Name: Karasu Izumi
Default Form: Champion
Gender: Male
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Skills/Talents:
Master Thief: Years upon years of honing his craft, studying the right moves to make and how to make them have made this Digimon a master of his craft. Anything involving thieving he's greatly skilled at, lock picking, lifting things off digimon and humans alike. If he wants something from you then he'll get it, and you won't none the wiser about it.
Silent: Every step he takes, every movement is as quiet as can be, even digimon with the best hearing have a hard time picking up on his movements when he's trying to stealth around. He could be behind you and away before you'd even hear a step.
Silver Tounge: With a sly smile and a handsome face, his words soft and lovely voice making even the toughest digimon crack under his lovely personality.
Human World Knowledge: While it might not seem like a skill to most others for a digimon this is quite critical for him to have, living in the human world so long he's become incredibly knowledgeable about the world he lives in.
Information process: Having a sharp intellect is pretty much a requirement for being a phantom thief (Unless your name is Ryuji) And Karasu is no different, able to think incredibly fast on his feet and figure things out at a lightning quick pace.
Inventory:
Calling Card: A small notecard from his old days, with the symbol of a golden bird with Data surrounding it. Digicode on the back with the words Sentin, name of an old friend.
Personality: One thing that can easily describe Karasu in one word is simply the word calm, he always seems like he's completely on top of every situation no matter how dire. Never being one to lose his cool or freak out in anyway, the most you'd ever see is a slight twitch before going back to his usual calm persona. Confidant in what he does and how he lives his life always going around with a smile and an upbeat attitude, never one to get down on himself about anything. Karasu treats pretty much everyone with the same respect he expects to be treated with, making sure no one feels left out of anything and doing his best to make everyone smile.
His personality is mostly the same around his family, treating them with kindness and respect all the while making sure they never feel sad or lonely. Though he does tend to enjoy teasing his kids with light jabs it's all in good jest and he'd never do so with any ill intent. Karasu will not tolerate anyone attempting to do any sort of harm to his family, it's one of the few things that will break his calm demeanor, if you try and hurt his loved ones he will not rest until you are stopped.
In the digital world using his true form however Karasu changes to almost a complete 180 in his personality, going from a calm and serious man to a very cocky thief. Almost never taking any situation with any amount of seriousness, openly mocking his foes while charming some as well if he can find the time (Don't tell his wife it's mostly for the image). Very sly with a quick wit and an even quicker mouth, he still has a massive apprehension for violent acts, only ever resorting to fighting or any ungraceful techniques if he feels as if he has no other option.
Despite this his kind nature still shines through and he will put himself in harm's way to make sure that others are safe, if there's ever a choice between a clean getaway and saving someone's life, he will take the latter without question. Karasu does however have a hard time trusting others, given his way of life and history this is no surprise. It takes a long time to get close to him, even longer before he'd be willing to tell you his real identity. The only ones unaffected by this is his family who he tells everything to.
Personal History: Karasu didn't always go by that name, originally while he was in the digital world a long, long time ago he simply went by the name Phantom. He was called that simply by ease as no one knew what his true name could be, since back then he didn't have on he simply went by that name taking it as his own. He was an infamous Phantom thief of the digital world, taking the digital world by storm with his quick and precise jobs leaving most he stole from none the wiser. Originally he simply stole just for the enjoyment of the act, even returning what he had stolen a week after. however, as he started gaining more and more skill, he started setting his sights on the more corrupt targets of the world.
With a code of honor he had established for himself he swore to only steal from those who have stolen themselves, Digimon who had taken from those who cannot defend themselves. Karasu stood up for those digimon taking their belongings back and returning them to their rightful owners becoming somewhat of an icon for a spell. He was famous for giving his target a calling card, an open letter that he was about to make an attempt to rob the place giving them time to prepare, that was fine it just made the challenge more exciting.
As he made his way through the digital world, he wouldn't trust many digimon with who he was, using his ability to shapeshift to always change forms. However, there were a handful of digimon that he felt he could trust completely, even one who would go on to be his best friend. five digimon knew who he was and knew him well as the Phantom. Those five would even sometimes assist him in his attempts to steal from a target, give an alibi when he needed it and be on his side.
However, after one job Phantom was left with a special item, a powerful artifact that he had taken from another thief in the dark area. While he was trying to find the original owner and return it, had no intention of keeping it for himself his allies who had been so steadfast in their friendship seemed to change once he showed them the artifact. Maybe it was the lull of power coming from the item in question, maybe they had always been playing the long con he couldn't say. As he was making attempts to find where the item belongs his so-called friends betrayed him.
Gaining their help to find the owner is when it happened, while he was searching for them alone his friends had come up to him an enclosed area. While he assumed they had found who they were looking for is when the first attack came, blindsiding the thief and confusing him. His former friends told him that they wanted the artifact for themselves, wanted its power. Holding on to his code of honor the thief refused and fought back, making an attempt to break through them and escape.
He wasn't able to however, they knew all his tricks, He had trusted them completely. In one last ditch effort to escape he left the artifact in order to flee, in some stroke of luck or divine intervention a rift to the human world opened in front of him, with no more options he fled to the human world where he would do his best to lay low for a while, using his shapeshifting abilities to take the form of a human.
It was a hard place to adjust to but thankfully he had planned before on using the human world as a safe house sorta speak, a place to lie low while the heat in the digital world died down. Taking on a fake identity with the name Karasu he did his best to blend within his environment, planning on returning once he had made a plan of action. This eventually backfired on sheer accident as he met a women named Aria while traveling Japan, she was with her daughter and being threatened by a thug. His code of honor wouldn't let him turn a blind eye, so he drove the robber off, stealing his wallet as he did so.
Upon talking to the woman, he learned that she and her daughter were from America, coming as far away as possible to escape some situation she refused to go into, he didn't press her on it and instead offered to show her around. After that day he kept seeing her, sometimes on accident and sometimes she'd seek him out. Slowly they got closer and closer until he realized that he had fallen in love with her.
One day he sat her down and explained exactly who he was and where he came from, at first, she thought he was simply joking. Until he revealed his normal digimon form. It took a small while but eventually she accepted who he was and the two of them had been together ever since, for the next 13 years they were in the human world raising her daughter and one more they eventually adopted. Slowly Karasu forgot about his time in the digital world focusing on his new life in the human world.
Until one day, a Calling card found its way to him baring his old symbol...
