Look what the tide rolled in [Bev]

The waves rolled lightly over the surface of the ocean near the beach of Whitewhite. The stoic silence of the serene area was broken as a violet colored hoverboard shot up out of the water and landed topside. This was soon followed by a backpak which got a little air before landing on the board. A split second later a PetitMamon broke the surface and flopped onto the board like a show whale. Finally a girl emerged from beneath the waves in a dark blue swimsuit and a Violet Armband that just had a question mark on it. Shinobu and PetitMamon had returned to this world. After a few moments resting on the floating hoverboard, the human girl started to swim, pushing the board in front of her to the beach. When they got close enough, Shinobu just stood up, drapped the pack across one shoulder and the hoverboard across the other. Her hair was not in the usual braided "Demon's tail" form. It was left completely free and was but an inch from sweeping the footprints from the beach.
PetitMamon just collapsed on the beach and rolled over, sand adhereing to the wet skin. "Shinobu, can we never accept advice from a Wisemon again? That's like the third time he tricked us." With a little breath out, she recreated a little fountain with the water she had come close to swallowing.
The high school heroine just looked around, trying to gain some bearings. "First time he brought us into that Library. Second trick showed us where we could find food there, third time lead us here. There might be some reason he sent us here rather than dropping us back off in the woods." After seeing this was some sort of resort town, Shinobu walked in between two buildings and onto the street. First things first, Dry off, get dressed, then find a way out.

Speaking of PetitMamon, one was existing the nightclub, Caritas. Sinclair was one of the workers, even. And not too happy, either. While not outright furious, she had a frustrated look as she took out some garbage for Saibot, another employee of Beverly's. Without even closing the back door, she went to the front. After her was a BlackGuilmon, former employee and visiting helping hand. He closed the door for her and, seeing Sinclair, sat by her.
"This is the quietest strike ever."
"That, please, not now...
"Alright, alright... let me guess...
Sin was about to stop That, but decided against it. To be honest he was the only one she could talk to.
"...it's not hard to figure out. Not many working mercenaries deign themselves to helping with janitorial work. I'd be bored too."
There was some silence. This told That that he was correct in his observations.
"Cripes you're making me talk too much..."
"I feel under utilized and, frankly, a waste of space. Hell, Ghost gets to run off and posses digimon and help some Lopmon and some BelphiGazimon-whatsits thing out and I get to stay here. Taking out trash. For my nutty..."
"...eccentric. Trust me, I know nutty. Beverly isn't nutty... hey, you!"
That had seen Shinobu and her own PetitMamon walking down the street and called out to them. When he had their attention, he would continue speaking to them. "Would you call Beverly nutty or eccentric?" That had actually recognized the two, although they won't know him. He used to work for Bev back during their, well, rap debut.

PetitMamon was the first to stop at the beckoning. She turned twoards the other two. "Bev? Who is that?" This earned the little demon a fist to the top of the head. The fist was courtesy of the left hand of the human. Creating a sizeable lump at the impact point.
"Beverly is the Shoutmon X7 that held the Rap contest and helped us escape Leomon. Then we met outside Terminus and she gave me the idea for the PArade we are plnning." Some of it wasn't striking a bell with the little demon while she rubbed her head. And it was obvious to the General. "Ghost."
Just the mentioning of the name ghost had caused the little Evilkin to start crying. "I miss Ghost. Whaaaaaa!~"
Shinobu looked over to the two and moved some hair back off of her shoulder and sat down the bag. They must be back in Whitewater. Not much has changed though. The Leomon might still be around too. She wondered what he was up to now. Was he still on the hunt for her? "I wouldn't call her either. I see her as the most sane a being could be who has seperated out a part of their subconciousness to create a new entity, can change forms at will, and has no equals in terms of power."

(((Shoutmon ZX, not X7)))
For a moment, Sin wondered why would That just, out of nowhere, get a couple of random passerbys to help him prove a point. But it looked like he has seen them before. Apparently the other PetitMamon (who was almost depressingly childlike in her ways) and Ghost were pals. Well, of course those two would be friends. Conversely Sinclair was old enough to not be so youthful in her mannerisms.
Anyway, it looked like this human did not agree with either Bev being eccentric or nutty. Also, apparently this girl was relatively new to digimon, so Sinclair had to offer a couple corrections, doing so in a slightly bored, ho-hum way.
"Changing forms around here isn't unique. And my sister's power is not unmatched. But, I admit, to her credit, she has more forms than most, and she is near-unmatched in power."
Sin was starting to feel inadequate again. But before anyone other than That could notice, he began to speak. "She's so powerful she'll even delay her entrance as she listens to us talk about how strong she is. Isn't that right?"
To her surprise, Sinclair watched as Bev emerged from the front entrance, in her Galaclivamon form.
"While I won't say I got to where I am today without the aid of good companions, I do believe I am entitled to at least a small amount of pride. Anyway... it's been a while, Shinobu.

Shinobu just placed a hand on her hip as she settled in to listen to the two talk about Bev. Her eyes caught a small shimmer within the enterance of another set of eyes watching the scene. As Bev walked out, the General in training gave her. "It has been a while. Almost a year I beleive. That Wisemon's area is a bit peculiar on time frames." While not the prefered whay to appear in front of an old friend, it could have been worse. Swimsuit, drenched from the salt water and out fo nowhere. But there was alot more oddities in the Digital world from what she had learned in the Wisemon's Library.
PetitMamon saw Bev and cheered right up. But not for her. She immediatly took off into a run and started to look around the Galaclivamon, the rookie not caring that she was running around a Super-mega like an annoying gnat. After a few moments, she stopped and slumped down between the large feet of the Night club manager. "Aww Ghost isn't here." The sniffling started again, but wasn't the full on cry of before. Shinobu would have pelted the little demon, but just let it go considering the antics she had with the Bokumon because she had no one to play with in there.

Bev watched at Shinobu's PetitMamon zipped around, looking for her ethereal friend. But she was not here.
"I apologize, little one. Ghost left a few days ago to tend to some very important matters... and did so as per a favor from a friend of mine. I don't know when she'll return, but I assure you she would just adore meeting you again."
The important matter involved some other Hylden digimon who possed someone, and Vetina had pointed a couple others to Ghost to help them get their friend back. Of course, Ghost would be fine, but Bev had her concerns still, at least when Hylden were involved. Even if Bev wanted to stop her, Ghost would have insisted on going. That time between Garm's apparent death and Beverly's sacrifice and "resurrection" was hard on both parties. All because of a Hylden.
But now, Shinobu returned... better not dwell on the past too much.
"Almost a year, is it? Not that I'd get into it, but quite a lot has happened to me and Ghost since we last met."
"Yeah, that little body Snatcher won't leave me alone sometimes." Sinclair muttered with frustration. She was easy pickings for Ghost and it made her feel inadequate.
"I've told her to cut down on that... anyway, yes, she learned how to possess digimon. And can actually become solid. Heh, she's become quite strong herself, but no less playful from before,"

Shinbou stood there, listening to the small update on Bev and Ghost. It also seemed that Bev had a PetitMamon in her employ now. While Shinobu was learning everything about Digimon, she seemed to missed what was actually going on with Digimon she knew. The wind started to chill her body as the sun had partly dried her up. The hover board was slowly humming back to life. Enough that when the human dropped it it hit a cushion before it hit the ground. Shin looked from the board to Bev and took a deep breath in, just to clear out her lungs a bit. "Do you mind if we sit in your club for a bit? We don't exactly have plans right now and could use the time to catch up and talk." And change clothing. She wasn't about to say that, but she needed to let her school uniform dry.
PetitMamon moved over to sit next to Sinclair and looked like she had looked just a few minutes ago, moping quietly to the side, seemingly distracted. Just hearing about how much has changed with her friend while she had not even become a Champion yet. It was a lot for the young demon to think about.

"Of course, Shinobu. Come right on in."
The Super Mega had led the human inside, summoning her staff before handing it to her. Heat eminated from the orb housed at one end of it. "That'll help you dry off a bit. I admit, you aren't the first drenched person who came in here that I had to dry off, ha ha ha. Anyway, is there anything else that you wanted?"
The club itself, aside from some table and chair placements, would be much like how Shinobu might remember it. Also, emptier, but the place wasn't even officially open anyway. That had went in with Bev, heading over to a Gaomon who was cleaning behind the bar to help him out a bit.
Outside, Sinclair and the other PetitMamon were outside. Sin didn't want her to sit by her, fearing that annoying youthful energy, but now she was just moping over something. Was it really over missing Ghost? The moping was getting frustrating for Sinclair, and figured she might as well break some of the ice. And, well, same species, so why not... try to get along? Or something.
"What's up with you, moping like that? You're acting like Ghost died or something."

Shinobu followed her in and accepted the heating staff. A light bit of convection whipped through her hair drying it off. It wouldn't take long due to the salt content, but it did take a few moments. She left her pack and board outside with PetitMamon letting the sun work as she didn't want to create too big of a puddle to clean up. When asked if there was anything else she wanted, she looked at her school issued swimsuit. "Actually there is now that I think of it. You know where I can buy some new clothes? I still have my school uniform, but I need something a little more battle ready now that I am here in the Digital world and not returning to the human world."
PetitMamon just looked over to Sinclair, who decided to talk with her. Her eyes welled up a little more before crying out. She leaned over and hugged her fellow Evilkin. "I've been wanting to play with Ghost for so long. It was just after we last played nearly a year ago that Shinobu and I were trapped in a Wisemon's Library. The Bokumon were so dense and dull it was no fun playing with them or pulling pranks." She smelled strongly of salt water and faintly of old dusty books. Though unlike Shinobu, she was not dried off enough for normal phsyical contact or really not making a puddle.

Beverly sat down, looking over at Garm as Shinobu dried herself off. Has it really been that long since she "lost" Garm? The time when Bev and Shinobu actually got together and talked was right after she thought she killed Garm. Sure he's fine now... but even now she wonders if what happened to him had been on his mind at all. He generally looks fine about it but... she didn't know for certain. He may just be putting up a front so Bev wouldn't feel bad...
Shinobu had broke her train of thought, asking if Bev knew where to get new clothes.
"There's plenty of shops in town that sells human clothing. But most of it is just relaxing wear; more stuff for 'living here' than 'exploration', you know? However, you might find something nearby, but if not, Terminus is your best bet.
"Oh no she's hugging me. Why now? Ugh... so soggy. And... salty. And she smell like old books? Why does she smell like old books!? Crap this is pissing me off!! OLD BOOKS!"
Sinclair made no attempt to exit out the embrace the younger PetitMamon had her in. Oh, she wanted to, no doubt about that, but for some reason she did not push her off. Sin wasn't heartless enough to shove off a crying kid.
"I can definitely see you and Ghost being good friends... look, whatever Ghost is doing I'm sure she'll be back in the next few days. So quit your weeping."

Shinobu walked over, now completely dry, across the dance floor to return the staff to Bev. She considered herself strong, but she understood the power of a human was not even visible to a Super-mega. As she sat down on the chair next to Bev, she sat straight. She cracked ehr back a bit and finally relaxed some. It looked like it was the first time in months she actually relaxed.
"I'll have to give that shop a look then, see what I can piece together. I...can't go back to Terminus City. Not for a long while. Remember those Lawmon chasing me last we met? They wanted to register my Xros Loader for tracking. I am not about to let anyone track me that easily. As such, the next time I go there, I will be destroying Terminus City and that Astramon."
PetitMamon sniffled a bit after she was told to quit her weeping. It was tough though. PetitMamon was najturally playful. Shinobu even called this her way of Working hard. But she hadn't played in a long time. She felt like she wasn't working hard enough. The little Evilkin slumped off from the hug and just looked at the ground.
"I'm not a refined lady, just a big old baby aren't I? I want to work hard like The General does. I want to be the best me I can be. I even take the Generals hits to let me know when I am crossing a line. But...why am I not getting any stronger?"
The question was what was deep in her mind, and she would never allow Shinobu to hear her questioning herself or having doubts. No matter what appears to happen between the two, they understood each other. They deeply bonded in that world. But doubt was always Shinobu's biggest pet peeve.

Once the staff was returned to its owner, the warmth it provided ceased. But Bev would not unsummon it just yet. No, she simply listened to the human speak, sitting down next to her.
"Heh heh, oh yes, now I remember you were on the run. To be fair, by now I'm sure that they aren't actively searching out for you. That aside, do note that I will allow no trouble within the walls of my business... my home, in fact. So anyone, even some lawmon, who comes in here without notification and make trouble, well... they would have to get out, either of their own will or *my* own will. But perhaps you already knew that.
Also... heh heh, don't bother trying to destroy Terminus. Army, parade, or whatever, that place is too big and notable to destroy without painting a large target on yourself, no matter how powerful you get.
But... mostly because I oh, so detest destruction of that scale. Aside from anarchists it does no one good, and I know some aquaintenances who do business there."
Bev did not speak angrily or with concern. Her tone was as before, friendly. Whether or not Shinobu would achieve such power is unknown, but Beverly would not allow he destruction of any place all willy-nilly.
Did Sinclair think she was being a big baby? Yes, indeed. Sinclair was not one to handle well with "children". But Petit did say something that struck a chord in Sinclair. Power. She wanted to be stronger, but wondered why it wasn't happening. Sinclair had a similar feeling... but it wasn't about gaining power... it was from losing it...
"Look, as far as I know, a Xros user uses strength in numbers. Your general, if she is good enough, will get more allies, and you'll get stronger as a result. Powers combined and stuff..."

Shinobu just nodded at the warning to lawmon who were not in the area. Then came the warning about destroying Terminus. Seemed like she was completely against the idea now. Shaking her head she just smirked and looked right into the Super-mega's eyes. "But this wouldn't be large scale destruction. The parade would only make a clean path down the center of the city, only taking on those who try and stop us. The buildings and citizens will stand. I'd only be after one Digimon." The look on Shinobu's face had one of understanding. The look that told that this was not a willy-nilly style activity she was doing for the lols. She knew what she would be up against and she had a plan in her mind.
PetitMamon's face lit up at the cheering up attempt from Sinclair. Her eyes sparkled as if someone poured a whole bucket of glitter in them. Even teh Tsundere way Sincalir spoke was a chord strummed within her very being. Sinclair was like a Digimon version of Shinobu! She leaned over estacially and hugged the fellow evilkin "Oh thank you so much. You made me feel like I can take on the world now, because now I see that even us Petit Digimon can become strong and successful!"

Beverly chuckled a bit, but not at Shinobu. "I must apologize... I have seen enough digimon and humans wishing distruction this and annihilation that. 'I'm so powerful I can break things!' Honestly it has left me a bit jaded. Mind you, collateral damage is a different matter altogether.
As of right now... what is your... shall we say, purpose? Not some goal you have, we all have goals. I'm rather curious to hear your desires. No tasks or end games... just... what do you want to do?
I remember long ago, when I was a mere Witchmon, I had the pleasure of having tea with a Super Mega. Despite his power, he admittedly had little to do with it. He was bored. I've only seen him that one time, though, and I have no idea where he is.
And here I am, one of the most powerful digimon in the world, and probably the strongest taking residence in this city. Just owning a club and enjoying life. Singing to an audience if the mood strikes me, and fighting if I trust in the cause. I have my goals, and I've obtained them. But I'm not without purpose... I'm certainly not bored."
Sinclair felt the excited embrace of Petit, mentally moaning to herself. That book smell was still getting to her, and her personal space was invaded again. But she felt a little jealous towards Petit. Her hopes and dreams, rejuvenated, to become stronger, and Sin, this failure of a merc here who had the gall to talk about power.
Petit was, inadvertently, reminding Sinclair even more why she has little confidence in herself, having lost the power she once had. "Yeah... strong and successful. Anyway, it's nice you're thankful and all... but you're being a bit clingy."
